I got the Beast Burger, with the dill potato salad and Mac n cheese. The burger was amazing! The potato salad was good. The Mac n cheese was disappointing. Overall I liked my food I just wouldn t order the Mac n cheese again. Just did not seem at the same quality like the rest of the food.

Great place to go and eat. The only complaint that I have is that they should introduce vegan friendly menu options. There were a few menu options that could have worked. Unfortunately, the grill is shared.

Was visiting from Toronto, and stopped here. It was a great little spot with a great menu! Smoked Brisket, pulled pork, reubens. Not just your standard pub fare. I immediately felt the need to tell everyone i knew in Owen Sound about it. Bar/lounge area looked nice, but felt like it needed something like a fireplace to perfect the cozy atmosphere and make me want to stay all day. Waitress was perfect. I wish we had places like this in Toronto. We visted at 1130am on Wedensday and the place immediatly had people for almost every table and everything went smoothly.

Everything here is perfect! From the very clean washrooms to the great food and atmosphere! Tulla (our server) was super friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Will definitely come here again

I saw the sign in the distance and imagined what kind of restaurant I wanted to experience that day. I thought maybe this place will be quaint, nicely decorated, clean, will have great food and some interesting dishes would be a bonus too, cold draft local beer on tap and I m a happy camper. If it ticked a few boxes I d be very happy. We decided to give this place a go and I am happy to report this place managed to be a dream come true. It ticks all the boxes.

Absolutely love this place! Good food nice patio friendly atmosphere. Would love to see a little more variety in wine choices. Maybe Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Unfortunately, I have mentioned A few times my concerns that I wish they would serve a Sauvignon Blanc and nothing has changed. I love everything else about this place but it is also about customer service.

Went here for the first time with a party of 8. Antojitos appitizer. you get 1......ONE!! Cut in half about the size of a spring roll for $13. We were a family who hadnt gotten together in a while, we were all deep in conversation when our server asked us to stop talking so she could tell us the specials.....didnt realize we were on a time crunch. Severely overpriced for tiny portions and i mean TINY!!!! Will not be returning

First time going here and was not disappointed. Tucked way down the end of 2nd Avenue towards the arena, this spot must be hopping on game night. The beef brisket was beautifully tender and tasty. The sides were okay but not great. I found the value for the money was spot-on for the meal. There was just one waiter on and she was slammed for the lunch rush but kept her sense of humor and made sure everyone was taken care of. Really happy to have discovered this tucked away pub.

We picked up the smoked pork chop special, pulled pork mac and cheese, and two yummy desserts to take to our room at the Best Western last night. Toula and the team prepared an amazing spread - everything was so delicious! We have been away from OS for 8 months and truly missed the great smokehouse flavours and superb and friendly service. And thnx for the cookies Toula! They were perfect with our morning coffee. Review readers - don t judge the book by its cover. This place is the best!

I enjoyed the food for most part, potatoes could have used more cooking time as some were cold. The shrimp tacos and the beast burger were quite good though. The server had a bit of shortness with us and made some questionable remarks. I will give it another chance as it was busier today and they only had the one server on (especially cause the time I went last year I had no problems). However I had to dismiss a lot of the comments made to make my night enjoyable.

The ONLY reason why I m giving it a 3 star is because of my last experience, I have gone before and it was an amazing experience, especially with the wait staff. The atmosphere is extremely lively and has an overall amazing vibe. The walls plastered with different symbols and quotes add to the experience and are entertaining to look at. The food: with all my prior experiences with The Yard, the food was served at amazing temperatures with awesome flavour, however this time I had gone, the potatoes were undercooked and soggy, the macaroni and cheese lacks flavour and just tastes like wet noodles somewhat covered in cheese. The burger I had was absolutely fantastic properly cooked, decently portioned, but if I m going to pay $22 for a meal, I d expect fully cooked potatoes and seasoned macaroni and cheese. The service: definitely the most disappointing category of tonight. I totally understand busy nights and being overwhelmed, I also understand it s difficult to maintain composure at the night continues to get longer and more hectic. I can t excuse rudeness or a snappy attitude while me and my partner were being respectful, letting our waiter know that we were in no rush and that we understand the stress one could be under. Our waiter got upset by the way we ripped our receipt, I have the same machines at work and understand that the customer receipt will print automatically if given no input by either the customer or merchant, making it a minor inconvenience, but although a customer ripping a receipt off a machine may not happen daily, groaning and grunting at that situation is uncalled for. It s not hard to reprint a receipt if the last four digits on a card end up being illegible, and talking in a condescending tone towards my partner was not necessary. Earlier in the night when we were deciding on a pitcher for our table, my partner asked the waiter about what was on tap, we get if you only have locals on tap but acting like we re a nuisance for asking if there is also domestic and getting snappy with my partner over it is absolutely disgusting behaviour. Going back to my point about telling him we were in no rush, I find it unnecessary to respond with unneeded attitude. I will be returning, and hopefully have a much different experience with the food and service. If this was my first time at The Yard. I definitely wouldn t be returning.

Great Place and the several was great

I am very disappointed in this restaurant. I pre-ordered my lunch. Gluten-free ahead of time arrived picked up and left. When I got back and opened up my lunch, not only was it not gluten-free it was not what I ordered. So I was without lunch now and could not go back, they offered a credit but that doesn t make up for a simple lunch order and only one table in the restaurant. Not sure I ll go back.

Super food, great service. This is a smokehouse but also offers several vegetarian items including smoked jackfruit. Everything we had was amazing from the smoked meats to the tomato jam. Recommend if you are hungry, or if you are a bourbon lover. Also they had 3 different desserts that all featured peanut butter and chocolate.... I would go back.

A little hidden gem in Owen Sound. First understand that it fills up fast. No, you will probably not get a walk-in seat on the night of a Attack game. Make a rezo!! Food is amazing dont sleep on the sides they are fantastic as well. Good drink selection of local vendors. Staff are friendly and helpful. Go get some meat!

The food here is delicious!! Our first time eating from here and we got a few things to try- the applewood smoked wings, the brisket poutine, the pulled pork sandwich as well as the peanut butter pie and cookies and cream cake. Every thing we ate was amazing, the main dishes were smoky and savoury but well balanced with sweetness and the right amount of acidity. A super cute surprise came with our order as we were sent three free chocolate chip cookies - a very sweet and thoughtful addition and they tasted great. We would definitely recommend and we will be return customers! Our new favourite place!

Will not eat there again! Chicken wings were dry. The garlic bread and cheese were hard as a brick, the only good part was in the middle that was somewhat edible. The only reason I ended up ordering the garlic bread being instead of the vegies, I had asked for just a little bun instead. I was told no, I could buy the cheese bread for $11.99. Went to pay, my bill came to $23.00. Handed her 30.00 and she actually asked me if I would like my change. Your kidding!! $7.00 Tip. You don t ask if I want my change. You say, I will be right back with your change and let me decide if I tell you I don t want my change. I felt like she put me on the spot for how much her tip should be. Really not impressed with the food or service.

Breakfast now you say? Yes please! I love a non classic breakfast. I got the chorizo breakfast tacos, I believe there was 5 options of tacos. Each served with fresh cut fruit salad and choice of adding home fries. I enjoyed this and look forward to trying the other breakfast taco options. There was many other options as well. The service was good, and prompt, the order was accurate and tastey and the price was fair for what you get vs others breakfast at about $10-12 even for fast food yuck. Parking: 6-8 out front, more space around Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is level with the driveway

Hard to believe these are the same owners of the once loved Bean Cellar. I dont see any remnants of it in their new joint. But the service was great, food was brought out fast and it was delicious. Didnt give 5 stars because I was expecting a similar vibe to the bean cellar....I miss it so much! BUT its a great spot none the less.

We went to The Yard this weekend. Im a vegetarian with some dietary restrictions, so I ordered the Beet Based Vegetarian Burger. Surprisingly, it was full of black beans and corn, which I dont usually eat, so one of my sons ate a lot of it. I asked the waitress if it really was BEET based. She laughed and said: No, that was my fault. The menu should have said BEAN based! She wasnt apologetic, even when I told her I wouldnt have ordered that if I had known. She is also the manager, so Im amazed I wasnt told about the error when I ordered, also that there was no apology or offer of reimbursement. Sorry Tina, even though Ive been to The Yard 4 or 5 times, I wont be back and I definitely wont recommend it to my friends. Word of mouth is powerful advertising.

We had such a fantastic lunch delivered! The dilly potato salad is as cute and tasty as it sounds! Both sandwiches were delicious and perfectly portioned. We were even sent complimentary cookies - unexpected but SO delicious! This was our first time ordering from the Yard and I look forward to visiting in person one day soon to try another tasty menu item. Thank you!

Had pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese. Sandwich was excellent, server was very nice and friendly, only thing I didnt like was the Mac and cheese . Tasted like cardboard with cheese dropped on top.

Had the peameal bacon burger(was the special for the day) Delicious. And the Mac and cheese as a side was really good.

Some of the best burgers Ive had. And the Pretzel was so big and delicious. The service was great. Would definitely recommend trying this place out.

My family was able to to find delightful options that suited everyone s preferences perfectly. Fantastic execution of seasoning, preparation and portion size. Cocktails are the right kind of strong without being too sweet or overbearing. Service is excellent, friendly and knows when to give quiet and space. A wonderful surprise. Will be returning often!

Really nicely designed restaurant, industrial yet cozy feeling. Had a smoked meat sandwich that was delicious, but could have used a bit more meat, the rye bread was fantastic and perfectly toasted, came with a delicious side of dill potato salad.

Really tasty food, decent portions for the price paid. Service was very professional and friendly. Patio is dog friendly. We appreciated the fact our server was able to accommodate us and our dog at their patio, cleaning the table after a thunderstorm. Parking: Restaurant has a small parking lot next to the patio but there is ample free street parking too.

My co-worker and I were in Owen Sound for work and decided to try The Yard for lunch. So glad we did! The food was delicious and the service was top notch. We found our favourite place to eat in Owen Sound. Well see you again on our next business trip.

Had the Egg Benny with beef brisket and it was very good

My first time at the yard and I had the deluxe burger. We had great service, the atmosphere was perfect for a BBQ restaurant and the food was very good. The only part that surprised me is I asked for mayo for my burger and they advised it was an additional charge. I found that the charge of $1 for a basic condiment was a bit much. Other than that, great experience

Beautiful little bistro we arrived 10 minutes before closing and the waitress welcomed us with a smile and happy to serve us.

Its ok, not great. Beef brisket was tender but I didnt get any smoke flavor. With the horseradish mayo, it further masks the flavor. I didnt like that they dont have fries but home fries. My friend got home fries, and he didnt care for them. On the pricey side - for a sandwich and side pushing $20. I left still very hungry. Took a while to get served and get our food. It looked like only one server was working when we first came in. I wouldve also preferred if there were platter options, i.e. BBQ not on sandwiches. I think more ppl would come for a real BBQ joint experience. I wont be back any time soon.

My husband and I tried the Thanksgiving take-out meal! Oh my goodness perfection Turkey was tender, potatoes creamy, squash, turnip, carrots a perfect blend and done nicely. The dressing and whole meal was smothered in gravy totally delicious, as well as a tasty roll. (Reminded us of our mothers dinners) To top off the explosion of favours-/ pecan pie need I say more Parking: Easy parking into and out of the Yard

Had dinner and drinks with co-workers on Friday, and our server, Eva, was incredible. Hands down, the most professional service I ve experienced in Owen Sound. She was super fun, knowledgeable, and also told us about other weekly specials that got us excited to come back again. The food was all really good, but the wings were amazing! I loved the amount of little crudités that came on the side and the fact that it included pickles was such a nice touch! The atmosphere is open, but also cozy, and the music was a nice volume so we didnt have to shout. Beer selection is solid and the classic cocktails are done right! Great experience. I will be back!

I ordered the brisket sandwich on ciabatta bun and grill cheese today. The grill cheese was the best grill cheese I have ever had my boyfriend agreed, and the brisket sandwich was delicious with a fresh bun. I recommend!!

Very disappointed, however the home fries were the star of our meal. Wings were small with very little sauce, pulled pork was dry and tasted like chicken. Burgers were not homemade. The quality of the food was mediocre compared to the price we paid. The menu had so much promise, but failed to deliver! :(

Honestly disappointed but service was good. Payed almost $25 for nachos that looked like cafeteria food. Probably $4 worth of ingredients- not enough cheese, bottom of the bag chips, and for that amount of money I got no meat. Then they brought the sandwich which was mostly bun with a side of meat. I know meats expensive and all but I paid ~$70+tip for two mains, one drink and a slice of cake and I gotta get snacks for the lady because shes hungry now. Just not enough food for the price. Yeah yeah, inflation, stuffs expensive, but other restaurants dont charge like that. I grew up in a restaurant so I get it but this is low value no matter how ya slice it. I guess I paid for the view

Service was amazing, I m a big picky and the server was patient and answered all my questions. I had the beef brisket poutine and it was amazing. My family had the pulled pork sandwich and the beef brisket horse radish sandwich that I grabbed a taste of and was also very very good. The wings were pretty huge but I had no chance to taste it. I also tasted the Caesar salad that was also very yummy. I would go again.

Great service and friendly

I decided to stop by for a late lunch today. The restaurant was moderately busy, but I was immediately greeted by the staff and told I could pick any available seat. Fajitas were the daily special, so I ordered that. Three stuffed fajitas arrived shortly ate my table. A lime wedge and sour cream were served in the side. I should have asked for hot sauce as that is the only thing that would have improved my experience. Next time. I m happy to recommend this meal and this restaurant.

Just amazing food. I had the deluxe burger, my dining partner had the brisket sandwich. We were both very pleased and well-fed. Not crazy undo-your-pants sized portions, but a full meal of very high quality food. And affordable enough that I didnt mind getting dessert (pecan pie, and it was glorious). Staff were great, food was brought out quickly, and the decor is quite nice. In short, eat here! Vegetarian options: Its a BBQ joint, but they have a jackfruit option which I believe would be suitable for vegans (double-check before ordering but from the description on the menu it looks vegan). Parking: Parking seemed plentiful for the size.

Nice place with good staff. Food was good. But the place is very overpriced and not in a good location.

Have visited twice, really do recommend! Food was tasty and service was great. Will be back to try some more menu items for sure.

Excellent place for lunch or dinner. Great flavors and variety on the menu. Love the smoked brisket on brioche. I really like they give a bun option (brioche or ciabatta). Service was excellent as well. Definitely recommnend it.

Vegetarian options: The menu separate vegetables and meat, simply choose what you want. Parking: A lot of parking space.

This place was really good, food was fantastic. Service was friendly and helpful. The meat is all good but the beans were very surprising and very good. Check it out great spot.

Went here for a late lunch during a trip up to Owen Sound all the way from Mississauga and was not disappointed. The food and the atmosphere was amazing and not to mention the coolest and nicest server ever. I would recommend this place if you are ever in or around Owen Sound.

This place is great. The food was absolutely unreal, such good bar food, and the 2 girls that greeted me at the front were great. And they gave me a free cookie:) I think this is my new lunch spot. Vegetarian options: Pretty good

We stopped in at the yard on the way home. We ate the mushroom melt burger. The food was excellent and there was a wide variety of beers on the menu and the establishment was clean and friendly.

If you like good BBQ and grill this is a great place to try. Food was fantastic! Tried the Cabbage roll soup on the recommendation of the server when I asked what was a MUST try. It was definitely an odd choice put it was unbelievable! If youre in the area this is a must stop on your itinerary!

The pretzel is a must-try. But everything we had (brisket sandwich, veggie beet burger) was just delicious. Our Server was knowledgeable and friendly, and made us feel welcome.

Not impressed no meat in the poutine and very costly for what you get :((((

Eat here at your own risk. There are lots of struggling restaurants in this town that work hard to build a loyal customer base. This isnt one of them. I hosted a birthday dinner party recently and ordered five meals from The Yard through Skip the Dishes. Only three meals were delivered due to an error on the restaurants part. They told me I had to cancel the missing items and re-submit through Skip the Dishes. Obviously you cant cancel an order that has already been delivered. Meanwhile, the delivered meals were getting cold and my dinner guests were getting hungry. The restaurant refused to send the missing meals over to us through some other means (i.e.: cab). Instead they said I would get a refund. I didnt. I got a credit. We ended up sharing three cold meals among the five of us because of The Yards refusal to make good for their mistake. This speaks to their management style and the value they place on customer satisfaction. They had the opportunity to do better and maintain a loyal customer. They chose not to.

Ordered takeout, was the best pretzel I ve had in a long time, highly recommend The Yard!

This place is FANTASTIC! The Yard did our staff Christmas Dinner and took care of everything from appetizers to the desserts. The smoked chicken, brisket, potatoes, veggies... everything was absolutely perfect. Taste was amazing, it was fresh, hot and everything was perfectly on-time. I cant say enough about how awesome the service was and how great the food was. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend The Yard to anyone looking for high quality food and great service.

Took covid protocols serious, which I appreciated. Service was good, food was just ok. Was expecting more of a traditional smoke pit bbq flavour and didn t get it. Will try it again maybe in the summer.
