The Curry House is back! After the tragic passing of Sherif last year, the food quality really did take a hit, unfortunately. I ordered a couple of times shortly after to support but haven t ordered in probably 8 months. I thought it was time to try again and wow, what a turnaround. The butter chicken regained its great flavour and consistency, the beef vindaloo was spicy and savory and the garlic naan was just outstanding. Im so happy as I m sure everyone is about the progress in the case against those involved in Sherifs passing. I m also excited my favorite Indian restaurant is back to serving great flavour again. If you haven t eaten here in the last 6 months, you need to give it another go! RIP Sherif, justice is being served for your family and the entire community, while your legacy lives on through your amazing food!

Im sorry, the food was not worth it went there due to Shareef but i will not recommend it

I love the food here. In the past it has been somewhat underseasoned but the last couple of times its exceeded my expectations. Vegetarian options: Not interested in vegetarian but vegan. They have several options and more that they seem to accommodate happily.

I had the vegan Mushroom Pulao and it was delicious. The cilantro was fresh and noticeable *chefs kiss*. Naan and rice were well cooked and overall an excellent meal. Staff were great for accomodating the extra spice to give it a bit more kick. $18 for a large plate. Highly recommend!

I literally just ordered take out. Got 2 orders of butter chicken and im shocked .....this is not butter chicken, at all. For $20.00 plus tax and i got 2 orders of butter chicken. I got about 7 tiny peices of chicken and this watered down, sweet kind of sauce with rice for both orders. This is sad, im sad, it doesnt even remotely look like butter chicken. Unfortunately this will be the last time i order from here, i was so happy that they re opened and was really looking forward to eating some great food.....but this is just extremely disappointing.

Happy to see the restaurant open after recent tradegy. Ordered two dishes for takeout. Butter chicken and Madras Chicken. Both dishes were tasty and worth waiting for. Will be sure to try the other dishes on the takeout menu, and look forward to dining in with my wife next opportunity. Used free street parking, and browsed local artist co-op while waiting for the meals to be prepared as i placed the takeout order in person. All togather a pleasant experience.

The food was excellent! Five adults shared butter chicken, lamb korma, shrimp masala, chicken biryani, alo gohbi and Chana masala. Lots of leftovers to enjoy tomorrow!

Really tasty food. Ive been looking for a good Indian food place in the area and I found one. We got the dinner for 2 and it had a really nice variety and it was not over cooked so the spices came through nicely.

Alert-They don t serve fresh Naan. They will service you frozen Naan from Walmart. Pathetic!!

Had a chicken jalfrezi, garlic naan and rice last night - ate in at the restaurant staff were super welcoming and attendant and friendly. Food was awesome I am a recent-ish immigrant from Scotland and the uk where curry is king - the Curry House in Owen Sound rivalled the curry s of the Uk! Great taste, good balance of flavours and good spice. Dish was perfect - chicken was tender and vegetables still had bite to them. Indian beer to compliment was spot on too. Will definitely be returning!

Took 30 mins for one order of butter chicken 20 mins after the store opening. Food is flavourless chicken chunks are bland n dry and the butter chicken sauce is sweet no heat whatsoever and it doesn t taste like butter chicken at all

We visited The curry house on June 3rd with family and friends. It was one of the few restaurants which were open till 10 pm. We ordered dal tanka, aaloo gobhi, paneer butter masala and butter naan. The food was delicious, service was good. The owner/ manager was polite and good natured. We had 4 kids with us and took the initiative of bringing plain yogurt for them. We relished the food and service...definitely worth going again. Thank you

Was looking for a fresh, authentic Indian food restaurant during our visit to Tobermory/ Owensound recently. Had a great Lunch here . We ordered vegetarian food like mixed veg curry and paneer with Naans . Food was so fresh, yummy, and made us eat more than what we wanted to. Thank you so much Anis for a good service . We were served well in time and atmosphere was good too. Will visit again during our next trip to Bruce Peninsula. Vegetarian options: Very good and tasty vegetarian options available.

Sharif and crew are expert chefs. For someone well-experienced in Toronto-area Indian food, it was a relief to find an authentic Indian restaurant when visiting Owen Sound. The spicing was flavourful and as hot as I like it (hot: lamb vindaloo!), portions were generous and wonderful touches, like a scrumptious homemade sauce to go with the pakora. I will go again and again.

We love the Curry House because the food is delicious and a great value (large servings). We order from the Curry House for most of our family celebrations - birthdays, anniversaries, graduations - and the owner is so thoughtful - puts wonderful messages in our take-out order. Many fond memories involve Curry House food!

I went here for dinner for the first time last night and truly enjoyed it. We placed our order and the gentleman working gave us lots of helpful tips and suggestions. We ended up going with some of his suggestions and were very happy we did- the items he suggested were our favourites. Overall, the food was delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend this restaurant and plan on becoming a regular.

My husband happened to notice this restaurant while we were driving through downtown so we decided to give it a try. I m so glad we did. The food and service were excellent. I had the shrimp malai which was perfect since I can t eat spicy. My husband had chicken biryani and was able to have the spicy level adjusted to what he likes. We will definitely be back :)

This very small restaurant has great food and good service. Selections range from mild to spicy and there is a good selection so there is something for everyone.

Worst Indian food ever had. Ordered 3 curry dishes, each had coloured water in the name of curry. And it tasted more like frozen food than something freshly made. To be honest, even frozen food tastes better than this. They also need to work on their restaurant atmosphere and services.

We stopped in for an early dinner. After asking for recommendations we had shrimp and lamb meals. The food was incredible. Each dish had a very distinct and delicious flavour. By far the best curry dishes we have ever experienced. We will certainly be back.

Amazing food! I am from out of town and visit for vacation, I always make sure to stop here during my visit! The service is amazing, you can tell the food is made with care and is overall one of the top Indian restaurants I have been to (and I have been to many). Can t wait to return next time!

Second time dining in and have also ordered takeout on several occasions. Small dining room, but you can usually get a table. Appears to be a thriving takeout business, but you should take the opportunity and dine in. The owner is a really nice gentleman and very helpful in providing suggestions. The food was absolutely amazing; as good as or better than curries Ive had in Toronto and the UK. We had chicken, lamb and vegetarian dishes. All were extremely favorable, including the vinderloo. Sometimes the heat can be unbearable and the food flavourless - not here. PEEFECT. We will definitely be back to support this local business! 1st class

For many years one of the best restaurants in town. Probably the best curry place in Bruce/Grey county. Portions quite generous and there are both more authentic and westernized dishes on offer. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very intimate. Order early because sometimes they are very busy. Vegetarian options: On of the best in town in town for vegetarian options. If I have vegetarian guests, I order from here. Many vegetarian dishes can be prepared vegan as well.

We ordered food from curry house the taste of food was very worst we got a worst experience and the owner was also very rude and the naan was frozen they made frozen naan and we ordered three curries and the taste were same and not like eatable. I recommend to everyone please ignore that restaurant and save your money. Thanks

Amazing food and good looking chef !

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience dining at this restaurant. Severely under-staffed and the food was not up to the mark either. To what i saw, i can guess that the naans were not freshly made and baked like one would see/expect at any other Indian restaurants. Instead, they used pre-packed frozen ones (happy to edit this point if i am proven wrong)

Drove into Owen Sound for the day. We were directed to the Curry House by an employee at the visitor centre after we asked for recommendations. We had a delicious lunch which which was comprised of the Mixed Platter, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and the Madras Lamb. Delightfully delicious and very filling. Great service.

The food was phenomenal, and the staff was so kind and attentive. I asked for hot sauce thinking I d have Tabasco, but the chef prepared a hot sauce in the kitchen and sent me a whole container home for no additional charge. You can t get service like this elsewhere!!!

Great place to eat, got variety of dishes

Very sad to hear about the owner who lost his life just because some oxygen thieves who were probably born and raised by rats did not want to pay for their meals. They decided to attack and murder him in cold blood. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

we were in Owen Sound and decided to have dinner at The Curry House. We had a very nice dinner: lentil soup and lamb curry were really good.

Always enjoy eating at the Curry House. Warm Friendly atmosphere, Good selection of ala carte dishes, and set meals, with a full range of Indian mild to spicy dishes. Selections range from Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, to Madras, and Vindalo. They are prepared to taylor the spicyness of the dishes on request. Set Meals usually come with two vegetible sides, plus nann bread and a Meat main of chicken, Beef, or Lamb. I have tried most of the set meals and never been dissappointed. During COVID times it was a favourite for take out options, and the food was always ready on time, and of good taste. Free local Parking is available on the main street, 2 hr limit during peak hours, or in a nearby Owen Sound parking lot wiith a 5 hr limit during peak hours. Wash Room facitities were above par. If you like Indian Cuisine definitley worth a try if you are in Owen Sound.

Five stars across the board: food quality & taste, service, and value. We (4people) ordered: two chicken biryani; meat baryani , chicken Masala, vegetable Samosa and nan. Everything was supremely delicious. Service was attentive and responsive. Exceptionally good value for the dollar. A truly satisfying and enjoyable Indian dining experience.

Attendant is very rude and dumb. We called him to make reservation for 10 ppl and he said you can come to restaurant. After 15 mins when we went there he said , he is alone so can accommodate only 6 ppl. Where as other tables were empty.

Name says fine dining but the quantity, quality and experience is mediocre at best. Mango Lassi was concentrate based too sweet something. Mutton was about 50grams by weight and curry was tomato based sweet for rogan josh. Chicken and mutton both were not fresh hence chewy Naan was alright but lacks the texture or finish of a place of this repute. If you love the Indian way of cooking, this isnt it

Never prefer this restaurant, We have ordered biriyani but we got tomato rice mixed with chicken pieces and we call to restaurant for what happened they didn t even replied properly and they were supporting it as their biriyani is like that ,finally the taste is bad it s not biriyani and the quantity is not worthy

If there is an award for the worst chicken biryani this restaurant deserves the most for an entire century. Customer service was extremely rude and harsh. Mr. Rahman doesnt even have a minimum knowledge of food and customer service. I would say he is unfit for the job. Never prefer this restaurant for food especially when you are hungry. That shit s gonna kill your taste buds.

The worst food I ve ever had in my entire life . Attitude of the receptionist is executive disappointing we had a very bad experience. We even had a call with Mr. Rahman who was the receptionist there and was very rude. Please ask the chef to learn how to cook. Mr. Chef please Stop watching YouTube while cooking.

Please be aware of this place. The biryani at this place is not actual Biryani but it is Tomato rice with Chicken pieces. They charge more than the cost of ingredients used for this Biryani. This place is known to fraud people by selling tomato rice with name of Biryani. Management just escapes from taking responsibilities.

Stopped by around noon and had a go at their lunch menu. Very pleased with the quality of food and tasted even better. The chicken vindalo had the perfect mix of flavour to spice! The staff was very polite and they made it obvious that they cared dearly for their customer s experience. Will definitely be going back

We have been enjoying the wonderful food there since they opened. It is wonder and the staff are friendly and professional. We love it still! We dine in or take out..it is all wonderful. Vegetarian options: Great vegetarian offerings Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs to climb..straight in from the sidewalk.

Wonderful dinner here this evening. Samosas, butter chicken, basmati rice and garlic naan. The service was exceptional and the food was even better. Highly recommend You wont be disappointed.

Very good food, and the chef was able to match my high level of spicy preference! I had the lamb/rice/vegetable/naan lunch combo. Very nice, quaint indoor dining (maybe 5 or 6 tables?). But I ordered TakeOut. Free parking on the street right out front.

Our Dinner was a disappointment. The curry did not even smell or taste like curry. It was thrown together with boiled frozen veggies. The Aloo Gobi was bland. We will not order here again. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegan options
