Feels like were in another country on vacation, small tapas but very deliciously crafted food and drinks.

I got to eat at Chulo yesterday at my husband s work party and all the food was outstanding! We sampled everything and honestly it was all delicious. Can t wait to go back.

Love this place. Every detail takes me straight to Spain. Amazing atmosphere, incredible staff, flavours you won t find in BC found right here. It s such a great little secret I almost don t want to review it and tell you to go because I want it all for myself.

Everything about Chulo is perfect. The atmosphere, staff, food, wine and cocktails all exceeded my expectations. Seriously delicious food!

A friend and I had a really nice meal at Chulo on the weekend. We sat in the very-newly-opened back lounge. Service was top notch, the food delicious and pricing totally decent given what we had and a bottle of wine.

What a pleasant surprise to happen upon this quaint little tapas bar! The service was super great and the place oozed such an unexpected cool vibe! Loved it! Ya gotta go. You will not be dissappointed.

Everything about Chulo Tapas & Bar was exceptional. The service was like being with good friends. The food was incredible (if we could have managed to eat it all, would have had everything on the menu), the atmosphere unpretentious, warm, and welcoming! We will go here every time we are in town! Thank you for a wonderful night.

Music was excellent but despite being such a small nook they almost could have used a second server. The food quality was unreal and everything was above expectations in taste. However the portions didn t make a whole lot of sense to me. Example 5 meatballs with 2 pieces of sliced garlic baguette was one of the tapas shared between myself and two others. Also there wasn t nearly enough baguette slices to have one anchovy per slice. Bread isn t even a thing that s particularity pricey so having a slice per item would make a bit more sense, or even a slice per person (though that could easily have been fixed as an up sell by the server) otherwise it was exceptionally tasty and had a nice atmosphere.

Love everything about this place. I go there often, always great. Love the food and that they regularly have special features. The cocktails are the best! Staff is friendly and all around awesome!!

Place was giving Nelson vibes a bit with its small size and somewhat random location. After a year of scoping it out I stopped by and tried a local craft beer and the morels on toast. Gave free samples to help decide between craft options. Was raining and they lifted the partition so I could be more covered while sitting outside. Lent me their phone when I needed to make an urgent and quick local call.

Superbly delicious and the service was friendly and professional. A really fantastic, cozy place that is tucked away just a few steps from busier spots.

We were in Penticton for a girls winery tour trip and this restaurant came recommended by friends. We were blown away. The food was amazing, the service friendly and informative, and the drinks were great. We did a mix of tapas including goat cheese with carmelized onions, potatos bravas, prawns, serano gremalata and queso fresco, white bean salad and spicy peppers, merguez sausage and the meatballs. Everything was top notch. Not only will I go back when in town next, i would have eaten there daily if we had the time.

Great food, service and drinks. Cant ask for much more than that really, highly recommend!

Fantastic atmosphere! Food is amazing. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Wine selection is wonderful and priced very well. Food is quick and delicious. Friday evening for after work unwind, we like to go here and grab quick bite, usually end up ordering more. highly recommended.

Chulo is an authentic, warm, pleasing, enticing, and satisfying restaurant. Tapas were excellent, nicely spiced. Portions are great for sharing, so we could try a lot. All delicious and fun. Nice menu variety, with interesting wines, reasonably priced. If you don t have time go to Tratto pizza around the corner and run by the same owner, who aims to please!

Walked by and had to stop in! A hidden gem in plain sight! Amazing from start to finish! Friendly staff, great atmosphere and fantastic food and drinks! Brett was amazinggggg!!! Will definitely be a stop on every trip here! Love love love it!!

Went here on NYE on a restaurant crawl with some friends. It was by far my favourite stop of the night. The food was delicious and the cocktails were outstanding. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The decor and atmosphere were really lovely. It had a very modern but comfortable vibe. And the prices were reasonable. I would definitely go here again! Vegetarian options: Good vegetarian options. Dietary restrictions: It s a small menu but we had a number of dietary restrictions in our party and everyone found something delicious that they enjoyed.

This place will be amazing. Had the privilege of a private chefs tasting and WOW! Im looking forward to the grand opening. Will definitely be putting this place on the circuit.

Disappointing. Tortilla was flavorless, octopus was over cooked and very chewy, croquettas were burnt.

A great addition to the food scene in Penticton. Cozy little spot right downtown with the friendliest and fun staff. Food and cocktails are both unbelievably good. The croquetas were out of this world. Bursting with flavour, I need to go back for more of them. Braised pork cheek and beans were divine. Perfectly blended delicious martinis with house made olive brine. Mixed cocktails had many layers and depth of flavour and are all made with fresh house made ingredients. Writing this makes me want to go back!

You must visit this super cool hole in the wall for an early evening or late night snack. Great vibes.

Nice little spot, nice cocktails, good service, portions are small, croquettas were mushy and watery on the inside, white anchovies were over-marinated extremely tart, Chorizo toast was good but the bread felt like it was from a grocery store. A nice place for a drink and maybe a snack but dont go hungry.

Nice cozy place that has good drinks and food. Its a great place to catch up with a few people. Staff was very attentive, cool atmosphere with a changing menu as seasonal ingredients are used for some items. In an area you would least expect it to be. A neat little hidden gem in Penticton.

Great place! Excellent cocktails. The Paella was amazing. Great atmosphere. Well definitely be back.

We went on a Monday for paella night. $40/person which includes a set menu of small bites, paella to share (we were 2 people) and a glass of wine or beer with your meal. The food is unique but good! We also ordered some croquetas after our meal just to try and they were very good. Small restaurant with limited seating. We had a couple cocktails while waiting for a table and ended up sitting outside on their patio at the bar. Servers were friendly and relatively attentive. A fun, different place in Penticton you should check out! Parking: Only a few spots right beside the building but you can do street parking and walk to them

Dont miss this if you have any inkling for tapas or like Spain. The real deal for sure, prices are good. A secret for now.

Very impressed with this place. The food is a good twist on Spanish dishes, from croquetas to jamon iberico to wonderful sardines. Overall, for dining, think small plates, tapas cocktails and wine. But there are also dishes evocative of British classics (instead of pork with crackling and apple sauce they have porcheta with fermented pears and chicheron) or Japanese (instead of toro on sesame with shizo leaves they have seared tuna on bread crisps with amaranth). The dishes were in flux when I dined and the the chef was testing off-menu dishes with a few of the diners and truly looking for critical feedback. He cares. And it shows. Speaking of drinks, the bartender was very inviting, recognized regulars and was great at building rapport and reading his guests (going so far as playing name that underground hip hop act from the 90s with the music playlist). Everyone was made welcome. They have about a half dozen cocktails on the menu, but the bartender was happy to mix drinks to order using the bottles they had. Dont expect a choice of twenty different whiskeys or gins, but do expect well wrought suggestions. Go with the flow, sample what they have and youll enjoy your evening. If youre still wondering if you should try this place... local cooks and caterers were coming for snacks and drinks after their shift so it clearly has their approval.

Went to Chulo for our first time lastnight for a date night. It was amazing, hands down the best service we have had in Penticton in a long time. The staff were so friendly and truly made it a memorable experience. The cocktails were creative and delicious along with the incredible food. We loved how cozy the atmosphere was and how welcomed we felt our entire experience. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back!
