All the food was amazing, staff was friendly, the restaurant was very clean and service was fast! Can t wait to come here again! Vegetarian options: They have plenty and a whole page of vegan options!!!

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants. I love their meal combos. But also their individual rolls. We go here pretty frequently.

Delicious ramen- I am no ramen connoisseur, and they helped guide me to make the perfect ramen soup! Very helpful, great service, and they gave us an extra treat!

Ordered some ramen and gyoza to be delivered through Skip the Dishes and unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The ramen was bland and flavorless. The gyoza was soggy and seemed overly saturated in oil. There are many better options for Japanese food in Penticton so I wouldnt recommend eating here.

We were driving back to Vancouver after a mini vacation in Westbridge and like clock work I had a craving for sushi. Decided to try this restaurant out and used their online ordering system. We ordered a spicy tuna cone, sashimi, chicken teriyaki roll and one other roll that I cant recall the name of. Our order was ready on time, and a quick transaction with a courteous employee. The rolls and cone were out of this world, with a different spin then Im use to here in Vancouver. No negatives other then pricing, but lets be honest where can you go now a days for an inexpensive meal. Will definitely be back!

Decent sushi for Penticton. We come here at least once when we come to town. For those who don t like fish, there are also some nice bowl options. Dietary restrictions: Able to get some dairy, but, gluten and egg free options with some of the dishes

The food was really salty. I only has a 2 bite and cant eat anymore.

Went as a family today. Hands down the worst dining experience we ve experienced in a long time. The food was disgusting. No flavour and saturated in oil .Probably the worst sushi I have ever eaten. Very westernized. Best part of the meal was the candy s they gave with the bill.

Isshin is the best Japanese restaurant ever in town. Lots of variations and all tasty food, you could tell they are using fresh ingredients. Great service and all staff are accommodating. Kudos to the owner who is always friendly to interact with the customer. Great Job will be back again more often.

Very challenging to eat here if you are Vegan. They have vegan offerings but they could be in contact with fish.

Best sushi in Okanagan! Highly recommend this place, must try if you visit penticton! Kid-friendliness: They have kids menu and yummy ramen noodles. My kids love it!

Went for a Sunday family lunch. We ordered the veggie/prawn tempura, chicken kaarage, taoyki, kids beef teryaki and the pork tonkatsu ramen w the spicy chili oil addon w a pineapple express cocktail. Everything was delicious, the food came out quick, my cocktail did not come out quick but it was a proper cocktail. The ramen was really good but the spicy chili oil was very mild, like a 1/10 on the spice scale. It seemed kind of dull, dark and boring in there for a sushi bar. Totally would come back.

Isshin used to be good food. Not today, tasteless and bland. I had lunch from 11:30 to 12:10. I was the only seated customer. No one came in to pick up. Time to move on.

Best sushi in the Okanagan! Sean is an amazing host and is very friendly and skilled. The staff is super friendly and their service is top notch. The menu is huge with tons of options and they re ALL incredibly good, there s no other restaurant that matches the quality of their food. The Takoyaki is super delicious! The ramen and wonton soups are insanely good, but the best is the sushi! Tons of options and big portions! You can get 24 huge pieces of sushi plus tuna karaage for 20 bucks! The best roll is the Ogopogo imo, super tasty. These guys can t miss

Dragon roll was good but the sunomono salad was so salty not edible

Isshin is my go to place! I love the menu selection, especially the easy to find vegan menu. I definitely have my usual order, but the food and the service never disappoint me! I love having the option to order online..... And I love that they care about the environment enought to use non plastic bags for take out. Thanks Isshin, see you soon!

Sadly not as good as Ginza. Was disappointed in the texture of the rolls. Waitress was fast and helpful and checked up on us lots.

One of my favorite sushi places in town. I came here on a few dates. Very good selection and the combo platters are nice. The sushi was very fresh and delicious. I would definitely come here again. The location is very good too and parking was easy. I would like to try as much on the menu as possible as their meals are very delicious and make great content for Google Maps. The staff are very kind and courteous. The atmosphere is pleasant. Thank you.

Probably the worst sushi Ive ever had. Definitely the worst sunomono by far. The beef teriyaki was inedible. Chopped scallop was quite fishy tasting. Gave two stars for service only because they took 20% off for the bad teriyaki. Will not visit here again. Both my husband and I had mild food poisoning. Such a shame because the venue is nice, in a nice location, and inside was very clean looking. Ill stick to sushi heaven. Unfortunately they were closed today when we went to town.

If I could give minus stars I would. The worst sushi I have ever tasted with smelt bad and wasnt as ordered at all. Felt like a child made it. The spicy salmon literally just had sriracha on the top of each piece. And the California roll which should have cream cheese and imitation crab had none

They get a large parking lot, friendly and clean place. Go here as want eat ramen, but most Japanese store close after 7:30PM. Order a Sashimi, one role and one Ramen. The noodle is too soft, the pork task ok. The egg I don t like it. Compare the ramen with other store I go in Vancouver, this can only say ok.

Checked reviews from out of town .got the sushi platter, checked reviews, platter was all rice with just bits of fish & veggies. Very disappointing. At these prices, please make it better.

Tried this place out for dinner and it didn t impress. The roll was bland, even with lots of sauce. The salmon was tough and the toro was filled with a large chunk the size of a pencil eraser. Won t go back. Service was just okay.

I ordered Beef Ph , well the ingredients were all there. I found adding raw red onion was odd. The beef was over-cooked and the broth hardly had any flavor. Probably a dish I would not order again.

Every time I come in Im blown away. Such amazing food, service and place to eat. The best sashimi in town, bar none. The salmon and tuna is just brilliant. Its so wonderful to watch the owners take extra special care of everyone and especially the kids. These folks are hands down some of the nicest and most sincere people who will ever serve you. I highly recomend everything on the menu, the j boat, the lunch and dinner boxes and of course the tastiest, most outstanding sashimi available. Thank you for another of many great meals. Whenever we go from Osoyoos to Penticton, we always stop here for a lunch or dinner specifically for sushi. Always fresh, delicious and beautifully designed.

Ordered take out. Spent 95$ We were told 20-30 min. We came back and waited 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. When we were finally spoken to we were greeted with ya? What do you want? I replied saying we ordered take out and waiting to pick up. She just walked away. I figured it wasnt ready, so I just waited. Another couple came in waited, no service and left. I finally went up to ask again and was told with rolled eyes that out food is right here. Not once did anyone tell us we had to go hunting for our order. When we opened our sushi, it was flavorless and bland. It had an odd after taste. I personally had chicken teriyaki with rice, the sauce was not teriyaki. It was very sweet and not the right flavors to teriyaki. The chicken was extremely dry and tasted like it was a day old. All in all I would not recommend this place. Worst service Ive experienced in along time

I had a great dining experience with my family. Food was delicious with good sized portions and a large menu and assortment of Asian cuisine to choose from. Their service was friendly and curtious. This was not our first time there and definately wont be our last. I Highly recommend it to all who come to or live in Penticton. Vegetarian options: We requested one totally plant based dish however there were plenty of assorted vegan options on the menu. Dietary restrictions: We requested one Gluten free dish.

Amazing sushi! The assorted sashimi plate was so good, it had the best scallops and squid. The spicy tuna and salmon rolls with the house-made sauce are to die for! A great supper while on holiday.

They should be using environmentally friendly take out containers but they use single use plastic. Kid-friendliness: They gave our kids popsicles which was nice.

This is pretty basic sushi. Everything is pre cut. I got a roll with tempura shrimp in it and that had been fried prior to making the roll so the batter was soft and mushy. Salmon roll was made from slim pickin s. Some of it was mushy. Almost like spicy salmon minus the spice. Low effort, low quality. Slow service.

Admittedly it was quite busy. It took us 20 minutes to even get menus from our waitress. Which she only gave to us as she overheard us discussing leaving to eat elsewhere. She took our orders decently fast, I changed mine from the party tray to a basic combo after she told me there would be an extended wait for it. My wife and daughter got their order as I waited for my roll combo. Finally after they were both eating she came over and asked if we were done to which I replied no, I haven t even received my food yet . To which she hurried over to the sushi bar and I over heard her admit fault (not to me but to the cook) and that she didn t even enter my order! As we were already over an hour into this experience I told her to bring me the bill and forget about my food. I was offered a mango popsicle as an apology which I declined also and left hungry and annoyed. My family and I will not be returning.

Great value and delicious sushi

Our rice was hard and cold, wasabi was tasteless, Agadashi tofu tasted like old dusty deep fryer. I ve had better from Costco. I hope people filter reviews by date as I didn t and clearly there s been chef/ownership changes. Food

Service is wonderful. Very kind. The sushi and sides are great. Pho is alright, but not Vitnamese style so keep that in mind! The restaurant is tidy and although so busy we got our food very fast!

I ordered some rolls among other items off of skip from here and was thoroughly disappointed and disgusted. i ordered the beef teriyaki and the beef bulgogi rolls and the avocado was mushy, it did not taste like teriyaki sauce on the roll, the sauce was also a little on the clumpy side. i got to the bulgogi roll and about 3 pieces in i found what i am hoping was a beard hair in the rice of the roll. to say i was just disgusted would be an understatement. i lost all appetite and could not finish the rest of my food. i also ordered the beef pho for my father and he said the broth was bland and was over all disappointed. will not be ordering from here again

We always enjoy the food, but service is uneven, sometimes great, sometimes not.

Everything in the menu is kind of the same. I ordered a lunch combo, specialty roll, nigotoro roll - it all felt like it was one giant roll, no difference in what was ordered. The food was good, but I want to taste the difference in the rolls. The nigotoro roll had too much tuna on top, it was unappetizing, the tuna should just be in the roll, and it would be much cleaner and visually appealing (there was a mountain of tuna mix put on top each piece, which is great to not waste what was mixed up, but too much to serve, the topping shouldnt be bigger than the roll itself. There was too much hot sauce mayo everywhere. Also, order chicken karage, it was delicious! The chef was more attentive than the waitress. The chef came out and gave the kids a treat; he was very kind and warm.

We went in search of sushi. Almost every other place in this small area is closed on Mondays except this one. Its accessible with a ramp at both entrances but the main entrance ramp is steep. The food was really good. The service was awkward but it seemed that a few servers were new so cut them some slack. The prices are higher than were accustomed to but thats what happens when you want sushi more than 100km from the shore Well be back.

I remember moving to Penticton with my girlfriend and trying out all the sushi places, Isshin stood out above the rest, spectacular Food and beyond friendly staff! They make their food with love. Everything we have eaten from there has been amazing, seriously good quality sushi, and the best spicy mayo Ive had. Shaun does an amazing job running that place and its always a joy to see him.

I was recommended this restaurant during my trip to Penticton by a local friend. I had a pleasant surprise with the quality of food (Rolls, Ramen, Udon and Sunomono). I will visit here every time when I am visiting Penticton.

Was very excited to try isshin so I got the Tonkotsu ramen and salmon oyako roll, the ramen isn t too bad but sadly wasn t up to my standards, it was very bland, I got the kimchi with it as well but it somewhat tasted like sweaty pork water and the rolls were not good, in 2 pieces I pulled out about 5 or more bones from the salmon, I could only finish one more of the rolls because I kept gagging from the bones and unpleasant taste, I have not had an experience like this with any other sushi or ramen place so im greatly disappointed because I spent 40$ on it, I will stick with kojo/Koya from now on because they are cheaper and have better food.

Take out was so delicious, that I felt the need to review. Their sauces are spectacular. We ordered a ton of items, everything was fresh, perfectly prepared and the tempura was even crunchy despite the car ride home. They did make a mistake with my nigiri order and sent Fish Roe instead of Unagi, so theres still room for improvement, but all in all, I will be ordering here all summer. Thanks for the delicious meal!

Great Japanese food.

UPDATE April 24, 2021 After eating for many years and many many times, watching the original owners grow their sushi business from a Deli front on Main to their location of Front St, our family was a little apprehensive about the new owners that took over. Today was test day. First off, we noticed they are now open straight through from 11am to 8pm as opposed to before where they closed for an afternoon break between the lunch rush and dinnertime. Perfect, we often crave a quick fix for sushi at 3pm after picking up kidlet from school. We ordered our usuals which is their well priced karaages (deep fried), their tempura, California roll, nigiri and tuna and salmon sashimi. We were pleasantly surprised the new owners were obviously trained by the old owners to carry on the traditions, As for the karaage, my daughter and I agree, its the same but a little better than before. I think they refined the seasoning combo a little. Conclusion, we were happy the new owners are careful to not alienate their customer base and we will definitely be back to support them! (2020) This is a great little gem of a sushi restaurant in Penticton. The restaurant is owned and operated by a Japanese family. Their prices are reasonable and they have great bento lunch boxes. Fresh and well portioned. Definitely recommend.

- California Rolls had more cucumber than crab meat I could not taste the crab in some of them - Hot sushi and cold sushi were packed together - Sushi in two seperate packages were squished into the wasabi -Rice was gooey

Our sushi was excellent. Side of Kimchi excellent. Our big complaint was the Katsu. Breading was soggy with whatever sauce/egg thing they just tossed on top. It shows some kind of kitchen disconnect where the sushi is carefully constructed with fine ingredients but the cooked food fell so short. The wait staff was pleasant but I guess they were training new folks and they had a little fiasco which, I suppose, added some awkward entertainment.

No flavor/bland - Fish didnt feel fresh relative to other places in town (mushy and off tasting at times). This was my second time trying. First time was a few weeks ago and was just as bad during lunch time.

My family and I were traveling back from our vacation resort when we found this incredible place. The food was amazing. The service was great and the udon noodles were my absolute favourite. I would definitely come back if I have time.

Ordered Teriyaki chicken & beef bento box - They used white meat instead of a dark meat chicken. Edo tasted better. Also tried their sushi boat , its ok not much to get excited about. Dont order ceasar (cocktail) as its really spicy and can barely taste tomato. Not an instagramable place as they dont have any japanese booths or anything, its like eating on a dim cafeteria. Servers are nice tho and food were quickly served. Parking: There is a parking space for customers

Value for money and the staff were very nice. They even gave us on the house dessert when we dine in their restaurant.. Definitely we will go back here.

Dirty tables when I came in and not many people there was not very inviting. Ive never had such horrible Unagi or prawn tempura. Also the spinach wasnt very good. I must say though that the Sunumono salad was very good and the rolls were amazing.

The miso ramen with chicken is hands down my favourite but the sushi is good too. Everything Ive tried is fresh and delicious.
