This food is amazing! This is the first time weve tried joy restaurant. So impressed. Food is so fresh & flavouful. We ordered chicken chow mein, beef & broccoli, lemon chicken & vegetable spring rolls. Every dish was outstanding! Thank you Joy! Youre our new favorite restaurant! We will be back

We ordered fried chicken and fries last Christmas Eve and they were amazing! Better than KFC and Popeyes. Highly recommend this place and the owners are very friendly.

Ordered take out. The food was ready in 20 mins, it was hot and delicious. Food portions are fantastic. Highly recommend.

Very good food at reasonable prices. Would get 5 stars but only very cheap box wine and no local craft beers. I understand the rational for box wines in a small restaurant but there are some decent box wines available. Excellent place for those who need to eat gluten free. Dietary restrictions: Excellent choice for gluten-free.

The best oriental food Ive had hands down! Excellent service and everything we ordered was excellent. Prices arent low but considering you pay $32 down the road for a smorgasbord, you actually pay less if you bring a few people and share dishes or come in at lunch and order their special. I would highly recommend dining in or getting take out. We had their ginger beef, sweet and sour pork, shrimp with vegetables, another chicken dish, beef bulgogi and chicken Chow Mein. Everything was excellent and more than enough for all of us. -update- Still Great! The sweet and sour chicken is awesome as well! Had some chicken Yakisoba as well. Definitely worth checking out. Next time Ill have to take pictures. Excellent food! Vegetarian options: There are a few options but Im not 100% certain on how much there is. Wheelchair accessibility: Fairly easy entrance although a bit tight when youre inside but all the seats are movable.

Ive heard really good things about this restaurant but unfortunately the pad thai I ordered was terrible. The chicken and noodles were the same texture, the sauce had a really weird aftertaste and there were almost no veggies that I could see. I didnt feel well after eating. Everyone else I was with said their food was great so this was disappointing. I also noticed that the servers were standing around talking and werent very coordinated- one would come check on our table and then a minute later the other would come check on our table. Like I said Ive heard very good things about this place so not sure if it was just a bad dish or bad night?

Hands down the best Chinese food I ve ever had.

AMAZING!! Our first time trying this wonderful restaurant & delicious dishes! The restaurant is cozy with beautiful high ceilings & the owner/server was so friendly & knowledgeable! There were so many vegetarian options to choose from. The coconut veggie soup comes in 2 sizes & next time we are definitely getting the larger size. The veggie spring rolls were large, perfectly crispy & came with a sweet plum sauce & the teriyaki rice dish came out sizzling with so many different veggies! Atmosphere, food, service, portion size & experience was A+ and we will definitely be back as regulars!! We left with fortune cookies, chocolates, a lovely note, leftovers & big smiles !! Vegetarian options: Such a wide variety of vegetarian dishes to choose from!!

Picked this place at random while in town for the night. Absolutely without a doubt the best Chinese Ive had in years. Absolutely spot on quality with great portions as well. Its a shame we dont have this place back home, couldnt recommend it enough.

Restaurant is small but stylish. Service was spot on and prices are about average for the region. The food, however, is FANTASTIC. Hot, fresh, flavourful but not greasy or so syrupy that it is drowning in it. Had ginger beef with some steamed rice - wow! The main reason I did not give 5 stars is because there wasnt a combination plate which is what I would have liked to taste a little bit more variety.

Fresh and delicious

We arrived at nearly closing but they were gracious and had no issue with us coming in. We chose wontons and Pad Thai. The servings were huge so we were glad to share. I was really hoping for traditional Pad Thai but it was the tomato sauce version. That s the only reason for four stars. It was still tasty and great value.

Found this little gem for family meals. The staff welcomed us by having seats all set up and menu intros and questions. The price and portions are very generous. Were chinese and we felt that the price of one dish was great to feed our family of 5 with lots of left overs to take home to keep enjoying. Our bill came with a loving Bible verse to bring the meal to the end. Would come again to enjoy their other items. Get the BBQ wings, very tangy and big. Their Chow Mein isnt a slouch. And their bulgogi was generous. I never had the buffet, but I prefer their a la carte.

Pictured is the Chicken Yaki Udon; it was excellent. The noodles are coated in a good sauce and not just added in, and no part of the dish felt bland. For $2 you can get the best bowl of miso soup as an appetizer. I d recommend coming here for a good priced lunch and leftovers to take home!

Spicy korean ramen with beef 3/5 The noodles arent made fresh. Lots of vegetables such as broccoli and carrot, with bean sprouts added on top. The broth has a mild spiciness, if you want yruly spicy broth ask for extra. Minimal oil and no real tare, but still flavourful. An egg is added to the soup and adds a sort of egg-drop quality. There are big chunks of button mushrooms, if you enjoy mushrooms you will like the addition. Unfortunately there was a communication error and no beef was in the ramen, which detracts from the overall dish. Beef bulgogi 4/5 It is served on a hot sizzling plate. The beef is seasoned well, it is on the sweeter side. There are mushroom, red bell pepper, and cabbage added to the beef which gains a pleasant sear from the plate. The rice gains a crispy bottom, but is not scorched. The plain rice with the bulgogi beef is good but feels lacking for the total price point. If you can get gochujang or kimchi on the side to mix in, it would elevate this dish and feel more complete. Service and atmosphere 4/5 Although there was a communication error in my order, the server was very polite and did not neglect refilling my water or checking in. The overall atmosphere is very warm, with menus adorning the walls and a wine selection above the kitchen. The roof shows its age as it is in an older building, but below that it is very clean and well decorated. I ordered two main dishes at a fairly busy time, yet my food did not take long at all to come out, the total visit was about an hour. At the end of the meal there was a complimentary chocolate and biscuit and a handwritten card. I would recommend lunch here to those who are passing through, and have never eaten there before but would like to try korean fusion food. Parking: The building it is located in has ample parking.

Without a doubt the best Asian food in Penticton. You must try the BBQ Chicken Ball, sweet, savoury with just the right amount of spice, super yummy. All the dishes are great, especially if you like it with a bit of spice. Ive never had a bad dish, they are all great. The owners and staff are the nicest people. I know the notes in each order arent for everyone, but Ive come to love them. You can tell the owners really care, from their food to their messaging, it comes from the heart, so refreshing in these troubling times. God bless.

NEVER DID I EVER think pork ribs fit in at an Asian fusion restaurant but I was SO wrong. The pork rib platter was more food than I could eat and everything was delicious. What impressed us most was the welcome greeting as we were being seated. If you get a chance to eat here do not hesitate. You will not regret it.

I m very disappointed in the reception we got when we tried to eat here. We walked in with our 2 kids (one of which is less than 1 year old) and we re rudely told by the server we are full with no further communication even though there is clearly an available table in front of us. We walked out and a customer came out to let us know that they were paying their bill and would be leaving but we thanked her and decided to eat elsewhere as we obviously weren t welcome at this restaurant. I ve never received such a reception especially at a local restaurant that should pride themselves on their service. Im happy Penticton has other options for Asian fusion- based on my experience, I d strongly recommend you eat elsewhere where your patronage will be appreciated.

Penticton has be really lacking in Chinese/Asian Cuisine. Joy Buffet raised the bar on this Walked in to grab a menu so we could order later for dinner. The place smelled amazing and that smell stuck in my mind while I read through the menu. Though it may be small and simple, its packed with classics that taste amazing. Hands down the best chow mein that I have ever had. Basic chicken Chow Mein had fire grilled veggies My gawd You usually pay extra for that stuff and the noodles are usually soggy.... But not at Joy Buffet!! Those noodles were on point Found my new favorite restaurant. Lovely couple as well. The lady was very kind and helped walk my order to my car (I have a disability) I didnt ask for help, she just kindly walked outside with me. Thank you. Cant wait to eat those noodles again

Just moved to Penticton, and had a need for Asian Food. Did a google search, and decided to try JJ Joy WOW, was not disappointed, From the Swt & Sour Pork, Beef & Broccoli, and Chow Mein. Didn t even get to the Won Ton, as there was so much. Delivery was a little longer, but expected for a Saturday night. Food arrived hot, with chocolate treat, and a hand written thank you note. Very impressed, and will definitely be ordering again. Thanks JJ Joy for the amazing experience

Lovely Food! We ordered for delivery on a cold night and were delighted with the service and the food. We ordered the chicken chow menu with extra veggies, beef bulgogi and ginger beef. All of the food was delicious, especially the chow mein and the bulgogi. The veggies were cooked just right, all the portions healthy and not too much oil in the mix. It is some of the best I have had and definitely my Asian food favorite in Penticton. Eat there, they are very conscientious. A small detail but they cut a hole in the containers so the food did not overcook or get wet from condensation. So thoughtful! We were impressed.

The best Chinese food in town by far! If you want to get away from the bad buffets in town, you are in luck. This is the place to go. It will cost you a little more than going to the old, tired other Chinese food places on the area, but it is well worth the price!

Delicious comfort food! Such a good family friendly atmosphere and the service is really genuine. The food is definitely homemade comfort food and so fresh. Really outstanding. Highly recommend it for rib lovers. Some of the best ribs (even better than my dad s and that s saying a lot).

Joy Buffet is not your typical buffet. The food is fresh, and made with love. The ribs at dinner were awesome. I love the nice salad/fruit bar as well.

We went late for lunch buffet, not that many foods left, they didnt turn us away but immediately cook more foods for us! How nice are they! Soups and foods taste good and fresh, especially the plain deep fried chicken wing. Taste excellent! Crunchy outside, juicy inside! Seldom to have such a tasty chicken wing in B.C. They are not only serve buffet but a la carte menu.

One of my favourite places in town to eat, some of the most amazing fried rice i have ever had and the buffet is always hot and fresh, i tend to go for the lunch buffet more often as it is a bit cheaper but dinner does have a more assortment, my preferred method is take out though. If you ever have the chance to stop here i would recommend it and you will fall in love.

I have been curious about this restaurant for some time. Described as a ribs Asian Fusion buffet. I thought it would be either very good or horrid. Happy to say I concur with the 4.5 star reviews. Excellent selection of dishes. The coconut curry soup was sublime. Loved the tempura, ribs, (3 varieties) noodle and rice dishes, and it was a nice mix of Chinese, Thai, Korean and Japanese. I passed on the salad bar as I was too full but it looked good and offers something for the non meat eaters. Great value. Simple decor. Not a fine dine restaurant nor is it trying to be. Friendly service.

The atmosphere was was nice, service was awesome, the place was clean, buffet very small and not much variety. Most things were cold, or old, 4 types of ribs of which two were dried out. Salad bar was in bad shape, far too expensive for what they offer. I will not go back.

It was tucked away in the old cannery building just outside city centre core. But it was worth the short drive from downtown water front where we stayed. There were ribs in three styles!!! The rest of the selections struck a balance between spicy and mild, between sweet and savoury. The salad bar had fresh vegetables and fruits. In addition, there was a full row of candies. The flavours and quality are great. We would eat there again. The old Cannery had been repurposed to house small businesses and professional practices. A number of the old machines are left as exhibits. These made for an interesting strode after overeating (couldnt help it, the food was great)!
