13 Rue d'Amsterdam, 75008 Paris, France
The third busiest mainline station in Paris in a very impressive, grandiose building. Plenty of outlets to browse whilst waiting for a train.
Convenient train from Paris to the Normandy area, specifically Bayeux. Clean station. Slightly confusing for us Americans so give yourself enough time to get here and navigate to your platform. We did purchase our tickets ahead of time. There was an information booth that my husband checked with and we were on the opposite end of the platforms from where our train would be departing from. The boards are clear and what everyone relies on, like NY Penn Station. Relatively clean station. Returned from Bayeux to this station and it was easy to navigate out of the station.
Beautiful gare Saint Lazare ❤ you will find just outside the gare a classic art work of stacked clocks on one side and then the hilton opera paris Hotel on the other side. The street around is very busy and lot of options to hang out with friends and family. Nice restaurants and coffee shops. Do check out a food passage just a few steps from this station. Also to the right or diagonally front and opposite to macdonalas you will find a nice commercial shopping centre which is also worth visiting. 😉
Used it a lot to commute between Becon Les Bruyeres/Asnieres and Paris. Good trains frequency (every few minutes) with modern trains as well. Navigating in Saint Lazare to the other RER and Metro lines was at first perhaps challenging, but quickly enough I got to understand the logic and it became easy.
It can be overwhelming if this is your first time here. However there are many courteous staff in purple vest who will help you navigate. From metro, you have to go up three escalators to get to the bullet/fast trains. The square colored box, next to each itinerary on the itinerary screen monitor, indicates what ranges/platform of the train station unit you will be getting on. The announced numbered station usually isn’t available at least 20 minutes prior to departure in my experience. I just see a square box telling me what platform to wait at then a number will appear on the square box when the train is ready for passengers to load.
Honestly, coming from the Philippines, the Paris Saint Lazare station was a breath of fresh air. There were a lot of options for quick food, convenience stores, pharmacies, and even a Starbucks for those who need iced coffee. The train conductors were helpful and it was well managed (though it helps that we went during the height of the Paris Olympics so there were lots of people around to help tourists navigate the trains.)
Very well maintained, neat and clean station. The lobby area is huge, with high chairs and charging ports for mobile and laptops.
I recently traveled through Saint-Lazare train station in Paris and here's what I found. The trains run right on schedule, which is great. However, there are some things that need improvement. On Sundays (I have no experience on otherdays), the station closes from midnight until 4:30 a.m. If you miss your train, you'll be stuck outside in the freezing cold. This is a big deal because Saint-Lazare is one of the main train stations in Paris. It's a head-scratcher why they don't let people with morning tickets stay inside. Paying 1 Euro to use the restroom (WC) seems a bit steep, and the staff in charge of them could use some lessons in politeness. Also, it's a real hassle that there are no restrooms in the underground metro stations, including Saint-Lazare. Customer service counters close early, around 9:00 pm. If you need help after that, you're out of luck. So, if you're planning to use this station, make sure to plan ahead and get your tickets sorted before you arrive. While Saint-Lazare is great with keeping time, there are some things that could make the experience much better.
Magnificent station in the heart of Paris and close to Haussmann Metro RER Bus train all in one place The place is very spacious with top cleanliness for a station The station staff are really great and give good directions The WCs are chargeable (1 ) but frankly the cleanliness is excellent, agents are in the WCs to disinfect after each visit and clean the sinks as well. Really perfect
Paid toilets If you dont have 1 euro then go elsewhere, theres nothing to be had! Scandalous for a management agency responsible for a public service Moreover, the paid gates with 1 security guard are not advertised This is certainly the Olympic effect!
Very beautiful facade for this Parisian station with a rather nice shopping arcade.
My personal hellhole . Hated every commute there. Great Sephora though.
Violence against homeless people (slap) Coming from a firefighter in uniform, from Saint Lazare station. A shame
Rather clean and lots of varied shops
The train station should improve its customer service. Some of you dont even know respect and its a shame for the company.
Not enough seating space
Very nice station, it is just a shame that the controllers were all beaten by their parents when they were young that it is necessary to externalize this by attacking people with fines. I think that these fines should in the future be used to finance therapies for these tortured souls which would allow them to return to these traumatic events in their poor lives so that it does not spread this scourge. Hoping that my proposal will be listened to because it is for the good of people who are sick or sick in their heads and in their skin, I sympathize with these shadows of the stations
Bardella eye to eye before your next destination? To prevent this from happening, please protest to F B, the director of national campaigns, via the Media Transports form, to remind us that planning to promote your new book means failing in your obligation of neutrality!
Large Parisian station, quite clean and rather well frequented with a beautiful shopping arcade and the traditional brasseries outside
Awesome station, clean and clearly marked! The stores are diverse and easy to browse and buy!
Very nice station. Signs clearly visible. We cannot go astray. All connections are well indicated
You get injured when passing your Navigo pass over the terminals: dangerous terminals for your hands!
The unique experience of the Saint Lazare station toilets where you pay 1 to pee :)
Quite difficult to access on foot or by bike. Of course, there is no question of coming there by car.
It is a symbolic place for me. It is through this station that the link is made between my suburb, Argenteuil and the city of lights Paris. This station is teeming with people who come from the northern suburbs and also from Normandy. I have a particular affection for this station, it is part of my history.
All ticket terminals are not working.
The service was so bad, I recommend you bolt better. DONT USE THE TRAIN, they are mean and it smells bad.
To get my train tickets I came across a kind young person, its a shame we dont find many of them
Shops, shops and more shops
There is no staff to give information
Amazing
The Île de France Mobilité agency located in front of the platforms is really great and its staff is super welcoming. If you need any information, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you very much Rachid, thanks to you I learned a lot of things and got the answer I was looking for
Lots of problems. It is necessary to provide a sufficient quantity of comfortable waiting chairs. Large, clear boards with train times. Bathroom. Lots of shops, pianos and photo booths - its very good. Its good that the station is clean. But the station has other priorities
CLOSE TO WHERE I HAD BOOKED AN APART HOTEL. YOU MAY GO EVERYWHERE OUTSIDE PARIS. A LOVELY EXPERIENCE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PARIS SAINT-LAZARE GARE
Ticket exchange with modifiable option more expensive than purchasing a said ticket. Nothing more to say
SCAM!!! I took a TER ticket on the app, valid for one day, but because of a 3 promotion I was fined as if I was without a ticket. And they wont reimburse me for the existing ticket. The equivalent of 2 weeks of shopping left, being without income thanks to the SNCF.
Usually only good experiences in this agency (I have been going there for 1 year to get specific tickets), this day I came across a saleswoman who greeted me at the entrance and who was unpleasant. However, I had done my best to make life easier for the agency: making an appointment. However, she told me that because I was late (13 minutes due to the blocked metro), she was making an exceptional effort . Should we instead make 2 appointments and block a user who really needs it? I hope next time will be more pleasant, especially when we users do everything to make life easier for employees.
Top station, I have never had a problem in this station, moreover the shopping gallery in the station and that of the Passage du Havre is very complete with a good selection of shops, I recommend this station, which unlike many Parisian train station is not that bad-famous.
The train seats are too small, we cant stretch our legs to go to Trouville
I come here quite often to take a train, the premises are as clean as possible, the sound announcements are difficult to hear: the microphones hiss and crackle. There are always human presence on the platforms to help. Like everywhere, unfortunately, many homeless people.
In the RER E station, no Bouygues Telecom network
too practical
Lots of shops, well-organized station, lack of seats to wait outside restaurants/cafes but otherwise nothing to say.
I took a photo with the same composition as a famous painting
Was nearly mugged by 3 guys, at this Metro train station thank God that my wife shouted that caused the 3 jokers to be afraid and they ran away!!!
The station is clean. The woods are well indicated The staff is attentive
The transfer between the subway and SNCF is a bit far. Depending on the route, it would be best to wait for 10-15 minutes. There are many shops outside the ticket gate both underground and above ground. The departure number will be displayed on the monitor approximately 10-3 minutes before the scheduled departure time, so we recommend that you first look for the arrival station name in front of the monitor. Of course, they are in alphabetical order, so you can easily find them.
Very efficient and secure
Unacceptable: just now on line 13 heading north between 2 trains an agent in an orange vest PLACED HIS BACK against the wall between 2 trains and a boss arrived and snapped his fingers to tell him to get up. We went to confront this boss and he told us that it didnt matter because the employees stay on the platform for 2 hours. - The labor code provides that workers have a seat available. - it does not provide for addressing an employee in a disrespectful manner. I am waiting for action on my report.
It was a mix of everything: fear, fun and joy. Just follow the signs where they are written in French, English and Spanish. There are booths to buy tickets and self-service desks to buy tickets yourself. Its beautiful, clean, and huge. I simply loved it. be here.
Everything ok but the toilets should be open until the station completely closes
Ras.
Saint-Lazare station is home to a varied shopping center with fashion boutiques like H&M and Zara, cosmetics stores like Sephora, as well as bookstores and newsstands. Many fast food options are available, including Starbucks, McDonalds, Paul, and Prêt-à-Manger, as well as artisan bakeries, offering plenty of variety for all tastes. Train times are clearly displayed on electronic screens throughout the station. The SNCF application and interactive terminals also make it easier to consult timetables in real time. Saint-Lazare Station is well-equipped with varied stores, plenty of fast food options and clearly displayed train timetables, providing a pleasant experience for travelers.
Nice station with a small shopping center and nice shops
From Paris to the suburbs
Intermodal Public Transportation Station, on a Metropolitan and Country scale. With main levels to which those of the metro are added. It has a commercial center with a diverse tennanmix, fashion, retail, gastronomic. For the Olympics, it has a wide service of information operators in all languages.
Beautiful station
Gare Saint-Lazare is a commuter train station, 5 metro lines and several bus lines. Within a few or a dozen or so minutes you will reach suburban towns in comfortable conditions, because the trains are modern, clean and colorful. A beautiful historic building (see: outside) has been renovated inside. There are many boutiques and restaurants on three levels. A friendly and functional place on the map of Paris,
Impressive and beautiful Paris station. Its 3 floors of commerce and services are very well integrated. On the outskirts, it has large spaces, in which a couple of very creative sculptural interventions stand out, in direct relation to the transfer and time.
Very beautiful station, easily accessible by line 14 in particular. Convenient for getting to Normandy. Its easy to relax in a café or McDonalds while waiting for your train.
Very difficult to find your way around to buy a simple commuter ticket... poor reception, incompetent staff.
Transit station
Gare Saint-Lazare is the oldest station in Paris, with historic architecture that has been renovated to integrate a modern shopping center at the heart of its spaces. Travelers will appreciate the wide variety of shops, restaurants and services available, which make it a pleasant station to live in and visit. The proximity of the department stores on Boulevard Haussmann and the Opéra Garnier also makes it a strategic point for shopping and cultural visits. Saint-Lazare is a dynamic and well-connected station, ideal for journeys to Normandy and the west of Paris.
A beautiful station. Very practical. There are a variety of businesses on several levels. The square allows you to get some fresh air if necessary and if you have a little time, the nearby surroundings are also full of shops. The metro there also allows you to go almost everywhere in Paris. An unmissable and historic place in Paris.
Today at 5:05 p.m., a particularly unpleasant controller showed himself ready to fine travelers with a monthly pass, simply because the gates were malfunctioning. His practice seems recurrent, and without any remorse on his part, quite the contrary. This is nothing less than theft on the part of the SNCF, which is nevertheless responsible for its employees. The controller in question, to justify his fine, suggested going to see the SNCF staff in the cabin in the event of a problem with the gantries. However, THIS ADVICE IS USELESS, the gantries should never malfunction (according to this haughty controller, this would happen in 4% of cases), and the cabin crew ARE NOT ABLE to provide help, as I I have experienced this several times. He has NO RIGHT to let people pass even if we have 1 paid monthly pass!!!! It is unacceptable to leave workers in difficulty like this and to threaten them even though they have paid their subscription. The SNCF should treat daily users with the same respect as Olympic tourists... I pay for a reliable service, not to be threatened by an agent inflated with ego who, in addition, threatens to fine when we try to explain to him that the gates close before we pass and that the Mr SNCF cannot do anything . It is urgent to review the operation of gantries which are not 100% operational and applications to avoid these incidents which occur too frequently, regardless of the device used having tried several.
Renovated station which could satisfy travelers, but on August 20, many travelers had to sit on the ground for lack of seats to wait for their train. I had to do the same at the age of 76, its a bit shameful dont you think?
Zero stars for the toilets. This morning, 2 out of ten cabins open, 15 minutes of waiting (8 people in line). When asked to open other offices, the supervisor raises her voice with her discontent and curses.
Very attractive station. Huge...Significant flow. Lots of shops.
Good place
Its a scandal! I wanted to take a train to Vladivostok, agents beat me in an underground station. I had to return to my niche dressed as a Trappist monk, under the hateful gaze of blind travelers. I do not recommend!
Super awesome
1h30 wait to recharge a Navigo pass! Unacceptable...but nothing surprises me anymore on the part of the SNCF...the only positive point is the agent with a hat named Thomas, very nice and attentive
It would be pointless to give an extensive opinion when everything can be summed up like this: this station, on the rue de Rome side, smells of urea, piss, urine, ammonia. Its filthy and getting close to this disreputable place is a daily challenge. I manage to take line 3 further up, to Europe, to avoid gagging.
Nice place where I come to see the trains and its beautiful shopping mall.
Good metro/train access, its easy to get lost however and when a train breaks down, theres panic to find another replacement.
Good, clean station with many services. The station has several shops and places to eat
A beautiful shopping center surrounds this magnificent station.
Beautiful station
More than a station, and like many other stations, the place has completely transformed into a shopping center with a somewhat chic and rather expensive side. Numerous proposals, more financially accessible, on the catering side. Free toilets for all Navigo pass holders (its indicated quite discreetly but it works) otherwise its 1 . The place is clean, many escalators and elevators facilitate circulation and the signage is quite clear but you have to stay focused.
I am only a traveler but the atmosphere is not to my taste it is starting to resemble a quick passage for years it is becoming rotten sorry for these words thank you
I regret that we cannot pay by credit card on the machines (I should point out that I do not have contactless). Rejected twice on your limited devices, falling back to human counters becomes an additional hassle of waiting. Security personnel and others around but with two expected tellers, each one closes their teller in turn around 2 p.m....a queue of around fifteen people which says a lot about the limits of your machines. An SNCF agent (is that his job?) comes slowly to let people pass....were hallucinating! At the reception where we dont sell tickets, a young woman, paid I dont know what to do, ostensibly reads a book behind her glass cage. Things to improve don t you think???
a little messy
Beautiful station with small shopping arcade. Very poorly indicated at the metro exit.
The new porticos are unbearable. Its super annoying to scan the codes. It has become restrictive to move on the platforms for our trains which are sometimes not even displayed so without the app it quickly becomes distressing. In short, it aims to limit fraud but it annoys us more than anything else. And again, I didnt talk about the pay toilets.
The QR code scanner to get to the gate was incredibly annoying and wouldn t scan, we ended up missing our train because of it and had to get help from someone else scanning their ticket and just run through the doors while they were still open. And because we missed our train we had to exit the gate and we had to scan our tickets AGAIN (which still didn t work) just to get out?? Even with the new physical tickets we got from the helpful Nomad desk one of our tickets still didn t scan and we needed help from a train attendant. I would give the station the benefit of the doubt and say the problem was on us, but i noticed numerous other people, even locals, who also struggled scanning their tickets. Super frustrating experience for an otherwise decent train station (Aside from the 1 toilets) I d recommend coming earlier had I known the ticket scanner would be so hit or miss.
Very good display, lots of shops and top cleanliness
Passenger station train lines and metro station
Nice big station compilcate navigation to correct train.
Train station and shopping arcade carefully and very practical
Always problems And above all absolutely no communication I can hear that on so many trains there are hazards but no excuse for not informing people and respecting users as little as possible.
Beautiful architecture, I like it
A modern and innovative station. There has been a lot of improvement with an accessible and very approachable team. Well done
I am disabled and every other time the escalators at the main entrance are regularly broken down, you have to reach the shopping mall to reach the track level and once you have passed the gate and you discover that your train leaves in 14 minutes and that you have difficulty standing up and well you still have the walls because there are no seats except on the tracks and you can no longer see which platform yours is leaving from. Well done for welcoming the disabled!!!
Paying 1 to go to the toilet, its no surprise that people go to relieve themselves around the station. That toilets are chargeable is a fact but not at this price.
Nice shopping center with shops of all kinds and also serving as a station . Update: presence of paid toilets. No luggage drop off..... as for seats if you find one (by a miracle) take it because what is rare is precious ....
French stations generate more than 1 billion euros for the SNCF company, and when you pass through Gare Saint Lazare you dont smell the money for the users, only the smell of urine on the stairs.
Gare Saint-Lazare is located in the 8th arrondissement in Paris. From there you can walk to the Opera house, La Madeline and many more wonderful Parisian places. The intercity TER to Normandy departs from here.
Watch out for your tickets!!!! I was already used to the tickets not passing through platforms J and L, it doesnt work so much that the agents at the station dont even look at the tickets anymore because they are so used to it, but at least, as a user, we realize it. But this evening I took the metro (ratp) with my Navigo easy card and I looked at my balance: 9. Except that I go through the RER E (sncf) exit to go to work, which puts me through by 2 barriers. Im still in the Haussmann Saint Lazare Auber pole, but at the exit I have 7 tickets left, as there is no SNCF agent and the intercoms are broken, I had to go back in the other direction (remainder: 6) but fortunately there are staff at the ratp counter, the agent who checked my card saw where I entered with the balances, but was very surprised to see the unjustified discrepancy and did what was necessary. QED: Long live the cardboard ticket!
Always too many people
Beautiful station, well animated by well-known brands, and after a stroll which deserves easier signage, the toilets are very well managed and clean, 1 which remains expensive
Beautiful well organized station
Lots of shops Open from 7:30 a.m. on weekdays
Shameful 1 euro for access to the toilets!
It always stinks there like in dirty toilets. It would be nice to rinse it once a year, wouldnt it?
Frankly, access to the toilets at the end of the station (towards track 27) for 1 through the service provider 2theloo is a bit excessive. Its very modern and quite clean but a bit expensive.
Large station, very clean, the directions are clear and the choice of shops is substantial.
Not easy to find taxis Poorly signposted outside the station
This station is well modernized
On Wednesday April 10, 2024, I came to Sephora in Saint Lazare and I was taken care of by Vicky! She gave me very good advice and gave me lots of samples and was very kind, very friendly and super smiling! go see her, she s great!!! Shes there on Wednesdays and Thursdays!
Transport connection station with overpriced shopping prices and no place to sit.
I mainly pass through this station to take commuter trains. It is especially during off-peak times that we realize the poverty of services at this station. It s simple, no seats, nothing planned when you re waiting for a train for 15 minutes when you re pregnant! It s a slap in the face!
Than passing by metro
Always problems with transport! 4 times in 1 week! 0 information! 40 minutes! 0 security services 0 solutions!
A station with shops
Nice with all its stores
Saint Lazare will be the northern station in 2 years maximum
Station with a good shopping center. However, the sanitary facilities leave something to be desired and are poorly located. The possibility of finding places to sit is close to zero 0 .
Large station and well served by other transport lines.
Poorly indicated
I adore
Its a big station, you have to follow the directions carefully so as not to get lost.... But everything is there..... Café, toilets, shops
It is very pretty but you have to be very careful with theft.
Many attractive shops.
Own. Number of staff
Station like any other
Magnificent station, completely restored with its original glass roof, more than 60 stores inside. Its worth taking a look.
Good
RER L, J. Metro M3, M12, M13, M14
Excellent
Hub between metro, train and RER. Always a lot of people
Station always clean, lots of shops. But as in all stations, timetables in certain cities are not respected
Lots of connections. Some improvements need to be made regarding cleanliness.
Paying 1 to use the bathroom is a SHAME!! Very big and poorly organized!! Avoid cafes without bathrooms
Stink, stampede even when there are few people, dirty, inaudible announcements, trains systematically late
Too many people and too many delays, its hellish.
Lack of benches to sit on and heating!!!!!
Station beautiful and clean except that there is a lack of seats (I waited 30 minutes standing), the information screens for the Transilien are very incomprehensible (Displays the departure of trains from a station instead of timetables, destination and line ). There are no toilets (especially if you come from Mantes-la-Jolie). The station is noisy, I have headaches at the end of the day... There is no bench on my platform (Line J towards Mantes via Poissy), but I wait in a seated place on the train (this that it is not a problem)
Not a bench, not a chair, the staff is as friendly as a mad dog!!! 9:30 p.m. impossible to eat anything Welcome to the third world And then the SNCF wants to conquer the world!?? That it already takes care of its domestic market correctly...
Toilets pay one euro, its a shame, now Im getting on a train. I go to his bathroom and come out.
For me, the most beautiful station in Paris. A grandiose room of lost steps. A beautiful shopping mall and a successful renovation.
shut up Guillaume
Line J null. Train removed. No information. Its a shame
The largest transfer station in Paris and lots of shops
Beautiful station, too few billboards for the main lines,
Welcoming and well renovated
A mythical and very touristy place! One of the oldest stations in Paris, even the oldest. You will find plenty of shops on 2 floors, restaurants, cafes, fast food, currency exchange and paid toilets!
Super convenient station to go skiing at the start of the film.
One of the oldest stations in Paris. A historic station, but it has no toilets...
Its been several weeks that every time I arrive at St Lazare station by the Transilien, my tickets do not go through the machines to leave the Transilien zone and then take the metro. My tickets are obviously valid for the route I am taking. A lady at the counter has just confirmed to me that there is a problem, with SNCF she told me. When do you plan to resolve this problem which affects a lot of people? Each time, I find myself at the counter with people who have the same problem.
This is one of the better stations in Paris. Its very well kept and not as crowded. Tons of shops and it is safe with lots of police officers.
Nice
A good traffic structure...
Notice to the teller presented Tuesday evening with a large clump of hair. Dear boss of the SNCF, I would like to draw your attention to this young lady who insulted me laughing in my face because I obviously disturbed her in the middle of a romantic discussion with a colleague. This kind of person does not have a catastrophic image of the SNCF. Dear young lady who was present at the ticket office just before the porticos on the first platform side, did you have an education? How can you have this behavior. I was outraged and very shocked. I hope you will be able to reframe her and teach her the basics of relationships
Station full of gantries difficult to get around I will return there in the spring
