Came here December 11, 2024 with my husband, my parents and our 16 month old son to celebrate two of our birthdays. The service was phenomenal, our food was delectable and the wine and cocktails were fabulous. Thank you again for an amazing meal and being welcoming to our little one.
We celebrated a birthday here and had an amazing, unforgettable evening. The service was outstanding – attentive and friendly, making us feel truly welcomed. The food was some of the best we’ve ever tasted, each dish packed with incredible flavors. The view from the window was breathtaking, adding to the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The wine selection was fantastic and complemented our meal perfectly. Overall, it was a wonderful night, and we can’t wait to come back!
The views 10/10 The food waw we ordered carpaccio, fried chicken with kimshi and potatoes 10/10. Even the burger was wow, the meat is fresh. One of the few places we dont have a comment on. The servers were perfecr. Totally recommend for a date or slow sunday
Definitely the best restaurant across the board we had the pleasure of visiting in the area. Food, atmosphere, view, and service are all amazing! I highly recommend enjoying a meal here but make sure you book a reservation as they're very busy. The Holler Honey Buns are delicious. I also loved the Farmer Greens salad which was surprising large and great for sharing. I enjoyed all three mains we tried with various highlights in each of the Wild BC Salmon, Dry-aged Duck Breast, and Grass-fed Striploin. I strongly recommend the Buttermilk Panna Cotta for dessert. Both the covered patio area and the inside tables are nice with great views although the outside is probably the best. There is a great grassy area for kids to play on or for adults to take a few scenic photos at during your meal. There are also four EV destination chargers in the parking area.
Food is amazing, I was on a work trip and ended up at Poplar twice for dinner. You won't be disappointed.
We dined at the Poplar Grove to celebrate our birthdays. What a stunning and beautiful place! The food and views was spectacular! We had reservations and was seated right away. We were also greeted by a wonderful glass of Monster Brut to start our birthday celebration. Wow! Delicious!! We ordered Confit Halibut and Honey Buns, Wild BC Salmon, Grass-fed Striploin and Ricotta Stozzapetti. All the dishes was fabulous. Executed to perfection. We will definitely be coming back to sample more food and wine!!
We have been coming here everytime we visit from Alberta (even the early days of the vanilla pod) and I can say hands down it is my favourite restaurant. The food is always outstanding and the service is the best you will find without feeling pretentious. My husband is a pilot and we often talk about skipping over the mountains just for a lunch here. Don't hesitate and book that reservation!
I had lunch here with my mom. From start to finish, the service we received was exceptional. She was very attentive and on pointe with timing, recommendations, and pairings. The patio has a beautiful view. The food was phenomenal, we shared the burrata salad, I had the salmon and my mom had the mushroom pasta. 👌👌
Wonderful setting and great food
Don t know what the fuss is. Chef may have been off the night our party of 6 attended. The striploin tasted like spam, the halibut and salmon were dry, the duck breast too smothered in sauce to appreciate and the porcini pasta had enough salt to choke a horse. Despite an abundance of servers (most wearing their game faces) we had to keep asking for water to quench the salt overload. Appies were OK but minuscule for the price and honey buns good but really? any bakery will do. Finally, the wine the pinot was good but there are better bottles of shiraz at the BCLDB for under $12. Sorry guys, you ll have to do better - beautiful views and good food shouldn t be mutually incompatible.
I enjoyed a lovely birthday meal recently. The food had colour, height and eye appeal with great seasonal flavor profiles. Our server Juniper was very professional and attentive. The maitre d Gabrielle was eloquent and attentive. Compliments to the culinary team for a superb experience. I will definitely return.
Amazing to food, great service and beautiful views
Delicious ~ great scenery
This is not our first lunch at Poplar Grove, but probably our best. It was nice to be so warmly welcomed back by Sabrina and Lauren and our server Jennifer was very good and knowledgeable. The chefs, Stacy and Minette are excellent, I would highly recommend having a lunch at Poplar Grove and enjoy the view (the wine s not bad either)
Amazing restaurant. Every aspect was fantastic.
Quite legitimately the best food and service in the Okanagan. Visited 4 times now and each time everything is lights out. Food, service, wine(obviously wine ) can t be beat. Just sooooo friggen good. Sheesh didn t even remember to mention the view! Get there for the sunset! Thank you for having us and hope to be back again soon!
Neither good nor bad (although one might expect more for the price). I cannot recommend, sorry.
Amazing food and absolutely stunning views!!
My boyfriend took me here for dinner on my birthday and it was honestly one of the greatest dining experiences we ve shared. Our server, Jennifer s timing was perfect and her wine/food knowledge was impeccable! She helped me find dishes that were dairy free and started us with a couple of half glasses of the Monster Brut to celebrate the special occasion. All of the food was delicious and the scenery was incredible. Everything was reasonably priced as well!
This was the best meal we have had on our Canada trip so far. We enjoyed it very much. Everything tasted excellent, the wine is very good. The service was super friendly and helpful. Perfect!
We had an amazing experience dining at Poplar Grove. Gorgeous outdoor dining & grounds with friendly service and exceptional food. Totally exceeded my expectations I will definitely be back!
Exquisite food, breathtaking view, and great service. Perfect combination.
Awesome views!! Great food. Fabulous events. The wine is great
We went to Poplar Grove for a date lunch prior to touring Naramata Bench, the food was delicious and the service was great! It isnt the cheapest, but is high quality, unique and well crafted food, in a beautiful spot, with warm welcoming staff. We also had a great wine tasting afterwards.
I rarely give 5 stars, so this is pretty good for me. What I liked: The parsnip (turnip?) gnocchi were genius; cant wait to try that myself. Gnocchi can easily get too fluffy or too dense. These were perfect. They were slightly fried, which was also a great idea. The dried (maybe roasted?) sage leaves went wonderfully with the cheesy sauce. The service was friendly, casual yet with excellent manners. When there was a miscommunication about an item, it was immediately taken care of. I liked that the restaurant manager interacted with the tables. The atmosphere was unpretentious but obviously with great care taken to create a relaxed, comfortable and overall very enjoyable experience for a restaurant in this price range. I especially liked how the tables were placed - just far enough from each other so that you couldnt overhear other peoples conversation, but not so far from each other that the place feels cavernous. The artwork was interesting, and the chairs comfortable (I have a thing about chairs :)) It was fun to watch two new staff members being trained - extra entertainment! Also, the bathroom had an absolutely lovely soap. What could use some improvement: The wait staff was very nice but maybe not super knowledgeable about either food or wine. Im not sure she understood how to interpret my comments about a slight dairy sensitivity, and didnt get the impression she was well versed in wine pairing, which resulted in a forgettable Chardonnay. The morels with the gnocchi were a disappointment - they were obviously recently rehydrated, and had lost pretty much all of their aroma. Also, I thought I had read that the chickory for the salad was grilled but it wasnt - but maybe I misread that. And I was surprised that we werent offered the choice of shading in front of the wonderful, big panorama windows - I had to move around a bit to avoid the glare in my old eyes. This place was recommended to us by a sommelier friend of mine, and Id definitely recommend it to others. Good price to value ratio, and superb setting.
Best dinner Ive ever had! The food was delicious with its amazing flavors that paired with one another (and the wine!) in harmonious ways. Our waiter Spencer was friendly, knowledgeable, and personable as he pair a smooth Chardonnay with my savory roasted chicken with morel mushroom sauce. The chefs here have created a sensational menu and after tonight, I cannot recommend the Warm Hollar Honey Buns enough!! I would highly recommend for a memorable time out!
Dining at this restaurant is always a wonderful experience. Both food and service are outstanding and dont get me started about the wines..
Breath taking view, incredible food, great staff, what more could you want? Such an ideal place and overall amazing experience! Thanks for knocking out of the park Poplar Grove!
Just perfect!!
Simply delicious food and wines. And the views are amazing.
Excellent food. Went for dinner and had the pork belly and halibut. Both did not disappoint. Best pork belly I ve ever had and would love to go back.
This was actually the best food I think I ve ever had. I would go back to penticton just for this food. The honey butter buns and sirloin entree were amazing.
Wonderful view. Delicious food. Great wine. Awesome staff. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Back again, and the food and experience was a great as the first time. Thank you Spencer for providing great service.
We brought American friends here and had a fabulous dinner. Our server, Spencer, was pitch perfect and made our evening so enjoyable. This restaurant is in a spectacular setting. We ve been a couple of times before for lunch but watching the sunset over dinner is pretty special.
The environment and food are very good! I feel that their chefs are quite skilled and their service is also very good. Their Syrah is very good and the wine is very full-bodied! After comparing several wineries, I still think his is the best!
A magnificent view. The food was good - salmon a lttle bland. Service brought it down from a 5. Curiously wouldnt permit a wine tasting at 5:50 p.m. even though it is listed as open until 6:30 p.m. Said they needed 45 minutes (?). Uncuriously we did not do what we were going to do - purchase wine.
Incredible croutons
Gorgeous location! The terrace with the lake view is fantastic. The food was good, the quality was great but I didnt find it particularly special for that level of price.
A must stop place for dinner in the region. The food is incredible, I really appreciated that their menu had such diverse options and creative options. I didn t feel like I was having a basic chicken or beef dish with some wine. The snack options are the perfect bites to start the evening - highly recommend the crispy prawn toast. Between the snacks and small plates you have so many options before even getting to your main. And the wine at Poplar is so lovely. It s one of the most beautiful restaurants I ve dined at. The views are incredible. The service was impeccable. Very attentive. And to wrap up the night - get their ice cream sandwich. Great place to stop in, enjoy great food and wine and a beautiful picturesque location.
