We had a wifi problem throughout the whole stay (6 days), where the problem was not solved after many attempts of asking the reception for help... other reviews and customers at the hotel have mentioned the same problem. at this point the hotel should advertise themselves as no wifi available. terrible customer service around this problem. the reception staff has to be improved. the cleaners, waiters were kind and nice, the room was ok.
I have been to this hotel before for my 18th birthday (now 25) and wanted to revisit as it was such a blast originally! I went bed and breakfast and I believe this was the best for fussy eaters and those who struggle with international foods / allergies. Breakfast was always replenished fast and had tonnes of options from fresh fruit, new pastries every day, lots of breads / spreads / cheeses / hams / fried foods / sweet pancakes / hot foods / international foods / mimosas / hot drinks / fresh juices etc Evening entertainment was quite slow, a lot for the kids but feel like the adult entertainment wasn’t as promoted or thought about. Was good on a Saturday night with the DJ. Pool bar is fabulous for foods and drinks, best and probably cheapest cocktails around. However, disappointing that they stopped selling food at 4:00pm when dinner wasn’t on until 6:30pm, and I felt this wasn’t advertised appropriately. The rooms were so clean and great, cleaners did a great job and even left us a sweet on our beds ! Only complaint is that the dish towels are not replaced in the kitchenettes (if your room has one) and the soap doesn’t last long. Also, at night we had some bugs crawl out of the air conditioning, and finally, in the evening it was quite cool and the hot air does not work in the rooms it only blows cold air. No sun bed wars here! Plenty of beds throughout the day. However, saw quite a lot of women with their tops off at the children’s pool end, causing some kids to be uncomfortable. My main issue with the holiday at this hotel was that the pool life guard was on her phone a lot, and when some rowdy parents and children brought balls into the pool and it began hitting people in the face or hitting children, she did not address it when confronted (neither did the parents when confronted - and when asking another holiday person, they said this had happened for a few days). This meant I had to go to reception to complain and I left the pool to go sit at the pool bar - but the ball was still in the pool even after the life guard got a stern talking to, making lots of people leave the pool area. I felt like if I had brought my child on holiday I wouldn’t have been comfortable at all with this. Overall a great holiday and great reception staff and housekeeping staff and super comfy and clean. Super easy to get to from airport, 8 mins in a taxi and under 20 euros. Also there is a train-car outside the hotel that can take you down the complete other end of the bay where it’s more busier and where the local market is. You can buy tickets on the train for about 4.60 euros pp and this includes your return, or scan the code at the bus stop with your phone and buy online for about 4.20 euros. Please note for the surrounding area; prices have inflated dramatically and alcohol especially is expensive. The beach bar next to the hotel for 2 cocktails was 23 euros.
Me and my partner have just returned home from a 5 night stay at the hotel. The location is great a 5 minute drive from the airport and a step away from the beach, also has a small shop on the side of the hotel for everything you might need. First tip, but a pack of water bottles, water is not drinkable from taps. The breakfast was great, the restaurant staff were so fast and efficient, the outdoor bar was great, the older gentleman serving was lovely, remembered drink orders always smiling and welcoming. We also had massages, could only do one at a time but we're allowed to use saunas while waiting. There is also small inside pool and large outdoor. Dinner service was ok, the main course food was questionable, had what I believe was supposed to be lemon chicken that had a coat of jelly, like it had come from a tin, and options were very bland, but the salad, cheese and dessert options were great. The room itself wasn't quite what was expected, booked a double room, had 2 singles pushed together with separate duvets, so spent most of the time pushing them back together, kettle and cups with no teas or coffees, only bin is in the bathroom, the rooms seem to be a little run down compared to the rest of the hotel, cleaners made up our room twice during our stay, but do come in daily if wanted, they seem to just make the bed and empty the one bin, I didn't see any of the cleaners with hoovers, which showed from the grit on the floors. Would I stay again, yes, but the rooms(cleaners) and dinner options let it down and reception staff were a little grumpy at times made you feel like a burden, but informative and got things done for you.
No change, other than, in has just been named as the 3rd best place to eat in the Peterborough area!! Kid-friendliness: The staff love having children in .

A lovely find, didnt expect to find a Italian restaurant open on a Tuesday lunchtime. We had a lovely meal, especially the panettone bread & butter pudding. We also discovered that they do hampers of all things Italian so we arranged for a hampyto be sent as a present. Excellent service.

Cannot fault Fontenellas in Mallorca- which enjoys a prime position on Long Beach at Parma - and easy to park. Stayed off-season in January 2023 for 8 days and was impressed with front desk staff, indoor pool and room cleaning etc. Food in buffet restaurant was also impressive...with lots to choose from and inexpensive. Would definitely stay again. Full marks.

Amazing!Very nice and polite people! Room clean ,breakfast delicious with plenty of options for just 12euro pp . It has a indoor/outdoor pool , laundry and a luggage room where we could keep our stuff after checking out at 12pm and waiting to leave for a plane around 6pm The hotel is place right next to the beautiful beach!Easy access (2mins walk) to the bus stop if you want to explore Palma de Mallorca which is also amazing bus takes only cash 2euro pp
Very lovely restaurant with incredibly friendly staff. Took my Nan here for lunch (she is a bit of a regular there) and had a great time. Big menu and, if you go, make sure to have the Tirimasu for desert. Home made and delicious.

Just returned from a short break to Fontanellas. Beautiful hotel, very clean, staff very helpful and friendly, we only had breakfast included but it was the nicest buffet breakfast Ive ever had! Location excellent. Cant fault at all. Would definitely recommend.
MAN that was some good pizza. Even though I ate too much I can eat 10 more of them. The most DELICIOUS mushroom Ive ever had and the atmosphere is great. I might be a regular here after all. Highly recommend!

My favorite italian restaurant in Whittlesey.
We encouraged my 90 year old dad to try this local restaurant. He was reticent, as he does not eat Pizza or Pasta. The menu is vary varied however, and the chef very accommodating- and now my Dad takes mum there every week or two! A great find and good value. Pity they don t open evenings though.

I have heard nothing but good things about this place and was fortunate enough to go today. Service was amazing, food was incredible and delicious and the whole place had a real nice feel to it. I had the pasta carbonara which was incredibly tasty and fresh, followed by the tiramisu for dessert. Very reasonably priced and will go back as soon as Im able.

We walked past this little restaurant during a summer event when the town centre was closed to vehicles and made a mental note to go and try it some time. Today was the day and we walked in about 12 noon to a warm welcome. Although we had no booking we were given a table for 2, leaving only one more table apparently unreserved. The menu covers all tastes Italian, By the time starters arrived a few minutes later, the place was slowly filling with the regular lunchtime trade. The simple Antipasta starter was excellent. The mains ( we had Lasagne and a house special Maiale Marsala) instantly transported us back to wonderful meals in Italian Trattorias. Flavoursome and distinctly different to formulaic meals from larger establishments. This was food to savour. Now as we write this review, the taste of this meal lingers and all we want is more. The portions are just right.This is a small family run business and it deserves great success. Booking is really to be encouraged, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have secured a table. The prices are very resonable considering the quality, 1 starter, 2 mains, a desert, a bottle of house wine and finally a coffee for £45 is very good value. Thank you for a lovely meal J & J

We got home yesterday. Couldn t get in the pool it was too busy and noisy. Never got a sun bed. People put their towels on them and leave. They had a parrot show which I wouldn t watch as I don t like animals being used for entertainment - I could hear the music which was loud. Also the horses that pull the carriages looked in pain. Every horse when still had one hoof up - which could be bruising or an abscess. The hotel itself is nice and clean. The beach is very nice. Good view from our superior room. Didn t eat in so can t comment on the food.

This was the strangest tasting Lasagna I have had and they used the same sauce on my wifes meatballs. There was almost no mince in the Lasagna and was ground to fine. We will not going back here again. While this restaurant has been using these recipes for 10 years, they most probably need to get out and try a few other Italian restaurant to get an idea of what their food could taste like.

Lovely people and nice atomesphere. However, this place is not a 5 star italian restaurant. All dishes i have had are indeed amatuerish at best - pizza, pasta, meatballs. The pasta sauce lacks depth, and is sweet. The meatballs resemble canned versions, and are probably heavy on the pork and breadcrumbs. The pizza, heavy in undercooked cheese and the dough thin, but hard and dense like a tarali, especially at the crust. I can see why many like the food - typical Brits. And its not bad, but not great.
Food and service second to none. Pizzas taste like proper pizza found in southern Italy and pasta dishes delicate yet flavoursome, all the dishes we had tasted fresh and delicious. Couldn t resist desert, best tiramisu ever.

Friendly family run homemade food
This place is not worth even one star. The food quality and customer service is atrocious. The owner and his little son almost wanted to fight me outside the restaurant because I did not like his pasta, very professional. I ordered pasta bolognese, lasagna, pizza and tiramisu. I spent over 10 years in Italy and never seen such horrible italian food. Pasta bolognese had no sauce, no mince, couple of tomatoes and plain pasta, when I returned it, they accused me of throwing the sauce away. Why would I drive 30 miles and then return food that was untouched for the same amount of money? I told the owners little son that his pasta is horrible so he went right in my face and started yelling at me. Tiramisu full of water, pizza had hard dough and was undercooked. Lasagna was scary to even look at. I dont understand how this place has any stars. Dont waste your time if you looking for real authentic italian food or expecting quality food. The narcissistic owner and aggressive little son couldnt even apologise, absolutely pathetic place.
Absolutely disgusted with the quality of food and the attitude by these rude Italians. This is a very honest review, and anybody who has ever visited this horrible place, save your time and money and stay as far away as you can from this establishment that they call a restaurant. The food quality is not bad but absolutely shocking and looks nothing like in the photos. The pasta that I have been served had no sauce at all, and they said that s how they do it and it s my problem if I don t like it. Very arrogant and disrespectful owner and his child son is even worse.

Always a lovely warm and friendly welcome on arrival. Excellent authentic Italian food. Good choice of food, with great coffee. All good value. Situated in the centre of town. And the toilets are spotless. What more could you ask for? Well I would have liked the choice of non-dairy milk, as Im dairy intolerant.

Just had a really nice meal here. The place is cosy and the service is really friendly. My wife and I had the penne carbonara, meatball and mozzarella panini, chocolate fudge cake and bread and butter pudding. Thank you, well definitely visit again.

Just had a wonderful light lunch & coffee at charming Fontanellas. The panini fillings tasted flavorful & fresh. There were three gluten free desserts -- I tried the almond tart which was exquisite. The calzone was fried, not baked, which was unexpected, but not bad. The cappuccino was amazing. The proprietors welcomed us like family, and the service was gracious and prompt. Thank you, Mary, and your family, for making us feel so at home! Cant wait to visit again.
Pleasant little Italian café with hospitable and friendly staff. Premises was clean and presentable. Popped in for very reasonably priced breakfasts with tea for two for a tenner. Cant say fairer than that. A meat-free breakfast was put together without a big fuss. Would have been great to see a veggie sausage (or similar) on the menu - really easy to do, and wed have preferred a pot rather than a cup of tea with a bag in it, but the tea was good - even with a little Amaretti biscuit - and a good serving of milk. Service was excellent. Fully deserves its good Trip Advisor rating.

Excellent as usual. It was just after 11.30am when we went inside for a snack. And asked for bacon paninis but we hadnt realised that the breakfast menu ended at 11.30am. We were extremely greatful that we were allowed this. I fully understand that the menu is set for a reason and we will make sure we keep our eye on the clock next time. Thank you very much. It was very enjoyable.
Highly Recommended. Authentic Italian cuisine and such a wonderful and caring family-run business. The service is very personable and super efficient, the food was brought to our table much quicker than I would have expected. If you want a taste of Italy I highly suggest Fontanellas.

Atrocious meal (lunch). Just cant understand the 5 star ratings. It was truly awful microwaved rubbish. The narcissistic owner should be ashamed to call it Italian food. I am Italian and my wife is Sicilian and we both know what good food is and this definitely isnt. Shame on them.
