I can say with confidence this was the best sushi platter I've had the pleasure of eating. Everything was very fresh, and perfectly done Presentation was great as you can see, and the staff was all very friendly and inviting to everybody This is the sushi you are looking for!
We were a captive audience as there are not many places to eat in walking distance in this area. Relieved to find that the food was good and service was kind. They mostly do take out, so there is not much for atmosphere, but one of the staff came and gave us a couple of pocky sticks just because - nice touch. Still wondering what the "burrito" would taste like!
Love this place for sushi! Stop by after spending the day at Skaha beach. Order in advance, as they are always busy.
It was pretty good, the staff were nice. Our group had all different things and liked all but the tuna crunch roll I think. They have good gluten free options, including chicken teriyaki rolls or a bowl. I had a chicken teriyaki roll and a yam and avacodo roll, both were good. They do not have gf tempura so the yam was cooked differently and was a bit hard. They did have gf soya sauce and confirmed that it was celiac when they gave it to me.
A little heart warming real Japanese restaurant, very friendly staff. Serving selections of some iconic cuisines from Sushi rolls, Ramen, Burritos to Poke. High quality ingredients, fresh made, fresh served. They have dine in and take out options, wine/sake also available here.
This is one of those places you don’t expect too much from… until you actually experience it. Right off the door, the staff here is welcoming and friendly, and ready to answer any questions regarding their menu. This place serves their signature house soy sauce, amongst other in-house made things, and that already gives it a huge advantage in comparison to other places. While to some this may not be crucial, I find options on their menu so well balanced that a store-bought soy sauce would just kill the flavours with its saltiness. I’ve tried a few of their sushi rolls, which I all liked. They use great quality, fresh veg & fresh fish. Sushi rice is made well and is not overcooked. The portions are generous and they don’t cheap out on the expensive ingredients. But… the main discovery here was their ramen. Foodies and anyone looking for a delicious, comforting, warm & nourishing gourmet experience… you MUST try it. This place takes most Vancouver ramen places off the ramen map. Keep it up, guys!
Japanese food is my weakness since child hood cause I am Japanese anime fan and I used to wonder how this Japanese sushi will be or Ramen will be, since I was in India and we didn’t had any exposure for this cuisine at that time I used to crave a lot. But since I moved to Canada I have tried so many Japanese restaurants from all you can eat to ramen places and I have loved it and have developed my taste for this beautiful cuisine for last six years. I was visiting few friends in Osoyoos, British Columbia for few days and that time I have visited this restaurant. Recommended by my friends cause it was their favourite Japanese restaurant. And I personally loved this place, staff was nice, food was great and we had good time here. They have great variety of menu. Usually we don’t find sushi and ramen together in most of the specialty restaurants but yes this place have them both. This is causal restaurant with self service with limited area. Which I think is the only drawback but rest everything is so perfect. Kind of fast food place but excellent Japanese food and service. Must visit if your from this town or visiting this place. Food was great and they had a big selection of Ramen, some Poke, and a handful of sushi rolls (would have liked to see more). A bit confusing when you walk in the door, you don’t really know what’s going on and if you should sit down or order right away. We had to ask the staff how to order and realized that they don’t take your order but rather you have to go to the counter. Food was overall really great and fresh, also came rapidly!

The soup and noodles are good. The smell of the chicken was so strong that I couldnt eat it.
We actually wanted to eat in the restaurant first, but it has more of a takeaway character. Thats why we decided to take the food with us. The service was rather inattentive and would have forgotten our food on the shelf even though he saw us several times. We only received our take away boxes when we asked. The sushi itself was very sticky, you couldnt separate the individual pieces without breaking the roll and losing the contents. The nori sheets were also very tough.

On holidays and stopped here for lunch when we arrived to Penticton! Staff was very kind, food was incredible and good sized portions for the price. Will surely visit again to try a new dish next time

Nice food, well excuted
I came here to buy the Kizuna Sauce, yum yum yum. While I was here I tried the Kojo roll and the salmon and avocado roll, both were tasty and reasonably priced. I would absolutely come back for a meal and definitely for more sauce when Im in town.
staff are so kind, i wasn t in the mood to chat with staff but they were chatting with other customers and seemed extremely friendly. you order at the front counter instead of at the table, which i quite like. the food was excellent, i had a dynamite roll and the tempura was so crispy and the avocado (which i don t usually like) was creamy and fresh. the store itself was clean and tidy. i didn t really like the metal cups though haha!
Always a Treat! I ve been a customer at Kojo Penticton for years. Recently, I had a fantastic sushi platter with their Kyzuna spice mayo just perfect! The sushi is always fresh, and the atmosphere is welcoming. No matter the weather, the staff ensures you have a great experience. I always look forward to coming back whenever I m in Penticton.
Great place with vegan and gluten free options. Always friendly, a little bit pricey, but what isnt nowadays! The restaurant is small inside so there isnt always seating immediately available, and they are usually busy because they are so good! Vegetarian options: Decent selection of vegetarian and vegan. Dietary restrictions: Decent selection of gluten free with gf soy sauce. Parking: Parking lot is small, but there is parking on street available.
The sushi here is amazing and consistent. I just recently ordered the sushi platter, it was huge and worth every dollar. Their spicy ramen is also super tasty. They even sell sauces, I would recommend grabbing a bottle of their spicy mayo! They give you such a warm and positive welcome every single time, wether youre picking up or dining in. Its a wonderful atmosphere and delicious food!

Im used to the all you can eat sushi places and such but this was hands down the best I have had! We had so many different things from chow mein to Ramen bowls and rolls and such the portions were so worth the price! Definitely will be back!

Food here is quite good. However on two occasions when I have placed an order over the phone to be picked up, when I arrive they tell me that they never received my order. No explanation is offered and nobody offers to take my order in person. This is not just poor service, its no service.
Food is delicious and LOVE the service here. Greeted upon entry and exit with an excited Arigato!! Etc. I know they do it for everyone yet it still makes you feel special and I giggle and feel all happy inside everytime! Ha! If youre picking up to go, I recommend ordering ahead if its during popular dinner times as there can be a few minute wait and the entrance area can get a little crowded lol great little place though. Love it! (Also, Ive witnessed them deal with difficult customers and they handled it with poise and absolute politeness showing not an ounce of frustration.

Really nice place to go, sushi are amazing! Will go again for sure! I was a bit surprised with the loud welcome (I presume)and thank you (arigato) for everyone in the restaurant but I got used to it quite fast!

Kojo is always a treat. Everyone greets you, as you walk through the door. Cashier staff is always good. Food comes in a short amount of time. Never had any bad food here. Always consistent. One of favorite places for Sushi.

A week or so ago I posted a not so great review of Sushi Kojo. Im happy to update by saying it must have been an off day for the chef. My recent visit where I got tempura and a couple of rolls, was back to their normal exceptional standard. As I believe it was a one off, Ive redacted the previous review. Well done Khan and staff!

The food is briliant, the service is very fast and the staff welcome everyone coming in and out in a very friendly way. We tried the sushi, curry & ramen and they were all very good.
Great place. I live in Japan, so I guess Im quite picky when it comes to Japanese food. A lot of stuff on the menu that you wouldnt actually see in Japan, but still, it all tastes pretty good, though with stronger/saltier flavors that youd find in Japan (like the Volcano roll). They did forget to include one item in our take out order, so I had to drive back to get it, but they were great about it and offered me a free drink. I didnt take it, but I appreciated the gesture. The atmosphere is pretty authentic as far as the service goes, with big cheers of Irrasshai!!! (Welcome!) when you walk in. Everyone is actually Japanese as well, which is kinda rare for Japanese restaurants in small towns overseas.
This is the best sushi I have tried in Canada, hands down. I lived in Japan for two years, and the quality at Kojo is what I could expect there. Especially the karage. It is perfect.
Excellent food. I enjoyed the special, which was the samurai roll and my wife had the bento, everything was perfect and the staff was polite and helpful. I will be back as often as I can.

Its ok. Its good enough sushi when you need something fast, and prices are great for sure. I wouldnt say its the best sushi in town but theres nothing wrong with it. It just isnt spectacular.

Came to Penticton to attend a dental conference, and came to Kojo to have a dinner with my friend. Very nice friendly staffs, and tasty foods. Ko, the owner, mentioned that the shop sells their original soy source. Additionally he told me that their original Sake will be available very soon Cannot wait to come back here next year
The owner Kan is such an awesome human and it all transcends to his staff. From the moment you walk in, youre enthusiastically greeted with, WELCOME! To the last step out the door, ARIGATO! Fresh and delicious food! Online ordering is the way to go to skip the line ups! Now, they make all kinds of sauces and even their own Sake! A wonderful place to visit and a gem in the South Okanagan that MUST be visited!

Visiting from Vancouver, and Im a long time sushi aficionado (40+ years). This was some of the finest sushi Ive had, and at extremely reasonable prices. The wait times and seating were not good, but thats testament to the high quality of the food and its resulting popularity. I seriously overate, everything from top-notch toro nigiri to fabulous tempura (the coating simply would not slide off the food and, my own benchmark of quality tempura, the crispy tail shells of the prawns could be eaten without even noticing a change in texture) to a delicious poke bowl to high-quality house sake (I said that I overate, right?). The end bill for this feast was easily what I would have been charged at a low-end sushi joint in Vancouver and about half of what I would have expected considering the high quality of the meal. Given the huge amount of business this restaurant was doing at the time I was there, I sure hope that they expand their seating, although I know thats difficult in a community that doubles in size in the summer months. This will be an early spot for me to eat in future visits.
Ramen was definitely worth a try and would get again. Sushi I had last visit was good but did not stand out. Service was friendly and I would give it a higher rating except its mainly self serve at the restaurant.

Always an amazing experience at Kojo! Their ramen has great texture and their soup is so rich and flavourful! You can tell the chef has put lots of work into each dish. Sushi is also delicious and fresh :) service is great, food comes out fast, honestly one of my fav places to eat in the Okanagan!! If you re looking for authentic ramen, this is the place to go!
After meeting the Kojo people at the Penticton Farmers Market and tasting their delicious sauces, we decided to try the restaurant for lunch. The yelled greeting at the door is cute at first, but became a tad tiresome as the place got busier and busier while we were there. Too, there is no Order Here sign at the counter, so we mistakenly assumed they offered table service and therefore sat down at a table and waited... and waited some more, and none of the staff bothered to mention that they didnt offer table service. They just let us sit there until we saw that the next folks to arrive placed their order at the counter. Ugh. The place itself is looking a little worse for wear, i.e. banged up walls that could use some Polyfilla and paint. Last but not least, my Beef Yakiniku was pretty bland until I requested some sauce to go with it.

Service is good. California rolls are fresh soft and delicious. I researched all the ramen places in Penticton and decided to try this one. The reviews are saying this is the best ramen in the area. I had high expectations. The broth tastes a bit ginger flavor which I don t like. The noodles are a bit dry or not as moist and soft as I would like. I don t know if they make their own noodles but as the main ingredient I was not too impressed. The pork is just okay. The broth is a bit bland to me so I added some soy sauce. I wouldn t say it is bad ramen, but it is definitely not as good as I thought. The floor is a bit greasy too. I didn t want to but I had to put my backpack on the floor.

I had the Kojo Ramen. This is above average in terms of ramen you can find in BC outside of Vancouver but I had a couple wishes. The egg was slightly over cooked, the noodles were cooked well and slightly a step above instant but didn t taste homemade, the broth was well seasoned but it s a shame they don t offer pork base which is superior to chicken in my opinion. I loved how many vegetables they had for the ramen. I didn t have anything else so can t comment on the sushi or other dishes. The staff were very friendly and professional. The restaurant is well taken care of and decorated nicely. They do offer both vegan and gluten free ramen which is great for people who need those options.

Delicious food! The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating to any dietary needs. The food is fresh and a good price best sushi in penticton. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Would recommend 10/10. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options to choose from. Dietary restrictions: Their able to sub out ingredients if you cannot have them and are very accommodating.

Hands down the best sushi in the Okanagan. The fish quality and rice are perfectly done, and its so affordable. Its a casual atmosphere and can be pretty bustling during peak times. Highly recommended!

We ordered take out for a party, the rolls had great flavor and presentation. The order was ready when expected and she was informed when I asked about the Sake. Ended up taking the sparkling home and it went so well with the rolls. I was only in the restaurant for a few minutes so give it a 4 for atmosphere as I didnt have the full sit down experience.
There was a mix-up with our order and the owner Kan went absolutely above and beyond to rectify. Excellent sushi, fantastic customer service, amazing restaurant! We will be back.

Some of the best sushi Ive ever had in my life (and Ive had a lot, being from Burnaby). Fresh ingredients and amazing house made sauces. Kojo house roll is a must-order. And (shockingly) my favourite roll today was the garden roll which is vegetarian - not usually what I go for, but it blew me away. Thanks Kojo team, I will be back. Parking: Small lot

Celebrated my sons 12th birthday today with the most delicious lunch & the staff surprised him with a beautiful dessert plate while singing Happy Birthday to him. Even though he was a little shy he was very grateful. Thank you Kojo for the wonderful service! Always a joy dining here.

Loved the sushi burritos more than I thought! I thought the rice would be really packed and dense but I was surprised because it was really soft. The sushi burritos were held together with rice paper so there wasnt too much rice and balanced perfectly with the rest of the fillings. The service was fast and friendly! It would be a great meal to enjoy by the lake nearby!

Very good , high quality food. Can sit inside. Busy place takeout and inside! Best in West Kelwona and Penticton ! Just had the Kojo Bento box. Soo good. Chicken karage sunonomo salad, miso soup, mixed tempura, chicken teriyaki, dynamite roll, California roll, cabbage salad. Delicious

The sushi was..... just ok. Staff were friendly and attentive. The killer for me though was providing me with a premade packet of Wassabi instead of made daily from powder. It was grey sludge with almost no flavor. There is FAR superior sushi available in Penticton for better prices. Sorry, but I wont be making a return visit. Despite the friendly staff, the food was wholly underwhelming.

Truly authentic ramen, and extremely fresh fish. The poke bowl was very fresh and tasty. The Ramen is the best in the Okanagan by far, comparable to the top lower mainland joints.
There was a mistake with our order and it wasnt made by the kitchen right away. But they made it right and the food was worth the wait.

Food and speed of service was good. Have dined in & takeout before. This time we found there was no flow to takeout and dine in. Table was not cleaned properly very sticky and to close together customers wandering all over place while your trying to enjoy your meal. To many customers in a small space for me. Suggest management review the cleaning procedures and customer experience.
Disappointing. Several years ago the food was outstanding. Now 80% of it contains Avocados. If one likes Avocados then this is the place to go. But, if you dont....

Ordered online and went in to pick up. Waited over half an hour from pick up time while order sat on the shelf. Soup and everything that is supposed to be hot is ice cold. Being busy is understandable but pay attention to orders that are ready and customers waiting. Regret giving the 20% tip in advance. Received the message from Kan right away and talked to him. He was super friendly and apologized for the problem and resolved the issue immediately. It is great to see a company that listens and appreciate their customers!

I d Highly recommend visiting kojo if you haven t already. Their friendly staff welcome you inside along with tasteful decor. Their menu has a variety of dishes as well as goods to take home and cook yourself. After ordering takeout close to their closing , they offered us a free beverage because we had to wait longer for our food ( which we had no problem with ). The food was excellent and not very expensive. Then to top off the whole experience we left our phone there and didn t notice till an 1.5 hours past their closing and they still had it there to return. All in all 10/10

Exquisite Sushi! Incredible service and these chefs know what they are doing! I ordered the spicy crunch sockeye salmon roll and normally I dont like the taste of salmon. The blend in flavors was incredible and this is my 3rd visit now. Many more to come. Thank you Kojo!
In my opinion, KOJO is the place place for Sushi in Penticton. At the present time they are take out only but have that aspect of their business fine tuned. On a Saturday night I ordered my favorite TOKYO spicy poke bowl and when the online transaction completed I was informed my bowl would be ready in 11 minutes. Amazing, when it takes me 6 minutes to get there, I hardly had time to get ready. The bowl was great as usual, their portions of Tuna and Salmon are plentiful and the spice level perfect. Oh and by the way, just for convenience they have a sister location called KOYA on the other side of town.
