The Hub on Martin in Penticton

Its funny. For a person known as never shutting up, I find myself at a loss for words when it comes to describing this amazing place! I came by for the first time about a month ago, and had the pleasure of being served by Heidi. Unlike most establishments, Heidi took my dry British humor with a grain of salt, and did not make me feel as I were doing anything wrong. The second time, I was met and served by the amazing Christie. This lady is the EPITOME of an Earth Mother. Only a select few will understand what I mean by this. And if she is reading this review, I already know she has tears welling up in her eyes! (I sense these things). When I was told about management, I cringed. Only because of my personal rebellious nature. (I just do NOT adhere to people in authoritative positions! Then, I met one of the owners by the name of Kori.. I kid you not, this lady had me rolling in the aisles with her refreshing sense of humor. However, more importantly, she understood MINE, and did not try to cap me. (Which would be akin to placing a piece of saran wrap over a searchlight!) In the interim of all this juicy stuff, I met two of the most down-to-earth, likeable bartenders that I have EVER met. And the I find out that they are brothers! Jared and Keaton. And sweet Lyss. Im not forgetting you! Then AFTER having major positive vibes with all of the aforementioned, I met the other owner, Loree. And (by now, not to my surprise), I joked and laughed with her for most of the day. Now, normally, I say, Screw Political Correctness, and I live by this philosophy - that is, until it affects someone who is dear to me and close to my heart. A couple of weeks ago, after another bar closed at midnight, we decided to go to the Hub. I didnt have any problem with this, but my friend, wasnt sure he would be accepted as he suffers from various ailments. Now get this. More name dropping - LOL! Upon reaching the doors of the Hub, we were not only very politely greeted by a bouncer named John, but the guy even had the class to hold the door open for us! And I kid you not, I have seen, experienced, the good and the bad of customer service. And I also kid you not when I say that out of thousands of places I have frequented, I have never met a staff who is in such sync with each other. AND IT SHOWS IN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE - which is Gold Star all the way! Kori and Loree must be exceptional people when it comes to vibing out their staff, because every single one of the people I just mentioned, are genuine, friendly, helpful, kind, considerate and that in itself speaks volumes about the kind of people that THEY are! A couple of Fridays ago, I went in during during the day and met and laughed with Ami. She turned out to be just as pleasant and awesome as the others. Man, if I keep this up, this review will be like reading the Shanghai Yellow Pages! LMAO! About a week ago, I met this awesome lady who I THOUGHT was the Ami I mentioned above! I treated her and joked with her as if I knew her, and not once did she ever make me feel like a total tool by never meeting her, neither did she condescend, and on the contrary, it was like I knew her forever. Her name is Kaia, and is absolutely beautiful - inside and out! Like ALL of the people here! Loree and Kori sure know how to pick winners when it comes to their staff! And I feel really bad that the first time I wrote my original review, I didnt give the kitchen staff the nod that they all deserve. So thanks to you ALL! Take a bow - ALL of you. You all deserve recognition for being the wonderful people that you are!

It is a great place for drinks and live music. Will try more of the food next visit.

We were charged $10 per person and the kitchen was closed, place was basically empty and the band was unbearable loud with no one in the place.We won t be back

Nice atmosphere, great staff and service, and the food is very good!!! Nice to meet one of the owners, and the recommendations for surrounding business was also amazing, out of our 4 day stay ,we frequented the Hub 3 days, highly recommend, S Walker Kamloops.

We went to watch live Music on a Saturday. Started at 9pm. We got there at 845pm and all tables were taken. Their was a cover, which was fine. But we asked If there were tables and the bouncer said yes, when there wasnt. I think when a cover is being charged, they should keep an eye a bit closer We sat out on the patio, which doesnt appear to be serviced very well I had to ask twice to get some help. And it took another 10 mins after that. It was pretty busy though The band was fantastic and overall good atmosphere. Ordered poutine. It was Medicocre. The slush long ice teas were great.

Had 3 orders of chicken wings on Wing Wednesday, 9.95 for 10. A good price and very tasty. We each just had water to drink. We couldnt eat them all, so asked for take out containers. The server did bring them, HOWEVER she made a point of telling us that they dont normally allow take home for wings because they dont make money on them and we should ONLY order what we can eat. Then she said next time it wouldnt be allowed. Really? We are paying for them whether we eat them all in restaurant or take the rest home. I felt talked down too, and think this is ridiculous.

Stopped in for a late lunch with a friend. We enjoyed the tofu burger and poutine along with some adult beverages. It was not very busy because of the weird time we went. The service was great, as usual. Vegetarian options: Delicious vegetarian menu! This place is absolutely fun and exciting. Great atmosphere and the service is perfect.

Great place for dinner and dancing, good food, decent pricing. The Live music can be a little overwhelming and they could definitely control the volume a little better but still a great place to go on a Friday or Saturday.

Came here to watch The Flannel Contract play and ended up ordering food while waiting. Best decision Ive made in a while. Food is AMAZING, waitresses are SUPER polite and nice. And the music was great as always. This is where you want to go for music and drinks on a Saturday night 100%

Live music! Amazing sound system with wood dance floor. Super great staff, atmosphere was clean, comfortable and food was quality, standards are high! Superb food and drink pub downtown.

Awesome place to eat, drink and listen to live bands. One on the best places to go out in the Okanagan. The staff are amazing, accommodating and friendly. I ve had bad experiences in many places. Not here. I would encourage anyone to check this place out if you are looking to have a good night out, lunch with friends or have a drink! Well done the hub Penticton

Great food and service

This review comes late, but we were visiting from Toronto and ended up coming here a few times during our trip! The servers, the manager, the karaoke, the live bands, the drinks and food were all fantastic!

Food was great! The service was quick and friendly, we decided to stick around for the music on Friday and the band did not disappoint! The sound quality is phenomenal! We liked it so much we decided to come back for Breakfast in the morning and had the eggs Benny which was delicious, served with lightly seasoned tots which was a nice change from regular hash brown. 10/10 for food,service , and entertainment!

Went there for the first time Saturday night for my daughters 19th birthday. Absolutely loved it, was a night to remember for her and myself. We will be back

Took my kids to have brunch and sing some kareoke on Sundays. They loved it, and we did, too. So happy to have a place to sing and now have my kids there enjoying karaoke too.

We came for Family karaoke, and LOVED it! We enjoyed a good old fashioned breakfast, and seeing the kids really get into singing and dancing. Karaoke promotes literacy, and confidence and its so great to have a place for my daughter to sing her little heart out with her peers.

I ve been so many restaurants/pubs in penticton. But no other place can match the vibe like hub on martin.

The chicken wings and deep fried pickles were soooo good!

Great spot - first visit for Fathers Day brunch, bennys were awesome on the focaccia bread and they whipped up something for our toddlers too. Great service, drinks and food. Awesome addition to the block!

The stage, the sound and lighting is top of the line, extremely professional! Saw an amazing band there tonight and really looking forward to their upcoming shows!

Played here recently and everyone was amazing! The servers, the atmosphere, the food, and the management were top notch! A very special thanks to Joe the sound technician for an amazing job and also to the security that was working there! Cheers!

Upon entering the establishment, I was warmly greeted and immediately thrilled by the ambiance. The venue boasts an impressive stage for bands and a plethora of comfortable seats, each beckoning you to relax. I decided to indulge in the cheeseburger poutine fries and beef dip, and to my delight, both dishes surpassed my expectations. The attentive and amiable staff further enhanced the experience. Im already looking forward to my next visit!

Absolutely love this new spot in Penticton! The food is amazing (have tried multiple dishes) and the service is always incredible! It can definitely be a bit loud on the live music nights but as long as you are prepared for that going in it s great! Food

Outstanding service, food and atmosphere what are you waiting for get down here!

My friend and I went for drinks and to listen to the live music last night (Aug 5). Staff were amazing! Waitresses were all friendly and attentive. I saw a girl a booth over clearly in a state where she needed to get home - the bouncer came over and made sure she got into a cab with her friend and made sure she was safe (in a kind and respectful manner - she wasn t bounced, he just made sure she made it into her cab). This is such an important thing to have for women - to feel completely safe and comfortable. The band was phenomenal, drinks reasonably priced, and dance floor was bumping. Someone spilled a drink on the floor and in less than 2 minutes the floor was mopped and clean. It s clear the staff have pride in their work. Loved it, and will be back!

Cool place with good drinks and great live music. Only complaint is that the music is turned up way too loud, making communication with friends and servers near impossible.

Manager and waitresses were extremely rude and unprofessional. Will not come back again.

Both co-owners came to our table after we paid and argued with us for not tipping our server. We didn t tip our server because our service was horrible and the attitude she gave us was jaw dropping. I could not imagine being in the service industry and behaving this way. Will not be coming back. Btw food was also awful and took 40 minutes.

We had a disagreement with the waitress about an item on our bill. The managers said that we (the customer) are wrong and charged us regardless of something we did not order. When we refused to pay for that item, both owners came to our table and harassed us in front of other customers. It was extremely embarassing and unprofessional.

Service was the worst I ve ever experienced at a restaurant. Our Waitress insulted our entire table that consisted of my elderly relatives. Had issues with the food all night and if you ask to speak to the manager you will get yelled at by her. Absolutely do not recommend going to this restaurant unless you enjoy bad service and being embarrassed in public by an unprofessional staff.

Ridiculously delicious food, gluten-friendly options and GF beer too. Fun and social during the day and awesome bands with dancing many evenings.

Was quite impressed. Though bar goers might want to take that with a grain of salt. Im not one much for bar types, but its sort of half restaurant style, with booths and such. Alyssa was excellent with service and even made me a custom drink. If I were the type to go out more often rather than be dragged out by the wife, this would be a regular stop for sure. The burger and fries I got were well cooked and tasty, my wife and her friends were all quite happy too. Thanks!

I love this place on so many levels! First off their food and service is excellent. Great atmosphere and a killer sound system for the amazing bands that come play here. Ive seen a few of them and I was never disappointed, they have all been so great.
