200 Ellis St, Penticton, BC V2A 4L6, Canada
We make beer for everyone and every occasion.
Highway 97 is our winter go-to for Happy Hour. Nice selection of craft beers on tap. Cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended. Shout out to Luke the bartender.
A great new location since last visiting them several years ago. A good menu for a variety of food and beer. Be sure to try a flight of beer when you visit!
Went here this past weekend as they are dog friendly. We decided to stop in and introduce our very scared 9 month old Boston X Pug pup to new surroundings. It was dead for a Saturday, should have been our first clue. We sat outside to give space for our dog. The older female server came up quickly behind our little dog and startled him which caused him to jump and bark. When she came around the table and our dog could see her she instantly reached for him and he lunged as i pulled back while growling. I corrected him as he is still a pup and training. we apologized to the server and let her know he's learning and still a pup. She dropped our menus on the table and walked away. Another couple came in with a dog on the patio they passed by our chair no issues with both dogs. they had their collie under the table sitting between the two owners. once again same server comes up abruptly and the dog barks the owners correct. the server drops the menus on their table and walked away. Then that table got up and left and you could tell they were annoyed with the server reacted to them. We wish we did the same however we already placed an order for food and drink. Our food came out and the our puppy sat there patiently waiting to get food didnt make a pipe after that initial greating. The food was good however the interaction with the server was rude and cold. she clearly didn't want our service and was annoyed with the previous interaction with our pup. We asked for our bill and she brought it out. Once again no issues with he dog since the initial greeting. She then scolded us and said she will not tolerate that and we wont be welcome back again if the dog were to ever do that again. As paying i explained to her oh trust me we will NEVER be back here as we are from Kelowna. We arent even from here hes still a puppy and is learning how to walk on a leash and be in public settings this is all in training. As we are correcting him as we go. She then changed her tune as the payment was processing hopefully trying to turn around the situation to gain a big tip. Stating oh hes just a puppy well hes still learning. i told her we said that at to her at the beginning when you first came to the table. Later we met up with our friends at another brewery ( dog totally fine and servers understanding) who are local to the Penticton area and we told them about our experience at this location and i guess this server is well known for being rude and just walking away almost like she's annoyed with the table. I guess she is going through some personal stuff as well. Which is sad but taking it out on paying customers and guests is not the answer. If you do end up going to this location don't bring your dog and I wish you luck on the service you receive.
Our friends have recently moved to Penticton and they love a good beer so they took us here. It could not have been a better venue. They had IPA and I had the Porter. The food choices were excellent with the best ribs I have ever tasted (a menu special for the Peach Festival) The waitress was really helpful too. 11/10 from me!
Amazing assortment of beer was very pleasing to taste multiple variations of different types of beer the have ciders and seltzers chicken wing were tasty and not greasy potato skins were fabulous they held a magician mind reader ryan Michael he was Amazing crazy Amazing
On my first visit, I stopped by for a quick beer and a light lunch. I was happy to see that they had two IPAs on tap and as I was unfamiliar with them, I asked fo a taster of each. Both were good but different and I was split on which one I liked best so I asked if I could get a half and half and was cheerfully accommodated.I wasn't very hungry so I was looking for something small and I spotted the Carrot Ginger soup on the specials chalkboard. It was delicious with a hint of curry and garlic butter sourdough roll. I highly recommend it. I'll definitely return to try more.
Highway 97 Brewing is a must stop! All the brews here are top notch, cold, fresh and tasty! The staff here are lovely! Bree, Maggie and Roberta always make sure your having a good time here! The wings here are excellent, good meat quality, great cook, im a huge fan of the hot honey wings. If your up to it, the mac n cheeze add pulled pork is legit and the meatlovers flatbread is really good.
Awesome atmosphere! Stopped in on a Friday afternoon. It was very busy and lack of staff but it did not affect the experience. The 2 that were there, possibly owners, were so upbeat and positive and still taking the time to connect with customers. Dogs are very welcome! Even had tire dog beds around the place. We loved it. Strawberry cream ale is AMAZING.
It dont matter if your are regular or new. They will treat you the same
Tryed 2 different cans of thier beer, the Czech Pilsner and Light Duty, they were both very good. Looking forward to trying some of the other types of beer soon.
Great selection of beer, other beverages and typical non alcoholic. Great food, service, comfortable seating and dogs are allowed inside!
This was a great stop. They have an excellent selection of beer on tap. The chicken wings really hit the spot. We sat outside and didn t want leave. Service was great.
My friend and I were very excited to try out several breweries in Penticton. We found the bartender very curt. We loved the beer . Amazing. When we asked to pay, I gave her $20. No change was brought over 10 minutes. When I asked for change she claimed we drank 4 sleeves x $5 ea. I said no, we only drank 2 . Why would a waitress try and rip off a tourist for $10 in a competitive microbrewery industry?
Proper 20oz pints and good food! Also, dog friendly (inside and out iirc). Their daily specials are excellent
Great beers and a fantastic atmosphere. Happy hour was a great boon as well. The wall of dog photos put things over the top though. We had a great time looking through all of the adorable puppies that have visited.
Great Brewery!
Refreshing food and drink on a hot HOT day
Food is always great, New waitress Kate was super nice! And they have a great selection of beer, strawberries my fave. The bandido is also very good, It won first place I think at festival ale!!!!
Warning! Establishment supports and hosts performers that promote hateful anti-LGBTQ ideology
Go across the street to the Cannery. This place was terrible. The beer was flat and the glass was warm out of the washer. The server did not seem happy to be there at all. We went for lunch. The food was mediocre at best. They dont have a parking lot. They recommended we park on the nearby residential street as thats where they all park for free. We found that quite inconsiderate to the neighborhood residents. We paid for parking instead. Bad experience, rude people. We visit Penticton alot. Wont be back here.
Bathrooms don t lock, floors were filthy, very salty and not a lot of flavour.
Okay fine. The Salmon cranberry brie flatbread was an 8/10.
Tasty beers, great food, and a friendly staff. Great place for a get together . Like a birthday party!
So many delicious beers, in exciting flavors! Very friendly and helpful staff! Great for large groups! We had my husbands 50th birthday party there and the service was excellent! Thank you Roberta for taking such great care of our group, we had almost 30 people, and you kept drinks in everyones hand at all times. The food menu has expanded, and is delicious. The flat bread was fabulous, the burgers were so juicy and the nachos were a huge hit too! Thank you for everything, and going out of your way to make a special space for my family and friends.
Extremely friendly staff, super awesome atmosphere and AMAZING dog wall!!
My sons favorite restaurant. We celebrated his 10th birthday here because he loves the wings so much. Thank you for the all star treatment! Turning double digits will be memorable for him!
Everything excellent !
Good beer and food. Family friendly, casual atmosphere. I would recommend trying their meat pies.....very good, as well as their wings. Continues to impress, I highly recommend a visit! Another great addition is the potato skins! Yummmm!
Great flavors. The pretzel was like a true pretzel, not just bread dough, potato salad was creamy and had great veggies beyond potatoes. Chips and salsa very tasty in edible bowl. Lots of great ingredients and tastes in the loaded potatoes skins, not spicy but not bland either. Cool brew selection and Dog friendly! Cool staff, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about their menu.
Great beer, and best of all for me, our dogs were welcome! Dog beds everywhere and house made dog treats available!
Friendly attentive service. They ran out of most of their wines which I thought was odd. Will be back!
Great spot for fantastic craft brew and food
Hwy 97. Good brewery. Lots of parking great beer selection and dog friendly
Nice patio, good service and yummy beers. Also the Nachos we had were excellent
Beer has much improved...no more hot dogs, new food was great! We liked!
We came in from out of town visiting family for a 1pm lunch and a pint (for those of us drinking.) We were greeted by our very assentric but well to do waitress. She was very very outgoing in a Okanagan region kinda way. I spent a lot of time in the area as a kid and most of my family is from here. Some people who dont understand that mentality could take it the wrong way but definitely was very friendly to our 10 yr old daughter and even was showing her how to do a proper handshake etc. Our drinks we got were a strawberry rhubarb wheat ale (which was amazing) A coconut porter which as advertised was very coconut forward but definitely hit my mood well. Finally a hazelnut stout with a deep nutty flavor that I found very comforting. Beer was definitely very well made and I was impressed. Food we got the special chicken brie sandwich which was incredible. Thick pieces of chicken well balanced with all ingredients. A French onion soup which was very well done. Much deeper in flavor than your average for BC. The chef obviously is very talented. A Caprese Flatbread with balsamic reduction. This was pretty well balanced in flavor and taste. I was surprised seeing something like this made so well! Only critique was the bread wasnt as crispy as we would have liked. Made it slightly akward to pick up. Finally I got the Reuben sandwich which I am a frequent enjoyed of. Usually the main issues I find with Reubens werent present here. The bread was still structurally sound and the mustard was spicy for once (most restaurants are afraid of good Dijon) Oddly the meat was lacking a bit in flavor which is rarely my issue. I would say it was good not great. All in all the food was pretty incredible especially for a brewery. Now the little things that I believe would take this place up to a 5* place. Advertise what you have at your disposal. The boozy slushy is an awesome idea BUT theres no where advertised that they add the alcohol to it later. Advertise a kid friendly non-alcoholic slushy from kids to designated drivers and people that obstain from alcohol this is a huge boon to inclusiveness. In general I known its a Thursday afternoon but the first 3 things we tries to order werent in stock which is unusual (but yes its a brewery this included above mentioned slushy because they didnt have alcohol for it. Like I said, I think this place is a pretty cool brewery with just a few tweaks could really bring it up a bit for a wider range of clients. I am kind of in a 3.5 Star range which is rare for me. Hard to think 3 or 4 but I feel like a few things just weigh on my mind and Id love to see them lean into what they have going on for them. Vegetarian options: Decent amount that was vegetarian friendly. Pretty impressive menu for a brewery. Kid-friendliness: Id give it a medium rating for this. Its a brewery so what do you expect. They have a wall of pictures for dogs that have been into the brewery which is a really cool feature. Funny enough they have a lot more possible kid-friendly and non alcohol options than it appears. Great night out with live entertainment!
First time here and we were so impressed. The beer is delicious and the food is absolutely amazing. We ordered the spinach dip first, the bread was so fresh and garlic buttery goodness, and there was definitely more dip than bread, which is a rarity. Then we had burgers and nachos, and everything was so fresh, homemade burgers, nachos covered in deliciousness. Only one server for the whole place, and she handled the whole place by herself really well. Would definitely recommend!
The peach seltzer that I had was fresh and crisp, and my husband enjoyed his hazy. We ordered the pulled pork nachos, which were delightful. They werent overloaded with product. The dish had just the right amount of everything so you could enjoy all the flavors. The establishment is clean, and Roberta is an amazing friendly waitress. Great place to hang out....and its dog friendly.
Great spot! Beers and food were great!
Awesome spot! Lovely staff, great drinks & food & love being able to bring our dogs with us x
Two words Dog Friendly Both inside and outside! Very good beer selection and great food to boot! Staff are super friendly and they have a great lineup of entertainment on a weekly basis!
Really amazing lunch yesterday. Service was great. Best Caprese salad in town!!!
This place is amazing, if you hate loud and crowded come here and kick back and relax, food and drink and atmosphere are all off the charts. The owner is a gem to the local community. I felt like family during my first visit, you cant find this hospitality in many places.
Went for beer and nachos with a friend, and my dog. Beer was awesome and the nachos were good. I love they are pet friendly even inside not just on the patio. Will absolutely return and fully recommend
Limited menu great beer selection
I have always loved highway 97 and with the Location I am beyond happy. Dog friendly environment And Great beer :) Great location Way to go highway 97 well done :) Everyone should come check it out.
New location is a game changer. Amazing atmosphere, great beer, a nice selection on non -beer wines and cider. Had the wings twice now, excellent baked wings. Thumbs up, great job on the new space!
Great food, vibe and an awesome selection of beer. Really friendly staff with hands on owners.
The team at Hwy 97 have nailed it! Absolutely amazing food.. beer has always been great! And super chill atmosphere! Plus a great selection of Okanagan vino!!
Great beer. Good prices. Good food.
Their new place is da bomb and their beer has always been extra delicious. Their salted chocolate porter is one of my all-time faves
Passports not scanned at door, just glanced at, was told they didnt need to be scanned and one of our waitress had a dislike for her mask ..on...off. Tried three types of ales, two I liked, one I didnt. Wont go here again until the Covid restrictions are lifted.
Nice brewery, new location good. Did not like the fact they were out of a lot of beers when we were there so our flight was 4 out of 6 you could choose from :( We each had a gourmet dog, I had the smokin Okanagan & my husband had the Cuban. Mine was tasty but my husbands was very bland, I mean they had everything in it that it said on the menu ( dog with pickle, swiss chees, ham & mayo) but I would have added some mustard to give it some kick. Also, $12.95 seemed a bit pricey for what we got for our meal (small hot dog with potato salad). Overall good service. Will we come back? Maybe just for the beers ( to try our the ones they were out of stock of) .
Great new digs!
Cool vibe , friendly service and good beer . Whats not to like.
Excellent quality beer, from primary selection to rotational/seasonals. The flavours focus on the beer type with unoffensive undertones that come through and still make them unique. Very friendly staff. Affordable growler fills. One of my go tos when in Penticton.
Excellent new location. Tasty food and even tastier beers!! Great service and such a cool place to chill and enjoy a flight. Love it.
The Pilsner out of a can tastes like homebrew
Great beer, great new room, dog friendly and a menu worth eating!
Great beer
Waiter picked our flights. Great job. Food was a good price
We had an amazing time last night at Hwy 97 Brewery. A huge thanks to John and Nick for the terrific hospitality. The only thing better than the beer at Hwy 97 is the people. Hope to see you all again soon ....13 Broken Bones Band
Youll like this place is you enjoy beer that tastes like pepperoni bites soaked in lighter fluid.
A great selection of beer with good service, lots of seating and a variety of food options.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff
Great beer, good food. Short experience, will have to visit again, but no reason to hold back a 5 star review
Good atmosphere and prices. We came in for the charcuterie board on a Saturday but was told they did not serve them on Saturday. However, a table that knew the staff or owner was able to get one. Not happy and will not be returning.
If I could have rated zero, I would have. After waiting 40 minutes for food, it was slapped on our table and told we needed to move for a reservation they forgot about. No one offered to help us move, nor if we wanted another drink, and when I asked for my bill to leave I was told to wait. They didn t even offer us a table to move to. The beer isn t great, service was worse. Head across the street to the cannery, where service and beer is good.
The flight is very affordable at 7.98, the atmosphere is dog friendly and super chill, the wings are pretty amazing, the to-gos are at a reasonable price, also the server is very great! Hence the review, enough said
Great place for craft beer and loved their baked wings.
Great. New location. Patio is lovely, shaded and perfect.
Nice taproom, some decent beer and food
Went in walked up to the bar. Was a female pouring she did not acknowledge us. Then walked away. Great way to gain customers. I wont be back.
Great staff and tasty beer. Lots of variety with a great atmosphere.
The server was super awesome, wish I took the time to get her name, but by herself she took care of a motley crue. Ok my wife and I with friend. Unfortunately the food shipment was a week late but we enjoyed it all available
Great place to sit and enjoy some appies and drinks. Dogs are allowed on the patio and inside too! If you don t drink beer just be prepared for whatever they have (Diet Coke was the only option) and no coffee served either. Overall a good little spot to relax and eat.
Went in for the first time for a memorial show for a friend who passed. The first server seemed like she didnt want to be there, also $10.07 after tax for a beer!?!? Now dont get me wrong good sized pint but then i got to grab a 6pack of the same beer to go...$14? This to me kinda says we dont want people in here just take your beer and go. No coffee and you get an attitude when you ask for a water. Gave them a 3 but really deserves a 2 star, might not even be back for another show let alone to spend $60+ dollars on beer alone. Too bad guys...
Part of our trilogy tour, Friendly, knowledgeable staff with a excellent beer selection. HIGHLY recommend
This place has everything right. Good beer, good food, good service. The music is nice and not too loud. And a dog friendly patio!
Bandito lager & lime is perfect !
Cool brewery, good beer, amazing wings, and great service. Also dog friendly! Our server brought toys for our dog to play with while we finished our beers
Cozy and comfortable taproom with a view of several tanks. Very dog friendly location as noted in the other comments. There was a wall with photographs of dogs that had previously visited the establishment. The outside patio looks like it will be fun once the weather warms up. I tried a flight and enjoyed each of the selections. Definitely worth visiting again in the future.
Best brewery in Penticton!
Great for beer. They ran out of red wine for my wife. Who runs out of wine?
Great selection of beer, friendly server, and a casual laidback vibe. Kid and dog-friendly too.
97 didnt open when they said they would open on Sunday. Came back later in the day and the one employee is no where to be found and seems to be spaced out the entire time. Im extremely disappointed.
Excellent beer. Very cool that you are inside the brewery itself where the beer is made. Great atmosphere.
Website and phone message stated it opens at 12 however it opened at 1 pm- without sorry or any explanation. Small verity of beers.... Pies were burned when served. Person behind the bar- half asleep and gave no input about beers. We were disappointed- since weve been there before and liked it very much:( August 5, 2020
Friendly staff, decent brews. Cant wait to see the new location!
Fantastic beer and even though theyre not a restaurant the wings and pot pies are delicious.
Great service. Really good beer! Such a wonderful atmosphere!
The beer was alright but the place is quite small inside not many table. It would probably be better in the summer when you can sit outside
Great beer as always and a nice setting to hang out and enjoy the mellow atmosphere.
Had a great time talking to the Brewhouse host, wish I asked his name so I could post that. Good beer
Excellent beer and great people. Abels favorite place.
The Red IPA and chips and salsa were excellent, and the staff were very friendly, however at $8 +tax per pint Ill have to mull over a bit before a return visit.
My wife was just in your brewery, got great beer, great service and Lisa is awesome. Thanks for making our day!!!
Great people and beer! Something for any beer drinker
Got a couple flights, most beers were poured warm, a couple not even out of the tap but instead from unlabelled cans. Service took quite a while for how many people were working and they were completely unengaged.
Great beers and dog encouraged patio.
Awesome brewery, right off the main drag. Great beers and it s dog friendly which is a plus.
Great beer, friendly staff!
Walked in one day and the owner was the only one in the place. Ended up having a great chat with him (despite me being albertan lol) and tasting several of his beers. Glad that business is good! Keep up the great work!
The Fresh Fruit Hefe was AMAZING! The wings were squishy and just average. Good hot sauce though.
Excellent beer and selection as well. The environment in the brewery is solid.
Nice variety of beers and nice people
Great Brews! Funky interior! If you like Craft beer its a must stop!
Stopped in after beer fest of ales . guy was nice .beer is good . dont have much of a food menu
What a gem! This brewery is great and the ambiance is so welcoming. And Doggies are also welcome!!!!!
* STELLAR BEER * When The Wife and I R In Town We Make It A Point 2 Stop By This Place. Gr8 Atmosphere With Friendly Knowledgeable Staff. We Always Have Some Growlers Filled. The Wife Likes The Vanilla Blonde and the Hefeweizen, Were I Prefer The Hefeweizen and the Porter.
Amazing beer and friendly staff !
Such a great selection! I really enjoyed the Scottish Peated Ale.
After visiting 3 breweries in total, this was our favorite !
Friendly staff, great beer and dog friendly!
Im stuck in walking mode...not happy
Good beers & nice staff
Very friendly staff and good beer. Nice tap room where you sit right above all the action. Very dog friendly too!
Awesome place! Stoped for some good beer and had some amazing samosas. Brought the dogs as well it was great. Will be back next time I m in the area.
Get the extra special bitter! You wont regret it. Great beer and a fun friendly atmosphere.
Fantastic craft beer, we had a great time sampling beer and hanging out with the owners (we even brought our little dog!) - cant wait to go back!! Thanks John and Jennifer!
Came here part of a tour with Kelowna Concierge. This was the last stop of our Brewery tour. This is a smaller location, and is simply a brewery, no fancy restaurants or views. However they had good beer, and a friendly personality. There was a viewing section of some of the equipment as well, and although the brew-master wasnt in that day, did their best to give us more details on the brewing process. A great way to end the tour, and the location had friendly service.
All of their beers were very well done, but the Stout was a showstopper. I will gladly be back soon :)
Fantastic beer and great merch
Nice atmosphere. Outside patio could use a table for the beer but the great beer made up for it.
Great little Brewery! These guys are doing it right. All their beers are solid! Enjoyed the time on their patio, will definitely be returning :) Thanks for the beers guys
Top shelf new entry to the BC Craft Beer scene. The Isley Scotch Ale was remarkable with true peaty smokiness and a dry finish. Beer lovers will certainly plan a return trip!
Stopped in to fill a Growler or two. Finally we found a Craft Beer my wife enjoyed, that being the Apricot Hefeweizen. I bought the ESB. The Islay Scotch Ale was BLOODY AMAZING!!!! I made an attempt to find out which distillery that the malt was made for but could not get a firm answer. No matter. Smokiest Scotch Ale I have experienced. Truly robust flavour. I would guess Laphroiag malt. 35 C degrees outside might be a little too warm for such a big taste, but I am really looking forward to trying it again when when the seasons cool off. Definitely a savouring Ale. Solid lineup of beers with a broad spectrum of flavour profiles. A newer brewery with a great future. Neat fact. They are in the same building that has housed Cannery and Tin Whistle.
Very nice tasting room with that surrounds the brewing equipment. Beer was good. Great location right off the highway
Great vibes and good beer
Stopped by but the place was closed. Lucky for me the owner was there and although closed he invited me in to sample their brew and show me around. This is a small brewery producing some fine beer.
Islay Scotch Ale excellent and previous reviewer noted. The Vanilla Blonde is good too. Friendly place well worth visiting although you take your life in your hands crossing highway 97 at busy times!
