Japanese seafood plus a few Chinese dishes served in a small, upbeat restaurant with booth seats.
I went here for my birthday after seeing good reviews for their sashimi. I had edamame, seaweed salad, miso soup, a sashimi platter and some tuna sashimi. I enjoyed the meal a lot. The seaweed salad was a tad sweet and slimey but enjoyable. However the issue came after I left. I felt nauseas and threw up twice. Which I never do. I have had nauseau and an upset stomach since. I suspect the fish was not prepared correctly. I hadn't had that reaction anywhere else. So I unfortunately cannot recommend this place.
This place is a great option for all you can eat sushi! You fill it out on a form which I find is a bit easier than a tablet place where you can get lost in what you ordered, it feels a tad more authentic as well. Wonderful quick staff and they have the cat robot that serves you sing happy birthday quite loudly if you need to embarrass someone 😉.
My boyfriend and I came here for the first time today and it is by far the best sushi place we’ve ever been to. The fish was so fresh and everything else tasted AMAZING. We loved the variety of food too. You have to try the deep fried custard buns! The staff were so welcoming and friendly with such fast service. We had an incredibly pleasant experience. This is for sure our new favourite sushi place :)
It was ok Sushi Experience. For the price its ok. Tried different sushi places in downtown and compared to them it was ok. Fried Sushi roll was ok but I found shrimp sushi roll a bit dry.
This is hands down the best all you can eat sushi in Ottawa! Ingredients are fresh while the rolls are formed correctly and elegantly. Staff are friendly and welcoming, the place is clean and properly cooled. Washrooms are clean and well ventilated! If you live close or visit make sure to give this place a try you won’t regret it!
My favourite sushi takeout joint in Ottawa! The sushi is always made fresh and the staff always greet me with a friendly tone. The place is clean and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I place my orders online for pick-up and my food is ready for me for a speedy hand off everytime. They have an efficient system and their ingredients taste fresh. I always include custom instructions on a couple rolls, and they always make them 100% correct everytime. Would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for some delicious sushi, they've never disappointed :D
not great. I ordered the salmon teriyaki summer bento box for $29 with tax and 10% tip. it also comes with 6 pieces of cucumber roll not pictured. it's ok i guess just so expensive. not worth it. the zucchini tempura was sliced very thick and kind of gross
Absolutely love the freshness and selection of food at this location! Could be updated a little bit but over all very clean and staff is very attentive and mindful. I order all the time and would do all you can eat more often if it wasn’t so pricy.
Really great staff, they were fantastic about my nut and sesame allergies. And can t go wrong w a cat robot!!
Our recent experience was not very pleasant. When we arrived, lunch had just ended, so we paid the dinner price. After placing our order, we noticed that items we ordered were repeatedly forgotten for example, only one dish was served when we ordered two, or some dishes were completely ignored. I ordered a Sprite but was given a Coke instead, and the ginger was dry and didn t seem fresh. The tuna sashimi had an overpowering fishy smell, to the point where it was unacceptable. The taste and freshness of the other sushi items were average, which my opinion didn t worth with the cost of around $50 per person. We had visited this restaurant many times before without encountering similar issues. Perhaps it was because there were very few guests at that time, so they didn t feel it necessary to pay any attentions to us. After this experience, though, I don t think I ll be returning.
This is a fantastic place: the fish has good quality, the service is pretty good and it never disappointed me. A good quality all you can eat.
I came at noon when it was not too busy. The lunch menu is very cost-effective. Most of the rolls and fried items are available. The serving speed is amazing. My rolls were served within two minutes, and the fried items were also available. It was all done in five minutes, and I couldn t put it down on the table :D
Whether Schrödingers cat is dead or not is already determined, but the observer cannot observe it through the box. Just like a two-dimensional creature on the refrigerator standing in the blank area of the refrigerator to observe the square picture posted on the refrigerator, only one side of the picture can be seen, and this side is no more than a wall blocking the line of sight. It makes it impossible to see what the pattern in the square picture is. But from our perspective, we can see at a glance that there is a strawberry pattern inside the square pattern. Back to cats, if we, as three-dimensional creatures, master the tools to observe four-dimensional space, then we can know when the cat is alive or dead without opening the box. If a two-dimensional biological scientist named Ultraman is studying this problem on the refrigerator one day and comes up with Ultramans Berry, then to them, this is our Schrödingers Cat. The easier way for him to draw conclusions is to go to the three-dimensional world and take a look at the refrigerator. Copernicus once published the theory of heliocentrism and was treated poorly. I don t want to be Copernicus, so I expressed my views in the comment section of the sushi restaurant. From the above description of the problem, I believe it is not difficult to see that I am a reviewer who pays attention to objective things. The objectivity of the following comments about this store is also the same as above: It s a treat every time I come to Sushi Village! Whether its fresh sashimi, creative sushi, or warm ramen, every dish reflects care and quality. The waiters are enthusiastic and attentive, and always provide thoughtful suggestions, making every meal a breeze. The restaurants environment is warm and elegant, especially suitable for friends gatherings or romantic dates. Whats even better is that the price is also very reasonable and the price-performance ratio is super high! It is highly recommended to try their special sushi rolls and daily selection of sashimi, which will definitely keep you coming back for more! If you are a sushi lover, you can t miss All You Can Eat at Sushi Village! There is a rich variety of dishes, including not only fresh sashimi and various sushi, but also hot dishes, tempura and ramen, etc., which fully meet the needs of various tastes. Vegetarian options: A variety of vegetarian food is available
Best sushi in Ottawa. Prices are beyond fair. I think I will become a regular.
Best Sushi restaurant in Ottawa so far
Good food and attentive service. It was a bit expensive but we had a good meal.
After ordering from here dozens of times over the years we finally stopped in. The restaurant was nice and clean, the service staff were prompt and attentive. The server I believe her name was Cassandra was hilarious and a great server. We will definitely be back to dine in person! Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating to dietary concerns
Always great food and excellent service from Adam & Cassandra. The food is great and varied + the robot is cool!
The onlyball you can eat Sushi I go to! Never dissappointed and the food is nice
As A AYCE place but they dont want to you enjoy all your food that you ordered. I didnt get my miso soup, salad as appetizers at beginning. They gave me hand sushi only contain one piece of salmon and hugh amount of rice first. After sushi, tempura and teryaki, guess what is coming Salad of course I send it back. And I have to chase Server where is my miso soups. Doesnt mean server is not good. He is friendly. If you dont want your customer eat what they want, just do regular order style. When I pay my check, I received We are not make rest of your order because you may waste it. Let us know if you ready for next one. Save all the expensive choice till the end yeah Feed your customer most of rice stuffs then dont get them the rest. Well done.
don t open all you can eat if you just want your customers to eat cheap stuff
Love this place
A cozy place for delicious sushi and not to mention their delicious kitchen items! My friend absolutely loves their salads and Ive grown quite fond of the seafood salad, the sauce is so good. Vegetarian options: There are a few selections for vegan and vegetarian food options! Although, I recommend ordering from the separate menu rather than the AYCE. Dietary restrictions: As long as you tell the staff about any allergies or food preferences, they are very careful. I went with my little brother and he doesnt eat any seafood, so we ordered on separate sheets. Kid-friendliness: Cozy and friendly!
Best all you can eat sushi bar in Ottawa
I made the mistake of ordering a vegetarian platter but was pleasantly surprised by what I received. Fresh food, a good mix of flavors, at a good price for the quantity and delivery was very fast.
Sushi not excellent, normal quality. Even though there are 3 people at the sushi counter, there are endless waits. I recommend taking photographs of what you order because they can bring duplicates and even forget some dishes. As in most places Ive been here in Canada the service is practically non-existent. No one will explain to you what dishes they just brought you. Nice environment but personally I felt a little cold, they had turned the fan on towards the tables. In my opinion, given the quality, waiting times and service, the price is a little excessive
Amazing experience, great service, the food??? BUSTIN. PERIODT.
Delicious food, great service.
$37.99 per person for AYCE sushi $40 on holidays No difference in price for lunch or dinner.
Great Food, great selection, excellent service!
great all you can eat sushi
The food was over-priced for the subpar quality. The manager was quite rude and tried to make a scene over a small amount of leftover food (were talking 2-3 pieces of sushi) even though their service was slow and our orders were incorrect. I found the dishes, menus, and tables to be unsanitary.
Amazing restaurant with astounding food. Price has gone up saddly but the food quality remains amazing
Best sushi place in town
It was my first time here and I went for All You Can Eat sushi. Cheese wontons and crispy crab sushi was great. One thing that was cute about the service was the robot serving sushi. Overall, it was little over-priced but it was worth a try. Wheelchair accessibility: Not accessible
Would not recommend. Service is horrendous, rude, and slow. The food is mediocre at best, unless you want to eat nigiri or rolls that are 90% rice or sashimi that is paper thin. We started with a few rolls and nigiri and discovered they werent great. The rolls ended up being so stuffed with rice (an obvious attempt to fill you up at low cost) that we ended up leaving a lot of rice on the plate. The sashimi came out lukewarm and was super unappetizing. The cooked food was decent, but like the sushi, the tempura was coated in batter sooo heavily that you couldnt even see the shrimp inside. Because we didnt enjoy the majority of the food, a lot was left on the plates. Low and behold, our server complains to the floor manager about the leftover rice and it has the gall to come out and lecture us about the waste and a potential extra charge. This completely ruined an already bad experience. No extra charges were applied, but this was unacceptable behaviour from a restaurant. At least ask why the food wasnt enjoyable before jumping to the conclusion that we were trying to take advantage of an AYCE restaurant. Until they learn some basic customer service 101, would not recommend.
I really enjoyed my time here at sushi village! The food was incredible and have 0 complaints! The customer service was amazing and they had a robot cat delivering our orders. The salmon is so fresh and the spicy salmon had the perfect amount of spice and perfect salmon and rice ratio. The sashimi is to die for, the thickness and colour is something I ve never seen before. Restaurant was quite clean and the prices are appropriate. One thing to note are that the tables aren t super large so it may not accommodate larger groups of 8+ . I got a la carte and not all you can eat. - 1 roll of spicy salmon - 2 crab sushi - Salmon sashimi
I really enjoyed my visit to Sushi Village. You look at the menu to see what dishes are available. They all have a letter-number code that go to a paper order sheet. The wait staff will pick up the paper to action the order. They have a cute robot that delivers the food, but its considered one of the delivery wait staff. The robot isnt the sole deliverer of the food. Thats ok though. An experience to remember. The food was really delicious. Fresh ingredients. Ill be back for sure. Mmmmm. So full.
Great sushi for take-out.
was here once, many moons ago. have not returned since, thankfully. the fish is warm and the soy sauce is cold.
Not recommended the service was really bad but we were still asked to tip.
Its good food but its quite expensive. Updated. Did a lot of comparison shopping and actually it is on the less expensive side sushi wise. It is good. Only ever got takeout pickup so.not sure about dining experience.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food was not fresh, particularly the salmon, which tasted bad. We ordered multiple rounds of food, but they didnt serve us every time. For example, we ordered beef ribs four times, but they only served us once. I would say they serve small amount food once and made us wait for every long time for a small amount. We also ordered mangoes twice, but they refused to serve us a second time and lied that they were sold out, despite clearly having more in the fridge. They also wouldnt serve us beef because it was expensive. To make things worse, we waited for almost half an hour without being served and were insulted and abused by the staff. They even verbally attacked us and said very disrespectful things. The owner accused us of wasting his rice, even though we ate it all, which was discriminatory. Overall, Im very disappointed with this restaurant. Why offer a buffet if youre not going to give food to your customers? I wouldnt recommend anyone to eat here. We are a group of 6 people, and spent $260 for nothing since they didn t serve food for us for a long time. And we all feel hungry after paying that money.
We really had a bad experience dining in. The service was really rude and slow. The dishes were not served as we ordered and we spent about 250 dollars for 6 ppl but we felt like we ate nothing. They even used disgusting words assaulting us when we asked for more food. I bet the cost of the food they spent is not even exceeded 100 dollars.
Guys please avoid a restaurant below 4.5 stars I learnt a lesson today
Everything tastes perfect, friendly service and the price is pretty affordable for the quality of food tbh, i removed one star because their sushi for pick up are getting veery very small, the yummy used to be so much bigger as well as for the dragon house roll or others but now everything is too small but everything still tastes really good
The sushi was so-so, the seafood wasnt very fresh but it was ok, and the kebabs were good especially with the teriyaki sauce. Tempura is also delicious, and the waiters are robots, which looks fun.
They always give a good service. And if your nice there extra nice
We had the all you can eat and for $40 the sushi was sub par and not fresh.
Very good service kind waiters excellent quality fish and super fresh
Don t go! They forgot what I order and blame me. The attitude is very awful and the food is not fresh!
I believe they got new management, and the food got an upgrade! This is our go to sushi spot for 2+ years.
It s just a disgusting place. The food are just so bad. Expect you want to have a storm-ache, I wouldn t recommend you guys go this place ever. Therefore, the restaurant owner try delay your serve time(2 hours limited)for himself. Last time, I made the call 3 times to the kitchen and it still got nothing on my table. The restaurant owner said after serving: maybe the another sushi buffet is for you . What a poor! What a shame! Btw, he spoke Cantonese to flame me. The funny thing is that I told him I know what he is speaking! It just super weird restaurant
I think the place deserves a better rating. Everything was super fresh. Great service . If I could find any flaw it was the rolls on the party tray were baby sized. Otherwise great! Would eat here again.
All You Can Eat sushi buffet, with no pricing difference between lunch / dinner menu. All items on menu available at all times. Very decent food, but they kept on increasing price hike. So if you arent ready to gorge, the price tag will be harder to justify. Sushi Village also has since removed several unique items that helped them differ from other AYCE sushi in Ottawa.
On my quick trip to Ottawa I was quite impressed and pleasantly surprised with the quality food and service: reasonable price and size of portions, all you can eat menu is quite rich and has a lot to offer. An owner innovative solution is to actually hire an AI staff) First time we had a chance to see in Canada
Best sushi by far in the region, will always recommend to anyone who enjoys quality Japanese cuisine
I liked this place a lot and used to dine in here often 5 years ago. My couple recent visit in 2023 has been very sad. Service is fine, food is horrible. Very greasy and ingredients don t taste fresh.
While it is a buffet, the sashimi are all in high quality and fresh. The food comes with short wait time and in good portion. I don t eat carbs so I didn t order sushis
I love the robot cast
Everything is fresh and tasty. Served very quickly. The robot waiter brings the dishes as they are ready.
Went with the family for all you can eat . We all had a great time.we loved everything we got and the service was fast and friendly Food
Went here for dinner at 8 oclock and had sashimi twice. I was told that it was no longer available. I didnt know such a big restaurant. Why is there no food
Best bubble tea in ottawa!!! Service was fast and extremely nice.
The food here is so delicious that words cant describe it. Its better to try once
Much of what we ordered never showed up. The price was higher than what better all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants charge.
Food was GREAT, service good.
Their sushi is so good!!! And always fresh in my opinion.
More of a home style kitchen than a restaurant, amateur level sushi, nothing special, not bad but for this price I was expecting better.
My favourite place to get bento boxes. I come from Kanata to get them!! They are very affordable and quick. The food was amazing and hot! I love this place, fantastic service.
Best sushi place in all of Ottawa. The quality of the food is amazing. The service is great. They updated their prices
Best in ottawa
Only the best! Better than all the rest! I my opinion, anyway. Id take Sushi Village over any of the other all you can eat sushi joints. For service: theres a robot! For atmosphere: its an all you can eat sushi joint... What are you expecting anyway?
When I am downtown area, hands down always order here. BEST SUSHI
5 out of 5 and 10 out of 10! If you can spare 50 dollars per person it is worth it!!!
Always come here for the all you can eat on the weekends. The sever is a sweetheart and does a great job always! Love the sushi and variety of sides
Very fresh, very good quality. Ordered salmon sushi, sashimi and rolls.
One of my favorite sushi places! The sushi is always good, the vanilla shrimp are a must try! We love going there.
We love delivery robot
I love everything they do
I went here for my birthday and ordered some foods, we didn t get any drinks, ginger, soy sauce etc. until after we asked multiple times. The wait time for foods is not good at all. We ordered multiple food items and got maybe 5 of the dishes between 2 people. Unfortunately will not be returning. No shade to the servers or chefs, but if you cannot handle multiple customers, please don t accept them in!
Very tasty all-you-can-eat sushi for $35 per adult for dinner. My husband and I greatly enjoyed! We ordered Salmon & Avocado Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Sushi Island Special, shrimp tempura, eggplant teriyaki, seaweed salad, miso soup and wonton soup and more. All was delicious and fish was fresh. Food was brought out by a friendly and cute little robot & customer service was excellent. A very nice hole in the wall spot, and I would recommend especially as we all need to support our local businesses who were greatly impacted by the occupation & pandemic.
I love this place, it s so good and the employees are so nice. It s the best sushi restaurant in Ottawa! They also have this cool cat bot thing. I totally recommend this place to others since the food is so nice and delicious!
All you can east sushi, tasty, well done Min rice so your can enjoy the fish family of 4. Now to the best part, the robot it is cute little cat. Don t forget to touch the ear ;) Yes, it is a total experience
Sushis were excellent and the service was impressive. the person who attended my table was very kind and helpful (also the cat robot bringing my food was pretty cool too ). Well be coming back soon for sure!
Best sushi in town !
Do not come to this place. All the one star reviews are true! Ordered takeout from here twice and each time requested extra ginger. They never give me extra ginger despite the receipt printed showing my request note! I called and asked asked them why they repeatedly refuse to comply with my request and she LIED and told me she gave me a larger container with ginger. She also said next time I should just PAY for extra ginger. No other sushi restaurants ever charged me for extra ginger. Terrible place and mediocre food. Never again!
Food was delicious and fresh however I placed a pick up order and they forgot an entire order. So make sure you have everything
I ordered the Yummy roll and Sushi Island Special Roll on Ubereats, and quality was horrendous. The avocado pieces were completely black, and the order took a long time to deliver. Highly disappointed.
I m so fuuuullllll and happy! Had such a wonderful time at this all-you-can-eat sushi spot downtown. The staff were all so sweet and helpful and the food was delicious. They have a large portion of their menu dedicated to vegetarian food (much appreciated) and we didn t have to wait to get in on a Saturday night. I will absolutely be coming back for all my sushi needs! I had no idea this place was here but am glad I found it.
I ordered from this place as a treat to myself and my boyfriend after a couple of rough days, but it was so bad we couldn t even eat it. Super disappointed to have wasted my money here.
The place is absolutely stunning and they have some really good sushi s to start with. The ice sushi won my heart. Will totally recommend for a chill time with Friends !
4 stars for the quality of the food. 0 stars for the quality of the place.
Cool robot
By far the best sushi Ive had in Ottawa so far. Pretty huge menu and everything we got was really good. Also quite exciting to watch that cat robot waiter going around.
Great sushi.
Had the ayce dinner and it was amazing! Will be coming back again. Great staff, great food, and the little robot waiter is super fun and cute. Great job Sushi Village!
They added the tip on the bill without noticing you and ask you for tips !!! The food was just okay and the place looks dirty. Will definitely not go there again and won t recomnend it to anyone. You better Uber instead.
I don t think they added the tips after reopening from pandemic , this is my must go place every week , they never add the tips on my bill . food is fantastic and service is great, and cool robot . I love everything they do .
This one is one of the best all you can eat sushi in Ottawa
Delcious, fresh food. I enjoyed the sushi and the sashimi was fresh
Great place to go, the service is impeccable, the advice is really good and whats more, always served with respect, I highly recommend :)
Fantastic Summer Rolls are delicious!
Food was good, staff great, restaurant itself could do with updating but that isn t important because CAT ROBOT FOOD DELIVERY!!! Cuteness overload, still recovering!!
Very good tasting sushi, my personal favourite in ottawa. Just wish they would upgrade to iPad ordering system so that things would not be forgotten when ordering.
All was pristine and very good quality, the sashimis are to die for...!! We understand that sometimes it gets very busy, but the quality is always there.
The food is very good and it is an all you can eat. I love that there is a robotic cat that brings the food to your table. I recommend ordering the scallops, salmon roses, all the sashimi are delicious, dont forget the squid and shrimp skewers and also the dumplings.
Pros; Good food and Robot Cons; short staff, slow service Kid-friendliness: They have a robot that brings you food!!
I loved the food but definitely they can work on their services...they keep forgetting bring what we were asking. But overall, the food was good and our server was so sweet.
They are good but a bit pricey Vegetarian options: There are some veggies options its just a bit tricky to figure out sometimes
Omg this girl was so strong her muscles were insane and the service was peak. I am in love with her. 10/10 food, would eat again.
Heeyy, freshest sushi & amazing customer service. Food is always fresh & clean. Go & check out their new services ROBOT hahah super cool stuff ..keep up the hard work guys, I m pulling for yaaah Eatlocal & shoplocal #808construction #Ottawa Contact me for all your home foundation needs & repairs
Good food and a great variety of sushi rolls, fried food, etc. overall always a good experience here
good
Sashimi wasn t fresh. Teriyaki salmon was over cooked and dried to a crisp. There was no seafood in my friend s seafood salad, just lettuce, carrots, cucumber soaked in dressing. The beef ribs were mostly fat and bone. Tempura was cold by the time it arrived. I started having diarrhea towards the end of the meal. My friend managed to hold off throwing up until she got home. Not to mention they ve already added a 10% tip in the price so you have no option. Never eating here again.
We had dinner with friends and it was a very nice evening! The food was excellent, the sushi very fresh and the waiting time for the dishes was reasonable. I loved the way of ordering, we write down notes on sheets that we give to the waitress and our dishes arrive by themselves on a little robotic cat!
Sushi Village.. more like Shi* Village. Took forever to bring out water, and charged dinner prices for lunch menu.
Best hand roll in Ottawa
Good food like this is hard to find. Best deal: All you can eat. Recommend
Great food, good hours, good staff and very pretty place to eat.
Ive walked by this place a million times and never gave it any thought. A friend suggested we go there. I had low expectations, which is odd, because a restaurant that has survived so long in Ottawa is doing something right. For approximately $33 you get all you can eat off the menu. And meals are delivered to most tables by an adorable robot cat device. Its a cute gimmick. I found the food decent, enjoyable. No complaints. The waitstaff that werent robots were friendly enough. Robot cat was stupidly entertaining. If I had any complaints, it would be the customers. On a Saturday night, around 7 or 8, it was a young crowd. The axe body spray from the table next to us was strong. Many cystomers were doing the classic waters only and the all-you-can-eat. Come on, kids. Thats not cool. One woman went to the washroom and took long enough that her friend went to check on her. I thought I was going to throw up, I ate so much sushi, she said, walking by our table. Yeah, its that kind of place. All-you-can-eat becomes a challenge for people to eat more than humanly possible. I had two beers and my companions each had 2 diet cokes. And I tipped well. We were super full when we left. No one from our table there up. Bonus.
I go about once a week. Always greeted with a smile, and the staff is attentive anytime I want something. Everything always tastes great.
Delicious, and fast service! As a bonus, the cat robots are adorable
Excellent !! Very friendly
$11 for each of the udon and rice dishes. Good price for what you get, fast delivery, and tasty. We order from here often, highly recommended. Candies are such a good touch, I always grab these when dining in at Asian restaurants. My only negative comment is the fried rice was a little oily, but that is kind of expected (still get five stars).
Won t recommend it at all
I love the quality of their sushi and sashimi. This restaurant does an amazing job with quality of their food both in-house and via delivery. I have been ordering from/attending this place for 2-3 years and they have never let me down in terms of quality. Would highly recommend!
One of the best Ive had in Ottawa. Fresh and well made. Also had bubble tea which was top notch quality.
Love the consistent high quality vegan rolls, and the hot and sour soup! I got 3 meals here in 2 days it was THAT good. The online order system is quick and offers a nice discount.
Worst sushi Ive had in my life. The salad was lettuce and some gross sauce. The miso soups was un-drinkable . Surprised to see any positive feedback in these reviews tbh.
Got several maki rolls and everything is just soooo fresh. Will definitely order again.
Take out was yummy and quick service!
Ordered takeout with some friends and the sushi was fresh and delicious!
Best sushi place in town
Really good sushi for the price. Unfortunately since the pandemic began you can only order take out, its been about 1.5 years. The restrictions have finally lifted allowing indoor dining yet Sushi Village remains take out only which is abit frustrating as other sushi places are open.
Sushi is average. Never order Chinese food here. General Tao chicken we ordered was rock soild I couldnt even chew it , it was kept frozen I guess. Dont take customers health for granted.
Food was super fresh and staff was really nice. 100% my favourite sushi place. Would definitely recommend the Crystal Dragon Roll!
Poor quality!
(I know its a long review, I just really enjoyed this restaurant and the people, and it is a shame to see where its going) This restaurant used to be one of my favorites, and it still is in my top 5 based on food. Pre-pandemic, I was one of their regular customers, they even knew me by name. However, I am extremely disappointed in the fact they have gotten rid of the all you can eat factor. Other sushi places have this concept, so it is not because of the pandemic, they just used the pandemic as an excuse (and, not to mention all you can eat is not a buffet-style theme. You can just eat as much as you want.) Delivery is so expensive. 4 items cost me over 50$ through Uber. Thats just ridiculous. The quality is decent (sometimes), but at the price that it is at right now, I cannot keep spending money as often as I used to. I think this is not a good idea to get rid of that concept. Not only that, they have gotten rid of about half the menu (one of the items being my favorite item, the chicken teppaniyaki) which is leaving less of a variety. It is really unfortunate since this restaurant has so much potential, but I think combining the two things I wrote about will cost them alot of their targeted customers (university students).
Good selection and delicious
I don t know how the food is but they were so kind to let my partner and I charge her phone when we were in a panic! Thank you so much !
If you come in for dine in. Don t bother, because takeout order would always be the priority. We came here for all you can eat and been waiting for an hour for one dish. And I asked the server why the orders are taking forever, the server simply reply because you guys came in late, so we have way too many orders to process.
Ate here and ordered from here. The tables are small so if youre a tall person, you will have a hard time sitting down. Thats the only bad things I have to say about this place. Food is really good but a bit expensive. If you pick up, remember to use their online website. You get a percentage off.
Went here Friday night. Good place and the food is fresh and good. My disappointment is the size of sashimi pieces
Good for a group and decent selection. It could use a decor update and a bit pricey but I wouldnt complain about a second visit
Pretty cheap sushi. Its 99% rice. Service is pretty low. They just throw stuff on you table all angry at everyone. Dont expect to make more then a order or two, so order everything at once. On top of all that they gave themselves a 50% tip that is supposedly mandatory. So many other great sushi spots in Ottawa. Give this one a pass if you have any love for sushi at all.
All you can eat! Good selection, good service, decent quality for the price!
All you can eat sushi for great price. I take one star down for not bringing everything ordered. It can easily happen you will be eating tons of tempura shrimp from two orders while you wanted to eat sushi in between. Or you can recieve an hour old order when you feel full. Edit: a visit a year after my review I have to say they improved. I had no issues with sushi delivery. Everything ordered was brought to the table pretty fast (quite empty restaurant). It was delicious but there is a space to improve. For example the sealing of few maki was unsuccessful.
Service is so disorganized they lose orders constantly
Great place for all you can eat. Love the variety of food and well priced for lunch.
An amazing all you can eat buffet for a decent price.
All these people complaining about fees for not finishing their food clearly have never been to an AYCE sushi before. They do it so that you dont waste good food. Order what you can eat and then order more if youre still hungry. I went on a Sunday for lunch, they had great service, were very quick. Occasionally they forgot a spoon but the dishes came on the table quickly and if anything you can just call then over and they fix it immediately. The sushi is quality for the price, one of the better ones ive had in Ottawa, if you find the portions too small, just order more. Its all you can eat for a reason. Not to mention their menus are HUGE! Also they have nice desserts!! Would recommend (especially for lunch on a weekday, less than $20 AYCE) Im definitely going back!!
Good resturant with calm atmosphere and friendly staff. Was expecting a sushi buffet to offer sashimi during lunch but was disappointed to see that it was only available during the dinner service.
Went there twice while visiting my girlfriend. Absolutely amazing and cant wait to come back when I visit again.
Nice and comfortable place. Very delicious. Maybe it is time for them to replace the sofa seat. Leather kind of worn-out.
This Sushi Village is definitely nowhere near as good as the one in orleans. The food, the old couches, the service.... could be way better. Also there was a COCKROACH walking on our table and the server came and pushed it off the table towards my friend s lap.....
Great selection of ayce that includes dim. sum. I much prefer this place to Hokaido sushi. The staff was excellent 95% of the time. Sometimes you get bad service, bit very rare for it to happen.
Friendly staff and decent sushi for the price
Good food and good services
Will literally NEVER come here again, nor recommend this place to nobody on planet earth. I was yelled at by the owner when i wanted to leave lol. This was insane!
We ordered the sushi fall combo, tempura, gyoza, tofu, dynamite roll and house special rolls. We thought it was all great. The portions were generous, the fish was fresh and well presented, and the tofu and gyoza were just the right level of crispy. Would absolutely order from here again.
Ordered take out: Portions of fish in the Maki were very small and mostly rice. Nothing tasted fresh. Even the salad was a negative - it was washed but not dried, so it was full of water. There are many other sushi restaurants with better tasting food. Even the sushi I get at the Trainyards Walmart beats this place.
