The calamari was excellent But my mom was not happy with the lamb rack as the potatoes were way too garlicky and she wanted to send them back and maybe get a little greens or something instead as she couldn t eat them But the server did not seem to have very good customer service skills and would not do anything about it Both me and my mom are waitresses and if we were in her shoes, we would ve tried to make the guest happy so they would ve enjoyed their meal I guess this place was bought and sold to new owners recently so perhaps standards have gone down hopefully they will train their employees better because Penticton is definitely a town with a lot of restaurants and star service is key

Excellent food....steaks especially and HOT PLATES!!! The mains were presented perfectly, and veggies just right! Was pricey...280 for two, but we pigged OUUUUT! My wife luved the sizzling sirloin with blue cheese and onions on an iron plate. Only thing was, I got overcharged for my smaller sirloin. I WILL get even another day. Great deserts, too!

Have always liked this restaurant from few years back when it was one of the few fine dining places in Penticton. The new owners are doing great job! Laura is a very gracious hostess!!

Their website stated they are open until 9pm, called at 730 to place a pick up order and they were closed do not rely on their website or google hours

I went to the Cellar for the first time today. I had a happy hour wine which was a good price and okay wine. But I ordered a chicken and brie burger, which claimed to be grilled Chicken breast and double cream brie. The sandwich which came was chicken deli meat, like from a grocery deli and if there was brie on this sandwich i certain could not taste or see it. When you order a chicken and brie- there is an expectation of a chicken breast with creamy melted brie on it. This was more like a sandwich from a gas station. It was not cheap. The most disappointing meal I have had in a restaurant in years.

Only just recently started going there but I have been happy with the assortment of food Ive ordered, the penne is incredible and the cellar burger with fries is to die for! Servers are awesome too (especially Tim). All and all went there for the first time in January and have been back several times since.

Tim was amazing. Friendly, helpful and funny. Spanokopita was excellent, as was the wine. A great place for a visit. Highly recommend.

Amazing food and astounding presentation, cordial staff and nice ambiance

We visited the Cellar last night with friends and had an amazing time. Tim popped along to make sure we were happy, even though he wasn t even on shift. Amanda went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed and her service was second to none. And the food was fantastic! All 4 of us had different starters and main courses and every element was amazing. The atmosphere was great, classy location, love the NEW wine list. We will be back very soon!!!

This mediterranean gem is fantastic. The flaming cheese is a must try. We had our christmas staff party here last year and our experience was incredible. One of our go to restaurants in town for dates nights :)

Cocktails were just not good, bland food, very poor service, cooks not wearing masks, servers drinking leftover margaritas from the blender. Pasta tasted like milk. The reviews for this place must be either bought, friends or just fake. Spend your money literally anywhere else.

I cant rave enough about how amazing this place was! Everything we had was absolutely delicious from the starter to the main. Our server ocean was fantastic, very attentive and nice. John (the owner) comes across as a friendly, hospitable fellow, but each of the two times that he asked me to help him with the problems with his draught beer system, he wouldnt pay the entire invoice, citing problems that never existed. Well never provide this piker with service ever again.

Spanakopita was delicious! The fish tacos not to my taste. The waitress was nice but she rushed us with the order, and all true our dinner and while we where eating and some of us was already finished she was cleaning the table! Very annoying. The restaurant was not busy and we where out of there in under an hour. People where not waiting to get our tables.

Delightful. Greek salad was delicious. I had the lamb chops that is listed under starters. With the salad it made a perfect meal. I had asked for medium rare. They were well done but it didnt matter because they were very tender. Demi glace was perfect with the mash potatoes. Service was excellent as well.

We were so pleased to find this fabulous fine dining restaurant in Penticton. The menus has a great selection and our appetizers and main entrees were absolutely delicious. We ll definitely be coming here again.

New favourite spot in Penticton. Great cozy patio on Main Street with great drinks, prices, food, and service! Mixed cocktails and martinis were perfect. Prices better than most in town. Best Saganaki weve ever had. Server Tim was exceptional. Quick, efficient, and endearing. Happy Hour prices look great and well be back!

I have been to this establishment many times. I gone twice since the newer owners took over. It is sad what the place has become. The food is not even close to what it was, or the portions or the prices.

Worst treatment ever! We were greeted by a friendly young lady who seated us at the bar. Before we even got our drinks, the owner came out and without introduction or reason told us that we had to move. She was extremely rude and insulting, and judging by her garb and disheveled look we thought she was just a rude customer. We reluctantly moved to the other end of the bar only so that a couple that arrived after us could have our seats. The owner continued to be rude to us and gestured at us with the crazy sign. Minus 5 stars!

Have been eating here for 2 years and have enjoyed past experiences. After ordering lunch today, I will not be going back. Placed an order for myself and a friend for takeout. She has many allergies. One item that she has always been able to order with no alterations, came today with an item she is highly allergic to. When the polite waitress looked at the menu with me, it did show this item. But over the last 2 years when we have ordered it, it was never on there. So we were extremely shocked to see it this time. If it had been our mistake I would have apologized and paid to have it remade. But when the waitress explained this to the owner/cook he yelled obscenities loudly so the other customers in the restaurant could hear as well and called me a liar. His attitude and reaction were highly unappropriate and uncalled for. Will no be going back. You dont treat your customers like this.

A little cold with cars driving right beside us. The patio heater helped some but it was never turned up enough to do much good. The food was good but we were cold. They need to train servers that the mesh around the burners need to flow before they throw any heat. They are too cheap to tell them that though.

We ate here once before and it was fabulous so we decided to go here tonight for a sure thing dinner because we dont go out very often. Sadly disappointed. Stood at the blue line to be seated and had waiters and waitresses walk by without acknowledging us. We were eventually seated and it went downhill from there. Nothing offered to drink and no specials mentioned when we were seated. We read the menu, made our selections, closed the menus and waited until our waiter showed up. At that point he unfolded a piece of paper from his pocket and read us the specials (again, after wed finally decided what to eat), and asked us if wed like a drink and took our dinner orders. Our drinks were finished during our appetizer. When the waiter took the plate he left, then later returned with our dinner and then asked if wed like another drink and we said yes. Dinner was served and finished and still no drinks. I had the stuffed chicken which was dry and tasted only and strongly of cooked spinach. Wifes salmon was also overcooked. Waiter never checked on us at any point during our meals to see if things were okay or he would have been told that both meals were overcooked. We finally flagged down another waitress and cancelled the drinks after dinner because they still hadnt arrived our waiter finally came to us and offered us something complimentary but we were completely put off at this point. His excuse for not brining us drinks was that they must have been lost in the mix. Either a poorly trained new waiter and a weak chef who shouldnt be serving at a top restaurant. Very disappointed especially after our first experience being the opposite. When factoring the prices vs the quality and service this time, we wont be back unfortunately. Also, Trip Advisor has reviews of them and it shows the price range of meals as being up to $35/CDN. Many of the entrees start above this price, the highest being a 12 oz steak for $48 so be aware that its far more expensive than they are showing there.

The Greek salad was amazing, but the charcuterie board a disgrace to the wine bar name that they try and call themselves. If you want to pay $30 for cheap orange cheddar, feta cheese and cheap garlic sausage, and a cut up apple as your charcuterie board, then eat here. Don t worry, if you complain to the manager they will be super rude and blame you for their lack of service after the server doesn t come to your table for your entire meal/manager never comes.

Well earned 5 stars. Im not much of a steak guy but this was one the best steaks Ive ever had.

I have removed one star for the wait. 1h wait for the filled chicken and there was almost nobody in the restaurant. Second, the restaurant is a bit pricey, but I must tell the meal was very good. The waiter / waitress was kind too. However, I would have appreciated being advised of such a wait before I order. Also, please provide some bread or snacks when you realize there was a problem with an order. Thanks

Beautiful restaurant and good food but that is where it ended for us. Our group of 8 waited 2 hours for our food to arrive with no apologies whatsoever. The server was good but the manager was extremely rude to us. The waitress asked the kitchen and they said it will be ready when it is ready. Good food takes time is what the manager told us while everyone around us got their food and left. We were still waiting. No comps, nothing. We had ordered 2 bottles of wine and expected at least 1 bottle on the house. Very disappointed.

Our group of 8 were seated on time at 7pm. Our wine order arrived in a timely manner and we ordered our food and then we waited. Other people came, ordered, ate and left and we were still waiting for our food. Our waitress was great and talked to the kitchen and was told the food would be there when it was there. After about 1 and a half hours, we spoke to the manager who was rude and told us good food takes time to make! She was totally unapologetic. Our food finally arrived after 2 hours and was very good. However, we received no apology nor any offer of free wine or anything else. It was very disappointing!

Appetizer scallops were very flavourful, even if a little overcooked. The ahi tuna special was delicious. The rice it came with tasted like it came from a package. Overall, it was a great meal with no room for dessert .

Decided to give The Cellar a shot after spending time on the Bench. We were able to get a reservation last minute, albeit on a Thursday, and we were so happy we did. Excellent service, wonderful food and a menu that made me reminisce about my time spent in Greece. These chefs dont fool around. The quality of the ingredients is fantastic, the flavors are wonderful and the wine list is an excellent representation of the local wineries. I strongly suggest you give it a try!

Ended up here randomly looking for somewhere to have lunch. The patio was great and the service was awesome. Ordered the burger and all I can say is WOW. Definitely one of the best restaurant burgers Ive had. Great fries too. Would definitely go back to try more of the food.

We were not able to dine. We called to make reservation but phone was disconnected. Went to the restaurant which was really full. No signage saying wait to be seated so when we went to the bar a lady was quite short with us. We were told we needed to wait for a seat, when we explained we didnt know as there was no signage she stated well that should be a given. She then told us we couldnt dine as we didnt have a reservation and told us to call. When we explained we did she then said if they are full for the evening they take it off the hook. All things we had no idea about. I understand they are short staffed and stretched, there is signage stating it all over, however we were unimpressed with how we were treated as tourists, looking to support this particular establishment. We apologized for not knowing and went to a different place. We did not go back there this trip as we really didnt feel welcomed.

Second time visiting on vacation and impressed both times. Restaurant is very Covid aware and diligent with safety measures. The lamb chops were superb, the best I ve had in a long time. The service from the older lady at the front door/ lady who served us was rude after we arrived 3 minutes late because we are not from Penticton and were trying to figure out how to download the app for parking. She stated that its almost 5 after. She also did not check for ID or our vaccine passports. Her service was poor and she was very short. And in a rush to get us out the door. There was some confusion about when the dinner menu started and she scoffed and walked away. Loved the food, but would reconsider revisiting. Not sure if I would recommend this to a friend.

Well as someone who has a passion for cooking and basic food safe standards I d say microwaving food to thaw out for fresh food is honestly embarrassing, it s a dirty kitchen honestly only kitchen job I ever walked out on in 8 years of experience

Worst service ever 20 people for my moms birthday (it was a reservation!) and cant get a drink kids food comes out last and burger is burnt servers ignored you you absolutely the worst resturant experience ever last time was amazing thats why we came back and total dissapointment this time! Most of the food was amazing but the kids food was terrible!

Got seated pretty fast then sat at our table for about 20 mins before a server even acknowledge us and said that she would be by. We wait for another 15 mins with still no one even coming to take our drink order or greet us. We eventually just left because none of the servers even cared to help us despite walking past us multiple times. The restaurant was also relatively empty so why we were left without so much as a hello from our server us astonishing. Definitely will not being coming back.

Mainly good food and friendly service. The Moroccan lamb was delicious but the fish taco starters were heavy on the salad with very little fish and not much flavor. The concept is confusing. Its a wine bar but there is a saddle near the bar. The menu has many Greek dishes but they also serve steak. The tv shows rodeo. Is it trying to be all things to all people? The place was very quiet on a Wednesday but looked busier on a Thursday.

To start with, the calamari was overcooked and was quite small with only 3 pieces of jalapeno in the entire dish. Drinks were ok. My $42 steak was served sizzling in a fajita platter, smoking out the entire table as I had to eat it quickly before it overcooked in front of me. The crispy onions quickly absorbed all the moisture on the platter and were soon too soggy to eat. Also, my vegetables with the dish were served on a separate plate so I sat there watching them get cold while waiting for the steak, which I didnt even finish. It somehow had no flavor. The blue cheese butter I was looking forward to was basically not existent. Like other reviews have stated, the fish tacos were 85% lettuce. To top it all off, the couple we were with got their food first and were completely finished their meal before we received ours. We voiced our concerns but were not given any comps on the bill.

We never base our service on how people are dressed, being as we often deal with guests who come in from the lake and are in tshirts, shorts/swimsuits. We recognize that every customer is important. We feel disappointed that you were not satisfied with your service, however, abusive language is not acceptable, regardless of how you feel about your service. No one deserves to be treated in such a manner, and although we are disappointed that the service was not to your liking, we, and all the patrons who witnessed the incident are equally offended by your behavior. Mostly we are offended by your lack of understanding and appreciation of someone who works in the service industry, regardless of what you think she or anyone earns.

A picture says a million words and I just dont have one to share! We sat on the patio during the later part of the evening where they allowed our 4 month old puppy to enjoy people watching and smells with us. Our waitress was so nice! Quick! Orders were great and personable. Though they were out of the oh so popular Greek Lamb roast the 8oz steak was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender it just melted in your mouth. They subbed out the mash for the classic Greek lemon roasted potatoes and flavorful seasonable vegetables. Definitely recommend and we will be back again!

Love this place so much, great atmosphere and the food is divine. Favorites are the dolmades and halibut entree. This wine pictured was to die for along with the halibut.

Service was okay but WOW. Amazing gluten free food!
