Didn’t actually get to taste the food. But we did meet Cat, the owner. She apologized profusely, as the hot food wasn’t open today. Cat was understaffed and her priority was cooking Thanksgiving meals for the community. Next time I’m in the Pembroke area; I’ll try the food. With that being said, it had a beautiful Jamaican Jerk fragrance in the store. Five stars, because Cat was super friendly and her priority is her community.
This was the first time I had ever been here, I was greeted by a wonderful person who was so friendly she made me feel like we long lost friends. She explained the menu for the day and helped me decide by asking me questions about flavors and portion sizes. While I sat and waited for my order, I watched and listened to the owner interact with her staff in the kitchen. She was so considerate, patient and understanding with them. They were two young men learning the trade and she was sooo good with them, showing them how to do things and explaining why it is done that way. I will be going back. OH and the food was absolutely amazing!!!!!
Me and my girlfriend loved our date here, with a cozy atmosphere and a staff with warm attitudes and full of smiles it was a wonderful change of pace, and the food was satisfying and tasted great! (I had a half Mac and cheese and a hotdog and my girlfriend had a chili dog and a rootbeer float), at first, we were hesitant of the quality due to the portion sizes but we both were surprised with how filling and delicious it was!
First time in and definitely not the last. Never been in before but I saw the mac special and I was hungry so I decided today I would try it. Went through the doors and was hit with a medley of amazing scents, a bright homey atmosphere, and a friendly smile. Had a great chat with the owner, definitely the type to love a good conversation and especially when it's about food. I was also very surprised by how everything is tax included, and the prices themselves are already a huge value for what you get. It's not at all an easy price point to work with but as long as the food stays consistent, I hope they get the traffic needed to keep afloat in our over-inflated economy. I took my food home with me, so I can't say about dine-in experience but I can't see it would differ from the time I was there waiting for my order talking to the owner, which was a lovely time. The hot dog was quite good, but the Mac and Cheese was amazing. Very creamy, very light going down, and excellent taste. Definitely recommend getting one of the small bottles of hot sauce and putting a drizzle over the Mac and Cheese. Will be back again soon enough.
This is the spot for really good food, made with real ingredients. The owners put their heart and soul into every serving. Prices are right - great value for what you get. We have done take out but also had our dinner on their sweet patio out front. Love it here.
Finally got to try this restaurant, my husband & I both ordered the turkey sandwich with a Mac & cheese to split just as take out as we had a bad day & weren’t feeling well. Catherine & Denis were super friendly & welcoming, asking if I had been there before & where I had heard about them. The food was made up quickly, the price was very reasonable for what we got (before the recent price decreases) & the sandwiches were so delicious! Can’t wait to try more menu items as they change, it was a bright spot on an otherwise gloomy day.
The best jerk chicken I had so far. Went there after seeing all the good reviews and it didn't disappoint me. Good service , though had frozen , the food still feels fresh and authentic.
Food was delicious and was prepared with care. Service was top notch. My son and I enjoyed the meal immensely. The window decor was nicely done for spring. Hoping next time to try the pulled pork. Glad to have this good food option in our neighbourhood.
Picked up some chilli from the fridge, heated up in no time and let me tell you delicious!

Have had a few things from here the mac and cheese is great, had the poutine and because they lean more to the healthy side the fries are not deep fried so that was a bit of a disappointment, today I had the jerk chicken sandwich and let me tell that was the most delicious jerk chicken I have ever had, and Ive had actual Caribbean jerk. If I could suggest one thing that would be to add more spice, but I definitely would recommend this restaurant the food is delicious the staff are fantastic and very welcoming, will most definitely be returning, thanks Catherine and staff.
Absolutely delicious! Jerk chicken and Mac and cheese were best ever. Wonderful service. Everything was hot, fresh and satisfyingly home made.
The staff are absolutely lovely! Friendly, kind, sincere, and genuine. The atmosphere is welcoming, calming, and smells delicious. Also, the prices cant be beat! Absolutely my favorite place in the valley!

I was passing through and happened upon this spot. The food was very good and the conversation with the owner was too! I had the jerk chicken Mac and would definitely recommend. Save room for some ice cream too!

Amazing fresh food, with great owners.
Very much unsatisfied with the lack of cleanliness of service, especially when you first make an entrance into the business, it clearly shows lack of care, and responsibility from the management. The service wasn t provided well at all, I waited 5 minutes for somebody to even come to the register and take my order and after my order had been taken I waited another 10-15 minutes for my one pulled pork sandwich to come out.
No selection when we ate here. Settled for pulled pork sandwich which was way overpriced no sides offered, I had pains in my stomach for three days (probably due to the amount of turmeric used). My son had the Mac and pork. Also way over priced for a couple scoops of Mac and left over pork. Environment was extremely unkept. Very bad lighting so we ate outside. The owner seemed agitated. It took over 20 minutes for the food to be ready and I found a vein in the sandwich, kinda sealed the deal. I wouldn t waist my money again. I wish I had seen the reviews before I chose to buy a meal here.
The food tasted ok but 2 scoops of Mac and cheese for $24 is Robbery and from what I could see the kitchen didn t look very clean. The inside and outside patio were inadequately small. That s just my opinion.
I ordered a pulled pork and bacon over mac! Was very good but not worth the price you pay for! Very dissapointed! So expensive for so little! But very good!
Had the generous portion of Mac n cheese with pulled pork on it and Cole slaw on top of that with a finish of two strips bacon. Ouch was full after eating half. An hour later finished it . Was 25 $ and could have been split between 2 people with small appetite. I would definitely hang curtains over the stock in the dining area. Lol Ill be back cause its real food n so tasty. Dan
First time trying FN good food and was definitely not disappointed. I ordered the jerk chicken with mac and cheese. Portion size was generous. Chicken was phenomenal, mac and cheese was on point. Service was fantastic, food was cooked to order which was easy to notice. Would recommend, definitely one of the better take out options in pembroke/petawawa.

We saw the post on Facebook about the umbrella fiasco and decided to support a local business with our hard earned money. We were treated very well and the food tasted very very good. A local gem, you will not be disappointed.
I just had the pleasure of eating their meatball sandwich and it was so good! The meatballs were the perfect consistency and the sauce was delish! Cant wait to try their other creations!
Honestly very disappointed with the food. I was told that the amount was large thus the price and it was quite the opposite. I ordered the pulled pork and was told that it was such a large amount that I most likely would have leftovers so my girlfriend and I decided to split it. Well it was the complete opposite it came on a regular hotdog bun the was cut in half with very little filling. Beside that it wasnt very good, quite dry.my nephew ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and it too was very bland you wouldnt think this considering the amount of spices they make and praise them selves on.
So let me preface this review with this fact, this place is newly open and will change and adapt. The food was very good proportion sizes left a little to be desired. While saying that the emphasis is on comfort food to not have a deep fryer is likely more of a logistics thing then something that fits into their style. For the price that they charged you should be getting more of a complete meal instead of just a sandwich. Maybe some macaroni and cheese some fully loaded potato salad, there are other options out there that dont need a deep fryer that would be classified as comfort food. After we finished our meal we had to go someplace else for another meal which is an issue... And were not really big eaters. I wish you guys all the best as you progress can find your footing.
Great food and super friendly people
Well lets start off with atmosphere. This place smells amazing. You walk by the front door and you want to go in. The interior is pretty cluttered with random stuff, even pantry items, just laying around to pick up and prod. I ordered the Jerk chicken sandwich, took about 10-15 minutes to prepare, with a bill of around 20$. Wow, 20$ this much be boasting some great flavors. The jerk sauce, was alright. The meat, was nicely shredded however there were cold spots. Then the bread... It was soggy and I ended up just throwing out the bun and just eating the meat. Overall impression. Great idea, but prices are too high for what your serving.
If you re looking for something that tastes like a warm hug, give this place a try. Wonderful local eatery with character, personality and a unique menu to match. Chefs clearly dedicated to their craft. My tummy was very happy after I ate here and the owner was very friendly! Can t wait til next time!! (:
The food is absolutely amazing, the owners are passionate about their work and it shows in the food. Absolutely stop by and get the pulled pork sandwhich if you are in downtown pembroke and are looking for good food.
You come for more than just the food. Denise and Kat treat you like family as soon as you walk through that door. The food is amazing, the people that run it are truly one of a kind and you ve made a lifelong customer even though I live 5,000 miles away.
Ordered the frozen jerk chicken and mac. The owner gave some excellent tips on how to heat it up in the microwave (add cream to the container). I was very surprised as to how juicy and the tender the chicken was once microwaved, and how delicious the jerk seasoning was. One day I will come back and try the freshly cooked version, as if the frozen version was this good, I can only imagine how good the freshly prepared version would be. Awesome food!

I stopped in while I was walking downtown. The owner Cat was so wonderful and warm, she took the time to talk about her business and her passion for her restaurant. Not to mention the pulled pork sandwich was a 12/10. Best sandwich I have ever had!! Can t wait to go back :)

Food was phenomenal, its great to see a new business with fantastic quality all made from scratch. Service was amazing as well, the staff and the owner were all very kind, patient and personable. Atmosphere is also great, really enjoyed the store and cannot wait to see how this young business continues in the future! Will definitely recommend and will come back again!
