I was staying in the Sandman hotel where this restaurant is . I called in from the room and they said 5 to 10 minutes for the loaded tots appetizer . So I went there I proceeded to wait another 20 minutes. By this time, it was almost happy hour . If I wanted to wait this long, I would have just ordered this for half-price at happy hour When it came after 33 minutes of placing the order, I told the waitress that this took too long anything after over 25 minutes is not acceptable. So I asked if I could return it and cancel it and she said no . then I asked if theres Something that the manager could do and she came back and returned and with no solution Horrible customer service (and no local craft beers to choose from!!) . The restaurant had only two customers in it and so I couldn’t understand how it could possibly take so long and then found out they share a kitchen with Denny’s . However, this did not make up for how long I had to wait and feeling very dissatisfied with this food. By the time it came to me, it was almost happy hour where this item was on. It would’ve been nice if they would’ve at least given me half price for how long I had to wait or got me a beverage or something to make up for taking a chunk of my time waiting . When I used to work in the restaurant industry anything over 25 minutes and if a guest was unhappy, we would definitely do something for them
This just wasn't a great experience. The place was almost empty but there was next to no service, and my order was incorrect... but the server never came back. In the end we had to go ask for our bill.
Two tables came after us and got their food first, ignored for 20 minutes and had to go up to the bar to get a second drink. food arrived, chicken and burger were both colder than the fries they came with, jalapeno burger was dry and had less seasoning than the fries. Maybe just a bad night, but it's the only impression I'm ever going to have.
Went in to order takeout and asked for the Mac and Cheese. The server told me it wasn’t very good and that she recommended the baked spaghetti because it was incredible. Received my food and went back up to my room. Opened the container, it looked like old noodles microwaved with some grated cheese on top, very plain marinara sauce on the side (luke warm) and the meatballs were mass produced frozen “meat” of some sort. The only saving grace was the garlic toast. I had about 3 bites and tossed it. Wish I had scrolled down a few reviews to see the photo of the “baked” spaghetti. Definitely a disappointment.
To start off, Amy our server is always awesome. She's the main reason we go. But last night on wing night she was run off her feet as the place was packed and once again the management didn't bring in another server to help her. There was a young lady handing out food but she gave us the wrong order which made Amy's night worse. The 5 people at my table who were there for the first time won't go back. The short staff issue on Wing might has been happening for years. The owner has to do better, much better. Again though, Amy is always awesome.

The food is really good here... if you can track down a staff member to help you. I've been there a few occasions and every time the service is terrible. A couple times we waited for about 25 mins before even being acknowledged that we were there. The bartender was the one who took our order and he wasn't super familiar with the menu but wanted to help out. The waitress was too busy drinking at the bar to bother. The food is quite good. Drinks are average. I haven't gone back.
We go here regularly for wings and always delicious wings & great service! Ordered 3 lbs to ensure there were a few left to take home for later!
In last two weeks have been there twice. Problem though is that now it winter. They have it way too cold in there for eating. By time we ate and left was really cold. Took a while to get rid of the chill in my body

Way too busy on a Thursday night wing special..... the management knows they are swamped on a Thursday, why not put two extra servers on for this night. Yes the wings are ok, and cheap! But not worth the aggro. Food

This is just a very comfortable atmosphere. Not too load and not too quiet. We have alot of old people here but at BarOne you can meet people in their middle ages.

Server was nice, but the food was meh at best. Might as well have gone to the Dennys next door, where the food is cheaper and of the same quality. The servers tend to be a bit more of an eclectic bunch but do just fine over there as well.
Great atmosphere has a lounge feel to it. Laurie and Aimee provide excellent service. The food is very good here, especially the chicken tacos and wings!

Went in, late night, while staying at the Sandman Penticton. Laurie was our server. She was happy and helpful. Made some suggestions for happy hour bites! We had the dry ribs and the Thai chicken bites. She was super super amazing. Thank you Laurie so much for an amazing experience! 10/10!!! We were staying at the sandman for our kids hockey camp. Managed to sneak in for a pint. Laksman was my server, very nice guy, good atmosphere, food was great. And the pints were cold. Highly recommend!

Here for a girls weekend.. came to Bar One for dinner and drinks. Michael our server was fantastic...the food however was not. Nachos came out cold with cold pale cheese sauce?? Came back second time with cheese sprinkled on but still stone cold.. sent back 2x before it came out marginally warm... the Cobb Salad which was supposed to have steak on it had no steak..or dressing..Michael was kind and apologetic .. we felt sorry he had to make excuses for poor food out of the kitchen. Wont be going back.
Zero stars would be better... we arrived at 8:10 on a Saturday night. The staff looked at us like they were annoyed we were there. After 10 minutes of waiting we were informed that they were closing at 9... so we left terrible experience

Hummm....torn between a 2 and a 3...here is why. Food was justbokay, fries came cold, but they very quickly redid them. The wings were way over dressed, here is where I am torn, some people like overdressed wing, I just dont, preference shouldnt make for a bad review...just messy hands. The service was deplorable. They were friendly enough, but too chatty at the bar, that the customers got neglected. So again, very friendly, but not attentive enough.

Went here on 12.30.20 by reviews and we were not disappointed! Relaxed ambience and our waitress Amy was great. We ordered some appies and the coconut curry rice bowl to go! Great food and prices, definitely recommend and we will be back next time were in this area. Lastly, the cucumber cooler & caesars were on point Came down from New West for a 3 night stay @ the Fairfield Inn. Super pleased with Penticton!!
Rude and completely unaware of their own menu over the phone. The man that answered the phone would not allow us to speak with anyone else either. Terrible

If I could give a zero I would. We went 2 times in a span of 3 days because it was attached to the hotel we were staying at. Should have known after the first time not to go back but we did unfortunately. Terrible service. I would not recommend at all.

Attended this bar after a concert and it was a little busy, understandably, however the supervisor on duty handled it quite poorly. She refused service to not only my group but several other groups. I attempted to rectify or discuss the situation, but was flat out ignored. Being in the industry I do understand the conditions of serving, but the way we were treated was pathetic. We ended up going top another bar at another hotel which was packed with a line full of people coming from Bar One. The only reason I am giving two starts instead of one is we were at the bar earlier in the day to grab a bite to eat and our server and the atmosphere at the time was great, the food was good and very reasonably priced. The staff at the front desk of the hotel were understanding and also great to deal with regarding the situation.

3 days after re-opening admidst covid. Came for sat night ufc. Maybe about 20 people or so came in during our 3 hours there. So it wasnt busy at all, but our waitress was awesome, and between her, the manager, and the bartender, they were all taking their cleaning protocals for covid very seriously. Happy about that. Took some wings and poutine to go, and they were some of the best wings weve ever had! Well be back on our next Penticton getaway. Bravo!!!

Almost non existant service , closes early on a Friday night , and , when we asked to cash in our vouchers for lottery winnings we were told we couldnt.
We came in here twice and Kamal served us both times and he was absolutely amazing! Super nice, friendly, and professional. Appie hour was great! Food is superb! Would definitely come back again!
I usually order on SkipTheDishes but also attended in-person a couple times. The chicken chipotle tacos are by far one of the best items on the menu. Great, friendly staff and fast service. Food tasted good. Id eat here again. Prices could come down a bit on some of their items for what you get though.

I ordered a jalapeno burger with a poutine and mile high burger with a poutine well I thought salad both burgers were half raw. The poutines didnt have grave and there was ranch dressing but no salad

I popped in for dinner solo one evening while staying at the Sandman Hotel. I walked in, and I waited by the door for over 10 minutes. In which time not a single staff member acknowledged me in any way. I had no idea if it was a seat yourself, or wait to be seated place as this was my first time. All someone had to do was smile and tell me to find a seat or to just give them a second. But nothing. I get it was wing night and relatively busy. But their lack of acknowledgement in any fashion was so rude I walked out. I will not be returning.

Heard the wings were good so thought wed give them a try. A little small but plenty of them (13), lots of flavour choices and very reasonably priced. A few lottery games to play while sitting at the bar and friendly attentive staff added to the evenings enjoyment.

Terrible service, 40 mins to get a drink, rude server who blamed the slow service on a poor bartender. Four person table throws 2 menus at our table doesn t say anything and walks away. Over an hour to get appetizers. Will never return.

We go here for wings and beers on Thursdays. Great wings. I order the dry wings with a dipping sauce on the side. They make them perfectly crispy. Just the way I like them.

Felt like the start of Bar Rescue. When was Jon Taffin going to walk in. 9 tables and patrons at the bar. 3 floor staff and one bartender. I dont want to elaborate, maybe they were just slammed and we walked in during the aftermath. Then again maybe we did not.

Best kept secret in Penticton
The service was terrible, after 30 minutes I still had not been waited on. Finally after asking a waitress on the floor for a drink I still waited quite some to place my food order. The two items I ordered took forever and one of them was wrong. I was ready to leave by the time it finally showed up and it was so greasy. I will never go back there again, bar non!

I came on a Thursday night around 6 and waited for 15 just to be ignored by the two waitresses, we were noticed but no one came to take our order or even greet us. We walked out but came back later the same night thinking it would be better. When I came back around 8, same thing happened, we were once again ignored so walked out once again.
For starters, their pint is 16 instead of 20 ounces. There were few other patrons the evening of our visit. Despite this, the service was haphazard. The excuse for the constant screw-ups that evening was that the cook could not speak English. One member of our group became so fed up after finally being brought her meal which was not what she ordered she left and went to bed hungry. I cannot recommend and would never return to this place myself.

Slower than dial up is their so called internet! Wow! This is now last three times and making it impossible to consider stopping in when you cannot just email! Outlook would not even load up for Pete sake! 3 stars and not 2 cause girl was nice and they had good music playing, not just Sun FMs awfulness. As well...have more than just one sports channel on..please! Efforts matter and that aspect allows me to choose wisely where I go out there.
