1000 Lakeshore Dr W, Penticton, BC V2A 1C1, Canada
Laid-back restaurant with lake views serving entrees, sharing plates & drinks in a nautical setup.
It’s really great to have vegan “seafood” options, especially not typically ones. It would be nice to have some of the typical one too though like “fish” and chips. I found the vegan tuna nachos to be really unique and flavourful. It was not the most filling but that’s to be expected. Their other dishes looked filling. The vegan cheesecake was really good, it tasted like gingerbread. It could have used some presentation though. I enjoyed the yam fries and subbed for the vegan mayo but it would be great to have a vegan chipotle mayo. Good service and decor fit the aesthetic. I would definitely come back!
I had a delicious meal here today. The key lime pie was the best I've ever had! It was so creamy and flavorful. I also enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked. Shannon and the serving staff were excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal.
I really enjoyed the ambience here. Even though it was noon on a Saturday in the off-season, there was still plenty of other folks eating here. We fortunately got seated right away and got a seat on the patio which was quite nice. The food did not disappoint and the portion size was quite reasonable. Will definitely be back again during the high season to check this place out.
This was the perfect place for lunch. Will be back soon! Everything was so fresh and good. The Tuna Nachos is honestly the best version of “nachos” for fish I’ve had in my life.
What a great location right on the beach. For tourist fare, pricing was as expected. We had fish and chips and the protein portion was so small it was almost humorous however it did taste good. Staff were friendly but it was obvious they are pressured to flip tables quickly. The ambience feels relaxed and casual but the service feels a little more fast-food. Worth a visit with realistic expectations that this is a medium-low end restaurant.
What a cool hangout facing Okanagan Lake. Service was friendly and fast. We arrived with no reservations but was seated right away. Restaurant was clean and inviting. We all ordered a light meal and was it delicious!! Prawn crunchy roll, fish and chips, and the chocolate mousse cake. Excellent flavor and fresh!
What a fun place to gather with friends for a pretty delicious meal and beverages. Nothing like sitting across the street from the view of the lake on an upper outside balcony. This place is so popular it doesn't really really need any advertising, but you've got to try it anyway. No way are you gonna be disappointed here. The food is great even when they accidentally messed up your order, it still turns out fantastic and they remedy it well. Don't forget to try their drink, called the Big Dog! Woof! 🐶
Stopped in for dinner. They have a great patio that overlooks the water. Good service and good food, definitely worth a try. This place does tend to get busy, but you can do online reservations. Most of the time you're able to find reservations the same day from time to time. They make a good margarita.
Great food, even better service
Great food and service. The chicken wings, saltys sliders and gluten-free food (my daughter is celiac) were all great. Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free food. Great for celiacs.
I had the Steak Nawlins it was so good. I highly recommend it. Great restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Good service all around A+
Our favorite stop! Always a good time and good eats!
Great food! Was expecting another fish and chip joint but they had a good sized menu and the food was delicious! Adria did a Fanta job serving my bf and I, absolutely lovely server! Will be back soon!
Great location Patio was opened with the heaters on Firepit was a very nice touch Amazing service Vegan foods was amazingly delicious
Yes it was as good as it looks!!
Wonderful atmosphere in a beautiful location.
This was one of the best experiences we have ever had on our anniversary and birthday. We celebrate both in 1 day and these people made it absolutely special. Discounts and free cake made this a perfect evening. No matter what, we will be back.
Stopped in for dinner last week, while we were visiting Penticton. For a Friday night it wasnt very busy, but it was raining and off-season. That said, service was friendly and fast, and the food was good (maybe mistaken, but I think Saltys is owned by Earls Kitchen). The kids portions were a little on the small side though (3 chicken strips), so we ordered an extra side. Adult portions were spot on and very tasty. Great location next to the lake, will be back again soon.
Fun beachside vibe with great outdoor seating! The drinks were great - they have a Mai Tai Monday special ! Our server, Hannah, was very sweet and accommodating. They have a big menu with something for everyone. The fish and chips were fresh as were the oysters. Great organic salad too!
We spent a few hrs on the patio last night with fantastic views, great cocktails, food and service from Hannah! Cant wait to return sometime!
Best place to eat in town. Awesome staff and even better food
Great atmosphere and lovely table overlooking the lake. Unfortunately there was disappointment with my dinner. Ordered the Salmon, it was OK but the asparagus was inedible, so so salty I sent it back. Mashed potatoes were strange, they had a hardened crust at the base. Meal was redeemed by the key lime pie. Also no toilet roll and door wouldnt close in the disabled toilet which I had to use. I used to love Saltys
I always enjoy this place. Food is good and the service is normally bang on.
Had the bourbon salmon , dinner was tasty but portions were small, finished off with key lime pie that was adequate portion and delicious
Amazing food and great customer service. The scallop dip is amazing and to die for you really have to try it!! I always have to visit this restaurant when I visit Penticton
So good and what a wonderful local restaurant looking out at a beautiful view.
Salty s hosted us for our cocktail party after our wedding and they went absolutely above and beyond to make us feel special. The personal touches of decor and the way they went out of their way to accommodate our timeline was unbelievable! We appreciate them so much!
Edit....After responding to the owners request to reach out to them and rectify the situation, they have yet to contact me or return my phone calls. Best advice is to stay far away from this place! I wish I could give a better review. We went for brunch after looking at their online menu. None of the items shown online were available. I ended up ordering a Salmon Eggs Benny. When it arrived, it had NO salmon, but rubbery, over cooked shrimp. It was horrendous. It was sent back, and sadly the next option was even less appetizing, and was left uneaten. At no point did the server offer to comp the two meals that were left uneaten, or even offer an apology, despite saying that he hears constant complaints about the brunch menu. We will certainly never return, which is such a shame.
Great food and awesome service. We were visiting from Calgary and really enjoyed our time at this restaurant!
Very busy, orders got mixed up. very hard to hear and poor access to table inside.
Saltys is an experience! Outside patio with beachfront across the street, great service, with good food and drinks! If you like seafood, I recommend the Fishermans pot.
Good place for dinner.
Went there on what we thought was a random Wednesday and found out there was a concert in town so the place was slammed. The staff were super nice and tried their best and even gave us a free appy for waiting. The food was all very good although the portion sizes could have been a bit bigger. Overall nice place on the beach with good food and nice staff.
Amazing food. The BEST device Thanks John From Ontario. It was so great. Sue
Terrible food, fish tacos were tiny little mystery meat burned and breaded with a spoon full of Cole slaw for 20$! Terrible! Enchiladas were inedible filled with cream cheese! S as Lao terrible, nice location amazing staff but you can t eat the food.
Good food,great service
Was NOT a great experience, food came to the table before the drinks, had to wait for them to wash the knives and forks, the chicken was deep fried and deep fried way to long, too the point that you couldn t eat it. Definitely won t go back, as this is the second bad experience at this restaurant.
Amazing. The Prawn and Chorizo Burger was great and the Chorizo Gnocchi soup was incredible.
Come on out to the coolest spot on the strip
Decent fish and chips, solid tartar sauce, the fries were solid. It was very busy because of Ironman triathlon
Always visit here when were in Penticton. Consistently good meals in a great setting.
Nice place just in front of the beach.
Table of 9, great food and good service.
Great place, great waitresses and waiters and the food was absolutely delicious. Thank you for the great night!
Tiny portions. Ordered fries to go and it was the size of my fist for $9
Went here with my father and had to reserve a table as they were full(okay thats fine). We waited longer than expected wait time, 40 minutes and the same girl who took our reservation instead of giving us the small empty nice table, said that we can sit at the small confined bar table upfront that still needed to be cleaned :) It was super frustrating because you do not reserve a table wait 40 minutesto offer them the most inconvenient table... The small bar tables should be offered to walk in people. I used to enjoy this place when travelling here but this experience has pushed me and my close ones that I come here with away. Please dont reserve someone to offer them the worst table seating :) If you are travelling to Penticton Id recommend a place where youll be better valued for your time.
Great views!
A great little place with good drinks, good food and an outdoor patio. Our section was covered and shady in the heat - really enjoyed it. Add in the beach view and great food.
We LOVE Salty s. The food, the atmosphere, so good. The only reason I m giving a 4 star instead of 5 is the hostess desk. I understand they get poor behaviours on a regular basis but the attitude that we are met with on a regular basis isn t great. Not everyone that approaches their desk is angry or hostile. I also find it rude that the hostess has her face in her iPad and doesn t look you in the eyes. (Not only a Salty s issue. This seems to sadly be the norm) Not great for a service position. Having said all of this, I would like to say we have never had bad service. The food is really good and such a great variety. Nothing beats the atmosphere or view.
We had a previous experience at this restaurant that wasn t the greatest due to poor service, but I ll account that to the particular server we had at the time. We decided to try it again with our kids because the food is so dang good!! This time it was amazing. What a difference! The kids LOVED it too! Will come back here every time we come to Penticton for sure.
How is it a half hour wait for inside service when it s happy hour on a long weekend even..Poor service all the times I ve been here and mediocre food. Won t be back.
Excellent experience here!!
Had an excellent experience here. Food was amazing service was good liked the tag team approach.
Unfortunately was a bad experience.
Food was fresh and delicious, great patio but slow and disorganized service
I dont know why people are hating on this place.... get used to change people!!! Although the food was a bit different, it was still excellent! I had the rasta pasta with chicken and prawns ( a bit pricy) the portion size could be a bit larger but it was delicious. The rasta part is a lacking as I didnt get any hint of a carribean flavor, but still enjoyed it. The tuna nachos was on point! The server was pleasant and attentive, all in all we had 4 different people who attended our table from seating to ordering, to clearing plates to bringing food out. It doesnt have the previous carribean vibe that lent to the laid back style of the beach life, but still enjoyable and comfortable.
Wow, Im going to be dreaming of that Fishermans Pot for a long time. This colourful dish has a generous assortment of seafood and the most perfectly crunchy snap peas to which Ill compare all other snap peas. Friendly service and the food came out quickly. We sat on the patio and had a great dining experience.
Super nice staff! Unfortunately the fish was dry, I said so and immediately got a new portion, it was brilliant! Ambience modern and clean! Great store
Good vibes. Good feed.
Very friendly staff, nice views. The food was quite expensive for small portions. Nothing special.
Great dinner with friends!
They let us sit and chat, no rush, we were out of season.
Indoor and patio dining atmosphere is really nice! We had wonderful service from Luca. The chilli lime wings and enchiladas with blackened chicken were absolutely amazing. They have a great drink menu as well!
Andy our server was so great and the food slapped
Everything was great, except for our server Andy he was outstanding!
Great evening. Our server Andy was great. Ask for his section next time you go!
It was a nice place to grab dinner. $30 CA for the fisherman s pot which provided ample seafood with a nice hot flavor.
Food was okay, nice staff unfortunately just smelled strange.
Great service and vibes
Dietary restrictions: Some options for gluten free Food
I visited Saltys Beach House last Saturday to pick up an order and tried the fish tacos. They were absolutely delicious. The host was exceptionally friendly and asked for his name and I learned it was Cole, He kept the conversation going and made the experience very pleasant. Excellent service, thank you, Saltys Beach House!
Unfortunately, we werent satisfied with the food, as even a bowl portion was tiny - the prices were horrendous in comparison. It was very loud - maybe different where you sit. The service was super good!
Portions were super small:( I got the 6 ounce sirloin for $36 and it was so tiny with the smallest portion of mash. I added prawns for $9.75 and only got 4 small prawns! Super disappointing. Also the steak was pretty firm and chewy with not enough seasoning. Way too expensive for what it was. The service was okay but she didn t come back to check until we were almost done so I didn t bother bringing it up.
Faidra was such a great hostess who made sure that we got a table quickly and took care of us and all our needs. Couldn t ask for better service.
The food was great and the service was excellent. They were very busy on a Saturday night, but put us on the waitlist and had us seated in 20 min. No fuss. I had the Fishermans Pot and greatly enjoyed it. A little spicier than expected, but that only added to the dish.
Omg absolutely amazing, food was awesome!!!!!! The service was beyond, our 2 hosts were the kindness and so friendly and helpful, Faidra and Arshdeep were so accommodating!!! Our waitress Angela went above and beyond, service was a 15 out of 10!!! Truly an amazing restaurant
We ordered takeout for two families, totaling nearly $200, and encountered several issues: 1. When we called in our order, we were placed on hold for over 5 minutes after being initially picked up. After waiting 7 minutes, we hung up and called again. The second time, our order was taken immediately, suggesting we were forgotten the first time. 2. When we arrived to pick up the food 15 minutes later as suggested. We still had to wait an additional 10 minutes, despite the restaurant not being busy around 4:30 PM. 3. We ordered a salad with chicken (paying an extra $6), but it arrived without the chicken, even though it was listed on the receipt. We had to return to the restaurant and wait another 15 minutes to get the chicken. 4. The worst part was that the chicken was undercooked! Fortunately, one of us noticed before anyone ate it, which could have made us, especially the kids, very sick during our vacation. It seemed like they rushed the chicken preparation after forgetting it, resulting in it being undercooked. 5. On the website shows you get 10% off for pick ups and we saw no discount at all on the receipts. As for the food quality, the pizza was average and small for the price, the salad presentation was poor and tasteless, but the Teriyaki chicken was surprisingly good.. The food quality does not justify the price they are charging.
Great food and service. Feels a little chain like, but fast and friendly.
Very nice atmosphere looking out to the water. Came with a few friends a couple of weeks ago and ordered the pasta. Mine came out cold, hard and the chicken looked as it had been thrown onto the plate compared to my friend s dish who ordered the same thing but with prawns instead which was creamy and fresh. Told the waiter and he was very kind about it and brought out a new one which was good, still not quite sure what happened with the first one. (photo is showing what my pasta looked like compared to my friends when it first came out)
Has an outdoor fire feature and views of Okanagan lake. Decor is pirate themed. Specials throughout the week such as half price on a bottle of wine day. They offer delivery, pickup and dine in options and credit, debit and cash transactions.
BOMB ! Great service, great food and super fun atmosphere. They have so many home made sauces and things. Definitely a sense of pride in there dishes while still being quick and delicious. Very impressed with Laura she was so friendly and kind. If we lived here this would be a go to ! Way to go Saltys your killing it ! Ps GET THE KEY LIME PIE !!!
Great food, costumer service and environment, was my first time there, definitely would come back.
What a gem of a restaurant! My friends recommended it, theyre local to Penticton, I was pleasantly surprised. Small menu which I prefer, I tried the Rasta Pasta with blackened chicken, thought it was excellent, my family really liked their food, well priced. Looking forward to going back and trying other things!
Great place. Plan ahead there is always que. Give them your number and enjoy the beach walk or rose garden while you wait. Food
The special server Kalen is number one. And Ill be back!
I love it, good for brunch.
Super tasty, fun atmosphere, friendly wait staff! I had the Fisherman s Pot and it was so delicious. The broth reminded me of Thai Tom Ka soup.
Best place to eat in Penticton!
Food was amazing. I was a little confused with the wait times and empty seats... But the staff was very pleasant and the food was awesome!!
We used to love coming here, and we make a point to visit every year that we re in the Penticton area. This visit was sub-par. We ordered a starter which arrived cold at the same time as our mains. When we commented that it was cold, our server offered to replace it. In reality, the dish was brought back 2 minutes later with a warning that the bowl was hot. The crispy chicken and wontons were soggy and the whole dish (including cucumbers) was clearly microwaved. The salmon was good, but the fries that came with the mains were also lukewarm. It definitely felt like our food was sitting out for a while before it was actually served. We will be looking for a new restaurant on our next visit.
Great Location and Great Food!
Wonderful beach front restaurant. The food was good. Service was good
Spent the weekend in Penticton and had to go to Saltys! We have been a few other times from previous visits and has always been a favourite! It did not disappoint as per usual! Sat on the rooftop over looking the lake, it was beautiful! Great service, awesome atmosphere, yummy cocktails, & amazing food! I had the fish tacos and would recommend!! Hubby got the tortuga burger & loved it!! Until next time!!
Go here every time we come to Penticton and it never lets us down. They have a great waiting system where you put your name down and they text you when your table is ready. We know this so we like to relax on the beach until we get the buzz. Inside the restaurant supplies a great atmosphere with great people. And of course the food is the best.. we have never been disappointed by what we have ordered. Will be back again.
Found hair in the food. Server took half the money off the dish saying we ate half of it. That s when we found the hair. Gross
My friends and I are on vacation and we waited a very long time. My friend had a back injury and we went up and asked two people if we could move as the chairs did not have backs to them. When we then asked if we could move in because they also did not have happy hour in the patio they never came back to serve or move us. We then left and had the worst experience ever, very disappointed.
Happy. Every one of these people who work here. They all seem genuinely happy. The food? AMAZING!! Beer, burger, atmosphere, and the folks great place to enjoy an evening (or any meal).
Simply incredible your trip!!!!!
Amazing fish & chips loved it!!!!! Thank you for helping me with missing item, great customer service Food : 5/5 |
Nice service they Miss placed my order they didnt give me a piece of cod for me and my friend that was coming over and the fish wich was an extra was 5 bucks they gave me a 50 dollar gift card instead 10/10 service
Highly recommend the prawn & chorizo burger and the tortuga burger. They were both delicious and had a ton of flavour. Tried a few different drinks and all were good except the Jalapeño Margarita. Beautiful view!
We let the staff know on our reservation that it was our anniversary. They called ahead to confirm the reso details, and asked if we had a seating preference. When we arrived they ushered us immediately to our beautiful spot on the upper patio with a wonderful view. They gifted us a card and bubbly champagne, much more than I would anticipate. The service was prompt and friendly. The food was amazing. Its been a long time since we relieved exceptional service while dining out. Thanks to the restaurant for a memorable night!
Cool atmosphere, but really was not a fan of the food or service. Our waiter came by our table once.
Had an excellent dinner with my family while vacationing in Penticton, our server Terrie was very friendly and patient, my parents don t always like restaurant food but they were very pleased with their meal. Will be back next time in town.
Large capacity restaurant overlooking the Okanagan lake. Cant beat that view if you get a front facing table. The staff is very friendly, the menu is full of variety (lots of different choices for different preferences and picky people like me). I had the chicken sandwich and while it was more batter than breast it was really tasty! Rest of my family had the pasta, the battered shrimp and the tuna tacos, and they really enjoyed it. Satlys signature fries were very tasty albeit a little salty We would go again for sure.
This place has been around forever. The food was okay, nothing spectacular. Solid spot off the beach.
Great food and a friendly atmosphere. Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome! Food : 5/5 |
Killer spot, great food
I love a restaurant that doesnt destroy the atmosphere with televisions everywhere. Got to sit upstairs and look at the water while dining which was great.
Before I entered this restaurant, I didn t have an itchy lip that was until after I came out I realized there was a cold sore appearing. And then I started to get brutally sick after that point. I think one of the dishes, cutlery or cups were not cleaned properly, causing this to happen. From my experience I would not go again.
This place had me straight up GAGGING when I was there last Monday. Believe it or not I had found a freaking EYELASH in my Caesar salad . I know for a fact that it couldn t be mine because I do not have long eyelashes, and neither does my peer. This completely ruined my experience and appetite at this restaurant, and I did not eat any more of it after this. Merely revolting.
The food was great. Our server was great. Its pricey. For that reason, we dont go often, but we do enjoy ourselves when we go.
A must if you find yourself in Penticton. Great lakeside location. My daughter loved the keylime pie!
We were visiting Penticton and were told that we HAD to go to Saltys. Reservations were made. We were quickly seated. Our waitress Emma W came to take our drink order. I ordered the Sunday special Caesar but was told that they didnt have the right toothpicks??? Anyway order the regular Caesar but requested that it not be too spicy. After a very long wait our drinks arrived. We had requested water which we also waited a very long time for even though we saw our waitress walk right past our table with the water pitcher not once but twice. We ordered the oysters and chowder as a starter. They arrived promptly and were good. We ordered another round of drinks and waited for our entrees to arrive. Still no water. The prawn crunch roll, scallop remoulade and honey bourbon salmon came to the table. The prawns and scallops were great however the salmon was dried out and completely burned on the bottom. After quite some time we got Emmas attention and showed her the salmon which was inedible. She agreed and offered to put in another order of salmon which we declined. We ordered another order of the scallops instead. We watched as she showed the burnt salmon to who we assume was a manager and pointed to our table. Then we waited and waited. We watched as several orders of the scallops were served but not to us. Just as we were about to ask for the bill the scallops arrived at the table. One would think that they would put a rush on this order as everyone else at the table had completed their meal. The restaurant was not overly busy with plenty of empty tables. The food we were able to eat was good, service not so good.
Stopped by with family and friends after a nice time at the beach... first time there and werent sure what to order but we tried about 6 dishes and every single one was outstanding... even the pizza and fish and chips were top-notch! We had a lovely evening starting from the host to the lovely server that made our stay very enjoyable! We will definitely be back when in Penticton!
Love this place. Always have. However, today s experience was sub par at best. Food started showing up before drinks. Waiter was lost most of the time. Took 30 mins to get the first drink and then waited 15 mins after our entire party left just to get the bill(had enough time after we were done to decide to leave this review). I ll be back. But hopefully the service is better.
I was told from someone at Saltys via phone & messenger that small dogs were allowed on the patio. I told them I had a Yorkie. I drive into Penticton & the front desk person said no dogs, I asked for the Manager. Showed him my phone with the messenger response saying dogs were allowed. He reluctantly let us sit in the far dirty corner. Service was slow, Marguerita pizza was all dough & awful. I left it there after ripping apart 1 slice. The whole experience was greatly disappointing. I wont go back.
Service was great atmosphere was fantastic.
Food was good
Always a good experience to visit Saltys. Typically busy but the staff are well versed in handling lots of traffic. Great patio and upstairs mezzanine. Food never disappoints along with lots of beverages to choose from on a hot day at the beach.
The food ok not great, not much taste, and undercooked, not worth the $24. cost. My husbands tacos were ok, not great. The fries he had with his meal were so salty you couldnt eat them also it was way too expensive for what he got. We wont be going back here again.
They got rid of the best thing on the menu, the calamari! Not only that but they only offer happy hour inside ? Pretty silly to be completely honest. Also got a $28 takeout burger and it was way too salty. Inedible, pretty upsetting for the money. Even their Ceaser isn t as good as it use to be. Not sure what s happened with Saltys beach house but it isn t what it use to be anymore. Shame. Servers also had a bit of a snarky attitude. Also took four phone calls to reach through to order takeout on a slow Sunday night? No reason for it. Management should look into what s taking place in both the kitchen and how come staff can t answer a ringing phone. Went from 5 stars to 2
My fiancée, parents, and I visited Saltys Beach House over the weekend as our first stop before a winery tour. While our server in training accidentally spilled mimosas on my fiancée, the staffs response was exceptional. They were incredibly apologetic, and both the trainee and our main server, along with management, made sure to rectify the situation promptly. Management went above and beyond by purchasing a new pair of shorts for my fiancée, and they also comped all of our mimosas and my fiancée s meal. Despite the mishap, their dedication to customer service truly impressed us. Saltys Beach House offers not only delicious food and drinks but also a stunning view and outstanding service. Highly recommended!
Basic pub food was not exceptional but filled us up. Drinks were just ok, service was decent.
Great tasting, quality, and quantity food. Ordered seafood chowder, but prawn was raw. Served main courses but didnt bring replacement chowder till 10 minutes after. Not sure why rice and bread is under the plate of food. Very pleasant servers. Sat outside with nice view of water (and car traffic.)
Food was OK, service and atmosphere both still great. Was around when saltys first opened and food was great. I guess I had expectations 25 years later. Foodwise, they were not met.
Plenty of open tables and they wouldnt give us happy hour prices outside, super weird...
Would not go back worst service I ve had in a restaurant in all of penticton literally go anywhere else
No complaints. Food, staff, and service were great
This has to be one of the worst experiences Ive had in ages. The hostess was nice enough and we asked her if we could sit at the bar area which she said would be fine, sat us, and told us our server would be right along. After about 10 minutes, the hostess brought us some water. About 10 minutes after that, the waiter finally came and took a drink order. I asked a question about one beer which he came up with a description of before admitting he was new and didnt know the product at all. Another 10 minutes later he returned with the two beers we ordered and said he would top up our water. He didnt. Though 15 minutes later he offered to fill up the water again. He didnt. We had planned to order some food and another round but the waiter never returned. Finally, I went in search of him to request the bill. He said he would be right out and 15 minutes we finally gave up, left a $20. Hopefully it covered the bill. I realized I forgot my glasses and returned 20 minutes later. The $20 was gone but the glasses, along with all the dirty glassware was still there.
Food was good, menu was small. Not much variety. Tuna nachos but not regular nachos? :(. Service was good. Lots of tables. Nice view from up top. Vegetarian options: Plant based section on menu - 7 items Kid-friendliness: Absolutely great kids menu - affordable and has things I wish were on the full menu in dinner portions not just appies
Fishermans pot was decent The teriyaki chicken bowl was pathetic especially for the price. There was maybe 1/2 oz chicken with a small scoop of rice Great service and atmosphere
Unfortunately very disappointing! On the outside terrace, the waitress didnt know anything about happy hour and lied to us about it. Only after we showed her the homepage on the cell phone did she say that it would be available, but only for indoor use. We then sat down 2 m further to the top right into the open interior area. The happy hour wine was of the cheapest quality and far too expensive for that, even if it was cheaper than on the normal menu. The burger was okay. The fish and chips, however, are absolute fast food and frozen products. Sauce in a plastic cup. Never worth the money and regardless, not recommended as there is no enjoyment.
Great Tortuga Burger and fish & chips. Butter chicken was very good. It has a great view of the lake, it was crowded when we came so the service was a bit slow but the servers were friendly
This is a great place right on the main drag on the beachfront! We enjoyed the curried hot pot dish.
Location Location location
Very nice place to dine with the option of eating in or on the patio. Our server was very nice and efficent and the manager Britt was very helpful answering our questions about the menu. Our food was awesome! We will defenitely be back to try some more menu items on our next trip.
Our food was amazing. We split the Fishermans Pot. My only dislike of the whole experience would ha e to be that I was extremely hot in the restaurant, but that was expected because either was 40 degrees outside that evening lol.
Prompt service, the hawaiian musubi was great for the price value.
Excellent food and drinks, beautiful view
The atmosphere was lively and friendly. Service was great and the food was delicious.
We had multiple dinners at this restaurant during our week stay at Penticton. We tried almost everything on the menu and I have to say that the food was 5 stars out of 5 stars. The only downside first time server was all over the place. Cocktails took 30 minutes to get, the other round of cocktails after waiting for another 20 minutes we decided to cancel. Restaurant offered free round of cocktails because we waited for so long. Overall 5 out of 5 star experience. Will be definitely coming back. Kid-friendliness: Good menu for kids
Abby was such a fun server, great at her job and so polite and talkative! Great recommendations and we left full and happy. Thanks again!
Sorry, stop by today. We ask for upstairs table. Waited for 5 mins even there were vacant tables that can be seen outside the road. We were ushered upstairs and put us at the very back high chair table. I have a 9 year old who cant barely climb that high chairs even there were table by the ledge. There were costumers after us. Same group of 3. The host showed them to the ledge table right away then took their orders. We patiently waited for 15 minutes. Nobody took our orders. My daughter was hungry so we walked away and told the hostess about the issue. She was surprise but i think its about my race. Hey we can pay too.
I had the Fisherman s Hotpot and my husband had the Terriyaki Chicken Bowl. Delicious food and our waitress, Morgan was super efficient making sure to check with us a couple times in case we needed anything.
Had Andreas as our server and he was great, incredibly personable, very tentative, and overall an extremely fun guy to be around! Drinks were fantastic and would love to have the same server next time!
Oysters were good and fresh, but a bit on the small side. Service in the bar area was great for our party of 6. I had the double order of fish and chips which was good, nice light breading. Get the Big Dog margarita - perfect for starting the evening.

Food is ok, staff is great but the restaurant is cooking, sweating so much by the time we left. Apparently the AC was on full blast, felt nothing and no fans anywhere.
O my god, finally. Maybe it s the amazing tubing and swimming before it which made this restaurant great experience; but they do have the merit. would recommend. Food
Great food and very friendly attentive staff. Lots of action right across from the beach. Not the place for a quiet lunch though.
I tried to call this place all day and reserve a table for 5 with no answer went on line you can only book a table for 4 so we stopped by the restaurant at 1:30 in person to try and book a reservation for 7pm with no avail was told to stop by 45 min b4 we wanted a table so we did waited in line for 15 min then went for a walk around town till they called us with availability, wasnt to long after maybe 30 min they call us we then waited in line again for 15 minutes to get seated at a 4 seater table there was barely any room at the table for 5 I was seated out in the walk way forced into a cramped end of the table spot where there wasnt enough room for even the menus let alone anything else on the table we then waited 15 minutes to get water and for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink I had a knife fall at us and a neighboring table from the upstairs dining area almost hitting the guy in the foot ,took a walk to use the bathroom and noticed plenty of open 6 seater tables in the restaurant ,this place has the room to make the tables where we were sitting bigger but have not addressed this issue . we left with a foul taste in our mouths from the experience witch was upsetting because it was my daughters 21 st birthday and she really wanted to eat there .
They have good fries but I did not enjoy the Hawaiian burger on the happy hour menu. Chicken was so dry. Service was decent.
The very name conjures images of sun-kissed skin, toes wiggling in warm sand, and the salty tang of the ocean air kissing your lips. But hold on there, landlubber! While the Okanagan Lake might be a freshwater giant, Saltys offers an experience thats every bit as delightful, with a view thatll have you saying Ahoy there, gorgeous! from the moment you set foot on the patio. Imagine this: a vibrant tapestry woven with the turquoise shimmer of the lake, the gentle sway of sailboats dancing on the horizon, and the snow-capped peaks of the Okanagan Range standing guard in the distance. Its a panorama that would make even the most jaded city slicker weak in the knees. As the sun dips below the mountains, casting a warm glow over the water, you might even swear you see a mermaid fin flash by (well, maybe after a particularly delicious Saltys margarita). But the view is just the first course in this delightful feast for the senses. Picture the clinking of glasses filled with local Okanagan wines, the laughter bubbling up from tables filled with friends and family, and the intoxicating aroma of fresh seafood wafting from the kitchen. Its a symphony of sights, sounds, and smells that will have you swaying in your seat like a sailboat caught in a gentle breeze. So, if youre looking for a place to relax, recharge, and create memories that will last a lifetime, set sail for Saltys Beach House. Just remember to bring your appetite, your camera (for those epic sunset shots, of course), and maybe a seasickness patch (because the view might just be that good).
What a hidden gem! Forgot to take a photo before diving into my delicious pizza roll. We took home a smores cookie, turtle brownie and lemon pop tart all of which were fantastic. We will be back!!!
The fish resembled a greasy sponge, where it was cooked in fat after it was taken out of the freezer.
We ordered the Seafood Tower.... It was okay..the oysters were small and no real flavors in it...it wasnt warm seafood...all on item.. it was overall okay Food
We stopped for dinner. Great hostess and waitress. Very friendly very helpful. The atmosphere was nice. We both ordered fish and chips and a Coke. The food was good but only average for fish & chips. $7 for a second piece of fish seemed a bit high but what really bothered me was the price of the Coke. $4.50 for a glass of Coke about 12oz. Now a day you expect at least a refill for that price. But I was charges another $4.50. That s $9 for a Coke and a refill. It likely costs a restaurant not much more than 25 cents for a Fountain drink. Paying $13.50 for two Cokes and one refill left a bad taste in my mouth.
Great time at Saltys as always ! We make the pit stop to Saltys every trip to penticton (from Ladner). We just love the location, ambiance, and food. This time I ordered the Tuna Tataki, it was OK. Coming from the Coast and being a huge Seafood connoisseur, it wasnt my favorite helping of Tuna Ive had. But my standards are high for Seafood. The wonton chips were a bit big and not a great pairing. Yam fries were great, Service was great and the view was great! We will be back again
Tried the fish and chips and they were amazing! Best I ve had in all of Canada. The service left us in a bad mood as we were left unattended quite a bit.
Really good.is worthy trying.
Great restaurant with lake view serving food and drinks. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. The service was quick for us, considering we were a big group. They have a patio as well, so on a warm day, you can chill outside. Prices are on a bit higher end.
Beautiful lake view
I have been here in the past years ago and everything was good. This time around, Food was under cooked and glassware was extremely dirty. One meal wasn t rang in for our table, so he had to eat after everyone else. Won t return .
Good food, nice atmosphere.
Great place to stop in Penticton!
We had a great lunch of fish and chips. Great service.
Saltys is an old family favourite with memories of summer vacations. I has another enjoyable meal on the patio last night with great vegan options. The vegan tuna poke bowl was delicious and the vegan cheesecake was a solid okay. Great service and fun atmosphere.
Loved my experience! Great food and location!
We loved Saltys for the last 3 years. Going there all the time but after today Im reluctant to go back there again. We went today and had the Butter Chicken and Salmon Benny. The waiter didnt ask how I would like the eggs. Then the Salmon Benny came but the Salmon was missing . After sitting there for 5 min trying to get the attention of the waiter, we finally got him at our table. Another 15 min we got a new portion of the Salmon Benny. Now the Salmon was cold and tasted strange. The Salmon was shredded and tasted like it came out of a can. I ate the potatoes and tried to eat the eggs. My partner across of me saw that I was fighting to eat it and stopped me. After complaining to the manager, who was really sorry about it all. The Butter chicken was also not really good but we didnt say anything. Too much sauce not enough chicken. We got a gift certificate and apologies. Very disappointing experience.
Savanna was our waitress and she was so accommodating and friendly! Went above and beyond to see that all of our needs were met and took great care of us but the food is also exceptional. We had the Fishermans Pot, Island Chowder, kids mini sliders and key lime pie. All were 10/10. Definitely worth a visit. We loved our time here and will be back next time we re in Penticton!
Delish food. Pleasantly suprised. Service was great-thanks Savana!! Lovely view, on the water. Quality food!!
Food was good, not great. Service was great. Management has a strange policy about happy hour only being served inside the restaurant though. We were in the semi-outdoor room with just a window between us, but wont let you order from happy hour menu...
If you looked around, you can see a place that needs some TLC. Food was subpar to other places.
Had a great experience here with an exceptionally attentive waitress. Our table of 3 had return visits to ask how everything was and if there was anything else we needed. She was incredibly helpful, quick to the table and ensured we were handled. No toothpicks without the little umbrellas though, so only 4 stars (not her fault).
Honestly, the fisherman s pot was great! The food exceeded our expectations and the service was great. Despite the busy crowd that came in Christa handled the situation beautifully. Highly recommended!!
