We dined here a few years ago before the ownership change & loved the food. The past 2 attempts to dine here we showed up before 6 & were turned away and told Take out only by an abrasive kid. Food

I ve lived in Centretown for years and somehow missed this gem- it s a cute little taco restaurant tucked away behind the bustle of bank street. The tacos taste great, and the interior is very cozy and home-y.

Seriously the best tacos in Ottawa!!! Tonight they had a wild bore/venison taco that was out of this world. I truly hope they make this a regular item. Service is always fast, efficient and friendly. Tip large, they deserve it!!!

The food was fabulous. Best quesadilla Ive ever had. My wife loved the fact that everything was gluten-free. Shrimp tacos are excellent. The proprietor was quite friendly and obviously passionate about her culinary skills. We will be back in spite of the fact that the restaurant is 6 hours from our house and in a different country... Dietary restrictions: They are very accommodating, perhaps more so than anyone else Ive ever seen.

This place is amazing! If youre looking for great food, a warm and inviting atmosphere, and five star service, look no further than Tacolot Ottawa. Upon entering the restaurant, you will be greeted with some of the friendliest service that you will ever encounter. I cant think of many other restaurants Ive been to where the delightful chef will take your order, cook your food, and engage in conversation with you while youre at the restaurant. This was a truly unique experience, one of which I will not soon forget. Tacolot will be the first restaurant I visit when I return to Ottawa!

I just spent time watching a stressed out woman rushing to make everyones order, and 22 dollars (extra for steak, tip and tax included) on what turned out to be a side salad, that has a bug in it. Not great.

This place is adorable, delicious and super accommodation. As their regular chef says - everything they make is cooked with love and it is evident.

I see this place quite frequently and decided today to stop in. This place.... is amazing. We were greeted with service, smile and great conversation. The tacos were superior. I had the shrimp, chicken and pulled pork. Soooo tasty! I loved the mango salsa on the shrimp and the zestiness of the chicken. Will defo be stopping again there soon. Thank you Tacolot!!

Extremely quaint place. The woman who works there is quite talkative and not afraid to strike up a conversation. While the tacos may not satisfy people looking for an authentic experience, they are extremely flavorful, and are prepared & cooked fresh on-site. Would definitely come back.

nachos are heavenly - fried cheese and homefried tortillas cut in quarters, done right in front of us so its done hot. Very impressive and a nice touch that will have me coming back! Also super nice dude operating the lil joint!!

It surpassed my expectations, the shrimp tacos were 100/100.

Good and fresh. Nothing too spicy. Biggest minus is slow service (40 minutes for a table of 4 with the restaurant just about empty).

Came in for dinner when it was really slow; the waitress was cool and helpful with the menu. The food arrived quickly and was really good.

Amazing little gem just of bank street. The greetings I get are very warm and welcoming. I really do enjoy the experiences I get going here. The food is exceptional and very reccomended. I tend to stick with the slow braised pork. Grant it, it can be dry at times. The pickled cabbage and the guacamole is packed with flavor. Whenever I want to treat myself, this is the place I tend to go.

Pretty great, I had a beef & a pork Tacos, and they were very tasty. My companion said the fish tacos were some of the best. Will certainly come again the quasidia looked quite good.

House Restaurant with authentic flavors, terrific smell inside. Get there a few minutes before lunch. Try the special 2 Tacos, rice beans and side salad. The decor is small dining room. I need to go back when the fryer is repaired for the Whitefish Tacos. Wonderful service. I forgot to take a picture because I was distracted by my two Tacos.

Small shop, has a real back-alley vibe to it. Food is incredible. Ordered a small chicken burrito and it was far better and larger than I expected! Made my top-3 list for sure. Stopped by on a whim on a Thursday. Talented chef Brad works the counter Tuesday s to Saturday s and he s very friendly and takes his time perfecting each taco. Tacos are rich in flavour from a grounded rooted bean base, succulent meats and very zesty fresh toppings on top. Two different tacos (pork and fish) Each taco is built with intention. Would highly recommend!

We go almost every week at lunch time and this cute littlelittle house in the midle of highrise offers very good tacos. The guys are Grear, Funny, always Welcoming. The food is amazing. Keep it up !!

It was tasty but costly, $6 including tax for each taco any type.

Personable is the best way to describe this tiny eatery. The owner is the only employee and takes obvious pride in his work. I felt right at home with the mellow hip-hop and warm colors of the decor.

Great little hidden gem of a taco place!

Friendly and cool little place in Centretown. However, despite the good intentions, I am confident that this was the source of a recent bout of food poisoning, likely due to undercooked chicken. I have a familiarity with environmental public health and food safety issues, as well as a background in food-borne illness and the little microorganisms that cause them :-). It is our civic duty to report incidence or even suspected incidence of food-borne illness right away; and unfortunately I will have to be doing this.

Service was super slow even when there was only one other customer. The cook didnt use gloves and scratched himself while preparing tacos. The tacos were overpriced and the ingredients were cheap. Im surprised by all the positive reviews...

Delicious Tacos!

I went during a busy time (right at lunch rush) and the staff were super happy and delightful. Although the wait may be a bit more than a fast food place, it is certainly worth it. I had pork, beef, and chicken tacos and they were all tasty. The place feels bigger on the inside which had a really cool vibe going for it. I highly recommend if you have the time.

Expensive and made myself and my friend very ill unfortunately. The food did taste good but the chicken in the burritos may have been under cooked or something else happened with the food. Tip to the cook: Dont be afraid to brown the chicken and use a lot of heat.

The friendliest service and delicious food! I highly recommend the pork- it s got a bit of kick from the chilies and a bit of sweetness from the pineapple. With a bit of hot sauce, this is the best burrito I ve had in a while!

So happy I found this place lots of Gluten free options and one of the best tasting places Ive found in Ottawa.

I had the best restaurant meal that I have had in years at Tacolot - Nepean St. My taco plate was fresh, tasty, and authentic. I have traveled extensively in Central and South America and Tacolot was reminiscent of many of the local and North American run restaurants where I enjoyed meals. It was clean, simple, friendly, tasteful, and had a nice atmosphere. The staff appeared to take personal pride in the establishment and meals. I felt they were sincere, pleasant, and attentive. I left feeling energized instead of tired after eating a heavy restaurant meal that is typical of other places. It just goes to prove that pride and love added to a meal has a positive affect on energy :) Thanks!
