The reviews are true - this place is next level good. Get the mixed wrap - the wrap bread makes all the difference. Plus the chicken and beef was delicious! It does get crazy busy at lunch to try and come at an off time if you don t want to have to wait!

This is the best shawarma in Ottawa hands down and I ve eaten at a lot of shawarma restaurants here over the last 10 years. They don t use regular pita bread and use Saj bread instead which makes a huge difference. I usually always order beef over chicken shawarma but their chicken is very tender and well seasoned. I ve eaten here several times now and will definitely be coming back for more. Enjoy!

It is no wonder they have this high rating. Although Ottawa has a lot of Shawarma places, this place offers the most authentic shawarma. I tried their beef shawarma and falafel wrap and they are just right. Totally recommended and I will come again to try their other items. The service is great as well, Tammam was very welcoming and friendly.

This food is spot on-traditional set up has bright lemon and pomegranate flavors in combination with the meat, lots of crunchy pickled vegetables on the side. Bread is thin and crispy. The guys were really nice and sent out some garlic potatoes with a yogurt sauce. Think middle eastern poutine price was good. I will be back! Vegetarian options: The salads look great

Like others have said, service was friendly and pleasant. Sodas are really cold, which is a new problem with many takeout places, but the food ... The garlic sauce barely had any garlic taste. The chicken and the beef had unusual textures. The potatoes were under seasoned The rice was dry The salad was in decent shape but the pickles were not top notch. There is clearly a suspicious amount of 5 stars reviews here, one of the hints is most of the reviews are made by accounts with only one review. *Gave it another chance, ordered the classic, guy asked combo? and confirmed I wanted fries. he then put fries in the fryer, but billed me for just the sandwich and I didnt notice. he then makes the sandwich gives it to me. I asked for the fries, he goes to the cash and prints the receipt and says you paid for the sandwich (which was true) so I just took the sandwich. but it was a weird interaction. Garlic still tastes like nothing and chicken was chewie

This was some solid shawarma. I was craving falafel and was stoked to see that they deep-fry it in front of you instead of microwaving it like a lot of other places do. They arent stingy on the sauces and a special shoutout to whatever salad dressing and sesame sauce they use because those were both delicious. Nice clean restaurant as well, you can see they really care about a tidy work space. Staff were very kind and charismatic and got my order fast. Definitely will visit again. Ive been trying different shawarma spots in town and this is officially my favorite. Ottawa is not short on good shawarma spots so its hard to go wrong. But this place is special. I had the traditional chicken and the traditional beef shawarmas. The chicken was easily the best shawarma I had in North America. Very well seasoned and juicy. Its also the star of the show, you taste it in every bite. As an added bonus, they even flame grilled the bread after soaking it in those delicious chicken juices. I highly recommend the chicken shawarma. The beef was good. A bit chewy and underseasoned in my opinion. I cant say its the best Ive had, but its top 3 in Ottawa (off the top, the traditional lamb shawarma at Royal Rooster is slightly better). But that said, it was very good and I would order again if I am craving beef. My gut tells me that the Fez beef would shine more as part of a platter meal, and if I ordered it during the day rather than in the late evening. Overall, this is a must try (especially the chicken). I will be back to try other items and platters. Great job Mr Fez, bloody well done.

Mr Fez is undoubtedly one of the best places to enjoy a delicious and generously garnished shawarma. The meat is perfectly seasoned and tender, the vegetables are fresh, and the sauces add just the right amount of flavor without being too heavy. The service is fast and warm, you feel really welcomed as soon as you walk through the door, especially by Yasser and Tammam. The portions are generous, and the value for money is excellent. Whether youre a shawarma fan or just looking for a nice, quick meal, I highly recommend this place!

Wow what a fantastic spot! The Classic Shawarma Plate was a mountain of food and flavor all for under $20! You can tell this place is a green by the shear amount of regulars and see you soons you hear when people grab their order and leave. Shawarma was amazing, the salad dressing they should bottle and the garlic sauce was top shelf... Like others I will be back.

Must try! Delicious I would suggest going anytime but maybe lunch hour on weekdays as it is packed. A victim of their own success I suggest the beef sharwama or salad traditional style. !!!!! 2 for 1 salads bowls after 2pm are a staple for dinner at my house. Yummy!

If you are travelling from GTA and want to east something in Ottawa, eat ANYWHERE ELSE but not in this shawarma place. Their images are misleading. This is the chicken shawarma power bowl, with white hard hard rice, dry chicken, almost no sauce, so saulty that you will puke Please save yourself, your money and eat somewhere else.

Wow... ordered the Shawarma poutine from ubereats, it was a bogo, how could I say no. Well, let me tell you! My first thought after seeing it was this looks good but looks small. It packs a punch! I was full after eating half. The poutine was delicious with depth of flavour. Lemon? Cumin? Mmmmm so much flavor, not just one note. I am quite surprised. I recommend trying this poutine. It seems like the depth of flavour is coming from the chicken. Which is surprising because I find most chicken from Shawarma places are one note. I recommend trying the Shwarma poutine from Mr Fez. I may be bias, got lucky, who knows but its worth the gamble.

Not the best tasting shawarma in town, but pretty darn good! My main complaint is that the shawarma platter does not come with any bread on the side. The place is very small and slightly dingy, but it doesnt interfere with the taste of the shawarma platter one bit. The platter is very traditional; chicken/potatoes/Rice/salad and garlic sauce (no hummus!). The potatoes came with hot sauce which was delightful. The rice portion is large but did not come with any sauce... I added some of my own soya sauce to add some taste. The chicken could have been cooked a bit longer, but still tasted good. Large portion, heavy on the meat. The price is slightly lower than other most popular shawarma places in Ottawa. All in all, not in my top 3 shawarma platter in Ottawa, but definitely good enough to go back again in the very near future.

Food was decent but pricey.

I had an amazing beef shawarma sandwich, and everything about it was perfect! The bread was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and the beef, along with all the toppings, was spot on. I added some spicy red paste and hot sauce for extra flavor. It s a bit messy, so make sure to bring some wet napkins or wipes. The place can be easy to miss, so I recommend parking nearby and walking over!

The shawarma was packed with flavor the meat was perfectly seasoned and juicy, while the fresh vegetables and sauces added the perfect balance. The pita was soft and warm, making every bite mouthwateringly good. The portions were generous, and the staff made the experience even better with their warm hospitality. If youre looking for authentic, top-quality shawarma, Mr. Fez is the place to go. Highly recommend!

This place is great! I messed up my order and they made me what I wanted even though they had already started with the original order. Original: FYI I came to get a classic platter for takeout Food: The platter was supposed to include garlic potatoes but they just gave Fries with garlic sauce on them, I was a bit shocked because it was misleading. Not sure why they did this, but it was certainly upsetting. Other than that the chicken was good, rice was a bit stale but alright. The service was very slow.

Used to eat here when I would come into the office 2 days a week. The owner support the governments RTO, wont be eating here again. Response to owner: You have publicly come out to support the RTO, in the paper, this decision is clearly a political one to appease business owners in the downtown core like yourself. While I have issues with the employer I also take issue with those who are publicly endorsing this move for profit.

I was in Ottawa for 2 days and this was my greatest find. Great food, great staff. The shawarma is delectable. Be brave and ask for the Spicy garlic, it will turn the heat on but very well worth it.
