I love the general Thai with pineapple mild with thin noodles. It's sooo good when I'm uptown. Even the other places across the city are also good as well.
I ordered a chocolate banana cake and got something without banana or chocolate in it. I’d previously ordered the cake at other locations and been satisfied. At this location, however, the cake barely looked like a cake and smelled horrible. I just threw it away. They may have made a mistake and given me the pineapple one, but I’ve gotten that once before and don’t remember it having that smell. On a better note, I’d also ordered other stuff and they were okay. The chicken Thai fried rice was good.
If you're hungry and in a rush, this is a decent option. There are vegetarian options for both soup and fried noodles. The flavour is a bit bland but it was filling for lunch. The service was quick and the staff were nice.
The location isn’t correct on maps. This store is on the second level in the food court at the Rideau Centre next to Amaya Express. I was at a conference at the Shaw Centre next door and came over here for lunch and have always enjoyed getting a box of Pad Thai with chicken - and this location did it well. Friendly staff and prompt service. Definitely recommend.
Food court food is usually generous with portions but not these guys no matter where you go. Ottawa or Toronto all the same. Over priced. Asked for Thai Basil with chicken with veggies. Said it has veggies.. ok where? It was all rice a few pieces of what looked like chicken. It did have basil. Sugar in the rice? Too sweet for my liking. Been there twice..No more.
Very Friendly staff, especially the gentleman who works as cashier! The food is super delicious . My mom likes it a lot ! Thanks the gentlemen for teaching me how to order the food. Highly recommended here if you want to know how friendly Chinese are . Thank you for giving us a wonderful experience!!!
I've noticed Thai Express going downhill at almost all location, for several years. I decided to give it another go beacuse the staff seemed efficient. But despite this the food was especially bad this time. Ordered the Pad See Yue, which is supposed to have chinese brocolli. Despite the moutain of noodles, there wasn't a spec of any vegetable. One green flec that might of what might have been stem. The noodles were also not tradiation pad see yue noodles, and it was not saucy at all. Previously I had the green curry, or more accuratly I had a bowl of wet onions on rice. It's sad because this used to be a really great chain.
From the best Thai Express in Ottawa. I highly recommend their food.

Mediocre flavorless spring rolls stuffed with iceberg lettuce.
I ordered takeout from this place and never got my order delivered. When I called the restaurant, they said they couldn t find my order. They preferred to blame the delivery guy than take responsibility for my missing order. I was unimpressed with the service.
Inconsistent. I usually order the chicken pad thai. Sometimes its be bone dry and other times the noodles are soaking in the sauce.
I ordered 2 Pad Thai. When I opened up my food it looked lole it was cooked with leftovers. It made my kid rock after eating it. I do not recommend going here. I wasted 32$ for nothing. Never coming here again.

Mango salad had no onions, peppers, cilantro, or peanuts, but it had lettuce and just mango. Not worth the money, and not good.
I entered the mall and arrived at the fast food court, there was a great smell of rice in the air who felt like eating, I bought from Thai Express a stir-fried rice dish with pineapple and chicken, and a stir-fried chicken dish with egg. **It should be noted that there were a few pieces of chicken in the dishes (quite a bit!!) But the dishes were hot and tasty. The meal was reasonable.
Got food and it taste like oil and oil. It was better if I drink a cup of oil rather than paying $15 for food.
Really yummy chicken pad thai! This one came with tofu and salted radish which I really liked.

Ordered a tofu pad Thai to go. When I got home there was no tofu in my pad Thai, only vegetables.
Seasoning was ok but ratio of meat, vegetables to noodles was way off (favoring the noodles over the nutrient rich ingredients)
No consistency, you can order the same dish 50 times but you will get a range of very differently tasting dishes, with different contents, only noodles or rice will be true to order lol. It almost seems like the person making it will make it as they would like it themselves. Today I got red curry and it wasnt even red it was that diluted!!!! No flavour whatsoever. Giving two stars for the 20% of the time the curry tasted nice. My husband ate it so sorry no photo but Im sure if u come back next time it will be the same

I know it was not an accident I said French Fried Rice with Basil and Shrimp I went today I was so excited I havent had this in a while. I am so disappointed I wasted money and time never again now they are just not doing their jobs right giving people the wrong orders. I mean if you cant hear me say you cant and I will remove my mask for a bit so you can get my order right. Im not going there again its not worth the money for this location. I have never had a wrong order and the people are always so kind and gentle but this is ridiculous and not good customer service and two wrong orders. I hope it gets better or else I ll just order something else at the food court. But anyway instead of Shrimp I got Fish something I never order in just disappointed and upset now. My order wasnt even spicy and I said extra spicy never again.
Pad thai is good
Thai Express is located in the food corner of the Rideau Center. The menu can be combined in different ways. We had the Pad Thai and Green Curry. There were too many bean sprouts in the Pad Thai and it also tasted too sweet. There was practically no meat in the curry or pad thai.
Got pad see ew, coconut peanut bowl and fresh spring roll. Really good food

Thai Express, is my favorite fast food restaurant. If Im in any mall or food court, and I see Thai Express, it is my number one choice for lunch. Healthy lunch, in my belief, cook live in front of you with amazing taste and spiciness that will guarantee fill your hunger. There is a wide variety of menu options but for me, Im still stuck on option number 7, the Chicken Phad Thai, its just amazingly delicious.
I have been going there for a while now and had no issues until a couple months ago. My partner and I do not eat animal products, and some of the staff are amazing at accommodating, but the last few times we have gotten sauce made of fish or leftover chicken in our dishes. Those are accidents that are just something we have accepted will happen no matter where you go. This last time though was the final straw. My partner and I both received our dishes and they each had a full serving of chicken in them. It is sad to say but if you have dietary restrictions at all this is not the place to eat.
The box seems small but the amount is actually enough.
I love Thai food, but the first time I came here I thought that this place sold clothing from Thailand. I was a little disapointed, but I was hungry so it all worked out in the end.

I used to go there very often and about one year ago things started to change. Portions are getting smaller and the food was inconsistent sometimes undercooked. Yesterday I went in for #8 and then I didn t sleep the entire night because I was vomiting the whole night. Please avoid this location if you can.

Previous bad reviews were completely right: I ordered here via Skip the Dishes. What a mistake! The food was horrible - tasteless; overcooked... and the container for the soup broke. Skip gave me a partial refund, but frankly it should have been a full refund. I also waited 1 1/2 hours for this food to be delivered and it was the absolute worst Thai Express food ever. I normally dont post food reviews, but I want to warn others from wasting money and possibly getting sick from this food. Please dont eat there...

Inconsistent experience! I came back for soup with coconut milk but this time they sprinkled some drops on the soup so it had a negligible effect. To be consistent, they should measure a consistent size portion of coconut milk.

Utterly inedible. The fried beef was 95% flour. Rice was old.
I usually eat at Thai Express at Promenades Gatineau, it has nothing to do with the one in the center of the curtain, my soup was missing a piece of fish, my bowl is 1/3 full of broth, the ravioli sauce doesnt smell good.
DOOOO NOT GO THERE!!! I was waiting for 4 minutes before someone take my order and there was no lineup. I asked for a pad thai with shrimps. When I receive my pad thai, I count the number of shrimps as my friend told me to do. They only put 3 shrimp and the food was too gross and oily. 13$ for nothing!!! I gave them that back, the refused to give my money or add more stuff. So they dropped it in the garbage in front of me. People who work there have no respect for food and people!!!!!

Pad thai was below average and the cashiers were not that friendly.
This location never listens when I try to make requests to have my pad Thai with less sauce or less noodles. I have tried multiple times and they load it up with sauce and noodles every time and it is disappointing when I wanted otherwise. Other Thai Express locations in Ottawa do listen, just not this one.
I have NO idea how can They serve the food which they do, when we ordered items they were completely Dry (Curry was added just to show). Could not eat the food, Had to through it out....
Worst Thai Express Ive ever gone to, the food was undercooked and tasteless. Ill grab a burger next time Im at Rideau.
used to be very good but the new cashier and cook just cant carry on the same quality they had before. the cashier herself doesnt understand the menu, even when I point out on the menu board that one combo is available she is still insisting they dont do that?! Also, she took my order wrong, which is just like a cherry on top of her unpleasant services.
