Have enjoyed the good food for 18 years.

Excellent pho! Very friendly staff and calm atmosphere.

NOT celiac safe. The menu claims to flag which items are gluten free, but when ordering a gluten free menu item, and confirming, the staff told me it wasn t gluten free. I was left with steamed veggies. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this is a safety issue and needs to be made public. They really shouldn t be randomly saying half the menu is GF when it s not. Scary.

Picked up pad Thai for the wife and kids Kids couldn t eat it because it was so spicy Overpriced as well Food : 1/5

Weve heard marvelous things about this long-time Kanata North staple and were anxious to try it. To be honest, while the two dishes we ordered were tasty, the take-out bowl sizes were medium, at best, and the portions were 25% meat to 75% vegetables & sauces. The biggest surprise & dissapointment was the free steamed rice portion for two prople; maybe a half-cup size! Tasty, but overpriced for the portion sizes received.

Been ordering from here - sometimes eating in - for over 20 years. We love this place. Highly recommend the #32 with pork. Their spring rolls are delicious too!

Good food I love it

I can t say enough great things about Phu-Yen!! AMAZING freshly prepared dishes with flavours that will leave you anticipating what great new dish you ll try on your next visit. This time we tried the curry chicken and General Tao beef. It was unbelievable! Can t wait for our next visit!

Very disappointed with both dishes we ordered. The food was very bland and the servings were small considering the price. I ordered the Spicy Beef Soup, but it was not spicy whatsoever, and felt like it was missing flavouring. Soup was bland and the beef was unseasoned and you only received two thin slices. It was mostly noodles. Very disappointed.

I came here with some work colleagues for lunch and the food was pretty good, portion sizes were fair, and came out fairly quickly. If only it all came out at the same time, that would make it a lot better. Overall, we liked coming here.

Little place but great food

I ordered Thai chicken fried rice. It was supposed to have Thai curry flavored chicken, with pineapple, peas and carrots. They gave me regular chicken fried rice, which had no pineapple or vegetables, and was soysauce flavored. It waa quite bland, and the chicken chunks were very small. I think it was a big ripoff. They charged me $12 for the wrong flavorless dish.

Our family has been ordering take out from Phu-Yen for 20 years. Weve eaten in on a few occasions. Food is always great!

Been coming here for over 20 years. My parents treat me with Phu-Yen for every birthday. The food gets better everytime. Its a shame google only allows 5 stars because this deserves more.

Had great service - food was amazing

I have been going to Phu-Yen for over 15 years and the food is always delicious and fresh.

This place is not safe for anyone with allergies or other serious dietary restrictions. I have Celiac disease and ordered today, being careful to choose items marked gluten-free on their menu. I put a note in the order about this being for someone with Celiac disease and they phoned me back to tell me that one of the items Id ordered (crispy beef) was in fact not gluten-free. I was confused because it was clearly marked as such but they offered a different dish so I accepted, believing that they had my best interests at heart and were offering me what they thought to be a safe alternative. When I arrived to pick up my order I showed them how both their paper and online menus were incorrect and that they should really update them. At this point they decided to tell me that the item theyd offered as a substitution for me also contains gluten. Baffled, I clarified that this is a serious health issue and that they shouldnt be offering me food with gluten in it. At this point they told me its just a little bit of gluten and actually laughed a little bit while saying this to me. I dont think I need to explain how ignorant and unacceptable this is. I told them that there is nothing funny about this and that they could have made me very ill with this error. They also they risk making other people sick if they choose to place faith in their inaccurate menu labels. Im very disappointed in this experience and will never return.

Very good....the won top soup was excellent..black bean sauce and lemon chicken were very good...

We found their menu very appealing with so much variety that we were gladly confused what to choose. Below are the dishes we ordered: Chicken Cashew Curry had no salt no curry. Not sure why it is named like that. It was dry and full of boiled veggies bathed in some sauce with no taste. Szechuan Chicken also was dry with no salt and boiled veggies. The chicken pieces also were completely tasteless. Chicken Fried Rice hardly had any chicken in it. Luckily we had Oyster Sauce , Soy Sauce and corn flour at home and we had to stir fry Chicken Cashew Curry and Szechuan Chicken again at home to avoid wasting food. If we only had to cook food, why would we spend money to get ready food? It was a complete waste of hope, time and money. It was the first time we ordered and were highly disappointed.

Love the food here. Try the Cantonese chow mein! Great spring rolls too.

Cant get enough of there Tom yum soup with shrimp.

On our last trip to Phu Yen, a huge worm was sautéed in the Pad Thai. A worm being in the vegetables, and then getting sautéed should not happen. It can happen. How the staff was fairly dismissive about that is what was the real let down.

Combo plates are very small considering the price, the other entrees were under-seasoned, and Gen. Tao had a two minute shelf life because the breaded chicken was drowning in a watery sauce. Avoid.

The dishes are always cooked with fresh ingredients. The service is fast and the prices reasonable. Have been having their food for years. After all these years they are still very good! Vegetarian options: As a vegetarian myself I appreciate the fact that they offer the tofu option in all their dishes. Since everything is fresh and made to order modifications are taken well. Parking: Located within a strip mall. There s a good size parking lot.

I honestly don t think I have ever written a Google review but this one definitely deserves one. My family have been going here for five years now and it s always amazing and consistent. Definitely worth a try if you haven t already.

Cant eat in during the pandemic, but thats ok and to be expected. We always get takeout anyway and the food is always ready quickly and always delicious. Best spring rolls in Ottawa!

I ordered dinner online at 5.45 and was told the dinner would be ready at 6.20. I showed up at 6.30 and stood around until 7.10 when my dinner arrived. We ordered four dinners- one was too bland, the spicy meal was mildly spicy and my lamb satay had no taste of satay sauce. That is it for me, ordering at this restaurant.

Best food hands down.

This place used to be good but its really been slipping. Ive ordered from here a few times over the last two years and its getting consistantly worse. There was only 2 small shrimp and a few thin slices of chicken and pork in my chow mein, it was also oily and bland. For what you are getting its over priced compared to other Chinese food places in Kanata. Unfortunately today was the last time Im ordering from Phu Yen.

Just awful. They Szechuan beef had absolutely no flavor. It was unseasoned beef with veggies in a spicy (not spiced) brown sauce the consistency of water. Save your money!

I have been a Phu-Yen lover for the last 15 years. My 4 stars are for my overall experience with them. That said, my last two take outs (placed through the website) have not been as good. Both times I ordered vegetable spring rolls and got meat ones instead. And in my order today the Spare ribs were dry and the and everything was a bit greasier than normal. I hope they can be more careful in the future to be sure the order is correct!

Very good restaurant. All the food that I tried here were good. Pad Thai, different fried rice and soups were all good. Price is also reasonable. The restaurant looks clean! Parking available as well.

Always fast, fresh and delicious

Phu-Yen has always been our favorite spot for Vietnamise food. But due to COVID-19 we hadnt order take out in while. However, today we finally did and we were so pleased on how delicious the meals were! Weve never had a bad meal there. Today I ordered a brand new dish and it is now my favorite! # 29 PHO with Shrimp and Grilled Beef! The best PHO soup Ive ever had. So glad Phu-Yen is back to full opening hours. I HIGHLY recommend this spot for delicious, fresh and flavourful Vietnamese food . The owner and the staff are very polite and friendly all the time

Do not eat takeout from here unless you are a vegeterain. Ordered a General Tso chicken and got 7 small pieces of meat and a full carton of Brocolli, Onions and Carrots. Very dissapointed.

The Phu-Yen Restaurant serves Vietnamese and Chinese Food. Please note: Covid 19 Protocols in place here. Stoped in for lunch today, my Niece and I had the Pho Noodle Soup (with rare beef) Bean Sprouts and Basil we added siracha hot sauce. It was so good,( I want more lol). I also had some Chinese Food, Egg Rolls- Chicken Fried Rice Almond Guy Ding and sweet and sour chicken balls. Everything was absolutely delicious very hot and fresh ingredients. We are outside today as it was beautiful out. You can dine in, the decor is nice the staff very friendly. Clean washrooms. I cant wait to go back and try some different dishes, I know I wont be disappointed. Cheers!

Very correct, clean and quiet.

First time ordering. Veggies done to perfection, chicken balls excellent with mostly chicken instead of mostly batter, spare ribs very meaty, all selections we ordered were great. Will definitely go again.

Worst experience of all time. Ordered general Taos chicken for takeout, cost $17, instead was served (no exaggeration) THREE small bites of chicken with a vat of rice. Extremely unacceptable. Wouldn t have mind if the chicken had any flavour at all, instead of legitimately tasteless and dry chicken. Horrible experience.

Only been for lunch and I can highly recommend the place. The rice and vermicelli dishes are delicious. The offer Chinese dishes too, definitely try the Singapore noodles. There are better places for pho though.

Really great place for vietnamese food. Fairly busy during lunch on workdays. They have some nice chinese dishes as well. Service is quick and tables are fairly clean. I usually call for takeout orders. Just be careful that they dont accept credit card for orders under 10$.

If you love pho soup this is the place to go in Kanata.

Absolutely amazing. Try their house curry!! No exaggeration.. the best curry Ive ever had. I had the stew one (they apparently have two). Ive also had one of their Tom Yum soup which was amazing. Prices are good too. This is now my go-to whenever Im in Kanata

Service is rather inexperienced and they dont have a welcoming intake and seating process. Menu options are sometimes high in carbs/low protein. If you happen to pick a balanced dish it will be good.

Clean and fast sevice, but VERY poor quality PHO. The broth tasted like it was made from powder beef stock and they just tried to mask it by adding spices. Definitely not worth it. Additionally, my wife ordered the grilled chicken vermicelli and the chicken was very dry, not freshly made and warmed up in the microwave. Not good for anyone who likes authentic vietnamese cuisine.

Small place, so arrive a bit early because it fills up fast.

Ordered the 112 so chicken chow mein chicken balls and fried rice. The fried rice was burnt, the chicken in the chow mein was fatty and didnt taste very chickeny,the chicken balls had ribbons of chunky fat. The egg rolls were the only thing that tasted like they were supposed to. Ill save my 17.00 and go to Lucky Dragon next time

Best food!

One of the spots that some from our crew visit for lunch, now checked it out myself with family. Clean restaurant, friendly and polite service, everybody liked his ordered food (even my minor daughter loved the chicken pho). Pricing / portion size ratio very fair for the customer, one of the places I did not regret visiting. Actually I plan for a visit later today.

Visited while on a business trip. Ordered the bun bo hue. Full of flavor and served piping hot and spicy, just as the dish is supposed to be. Cafe sua da was excellent as well. Would definitely recommend and come back to.

Good lunch restaurant with many good choices in the menu. The food is fresh and tasty, the service is good and pleasant. The specific is Vietnamese but at least one third of the choices in the menu are chinese. Prices quite decent. The look is a little bit old but it kind of integrate with the specific.

Decent food for the price

Excellent Vietmanese food. Very reasonable prices. Atmosphere is cozy but often noisy, but in a good way. And for a small place it doesnt usually feel cramped.

Service is so so. Food is so so....I would prefer kanata noodle house if u want to try rice noodles.
