Honestly one of the best meals my partner and I have had, every dish was lovely! We had.. Heavenly beef Thai sausage Singapore noodles Korean sweet and sour Beef rendang curry - amazing curry! Will definitely visit again when in town.
Sunday Buffet menu. Fair choice of dishes mostly filled with chunky vegetables and battered or meats chunks. Vegetarian options small. Food was tasty and well worth a visit, view onto river was pleasant although the floor sloped which was not good for me, effected sense balence.ladies toilets needed cleaning attention.Staff nice friendly helpful.Buffet set price plus drinks and included service charge. Deserts were at an additional cost but didn't try any. It was nice but not something I would rush back for, although I would like to try a meal chosen off the menus and have a window seat when I return.

Amazing restaurant! Every time we eat in or takeaway, it’s been by far the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Always hot, tasty and fresh. Service is great and takeaway quick, we’ve been ordering for 6 months and never once had an issue. Keep up the great work guys!
We have never been before and now we don't know why! We went for dinner on a Monday night, so it was nice and quiet. There is a few parking spaces (free) at an entrance just off the bridge. The staff was lovely and very friendly. We had 2 curries, rice and rotis. The food was all very delicious. We also had the deep friend ice cream and cheese cake for dessert and it can definitely be recommended. The view from the boat with the swans are lovely and quite romantic. We will be back for sure!
Stopped in Peterborough for the weekend when visiting for an away game. My wife & I came to eat at East one evening and it was superb. We’ve had plenty of Chinese meals before but never really had Thai, Korean, Japanese etc, etc food before so was a bit baffled what to order for ourselves. The menu range is a decent size. We took the easy option in the end & went for sharing menu A for a minimum of 2 guests (£28.50 pp). What a choice we made. The starters were superb & the Heavenly Beef was absolutely beautiful, Chicken Satay, Char Sui Pork Ribs & another pleasant surprise were the Sweetcorn Croquettes. The main course was equally as nice as well. You can tell straight away how much passion & experience has gone into making the food here. Maybe the only slight criticism would be the amount of rice we had each. The Thai red curry was quite saucy so a bit more rice to mix in wouldn’t have gone a miss, but having said that we were both stuff at the end regardless after having a choice of dessert each as well. Also had a pint of Staropramen to help wash it all down. If we’re ever in the area we’ll definitely be stopping here again. I honestly think it’s the best East Asian food I’ve ever had. It was honestly a pleasure eating there. It’s a lovely setting for a meal as well & there’s plenty of parking just short walk away.
Used to be my favourite restaurant in Peterborough but things have changed. I came on Friday 4th August with my partner and we were a few mins late for our booking - however we called ahead to tell the restaurant and the man on the phone was friendly and said not to worry that will be fine. When we arrived, the entrance was cramped with Deliveroo and Just Eat drivers - this isn't the experience you want when you come to a restaurant like this. Aside from that, the woman checking guests in was rude. She was cold and doesn't greet guests in a friendly manner. As I said, I know we weren't punctual but we had let the restaurant know. When we sat down to order, the menus given to us were sticky and dirty. We ordered drinks and the waitress taking our order was friendly. Our drinks came and we ordered our starters and mains. When drinks were finished the empty glasses sat on the table for ages. We weren't offered another drink and had to call over staff when we wanted to order again. The food we ordered was: Turmeric Chicken Wings, Steamed Dumplings, Beef Rendang and Beef Gang Phed. The starters tasted ok but those chicken wings looked unappetising and also didn't taste of turmeric at all. For mains, the rendang was good but the gang phed was disappointing. The meat in the gang phed was tough and overall I didn't enjoy the curry. I think for the price of the meals I would expect a lot better. East cannot rely on just being in a great location because of Charters anymore. I was disappointed in the food and service. It's unlikely I'll be visiting again here soon. I'm saddened because as I said, this used to be my favourite restaurant.
When looking up restaurants in Peterborough, immediately came across East and am very happy we ate here today, - Sunday Mother's Day buffet, on a boat with nice views of the River Nene and swans! 🍴 Even though the buffet didn't have perhaps as many options as I had expected, the food was tasty and not just Thai but also some Chinese / Korean / Malaysian / Singaporean influences. The sea bass was really tasty, loved the Thai green curry and Malaysian satay as well Friendly staff and good vibe, could tell that many of the diners were locals and probably repeat customers which is always a good sign!!
Went for my mothers birthday on a wet and windy Sunday and had a wonderful meal

Love this place. The full menu or the buffet are all really good quality, would be nice to see a different dish or 2 on a Sunday buffet but hasnt stopped me going back yet. The Thai wings are next level and the sea bass in ginger sauce was up there. Great service and atmosphere.

We were very much looking forward to visiting but not afterwards. 3 out of 4 of our group went doing with food poisoning and after writing to the restaurant 15 days ago we still await a reply. Stay away from the mixed starters if you decide to go. We won t be back, especially after the complete disregard from their management over food poisoning!

Food was very good, service was okay. We went for the Sunday buffet and we were sat in a seat just behind the buffet table, for our whole meal we had a long line of people along side our table who were waiting to take some food, so it was dark, noisy and really annoying! Why have a table there?!?!

This is your standard Asian fusion restaurant. Portions are well sized. Staff were polite, friendly and very efficient. The restaurant is on a barge but not actually on the water, right alongside the river and has a nice view.

Always exceptional every time we ve been here. Definitely our go to place for date night! Staff are fantastic and charismatic, the food is delicious and the portions are very good! Vegetarian options: My partner is vegan and plenty for them to eat here if you make sure you speak to the waiter.
Went to East for a meal with friends, the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent the atmosphere is fabulous and if you want to extend your evening just go downstairs where there is a bar, and sometimes also a band.
Best Thai in town
It s a shame £12 Tuesday is now £14 Tuesday (originally was £10 Tuesday) and no more red snapper fish was the best thing on the menu.

This restaurant used to be my favourite but lately the quality and prices of their foods have changed. I ordered Crispy pork, Phad Thai noodles and Carrot salad. They were quite bland. A small Carrot salad(it wasnt on the menu ) for 7.99£..what?? exactly same price as Crispy pork which was quiet bad quality of meat..dont make sense at all. Phad noodles was very bland and the noodles was also a bit watery. The Staffs were quite nice as always but the english male staff(his name Duck)was very ignorant and rude. I cant stand the guy. I paid my foods for 35£ but I didnt enjoy at all. Very disappointed. If they still continue to rip people off....this restaurant will be gone very soon I am sure.

Penang curry has recently become one of my favourite dishes (I dont know why its taken me so long to discover it!) And the dish served here was brilliant. The staff were super efficient, really welcoming and the waitor was up for a bit of banter, which is always a plus in my opinion. All topped off by a beautifully crafted local Oakham Ale. Lovely.
The staff was absolutely amazing, the two ladies welcomed us and were so nice! Wished my husband a happy birthday and even sang happy birthday while bringing the cheesecake with a candle.
I had the Sunday buffet at East with my wife and friends. As ever, everything was excellent. They keep topping up the buffet, so everything stays fresh throughout the buffet times. The setting overlooking the River Nene and Town Bridge couldn t be more calming. Access to the huge range of real ales in the Charters pub downstairs is another plus. The staff are all pleasant and accommodating. We stop in to East every time we re in Peterborough.

I have yet to experience a bad meal from East. The food is always too notch, the staff are attentive but not over bearing. You feel genuinely looked after. I had been looking forward to my coconut rice all week and it was worth the wait. If you haven t yet visited this beautiful restaurant I highly recommend it. There are few really nice places to eat in Peterborough but East is one of them. I was also pleased to hear that the tips get shared equally wether you are kitchen staff, the kitchen porter or the manager. Well done for having good values and good food

The food, staff and service at East were superb. It is one of the best restaurants in Peterborough .. however they need private toilets away from the Charters crowd. Our experience wasn t as good as it could have been having to queue for a toilet with hundreds of drunk people from Charters. The toilets were in a right state! Girls were in the boys toilets using cubicles as the queue for the ladies was so long. Not able to wash your hands after in either toilet. We were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary with our elderly relatives who did not enjoy being bumped into, have drinks spilt on them etc just to get into East. This was even before the toilet ordeal. This needs sorting asap! When you re paying good money to eat at this wonderful restaurant you do not want to be in the middle of a music festival, it spoils everything.

Biggest disappointment of the year. This restaurant s food quality does not match its price point at all. The duck was flavorless, small portion too. The egg fried rice had no flavor at all; did they forget to season it? This restaurant was definitely a western adjusted Asian restaurant. Biggest red flag was when we walked in and not a single Asian person was in sight; neither the staff nor any guest. Service was bad as well; we stood at the entrance waiting to get a seat while not a single worker even acknowledged our presence. After ASKING to be seated we were then told to wait for at least 5-10min when the restaurant was half-empty with plenty of open seats. Do NOT go here if you d like an authentic Asian experience.
I went at 5pm on a Tues so it was quiet but filling up quickly. Definitely book for Tues as they have a £12 offer. Food was amazing. It was last time I came too. Satay chicken and Lamb Penang curry - great. I parked at Riverside car park by Aldi and a quick walk. Parking: There s free parking for up to 2 hours at Riverside parking (6 mins walk) across the river.

Amazing! I regularly order from East and have yet to be disappointed. The chicken panang is out of this world. The flavour and vibrance is incredible. I highly recommend the beef or chicken panang for a truly delicious meal.

Needed to visit HM Passport Office and did a quick Google search of restaurants near me. What a really pleasant find! Very reasonable set lunch menu on top of everything else on the menu. Staff were so friendly and attentive! The ambience was delightful and such simple but really nice decor. Really want to have dinner there as I can only imagine how the ambience would be magnified with the lights at night I got carried away ordering several things to make the most of my visit so spent much more than the average person would need. All worth it!

Ive been wanting to have a meal on this boat since I was very young, and last night my wish came true when I and my partner had dinner here for his birthday. We absolutely were not disappointed - the staff were lovely and the food was utterly superb. We had the set menu A, and every mouthful was fabulous.
Nice place, A bit expensive if you accept to pay a full bottle of prosseco, even if you ordered only two glasses. The food is great, and the atmosphere is pleasant. I will recommend the duck with rice and some spicy vegetables

The best restaurant in Peterborough always with delicious food, friendly staff and even if its full house, your food order arrives extremely quickly, just after a few minutes.
Food was ok. We ordered Thai red curry which didn t taste Like a Thai curry, more Chinese (I m Thai), and khao kra pao moo grob which was squishy and soggy but it s supposed to be crispy. The male waiter was impatient and not very friendly.
This is our second visit to East. The food here is amazing - taste and quality perfect! Totally reccommend the chilly prawns dish and the cocnut rice - it was just heaven on a plate! The staff were friendly, and the service was prompt and attentive. Everything you could possibly require for an excellent experience and faboulous meal!
The food and service are always excellent here. We enjoy special meals here. Although it was 8pm on Friday and they were busy, we were served promptly. The food is always freshly cooked. Staff are friendly and polite.

We went here for our work Christmas party, although I have been before. Not alot of vegan options on the Christmas menu so i picked from the ordinary one, still not a huge amount to pick from. Everyone in our group shared sharing platters for starters and then we all had different mains and rice... the coconut rice was delicous, definitely my favourite thing. Good selection of drinks... i had cocktails, but there were also mocktails, spirits, beer, wines, soft drinks etc. It was a busy night for the restaurant but the service was fast, and pretty slick. Closest parking is at the key theatre i would say, although it is really conveniently located. Not too expensive food wise... would say around £30 a person.
Such a wonderful place with delicious food and Douglas was incredibly accomodting as well as the rest of the staff. Will be coming back for sure!

Wonderful food, taste, quality, service, full experience = wow. My wife and I come back from 25 Miles every now and again and this restaurant is wonderful for the last 22 years w heave come here it s a wonderful treat.
We visited tonight as a large group of friends. Unfortunately the restaurant couldnt fit us in but advised us to reserve an area in the bar downstairs. They went out of their way to accommodate us, bringing food downstairs and the food was amazing. Thank you to Dougie and the serving staff for looking after us so well.
Me and my partner went here for the first time a few weeks ago. We had the best experience. Staff were amazing and took the time to have a chat and joke with us. The man who I believe was floor manager or owner was walking around chatting with everyone. The food was next to none it was the best food I ve ever tasted, hats off to the chief. They gave us a window seat and the views were lovely. The food was bought out and displayed in front of us lovely so gave a bit more of a five star experience. Felt very high end. You could hear charters music but we went quite late so we expected this! I think it added to the ambience. Over all a very good experience and we will be going again!

Good food, great atmosphere. Really good location with out side seating area if you want to carry on the party after your meal. Staff really let this place down with their poor service. Maybe its just cause theyre so busy but really stood out to me. 1 example - Hi, we have a table booked for 9 guy points and mumbles take a seat without even looking at us. One other customer clearly wasnt getting it and had to be told 3 times to take a seat and wait. A little embarrassed, felt sorry for him.

Went in for the Sunday buffet for the first time at this restaurant. There was some live band performance outside the restaurant and theres bar downstairs. The food was good but the variety was limited. They had a pork, chicken, beef and fish dish with 2 vegetarian variety, a plain rice, veg noodles, and 4 starters. They charge 10% service charge even for their buffet. Theres a parking near by or you can park in asda and walk. The ambience is good and the decor is modern unlike their competitor.
Really nice food, we had wonderful service from Marcus, but the menus and all surfaces were sticky. £170 for four lunches.
Im even being kind with a 1* review. I would not recommend. If you are black this place is a no go area they are RACIST. Yesterday my friend was served duck at a table with a table knife by the waiter. I repeat a table knife. The waiter then says to my friend try not to stab anyone. We all know the connotations of saying that to a black man, but when I complained to the other waiters, I was made to feel stupid. Disrespectful, disgusting and disappointing.

Fantastic location, amazing food. The waiting staff give an exceptional level of service! The only thing that let down our experience was the shared bathrooms with the pub downstairs. As it was a hot day, the pub beer garden was very busy and the toilets were hot and smelly. There was also some drug use happening in the bathroom which was especially unpleasant due to the fact that we were dining with our children.
Got to be one of the best places to eat in Peterborough and is the best at oriental style food. Its part of the upper deck of a boat with downstairs being a nice pub. This place is awesome when the weather is warm as they have an excellent bear garden that welcomes all.

Wonderful service. Such a unique location on a barge! Ask for the window seating. Green chicken curry was the best Ive ever eaten, outside of Thailand. Had Shanghai Pork and fried tofu and vegetables. So fresh and tasty.

Visited East for the first time yesterday took my partner for his birthday meal and we wasn t disappointed, the environment, service and quality / presentation of the food was by far one of the best we ve ever had at a restaurant in the UK and we can t wait to return. We love this restaurant, we come here as often as we can and today was first day open inside after lockdown 2021. It did not disappoint for my mum in laws 70th birthday, the staff we so amazing and on time and onto every order even after such a long time off. They managed to hide the cake and then come out and sing happy bday at the perfect time, cannot thank them enough for making this special after a tough year. The food as usual so nice and authentic, I m vegetarian and we got a mix of meat for the others and veggie for me. They did a tofu pad Thai (they are amazing at doing a tofu dish for everything) which I absolutely love. Highly recommend coming here for the food and atmosphere.

We ordered a quarter duck and it was dry and chewy. Tasted like itd been on a heat for hours or reheated. My friend has prawns and was sick all night. Shes only had a salad before came out. A total waste of money.
They were friendly and polite. I did have to return a dish as it was cold, but they dealt with it swiftly and the meal was great afterwards.

The décor is amazing, the view of the river enhances your experience and the food is to die for. I had the sharing platter and every single dish was superb, the flavours, the texture, the smell and the presentation. Try the Thai Green Curry with some coconut rice, the mixture of spices melds into a truly unique and jaw dropping experience. The staff are friendly, competent and unobtrusive yet always at hand, amazing! My compliments to all staff especially the chefs, go look at their minute kitchen and you will be impressed. Thank you all for making my night a truly memorable one.

Ordered for delivery 1825/1840 on 28/08/2021. Arrived at 1755. Played hunt the sauce with the chicken satay, ditto with over cooked chicken (but found two iffy tasting prawns) in pad cha noodles. Not cheap and certainly wont be re-ordering.

Food and drink was ok - friendly and attentive staff. Fast service too which is always a plus. I found the food very oily myself. The find of the evening was the mint chocolate ice cream - possibly the best Ive ever had.
This Restaurant on an old Dutch Barge was close to our Hotel and having read good reviews we decided to book. We were not disappointed, the choice of dishes was good and the staff friendly and helpful. I had Beef Rendang with Coconut rice,tasty and not too spicy, my Wife had Pad Ga Praw with Pad Mee Noodles. She said it was very spicy and lovely. All in all an enjoyable evening
Took my good lady here for a belated birthday meal and it did not disappoint. We are both food and drink enthusiasts and we couldnt fault it, everything was fresh, cooked well and totally delicious. The service was also excellent and we were well looked after. Thank you East for a great time and we will be back soon.

Had a brilliant time here. Sitting in the sun, eating Thai, drinking nice beers with live music. Feels a bit like a slice of Berlin in Peterborough. Very pleasant indeed.
The food and service was superb. The server Marcus in particular was friendly and very helpful. I will visit again soon and would definitely recommend it.
Sunday buffet, what more do you need. Amazing price for some amazing food. The Singapore curry with vegetables was sublime, had to go back for more. Definitely recommend coming here, especially on Sunday for the buffet. Easy to get in and out and very friendly and welcoming staff. This was my first time here, will happily be her again soon.
Always delicious, freshly prepared food. The range of meals on the menu is incredible, love discovering something new ever time. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and a lovely location on the river.

East is an amazing place for Oriental styles of cuisine. This place is an absolute gem cannot stress enough. The ambience and portion sizes are great. The food will just make you go wow!!. The homemade coconut icecream is the best Ive ever eaten. The service is perfect they give you time and space but at the same time very attentive. Be (dont know if I got her name spelling right) is a standout. A must visit place while in Peterborough. Good food lovely location and very good service.
Not been in a few years, but I forgot how good this place was. Great service, nice atmosphere and super tasting food. Everything was delicious and good sized portions. Highly recommend
