This place is very accommodating to allergy requests. I havent had Chinese food for years and decided to order here because of how accommodating they were. Food was great. I would order from here again

This is the first time that I have ordered food from this restaurant. Generous size orders, Excellent food, But the black bean pepper steak had small bones in it which my wife and I have never seen in any restaurant, And unfortunately my wife chipped a tooth which left me very disappointed with the lazy chef who couldnt cut the small bones out of his meat. Because of this I dont know if I could ever eat in this restaurant again.

My dad is very picky about his food quality, and weve tried all the good Chinese places around town, all mediocre. Tried this place out after seeing some promising reviews and hes finally said this is the best Chinese food hes had in Ottawa. Similar to his favourite Chinese food back home in Australia. 10/10 recommend for the closest to non-Canadian Chinese food in Ottawa.

The scallion chicken is delicious and authentic. I have repurchased it many times.

I was craving a late night snack and ordered a #1 combo plate just before close (about 25 mins prior to closing time). The food was so good! The portion was ever-so generous! The egg roll was so crunchy and crispy! Yummy! No complaints whatsoever. So happy to have a good Chinese place in the neighbourhood.

This isn t your average westernized Chinese take-out spot. This is authentic, traditional Cantonese/Guangzhou/HK-style cooking. If you want really good Chinese food that even older Asian generations can appreciate, come here. So happy to have found this spot a few weeks ago and will definitely be a regular. The owner was so friendly and kind, great customer service and hella fast. Vegetarian options: Buddhas delight and braised mushroom dishes are a chefs kiss.

I ordered the ubereats multiple times. This was the first time I had dinner here. The vegetables were fresh!!! The dishes had the real wok hey! The owner was nice and the service was pretty good. Will come back again!

S&P beef short ribs: could go without the breading. Good portion and taste. 4/5 S&P Japanese tofu: rare restaurant that offers this in Ottawa, best version yet. 5/5 Beef and daikon: authentic but beef could be more tender. 4/5 Fish and tofu: too much breading on the fish (mostly breading). Taste is ok. 3/5 Braised free run chicken with scallion: they managed to get the salt to permeate into the meat without it being too salty on the outside. Very fresh. 5/5

The combo plate 9 was what I ordered, no cutlery like I put in the delivery order. Chicken balls are as tough as if they were nuked in the microwave, tao chicken was a little more tender, enough rice to feed an army. Chicken balls had small piece of chicken and thick tough dough that went into the garbage. Spring rolls were OK, as was egg roll that came with the combo plate. Maybe if I dine in I would have more choices, I am at work and couldnt order off the menu and have a ton of leftovers. It was delivery, so no idea what the atmosphere is or the service, Uber couldnt figure out where to go, even though I had give clear instructions.

Listen, the reviews all say the portions are generous. They do NOT lie! we over ordered thinking that it would be like some other take outs we have ordered from in the past. We will have leftovers for days! And its all so good! Do it. You will not regret.

Ordered Almond Soo Guy and they forgot the gravy so the chicken was very dry. Chicken balls were also very chewy/stale and sweet & sour sauce tasted watered down. However, the chicken fried rice was fresh and delicious, the spicy crispy beef was yummy and the delivery was very friendly! Just not worth the amount we paid.

I used to love the hot and sour soups, but after receiving my order tonight I was ridiculously disappointed. It was water, and was missing 3 ingredients. Literally hot water. Will not be returning, what a disappointment.

Used to love this place but sadly just had the worst experience ever - everything was wrong! Spring rolls were tiny grocery store kind, not made in house like they used to be. Szechwan tofu dish was obviously a blackbean tofu leftover from the night before - tofu was cold and crunchy, and found a metal staple in it! Mixed veg was nothing but broccoli and onion. Plum sauce was watered down. And worst of all the steamed rice was obviously scrapped off the bottom of the steamer. How can an Asian restaurant screw up rice!?! Sorry Asian Palace, never again.

We get this every other month and it s always been good.

Ordered at 7.21 this evening, and received confirmation that the food would be delivered at 8.17pm. At 9.21pm the food had still not arrived, having tried to call the restaurant many times. Eventually got through to the delivery company who told me the order had been cancelled as they were too busy. They were happy to take the order. Scumbags

New Owners at my local Chinese place. Absolutely wonderful. Our selection of foods were hot and fresh . The Rice I specifically asked for with no Soy Sauce was just to my liking. Im pretty fussy about my Special Fried Rice so i was very impressed with the new Owner paying attention to my fussy needs.. Well done Guys, keep up the good work. We will be using them again.

They replaced Asian Palace and it appears a lot of the negative reviews here reflect the previous restaurant. Weve ordered twice since they opened a couple of weeks ago and were impressed (especially with the eggplant dishes). Very friendly, accurate estimates for pickup times and a 10 percent discount for grabbing it yourself. My only suggestion: add more beef/pork/shrimp options to the individual combos (besides chicken dishes). Looking forward to trying more dishes from the extensive menu. Welcome to the neighbourhood!

First time trying it this restaurant since it the old Asian Palace closed back in July 2023. The food is good and the owner quite nice. The price is quite good and the portions larger than I get in other restaurants. I will return and try other things from the menu.

My first visit back since new ownership and I am pleasantly surprised. Online ordering was a breeze and food was ready and waiting hot and on-time as promised. Portions were generous. Ordered a combo plate to try out a few things and everything was quite tasty. I did find the General-Tsos chicken to be a little too citrus (maybe?) flavoured for my liking but it was still good - will be trying some other offerings from their menu. Overall happy and impressed. I will definitely return, please keep up the good work!

It was delicious, way better than the previous owner in that location. Fried rice was perfect; not over cooked and the chicken was still juicy. A good amount of chicken in the chop suey. The general Tao chicken could ve been a bit spicier but it was still yummy. Their egg rolls were the best I ve had in a long time. Definitely worth a visit!

I have been to Singapore twice in the past two years and this place kind of reminds me of the type of food that you would get at a Hawker stall. It is absolutely delicious and I feel like they use a lot less msg and salt than typical places. The portion sizes are amazing for the price and the gentleman was passionate and friendly. I heard of this place from word of mouth. The very next day, another 4 friends and family had already tried it. Everyone was very pleased, and my mother is already planning the next one. We are very glad something decent finally opened up close by without having to drive to Merivale or Chinatown. It would be great if they can have an option for choosing dishes for the family dinners instead of the set ones. We are hoping the quality/portion/prices will not change any time soon.

Awesome food at a fantastic price! It was also really hot! By the time we were eating, ~25 minutes after pickup, it was still steaming hot! Service was fast and the person who served me was really nice. The storefront was also clean and uncluttered. Really easy to get in and out. Definitely ordering here again (and again) Vegetarian options: A few vegetable and tofu only dishes. Unfortunately Im not sure how flexible they are with substitutions. The food is authentic and delicious, and the price is good. It s the first time I ve seen a takeaway with sweets. The details are very good. However, it is recommended to change the brand of disposable chopsticks for takeout. The current brand has a strong smell and makes you vomit after one bite.

All I ever wanted since immigrating from Jordan to Ottawa was a nearby restaurant that can cook a decent beef fried rice dish. Wok Hey! has delivered exceptionally and at a competitive price. My girlfriend and I ordered the beef fried rice and Cantonese braised chicken and we were given a truly 5 star worthy meal. The food was: - ready on time - well packaged - plentiful - fresh off the stove hot I wanted to leave pictures of both meals but we literally could not wait to devour.

I found this place by asking my cars computer on my way home and ... WOW! It reminded me of the Chinese food my parents used to bring home. The service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be going back when I crave Chinese food. Parking: Being located in a strip mall, parking is easy as pie!

Stopped in for the lunch special - can t beat the value. New owners are also super friendly! 10/10 will return. Just be wary that there isn t much space to eat in (3 spots at the window) so best for takeout probably!

Tasty Chinese takeaway! Some of the best chicken fried rice Ive had. Garlic spareribs couldve been a touch saucier but still pretty tasty, and the hot and sour soup was really warming and spiced at about the right level. Sadly almost no gluten-free options aside from a few veggie dishes, but maybe thatll change with time. Im looking forward to trying more dishes from Wok Hey!

I am Never disappointed with the quality of dishes that comes out of this kitchen. And my most recent meal someone raised the bar! Beef and rice with Chinese greens and General Tao s Chicken. My only problem was when I got full and couldn t eat any more. It s always a pleasure chatting with the staff about their traditional approach to their menu items. The service is friendly, the food comes out piping hot and fresh, and the portions are generous. Do yourself a favour and give them a try! You won t be disappointed :)

The texture and flavour of the chicken are amazing and authentic! Plus the store owner is warm and nice. I will definitely try other dishes next time!

Wow, that was bad. Garlic spare ribs not terrible tasting but plenty of gristle to chew around. General Tao wouldnt put these guys on KP duty because they shouldnt be near a kitchen. Couldnt stick a fork into the GT chicken and what I did get in my mouth was blech. Fried rice I ate to get through the day but Im worried about my evening. Also, I had to pay cash because they couldnt figure out the three different card machines. Buyer beware.

Rice seemed old and hard and they tried to mask by adding extra soya sauce.. quite honestly everything was inedible and taste like pure salt and fish sauce. Egg roll had 2 pieces of some kind of bone in it. Maybe I caught then on a bad night but was beyond disappounted

This place used to be amazing - not any more. The prices are up, quality down and dont even think about asking for them not to put in something allergy related - we ended up throwing out two things because of addition of the allergic item. Never again - dont waste your money

This used to be my favourite Chinese food restaurant, unfortunately the last few times Ive ordered the quality isnt there anymore. I ordered tofu and vegetables and the tofu was hard as a rock and there were hardly any vegetables in it. Just some overcooked broccoli and mini corn. The spring rolls used to be skinny and crisp, now theyre thick and doughy. Battered shrimp balls hardly had any shrimp in it. I guess well be looking for a new go to spot.

I just ordered today. It was without a doubt the worst meal I have ever had. I ordered lemon chicken. I don t know what the meat was but it was unlike any chicken I have ever eaten. I chewed and chewed and there s no way that I could even swallow it. The wonton soup tasted weird and the spring rolls were OK but not great. I will never order from this restaurant again!!!!!

I love this place. Tasty, healthy food with fast, polite service. Ive ordered here a number of times and never had any issue. Food is very consistent and pretty much what Id expect it to be. Their specials prices are great and the portions are generous. The texture of the szechuan tofu with cashews was amazing.

This will be the last time I give this place a 2nd chance (more like third, fourth, fifth)....I literally threw over $100 of food in the green bin. . The food quality has steadily and significantly dropped over the years. Save yourself some money and order takeout from Mandarin buffet where the Chinese food isnt the greatest Ive ever had but its consistently mediocre and considerably cheaper.

I ordered food from Asian palace over Uber eats. I was incredibly disappointed by my order. The spare ribs I ordered were overcooked and hard. The sweet and sour chicken balls were sauceless. The rice was wet and mushy. And the egg rolls were undercooked. This was my first experience eating their food and I can say Id never recommend or eat this food again.

I have just discovered this place right near my home and I cant believe how amazing their food taste. I have been order from Ruby Inn for years and now I am switching to them for tastier food, bigger portion and cheaper price.

I ordered a dish that came with shrimp and pork because I specifically wanted shrimp. I asked to sub pork for tofu and they charged me extra for the sub despite the fact that tofu is far cheaper than pork. I got home and found only 2 shrimp in the whole dish. Disappointing to say the least and not worth the higher end price.

I was highly disappointed .. and I never leave reviews. But I feel I had to. The general taos is horrible and the chicken is fatty and doesnt even taste like chicken. The chop sue was the only thing rated a 2 and the chicken in that was also as if It was old processed chicken just horrible. The rice.... bland... no taste and gross. Than I said okay egg roll it is.... nope.. undercooked and soggy. My husband came home and I showed him it he was excited as well until he tried it. The customer service was great! The gentleman was very friendly and upbeat. Really disappointing to see the food delivered with such a low quality

Moved to the area and realized this little takeout restaurant in the McCarthy Plaza, and soon it became our to go spot for Chinese food. Price is right, portion is generous and food is very tasty, we will definitely be back over and over again.

Hey! Please change your chef or you shutdown the place. First: it was suppose to be shrimp veggies and not just one particular veggies in it. The shrimps were looking sick and it was just few, then it was so tasteless. I should have prepared food at home but was too tired to make dinner. The steam rice was uncooked. I regret ordering and it might just be my last.

I take back every nice thing I said about this place. Food was 45 min late, cold and not even what I ordered. And the want me to find my own way to the shop to get my refund. The entire idea of delivery is to not go out.

This restaurant has changed hands a number of times over the years, and no longer offers the same consistent quality and service it once did. My familys last order was all completely inedible, and that had never happened before. Prices have made significant jumps, too... over $20 for a dozen spring rolls, now? Are you kidding? We wont be ordering from here anymore, and its such a shame after being our go-to for more than a decade.

I ordered 2 combination plates (each with chicken fried rice and chicken balls, one with general tso chicken and the other with spicy beef), a fried noodle plate and 2 extra egg rolls for delivery. The order took awhile to deliver but thats to be expected on a Friday night. The chicken fried rice on both plates came over-fried (it was dark dark brown and tasted burnt) and neither the general tso or spicy beef were spicy whatsoever. The sweet and sour sauce on the chicken balls and the sauce on the spicy beef tasted bizarre compared to others Ive tried. The only positives of the order were the egg rolls (which were delicious) and the green candies they include, however I would have preferred fortune cookies. This was my first time ordering from Asian Palace and they had great reviews on Skip the Dishes but overall Im disappointed.

They always have delicious food and are accurate with deliveries.

I ordered hunan dumplings, chicken fried rice and general tao. The dumplings were good but it ends there. The general tao was refried or reheated chicken was hard and dry not comestible. The fried rice was also dry and tasted burnt. I am chef by trade and have had my share of food all around and I can say this was the worst Ive ever had. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else. I would put 0 stars if I could thats how bad it was.

Not the best best in the city but great for the price and great tofu dish selections. This is a great place for vegetarians and I love that you can chose your heat level for most dishes. Also great that you only need to spend $15 minimum for free delivery. But what really put this place over the top is the AMAZING customer service which is incomparable to other Chinese food places. I started ordering through skip the dishes and and the app totally failed me to the point where I was in tears. I gave up on skip the dishes customer service and called the restaurant. Even though the issue was with the app and the restaurant had no fault, the manager repeated my order and had the food delivered as quickly as possible. Let me repeat, the fault was on th app, and the restaurant still corrected the issue. Even another time, we were not satisfied with a dish and they compensated us, with very little questions asked. I refuse to order from anywhere else in my area because of this. They treat repeat customers well because they actually have your info saved so when you call in, you dont need to give your details over and over again. Thank you Asian Palace for making me feel like my business matters to you and for the great prices and food.

First, I m going to start by thanking the workers. Went in last night at 10:20 not realizing they were ready to close. they insisted so I ordered general tao plate. Plate came out really good, far better than what I expected!

I used to order from here all the time but i have seen the quality of the food drastically decline. After our meal tonight which was horrible quality and we experienced really sharp shards of something in the fried rice, I dont think we will be ordering from here again. Shame because they had really good food a year or two ago.

They specialize in hot Thai dishes, including an authentic (i.e. hot) Hunan chicken. Low prices and good food as far as my experience goes.

I should have known better than to order Thai from this place. Got the red curry home and it is completely inedible due to the spice level. I called and was told that their Thai is always really spicy which it does not say on the menu. They refused to do anything for me. NEVER AGAIN

I dont believe so many people got food poisoning or sick after eating food ordered from this restaurant. It looks like the owner offenced some people and they wrote those reviews as revenges. I ordered from them many times and the food is always great. Their delivery guys are always friendly.

Crispy beef awesome, best beef and broccoli around , friendly good service. Don t believe the bad reviews. Searched all places in Ottawa this one I order the most from.

The food is tasty and fresh. Unlike a lot of Chinese takeout places, the food here is light, not greasy and seasoned just perfectly. This is as close to a healthy and tasty home cook meal as you can get from a Chinese restaurant.

after the new owner took over, the food is great and great portions for the food not like before your searching for the beef or chicken. I appreciate the staff specially the owner Luke. the food hot and for sure the best Chinese food in the south

Drived up to Ottawa from Toronto to attend my friends wedding party. We ordered some Chinese and Thai food including Egg rolls, Red curry chicken, General Tao, Beef broccoli and Chicken ball. They are awesome, especially the egg rolls. We stayed in Holliday Inn (they are awesome as well). Asian Palace delivered to us in exactly the time range they promised. So glad we choosed them. My husband told me this is the best Chinese Food Take out restaurant ever. Thumb up!

Ordered bbq pork and woke up with food poisoning. 1 star earned for consistency.

The food was awesome. However, Im giving it 1 star because within about an hour of eating their Thai Green Curry yesterday, I had food poisoning. I will no longer be ordering from them.

Great chinese take out. plus they have some house special option which the most chinese take out restaurants dont have.

The food is always great (except for spare ribs) and we have been ordering from this place for a few years. HOWEVER, my latest experience with them has changed my mind. We tipped the driver a good amount and he came back asking for more tip! Lost 2 stars and my business.
