Rivergate, Peterborough PE1 1EN, United Kingdom
Streamlined rooms, some with sofabeds, in an informal hotel featuring a restaurant & parking.
A bit of a tale of two halves. Check in was fine, room lovely. Dinner was bizarre, staff member having her own dinner but then serving guests whilst she did? There was a waiter around, just a bit odd. Male waiter shouted and laughed at several times by kitchen team, once because customer wanted white bread not brown. White bread, it seems, is only available at breakfast. A number of basic items not available but no one tells you until you begin to order. Breakfast was lovely.
Amazing room. Lovely and clean and comfortable. The breakfast was super. They had everything. Cooked breakfast. Vegan options cooked on request which I had. Lovely restaurant and ambience. The staff were so friendly and lovely. Especially Lorraine in the restaurant! 5***** service from her. Hope Premier Inn know what a wonderful employee they have in her. Definitely be back next December again if not sooner.
Right in the heart of Peterborough. The rooms are spacious, clean, everything you need. Reception was friendly & helpful. We had breakfast, plenty of choice... full English and continental on offer. There is a small car park on site that charges but opposite is a larger carpark..also charges..would definitely stay here again.
A beautiful clean hotel with extremely comfortable beds and a great breakfast. The parking is a bit expensive though. £14 per night with discount. We always use this hotel when we visit Peterborough because we find the prices very reasonable.
The perfect base in Peterborough at a reasonable price. Premier Inn delivered on their promise of a comfy bed and a good shower. The hotel was in a good state of repair and clean. Great location too. I would highlight that the staff I interacted with were excellent. The lady who checked me in, the gentleman who served me at the bar on the first night, the other gentleman who seemed to do everything (reception, breakfast, etc). The shower in my room had a small problem that the temperature knob was stuck. I reported it and it was fixed that day.
Hotel was lovely, rooms clean and comfortable. Great location. Good breakfast. Only issue was no baby change facilities in the hotel lobby and our room wasn't available for an early check in at the time we arrived. Had to change my baby in reception on sofa. Not hotel staffs fault but maybe a changing station could be put in the accessible toilets.
Always stay here when I'm in Peterborough, and it's always great. The staff are friendly, facilities are comprehensive, and the rooms and restaurant are clean and well cared for. Particularly would like to thank Lina and Peter, who are amazing. Highly recommended all round!
The hotel is kept to a high standard. Car parking out the front is payment parking, even for Blue badge travellers! land owed by different controlling company to Premier Inn. 24 hours 16:00. However as instructed by the reception manager, each time you leave this car park, another charge on return??. Surrounding car parks are council controlled. The Lido car park a little walk away was our best option. Why?, because total cost 7:50 and that was using a Blue Badge. This car park gave an extra free one hour with car park ticket for Blue badge users. Back to hotel. Rooms were clean and tidy, basic provision, kettle etc. No issues with the room. Food was of a good quality. Make sure you book breakfast, as the queue and busy (9 am). Food cooked, breakfast was well cooked, and tasty, eggs poached or fried. All was hot and fresh tasting. We were hosted by: Lorraine, Kate and the chef, John. Made welcome and could not do enough for us, our gratitude for the kindness shown. Overall a great place to stay and explore the Roman town and architecture of Peterborough, under estimated place of interest. Car parking though while available is expensive and all have different tariffs, read the signage or ask! The hotel allows 20 minutes for drop off of luggage.
Modern hotel in the city centre. Very comfortable... however, the continual road noise is a bit much. The parking charges are also a bit steep.
Had a pleasant check in at the hotel today. Met Lina who was very helpful and helped me out with some information on the local area. She was very friendly and welcoming
Great Premier Inn, location and rooms excellent! Next time Im in Peterborough I will book here again.
Great location
We came for breakfast. The service was lovely. A warm welcome from Kate and Lorraine. Attentive service and lovely breakfast with eggs cooked to order. Would recommend!
Really friendly staff. Location is perfect for city center. Will definitely be back next year. Rooms
Fantastic hotel, breakfast was fantastic. Lorraine and Warren and chef John were very friendly thanks
The staff are really friendly, the breakfast was amazing , just want to thank Lorraine,Warren, and Chef John, they made my stay more enjoyable. Rooms: Very clean, and relaxing
Whats not to like this chain of hotels are always in a very good location off the motorway. Helpful happy staff makes your stay so good. Theres nothing too much trouble and will stay again
A great overnight stay and lovely breakfast.
Thanks to Lina at reception for the very helpful service.
Great value city centre hotel. Modern a d clean
Super comfortable bed as usual, great location for city and very helpful staff, particularly Lina and Warren
Everything about is as you would expect, except the parking, very expensive approx £16 for 24Hr . Walkability: Very close to the town centre and cathedral etc.
Kirsty and warien Were a great help, so kind and informative keep it up guys Noteworthy details: Great staff Rooms : 5/5 |
Friendly helpful staff, super breakfast at an early time enabling you to make the most of the day, and a very convenient location in the city centre. Free WiFi was not always good, and the car park was not ideal as it was public and on one occasion we came back from a day out, couldnt find a space, and had to go to another car park nearby which added to the expense and inconvenience. The £16 a day cost is a bit steep, but Premier Inn provide a discount code which gives you a £2 reduction. However, as we were told, this is a price to pay for the convenience of being in the centre. I hasten to add that the WiFi and car park are minor points. Walkability: The shops and city centre, including Peterborough Cathedral are just a few minutes walk away.
Spot on for a one night stop. Central, quiet and very nice staff.
Room was great, clean, comfy bed, drinks tray. Staff friendly and efficient. Fabulous view of the cathedral from our room window. Central location near shops, train and bus station.
Great bed slept like a log.
Wonderful staff, Celia, Kirsty and Dom, who go over and above to provide excellent customer service. Many thanks indeed!
good Nearby activities: yes Rooms : 5/5 |
Opposite Peterborough Beer Festival. So pissed I slept very well. Rooms
They wont even answer the phone. Ive phoned 10 times which last 3 minutes each call before they end it. Imagine having only one job which is to pick up the phone and you cant even do that
Its on an island and i missed the entrance the first time round, looks fairly new, room good as usual, reasonable meal in the evening but possibly the worst breakfast in a premier inn
Absolutely love this place, The staff are amazing, Thank you so much Kirsty Kate Loraine, You have made us feel so welcome, Thank you for your service, The breakfast is amazing thank you John, We come here every week because of the wonderful experience and the wonderful Staff, I highly recommend this hotel, Especially for people who need to go to the passport office, As its virtually next door,!!! Rooms: Rooms are extremely clean and the Service is amazing. Highly recommended. Safety: Extremely safe, Especially for people with disabilities, Walkability: Literally in the town centre walking distance to everything, Especially the passport office which is virtually next door,

Poor Customer Service Experience at premier inn peterborough city centre Today i had a disappointing experience at a Premier inn that I feel compelled to share. While sitting in the reception area, I found myself confronted by a male guest who began shouting in my face and getting uncomfortably close. It was an incredibly distressing situation, and what made it worse was the lack of response from the bar staff, who simply stood behind the bar and did nothing to intervene. This kind of treatment is simply unacceptable. As a customer, I expected a safe and welcoming environment, but instead, I was met with aggression and poor management. The staffs inaction in handling the situation reflects a significant lapse in customer service, which is truly appalling. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to improve their response to similar situations in the future.
Clean spacious rooms in a very central location. Lorraine in the restaurant provided excellent service Walkability: Very central a 10 minute walk from the Cathedral and shops
Typical Premier Inn, but has some basics like electrical sockets near the bed, which some others miss. Also has super helpful staff. My one issue would be that it could do with better soundproofing, both between rooms and between the inside and the busy main road outside.
Amazing location, friendly staff and very nice room. Thank you Lina for a nice room. Rooms : 5/5
Kirsty wants very kind! She gave us our warm up pancakes and was very helpful!
Great place for a couple of nights in Peterborough. New hotel, very clean with everything needed for a brief stay and an excellent central location. Friendly staff particularly the breakfast team of Kirsty, Paul and John! Would stay again.
Usual premier inn. Very clean and tidy. Decent car park at the back. Around £10 for the night. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Decent bathroom and shower. Very close to the town centre. Easy walking distance. Staff seemed friendly enough. Would recommend and would use again Walkability: This hotel is right in the city centre. Loads of places very nearby.
good rooms but very expensive parking
Spotlessly clean and tidy, staff were very helpful. Good value as well
Be good if parking was free! Rooms: WYSIWIG Nearby activities: Peterborough Beer Festival Walkability: 5 mins
Very nice Premier Inn, still nice and new. All the rooms have air-conditioning. Nice and close to the city centre. Walking distance to the town centre, passport office etc. Bad points the parking is £16 a night. This is outrageous, if you stay in the hotel parking should be discounted as it is in other Premier Inns. Just another cash cow Im afraid. Lastly, one of the guys on reception has his whole throat tattooed. Im not a prude, I have tattoos myself. But this doesnt project a welcome feeling to older people or families. Again this is my own opinion.
The friendliest stuff ever. Thank you for helping me with all my needs.
Local to all shops and bars...very clean rooms, staff are always happy to help.
Lina was absolutely brilliant, really helpful with any queries and really looked after us.
Great stay and great staff. Lina was very helpful throughout the stay
Good
- Hotel rooms are clean and spacious. - Hotel staff are welcoming and accommodating. - new chef in the kitchen is very good and always caters to what extras you ask for! Poached eggs are great! - parking is a nice addition but spaces are limited.
Best Premier Inn in Peterborough
My name is Susan and I love this Premier Inn hotel. Great location with easy access to everywhere. Very professional and friendly staff, males and females. If you want to find a hotel with heart, convenience and comforts. This is the ONE. Strongly recommend to everyone Food and drinks: 30 day cured steak cooked to perfect medium rare. Yummmm
The location is excellent. Another Premier Inn that offers Premier Plus rooms. The paved town centre is directly over the road, which has a distinct European feel to the tree lined walkways. The cathedral was gorgeous and steeped in history. Great find instead of the usual hotel on a service station roundabout. The young man Dom is on reception and was a superstar on getting us all booked in. The carpark can be expensive, but we took an option to pay at source on the booking app we used, so all included. Rooms: Premier Plus is available here.
Great service and lovely staff !! Food and drinks: Great breakfast !! Rooms : 5/5 |
Friendly service and a scrumptious breakfast! Thank you too Luke, Kate, John and Toby! A good variety of hot and cold foods and drinks! Very clean and comfortable seating areas and breakfast bar! We will definitely be returning and we will bring our friends! Rooms : 5/5
Made a booking online took the payment then went to hotel and the booking didn t go through but still took payment then had to pay again for another room and they said they would refund my first payment but they haven t and I ve tried ringing the hotel to resolve the issue but they never answer the phone definitely avoid this hotel so ended up paying £230 for 1 room
The positives first - the room was clean, and roomy and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately there were rather a lot of negatives, in particular relating to the service. I stayed for 4 nights last week (premier plus + full breakfast), and asked whether staff could find me a private room for a 45 min call shortly after the official check out time on the day I was leaving. I asked this at the start of my stay, and was told it wasnt possible, as it didnt come within what I had booked. There was absolutely no flexibility or desire to please a customer who was staying for quite a few days, and had spent a significant amount of money. The hotel appeared fairly empty, and I suspect it would have been possible to find me somewhere. Premier Inn plus advertises itself as including ultimate WiFi. However I wasnt allowed the sign in code for ultimate WiFi and was told I could just use the free WiFi. The free WiFi doesnt work well - and I could see the ultimate WiFi was better, as it showed as four bars not three. Nonetheless I was limited to the basic WiFi, despite it being slow and needing to get work done. I ended up just doing hotspotting using my mobile phone data. I wanted a document printed late at night one day. Despite there being multiple staff present at reception, and having been told earlier that printing was something they offered (I just had to email a particular email address), I was told by staff that they didnt know they were allowed to print anything, and, in any event, why was I asking so late at night. I was at the hotel as a busy professional, and didnt expect to be told, in effect, that I could only make such a request within working hours. I stayed 1 day this week. When I arrived, after queuing for a while, I was finally given a key card for my room. I went to the room and the card didnt work, so had to return to reception. I again had to wait, and this time the key card was correctly programmed. At breakfast the next morning, I was told that my room number was occupied by a man (first name Scott) and I was mistaken about the number. I explained that must be wrong as I had slept in there the previous night. When I returned to the hotel this afternoon from a professional engagement, the key card didnt work, so I had to return to reception. After waiting a while, I spoke to reception staff. I was told that my room was occupied by a man called Scott and (again) that I was mistaken about the number. I explained that I was most definitely not mistaken about the number, as I had slept in the room the previous night. I was told that I was wrong as the room, along with a number of other rooms, was booked by a particular company, which I wasnt connected with. They wouldnt let me return to my room until I told them what items could be found in the room, in order to prove I was indeed staying there. I was treated as though I was lying, and potentially trying to gain access to someone elses room, but all I wanted to do was return to my room after a busy work day. After a member of staff had been to my private room while I had to stay at reception, and reported back a ladys possessions are in the room, staff were still in no hurry to let me return to my room. Finally they gave me a new key card. But I was given no apology - either for the mix up, or for treating me as though I was a potential criminal, when it was clearly they who had made a stupid mistake. Almost whenever I went to reception I had to wait a while to speak to staff - although multiple staff members were hanging around, seemingly not doing much. In conclusion - very poor service.
Great hotel, Kirsty s who was our hostess for breakfast was incredibly helpful and friendly.
Great hotel in lovely central location. Great breakfast in morning. Lovely clean room. Only minor complaint would be that the shower needed more pressure. Rooms : 4/5
They seem quite light on staff which is fantastic if you want to smuggle your box of emotional support cats into your room, but not so good if youre waiting at the please wait here to be seated sign. Im a big fan of the unlimited beans but you have to be psychic to know you can ask the breakfast chef guy for vegetarian sausages and misc secret breakfast items.
Clean and functional. Rooms were at the expected standard for a Premier Inn (we stay at several different sites).. location was good, everything we needed was in walking distance. Car parking is confusing and a chore to deal with.( not managed by Premier inn) which spoils the overall experience.
In general, I enjoyed my stay here but unfortunately the kitchen was not fully stocked. They had no steak for both nights that we stayed, which wasnt fair because the already limited menu was further made more limited. Although the staff, gave an explanation, I just feel this isnt supposed to happen for two consecutive days. Rooms were beautifully decorated and the warm welcome and service was exceptional. Rooms: Rooms are spacious, well designed and neatly kept. The room I had didnt have a great view but it was alright Nearby activities: River Nene nearby harbours swans, geese and ducks. You might want to get bread to feed them . It was lovely. Safety: Safety is assured. Walkability: Easy access to the train station, access to the bus and its basically at the city centre making walkability much easier Food and drinks: Foods and drinks available upon request. Unfortunately I didnt get the food I wanted on their menu since it was out of stock
This premier inn which is in Peterborough is absolutely fab!!! The staff are truly amazing and very welcoming to all visitors!! I could recommend this place enough but with a massive thankyou to Kate and Lorraine who were so friendly and went above and beyond to help Nearby activities: Greet twin and cathedral and premiere inn staff were amazing
Food and drinks: We didn t stay here but had dinner as it was near to our flat. The waitresses, Lina & Donne were lovely and funny and the chef, Karl, cooked a perfect char grilled steak. We were very happy with the service! Service : 5/5
Hotel itself is pretty good typical premier inn. But parking is shocking, ANPR doesnt work, terminal doesnt accept any card payment and youre left having to download apps to pay when youre in a hurry to leave. Premier inn staff obviously absolve themselves of all responsibility for it and you get no immediate support from the parking provider. Shocking experience and premier inn cant have a good star rating when this is part of their hotel offering.
Quiet great nights sleep , brekkie was top notch Staff helpful and easy going Rooms
Nice room, although didnt spend much time in it. Breakfasts good, although needed to stand at the wait here to be seated sign for around 3 full mins on first morning (no waiting staff in sight), which was mildly annoying. Location very handy for Key Theatre.
Amazing wow I will be bk clean frendy staff great sleep didnt wanna go home one off the best iv stayed in x
Rooms are fine as its a new hotel. Parking is limited. Avoid the restaurant, Ive stayed here twice and the service is poor. Lots of items missing from the menu but they dont tell you that when checking in or booking a table. Would have gone into town had I not booked a meal deal. There is a lack of kitchen and waiting staff which means a lot of waiting.
Nice place for a short stay. Comfortable rooms. Helpful staff, especially Lorraine, who deserves a pay rise for her helpfulness! The hotel is situated on a traffic island, which sounds bad but actually works well as just a stones throw from the town centre and the rooms are soundproof but well air conditioned. Parking is available on site but the payment procedures are rather over complicated. Rooms: Basic but adequately sized. Large bath, which is unusual nowadays. Clean. Walkability: Two minutes walk from town centre. 30seconds from waterfront. Food and drinks: The usual Premier Inn breakfast available.
Wow staff were amazing lina and her crew were fantastic. The restaurant was simply amazing with a clean room to live in for a while felt like home thanks premier inn
Because of quite difficult family issues and the need to be to be able to visit someone in Peterborough City Hospital and, later, a hospice, I ended up staying in the Peterborough Central Premier Inn for quite long periods of time. The staff were brilliant. They were kind and they were helpful. I didn t manage to get everyone s names but those that I did - Lina, Dom, Donna, Lorraine, Peter - all made a difficult few weeks just that little bit easier. The hotel itself was excellent. The views over the River Nene or over the Cathedral were pretty good for a budget hotel. It was central and the food was good. I recommend the place. Walkability: The city centre and river walks are on your doorstep
Perfect for a stop over. Clean room, friendly staff.
A much needed place to rest my head where the staff were anything but automatons. Friendly and helpful staff Lina and Dom were able to look after my needs despite very difficult circumstances and a nightmare journey. Clean spacious room with all facilities and felt like very good value for money especially at such short notice. Am enjoying the calm and quiet restaurant and the family like atmosphere of the place. Food and drinks: Nice range of options
Great stay at this hotel. The staff are extremely helpful. Lina was very welcoming on our arrival after a long journey. Would definitely recommend.
Lina was welcoming and very helpful when helping me figure out how to work out how to park? It was so confusing but I m guessing that s how the car park company make money. Anyway, with the exception of Satans car park. The rooms were clean and comfy. 5 stars for Lina and her sense of humour. 5 stars for the rhubarb and raspberry gin too!
I dont think Ive ever wanted to leave a review for a Premier Inn, until now... Ive been here around two weeks for work and (apart from terrible wifi) everything has been great! Lina from my very first night has been so lovely, helpful and great to talk to! She has been the highlight of my stay! The food at dinner was surprisingly great and the service from Lina and Donna was just the right balance of friendliness but leave you to yourself. There was another lovely young man working some nights but I missed his name, he was very helpful with an issue I had with my booking. Would definitely recommend to anyone coming up here!!
A great hotel situated in the city centre ideal for local restaurants. The staff were all very helpful especially Lina who has a great sense of humour and made me feel very welcome. Breakfast staff included Kate who was also very good at making me feel comfortable the food was surprisingly good actually and my stay was altogether enjoyable. Would recommend.
Its nice and quiet the shopping centre is literally two minutes away everything you need.
Walked in only for a pint and was greeted by Peter(Kenyan flag badge) what a guy!! Like walking through your front door at home grabbing a beer from the fridge and chilling.... Thanks Peter and all the best!!! An amazing host
A really good Premiere Inn and the city is great. Only thing is the parking is a little small.
Despite being in the middle of a roundabout, this was a surprisingly superb stay. Really well placed for all the local amenities. Immaculately clean, all the staff were helpful, especially Lorraine! No noise was discernible from the traffic. The breakfast was great and the room was perfect. The room overlooked The Grain Barge (worth a visit too)
Very nice stay, staff very attentive and lovely food
Okay. Rooms: Clean. The price is adequate to the standard.
Modern hotel situated in the middle of a roundabout. You cannot open the windows which means you cant hear the road noise which is good. However the aircon is useless. It cools the room a bit in summer, but in winter what little heat that does come out stays at ceiling height, also you dont feel like theres any fresh air coming into the room at all so gets really stuffy. Rooms are good although they have the extra slow to respond no brand TVs which really is annoying although the picture quality is quite good. WiFi is not bad also. Food is reasonable comes out hot only the usual fried selection though and breakfast was good with a help yourself setup.
Newish Premier Inn but still had to climb into the bath for a shower. A lot of noise from the road outside. A lack of staff did not help and they were discouraging dining in the restaurant. Also you do have to pay for parking. On the plus side it is well located for the centre of town and not far from the train station.
Walkability: Very close to Cathedral and shops. Rooms
Parking awful . Once you ve parked for overnight stay . you have to pay £12 to leave car park if you want to pop to a shop. When you re enter car park you have to pay another £12 to leave in the morning. Scandalous.
Convenient location although a bit rough at night
Looks all brand new. We stayed for 1 night and would definitely recommend as a stop over. Was clean tidy and the staff were lovely.
Room was very hot, made sleeping more difficult.
Worst Premier I have stayed in. All but one or two of the staff are rude, seem like they cant be bothered, dont want to be there. Bar area is open when the staff can be bothered and closes when they have had enough. If you have booked for food, expect a long wait. I hadnt booked a table but wanted a menu to look at for kids to have something to eat, was told they werent taking orders until 6.30!!! Went back at 6.15 was told by another member of staff, that 6.30 was if we booked a table, we would have to book a table and wouldnt be able to order until 7pm!!! We were in the restaurant bar area with only 4/5 people dining!!!! Breakfast was appalling, they had no sausages, no plates ready, no bacon cooked, no eggs cooked, no bread out, no pancakes out, if you wanted things that werent out you had to find a member of staff to ask to then wait an age for them to either tell you it wasnt ready or they havent got it!! Not expecting 5* fine dining yes sir no sir service, but not even on a par to any other premiers I have stayed in service wise, staff wise.
The hotel was a 15 minute walk from the train station. On arrival I was greeted by a friendly member of staff and swiftly checked in. My room was easy to get to and for the standard room it was amazing, huge and so clean. After a long journey I got straight into bed and felt like I was laying on a cloud, the bed was so comfortable, I had a power nap and I was ready to head out for the night, the town centre is about a 5 minute walk away, for location it is perfect as everything is walking distance. After my night out at the cathedral for a silent disco I made my way back to my hotel at midnight and got into bed and closed the blackout blinds.. Next thing I knew it was 0830 in the morning! As the hotel is right next to town and a busy road you wouldnt of thought so as you cannot hear anything due to the soundproof windows, no wonder I slept for so long. Went down for breakfast at 0915 and it wasnt too busy.. I was taken to my table by Lorraine and she was so lovely, welcoming with a big smile and very friendly. The food was lovely and cooked to perfection, normally food has been sitting there but you could tell it was all fresh, so a bit thanks to the chef Alex . Also a shout out to Kate for sorting out my pain au chocolat, back of house for keeping the rooms lovely and Ceila because you can tell your team are great and the energy from yourself and your team was nice to see. Also, you have a great song named after you. A great experience and although I live far away I wouldnt hesitate on coming back. Thank you for making memorable.
Stayed here for a couple of nights. Parking restrictions werent exactly clear because they have a small car park and can pay on departure. There is a council car park across the road but again, youre not guaranteed to have a parking slot. You do have options on how you want to pay. Check in straightforward and staff were really helpful when I needed any help. There is a restaurant on site but didnt try but next time might have a try at the menu as seemed like a good selection. The bed was really comfy and barely head the car noises
Can not thank the front of house team and housekeeping staff enough! Stayed in this city centre hotel for our anniversary. Our friend spoke to them and we had a room upgrade, complimentary bottles of Prosecco and housekeeping decorated the room for us, so when we walked in it was totally unexpected! The food was lovely and breakfast was great and plenty of choice! Nice and clean and hardly any noise from the busy road beside hotel.
Amazing
My mum is staying here this weekend 13th Jan 2023 for her birthday. I arranged to have some balloons added to her room before she checked it. When we arrived into the room we found that the lovely housekeeping staff had added a few extras to the room since I left the balloons. Thanks Celia from housekeeping for doing that, its made her stay even more special. X
Very friendly staff. Accommodation very clean and neat.
So pleasant booking in
We always enjoy a Premier Inn, but the friendly and helpful staff made this one extra special.
Its a premier so excellent rooms as always, location is fine, on edge of town centre The food is good.
Cant really fault the hotel - Everything as youd expect from Premier Inn. Breakfast was plentiful and excellant standard. Breakfast staff really welcoming and helpful - first rate. Room was usual Premier Inn and had no surprise. Only issue was air con wasnt working properly even when reception checked it
Excellent stay at this prem inn, fabulous customer service in every area , Lorraine was very accomadating at breakfast & Toby your food was excellent. Had room 118 ,lovely light & very clean . Amazing location for both city centre & the football
my company paid what seemed an exhorbitant price for my 3 night stay this week (Feb 23) , the mattresses were well worn too though the bed was comfortable. but i was annoyed that no one cleaned my room on at least one of the mornings i was there. i had to ask for replacement towels . this shouldnt have happened . breakfast was fairly basic though plentiful . but the fried food seemed to have been cooked in the cheapest nastiest oil! i hope it wasnt lard! lastly there seem to be some service areas for vehicles and im sure some engine fumes were coming in to the room at times. they need some no idling engines signs . it was very quiet though to say it was on a busy roundabout - and the car park couldve benefited from a better sign . i missed it twice and had to drive round in the dark trying to be sure to be in the correct lane
Worst premier inn I ve ever stopped at, I stay with the brand regularly.
Central location. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent service. I recommend skipping breakfast.
Awesome place to stay, close to town, clean and quite rooms, very good restaurant and service staff. If I come back definitely here Rooms: Nice, clean and quite rooms Nearby activities: Very close to town center Food and drinks: Delicious food
Room and service is very good but You are mention that .Parking are free But you never mention is just for 20 minutes real thing is everyone have to pay parking every time when you exit the parking
A great location for city centre and football ground and room great and bed very comfortable had a great nights sleep and breakfast was great and all the staff were friendly and helpful
Quiet, clean, good breakfast and excellent showers. Walkability: One bus stop away from the train and bus stations, but an easy 5 minute walk. Rooms : 4/5 |
Excellent location and Normal premier Inn standard. Good value
The hotel is in a good location near the city centre and close to the river if you want a stroll. The rooms are clean and tidy and everything is as you can expect from a Premier Inn - clean, safe, comfortable. Rooms
Excellent sleep as always in the premier inn
Al round very good
Duty manager was ignorant and aggressive, no civility or customer service at all, we got woken up on the first night by another room playing loud music and staff didnt know about it as they dont check or care. No offer of breakfast or lunch when we arrived and we had to drag it out of this degenerate duty manager our room number and where we would find it. We stay in premier inns ALL over the Uk and this muppet was the worst we have ever encountered....typically the staff are polite and helpful..I dont know where they got this character from but they should send him back and get a refund!
Everything was spot on in our rooms and an unexpected problem was dealt with by Celia and another member of staff who went the extra mile to accommodate us. Many thanks!
Good experience and excellent customer service Food and drinks: Good food Location : 5/5 Hotel highlights
Good hotel professional staff normal price
Shocking experience. Rude management, mix up with bill for food in the restaurant (there fault not ours), items put on other tables bill refused to refund them, told them to get cash of me, had to walk to a cash point after 10pm at night to get cash to pay them as had no cash. Raid by the police in one room in the hotel for drugs. WIFI not working. We use Premier Inn for business stays all the way thru the year, over 20 rooms this year so far. Disgusting customer service for a regular customer.
Great place, 3rd year coming back
The front office worker (I assume the leader, who was a short blonde haired eastern European lady) was very brash at every interaction. The WiFi didnt work the first night and there was no apology from her, instead she said thats just the way it is sometimes another person did try to help and gave us premium connection codes which also didnt work but I appreciated the second person trying. When we did get wifi connection it was slow and kept dropping in and out! The second morning we asked the house person to clean the room and if we needed to let front desk know, she told us she would clean it and that we didnt need to inform front desk, I went to let front desk know anyway and no one was there. We tried another time to see front desk to request our room to be cleaned and know one was there and the office door was shut, the room had no phone so we couldnt connect with anyone to put in a request. The room on 2 occasions smelt like cigarettes so Im guessing people were smoking in other rooms which was unpleasant. Overall a very poor experience, probably one of the worst Ive had Infact and Ive stayed in a lot of hotels. I expected more from a new hotel and was excited about my stay, I know the brand is streamlined services but still it did not deliver on the basics.
This is a really nice Premier Inn. Friendly staff, room in good condition, decent shower and comfy bed. It felt new or recently updated. The breakfast was good, there were even vegan options and the breakfast staff were particularly nice. Well located for Peterborough centre, just over ten mins walk from the station and extremely handy for the passport office.
Veeery polite and nice stuff. Also cleanliness and standard of our room was more than good for the price that we have paid. Also very tasty breakfasts (although it would be a bit more nice to see more vegetables...).
Very helpful/friendly staff
We found Lina!!!! We stayed overnight here and cant fault a thing....we first met Lina when we stayed at the Fairy Meadows hotel and we were sad when we went back and Lina had moved on... What a great surprise to find her here and doing her magic....she makes the place....we be back!!
Lina makes this hotel
Beautiful stay and lovely breakfast worth every penny Rooms: Very spacious Walkability: I had to attend a court hearing it was on the doorstep Food and drinks: Excellent service
Highly condescending and rude staff, especially the manager Ann, her service is appalling and unwelcoming, the male staff who was rude refused to give his name for the appropriate complaints channel, 0/10 would never stay there again and do not recommend to family or friends
Upon arrival staff were very pleasant, signing in was easy, rooms were clean and tidy, nice area were we had a meal, the same area were we had our breakfast which was lovely, the Inn is not far away from the city centre about a 5-10 minute walk and there is a convenient parking area on site, the only issue we had was the WiFi, one minute you can log on then later on you couldnt log in. Rooms: We were impressed with the cleanliness and layout and comfortable bed. Food and drinks: We had the meal deal, it was well worth it, good food and choice in drinks.
Great location, staff amazing, iron and ironing board there in seconds. Only downside was the Chinese guy on nights was so rude and unapproachable. He must have had a bad day so I wont judge. Overall ......great.
Location was excellent for us. We had a corner room with great views. Air con worked a treat also. The bar give us an ice bucket for the room for our own drinks which was very reasonable of them. The breakfast is good value at a tenner and worth having
Not enough parking spaces at the hotel which is annoying, especially when you arrive there late to discover you now need to go back out and park in the public carpark at a cost but it is only over the road. It could just be bad timing on my part but there never seems to be anyone at reception when I arrive other than that its just like all your other premier inns.
Great central location and clean rooms are the positives. For the negatives... - check in is strictly adhered to by the staff, which isnt great when youve driven 4hrs to get there 45mins early and are told you need to wait or pay a £10 early check in fee... Feels a little Ryanair-esque... Cheap and nasty approach to customer service. - parking is a little annoying. You need to pay for the hotel parking every single time you exit, e.g. if youre popping out to grab a bite to eat. This wasnt by the staff and the signage didnt make it clear, so a chance to get a £100 fine for non-payment... So be aware. - the ultimate premier WiFi was atrocious and unusable... was seeing 0.24mbps, which took me back to the dial-up modem days... Make sure you have a decent mobile data plan if you need to access the Internet whilst staying. - TV service in the room was also not great. Picture quality was okay, but channel selection was frustratingly slow. Gave up using the TV. Rooms: Booked a premier plus room. It was clean and comfortable, but honestly I cannot tell you what was plus about the room... it seemed comparable to any of the standard Premier Inn rooms Ive stayed in over the years.
Been a few times for breakfast, staff are friendly, dining room is spotless, exceptional value , cooked food is hot and plentiful, continental buffet is fabulous also would definitely recommend trying
Couldnt fault it, staff were lovely, room was clean and comfortable, and so quiet, slept great
Decent service x
Did not stay at hotel, but popped in for breakfast (£9.99 and up to 2 kids eat free). Cant knock that. Food was great. Definitely one of the better Premier Inn breakfasts. Staff very friendly.
This premier inn located right in the centre of Peterborough was very clean, comfortable and the air conditioning was very good too. We slept really well. I do agree with other reviews that the on site parking managed by another company isn t ideal being approx £12 a night. We downloaded the app on arrival and paid for our parking. Please note that if you leave the car park & plan on returning you will require to pay for parking again. I d suggest this premier inn is very good for one night, but not ideal for any more due to this parking set up. There is another car park across the road alternatively.
Great hotel located in a nice location. Breakfast and dinner was nice. The staff Luke Dom and their manager sorry I didn t catch his name were very hospitable and the service received was amazing. Hopefully when I come to Peterborough I will surely stay at this lovely hotel again.
Great location near the city centre. Clean and tidy rooms. The breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel for a long time. High quality ingredients and the chef cooked it to perfection.
Stay was fine room good , food good and the staff were very helpful, but the Internet wasnt working it was blamed on the bad weather, I was at an event literally across the road they did have an issue . I was I informed an engineer was coming but nothing happened, surely there should be a back up or the staff trained in what to do if the Internet drops out , this was very frustrating and annoying as I was due to get a Internet call from my family in new zealand . Rooms: Very clean room , shame the windows dont open a fraction Nearby activities: I believe the cathedral was close by and a river walk, a very nice setting Safety: I liked the idea of having to scan your room key the press the lift button stop anyone who shouldnt be there Walkability: It was close to most things and an event I was attending across the road Food and drinks: Meal was ok breakfast a little disappointed but I ate it
Noteworthy details: Very clean but basic comforts, i.e. enough coffee and tea for one cup. Only one towel between two in room. No one on reception and checkin machines out of order. Given one key only for room. Bathroom fittings are inadequate if you want a bath. Rooms
Really nice staff, great customer service. Here on a work trip and it s made my journey more comfortable knowing i have a nice room to come back to :) Food and drinks: The food is really tasty and really well priced!!
We had an excellent overnight stay and the staff couldnt have been more helpful. In particular, Lina, who helped us accommodate 3 little extras at extremely short notice. My thanks to her and the rest of the staff for making our stay stress free. Would choose Premier Inn again. Food and drinks: Staff dealt with a difficult, loud, drunk and rude customer with tact and diplomacy. Especially reminding him there were children present and to tone down his language.
Windows dont open, no fans or aircon in room, like a permanent sweat box Probably okay in winter, but unbearable during summer. Location is good and its quiet, but having a room thats too hot to sleep in makes it a pointless place to stay Rooms : 1/5
This is my first experience in a premier inn and i must say it was a treat. Absolutely no complaints. The rooms are super clean the food is delicious and the staff friendly, welcoming and efficient. I was served by Peter who went above and beyond and made my dining alone not so lonely. All in all i had a great birthday. I will be returning. Thank you Peter x Food and drinks: Food is all delicious with generous portions i was stuffed.
One of the best we ve visited. Lack of enough parking spaces lost it a star though. Good breakfast. Air conditioning was working.
The overall stay was ok. Breakfast was very basic not much options and no vegetarian options only pork. Outside smoking area no seats for disabled customers. Family room only had hot drink stuff for only two people. A mini fridge would be good especially for family rooms when stay longer than one day. Staff were very polite and friendly. Hotel was very clean. I would come and stay again but no have the breakfast.
The guy at the check Inn was extremely helpful and entertaining with the check in. I didnt catch his name but great service.
Only thing that let this hotel.down was the smell of BO yes body odour and the fact there was no Internet. Parking on the other hand I had to pay £5 for 30 mins but when an overnight stay only cost £12 Apart from that beds were comfortable rooms were spacious as we had family room bathroom was good size and modern
Perfect service Lina is amazing
All staff very friendly and helpful
Rooms: Pulizia carente Rooms
Would use again. Good location. Clean room.
Great location when you re visiting Peterborough. Lina the duty manager is a great host and can t believe she still remembers me after 1 years . Easy access to city centre and the cathedral Rooms
Was my first experience in a premier inn, and i must say it was a treat. Absolutely no complaints. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly, situated in a good area, with a beautiful wiew to the river. Its definitely welcoming and efficient. I would come and stay again.
Brilliant hotel in the middle of town centre. The only downside is as a customer, you need to pay for parking .
Does what it says on the tin, like every Premier inn. Wouldnt entertain a lover here, but for business or a night out, its ideal and value for money Rooms
A good standard Premier inn. Easy walking distance to all the city centre amenities. I didnt feel like I wanted to park my car here but all was good Although surrounded by a road I couldnt hear the traffic at all either. Rooms
Was our 5th wedding anniversary weekend Lina and Celia made our room very welcoming with a bottle of red to greet us was well impressed. Food and drinks: Had a meal and was really nice Noteworthy details: Lina and celia on reception were really helpful thank you we had a nice break.
Lina has given great service and always checked if everything was ok. I recommend this hotel.
The hotel is in a good position for city centre. The windows do not open so the room felt very claustrophobic , I understand you cannot have windows opening wide but to have a little air come in would be good , goodness knows what it must feel like in the height of summer ! The room was clean . Reception : this lady Lina I believe her name was lets premiere in down ,incredibly rude no customer service what so ever , premium inn needs to up their game if this is who they put in front of house . Booked the restaurant , so unprofessional we asked a member of staff where we order food from and he didn t know and he worked in the restaurant!!! We then left and and went out for food , if it was not for the two lovely ladies at breakfast Lorraine and Kate who were helpful and friendly we would be saying we had an awful experience in premier inn . Premier inn you need to invest in some serious staff training and customers service skill s.
A great hotel to stay at I fully recommend it, staff were very helpful ,room was lovely & location to Peterborough town . Stayed here for 2 nights . A very quiet hotel no traffic noise . Will definitely stay here again when next visiting . 5 star all the way anything you needed staff was very helpful to go above & beyond
Room was good but it was the second visit in 2 weeks and wifi still wasnt working
No wifi, even though I paid for a plus room and they had no intention to fix it. Just said it was up to virgin. No phone data signal for EE or 3. Restaurant was atrocious. Waiting 45 mins for starters and just got plain wings. When i asked for the dip and dressing, they said sorry we have run out and no alternative available. The room was nice though.
The staff need to have a consistent approach to how they deal with the allowances that are prepaid before going to the hotel. Despite prices being shown inclusive of VAT on a recent stay our meal allowance of £28 was being put through as £23 to cover this. In a group of 4 and 5 as we were this built up. The glimpse of the receipt that I did see showed the same prices as on the menu. So why, when there is an allowance prepaid are we paying VAT twice? The location has very limited parking and appears to be a free for all with spaces and double parking. Again, consistency in communication was not evident as some of my colleagues paid for parking and some were told that the payment had been pre-paid.
Hood location, good hotel, shame about the £12 to park the car.
All good, plenty of parking, good conference rooms
A great place for a weekend away. Nice and clean and parking on site and 24hrs is £12 but with premier inn you dont mind as if you book room in advance its very reasonable.
Great premier inn if you are staying in Peterborough, very clean, staff are good nothing to much trouble, good carpark but limited spaces, more carpark across the road, location is great for football, shopping, restaurants and bars
I stay at this hotel regularly. It s well positioned in the middle of PTown and the staff are attentive and helpful. You get a level of consistency and quality from Premier Inn which makes you come back. Rooms
Booked a Premier room. The room was nice at first then it all went down hill. There was a rip in the duvet cover. Asked for it to be changed. Young lady came to change it and then found the bottom sheet and mattress protector was strained as well. So everything was off the bed. Then after the 4th attempt it was right. The bathroom was nice and clean. The only problem was why have they got the handle on the inside of the shower door. Bit weird. Couldnt get the ultimate WiFi to work. Back down to reception. She came me another code but still no joy. When back again she said cant you use the free WiFi??? If you pay for a Premier room you get free upgrade to ultimate WiFi. So not happy about that. Asked if they had de cafe coffee for the pods. She said NO. Just used the necafe satchels. Service wasnt good. When you pay for a premium service you expect to get it. The tea tray had 1 english breakfast, 1 Earl Grey, 3 mint. 2 sugars and 4 uht milk. Even though there was a fridge in the room. Wouldnt recommend a Premier room to my friends and family and it wasnt worth the extra money.
Nice new Premier Inn right in the center of Peterborough so ideal placement for shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The bar is quite expensive at the Premier Inn but very clean and there are many other bars just a few mins walk away. Nice big car park just outside the Premier Inn that works on number plate recognition and costs £12 for 24 hours so is quite reasonable considering the location. One thing to mention was that on the day we stayed it snowed over night and the car park was very slippery in the morning as there was no sign of gritting having taken place. Overall we did have a great stay though so would recommend this Premier Inn to anyone visiting Peterborough.
Thumbs up
It was ok breakfast could have been better. Its a bit noisy but ok
Good comfortable clean room
It is a perfect place to base a romantic couple of days around. Rooms: Very clean and warm. The bath was a bit on the small side. Walkability: Easy to get to from the bus station. Food and drinks: Great cooked breakfast with friendly staff on hand.
Great service, great site
