I absolutely love this place—it’s a must-visit if you’re in Ottawa! I discovered it while backpacking through Canada and searching for vegetarian options. The interior is peaceful and beautifully designed, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food is absolutely delicious. It’s one of the places I miss the most when thinking about Canada 🫶🏻
An oasis of auspicious and extremely delicious food! Amazing peaceful atmosphere! Great desserts too! This was the highlight of our short visit to Ottawa, we want to come again. Highly recommended♥️All vegetarian or vegan.
Everything I'm about to say is a repetition of what previous reviewers have described: astonishingly delicious, carefully prepared food with the utmost attention to flavour and presentation; extraordinarily soothing ambiance; speedy and gracious service; reasonable prices. Definitely my favourite restaurant, possibly and probably of any I've ever been to. Heartfelt thanks for all your hard work, Peace Garden staff!
The (vegan) food was excellent as usually and you can tell it is always made with TLC. I say this all the time about places with delicious food but this place could easily go cruelty-free (no animal products) and still have an amazing menu.
Having had a delicious plant based meal, this is the place to go for 100% vegan and homemade food. Ideas for your visit - check out the specials on the wall - check the ingredients because they have them (if you have allergies) - have great conversation with those around you Note: the bathroom is down the hall. Cutlery is real and it cuts well. I would recommend it.
Here it is - your moment of zen. I used to go to the Painted Potato often back on Laurier Street and after it closed, I was happy to know the Peace Garden was still around. Their new location is really nice too, highly recommend checking it out. The food is fantastic - I personally enjoy the thali which comes with the curry of the day, dahl, samosas, papadum, and a garden salad.
Peace-Garden Vegetarian made my time in Ottawa better! I’m so happy I tried this restaurant during my stay in Ottawa in February 2024. I had go two days in a row to try different menus and get their chai tea once more. I also took their dal to-go for my road trip lunch for the following day. This place introduced me to the best chai tea and dal I’ve ever had and unique cooking ideas such as using brown rice noodles and eggplants to make lasagna. Although the building that the restaurant takes part in is under a construction, I had no inconvenience in regard to that. It was also a good study spot - plenty of seats, good atmosphere, and free wifi that works well. I would definitely revisit if I’m in Ottawa again. If you are looking for something wholesome, fresh, and flavorful, you would not be disappointed. Thank you for the good experience I had here!
Wow! What a GEM! This place is my absolute favourite vegan / vegetarian restaurant in ottawa. The venue is a jungle-like setting, flourishing with abundant exotic plants and trees all year round, which creates a deeply recharging and relaxing atmosphere. The food is delicious. There hasn't been one menu item I didn't absolutely love. The glory bowl is one of my personal faves. Their sauces are also delectable :) Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a bit hard to find because it's inside a commercial building. Just behind king eddy's diner. But that's what makes it so special and quiet. The women who work there are always so peaceful and radiant. They tie the whole thing together. Would give it more than 5 stars if I could!
The Dahl soup and potato wraps were excellent. Absolutely delicious. Parking: I take the LRT to Rideau then walk a few blocks. Food : 5/5 |
Delicious home made vegetarian and vegan meals and snacks!
Wheelchair accessibility: Good for wheelchairs. No stairs. Doors lead right onto the sidewalk. Food
Very good food. We had the lasagna and the burger; excellent!! Very nice staff. If we are in Canada again, we will come back!! Vegetarian options: Also vegan
Very delicious and different kind of variety of vegetarian menu, snacks, meals and food with Indian taste of spices.. Peace and calm environment too.. Service was great..!! ..
Great selection, great value, great service.
The quality of the food is outstanding
Fantastic vegetarian/vegan food. Healthy bowl was so filling.
A lovely place for a calm and tasty meal. We walked here from the art gallery for lunch. Good selection, with some really nice GF options. I had the GF eggplant lasagne, which was very good. The mango lassi was nice, could have had a bit more cardamon.
Delicious home cooked foods! If your looking for a place with healthy, fresh and delicious foods this is your place! Dahl soup had so much flavour & the ginger beet juice was great! Service was also fantastic. The ladies that work here are so friendly & accommodating! Only downside is I wish they were opening in the evening! Fabulous place!
Amazing place for vegetarians. This place takes an amazing care of the food being served.
Been in Canada for 2 weeks and this is the best food. Lovingly cooked and presented and very, very nice employees. And the price is also great. Less than 5 minutes walk from the National Gallery of Canada. Its worth it.
Very good, healthy vegetarian options. Loved Samosa and Tofu Bowl. Atmosphere is very welcoming and pleasant. Food : 5/5
Overall, a solid place. The food was great, and they had a lot of options. The atmosphere is very unique. It feels like youre having food at a friends house. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. I would definitely recommend and come back whenever I can!
Visited this place for a Sri Chinmoy Meditation Concert! The atmosphere was so peaceful and welcoming. They gave free snacks and drinks and the music was so soulful. Highly recommend checking this place out ^^
Located in the heart of the city, Peace-Garden vegetarian restaurant is a hidden gem for those seeking delicious and flavorful plant-based meals. Their daily curries are a true standout and a culinary delight for any food enthusiast. I recently had the pleasure of trying their dal and the Thai style green curry, both of which were exceptional. The dal was hearty, nutritious, and packed with savory spices that created a symphony of flavors on my taste buds. The Thai style green curry, with its rich coconut milk base and fragrant herbs, transported me to the bustling streets of Thailand with each spoonful. What sets Peace-Garden apart is not only the quality of their food but also the attention to detail and love put into each dish. The freshness of the ingredients and the expertly crafted recipes truly shine through in every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant is serene and inviting, creating a peaceful dining experience. The staff is friendly, and always ready to recommend dishes and accommodate dietary preferences. Overall, if youre looking for a vegetarian restaurant that offers amazing daily curries, Peace-Garden is the place to be. Whether youre a seasoned vegetarian or a curious omnivore looking to explore plant-based cuisine, this restaurant will surely leave you satisfied and coming back for more.
They are the sweetest and most genuine people. I was there with my friend who is vegetarian. She said their food was amazing. I just got a naan for a snack and it was light and delicious. I left my purse behind and were not from Ottawa. We realized when we got to our car. They had it behind the counter and looked so concerned. Salt of the earth people honestly. Go here
Odd little place but I loved the home cooked feel and the flavors were very good!!
I have been coming here with my partner for over ten years and we will come back time and time again as long as they are open! Lets go Peace Garden!!!
The vegan restaurant offered a delightful culinary experience. The veg chili soup was robust and flavorful, setting the tone for the meal. The thali platter showcased a variety of well-spiced dishes, each complementing the other. The freshness of the salad and the aromatic methi wrap added a perfect balance to the overall dining experience. A satisfying choice for those seeking diverse and delectable vegan options.
We chose this restaurant based off of reviews. Showed up at 5:45pm on a Saturday because it says it closes at 7pm. Walked by the first employee who didn t look up at us once and the other guy at the cash stood there texting or googling on his phone not acknowledging us. We stood there waiting for him, still on his phone until I said hi! And my husband asked if we just sit anywhere. And the guy (still on his phone) said: you have 15 minutes . huh?! Yeah we close in 15 minutes so you have 15 minutes . Honestly, this was by far the weirdest exchange I ve had with a server/cook or owner. Meanwhile the other guy never looked up. I understand how annoying it is to have people show up 15 minutes before a restaurant closes (despite it being posted open till 7) but that could have been dealt with wayyyyy better than that. Like if you don t look at us and acknowledge us what? What do you expect is going to happen? We will never support your restaurant because customer service matters. That was just so bizarre.
What a wonderful place! The meals were so delicious and the flavours out of this world. The location is very convenient with lots of street parking. The space itself is nicely designed and has a calming zen feeling. The staff are super friendly and the service is quick. Thanks so much for a great experience! We ll be back!
Truly extraordinary place!!! Delicious, healthy and beautiful dishes and drinks prepared in an authentic way like chai made with fresh, non-industrial spices. I highly recommend and will definitely return.
Ottawa has very few vegetarian only places and this place beats them all! Amazing food, every bite of their dal touches your soul. My favorite place to go to when in downtown. One piece of date square is 10$. That was my only disappointment.
We found this paradise by accident and will coming back again and again for many years. Tasty treats and very delicious coffee.
A real paradise .. nice little plates, good coffee, peaceful atmosphere
Delicious food, great service! The lasagna is vegan, gf and delicious!!!
Five million birds of peace Five million thoughts of hope Five stars for the food (sweet potato burger had such a good texture) and chai (richly spicy and warm on a cold day) Five stars for the serene atmosphere of what may be Canadas most devoted Sri Chinmoy fan club, who I didnt know existed until today. Five stars for the fun fact that apparently Sri Chinmoy gave John McLaughlin the name Mahavishnu and then that guy went on to make some of the greatest jazz fusion works of all time with Mahavishnu Orchestra. TIL! Vegetarian options: Most mains seem to be fully vegan, cheese is optional on dishes that could include it, no vegan cheese options are available
Excellent little hole in the wall spot... warm, homey, beautiful plants, excellent food !!!! So happy we tried while visiting Ottawa. Vegetarian options: Eggplant lasagna was really good too!
OMG a must visit! Authentic vegetarian food made with so much love and care and I cant say enough good things. The veggie burger and the bowls are divine!! I promise to myself to have at least one meal here every time I am in Ottawa.
I had the sweet potato burger & cream of tomato soup and my partner had the vegetarian lasagna. Our meals were filling and full of flavour. The smoothies were delicious as well.
Good vibes ..great taste ..extremely polite and nice people .
Delicious! Had the sweet potato burger and tomato soup! So good!
Wonderful vegetarian restaurant. Absolutely beautiful venue
Awesome place for vegetarian . Also they have indian masala tea .Best place to have Indian breakfast in Ottawa.
Really lovely hidden gem, always incredible tasting food and friendly service.
Incredible place and food. I want to go back to Ottawa just to eat at this place again.
I have enjoyed multiple vegetarian and vegan meals at the peace-garden. Delicious food with an outstanding atmosphere!
My favorite place thank you
My roommate found this place on accident and recommended it to me after trying a delicious beet curry. I got a delicious salad bowl and can 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for healthy, light, and filling meals!
Amazing place if you are looking for scrumptious vegetarian food
Satvik (simple) Indian food Everything is vegetarian and eggless The food is great and affordable Very polite staff :) Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian and eggless The food is great and affordable Very polite staff
Delicious food, a must for vegan food in ottawa! Prompt and kind service. Nice quiet atmosphere
Delightful vegetarian, hidden gem, freshly prepared. Inside atrium at the Time Square. Daily curry on vegetables and rice
Peace Garden is nestled inside a quiet shopping center (with air conditioning!) surrounded by plants and unique seating arrangements. The food was phenomenal!!! The glory bowl was some of the best vegetarian food we ve ever had. It was mind blowing. Definitely recommend for vegetarians looking for something different.
Wonderful, delicious food! Fresh and great tasting ingredients!
Nice food, price is good. The restaurant is hidden inside the building. The made an effort with plants and decoration to make it more beautiful. Food
Great experience! Lots of vegan options, I love it as a vegan! My boyfriend and I took the Tali and I got to experience the papadam! Everything was super good! My compliments to the chef! Mango nectar too, a real sweet delight! And to finish in style, a chocolate tart, which was gluten-free, but still excellent, even if Im not celiac ;) The service was lovely and the two employees were super friendly! It was a nice, quiet atmosphere and well decorated despite the small space, but I knew that in 6 weeks they will have a larger space right next door with a view of the street! That s good news! Until next time, for sure! Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian or even vegan!
I like this spot. They have achieved a beautiful grove atmosphere within an otherwise dull office building. They have nice combo deals like soup and pie or daal and potato methi + their chutney is to diiiieeee for. Their soups are delicious as well, nicely packaged too in a coffee cup. Speaking of coffee, that is nice too. Service is always very pleasant, and friendly, and I like that they are operating for a religious mission, rather than simply for profit. I only wish that they would use higher quality oils, like coconut or olive or ghee/butter.
I will definitely eat here again on my next visit to Ottawa. Thank you. Everything was delicious even my kids aged 5&8 very much enjoyed their meal!
Great restaurant, vegan friendly. Excellent choices Vegetarian options: Excellent choices Food : 5/5 |
It really is peaceful to be here. The service is calm and friendly. The food is delicious. We liked the vegan Curry and the chocolate Banana Cake!
Amazing food, friendly staff!
I got the honey and ginger lemonade and it was fantastic. My stomach wasn t feeling good and this is exactly what I was looking for. Perfect amount of fresh ginger and honey. Staff were kind and friendly :) Building is under renovation but it s nice and air conditioned in there.
We ordered vegan samosa platter, it was average taste, good place for vegans.!!
Vegetarian options: Enjoyed the place a lot. Great food, great staff. Food
Don t miss this hidden peaceful garden, believe me, it s not just a name, it s peace and health. The food is good, close to Indian texture. I tried Curry of the day this time. Food
What a wonderful place with excellent food and the most accommodating team!! Loved everything so much! Highly recommend it
The garden itself was under construction when I was there (12. October 2023) but they still had their restaurant open. Loved the dressing of the salad
One of favorite places in Ottawa .. food is Yummmmmmmmmmmmy ,staff are friendlllllllllllllly. If you think vegetables are just the sidekicks to the meaty superheroes, think again! I stumbled upon Veggie Delight, a vegetarian restaurant thats so good it might just convince your steak-loving uncle to ditch the beef. Walking in, I was half-expecting a herd of lettuce grazing peacefully, but what I got was a veggie wonderland. The menu read like a love letter to plants a symphony of colors and flavors that would make a unicorn jealous. So, whether youre a seasoned vegetarian or a meat-eater curious about the green side, Veggie Delight is where youll find veggies so good theyll make you question your carnivorous life choices. Just be warned: you might leave humming by the time youre done.
Love this place! My favourite restaurant in Ottawa! Unique, calm and grounded space to nourish and regenerate. Thank you thank you!
New premises. Everything was excellent and delicious.
Nice food.
I absolutely loved my meal and experience. Kind service, exceptional energy, and super tasty vegan food!
This was my 2nd luncheon at the Peace Garden & both times were absolutely delicious. Their food is so fresh & made with great care. Cant wait to return.
It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive at almost 2pm.. We didnt get the water we asked for until after we got our food. I ordered Sag paneer...got a squash curry with stoggy brown rice & too much dal...Thee other plates were as bad. Worth knowing if you have kids with you, the only toilet is outside & in another restaurant.
The most amazing food that I ever had. The texture and look fantastic. Fabulous ambiance.
Fantastic whole foods prepared with care. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed engaging in nice conversation. Thank you, Om Namah Sivaya
Reale very great, vegan and also very friendly
The vibe of this place is very peaceful and outdoorsy even though its indoor! Really loved the setting, the delicious and nutritious food, and the owner gave us such a good service! I recommend the mango nectar smoothie
Delicious food!
I am in love with this place. Great food, amazing ambiance and excellent service. If you are a vegan/vegetarian and in Ottawa.. you have to be here. I enjoyed the potato burger with salad which was delicious.. I just loved the service.. they are extremely nice and humble. Next time when I am in Ottawa I am definitely stopping by.
Amazing food, zen ambiance and smiling hospitality :-) This is one of the most amazing places to try out. Not sure if this is a hidden gem! Will definitely be returning back!
Awesome food, great ambience and best sweet potato curry we ever had.
Beautiful ambiance and personable service gracefully blended the ethic Indian cuisine with western touch Simply loved it
Friendly staff, delicious food and love the plants. Hard to believe more people havent discovered this gem Im not vegetarian but I loved the food.
Let me start by saying that I am not vegetarian, and yet I have to admit that the food was absolutely delicious! The glory bowl was outstanding and the berry smoothie great. Nice ambience and great service.
Fantastic food and chocolate cake to die for
This an amazing hidden Jem highly recommend for all not just vegetarians or vegans.
I have been dining here for nine years and have always had a very pleasant and satisfying experience. The food is creative and is always made with love. The cooks put a lot of effort into making creative vegetarian and vegan dishes to cater to the evolving palates of the health conscious. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys vegetarian wholesome food and a caring staff that loves to serve their patrons.
The address is Clarence Street, but its actually *inside* that building, with a second entrance off Murray Street. A small sandwich-board sign may be outside. The eatery sits in the atrium/lobby of the office building, complete with greenery and light streaming in from above. The menu has many vegan or veganizable items, including a soup of the day. Some gluten-free items. Samosas, bowl meals, salads, etc. I enjoyed the Glory Bowl. Dessert squares and other treats. Chilled and frozen items to take away. It was very busy at 1 pm on a summer Thursday, and it s best to not be in a hurry. It s a small kitchen and just two staff. Its run by the Sri Chinmoy organization, and there is literature available about meditation. Also for sale are woven baskets, cards, etc.
Were from Spain and Italy. Were visiting Ottawa for a couple of days and we decided on this restaurant. The most amazing food we have ever had. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly and attentive to us. We would definitely repeat!
Great experience. Fun, quite location. Great food, kind service, and very reasonable specials and items. Very community friendly, and offers great support to many good causes. Visit the location, take in the smell of good food, and the many green plants.
This restaurant is really amazing, the meals are very affordable, made fresh and taste so good. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for tasty and affordable vegetarian food. The ambience is also really nice and relaxing.
The atmosphere, the food, the people... whats not to love?
The Peace Garden has the best vegetarian food in Ottawa ! The soups are prepared with love and the bread is fresh and hardy. The atmosphere is sweet and relaxing. There is a small library of books to inspire you while you relax with a warm drink or a hot meal. This restaurant is full of light and peace .
Fantastic food, ambience and services. Everything tasted marvellous and the staff was very kind. I highly recommend it. :)
My daughter and I love this restaurant. Delicious food and kind people serving.
I have seen this place before, never had a chance to try, but 2 weeks ago I have decided to go and try their small menu, what a nice experience! i had their Samosa, very nice taste and crispy and fresh, the guy offered me some tomato chutney, was very nice only suggestion please add some shredded Ginger to it it would be even ....The service was good and the most amazing thing is that I love nature and spirituality and they had some tropical looking plants all around, wow... very peaceful and enjoyable! Definitely would come back for their vegan lunch meal sometime next month! Keep it up. Namaste...
Well-filled plates, lots of taste and a very nice atmosphere!
Great place! Very beautiful, and the food is simply amazing!
As someone who never eats vegetarian food, I was thoroughly impressed with the ingredients and flavours used. I had the morning glory and the wife got the curry of the day. Both were filling and delectible.
Today we found this Gem at the heart of Ottawa. Very delicious food served in a peaceful ambiance. Tried the egg plant lasagna, samosa platter . Both were amazing and gut-happy . Try to visit this restaurant if you are in downtown
Vegetarian options: This is a hidden little gem! I will come back!
Visited this place with my parents who was visiting us from India. We enjoyed it every bit and the food was satvic. Thank you so much!
Dining under a canopy of greenery; The Peace Garden offers the most delicious vegetarian, vegan gluten-free options in ottawa. I guarantee you will utter the name of a certain deity while you enjoy the oh so delicious Glory Bowl. This was only my first visit and I enjoyed it with the best slice of vegan gluten-free chocolate cake Ive ever eaten. Will definitely return again and recommend this restaurant to you as well. OMG enjoy.
Definitely hit this little kiosk for a delicious meal filled with amazing ingredients. The folks who cook and serve you are delightful.
Great food for vegans and vegetarians. 10/10.
Delicious fresh food, lots of healthy choices, friendly staff. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. I like the options to have a nice light meal.
Delicious plant-based Indian food! Inconspicuous and unassuming, it truly feels like a peace garden in the heart of Ottawa. Hearty and tasty food, huge portions for decent prices, labelled vegan options. Loved it!
Such a special place! Great food to accommodate any dietary needs. I especially recommend the soups, the chocolate mousse cake and the hot carob honey drink or the cold ginger blast drink. They have fresh juices and smoothies made on the spot, daily specials and lots of vegan and gluten-free treats. The staff and owner are so amazing! They have an extensive collection of spiritual literature that you can look at while you eat so you can feed the body and the soul. I always feel good after a visit to the Peace Garden.
Very good, fresh vegetarian food, a rarity on the American continent.
always incredibly delicious. primo vegetarian food that will leave you feeling amazing afterwards. love the bear curry and sag paneer with lentils. super sweet service staff too, so friendly!
Awesome food! Great little lunch date spot!
Food is delicious! First time having a sweet potato burger, loved it. The owner is the sweetest lady and the atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. Definitely recommend!
Delicious food and very friendly staff. My wife and I truly enjoyed our visit here! Thank you!
Not only is the food amazing, but the staff are so sweet and caring. Very cool place to eat as well with being surrounded by their plants
Nice and cozy place!
A hidden gem found in the time square building with amazing food. The restaurant is so inviting with all their beautiful plants surrounding you (it doesn t even feel like you re in Ottawa, let alone an atrium in a mall!) The menu is geared towards being vegetarian and vegan friendly but don t let that scare you away!! The food has got to be one of the best foods I ve had in a while. Everything was tasty, delicious, and hearty. The staff were very warm and welcoming too which makes so much more memorable. Looking forward to coming back here soon!
the best tofu i have ever had
Good vegan and vegetarian food; typically Indian inspired curries (not spicy) among other things Edit - some items I ordered had too much salt.. Please watch the salt
We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The owners were so friendly and the food was delicious and healthy.
This place is tucked away in the Byward Market and once you happen upon it, its like a tranquil paradise in the middle of a busting downtown core. The food is vegetarian, fresh, delicious, and has good variety. The owner is really nice. They also have art, inspirational cards you can take for free, and lots of plants around the seating area which makes it feel like youre in the middle of a jungle or forest. Its a very relaxing experience and the food lives up to expectation every time. Highly recommend coming here for lunch next time youre in the market.
The ambience and the food, touches your soul! the best vegetarian food you can have in a peaceful setting. Thali platter and mango lassi must try!
Absolutely delicious food and service....Must stop for vegetarians and vegans. We will for sure visit this place if we come back to Ottawa.
They serve Sattvic food. Food is very nice and tasty.
Excellent vegetarian restaurant hidden away in Byward market. Im not a vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination but we really enjoyed it.
Very beautiful place, the staff is extremely nice. The food was amazing. Really fresh, the curry was at least as good as in India. The deserts were good, banana bread being my personal favourite. I would 10/10 recommend going there and dine-in because it is super quiet as you sit on the patio, which is inside, with lots of plants around. Truly a hidden gem
This is my favourite restaurant and has been for over a decade. The food is delightful, the atmosphere inviting. Dont miss out on the dal, salads and lemon ginger tea.
I just had the samosa platter. It was really good, lots of food. I ll be honest, I was expecting more than one samosa in the samosa platter but I m still full after this healthy meal. Very tasty and leaves you feeling good.
Very reasonable prices. Tasty vegetarian. Relaxing spot.
Amazing people who run the store were so nice - first time here on a stop in Ottawa on the way to Mont Tremblant. The meals were very filling and delicious. I had the Bowl Supreme and it was very tasty and had me full and satisfied. The curry was good as well, and they had an abundance of treats and soups. Would definitely recommend for veggie foods.
It is a great restaurant! They make fresh food, my salad was delicious. We will definitely come there again.
Great place, the people with message in life
Cute little restaurant with vegetarian and vegan food. Relaxed atmosphere, lots of plants
Great food, friendly atmosphere
Amazing place. Worth a visit for sure.
What a great place delicious food peaceful atmosphere. I frequent this little paradise often and absolutely love the food and charming atmosphere
Delicious fresh food, lovely restful surroundings, and outstanding service! I can t say enough about this hidden gem in Byward Market. In my estimation, the Peace Garden is easily the best vegetarian restaurant in Ottawa.
My husband and I are so happy we found this vegan restaurant during our stay in Ottawa. I m sad we can t take the place with us. It seems that people running this place learn a Vedantic philosophy or something like that, so you can feel the positive energy that comes with food. This is not a regular restaurant, this is somewhat special and unique. Thank you!
Absolutely blown away by the sheer beauty of this delightful restaurant and the pleasant customer service by Deva Krupa and Pushparani! Thank you for reminding me of the elegance of my Indian roots! To the person thats reading this, if you are or ever are in Ottawa, please do visit @peacegardenottawa located in the Byward Market area, which is a wholesome vegetarian treat for your body and soul! @ Peace-Garden
An awesome place to have a Vegatarian meal....the staff is so zen...the place has a very peaceful and calming aura.
Cool place, hidden away with good vegetarian food.
Our favourite hidden gem in the Byward market. The daal and papadum are always delicious, and the sauce on the Glory bowl is so so so yummy. Maybe the only place in town where you can enjoy an indoor patio all year long, a definite perk! Every person who works here is beyond lovely and we always look forward to our next visit. We love Peace Garden :)
Vegetarian food. Mostly Indian-themed. Charming little spot. A safe place to eat during the pandemic as all of the restaurant sits inside a giant, quiet Atrium.
Cozy atmosphere. Delicious food. Great service. Highly recommend this wonderful little place!
Loved this lovely little restaurant. Delicious food and the kind service makes it memorable
Very Peaceful and Quiet place.
Delicious and interesting food, in a very peaceful environment. Located in the atrium of a mall, so not easy to spot from the street.
Good vegetarian fares. Reasonable prices.
One of the best bakery in ottawa
Amazing and peaceful place! Food is incredible and vegan friendly. Staff is super sweet! Highly recommended
Delightful, tranquil oasis with wonderful service and truly delicious food.
Very good curry and Dahl. Just what I needed after a long trip. The police is in mall like area so it can be a little hard to find from the street but it is certainly worth it!
A hidden gem. Eat great tasting dishes in tranquility.
Food and service was aaaaaaaamazing!! Cafe was so intimate and welcoming, will be a returning guest every chance I get for for sure!! Like where have I been all this time and how come I missed this little gem!!!
Not enough steak
Tasty. Simple. Very good. Cute place.
Lots of tasty choices! A delight! Very fresh food and nice service! The quality is there and very affordable too. We will definitely come back
Delicious homey food (Indian cuisine) I think. The service was a bit slow, but the flavors were tasty. Was worth the wait. Cute little restaurant inside a building. Mostly all vegan food. Will go back. (But dear owner; your prices are a bit steep. I dont mind spending top dollar on quality. But its a bit much, yall should review your prices and make it a bit more affordable. I would return way more if I could afford eating there every lunch.)
Great vegetarian and vegan food. Lovely place to eat. Coffees good, too. ... I am a frequent customer but was informed there are no washrooms available. Are restaurants allowed to not have washrooms for customers?
What a jewel! Extremely delicious food, wonderful variety, service full of sweetness. Beautiful atmosphere brimming with peace! Totally worth five+ hour drive from New York. Ottawa, so fortunate
Cute and eclectic, great service
We had a veggie bowl today It was tasty but way too pricy - wish it was less expensive so that we could go in everyday
Its in a mall ,not much to look at
Best vegan mousse, super inexpensive (paid 30) for 3 dishes plus dessert and the owner is very very kind.
Like a hidden gem! Well worth seeking out. Food was so delicious!
A favourite lunch spot!! The folks who run it are so lovely. The food is healthy and home made. Mango lassi, date squares, and rainbow salad are some favourites.
Truely great food!
They had a really nice sweet potato burger and dal soup! I also liked the calm atmosphere and nice staff!
I dont typically eat vegetarian or vegan but found this place through searches. The raving reviews turned out to be true! This place is actually pretty phenomenal. I had the sweet potato burger and it was delicious. Id recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a healthier alternative to eating out or follows this sort of diet. I can see myself coming back, especially since the staff were so friendly and helpful
Great food and chill calm vibes. Order the lasagna squash definitely
Love the Dahl soup!
Delicious Dal soup and sweet potato burger!
Delicious healthy food. Lots of variety of vegetarian/vegan/gluten free food. 100% recommended.
Very peaceful place inside the Time Square plaza with some amazing vegetarian and vegan food. It is run by ladies who seem to be the devotees of the Chinmaya mission. Food: We went for the Daal (lentil soup), Mexican Lasagna and a Sweet Potato Burger. Daal was actually a side to the burger. Having said that, it was absolutely delicious - very homely and loved every bit of it. The Sweet Potato Burger was great as well - the patty was amazing, the tomato slide was great (although, could have been a little thinner) and the sprouts made the overall burger extremely healthy. Mexican Lasagna was good - great taste and the veggies+sprouts went well with it. Before leaving, we went for Honey Carob drink and a Cafe Au Lait. While the Honey Carob was quite good, Cafe Au Lait was terrible - largely because it was too watery and pretty much bland. So, for coffee, this is not the place. Ambiance: Very much living up to its name, the place is very peaceful. There were many paintings, antiques and books available inside. It doesnt have a large seating space but a very neat and clean set up. Staff: The ladies operating the place were really nice and friendly. While the steaming hot soups were ready already with self-serve, the rest of the meal didnt take much time to come. Overall, a great place to be - nothing high profile but a very humble setting and a great healthy food. Being in the Byward market area, it is also very close to all the major attractions - Parliament, National Gallery, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica etc. Definitely to be visited.
Quiet little place in the heart of Ottawa. Beautifully decorated with plants, spiritual books and antiques. Healthy and hearty vegetarian food. A must try !!
The reviews were right. The food is great, atmosphere very calming and service was fast and so polite. I ordered the sweet potato burger and a samosa. It was quite delicious
One of our favourites.
Nice option to have but there were too many flies and food was served half freeze cold and half warm. Pricy.
Great bowls. The taste is good. Friendly staff
An oasis in the middle of bad karma Byward market. Good coffee, best date squares in the city, a filling potato/cauliflower curried wrap, soups and vegan gluten free desserts. Even the staff emanate a sense of tranquility and belonging. Worth looking for.
Excellent food
Lovely little hidden away spot. In a street full of faux-microbreweries and pub food, this was exactly what we were looking for. I d post a photo of the food, but there is not a bite left. Great selection of veggie dinner and desert. Yum!
Affordable, delicious vegan food!
Veggie Burger was good. Shop can use better direction signage in the neighbourhood
This is a quiet humble place to eat a nice meal. I found it to be relaxing. The people here are calm. I recommend it to someone who wants a little pause.
Carb focused comfort foods
Very tasty burger and soup. A real home-made vibe but with lots of flavour!
Great soups. Great salads. Great cookies. Serene and quiet. Staff is very friendly and calm, you dont feel rushed, like in other places.
Great veg food.. we ordered samosa platter.. it was so good that i still get craving for it.
The food here is so good! Its vegetarian and has a lot of gluten free products. Great soups, daily specials, baked goods. Really fresh food. You can eat in or take it to go.
