30 of us showed up after a celebration of life, with no notice . The staff did the best they could to accommodate us. Everyone got what they ordered and it was delicious. Thank you!!

This is a self serve dine is restaurant. Portion of food served was adequate and tasted good. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. On street parking available near the restaurant. The lady who was serving was very courteous. Recommended for their portion of servings.

Channing has the absolute best Chinese food in Owen Sound. I have been eating here for years and never had food that wasnt amazing! The quality is fantastic and the price reasonable. I miss eating as their dining room closed during covid and I cant wait to eat again in person.

Very disappointed that this restaurant is no longer a done in place and is take out only. My family used to go to here to enjoy a nice dinner together for years and years and now all you can get is take out which is just not the same. Portions are smaller, and the food is just not as good as it used to be. So sad! The restaurant needs major updating.

Good food and big portions for a good price. quick and very friendly service. Was no area available to sit and dine as all the chairs were up on the tables at 3pm on a week day, but I was going for take out anyways. Always my go to Chinese restaurant in owen sound. Have been ordering from here for a long long time, even when they were located between 8th and 7th St. They have always been a favorite. They do get quite busy sometimes, but thats the sign of a really great restaurant.

Channing is always good

Take out only writen on the door. Place looks dirty, food is terrible, first time Ive seen breaded sweet and sour spare ribs. Dont waste your time and money. Food

Best Chinese food in the whole area. The lady who runs this restaurant is a sweetheart. I will say that the cost is high, but I think that s more of a reflection of the world we live in / inflation To keep a local business like this around with amazing food and wholesome people i happily choose to eat here

We moved away from Owen Sound and whenever we go back home we try and order from Channings, never found anything better and the owner and staff are always friendly and absolutely top notch.

Take out only !!!! Update your website Not driving 40 min to eat Chinese food Would like to support local, but not for take out. Most annoying is the phone is busy when you call so you have to drive all the way to see that its TAKE OUT ONLY. You do have the best Chinese food but sorry.

I went there last week and the food was amazing. I always love the won ton soup. The mixed vegetable with beef was delicious.

Excellent Chinese food fresh and light chicken balls and shrimp but sauce and rice could be better? Sauce was a tad runny and rice hard. Maybe if they went to a Jasmin rice and a richer sauce best ever.

We just moved to Owen Sound from Toronto. I m half Chinese, so I m picky about both authentic AND Chinese Canadian food. When it comes to Chinese Canadian fare, Channing turned out to be better than anything we had near us in the city. Definitely recommend and this will be our new go-to place!

I phoned in an order for pick up the next day. It was ready and waiting when I arrived. We were impressed by the enormous honey garlic spare ribs. Full of meat, no gristle and a nice sauce. The lo mein was full of crisp vegetables, lots of chicken and the vermicelli cooked nicely. The beef with vegetable and almond had large pieces of meat and was very good too. The owners are very warm and friendly. I hope their business survives Covid. It is the place to order from in Owen Sound.

Just moved to Chatsworth In April 2020 was kind of nervous to order but it was so delicious and will definitely order again and highly recommend it

Really tasty Canadian Chinese cuisine. Warm and friendly service. Pretty well perfect chicken balls, egg rolls and fried rice. General Tao s chicken is a favourite. The occasional long wait is worth it!

The food was not tasty at all ...I use to eat there 15 years ago ...ws very nice atmosphere. Now only take out the carpet is in needs of a good cleaning...sorry to say i will not be getting food there anymore .

Food lacked flavour, vegetables were undercooked and the egg roll was nearly burnt. Will not return.

Very good restaurant, we had chicken noodles and shrimp rice, full of flavor and fresh. Nice staff, we called 30 min before their closing time to place our order and told then well be there in 20-25 minutes, not a problem at all for them

The food is really good. My boyfriend works away a lot in different places and when he comes home this is the first place we get food from the day he comes home. We usually get it for pick-up and when they give you a time for how long its literally always been the time they gave us. I think we only had to wait once longer and it was only an extra 5-10mins. We dined in once with a group of us and it was a overall good experience. The waitress was knowledgable about the menu, quick, and very likable. Highly recommend.

Im a big fan of Chinese food but in the last few years, my stomach was responding poorly at several Chinese restaurants in other cities. I moved to Owen Sound a couple of years ago and absolutely love eating at Channing! ... and my stomach takes it very well, every single time. Thank you guys! You restored my faith in this industry!

Honey garlic ribs are the best!

Last summer we tried Channings for the 1st time.My husband,and myself loved it.Best Chinese food ever.We live in Binbrook .There is no chinese food restaurant that comes close to Channings.We have been waiting for them to open.Finally success they opened last Thurs June 25th. We have waited all this time to have their yummy chicken balls only to find out they are like everyone elses.Last year thin batter with lots of chicken.Very dusappointed.

Ordered veg stir fried noodles....as I was not having the menu at hand so that was the safest bet...after coming back to my hotel room I called them back to let them know that the simple stir fry noodle tasted soooo awesome and i regret not being able to order anything more.....the food and quantity was worth the money i paid for....

From the restaurant decor to the friendly Asian people who take orders, and deliver it it reminds me of my old home in Agincourt. The food is the most flavorful out of all the other Chinese food places in OS. I recommend this all the time and never had a complaint once. Only issue is placing phone orders...always busy since the place is.

I could rate this restaurant among the best in Southern Ontario for its neat set-up, sumptuous cuisine and more appropriate combo courses or food grouping. However, they serve quite small portions of their regular meal servings...(could have been better if it were for a good 5-star restaurant).

It was very helpful for us because we had a good lunch here. Our son is very picky on food. He liked it so much. Jojo, the server was a very polite and helpful server.

All we eat was too salty and vegetables was like whole (hard to eat). It was actually delicious but all the foods we tried are like similar. Staff was very sweet and nice.

My favourite Chinese restaurant because they seem to be the only place that sells egg foo yung! All up there Chinese dishes are delicious! Our family has an annual tradition if Channings Chinese takeout on Christmas Eve. You must order the day before because it is so popular! Dine-in or take-out are both equally popular. No parking. Be prepared to walk a block. Is wheelchair friendly.

Staff was attentive and friendly. They were familiar with their menus which made ordering easy and quick. Price was reasonable, the quality & quantity of food was more than sufficient.

5 Stars based on their great food. Our favorite place for lunch on our trips to Owen Sound from Sauble. We get the same thing every visit. Won ton soup, egg roll, Channings chow mein and pork fried rice. Bring our own take out containers (hate styrofoam) and end up with 2 or 3 extra meals at home. Best Chinese hands down. Cant reallly believe the fortunes but the cookies are good.

This is by far the best most fresh and non greasy Chinese I have ever had and anyone we have gone there with has said the same thing. The $10 combo plates are perfect for takeout for 1 person and u get a variety of items. Or we get the chicken balls(12 For $9) and the chicken fried rice and they are so good..not hard vegetables, seem very fresh and high quality cant say enough good things about changing seriously worth the money you spend and your full at the end

Its a Chinese restaurant, but everyone seems to be Canadian. We were the only Asians. The fried chicken is very crispy and delicious. Most of the food was a little salty, but the shrimp and vegetables were fresh, so it was good. Best of all, the price is cheap. Great value for money

Overall, pretty decent. The sweet and sour sauce was more orange than red. Tasted a bit too vinegary for us. The wonton soup was blah. Not a lot of flavour. The wontons were nicely done but the broth was basically hot water.
