Lovely happy staff great atmosphere good food reasonabke prices. What more could you want?

The food was lovely, had a limoncello spritz which was a bit bitter than ones recently had in Italy, apart from that a lovely evening.

Special Stevie B night. A great party atmosphere with good Italian food and friendly service.

Had a work outing last night. The pollo piccante was really good, but the king prawn in paprika was absolutely superb. Recommend it. The staff were really friendly too. Great night. Dietary restrictions: My colleague had gluten free bread and pasta

If you come to England it is worth stopping in this small town to come and enjoy the cuisine of Peppe Boccia and Maria Boccia. Vesuvio Whittlesey an Italian restaurant that respects the Italian tradition of healthy and balanced cuisine, with particular emphasis on the pizza of the super pizza chef Giovanni! Absolutely everything to try!

My first time visiting Vesuvio, definitely wont be the last. Had a lovely meal which was prepared and presented very well. Tasty food, good portion sizes and plenty to choose from. Very welcoming and attentive staff made for a lovely evening out.

This is not Italian food.. people may be italian , but this menu would only get you shot in italy.... carbonara with cream...lol. where????... anway chicken with pasta....just says everything...... this is ital/english if at best....and really dont need to eat here to realise the quality ... if you cant even get the recipes correct well ..then not a lot more to be said

Always an amazing atmosphere! HIGHLY recommend one of their music nights! Accomodate celebrations. Amazing tasty food, never had a bad meal and reasonably priced too. Love that they hire the local schools older children as servers to give them work experience and something for their cv.

My partner and I used to regularly eat here when we lived close by, but we now live an hour away so hadn t been for two years. We made a special trip yesterday for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Absolutely amazing food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Authentic italian cuisine in Whittlesey! Everything was delicious. Amaizing pizza and pasta!! Panna cotta with pistacio cream blow our minds and tounges!! Just one thing which was not so good - tomatoes. I know it is really hard to get red and full of flavour tomatoes in UK and those in markets are just tasteless and orange but anyway that was perfect dinner for both of us!! Thank you. We will be back very soon

My husband & I booked a table for his birthday treat, we was seated straight away then asked would we like to order as she gave us the menu, we asked if we could have chance to look at menu 1st & asked for 2 beers, our drinks eventually arrived & was warm we was then asked again would we like to order we asked the waitress for a few minutes, 25mins later another waitress came to take our order. My husband ordered the bistecca vesuvio & I ordered polloi alla romana when our meal eventually came my meal was horrible I got 4 small pieces of chicken in what tasted & looked like thick chicken soup with 4 fried mushrooms on top, my husbands meal was just as bad. When a waitress asked if our meals was OK I said no its horrible, she then looked at me & laughed in my face I was shocked by this she then asked me the same question again & my reply was the same, its was horrible again the waitress laughed in my face. I had 1 piece of chicken & left all the meal. My husband asked for the bill & we left. We will never return to the restaurant, absolutely disgusting food & very unprofessional staff.

Vesuvio is a great little Italian restaurant. It is always busy and best to book in advance. Once entering you feel your back in Italy. There is a great variety of dishes to choose from plus daily specials. The service is brilliant and because it is always busy with good background music the atmosphere is great too

If I could leave 10 stars I would!! It was our first time at Vesuvio s and we regret not coming sooner! The food was delicious, the staff were amazing made us feel so well looked after and the live singer gave it an amazing atmosphere!!!

From arrival we were greated with warm smiles from all staff as if we were long lost friends. Service was excellent all the way through our service. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. I couldnt recommend here highly enough. We had a table of 4 adults and a 1 year old and the staff were fantastic with him making it a really special night for him. Thank you all for a wonderful night.

Having recently relocated from 38 years living in Whittlesey, one of the few things Ill really miss is Vesuvios. Brilliant food, service and child friendly too. Maria is a diamond and we have a lot of happy memories there. My future visits to Whittlesey will be under the charade of seeing family and friends but secretly it will be to get my Vesuvios fix. I recommend checking out the music nights too. Always a lot of fun.

The food is really good, the service could be friendlier. Would be great if staff knew what wine they got. It is you, the owner, who is unfriendly, which you show on your responses below, so no point telling you. You cant take feedback and blame me, the customer. Not a good strategy for a business.

A lovely family run restaurant that really delivers the true taste of Italy. The food is excellent value for money and is always good, piping hot and high quality as everything is home made. Having lived in Napoli for a few years I have missed the true authentic tastes of traditional pizza and pasta meals but wow does this place deliver! My favourite lasagna dish was a delight and accompanying dressed salad fresh and beautifully presented. Have dined here several times and cant praise the quality of food, service, decor and warm welcome highly enough. From the moment you step through the door to the time you leave we felt so welcomed, comfortable and just really well looked after. A gem of a restaurant in Whittlesey and weve had many a gathering and couple nights out here. Its one of my absolute favourite restaurants and if you havent been you should definitely book. Its a five star from me!

This is a very friendly family run restaurant with good prompt and attentive service. We dined at lunchtime (which was quite busy for a lunchtime that made me think it is a popular place to eat)and there was a good selection on the lunch menu and a special. The food was piping hot,very tasty and plentiful. The prices are very reasonable and we all had a great time. I would highly recommend Vesuvio. Thanks very much .

A fantastic family dinner. We took our kids to Vesuvio as it was the place I proposed to my partner over 4 years ago and Im happy to say it did not dissappoint. We were asked whether we wanted our kids mains with our starters which was a blessing as it kept them busy whilst we enjoyed our food. The mixed platter was fantastic the sauce in the prawns was amazing and the whitebait was 100% fresh as they tasted fantastic. The kids had a pizza and it was delicious. Very fresh and staff even took the time to interact with our kids which my wife and I really found a great touch. For our mains we had the pasta which was fresh and I had the marinara which tasted fantastic. Desserts were a fantastic end to our food journey having the tiramisu which was fresh and made on the day. We ended the meal with a shot of lemonshelo and our full meal came under £100. Definetly a fantastic place for authentic Italian food and great quality for your money.

First came here 8-9 years ago after a busy morning for late lunch. Always had vivid memories of it being a great, small, local restaurant. Rediscovered it tonight and I am glad to see it still has maintained that high quality standard and kept that small upbeat vibe. Highly recommend for a place to eat out. Dietary restrictions: Lots of menu items can be made gluten free if asked for. Parking: Parking literally 3-4 minute walk away. Kid-friendliness: As its a small local informal restaurant, kids are welcome.

Convivial atmosphere, warm and friendly staffs. Had my best pollo picante, very delicately balanced flavours. They also have a nice collection of drinks which are fairly priced. Easily a 5 star from me.

Food was terrible greasy no taste or flavour. Lady behind bar poured a glass of wine & as it dripped down side of glass she wiped it off with her finger, service needs to be improved.

Visited the restaurant with friends (we dont live in the area) and I was struck by the warm and friendly atmosphere as we walked in. The staff were lovely and our food was outstanding. Piping hot and extremely tasty. Im coeliac and was amazed by the extensive variety of gluten free dishes on the menu. The cost was amazingly low. Hope we get the opportunity to done here again. My husband and I visited this restaurant with my brother. We had a fabulous evening. Sky was our waitress, she was very attentive. The food was absolutely out of this world, we had several starters which we shared and then our main courses. We talked about the meal so much and couldn t say which was our favourite as we loved it all. We will definitely b returning and would not hesitate in recommending to eat here. Maria who is the owner with her husband are brilliant hosts, u couldn t ask for anything better in anyway.

Could not fault the restaurant. The food was phenomenal and well presented the service was spot on and very friendly from the moment you step in to the moment you leave. Will definitely be back :)

Last night our family had the pleasure of having delivered a selection of food from Vesuvios. Arrived on time and was piping hot - but thats just the beginning .... - The Bruschettas were superb! - The home made Lasagne was to die for!! - The mushroom risotto was (aka Deborah) Out of this World!!! - The Pizza was authentic Italian pizza, couldnt fault it!!!! The puddings however took everything up another level as well - The Slice of Apple Pie was (aka D again) Divine - The Tiramisu was, simply, the best I have ever had ......... and Ive had more than my fair share as it is my favourite dessert Thank you Vesuvio. cannot recommend you highly enough, nor can I remember when I have had a better meal (in years), let alone as a take-away Len

Food was good and tasty - can recommend the vesuvio platter as a starter and my pizza was very tasty, everyone else at the table was pleased with their meal as well. The service was slow and not very attentive, e.g. only one glass per person provided but we ordered wine and water and had to ask for another glass - which is exactly what we got although there were 7 of us - eventually got more glasses. Coffee at the end also took a while hence 4 stars. Would we go back - certainly worth it for the quality of the food.

We went here for a meal while shopping in Whittlesey. They have a great choice of dishes and where I normally struggle to find gluten free food, here it is not a problem! Plenty of choice for g/f as well! And the pan fried chicken with mushrooms in a creamy garlic and mushroom sauce was delicious. The restaurant was clean and welcoming, the staff were welcoming and attentive; I would recommend this place to anyone.
