Copper Mug Pub in Penticton

*** NOTE - I am NOT writing this out of being cut off or barred. In actuality - I barred myself. Im not gonna give my good money to arrogant jerks who obviously havent even a remote clue as to what customer service is all about. This isnt the only bar Ive blacklisted. If Im insulted, Ill just take myself out of the equation and find greener pastures. Problem solved and end of story.*** That said, the staff at the Copper Mug are all friendly and genuine. And that includes the manager - Brad, who is a super nice guy. One never gets the feeling that his interactions and communication are forced - he comes off as a down-to-earth guy who knows what he is doing. However, he must have had a REALLY bad day when he hired his arrogant, unfriendly bartender Tavis, who gives you the feeling that he just does NOT want to be there. I went there on a Saturday afternoon and it was dead - and when I left, it was also dead. This nimrod accused ME of driving customers away, (even though it was dead when I got there), and while I was there maybe 3 people came in and sat at the bar. I had a delightful talk with one gentleman for nearly 3 hours, who had to leave abruptly when his wife called him. (Whom I ALSO got blamed of driving away - even after we had had nearly a 3-hour talk and a very good conversation). It is now Monday, and I have talked with friends who refuse to go to this bar SPECIFICALLY when Tavis is working. Instead of blaming other people for causing the bar to be dead, he should take a damn good look in the mirror if he wants to find out the real reason people avoid going there like the plague when hes working. He is your stereotypical arrogant know-it-all bartender who serves and over serves, and then wonders when people get drunk. He is COMPLETELY in the wrong business, because his people skills are at zero. He is unfriendly, rude, abrasive and obnoxious. And either all the people are wrong about his personality (or lack thereof), or he is. Ill let you decide. I feel very sorry for Brad. (The manager). As Ive said, he is the epitome of a super nice guy, and you can tell that he is. Its a shame he has to suffer because of the lousy temperment of his bartender who thinks hes God. On Sunday alone, at the Barking Parrot, I was told story after story about what a lousy bartender he is. Other than that Tavis thing, the rest of the staff are all awesome. Food is great and the customers are friendly and fun. Tavis should take a lesson in how to treat people with dignity and respect by following the lead of his customers.

Place is too dark inside. But ok. Pizza was okay. Service good.

It was pretty good.

First time at this establishment. Soup was very good but both of our mushroom burgers were burned so badly that they were inedible. Informed one of the staff and the only response was sorry about that .

Wife and I had two of the worst burgers of our lives. She sent it back with solid burnt black Buns. Later realized the meat was dangerously undercooked. They comped it which was appreciated. I was so hungry I fought through mine but the meat patty, bacon and buns were all burnt. I tasted that burnt taste all the way home. It was a game night and packed so that probably explains it but doesn t make it better.

Food and drinks are way overpriced for the level of quality you receive. Worst beef dip Ive ever had. 0/10. Beef was dry and no amount of jus would bring that back. Food

Its your typical pub It was quiz night, so it was packed and loud. Our server Tara was hustling. We didnt have to wait very long for our drinks at all. DJ played 4 aqua songs back to back, plus Spice Girls, than Tiffany - so no complaints from me

Its always a pleasant visit at The Copper Mug! It was fairly busy... took a few mins to be served, but the service was fantastic as usual! The food was delicious!

Very limited menu with typical pub fare. The food was kinda so so but the fries were nice & crispy. The IPA on tap was good but not special

Everything was great except the wait for service - took 15 mins before we were even approached but the pub was busy and only 2 servers so was understandable. Both food and service in general was good - basic good old pub fare served hot and beer was ice cold, just what we were looking for.

lol. just came back from here. the place was bumping, and I cant understand why. maybe because the prices are a couple bucks cheaper than usual. the place is wayyyy understaffed. the entrance does not indicate whether to seat yourself or wait to be seated. waited like 10 minutes until another customer told me to just grab a seat. took another 10 minutes for a server to show up. another 10 minutes for my first drink. still no menu at this point. asked for the menu when my drink showed up. the girl seemed irritated that I am asking for something. another 15 minutes until the server came back. ordered a calamari. another beer. 20 min for food to show up. ate. waited another 15 minutes or so for the server to make her rounds again. asked for the bill. by now you should get an idea. she came back with my bill, but no card machine. i was going to order more food and drinks but that would have meant adding another hour to this fiasco. by the time my evening was done, I had two beers and an appy. total time 2 hours and 45 mins. needless to say I wont be going back nor recommending. by the way, the washroom was a filth, which is a pretty big red flag on its own.

The food is always excellent and consistent the service top notch the ambience and comfort of the place inside is Very appealing highly recommend this place

Service staff were great! Food was mediocre, but the gravy was fantastic. Great place to watch sports though, there were many different games on at the same time.

Great food, good drinks, and phenomenal staff!! Jean, Carm, + Jenn are a few of our absolute favourites. Been coming here regularly for years and highly recommend it for those who love the classic pub feel, casual gambling (they know we love our keno), or catching the game. Or when we really want to turn up, music trivia on Friday nights!!

I have been there many times over the last couple of months. This is actually my favorite place to eat as far as pub food goes. Sometimes the service is a little slow but it looks like the waitresses there are trying their hardest.

Great place for wings and brew

I went to enjoy wing night with friends. Waitress Jennifer seems not impressed, as usual, to be serving but does warm up to our group as we are friendly to her. I asked to order off of the menu. I was told shed have to take the wing orders first. Wings came, she did finally take my menu order at that time, my friends finished wings and drinks and I still had no food. I cancelled my order and we all left. Why cant a person order off the menu with wing orders. I left hungry

Dont order beer on tap, they might clean the lines, I cant tell, the beer always tastes off. Have the stuff in bottles. The food is decent, for a pub.

We didn t have any food but the Atmoshpere was great! We came from out of town and wanted to go to a bar for a drink, ended up staying for music trivia night and it was awesome! Wish could come here more!

I went around supper time, and the service was friendly and fast. It had a sports bar atmosphere. I liked the football helmets hanging from the wall.

Waitress staff is good however I question if theyre shorting on poured liquor drinks. Several times I suspected the double I order is not a true double. Either their bar tender is shorting, the waitress is shorting or its the dispenser. Either way not a good thing. Thats ripping customers off.

What a wonderful evening out !!! Turns out, our group ended up winning the $100.00 music trivia prize !!! What fun, good night !!!

I went with a group of friends to enjoy an evening of music trivia. My beer tasted like the lines hadnt been cleaned in a really long time ( I work in the industry.). When we first walked in, they treated my friend who was in a wheelchair with so much disrespect. We asked for a different server because Tara, the server, was drunk and flashing her breasts and dancing on tables being incredibly unprofessional. The server that we switch to was new and she was amazing. I dont think I will be going back. I feel bad for the new girl because she was having to serve the co-workers tables because she was too drunk to

If I could give zero stars I would. I was there Friday night with friends and the waitress was rude and discrimated our friend who is in a power wheel chair. She tried sitting us in a section with a step to get to and told us to lift him up it and the laughed. The same waitress was dancing on the table, inappropriate to some of our male friends, and at one point was kissing a patron. When we called to report her the manager did not seem to care.

Went for a beer and burgers after a day of climbing, and it was exactly what I needed.

Stopped here randomly... Looking for high class and fancy menus.... try the earls... if youre looking for a place to watch the game eat some good food, then you gotta check this place out. Went in on a Ceasars special day and left very inebriated.... Also what luck!! Prime rib special Only thing one could ask for is service and in a packed bat our server was on point!! Excellent food, drinks and fun

First time there tonight. We waited forever for our food. Waitress said it was because of a big table before us (there were no big tables there). The manager approached my husband and was very snippy (like how dare us be upset for waiting 40 mins). Told us they would give a discount - took $3 off a $40 bill. As we left, the manager glared at us. We will never be back and will be sure to pass it along to friends and family.

Another example of the overserving that goes on in the Penticton drinking establishments. Patrons out front that are too drunk to get into a cab without assistance. This place should be shut down before someone gets hurt or killed. Can you say LAWSUIT????

Ordered dry ribs and they we great. Not out of a bag. Made in house. Best part was they were garnished with onion rings lol

Last nights dinners were awesomely delicious. I had fish tacos, my partner had beef dip, my brother had pasta and his girlfriend had a steak sandwich. They all were large portions and every bite was super tasty. The atmosphere is extremely comfortable.

Always love the atmosphere and have had the honor of playing there with my different bands for many years. Yes its gone through some renovations over the years but has never lost its appeal.

This was my first time at this place. We went in around 6:00 for dinner, they had a few tables. We sat down at a table waitress saw us come in but took her 15-20min to bring us menus and asking us what to drink. The place was very cold inside felt like that the a/c was still on. Its the middle of November turn on the heat. The service was not great. it was like she never cared. no smile, no personality it was like she didnt care. The food was good nothing to complain about. probably wont be back due to the lack of service.

Was in Penticton couple days ago an dad an I came into the Pub a hour to closing time, ordered with minutes to spare till the kitchen closed.... The cooks in that kitchen were amazing the dish was great size was awesome and the quality of food for the price was thumbs up for me.. thank you for making my trip that much more memorable.

Been there 2xs. Left standing at the please wait to be seated sign and ignored at the door both times. Maybe one day we will actually be seated and try the food!

I attended many events at the mug both personal and work related. I was very disappointed in the portion sizes of my take home order. I usually don t complain but I feel the quality has really gone down hill.

Good service. Great Friday special at a reasonable price. COVID protocol followed in a friendly way. Look forward to going back to try something else.
