"Delicious Thai cuisine awaits at our authentic Champa Thai restaurant. From savoury curries to tangy salads, our menu offers a wide variety of traditional Thai dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our chefs have years of experience creating mouth-watering dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to Thailand. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meal or a light snack, we have something for everyone. We offer take-out and delivery options for your convenience."
Pad Thai was sweeter than expected and tasted like it may have been seasoned with ketchup. Everything was ok, sufficient for takeout, but not a first choice for dine in.
Predominantly a takeout place but they do have very limited seating for 6-8 people. The food tasted good but the portion size was quite questionable. Ordered the chicken pad kee mow and even though I liked the taste, it had more veggies than rice noddle and chicken. It was more like a vegetable stir fry which is unacceptable for the price charged. Not sure why they would adapt this type of disproportion.. Tom yum did not really taste or look like tom yum at all. It was a clear chicken soup. Shrimp spring rolls were great.
This is a place we just keep coming back to! The beef salad is amazing (pictured); the green curry, tom kha, chicken satay, really everything we've ordered has been delicious (and if it's meant to be spicy, it actually is!) I know we'll return soon! Thank you Champa!
I ordered the combo 5 for a take out. The guy who attended to me was very courteous, the food was delicious, tasty and couldn’t get over the savoury texture of the veggies and protein. The best Thai food I’ve tasted was gotten here. I give it to you guys 💐.
Best Thai restaurant in Byward market without question, and its family owned! 🇹🇭🍛 I've ordered numerous times, and the quality is consistently spot on. 👌 The combo deals offer a great value and let you try a few different items in smaller portions - great for a single person!
SOOOO AMAZING!!!! Could not recommend enough!!! We had the chicken pad thai and shrimp pad see-leu and it was to die for! The staff were so lovely and sweet. We had such a great experience. The food, the speed, the service, the small, homey atmosphere with the big window was just perfect. The pad thai came with the most beautiful carved carrot butterfly and that completely made my day!!! 🦋🥕
This place has the best chicken fried rice I have ever had. Well maybe in Canada. The shrimp spring rolls are to die for and the fried chicken appetizers are so good. They remind me of Nigerian fried chicken. I asked for some chilli peppers and they gave me these dried peppers that elevated the meal to the next level.
I'm really into this family run Thai place. The flavours are well balanced; no overly cloying sweetness and muted spiciness like other Americanized (canadianized???) Thank places. I think their dinner sets are good value as they also come with soup. I'm eager to go try their lunch combos as well. Service was nice and checked in me multiple times.
Ordered their Pad Kee Mao and the flavors were spot on! The type of noodle is not the wide rice noodles I was hoping to see, but overall still super delicious :)
Delicious!
Nice little spot for Thai. Walked by and had to give it a try. Try out the lunch s !!! I ll be going again.
The best Thai food take out in town, the spicy chicken wings are made perfect. Pineapple rice impeccably seasoned and the panang curry is so delicious.
I literally just finished eating the BEST Tom Kah Goong (shrimp) soup with an extra of vegetables. It was a generous portion of tasty, just right spicy soup made with coconut milk and super fresh ingredients. It brought a tear to my eye This is my new regular spot when I ll visit Ottawa.
Pad Thai is delicious and authentic! Highly recommended this restaurant.
Prices went up in recent years but their recipe on their curry are very hard to beat..
I always love the food at Champa but there is one chef in particular who always takes it to the next level. Whomever was cooking tonight, Aug 29, you are a blessing and I love you. The pad-se and panag go hard.
Our go-to place for take out Thai food for many years.
Used to come here OFTEN about 5-6 years ago. Recently got 2 shrimp pad thai and a beef pad thai. The shrimp pad thai had 4 shrimp in the entire dish. We laughed about it, thinking it was a mistake, but then we checked the other, and nope! With 4 shrimp and very minimal vegetables, we paid about 20$ each padthai for mostly a plate of noodles (albeit decently noodles). Beef pad thai was in a very similar state. Really should think about distribution. It may sound like a minor gripe, but its made a recurring customer not continue with your business. I loved your food, reminded me of my time in thailand. Hope this helps. In this restaurants current state, i cant recommend it. A few years ago? Absolutely! Have a good day
The green curry was ok. The pad thai (with veggies and tofu) tasted like the noodles and peanuts had been sitting way past expiry. Overall tasted like the food was in old oil used for meat and microwaved after going bad. Also, the menu showed that the green curry and pad thai were both $1 less than I was charged. When I asked, I was told it was the system.
Amazing food and super friendly staff! Get one of the combos, you will not regret it!
Pad thai was great, if you want it to be spicy you need to ask
I have ordered many times, not consistent.
Friendly staff and authentic Thai food. Couldnt get any better than this. Reminds me exactly of our trip to Bangkok
Had a craving for Lao Papaya Salad and this place did not disappoint. Easily one of the best Ive had from a restaurant. Serving size was enough for 2 people. I requested it spicy and it was perfectly spicy without drowning out the rest of the flavors. 5 stars for the Papaya Salad. Beef salad was ok, but more of a stir fry than a salad. Was expecting it to come cold with herbs and spices. Instead it came hot with mostly just shallots. 3 stars. Sticky rice was way too sticky and wet to be satisfying eating it Lao style. Probably the packaging more than the cooking. 4 stars just because it was on the menu. Definitely recommended, Ill order again.
Absolutely delicious, take-out was ready before I could find my car keys!
It tastes like food in Thailand. Best Tom Kha in the city! Affordable price, friendly stuff.
Amazing flavour, great value and absolutely delicious
The food is incredible. This is quite simply the best Thai takeout in the city. The Stir Fried Chicken with Basil Topped with Fried Egg thats available as a lunch special is delicious. Their green curry is fantastic and the mango salad is something I could happily eat every day.
Nice outing - small dining room but you see that the food is appreciated from the volume of takeout orders exiting the front counter. A 15 min walk from the National Gallery
Given the high level of traffic at the restaurant, we were served correctly and within a reasonable time. I chose a chicken pad Se-Leu. Way too oily and very little chicken. The vegetables tasted of nothing except cooking oil.
Not too saucy. Hypoallergenic. Offer gluten free soy sauce. Remade a shrimp meal for us when we noticed the shrimp was battered. Really lovely menu. Pad Thai, curries, tom yum soup etc. Protein selection for meals: Tofu, Chicken , beef. Small bathroom; atleast they have one. No parking lot. Park on street.
Such delicious food! Enjoyed the green curry immensely, it was an amazing portion and packed full of flavor. Probably the best green curry I ve ever had
Reasonably priced food with EXCELLENT quality. Always fresh veggies, good-sized portions and fast service.
I have been ordering from this place for years. If you re indecisive, get the green curry with shrimp and a side of sticky rice and thank me later. Note that is more on the spicy side, which I m sure you could ask to modify!
It is no exaggeration to say that this is the Thai restaurant I am most satisfied with in Ottawa. It is full of flavor and reasonably priced. A combo of more than 20 cad includes curry rice stir-fry and tom yum soup. I think their cream soup is not the best. Losing to the tom yum soup, the spring rolls are not the small frozen spring rolls in the supermarket but three very large ones, freshly fried and crispy. I used to be very sensitive to the taste of fish sauce, and their dishes have just the right proportion of fish sauce. The cashews in the mango salad are very fragrant, and the Thai milk tea is also delicious. It is worth going back again and again.
Always great good.
We just had the best Thai food I have ever tasted!! Champa Thai will be our new go to Thai place. Highly recommend. !!
My absolute favourite spot for great Thai food! Friendly staff, amazing food and usually not busy at all.
Good thai place, I really like the peanut crispy chicken. Only thing is the food is a bit on the sweet side for me. Specifically the tom kha soup, its still good tho.
Small restaurant.... But the coconut shrimp soup.... Holy..........., its a must, absolutely delicious
Do not be fooled by this location, first time here and was unsure if dine in was possible. I am so happy we found this place. Such a hidden gem. I always drive by here when I am in town. Absolutely authentic Thai food and tastes delicious! I ordered The red curry pineapple, Lao papaya salad and combo 1. Everything was delicious, papaya salad was a little too salty but that didn t bother me, the spice was perfect. Definitely coming back here when I m in town. Vegetarian options: Substitutions was available
My order was delayed by 40 minutes. The lady told me it was on the way, but it took forever. The food was so oily and had a bad taste. They wasted my time with this food. Im never going back to this place.
Order over the phone or in person, not on the online ordering system. Our online order got lost as they were very busy, but I d still give them 5 stars as they were very apologetic, solved our issue very quickly, and served us incredible food
My absolute favourite food and takeaway in Ottawa. Sooooo good. The green curry is to die for. I also love the fried rice and noodles dishes. Always arrives so fresh and hot. Id give six stars if I could!
A wonderful experience! We were heartily welcomed and could taste savoury, spicy and superb Thai cuisine. Do not expect to bask in luxury but the welcome and the food more than make up for it. The combos are also a great deal!
Really disappointing. Incredibly watery red curry. Bland. Excellent veggie rolls, but otherwise, not good.
Excellent pad thai and the egg rolls were phenomenal.
Green curry and pad thai are the best!
I got the combo #2. Wasn t overly greasy or too sweet and tasted great. Portion size was very big too. Good value and good quality.
Having been to Thailand, I would say that this is the restaurant that is closest to what I ate there, after having tried several in Ottawa. I recommend!
Best Thai food in Ottawa!
Amazing Thai food and our go to stop for takeout for YEARS. It s all made fresh and the service is excellent. A true hidden gem in Ottawa that s worth the stop for some of the best takeout in town. The pad Thai and the Champa Thai chicken are both to die for.
The chicken pad thai was absolutely delicious..the staff is absolutely friendly. The experience was amazing. It was worth the 30 minute walk in snow to get here.. Thank you
Google information is wrong! There is few tables inside of the restaurant so you can dine-in. It was my first order my partner and I ordered Pat Thai and the other noodle dish(sorry I forgot the name of it) and Egg rolls to go. I was so excited because this place has 4.7 stars but the food tastes werent that great tbh. The staff and service, portions of the foods were great
Yellow curry, green curry, and tom kha gai... This is my happy place! Been eating here for probably two decades and they consistently deliver excellent food. For me personally, I especially appreciate the fact that the chicken is all white meat as well.
I ordered the red curry with rice and coconut soup for Delivery. It took around 50min to arrive and everything was piping hot and delicious. It was exactly what I needed to fill my belly after a long day of travelling. Would definitely order here again. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options.
This is an amazing little restaurant with authentic Thai food. Soooo good and worth every penny.
Excellent !!
Good Thai food. The chicken was cooked to perfection. We loved the spring roll. It was oily or soggy or salty. Give it a try when you have the interest for good Asian curry. Recommended dishes
The food is fresh delicious and service is always great! Best place for Thai food
I really liked the pad Thai and chicken stir fry with basil.
God portion sizes. The green curry and mango salad were delicious.
The chicken here is absolutely amazing juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Whether you prefer it fried, grilled, or roasted, they have a variety of options to satisfy your cravings.
One of the best places to get thai food and friendly staff. The egg rolls were excellent and pad se leu was delicious. Recommended dishes Rolls, Stir Fried with Basil Chicken
A long time pillar of take out in the Market and Lowertown. Champa always satisfies, the food is amazing, the staff are always so friendly and considerate, lightning fast times (when they arent crazy busy - which is understandable. Their curries are top notch. Prices and portions are very fair and food is fresh. Parking: Right on King Edward if its late and around the corner in the neighbourhood. Wheelchair accessibility: None
Curry is pretty good but little wok hei and very overcooked beef for the stir fry
Decent family kitchen thai food, price slightly higher than last year but I don t blame them, yep it was my second time in the restaurant I was here one year ago and I returned simple for the good food. No disappointment.
Love the food especially the vegetarian green curry. Usa is such a nice owner. Sure is still there(old owner). Its a lovely family affair and the food is delicious. One of the few places that is happy to let me read the ingredients packages and no carageenan found. Looking forward to another decade of lovely Thai food.
Best Thai in Ottawa. Been going for years!
Tasty, authentic, well priced and varied menu choices!! My go-to for mango salad! One modification I make to the Tom Kha is add lime at home. But otherwise perfect!
One of the best Tom Kha Shrimp I ve had The chicken satay was delicious as well. Love love love
One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Ottawa - and absolutely love that it s a family run business. I would highly recommend the combos that they have - very reasonably priced, and you get to try multiple dishes including appetizers like soup and spring rolls, and mains including various stir fries and curries. Everything came packaged impeccably and the portions were super generous. Absolutely recommend!
Ordered from Champa Thai for the first time tonight and it s definitely the best Thai I ve had in Ottawa! Will definitely order again!
Green curry is the best, must try!
Nice little corner shop cooking up some great Thai dishes. Delicious for sure! It will definitely be my go to Thai restaurant in Ottawa from now on.
Ordered takeout today. Soup was inedible and the chicken wings was just coated in very thick flour.
Magnificent little restaurant. A great surprise. A must to try
We picked up a dinner here and it was a quick pick up, friendly service and delicious food! The combos are a few dollars more than a single entree, but what a deal! The portions are generous and you get spring rolls, soup and two smaller entrees with rice! We were full and happy. Thank you Champa!
I recently visited this Thai restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food and the service provided. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I ordered the chicken pad thai and it was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. The portion size was generous and I left feeling completely satisfied. I also appreciated the attention to detail, such as the beautiful carrot butterfly that came with the dish. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and flavorful Thai cuisine in Ottawa.
They are cheating people without menu card in the hotel. The price of combo is $19 in the Google photo. We ordered by phone and went there for pickup. At that time, we were shocked. Because, they charged us $30+tax for one chicken combo. And they said, price was changed as $23.50 before 6 months back. Again the price was changed now as $30+tax. So, I am not satisfied with them. Food taste is ok and the rice is very sweet. Itsnot worth for money. But they cheated us. Because in their website itself, the price is $23.50 only.
It s a cute neighborhood restaurant run by a Thai family. It seems to be mainly a delivery/takeout restaurant with 3 tables. The food is all delicious, but a bit salty so I only had one bowl of rice. I recommend ordering it and eating it together. Thai iced tea is served in cans.
Expensive, an one person combo is $29 tax in. They didnt even give me utensils for takeout. Taste is good though.
Did a take out and the food was amazing. Small neighbourhood place, a bit pricier but great taste.
You cant sit there but the quality of food and service definitely makes up for it! Delicious food!
This was my most authentic Thai experience outside Thailand. Tom kha soup was so amazing. All the ingredients, nothing less, nothing more. The place is tiny, yet cozy. I did order a take out though. Fish cakes had a perfect balance between chewy and firm. Extremely happy with the place. Worth driving from Montreal! Thank you
The best Thai food in Ottawa. Everything they make they put soul into, incredible flavour in each dish, and totally consistent in quality. I cant believe it took me so long to find them, even living in the neighbourhood for years, but now that I have, they will be my go-to for take-out. Love them! Dietary restrictions: Really accommodating and kind about requests. Im so grateful!
I had the green curry with jasmine rice and it was so flavourful with a nice spice level! I will definitely be returning.
This was the absolute best Thai cuisine Ive ever had! Very authentic and flavorable! Friendly staff! Definitely go here when in Ottawa! Walking distance from Byward Market!
Its cheap and delicious, but I really cant stay there without air conditioning in the summer, so I can only buy it and go. Their takeout is super popular. I saw that they have a lot of takeout orders, so I had to wait 20-30 minutes before I could eat.
Really good food; just wish there was more of it!
A diamond in the rough! Truly delicious creamy curries, and the ladies cooking it up are legit. This was a great find!
Really enjoyed the Pad Thai and Penang curry. Delicious and good value.
Amazing! Best Thai I have had in Ottawa, great service super nice staff! you gotta eat here!
Super love this restaurant. Food is excellent and just like eating in Thailand. I ordered the combo with red curry and pad kee mao with shrimps (spicy). The spring rolls are still very crispy after 20mins. Highly recommended: red curry, rolls, pad kee mao (hot)
Best Thai Food in Ottawa! Had an amazing meal there with my Mom, Sister and 2 kids. Will definitely be back!
We took takeaway. It was good.
Everything we had was delicious, full of flavour. Will recommend to everyone. Food
I haven t had panang curry that was this good since I was in Thailand! Very tasty. Their mild pad thai was also superb.
*****Updated***** Happy to report that the spice level is back and the satay is also back to it s original deliciousness. Review updated to reflect this This used to be our go to for Thai and we would order once a week, however they must have changed something recently because it s not as good. The spice level has decreased significantly. We ordered the pad Thai spicy twice now and it s like ordering it from any place. No spice. Same for the panaang curry. Not spicy at all. Also they changed the satay and their peanut sauce. They were my daughter s favorite but she s now extremely disappointed that they don t taste as good. A shame really
Family run small restaurant. Ordered a beef green curry, chicken badil stir fry, papaya salad and some rice for take out and was advised that they were currently very busy and can take more than 20 min before I paid which I apreciated. The staff was very welcoming. Not sure if that day was exceptional, as I waited, the staff seem to be overwhelmed as every takeout apps that were coming in had to wait for their order. I ended up waiting a total of 50 min after paying. I was not offered an explanation but suspect that my order was forgotten from the bit and pieces that I overheard. The food was excellent, spice was on point and the taste was authentic based from eating often at my Thai friends family.
Soooo delicious!!! Were in Ottawa for 4 days and ate here every evening. The waitress and cooks were so nice!
Very small place, with only 3 tables. Excellent service. Good food with reasonable prices. Im not an expert on Thai food, but it pleased my oriental palate.
I have eaten here twice. One dine in and the other take out. The taste of the food will always be amazing, but the portions are quite small compared to the price. I would still recommend it though. When they mean spicy they mean spicy !
Absolutely fantastic food, and above and beyond service! Id placed the order online but a glitch prevented the order from reaching the restaurant. When I got there, they made the food Id ordered in record time and i was soon on my way! Absolutely blown away, and you will be too!
Small little restaurant but packed with great yummy food. The restaurant is not flashy or anything, just simply good Thai food! I could use a bit more rice with the Penang curry chicken.
Champa Thai has the best Thai food in Ottawa! No joke!
We picked up (not dine in) the food was absolutely freaking amazing. Chicken satay, Panang, were the best.
Very nice cosy corner shop for take out and dine in. The champa chicken is too good. Fried chicken in thai curry is a very nice combination. The staff are very kind and welcoming as well.
The dishes are very well prepared, and the staff are very friendly! Always recommend this restaurant for authentic Thai food!
Amazing!! Some of the best Thai food I have had in a while. The pad Thai was phenomenal. The chicken basil was spicy and delicious. The spring rolls and fresh rolls also amazing. And the beef yellow curry so good!! Portions are very fair. A little pricey but great food!
Honestly love this place. I order at least 2-3 times a month. But lately every time I order the hot/sour coconut shrimp soup, there is ALWAYS pieces of chicken in it and its upsetting because I specifically order the shrimp one because I dont eat chicken. This happened the last 3 times and sadly, I will no longer order this soup because of this. The curries are bomb. Pad thai is average. Sometimes its so good and sometimes its just meh. But for real. Really disappointed about the soup. I just had it 5 minutes ago and chewed on a chicken piece and just turned me right off. Happened last time too and as someone that doesnt eat meat, its just gross.
Delicious authentic Thai cuisine. I regret waiting so long to try it. I ll be back! Shookdee!
Great food.
A true little hidden gem for Thai food. We ve tried all combo sets and nothing has disappointed us. The veggie spring rolls are my favorite - crispy, tasty and not greasy.
I was in Thailand and can evaluate the quality of Thai food. It was amazing! The lady, which works there, is a hard worker!!! Thank you!
Decently priced delicious food!
Of the three Thai restaurants I have now tried in Byward Market area, this one definitely takes the win. The serving sizes were good. Green curry and salad servings seemed larger than other restaurants. The taste was great! Real coconut curry flavor from the green curry. Stir fry dishes were spicy but so good I found myself eating more facing all the sweats! Mango salad was super tasty! I can only imagine how good it would have been if mangos were in season. Overall, it definitely was a fulfilling meal and I felt the warmth of the spice in my belly. Highly recommended if youre in the area!
Best takeout Thai I ve ever had, and I m quite a picky eater! Their yellow chicken curry and fried shrimp spring rolls are divine. Great customer service and very sweet staff too. We are ao lucky to have Champa Thai in the byward market!
the best tom kha in Ottawa. tom yum is good too. i tried three of their curries and they are all delish! the food here is better than other Thai restaurants. good price as well. must visit if you are in Ottawa (takeout only i think).
Food was great and service was great.
Went there for the first time tonight, inspired by the great reviews, and was not disappointed! We had the spring rolls, lad na, and chicken panang curry - all delicious. It was ready for takeout/pickup quickly. Will be back to try the pad thai!
Really good restaurant. Friendly service and excellent soup won ton and fried rice ! Nice discover in Ottawa !
Best Thai place in all of Ottawa hands down.
Oh my goodness! The food is super delicious and authentic. Bravo to the women that make this food.
Excellent food and service! Kev
Excellent quality and taste. The champa Thai chicken being the best
Pad Thai was 7.5/10, Pad See Yu was 8/10, and yellow curry deserved 8/10. Solid 4 stars with very nice staff (owners). I would go back and eat there.
Best Thai food in the city. Authentic, fresh ingredients and now a renovated space to dine in.
The best Thai food! Always look forward to coming here when I visit Ottawa!
We spend 2 evenings in the Holliday next to Chamoa Tha Cuisine. Jesus its so tasty, I asked if it could be a little milder. And perfect its delicious. 5 stars.
Simply excellent. We had a shrimp and coconut soup which was so tasty with a beef pad see ew and a chicken fried rice with pineapple and curry. All were excellent. Reasonable price and generous portion.
One of the best Thai in Ottawa. Run by 2 lovely women. Very authentic dishes Currently take out only. But we were able to have a table to eat in. Vegan options available. Good portions and price.
SO GOOD. Amazing authentic thai food with good prices. The staff was very friendly and the portions are big. We tried two combos and one noodle dish and they exceeded our expectations. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes flavourful authentic food. Will definitely come back, this place is in my top 3 of places to eat in Ottawa.
This place is amazing. Best Thai food you can get. They even went out of their way for me today. Got to love great food and great service. Wish I could give 10 Stars
Good food at affordable prices.
The food was amazing, I got the combo #2 and it was enough to fill me up quite nicely. Honestly a hidden gem in ottawa
Great food. Good amount of spice for food and the portion is just right.
My favorite Thai spot in Ottawa. I ve only gotten Delivery, but am looking forward to visiting in person.
The chicken red curry is not to be believe. Charming, fast, and DELISH!
Wow this place is good. It was recommended to us and boy does it not disappoint. The best Thai food weve had in a long time. If you order takeout or delivery, its well packaged and comes boiling hot as if they just took it off the stove - something a lot of other delivery/takeout places lack (many times with other places my food shows up luke warm and I have to warm it up again). Its so good that we ordered it two days in a row! Highly recommend.
Amazing Thai food. Great value for your money. The food is pretty spicy by default, so if thats not your thing, make sure to ask that they tone it down a bit for you!
Their food is simply delicious!
Best Thai place in Ottawa! Generous portions, and they included plenty of chicken in my yellow curry. The Tom Kha Gai soup is wonderful, and a lot of Thai places in Ottawa dont have it on the menu. Despite being a rather plain looking takeout place, the food is vibrant and delicious! A curry meal and side of rice will fill me up for 2 full meals! Better food and prices compared with the more upscale Thai restaurants in the area!
The boyfriend is addicted to their panang curry. Top 3 panang curries for us, best we tried in Ottawa.
First experience with this restaurant and I am blown away. The food was fantastic. Very flavourful and authentic tasting. The staff are super hardworking and pleasant to deal with. Would highly recommend Champa Thai! Will be my go-to Thai place in Ottawa. Thanks so much.
Absolutely fantastic . We have had Thai food all over the world. The owner took our order and cooked it herself. All ready in 15 mins. Covid world so we had take out. Best meal we had in Ottawa.
The food here is always delicious and piping hot. The panang is my favourite and the pad Thai is wonderful. Ive never had a bad meal. The staff is super friendly and they prepare the food so quickly. I highly recommend! Its my favourite Thai in the city.
The best Thai food Ive ever had in my life. I was a regular when I lived in Ottawa.
Friendly staff and awesome food! If youre in DT Ottawa, go!
This place is amazingly good. The only problem is that rice isnt just included in the curries. The amount of times I dont order an extra side of rice and come home... And then have to make it myself!
Very tasty! Quick service. Friendly staff.
Best takeout thai in the city
Champa Thai is one of my favourite take out restaurants. Try Champa Thai if you havent yet.
More expensive than expected, but food was pretty good.
One of the best takeout meals I have ever had! Their service is fast, their servers are friendly, and the quality of their food is amazing. Pro-tip: bring your own containers!
Just stopped by and ordered pad Thai and a soup to go... quick friendly service and the food is amazing!!! Glad I listened to other google reviews
If you actually know the story of the owner or tasted authentic Thai food before (not the North American version of it) - you understand the value youre getting here. Incredible flavours, great pricing and more. It really is a hidden gem in the city.
Good place for to get your takeout Thai fix. The green curry is especially good!
Best Thai food Ive ever had! Staff were friendly and very accommodating.
Really great take out spot however I wouldn t plan to dine in since the place a little run down. Awesome flavours and really great owner! Will definitely order again :)
Love the owner Su! Great food everytime!
Its the best thai food place in Ottawa.
Amazing food! Did take out yesterday and it was the best ever. Every dish has its own unique flavor and they have generous portions.
45$ for two bland pad thai.
Ive lived in Ottawa for 31 years.... And have been looking for an authentic thai restaurant my entire adulthood... 20 years ago I may have said this was it.... but I can not say it is now. I knew Champa Thai existed (but never tried it until now, because I live in Orleans; a ride away from downtown Ottawa). It is amazing food... the best thai food around: UNTIL...recently. I can NOT give it 5 stars because Chili Thai opened up in Orleans and it is THE BEST thai food I have ever had the pleasure of eating in my LIFE. Chili Thai for the win in Ottawa, if not ONTARIO! Super fresh food ALWAYS! They never skimp on freshness OR taste! So good
Lack of spices for this type of menu
Legit family shop, hard working staff. Authentic food. The green curry in particular is simply delicious, sweet with a nice bit of heat. Our favourite curry in the city!
Ordered a combo thinking it would be enough for two as the menu was not clear how big the combo was. The combo came with substantial amount of food, but not for two. As for the food, it is very tasty, but it is a bit greasy for my taste.
Had the Combo number 5. This isnt a high class fancy place. This place offers value Thai food and its consistent. The fried rice was a little too greasy for my liking. The springrolls were very well cooked but the filling was mediocre. The dipping sauce was sweet and didnt pair well with the sweetness of the cabbage, in my opinion. The Champa Thai curry was incredible! Very unique! The side soup was too salty for my taste, but would pair well with the meal. Packaging was well done, no spills and it was simple. Best part was that food was still piping hot even after 30 minutes. Burnt my tongue on how quick I ate it. Delicious, will be returning! Thanks for staying open!
Food is ok. The papaya salad was warm when it arrived and I didn t really enjoy that. Portions could have been a little bit bigger considering the price of the dishes. But delivery was rather quick.
We booked our meal by phone for 45 minute later delivery. It was on time, hot & excellent. No leakages or spills. We had 6-7 mains & 2 appetizer dishes. Everything was delicious. There was nothing particularly spicy hot but all well balanced & tasty. Would order again for sure. One of the best Thai takeaways weve had in some time. Thanks!
Ordered online. Was very quick and delicious!
Food is Amazing. Its always those small shops that dont stand out that have the best testing food.
Ordered the Champa Thai Chicken with Steamed Rice. Delicious. Highly recommended if youre in the mood for Thai.
This was our first order from Champa. Will definitely order again. The food was excellent, fresh and tasty. The meat/chicken/shrimp was well-cooked and tender. Quick delivery service. The food was HOT upon arrival.
Red curry and Tom Kah Soup was delicious. Will go again
I cant believe I went so long without such exceptional Thai food! I called and placed an order for delivery with the restaurant (not an app) and less than 45 minutes later we had the most delicious meal. Warning, the papaya salad is spicy! Our red and green curries had so much depth in flavour, its unlike any Thai Ive had before. We asked that everything was gluten-free and they assured it would be, even confirmed it at the end of the order. This is our new home for Thai!
Favourite Thai Place! The people that run the restaurant are super friendly too :)
Service.... They informed us more than 2 hours later after placing our order and paying that they did not deliver to our area, less than 15 minutes away...
So delicious. The $20 combos are especially amazing (huge serving that includes curry, spring rolls, soup, rice and a salad/stir fry).
Love this place the satay chicken, mango salad , red and green curry chicken are my favorites. This place is really a treat for nice and delicious Thai food !
For years Ive driven past Champa Thai and finally tonight I decided to give it a try. Wow have I ever been missing out all these years. By far the best Thai food Ive had in Ottawa! The tom kha soup was the best Ive ever had! Everything was super fresh, hot, and flavourful. We split combo 1 and combo 3. Service was speedy (ready in 15 min for pickup) and friendly. Delicious food, Su is very kind, he prepares your food with great taste, he does everything at the moment. I recommend it to
The pad keep mao was so delicious! Really good flavor and spice. The pad Thai was also really really good - just the right sweetness, and tangy. Classic. This is a comfort food spot for sure. Ill be coming back.
One of the best meals I ve had this year! We split combo 4 between 2 people and it was amazing. Got extra rice because the sauces are so delicious and we wanted to enjoy every drop. Definitely eating here more often. The ladies who work there are super friendly, and the prices are the best in town.
Pad Thai is amazing! Order online for quicker service.
The best Thai restaurant in Ottawa! I dont even like going to other Thai restaurants anymore. Ive ordered from Champa for years and will always pick them over others.
