This place is hands down the best cafe that Ive been to in the area. The Matcha is so good its infectious! The staff always go over and above to make you feel at home. Highly recommended!

Best cafe in Peterborough

I usually am not downtown but found myself wandering around today and I stumbled across this cafe. Beautiful interior, very clean, and very friendly staff. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. I will definitely come back!

I had the best soup here last week! It was served so hot and came with the best bread - that was cut corner to corner with the perfect amount of butter. They were so nice too!

I am a retired Ontario Government employee. For years when I worked at the MNR a girlfriend and myself or just myself would drop by at lunchhour. I especially liked their coffee and homemade bars.I loved the food, the service and the atmosphere. Today - Wednesday July 12th, 2023 at approximately 2:30 my husband, who is also now retired, and myself walked from our home downtown. The doctor has been saying get more exercise. Anyways- we were both dressed quite casually. I mentioned to my husband we should drop into the Turnbull Cafe and have a bite to eat - so we did. A young girl came to wait on me and I asked her if I could have the washroom key as both my husband and myself wished to freshen up before we ordered our food. The young girl wanted to know what medical business I was visiting in the building and I told her I was a customer of the Turnbull Cafe. The young girl then went and got the owner who again asked me what medical business I was visiting in the building. I told the owner three times I was a customer of the Turnbull Cafe, but she told me she could not give me the washroom key. Frustrated, my husband and I left and went across the road to the Mall where there is a washroom and we had a bite to eat. As I stated to the owner, I will not be coming back to the Turnbull Cafe as I feel my treatment was both rude and unwarranted.

I like to visit occasionally to grab a drink, I love their hot chocolate s, and apple cider. Very polite and caring staff, love the atmosphere! Food

Tried this place based on its high review ratings. Sadly my experience was very disappointing. Ordered a coffee and banana loaf. Not only was it over priced but the quality/taste was off-putting (watery coffee with no flavour). Cant recommend this place.

So Ill start with we went out of the way on our journey home to come here. 20$ for a latte, a coffee and two bagels. Not so bad considering things now a days. Coffee was terrible though. It was honestly just hot water with milk. I didnt drink it.

During the school year I come in study as it s a nice way to get out and get things done. The staff is always friendly and offer many suggestions on what to order when you can t quite decide. Their brown sugar iced lattes are my personal favourite when I need a pick me up but I also enjoy their Italian sodas when I m looking for something without caffeine. Dietary restrictions: They have many gluten free options.

My go-to-spot for a great lunch. Refreshing, delicious and friendly staff.

I love The Turnbull Cafe! It s hard to pick a favorite, but my weekly go to s are: peanut butter cookies - soooo good, egg salad sandwich and soup - perfect combo and the 50 shades of green smoothie is the best matcha smoothie I ve had!! Turnbull Cafe. does not disappoint!

Just recently I went in to purchase a bag of coffee to take home as a friend recommended this place to me. I chose the dark roast as thats my usual go to, and I must say it was one of the best Ive had. The staff were very pleasant and informative of their products, and the atmosphere was very clean. I would highly recommend checking this place out if youre looking for really good coffee.

I love this cafe! I go here everyday! My go to is iced coffee and/or strawberry smoothie and Egg-cellent bagel. I love the people at the cafe too. They re so polite and friendly. This cafe has a very cozy vibe!! The place and food is great!

I just had my first experience at the Turnbull Cafe and I must say, it was amazing! I met the owner Heather, she is an absolute sweetheart! I went in for a bagel and ended up chatting a bit about coffee and then bought two bags of beans French Vanilla and espresso she offered me a free cup of the City coffee, it was amazing! Anyone looking for great coffee, snacks and super friendly staff. The Turnbull Cafe is a must!! If I could give 6 stars I would!

Yesterday I had a doctors appointment at the Turnbull building and my boyfriend went into the Turnbull cafe. There he met Heather who he is still talking about (how nice she was and what great conversation they had!). The main point of this story is that everyone should go to the Turnbull cafe. We bought two bags of coffee beans (French vanilla and espresso). Normally, we just have two small cups of coffee every morning. After drinking this pure gold, the one of us that is not pregnant is doubling up lol It is amazing. We will be buying our beans here from now on. Thanks Heather for the awesome experience and amazing coffee. Five stars all day.

One of Peterboroughs Best Kept Secrets. Visited this place with my daughters today. Loved it. The food was on another level, the coffee perfect. The atmosphere pleasant, and the staff were friendly. Great prices. Good experience. I highly recommend you drop in. I only knew about it because of my daughters but I will be back. Theyve been in business 10 years I came to find out. Lets hope they continue for another 10. Enjoy.

I went here this afternoon for a bit of a pick me up after having a rough morning. Not only was the cafe itself very clean with a warm atmosphere, but the service was lovely. The woman at the counter was very kind and super helpful to me. The drink I ordered (the apple pie) is also incredible and tastes exactly as she described it too me. I will definitely be returning frequently from now on. :D

Owner (Heather) is very nice, always puts whipped cream and whole milk in the smoothies for my daughter. Sandwiches are also really good. Kid-friendliness: Always lovely to my daughter.

Turnbull is my favourite cafe in Peterborough hands down. I love the atmosphere its super cozy and welcoming! The owner is a lovely woman and the food/drinks are so good. Best tuna sandwich ive ever had and great Frapps that dont break the bank When I leave Peterborough next year this cafe will be what I miss the most

Their curried artichoke veggie wrap is by far the most delicious wrap I have ever tasted. They also have wonderful customer service and a cozy atmosphere...but the food and drinks are exceptional, great prices for how high quality everything is.

Great team but limited hours

I frequent this cafe quite a bit for its lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff. Everyone is very pleasant and willing to explain anything on their extensive menus. I love visiting this cafe to enjoy their daily lunch specials (especially the soups!) or to just enjoy a fresh coffee and read a book.

Oh my, where do I begin? As I read the words of the person who disliked just about everything regarding the Turnbull Café, I really could not believe what I was reading to be honest with you. I asked myself if this person had actually visited the same Café I have been going to for the past two years every single time I come into Peterborough!! Apparently they did! Overpriced?? Uhh nooo, the home-made food and baked goods prepared for sale at the Turnbull Café are excellent and of top quality and you certainly receive your moneys worth I have never ever thought that the food or drinks were overpriced because I knew everything was being prepared by very pleasing, well-trained and knowledgeable staff using the best ingredients. Overheated?? Over the past two years, I have sat at just about every table in the Turnbull Café and I certainly have never felt overheated or uncomfortable. Each and every time that I have visited the Turnbull Cafe, I have used the Internet on both my iPad and my iPhone and there has never been a moment that I did not receive Wi-Fi immediately. I have never had any problems with the Internet connection!! I have eaten various sandwiches, desserts, coffee and various juices and thoroughly enjoyed everything. I am totally addicted to the Brie and Apple Panini and it is very difficult for me to choose something else when I go to visit the Turnbull Café!! Everything they serve is first class, fresh, and totally delicious. As has been pointed out elsewhere in reviews, the Turnbull Café is a short walk from the Peterborough Bus service and the Go Bus Terminal. I noticed a comment about the kitchen being messy. It is definitely a small kitchen, but well utilized and very very clean. I worked for some time with a major hotel chain in quality control and believe me, I know a good thing when I see it!! Without doubt, this is very definitely the Turnbull Café

This cafe is amazing! Its in a great location a block away from the bus terminal. This food is all bake and made fresh I ordered a smoothie and a peanut addictive bar and it was delicious. I am definitely going to continue to go back and I suggest you go there too!!!

I tried thier mint Chocolate hot Chocolate and it tasted like mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream I will probably go back when I am Downtown!

My son and I love this cafe. Their home made bake goods are delicious, and they know how to make a mean chai latte. They get four stars because there specials menu is confusing and some of there items are pricey

I wandered in by chance on my way out of town; kitchy, homey decor, friendly staff, amazing food and drink! I was blindsided by how much I enjoyed my experience here, and even made me feel a little guilty about walking by as many times as I had without giving it a try!

Staff were very kind and courteous, Best frappes in town! Slightly more expensive than those at Natas, but also a bit bigger, so I think it evens out. Also I think they have more flavours and options to choose from than other places for their cold drinks. Would recommend!
