Made a detour to eat here and they were closed at 5pm. Sucks

This is a great truck stop!! Service was fast and friendly and theres pretty much everything you could ask for on a road trip there. Better try one of the pies while youre there!! Kid-friendliness: They had high chairs with kids snack pre wrapped right in the trays ready to distract. Grumbling tot while you catch your breath from the chaos. Met up with an old high-school friend here which she recommended. We had so much to catch up on and the waitress came by aboutv3 times before we ordered...we explained its been years since we seen each other and she understood, she didnt rush us or get impatient. When we did get our food she returned a couple times to ensure we were happy and satisfied...her service and attitude was excellent.....my friend ordered the turkey dinner which looked delicious (none leftover..lol) and i had the club sandwich with onion rings...all was great.

Great service, great food!

Good food and good prices! We did a day trip to Ottawa and stopped for breakfast and dinner on our way home.

Terrible service had to wait one hour to get our meal . When we did get it , it had a hair sticking out of the burger . They gave a new one but by the time we got it my meal was cold waiting for my husbands bugger to come so we could eat together . Onion rings were cold from the start . We said we were waiting to be served , they were serving other people and they left before we even got our meal . Disappointed, won t be going back

During my previous visit, I ordered a wrap and requested jalapenos instead of tomatoes due to an allergy. The waitress confirmed the substitution. However, upon receiving my order, the jalapenos were noticeably absent. I brought this to the waitresss attention, and she consulted with the kitchen, only to return with the assurance that finely chopped jalapenos were indeed included. I disagreed, as there was no discernible presence. Notably, the waitresses were courteous and offered to comp my meal.

Love the spicy chicken burger. I always get one for dinner on the way back from Chalk River for work.

My wife and I stop in for supper , and we enjoyed our time the food was hot and delicious very good service friendly and also very clean keep up the great work, we will stop in again on our next trip

Absolutely a total disaster . Place was empty and it took them 45 min to bring me soup and a sandwich. And grossly over priced for what you get .

WHY WOULD YOU GET RID OF THE KRINKLE FRIES???!!!! Everyone loved those delicious fries that you are known for! Kids, children and seniors alike loved them. Why on earth would you mess with that? One of the best things about this restaurant was that you could always expect consistency. Consistent food and menu items and good service. So disappointed.

Best place to stop west of ottawa, if your able grab a burger and enjoy the free wifi, nice sausage and hotdogs and tortillo station, with a nacho station as well, they even allow you to add the cheese to your dogs and sausages at no extra cost. All the ladies at the restaurant are absolutely the nicest and cheeriest people along the 17 west. And dont get me started on the food, magnificent, hot, tasty. By the way, very early does the wifi go down, sometimes as with everywhere, but here, it extends to the back of the trucker lot (along as you back in) JUST FCKING WONDERFUL! I will literally cut my day short, or drive over limit, to come here for my reset. You make me feel at home on the road. Thank you all so much for the most enjoyable experience out of all stops I been to. Emphasis on consistently.

Had the worst service today during breakfast. Seated, order taken. Food was dropped off, then I was left for an hour without a check-in, coffee refill, or any acknowledgment. Meanwhile other tables who were seated after me received coffee refills, checked on. It wasnt busy. My server seemed to just walk around looking busy without doing anything. Had to ask another server for coffee. When the original server was told, I had my plate removed and asked if I was done. No further coffee was offered until I paid and preparing to leave.

Happy Thanksgiving This weekend, two of my daughters and I went on a fall foliage trip up 41 highway to Eganville. We decided to go to Pembroke for the night and stayed across from the Irving. In their younger years our family lived in Nova Scotia and would go to the Big Stop in Enfield for a treat. We always had a good time. So today we went with high expectations for a late breakfast to the Big Stop in Pembroke. It did not disappoint. The younger waitress was amazing as she took our orders with no writing it out and everything came out perfectly. The waitresses changed and then we had Vicky. She is so pleasant and very attentive. Always checking to see if we needed anything or filling drinks before we had to ask. It was a very busy day and the tables just kept changing. She continued with a smile and good words to say to everyone. The place was very well organized and clean which also included the washrooms. The food came out hot and tasty. The girls breakfasts where exactly what they ordered and I had the seafood platter to continue the down east feeling. All was so good. The girls remembered getting pie occasionally down east so they ordered pie for takeout . Their comment was they have pie in the cooler just like Nova Scotia. It was a happy time. Thank you Vicky and The Big Stop for a great experience on top of the best fall foliage drive. We ended up just coming back down 41 highway but was not disappointed as we saw amazing scenery. I used to go here alot as a teen. Always loved their food. It was a blast from the past! Still the same great atmostphere. Fun diner feel when you come into the restaurant, with a long bar with stools. Wait to be seated dining area. Lots of happy folks eating their diner fair. We were quick to be seated we were two families 9 in total. And they sat us in 10 minutes. Was busy around dinner time about 5pm. This is just inside the Irving Gas Station off the highway 17 Pembroke exit. Service was spot on, we all had many choices to choose from. The prices were excellent. Great food, anything youd have at a typical diner. But they had wonderful combos, grilledcheese smash burgers with a hot bowl of tomatoe soup perfect for a chilly fall day. We enjoyed all different fair that day. Not one bad experience. I would recommend their club sandwitch its a popular one! And their pies were mouth watering delights sitting behind their door. Although we were too full to indulge in a piece they did look delicious. Next time we will try the pie!! Very good. No complaints all smiles. Oh and to mention, the kids menus were great. And they had a cute built in stool for the littles to wash their hands in the ladies room a great plus! Wonderful food, excellent service. We will be back again another day. Was one of my go to restaurant but the last time will be my last unfortunately Fud is Gud as always but sometimes it s not enaf.U always want to dine in a friendly and to receive equal treatment as the other customers get I saw our server went to the other table a couple of times to check on them but she never care to come to our table until we finish our meal Anyways I do always take photos of my fud but I deleted all after that

It has been awhile since we were here and the service was abysmal. She didnt give us menus or drinks for 15 min. She was not that busy. Our food was lukewarm when we got it, however, I believe it came out hot and she walked around with it before giving it to us....not sure why

Our server Emma was amazing! They were busy so we had a long wait but the great service made up for it.

This was my first time here at this truckstop and restaurant. The restaurant staff was excellent. Friendly always checking up on you. The food was great. I had the big breakfast. Next time I drive thru, I will be stopping here again.

My recent experiencle at Pembroke Big Stop was marred by the exceptionally poor service provided by Sharon, a lady who served us a breakfast. Despite being courteous to her and patiently waiting, she completely ignored our table throughout our entire meal. Not only did she forget to ask if we needed anything else, but her behavior towards us was also discriminatory. While she readily attended to other customers, she seemed to deliberately overlook us, displaying clear signs of racism. It was disheartening to witness such blatant discrimination in a public establishment. I urge the management to address this issue promptly and provide appropriate training to their staff to ensure such incidents do not occur again. Despite the disappointing service experience with Sharon, I must commend the kitchen staff at Irving Big Stop for serving delicious food. The omelette was cooked to perfection, and the coffee was rich and flavorful. Its unfortunate that the excellent quality of the food was overshadowed by the poor service we received. I hope the management takes necessary steps to improve the overall dining experience for their customers. Vegetarian options: Veggie Omelette and Coffee

My food score is tilted a little by the fact that I have only eaten the gas station food and not at the restaurant. This quick on and off the 17 is a stop I make at least twice a week and am met by friendly faces and great service every time!!!

Clean friendly with lots of food options when on the road

I would have to say I was very disappointed in the food that I received. I ordered for pick up a club sandwich platter. I asked for extra crispy fries, mayo and gravy on the side. When I got home and opened my container up the fries were hardy crispy but rather soggy and there was no mayo at all. The gravy was like water and full of chunks. I literally threw the whole thing in the garbage. I was less than impressed after spending $22 on this meal. I normally dont leave these type of messages but with prices going up and quality not meeting standards I felt it necessary.

What great place to stop for a meal. Highly recommended by the locals we met. I had great chicken wrap and my son loved the max and cheese. The pie looks awesome, we are going back this evening for desert. Great friendly staff here!

Excellent customer service and good food. Enjoyed my hot turkey sandwich and a poutine for my birthday meal. My husband enjoyed the newly lightly breaded fish and chips platter. He also enjoyed his coconut cream pie! Our server Michelle was great!

Nice place to stop for a travel break. Club sandwich was great and crinkle fries in the poutine was different but good with the curds and gravy. They have food in the store but food in restaurant is obviously better.

I was in town visiting a friend and we had breakfast here. The server was awesome. The place was packed. I will be back!

My wife and I, Got here around 1:30pm, the place was fairly quiet. we sat down and waited almost 10 minutes for any kind of service. Which never came. No one at all came to our table, they walked past us a few times but never once acknowledged us. Finally we just got up and left. Was very disappointing and not a good experience at all.

The food was excellent. 12 of us at a table (most from Ottawa). We were in awe of Ashley, our waitress. We ordered different dishes, each with specific requests. We could not believe she got our orders correct (without writing it down). I thought she was recording us somehow. Amazing service. No problem with our bills either. Wow! Never before have I had such an experience. She said she loves her job, so for her, it s easy to remember everything. Thank you!

I came here to take a shower and it was super clean and amazing staff works here. And lots of parking for big rigs love it

A little pricy but good breakfasts. A little too much potato squares. A shame to waste in such times.

I have eaten here multiple times, each time I left disappointed. The food is sub-par and overpriced. Everything tastes all pre-packaged and previously frozen. Chicken was slightly dry, fish and chips were bad. They use the cheap crinkle cut fries that you find at the grocery store and taste quite bad. Coffee isnt the best, but the pie is good. Each meal will be costing you close to $20, coffee is $3.50 for a mug. Expect to spend $50-$60 for a meal that will leave you disappointed. Staff seemed disorganised and were a little slow, plus one was talking loudly on the phone while sweeping which is not professional.

The Pembroke Big Stop Restaurant is the restaurant at this Irving Gas Stop. If youre looking for a tasty trucker big all-day breakfast or other interesting and fair priced meals, this is your stop. Its a regular stop for us.

Our go to when in thé Pembroke area. Come hungry the portions are amazing. My only wish is that they brewed local coffee from - Madawaska Coffee- and sold it in thé convenience store side as well.

A huge parking lot for trucks, just off the highway. Very clean restrooms. Food is good and they have a few varieties. There was a huge line when I was billing and only one person at the counter. Felt someone else also could have helped with another counter.

No complaints food or service wise. . I just find it a little pricey for what it is.

Some of the wings were undercooked. Thai bites had nachos sprinkled on them. Service was great, prices not so much. $35 bucks for this!
