Theo’s Restaurant in Penticton

Unfortunately not what it used to be. I used to love eating the rack of lamb, it was very tough for that price that is being asked. I know it is hard to continue such a business after its long history. We have been a couple of times since new ownership, atmosphere is fantastic as always, but it would be great to see the old food quality.

Could you be more expensive?

Theo s is always great! For starters, you can t beat the atmosphere. It s like walking into a fairytale. The food is consistent and delicious. Shoutout to Haley for her hospitable service!

This was my first takeout order from Theos and it was fabulous. I made a few preference requests, the hostess was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and happily accommodated my requests. The staff were welcoming, and my order was ready when I arrived. All of the food was exactly how I ordered it, it remained hot on my 4 min walk home in -1, and it tastes amazing. Thank you.

The foods good here, but the older lady that works here is not friendly, as others have mentioned. It was the first visit to Penticton with my wife, and it turned us off the place, even though the interior design is fantastic. Weve since moved here and enjoy the food, AND ESPECIALLY SERVICE, at La Casa Ouzeria much more. If youre going to be in the service industry, youd better come to work prepared to SERVE. Especially with the tips we have to leave these days!!

What a lovely evening we had in Theoz. The menu was broad and varied. We particularly enjoyed being able to indulge in NZ lamb, and I loved my rabbit dish. The room was, at times, a little smoky from the warm fire which was uncomfortable. However, this did not detract from the vibrant and interesting environment - this restaurant has fabulous facilities and comfortable seating.

We had an outstanding meal & service in the most cozy of places, not only did it smell like a warm fireplace was burning somewhere-the server was lovely & knew what she was serving was going to be top notch. I typically eat here, but never had done take out. The food and drinks are always amazing, the atmosphere and service is always awesome too! Unfortunately, I ordered for take out. I got a Greek Salad, with Chicken and Pita and Hummus. This was almost $60 which was insane! The chicken was $8 and they gave me literally four toonie size pieces. Kind of makes me sad, I know for sure if I was there in person, it would have been a skewer

Staff are fantastic, ambiance is excellent, even had a belly dancer. Food is out of the world delicious.

Wouldn t think so from the outside but inside is super cute with a great atmosphere. Came for lunch and had the chicken souvlaki - so good. Prices are a little higher than expected. But will definitely come back next time I m in town and try more dishes!

A very interesting and eclectic restaurant with great food and good service. It was quite expensive but worth the cost.

Ordered the braised lamb shoulder. The lamb was amazing and the white wine sauce was even better. The sides (rice, potatoes, carrots) and drinks were just okay though. Our waitress and service overall was wonderful. They had a belly dancer there though that was too in your face and she danced and rang her bells in the ears of every person there, whether they wanted her to or not. The music was absolutely cranked up in the sections she danced in. Would have appreciated it more if she danced in the aisles and not literally 2 inches from my face. It was waaay too loud and invasive.

Amazing food!!

When you walk into Theo s, you are automatically transformed into a different country. This Greek restaurant is one you should check out, the prices on food and drink are reasonable and the food tastes authentic. The decor gives you European vibes, like entering a Greek village and stumbling across a cozy out of the way family restaurant that s literally in Penticton s backyard.

Went there for our 25th and it was wonderful! Excellent staff and a warm owner. Delicious food. Fab atmosphere and entertainment. And I even got a game of post dinner backgammon in! What a surprise (And yes, I won!). The whole night felt very special.

Food, service, and the place were very good. You will feel like you are eating in a house in Greece. We liked Calamari. Vegetarian options: Meze plate was fully vegetarian friendly and delicious.

The service was great they were very accommodating and kind throughout:) I do wish that the food was priced better. For the lamb soulvaki it didnt come with pita or greek salad. Also: The lamb cam rare when I asked for medium! Ive never had any place miss those items. Especially since this place was priced at a higher than what I pay for in other places. Conclusion: The atmosphere and service were a 10/10 just the food needs to have abit more quality and variety to it for the prices paid.

So far the best experience in a restaurant here in Canada, the layout and atmosphere brought me back to Greece and, inside that building, I felt as if I was In another country. The food is amazing , real greek food, and the people working there are wonderful. Worth any cent to eat here.

Great espresso martini

Was looking forward to mousakka. Unfortunately it was made with beef instead of the traditional lamb. Big disappointment. Huge letdown.

We celebrated 2 Anniversaries last Friday night. Our service was outstanding from beginning to end. We were seated promptly as we had reservations and drinks were brought in a timely fashion. Cheers to the bubbly! The food was delicious We shared a greek salad for starters. I had Lamb souvlaki, cooked perfectly. The accompanying rice, potatoes & carrots excellent. No mushy carrots! So many restaurants over cook the veggies. My hubby had the chicken souvlaki thoroughly enjoy. My only suggestion have 1 piece of pita bread included with the meal. The atmosphere was fun and friendly, with a fabulous belly dancer. Thank you all for making our Anniversaries special. We will most definitely come back to Thoes on our return visit. Cheers, Carolyn

Beautiful authentic restaurant. We used to go here in the late 90s. Still good food although service was mediocre by our waitress.

We were looking forward to great food & dining experience, from hearing about years ago how great it was, but our food came out so fast it was like pre made & sitting under heat lamp, ribs & salmon were dry, vegetables barely warm & did not seem fresh made, salad was not usual Greek flavor, the Caesar drink tasted mostly of worcestershire sauce couldnt drink it & for the expense very disappointing

We were travelling from the Coast and were looking for a nice place for dinner. Theo s was a terrific surprise - excellent, authentic Greek food. Better than anything in the lower mainland. Our waitress gave us great service and accommodate all of our requests, such as souvlaki without the sides. The tables were nicely spaced, and the music was perfect for a quiet dinner out.

Came here from out of town as it was recommended to us. This place did not disappoint! We had the seafood platter for 2 and the saganaki. So delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. Raved about take out from Theo s in April. Ordered several times since and each time the food has been absolutely delicious with generous portions. If you haven t tried Theo s in a while, give them a try.

Come every year when I come home.This time had most my family join for a family get together.shared the theos platter and my son had steak. All of it was as I remember great ,quality and quantity.Thanks again !

There were three of us in our group and we ordered two meals + 2 appetizers and we asked for it all to come on one platter. The wait staff and the kitchen were happy to accommodate this request! The food was delicious exactly how Greek food should be and perfectly spiced. This is our favourite place to eat when we visit Penticton.

Food & service was excellent! Beware! Menu on here is outdated. You do not get 4 lamb chops with the lamb chop entree. It is now done by weight, which I totally understand. My mom & I split the meal because we figured we would get 2 chops each. No big deal but something to note. If I knew how to get Google to remove the old pictures, I would pursue that.

Went to celebrate my Birthday. We sat upstairs under a ceiling fan which wasn t working. The owner mentioned it was 50 years old so you may want to consider replacing it if your going to seat your patrons upstairs on a sweltering hot day. Food was very average. Ordered the rack of lamb medium and when it was served to me it was quite rare and didn t have the heart to send it back! Potatoes were hard, rice was tasteless and carrots were overdone. Not the same Theos since change of ownership. Save your money and go elsewhere!!

I was with a friend and 4 local friends at your restaurant and have been there previously. However this day the service was so slow. Our drink order was wrong, after ordering the waitress came back(15 minutes later and asked us what 2 of the dishes were that we ordered. Then our drinks came and 1 was completely Wrong. Appetizer came right away. Than we waited 1 and 3/4 of an hour for our main dish. Unacceptable! No pita, no salad, no service. Wow not like I remembered this place.

I went to Greek restaurants a lot because my food culture is similar to this type of food. Based on the price and size of the food, the quality of the food was extremely low and the price was unbelievable. I do not recommend this restaurant at all.

Came here a few years ago and visit recently again. While the food quality may have gone down a tad, it was still an awesome meal. The server was very friendly and made sure were well taken care of. Theo s atmosphere is truly traditional and authentic which makes you think you re sitting in someone s home in the Mediterranean. Good food and good service - definitely recommended!

Fantastic dinner again here. The food was delicious, service was great and one dollar corking fee on the wine we brought.

Our party of 4 could find nothing positive to say about our dinner here. And this is a more than fair review. Come on guys take a good look at the food, service and atmosphere. Time to tighten things up. Get some flavour in that food and stop killing the proteins. Take a meal at Yama s in Kelowna and see what great Greek food should taste less ke.

If you are in the area, Theos is a MUST GO, and ask for Nadine!! I have celiac and their menu did not disappoint. I had so many options to choose from, I needed extra time. We started with the calamari, ordered the oysters and lamb shoulder platters. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. Nadine is amazing: her cheerful personality, her knowledge of the menu, and the history of the house was spot on! Spend some time reading the captions under the pictures. Best experience ever!! The food had a strange smell, but I wasnt sure what it was, but it didnt suit my taste.

I wish I could rate this restaurant better as I WAS enjoying my time and food there, but the waiter that was serving us couldn t make our experience worse. All the joy from the lovely atmosphere disappeared immediately by waiters lack of professionalism and respect. I am definitely going to get a rude, unfriendly and unprofessional reply on this comment by the owner of the restaurant as all the low rating reviews got so far, but It s the experience that stays with people. You can improve your business by listening to the feedbacks, or ignore it and watch the consequences unfold sooner or later.

Stopped in for appies last night and ended up having another great meal. Our standard order is the hot appie platter, tri-dip, saganaki and uvetsi and pita. Oh, and always paired with Fix, a delicious Greek beer. Can t beat it. Give it a try!!

Great food and service by Hailie. The owner Greg visited our table to check on service during a busy lunch rush. The patio seating under the grape vines is amazing. We also loved the cozy rooms inside the restaurant. Our go to stop when heading to the interior.

Had my 75 th birthday here. We come to Penticton every year from Vancouver so know the restaurant well. Have been coming to Theos for nearly 30 years. Food was great. Excellent portions. Its a truly beautiful restaurant. Sadly we were appalled with the way people were dressed. Shorts and t-shirts with flip flops for men and women. Its a classy restaurant there should be a bit of a dress code. Our server wasnt anything special, therefore neither was my birthday. I certainly did not feel special. No effort whatsoever was made for me to feel special. Would I go back? No. Too expensive.

This is as authentic as it gets for Greek food. We were in Crete and Paros in 2022 and this felt like a slice of that in Penticton. Awesome server, great menu, and delightful food. 5/5

A group of seven was accommodated within 15 minutes of calling. Our server David was prompt and polite and always there at the right time. He had excellent suggestions for the meals. I had the rabbit with spanakopita to start. It was excellent. Great choice for an evening out with friends. Dietary restrictions: My wife is coeliac and they were able to accommodate her dietary needs.

EDIT: NO, this was not written for another restaurant, this was written for yours. And there are a LOT of negative reviews in recently so that definitely says something. All the food we had there were so mediocre (and some undercooked) for their crazy price tags. Instead of being reluctant to the bad reviews, maybe you guys need to do something with your dishes. -- Food is outrageously overpriced for its taste everything was super bland. I ordered their signature dish Lamb Shoulder Oregano and I only tasted the lamb. It comes with a broth and it just tastes like liquified lamb. Vegetables were not cooked enough. I think potato was the most flavourful in that dish. I guess the highlight of the lamb is that it was really soft? But that s about it, which is not worth $40. Atmosphere is really nice. They decorated the place really well. Service was not good. We needed extra cutlery and the bill but the server was never around. We had to ask another server to get our server. But she may have been the owner so maybe that s why. Other servers seemed really nice. Overall, I would only go there for the atmosphere and if you want to take pretty pictures. Just have no expectations to the taste.

Authentic Greek cuisine, the lamb chops will melt in your mouth, just make sure to pair it with a glass of local Pinot Noir. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and has been run by the same family since 1976.

We ordered the mezze platter, braised lamb and the prawns in tomato sauce. The prawns were less memorable but the lamb and hummus were five stars. The atmosphere/decor is alone worth a visit.

Took friends to Theos last night I was telling them how great it was. Actually it was not up to par. Did it change owners or chefs? Lamb souvlaki was way over cooked tough and cold along with the rice. We were really disappointed. The best part was the humous and dessert. Food : 1/5

I just cant say enough great things about Theoz. We have been coming here for years when we visit from out of town. Its our go to place for family dinner. We always get a Theos platter for 2 and always have so much leftovers. The presentation and delivery of the food is exquisite! The service is also incredible! We had Kimberly for our table of 15 and she made each of us feel special and was so attentive! Thanks Theoz for another memorable night out with family. I really wish they had souvenirs of their candlestick holders as I would have bought a couple for sure! Delicious food and beautiful cozy place

Good quality food. Visited with a group of 6 people and everyone enjoyed the food and found it significantly better than other Greek places that tried before.

A few years back on a warm summer dusk, roses and mathiola on the gentle breeze, and we were walking downtown after a day of much driving scenery. And we were starved. It was 10:30pm and the owner and three friends were visiting around a table out front, and the place empty. We turned around to go out after noticing the 10pm closing time. He waved us back in and i don t remember what she had, but i had the best T-bone steak that I ve ever had in the valley. We shared some yam fries, which was likewise the best ever. Crisp and tender, the steak and the fries. The big difference was that it was a quality cut of meat that hadn t been stripped of its juiciness and flavour, and of course having it arrive at the table sizzling. That was a beautiful day and a sweet evening. Only been back once since, lunch, still good. Might try that again this summer

We love this place. My family grew up in Penticton and Theos has been a staple for ages. I return to visit town a few times each year - and a family dinner at Theos is MUST on each trip. Dietary restrictions: plenty of gluten free options

My family ate here for my dad s 75th birthday and everything was perfect. Amazing food, more than we could have imagined. (But it was a great lunch the next day) Good wine, beer and birthday treats. Thank you Greg & friends for taking such good care of us :)

Excellent service, food, experience. The friendliest and best Greek food, was worth the drive from West Kelowna. Parking: On street parking, free after 6 pm currently. Kid-friendliness: Very friendly, lots of space open area. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp into restaurant and seating at tables.

This is a phenomenal establishment. Nearly 5 decades of care and attention have grown Theos into a unique dining experience. Every square foot of the interior is filled with beautiful, authentic Greek/Mediterranean decor. Most other ethnic restaurants are going for an exotic feeling experience - Theos IS an exotic experience. Absolutely breathtaking. You have to see it to understand, pictures are great, but they simply cant do it justice. The food was excellent. We were about 55 a person for drinks, appetizers, and dinner, which is entirely acceptable. If you want to skip the drinks and appies, youll be 30-40 a meal - the portions are large, the quality is outstanding, and the ingredients are clearly top-shelf. The owner and the staff made us feel very welcome. We got a chance to speak with the owner for a few moments, and he told us about the rich history of the restaurant, which made the experience even better. You should definitely go (get the saganaki, its killer). Youd be hard pressed to find another dining experience of this quality for this price. My only complaint is that I dont live in Penticton, so I will not be dining here again for the foreseeable future.

As soon as I walked in I felt at home, there s a lovely table for two up on the balcony that is meant for lovers, we were served by an amazing young lady who made the experience even more enjoyable. We had the lamb player for two with a lovely red wine and I couldn t say enough about everything except this is my newest favourite place to eat and highly recommend it to anyone in the area. They had a warm fire going in the fireplace with tables beside it for that extra ambiance Thank you to everyone there for making this an enjoyable evening You re all the best

All we wanted was sauce. Tzatziki, béchamel or whatever. Never thought our night would end up arguing with the owner. Service was stellar. Thank you Hailey. I ve never in all my years of service seen an owner or a manager be so disrespectful to guests and staff. The whole dining room saw your crazy. There s nothing I can do because you must be racist towards Greeks. All we wanted was for him to leave us alone. Point proven. Can t leave us alone. Abusive behaviour.

The food was incredible as was the atmosphere. Unfortunately, we witnessed a very disappointing encounter between the owner of the restaurant and a young man who clearly had a development disability. This young man came in asking for a bag to carry his things because he was very worried about making it home before dark (he was obviously nervous and yet very polite). The owner was so incredibly rude and hostile to this young man. It was pretty disheartening to see. The owner all but threw the poor fellow out. I didnt see any compassion or patience from the Theos staff and for that reason I will likely not be back.

Very classy place. A quality choice for a night out. Prices are not outrageous, I had a great time. Food was delicious. place is really beautiful. The location is great. We came around new years eve and had a really nice time. The servers are very considerate and efficient. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I plan on coming here again. I personally recommend the calamari and the sangria.

This Okanagan Greek Food experience is a must. The ambience is inviting, elegant & yet cozy. The service is outstanding, the food delish with the real wood fire place giving a familiar scent & a warmth that takes off the coolness of the winter. Ordered food a few nights before which was delivered to a friend who also enjoyed the ribs & chicken soulvaki. The tiramisu is a delicious. Whether a table for two, family dinner out, staff dinner or wedding reception this is the perfect place for it. Many different options for groups with well over 200 seats available. Or if you want delivery they have you covered too.

Second time here while staying in town in the last two months. We went back instead of trying another restaurant because we had such a great experience the first time. Souvlaki dinner was on sale again, the dolmades and spanikopita appetizers were excellent and they have a crazy $1 corkage fee for bring your own wine on Tuesday and Wednesday nights. Theos will be on our to do list next tome in town for sure!!

Me and my wife came here on our 5 year anniversary. after la casa gave away our table that we reserved 2 weeks in advance we were extremely dissapointed we called theos and it was pretty late one a friday night so we werent expecting anything to be availible. but we got a nice table by the fire. service was great. food was amazing. will definitely come back.

Quite an experience dining here

Good friendly service great atmosphere but the food is sub par and way over priced. Ordered the lamb which was ok a bit dry only get one small kabob a baked patato that looked a week old and was re heated in the microwave supposed to come with vegetables turned out to be undercooked carrots. Very small portions way over priced for what you get

I wasnt impressed with the food, the carrots were raw and the 1/2 a potato was so dark I thought it had the skin on it. Our dinners had no greek salad which has always been a standard at any other greek resturants we have been to. We were used to having a basket of pita bread and tzatsiki brought to the table while we wait for our dinner but we had to order the bread and tzatsiki as appetizers which came with only one piece of pita each. We had to order 2 extra as there were 4 of us for dinner. Our server was lovely and the restaurant was what youd expect in a greek restaurant but as far as the food, we wont be back

Food was good, but overpriced. Service was ok. The waitress wasnt too too friendly, just ok. She brought us the bill and then left and sat with some friends at another table. Beautiful decoration.

We arrived to the restaurant 45 minutes before they were closed, and they told us that they wont be accepting us because the kitchen is already closed. Maybe change your google hours, or add a note google saying what time you will be closing the kitchen so your customers dont have to travel only to be told they cant eat in or take out the food at a certain time. Never coming back here again!

This restaurant used to be a favourite of my grandmother but has since changed. The food was okay, but nothing special. Server forgot several of the items we ordered but left it on our bill. The price to quantity ratio is way off what it used to be. Needless to say, it s lost its appeal. The experience was ok overall.

If your in Pentictan and want some Greek Food. This is the only place you should go. PS. Call ahead and when you reserve a spot reserve the Rabbit dish. Its mind blowing as is the Lamb Sholder. They also have a flaming cheese appy that is spectacular. Frig I suspect anything you order here is good.

We eat here every time we come to Penticton. The food is absolutely delicious and the best part is that we always feel like we are having dinner at Theos home. Service is great and we love looking and reading about the business history that is placed all around the restaurant. 100% recommend. We always go back here.

A very charming restaurant with good food, great drinks and wonderful atmosphere. I got the Kalamari Dinner and I was expecting the squid to have some chew but theirs is incredibly light and airy. The piña colada was also very tasty. The zucchini was nicely roasted, the rice was fairly plain, but the potato was a bit tough. And unfortunately the tzatziki wasn t the most flavourful. They also had live entertainment, a Mediterranean belly dancer who was lovely to interact with.

Theos has been our groups go to everyyear when we holiday in Penticton. We as a group were somewhat disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food this year. My lamb Souvlakia had 1 skewr, small quantity of vegetables, and undercooked rice. Its likely off our list of Penticton restaurants.

Food was really good but the portions I felt like were very small for the price VS what I m used to at my local Greek place where the food is just as comparable. Maybe it s because Penticton is a vacation town and those were tourist prices. If it s dinner time they have a dancer going around it was quite entertaining.

I m really not the type of person to write reviews. I really did have high hopes just from the SUPER lovely atmosphere upon walking in. I absolutely loved that part of this place. I put in an order over the phone. I just wanted a chicken skewer and salad, with a side of lemon potatoes. When I got in to pay and pickup, I was super confused by the super pricy (for what I got) bill. $20 for a skewer of chicken? I m thinking, okay, it is probably going to be the best chicken skewer of my life then... Spoiler, it wasn t. And again, I m not the type of person to spend time writing reviews like this. But damn, if you re gonna charge $20 for one chicken skewer, it better be the best chicken skewer of my days. For $20, I want to dream about this chicken skewer for the rest of my life. I want it to wreck future chicken skewers for me, as I will always compare it to yours. I want to salivate at the thought of reuniting my gullet with this succulent meat stick. Instead here I sit, unsatisfied and out $$$ for a meal I couldve made better at home. I wanted to love you Theo, I really did. I think your prices are pretty standard for nice Greek restaurants, but definitely in need more flavour. Also a heads up from the waitress that a chicken skewer on its own is $20 wouldve been nice too, and maybe try to upsell me on the entire chicken souvlaki meal instead for $26 so I don t feel entirely ripped off.

We had great time again. Excellent food. The staff is very friendly and helpful with top notch service. I love the Retsina they have, its a bit of a stronger flavor than dinner others but thats what I like with Greek food. Definitely worth stopping by for a snack or dinner.

Came from Osoyoos today..stopped by Theos (been there twice( live in East Kelowna)LOVED THST PLACE..today heading to kelowna from osoyoos I stopped by. Ordered 3 lamb souvlaki dinners,1 chicken souvlaki dinner and EIGHT pieces of pita..my grandkids only eat that. Got it to go n took off home to kelowna..looking so forward! Yum Paid about $160.00 Opened out bags..NO PITA BREAD..AHHHHH..kids were devastated..nasty scene..tears..snot..the whole 9 yards..disappointment overload.. Called to tell manager..he saidhe was busy ..I said to ask him to call when he wasnt busy..HE DID NOT BOTHER TO CALL ME BACK...IM REALLY PIS#ED AND EACH DINNER HAD LIKE 3 SMALL TLSP OF RICE..USED TO BE SO MUCH MORE BUMMER..BAD SERVICE NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL LMH

The food was great, our server was nice, but you have to let people know when there s auto-gratuity on the bill! Not fair to the customer for them to tip you (well) when the tip is included. Kinda ruined the experience, I feel a bit taken advantage of!

Wonderful evening visiting one of my favorite restaurants in Penticton. This restaurant truly takes you away to what feels like Greece. The atmosphere, music, greenery, you need to see it for yourself! My favorite is the oregano lamb shoulder with saganaki. However, the saganaki here is made with brandy and we found it to be quite strong in taste. You can request saganaki to be made without the alcohol, which we found to be much more pleasant! Dietary restrictions: Many gluten free options on the menu!

I went here for my birthday with a friend and her daughters as this restaurant came highly recommended for Greek Food in Penticton. We received great service with our waitress, but sadly our food was not good, it honestly tasted like it was made a few days before and reheated, I am sure it was not but it did taste like it was. We also ordered a jug of sangria and it tasted like juice was added to a bit of red wine. The restaurant is beautiful and staff is very nice, but the food just did not do it for me.

Amazing atmosphere and energy. The food was great, more than great. I tried their Lagos Spifado (Rabbit stew), and it was delicious. Gf had the calamari dinner, also amazing. Owner gave a demonstration of the tradition of breaking plates. A wonderful experience!!

We LOVE this place!! Every time we are in or around Penticton, we need to eat here! The food is fantastic, the staff are super friendly, and the service is quick! I would recommend to anyone is the area looking for some great Greek food!

Theos is a beautiful restaurant in downtown Penticton. It used to be a favorite place for me to go. This time I went the service was okay, food was not as good as it usually is, and the drinks tasted watered down. I will be trying out another location next time I am looking to get some Greek food.

The beet salad is really really good; might be all-time I had chicken souvlaki and it showed up without rice and looking like someone took a bite out of it (the only part I really wanted was rice). I was informed the rice was undercooked and a new batch would be out in 5 5 mins later I was informed that the boss says it doesn t make sense to make new rice as things are dying down (8pm?) so my $30 chicken souvlaki couldn t offset $1 rice??? The waitress gave up at this point; she knew failing in rice, the presentation, was unacceptable. Other signs of greedflation included only 1 piece of onion and 1 piece of green pepper on my kabab (Safeway is 3x value for 1/3 the price) Overall, this place was cutting corners and skimpin across the board - I dunno if penticton has Opa, but they re better value fosho. 2/5 - Below average (2.5), tasted ok; overpriced; poor service. I could see this place being good; just not last night +1 star for the reply - the owner s replies are solid gold. And we got 10% not a cooked meal. Im sure this place is good on any other day :)

We got the calamari and beef slovaki. It cost way to much 70$ for one small stick of beef and half a potato and some veggies. Calamari was mushy, however we did get take out. That being said we are it within a few minutes of getting it. Seemed way over priced for such a small portion and not great food

We went out for dinner with my 99 year old grandma who has trouble chewing. Our server Tim was so great and actually got the vegetable soup blended for her so it was easier for her to eat it. Thanks Tim, you made the evening really nice for us! And thank you to the kitchen for making some of the best food Ive had in a while!

As visitors to Penticton we loved this place! We felt special the moment we walked in the door.

I had a very disappointing experience here. $28 dollar meal. I got 1/3 of a potato, about 3 vegetables and small cubes of lamb on a skewer 4 out of the 6 cubes were undercooked. I asked for the lamb to be cooked medium. The outer two pieces of lamb were edible, they were medium rare at best. The remaining 4 were not cooked. I left them on the plate. I hit Wendy s on the way home for a meal. The server was polite but clearly had too many tables. The poor food quality was not her fault nor was her ability to bring us drinks in an acceptable amount of time definitely will not go back and will share this experience with friends

Fabulous Greek restaurant that teleports you to Crete. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

The best Mediterranean food I have ever eaten, excellent quality, the portions are very generous, very well decorated, the service is very good and I would definitely return, (I recommend you try the Seafood Platter for Two and the Horiatiki) but everything is excellent. Congratulations. !!

Traveling in from St. Catharines, Ontario. (Niagara Falls area). Had an absolutely lovely experience. The food was so fresh and everything from the beeswax candle on our table, to the wood fire burning, lent to an experience you dont often find. We met the owner, Greg, who came out and shared a story with us when he caught me taking a photo of a portrait on the wall near our table, that just happened to be of him in younger days. An experience you dont want to miss. Authentic Greek food. Amazing. Going back as soon as we travel this way again and will recommend to anyone and everyone. Vegetarian options: Anyone could find something to enjoy here. Dietary restrictions: I am Celiac and had no difficulty ordering. Vegetarian and vegan options available. The food was mostly tasty but the basic potatoes and rice were dry and couldve used seasoning and butter.

I set up an anniversary dinner for my son and daughter-in-law. I ordered the meal, (appies, main, dessert and wine) paid for it by credit card, and delivered flowers for the table. Everything was handled beautifully even after it had to be pushed back by a week because of illness. The staff on the phone and in person that I delt with were great and the kids had a wonderful evening. Thank you all so much. As a side knote I had first approached another restaurant in town with this idea and they said they were unable to provide me with this kind of a service. Only suggesting that I purchase a gift card to give to them. Which is not at all what I wanted. I wanted exactly what Theos gave me. They walked in sat down and had the meals I ordered delivered. They never saw a menu or a bill. I wanted them to have a special evening and thats what they got.

I moved to Penticton recently and found a gem of a restaurant. The food was outstanding! My order is always the chicken soulvakl meal with avgolemono soup. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate with a subtle smell of wood smoke. I highly recommend you dine here.

Upon entering the restaurant you notice the smell of the wood fire, and are greeted with the quaint, cozy decor. Plenty of seating and much of it offers somewhat private areas. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was tasty, moist and cooked exactly as requested (proper medium rare). The only negatives are these: Entrées include rice, potato, steamed vegetable (in our case, carrots) and a tiny ramekin of Tzatziki. Extra Tzatziki is $1.50 for slightly more than a tablespoon. Greek salad is not included and the cost of a small side order of Greek salad is close to $13. We found the best is to cancel either rice or potato and pay the $3.50 up-charge for the Greek salad, as its the same sized serving as the $13 small side salad and is more than enough accompaniment for one or two diners. Prices are high. Much higher prices than comparable places which I frequent when elsewhere and significantly higher than the prices shown online on several menu sites (Theos doesnt appear to have their own website). 4 little lamb chops: $51+. Roast lamb dinner mid-$40s. They seem to have really jacked up the prices lately. Im likely going to return in the future, but I would visit Theos much more frequently if a small Greek salad was included with the roast lamb dinner (like most other Greek restaurants) and if the prices were a little more in touch with reality.

recently moved to penticton, i absolutely love this establishment. my food tasted amazing and even ordered seconds to take home. big thank you to staff for being so generous and helpful. Dietary restrictions: staff was very helpful with all my dietary restrictions and even helped me find alternative dishes on the menu.

For context we visited this restaurant back in 2018 and can still taste/dream about the rabbit stew we had here. That alone speaks volume. Just go!

Ive been back and forth from Toronto and in the Okanagan for business, I had gone to various places trying to find authentic Greek Restaurants and this place was heaven, I had ordered the Moussaka, roasted eggplant my favorite along with potatoes and zucchini plus plus....Now that I am back in Toronto and we have a large area in Greek Town and I was raving to my friends about this place and I will be back again in 24 on another project. Great to support local businesses.

Went there with my family. Wife and kids were happy with our meal. Waitress was nice and very accommodating however i wasnt impressed with the hostess. As our waitress was checking in with us the hostess felt the need to address the rules to our 5 year old about wearing masks while not at the table. Perhaps speaking to the adults rather than being condescending would be a better approach. If it were not for my wife i would have left. I know the covid mandates which encourages children 2 - 12 in a public setting to wear a mask. That being said in my personal opinion its ridiculous. At the time the restaurant was nearly empty. Apparently your restaurant is doing so well with take out that your dining in experience doesnt matter. Good luck with the lock downs. Just an update they support the vaccine passport. ITS AN EASY NO TO THEOS I wrote this review during covid and just now read the owners response. You are flat out lying to save face. Heres the facts : we entered with masks on. We were sat where we could see into the kitchen. The cook staff had masks on their ears but off their faces. The waitress and the hostess would drop their masks as they entered the kitchen so they could graze on food as they stood around. When the only other people who came to dine in while we were there your hostess sat them directly beside us. Theos restaurant is a large venu and the only reason the hostess sat them next to us was out of laziness! Our child had got up while we waited for our server to bring us the bill to go and look at the Christmas tree when the hostess came out of the kitchen pulling up her mask to address our child with sweetie when we stand up we must be wearing our mask . Our kid walked 5 over to the tree. It wouldnt have even been an issue if she hadnt sat the other people next to us. Anyways the only reason Im responding to your post is you are lying. We wore our masks. We just called out your patronizing hostess...who I can now assume must have been your wife.. Our child never said anything...also at the time he was too young to be slingy comments like you said. Shame on you for lying. Im disappointed with your response. From what Ive heard your food and service has not improved. Perhaps karma is proving itself to be real. Theos hasnt been the same since these people took over ownership. Dont waste your money people!

I don t think anything compares to Theo s in Penticton. This is the best and most authentic Greek food in the Okanagan with the most beautiful setting, outstanding service and cozy ambiance. Dined here in December of 2023 and sat by the wood-burning fireplace. Sitting there on the hearth brought with it a feeling of home, but with the happy feeling of being surrounded by other diners also enjoying their night out. Ordered a premium Greek wine to go with the Theo s Platter and definitely recommend the after-dinner digestif of warm brandy (can t remember the name) to end the meal. If you haven t been to Theo s, make your reservations!
