137 2nd Ave E, Owen Sound, ON N4K 5T2, Canada
Low-key space with a fireplace offering basic American comfort eats, plus a patio with park views.
First time visiting this restaurant. We took our kids there to have dinner first, then walk around to look at all the Christmas lights. It ended up taking an hour and a half to only get the food for the kids (which is ideal), but then another 20 mins to get the food for all of the adults. I had the clubhouse sandwich, and it was pretty good. The fries, like many other reviews say, were cold and tasted like they weren't cooked long enough. We watched other tables come in and sit down after us and get their food served before us. Nobody bothered to apologize to us about the wait or explain what was going on. We ended up not being able to see the Christmas lights because it was way past the kids' bedtime before we paid and left. We were offered 2 free butter tarts even though we have a table of 6 adults and 6 kids. It was not a great experience, and I won't be back again.
A family favourite! Great food, lovely staff & amazing chefs! My personal favourite is the French Onion soup with their fries and gravy. I do manage to sneak a few bites off of my husband's plate & their daily specials are equally delicious! Everything on the menu is worth a try! Keep up the good work!
This restaurant has no business being this good. We stopped in after a hike, thinking we would just get a plate of fries, but we grabbed a burger and some gravy for our fries and this was the best burger we had had in a long time. The fries were steak cut and they were delicious, especially with the gravy that tasted like it was stolen from grandma’s table at Thanksgiving. As if this comfort food wasn’t enough, we had the deep fried ice cream and collapsed into a glorious food coma. So. Good.
Everyone is so nice, the wait time was small very quiet and clean on the in side. The food was delicious
I went to Harrison Park Inn Restaurant during my vacation to Owen Sound. Upon walking around Harrison Park and the trail areas I stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The food was really good, the prices were fair, staff were nice. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd recommend giving them a shot especially if you're not from the city and visiting/ camping.
Recommended to our group by a few people, we decided to check out Harrison Park Inn restaurant. Unfortunately we were tight on time so we didn't get to explore the campground, but staff at the restaurant were very nice. The food is simple: burgers, wraps, fries, etc. I ordered the Reuben which was pretty solid!
Always a lovely place and restaurant to be. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The service staff Briana was very attentive. The Phyllysteak on toasted garlic panini was scrumptious with garden salad on the side 🌹
We had Battered Mushrooms, Chicken Wings (hot) and Fish and Chips. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. The fish was crispy and light, loved the thick cut chips. The wings easily came off the bones in the mouth. However, we visited during peak lunch time so it took time to be seated. Nevertheless will visit again in future.
So friendly. Beautiful meals. Consistently great. My favorite when in Owen Sound.
Quality food, good variety, prices are very reasonable, service is efficient, and friendly. Well worth going for a meal.
Food is good but didnt get my full order... I called in to order again and there is no Manger to confirm that I didnt get my meal comped. And the staff is unhelpfu.
If you want a tasty burger than look no further! Mouth watering good prics as well.
Super slow service and my hot chocolate turned to warm chocolate
A great family restaurant right in the middle of Harrison Park. Whether you are camping in the park, or visiting to walk the trails, this spot is great to stop and get some food. They do have a pretty good fish and chips. Parking: Large lots nearby Kid-friendliness: Catered towards families
Best club sandwich I have ever had. My wife and I both get it every time we come to Owen sound
Dined in and ordered a $20 burger. Came cold with no fries or salad. Expensive. Poor quality. Very disappointing. Ive been coming to this restaurant since I was a child and have experienced service and food quality declining over that period. What a disappointment.
Poor poor service. They should not. Have a takeout when they cannot service customers for over an hour.
Had the fish and chips, best Ive ever had from a restaurant. Great service, friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back with my family. Parking: Large parking lot
Can you please ask whoever to put some swings back in, thanks
Harrison Park Inn and Restaurant is delicious, reasonable, fairly priced and super friendly. This restaurant is my go to stop every time I have the chance to drive through Owen Sound. The staff and owner are top notch and understand the importance of customer and community service. Go now! Wheelchair accessibility: The property is ramped for access and the washroom is equipped with grab bars and an accessible stall.
We only got icecream cones at the take-out window, but weve gone back each time weve been here this summer
The service was beyond slow and the fries were not hot when I explicitly told them they MUST be hot. The quality of the rest of the food was acceptable but not extra ordinary. To top it off, it was extremely noisy at times.
Weve always had great experiences at this wonderful restaurant. Set in a forest type of setting.
What a little gem of a place in Owen Sound. Hard to believe that you are in the middle of the city. So relaxing on the patio, sitting amongst to beautiful trees. Our grandson enjoyed the Mile Drive burger and fries, everyone enjoyed their choices. The soup was the star of my choice.
Potatoes and vegetables almost cool ,liver was good
Always love this spot, I like the park atmosphere; come summer you can do take out.service was great; food was timely delivered. Dined in with a friend. We had a turkey & bacon lettuce wrap, we both had a side of garden salad. Filling and was tastey; should have taken half the sandwich home! Small eaters might need to share a sandwich . Although I kinda miss the chicken quesidas...its no longer on this menu and it was always delicious. Parking: Part of the public park, that its free. Kiids playground right beside the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Kids playground right beside the restaurant. Accessible washrooms from the park and inside the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair ramp available.
We havent been to The Harrison Park in ages and I was so happy with the food and service especially since they were packed and turning people away.
My partner and I went to eat here this evening. My partner has celiac disease and told them about this while we ordered; however, they gave a regular bun instead of a gluten free one. At that point, it was too late since he had already eaten it. They need to take allergies and intolerances more seriously.
Busy restaurant inside of Harrison Park. Causal food menu suitable for family with kids, dont set expectations, reasonable price, average service
It has been our tradition for quite a while to go down to the park and get a park burger. We usually went about 1-2 times a month. It was such a bright spot in our schedule. Unfortunately the prices have put an end to that. Burger, fries and a pop are over $20. Hey, if you can charge that much and people continue to come then good for you. But I will really, really miss eating at Harrison Park Inn Restaurant. Nothing like a Park Burger on a sunny day at the park.
We love the Harrison Park lnn . Best food ever.
Definitely my go to restaurant whenever Im in Owen Sound!! The food is soooo good, the best service around and the location is fantastic. Highly recommend trying out this restaurant.
Excellent as always!!
This place is located inside Harrison Park. Great food and service been going here since i was a kid. They have a outside order window where you can grab an ice cream and stroll the beautiful park trails
Anastasia was a great server and the food was great!
Fantastic food, been there a few dozen times and never been disappointed with the quality of food and the service. Nice bonus of a take-out window for the park as well!
New Year Eve. Busy night, lots of people, skurring waitresses trying to get to everyone.food was excellent. Outside atmosphere worth the time for a stroll. Nice evening out. Parking: Easy
I love Harrison park! Dietary restrictions: There is gluten free and vegetarian. Parking: This is a beautiful park. Its gorgeous in the winter and the summer. They put Christmas lights all through the park in the winter. And the hot chocolates to die for Wheelchair accessibility: Yes wheelchair accessible
I like the fact that you can see outside in four seasons. The food is fine, the service really great and the atmosphere of a restaurant in a beautiful park. The icing on the cake.
Another great meal! Chicken stir fry! A plate full and good to the very end.
I met Wendel Clark there.
Anyone can make a mistake but how a business responds to their mistake is key. I ordered a poutine at the take out counter - I was the only one in line and there was one table in the sit down restaurant so it was not busy. I stood in full view of staff for 15 minutes while I waited and never got my order. No apology or any sincere acknowledgement that my order must not have gone through. No attempt to take responsibility for this error and do the right thing and make me feel like they valued my time and money at all. I asked for my money back and despite paying with a card was given cash back less the tax I paid! I had to return to the counter to ask for my $1.17 tax paid. No one in this place could have cared less that I had patiently waited for my order. No attempt at letting me know my business mattered a whit. This was my first time here and I was initially pleased to discover this facility right next door to the skating rink and the opportunity to support an independent business. Well, I will never go back. I am now at Harveys where I got a warm and genuine welcome and a delicious poutine for 20% less cost. One poutine may not seem like a big deal but if it leads to return business, it could mean a lot of business. A real fail today.
Good burgers
Best breakfast, best service, best prices.
Awesome fries on a cold day!
Great place to eat,excellent food
Very much enjoyed our meal at Harrison Park. Had the Park Burger with fries and gravy. Service was fast, food was hot. Only comment I would make is the portions of fries could be better. Very inexpensive way to prop up the plate volume a bit. Waters were kept full. It was a great experience!
Had a delicious lunch with my mother and uncle. The food was fresh and very flavourful. I had the special, which was a breaded fish on a bun with a garden salad. The potion size was generous. The only detracting factor was that they still have dividers (like office cubicles) randomly still up between seats. Which blocks the beautiful view beyond windows of Harrison Park. Exploring the walking paths beyond the restaurant is a lovely way to finish off the experience.
What a great place, food amazing, service excellent, cant wait to go back!!!
This place has Gluten-free buns (for an extra $2.49) and burger patties. I had chicken on a gluten free bun; not the most exciting flavour-wise but it was gluten free and the restaurant seemed to take care to ensure it would be safe for me, as I have Celiacs, to eat. The two I was with had burgers, fries and onion rings which they both seemed to thoroughly enjoy with a reasonable price point too.
Staff was friendly and very attentive,
Needs a bit of an update, but still go there
Buy the French onion soup
Liver and onions were awesome! Very nice Caesar salad to start. Chicken rice bowl very good as well. You have to have the home made rice pudding for dessert! Table service was excellent. Food : 5/5
Harrison Park Inn Restaurant is a quaint family restaurant with a fire place inside for warming yourself after some family fun on the snow hill in the winter time. During the summer they have a small fenced in patio you can enjoy during the day. I wouldnt recommend the patio in the evenings during the summer due to the mosquitoes. The menu is priced well for what they offer and a kids menu is also available.
Small quant great food great staff
Great food, great service, great location. Will be back
Didn t realize that we needed a reservation. Show up for breakfast and event thought there was lots of empty tables we were refused. Told we needed a reservation. I feel that maybe that should be posted somewhere . Instead of waiting to be seated, asked how many were in our party and then being told sorry no. Will never go back.
This restaurant is located near the entrance of Harrison Park; the food and prices were average, and the service was friendly. The atmosphere was not the best, just average.. They offered the typical family restaurant meals with burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc. with drink menu. Overall, I would recommend grabbing a bite here to eat after exploring Harrison Park and its trails. If you choose not to go here, there is a concession stand outside with fair prices. Parking: There is plenty of free parking in Harrison Park where the restaurant is located.
Great food. Decent service. Amazing location. Family friendly as well.
Best burger in Owen Sound!
Would give 4.5 stars if I could. Lovely family-friendly restaurant in the heart of a large, beautiful park with camping sites, walking trails, and multiple childrens playgrounds. Menu isnt huge, but certainly offers enough choice, and the food is nicely prepared and presented by extra-friendly wait staff. Prices are very reasonable, and the setting is gorgeous, whether summer or winter, making this a must-do attraction and dining experience. Parking: Park in one of the many parking areas, enjoy the park attractions, and have lunch here. Makes a great outing.
Large fries were ripoff and u get 2 chicken stips in crispy chicken burger for 8.99. Overprised for a below average food.
Served me cold mash potatoes then tried to serve me microwaved potatoes, I will never go back.
Great place to visit and grab some food, indoor or outdoor dining
Our waitress was Great. The restaurant is very nice. I ordered a chicken stir fry and was very disappointed. The menu said it was a Favourite menu item!!! Veggies were soaked is sweet sauce and overcooked. Rice was ok at best.
Good food, though a bit expensive.
Beautiful
We visited the restaurant for Dine-in on Saturday night. Fish & Chip special. There was plenty of food for the price, the service was friendly and quick. We will go back again.
Parking: Lost all the birds but still great to check out Food
Kid-friendliness: Right next to the park so kids can play. Food
Food is below avg. Ok burger. Good fish. Bad fries. Bad gravy. Service is OK. Atmosphere is OK. Run down inside. Low standards for here. Price point is avg
My family just moved to owen sound from Brampton and WE LOVE IT. This park is such a beautiful hidden gem its so pleasant and peaceful and spacious. My kids love it and this restaurant in the center of it is such an amazing addition. In the gta we have never seen a restaurant in a park and now this place has me wondering how come. Its such a brilliant idea and the food is amazing !!! We love it. There is not 1 menu item that isnt delicious and the staff are incredible
Good menu but little bit pricy
Great food but the service was very slow and the place was extremely noisy, even though it was about half empty.
Camped at the park and thoroughly enjoyed getting takeout from the Inn!
Wonderful place to Eat and camp
Host was lovely, sat us down, but that was the end of our service, we waited a good 20 minutes as we watched at least 4 more tables get served before we were even offered drinks, nice looking restaurant, but we will not be returning. Store was not busy, only about 70% of the tables were filled
Great burgers, nice little restaurant.
Enjoyed the delicious pasta and sausage meal for dinner. Very nice! Also enjoyed the restaurant in the park atmosphere. I would return.
Great quality for your dollar, along with an attention to flavour details.
Service was good but way too slow getting our food ..
Home style cooked food. No huge WOW factor or fancy dishes but good regular food in lovely setting
Fantastic food but prices are high.
I have dined in the restaurant and used the take out window. Depending on your needs, both are great options for reasonable prices.
Good food
We stopped for lunch and had the special the quality was great with a good quantity at a reasonable price.
Food was top notch! Dining experience could use an upgrade but the food makes it all worth it.
Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant has a cement ram leading up to the entrance. Recommended dishes
Good food. Many beers on tap. Excellent location.
I have celiac and was able to enjoy a burger on a homemade gf bun. The staff was friendly and attentive to my food sensitivities.
Such a beautiful area , food is delicious and staff was very friendly. A great way to spend the day with family outdoors
Recommend to us from a local, great spot for lunch.
I ve had bigger, fish sticks for fish and chips once the batter was taken away and After pointing it out, I was still charged for two piece, fish and chips. It was barely 3 bites once you take away the batter very disappointed.
Service was great. Drinks were delicious. Different varieties of beer on Tap.
Just love it
The ice cream looked good.
The place is great, service is great, one person meal cost you between 20 to 30.
Our meals were brought to our table twice. My turkey was dried out. All my vegetables were lukewarm. Both dinners were removed from our bill, but Thanksgiving dinner was spoiled. We had chicken fingers, onion rings coffee wine and a grilled cheese for $56 plus tip. We did not have enough cutlery or coffee creamer or sweeter. All in all it was a place I will never visit again.
We always go here for brunch and the kids live playing at the park after. Be sure to catch the salmon run in the fall and take a stroll around the park. There are lots of paths to take and wildlife to see. I hope the bird sanctuary comes back, our boys loved feeding the birds and the chipmunks.
Incredible service
This restaurant is a fantastic local gem nestled in the heart of the citys most beautiful park. Be sure to try some of the tried tested and true staples like fries and gravy, a club sandwich, or ice cream, or any of the wonderful dishes they serve. My personal fave: a deep fried snowball. If youre celebrating or need a pick me up with a friend; order a snowball, and start with dessert first! Highly recommend stopping here with the family, with a friend or on your own. Enjoy!
A must stop for us every time were in Owen Sound, which is fairly often. Just love this restaurant! They never disappoint or leave you hungry. Great food, great service & great portions! Vegetarian options: Didnt really pay attention. Meat & potatoes gal here. Parking: Restaurant is located in beautiful Harrison Park. Large parking lot with accessible parking right in front of restaurant. Kid-friendliness: Its a park with a huge playground. Kids are welcome everywhere & I believe there are some meals geared to kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility from the outside is a wide cement ramp with very sturdy metal railings. The washrooms have accessible stalls and a lower sink. The restaurant is easy to maneuver a wheelchair, rollator, or walker in, and the staff are extremely helpful.
Awesome, great food!
It was very busy, but the service was excellent, no long wait, friendly. Couldnt ask for more
Went for dinner with family celebrating recent birthdays. We all enjoyed our dinners and excellent service Thank you so much.
I had the Turkey dinner which was very good. The service was wonderful. A wonderful place to relax with family.
Lousy service, waited 10 minutes after being seated, only 1 other table. Never got to order. Tables that came in after got served first
Just ate dinner there 30 mins ago. Dinner tasted a little off, now both of us feel sick to our stomachs. Will see how the night goes.
Try to plug in our slow cooker to keep our food warm and the plugs did not work we were told no barbecuing was allowed yet two families came in and barbecued right under the gazebo with all of us there and no consideration for anyone else around them yet we couldnt find any park stuff at any time
Had the turkey dinner, was fantastic. I definitely recommend it. Parking: Great parking, large parking area Wheelchair accessibility: Power doors with large Buttons
The burgers are fantastic.
Loved it
Always great staff Very good with seniors
We arrived there after 10 km hike and it was fantastic to see a place that served beer. Its staff were really polite and friendly.
Great place!!!!
Nice place !
Great
Must try London ice creams..
Wonderful food, wonderful service.
The park is lovely and the fries with gravy have been a favorite since I was a kid.
Excellent place to chill out.
food was great,very friendly service
Had hot roast beef my go to for over 20 years at the restaurant, it was thinly sliced deli meat, fantastic wait staff She was very apologetic I told her she didn t have to apologize it was the meat that was the disappointment so they knocked off $1.66 off of $70 bill and gave the waitress a $10 tip as I said this had nothing to do with her
Food was good but a little skimpy..did not leave full but maybe thats not a bad thing
Quite a gem in the Harrison park. Onion soup with garlic bread is out of this world!
The food was amazing, and our server went above and beyond!! Beautiful back patio in an awesome location. Highly recommend!
Excellent place to get a quick bite to eat while enjoying the park. Food was good, service was good. Lots of picnic tables and sitting!
Even though I lived in Owen Sound for 34 years, my experience at the Harrison Park Restaurant was my first time ever. My granddaughter and I were there for lunch about a month ago. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, my favourite of them all. It was the best Reuben ever, and Ive had many of them at delis with good reputations in Toronto. Everything about it was beyond perfect, fresh and super-delicious, and even the fries were very tasty. Excellent service as well. We ate on the outside patio, an added treat. I can hardly wait for our trip back to Owen Sound in the fall, so we can order the same thing again. An added bonus - Harrison Park is the most beautiful of parks, a hidden treasure - well worth seeing.
This place is just okay. The food is still equally as bland as when I came here three years ago. Service needs a dramatic improvement, including the decor. If you get the chance to sit on the outdoor patio, you will at least have a lovely view to appreciate.
Lovely outdoor patio.
Good fries!
Excellent year round indoor dining restaurant within the park. Also offers a takeout window in season.
Love the food! 11a.m. opening time is my only complaint Great staff
Great waitress!! But food took too long for what we orderd and it was ok food!
We were quite happy with our food and the server was very good too!
Lovely spot in a beautiful park. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramps to restaurant & washrooms.
Delicious Thanksgiving Turkey plate ..veggies nicely done.. pumpkin pie too!
This is a fantastic place for young families. Great playground.
I got ice cream here and the service was absolutely delightful! The ice creams were delicious too!!
Reasonably priced, great burgers
Such a comfy place to eat. Great staff Parking: A ridiculous amount of parking. Kid-friendliness: Great for families. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to get inside and auto doors.
We had ice cream, ordered outside.
Vegetarian options: Loaded Veggie Grilled cheese is awesome! Food
I give 5 stars as the staff is always friendly and they have the best gluten free burger Ive ever had..hands down!! Must try the gluten free park burger on a gluten free bun!! Dietary restrictions: They offer some gluten free options that are actually really really good!!
Made a quick day trip home and stopped in for lunch. 6 of us and everything was perfect. The Park Burger is hands down the best homemade burger on the planet.
