Argo Lounge in Peterborough

December 2022. Went here for dinner with my partner, we both had the chicken paramo burger, chips and slaw. We both added an extra fillet which is great that you can do that! On arrival, we were asked if we had any dietary requirements or allergies then instructed to pick a seat. I liked being able to pick so we could avoid loud parties. We ordered and paid at the table and very quickly our drinks came out and shortly followed by our dinner. All the food was amazing, the staff very friendly also. Would definitely recommend . Went the next day for lunch and it was very busy, waited about 5 mins to be seated which was fine as its quality food. Again it came very quickly and tasted amazing. December 2022-We went to the argo Lounge just over a week after the first visits but with our 2 young children. Caters well for kids. The mac cheese was missing the garlic bread which wasnt a big deal and the chicken in our burgers were slightly over done so they were very Crispy, still tasted nice but not as nice as our previous visit. December 2023 - again, beautiful food, amazing atmosphere. Love it in here April 2024 -went here for our anniversary meal, had a lovely meal. Staff so friendly. Cocktails full of ice so Id say tone down on ice and more drink . Will keep coming back! December 2024 - came here for a date night, ordered Korean chicken burger and fries. Which tasted amazing, fresh and hot. My partner ordered the lounge bacon cheese burger which he scoffed down and said was amazing! The mocktails were tasty and absolutely loved the caramel sundae and the sticky toffee pudding went down a treat . The staff so friendly and helpful. Would definitely return and recommend.

Was in a hurry to catch a train and the staff were very helpful in getting my food quickly and in a box to go. Had the all day breakfast and they knocked it out the park. Truly delicious.

Argo is my favourite place in Peterborough town at the moment.Great atmosphere for any occassion.Ive been there for brunch,evening cocktails with tapas,food and drinks for a work do,date night,Sunday lunch with my daughter.And all I had,was great experience.The staff is always nice and welcoming,food is always delicious(beyond meat burger is my fav right now).I love the decor.

I had a really nice meal in there and cant fault it, however I was really stunned by the attitude of one of the managers, he was from another store based on what he was saying to people, so maybe this review would be better attached to his place. To be talking in the inappropriate way that he was on the restaurant floor really shocked me. Disappointed that people like that still rule.

If you haven t tried the Argo Lounge downtown Peterborough, you should! Outstanding food and the place has an uber cool vibe loved it. Without a booking we were seated promptly (all six of us ) and the service was warm friendly and professional. Ordering at the bar so whenever you want to place your order, the meals were delivered to the table, prompt and knockout delicious. Plenty of great tap beers, but opted for a flat white and boom wow it was good and hot. Had the Budha Bowl with Halloumi, EPIC. Generous sized meal with flatbread on the side and all sorts of gourmet ingredients. Flavours were simply outstanding. Place is bustling and interesting, dog friendly, and had the feel of a well run gastro eatery. that s 5 stars from us.

Large table booked for alot of people. We arrived an hour 20 mins late due to bowling running over, However Jake and Julia I believe their names were, they were so accommodating, the food was quick, and very filling. We had a couple of specifications but they met them, They were really friendly. Not to mention we ordered the food at 9:30pm and kitchen closes for food at 10pm they did super work! 10/10 place, Recommend to anyone.

had a nice time. Gluten free menu does offer lots of options. However, the food itself wasn t amazing. And the chocolate torte tasted almost play dough like, which I can only assume is due to it being gluten free, but not worth the money. I also ordered food and was later told that it was unavailable, so had to quickly decide what to have instead, which sort of ruined the experience for me. Perhaps staff should make us aware before ordering what is out of stock in order to avoid disappointment. Manager was very friendly and considerate. Service is a 4/5, food 2/5, which is why I leave 3 stars.

We had lunch with a friend and it was quite lovely. The food was really good and the service was nice. The atmosphere was really great as we sat outside and saw street performers and that was very entertaining.

Good menu choices vegans and vegetarian friendly, we both had a good meal and would definitely return next Peterborough beer festival, just what you need the next morning after a full day on beer.

Alex, Vytee and Flynn all provided excellent 5 star customer service today at Argo Lounge! I had come in with an old friend and they made us feel right at home. They gave us a lovely selection of mocktails, from coconut to pineapple! we both went with the coco pineapple punch and they were the best mocktails we ve ever had! Absolutely would return here and the trio were the best bartenders i ve ever encountered! :))

Had breakfast, 1st offering was cold and was replaced without fuss, however, the sausage and bacon were still cold along with the tinned mushrooms, cost at £15 was reasonable for a city centre but you have to ask yourself why it was only 10% full on a busy Thursday morning. Coffee was really good though and the front of house staff were doing their best.

Took my two and a half year old granddaughter for lunch. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Highly recommend.

Came in for dinner. Got a couple of burgers - both the same one. I had sweet potato fries with mine and the other was with plain fries, both were cold and promptly replaced when mentioned but I think they may have just gone back into the fryer as mine were overdone and scorching hot when they came back out. Noticed toward the end that the burgers were also the wrong way around as mine should have had jalapeños and the other without so my dining partner who doesnt agree with spicy got an unpleasant surprise and I was disappointed. We had paid by the app and no check back done but by that point we were pretty much done and wanted to get going so left it. The atmosphere inside seemed great, loved the decor and enjoyed being able to sit outside. Just got let down by the food.

The person in charge of employment has absolutely smashed it out of the park with Emi and Nikisha. After a minor miscommunication these two came through with not only exemplary customer service but went above and beyond to rectify the mishap. Nikisha was well mannered and kind. Emi was courteous and even left a heart on my coffee, making the day that bit sweeter. These two deserve the shout out

This is a wonderful place from what Ive seen in my time there. Fantastic friendly staff who seem genuine and that makes a difference. The whole atmosphere is great due to the staff I feel. Also a beautiful building etc. Best pub in Peterborough

We went in after a meal elsewhere to continue celebrating my husbands 50th birthday. The staff were abrupt and very unhelpful. We had to sit in 2 separate groups away from each other. We were told to sit down, to get away from the bar (there were only 4 of us standing chatting at this point). Under NO circumstances could any tables be moved despite no one else being in that area. The whole place was really quiet so you think that the staff would be more welcoming and accommodating. Really disappointed in the attitude of the staff, especially as we just wanted a pleasant night of celebration

So pleased when I got into Peterborough city and came across Argo Lounge . These are popping up everywhere I seem to go, even in my town of Basildon. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is relaxed, the food is always good and my 2 dogs are always made comfortable. What more could I ask for? Vegetarian options: From starters to desert, vegan and vegetarian options are available.

Went for the first time. Was pleasantly surprised by it all.. was a bit noisy but found a quiet corner. Had some drinks which I found rather expensive.. a half pint of ginger beer and a pint of coke... £7.50 wow...the menu looked nice and interesting.. so ordered chicken bacon and avacado burger home made slaw and sweet potato fries.. in a few minutes it was in front of us.. it was definitely nice good flavour well presented.overall a pleasant experience.. will go again but will drink water ha ha .. . Parking: Behind the town hall is free after 18.30 hours.. Wheelchair accessibility: No problem at all..

Visited today for a team work brunch/ leaving , the staff had set up a lovely table downstairs for us all. I had eggs with bacon hollandaise, we had a variety of dishes, which to be honest I had food envy over all of them ! The pancakes and buttermilk chicken dishes looked awesome, and the vegan/veggie dishes I m told were fab. I haven t been here for ages after a bad experience, and I am happy to say I will definitely be back soon. The staff were absolutely lovely so all in all a great time .. Thank You.. Had the Harissa Chicken and wasn t really sure if it should have been served hot or cold as it was neither, lots of it but poor quality ingredients, all a bit stodgy. Service was good but food average.

Always a lovely atmosphere here, met a friend on a Saturday afternoon, it was packed, so only tables were downstairs... ordered using the app, considering how busy they were, service was speedy. Our first itme dining at the Argo Lounge for my grand daughters 21st birthaday. The staff are amazing, they are friendly, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. They know their job and clients needs so well. A big thankyou for helping to making it a special night from all of the ten people in our party. The food was delicious, everyone one of us enjoyed our choices and we were all served together. We are looking forward to our return meal and trying other options. There used to be homeless people sleeping along the corridor next to the restaurant, and it used to stink as you walked down there. It was off-putting. I am glad that the situation has been resolved and that the homeless have moved on. This place has been around for a while now. Probably one of the longest-running bars in Peterborough. Many others have come and gone, but this one is still going. In my opinion, the drinks are quite costly. But I am glad the locals are supporting it and it is doing well as far as I can see.

Ordering food via a QR code in the downstairs area was painful to say the least as there is not much signal and couldnt find the wifi. But persevering eventually paid off. The food I ordered was OK, nothing great it was tastier than it looked. Id go again, but not in a great rush to do so.

We have come here a few times and had lovely food and service. We came recently on a busy day, placed the order at the bar and after 20mins, still had not received our drinks. I asked a waiter, who then got our drinks. Another 25mins later, still no food and other customers who came after us were getting theirs. Enquired again and this time spoke to Tami. She immediately chased it up, apologised and told us there had been a problem with the order going through and made sure we got our meal. She then checked in on us and made sure we had everything. At the end, she also gave us a voucher to apologise again and just as we were leaving, the manager then came to us to apologise. Whilst I wish the first waiter had chased up our food, I am really impressed with the service we received. Mistakes happen but its how you deal with them and with the service we received (and the food was lovely!) we would definitely come back again and again.

Picked this place because it looked cute from the outside and it was dog friendly. Was pleasantly surprised by the menu and enjoyed everything we ordered. Would definitely go again if Im ever in Peterborough, again.

Went in just before Xmas, with many parties happening, so was a little odd to have to wait to be seated just for a drink, but we were only waiting for 2 mins at least. Ordered on the app, drinks arrived in good time and were excellent. Will definately return.

Had lunch today and it was busy but the staff managed to find us a table. I had the pulled brisket chilli with added chorizo and spicy rice. Absolutely delicious.

Last time I went there was a really loud and obnoxious table of drunk middle aged women embarrassing themselves. They weren t spoken to at all despite clearing out the whole area. Every other time I ve been there it s been amazing but maybe they need a policy to talk to clearly obnoxious people.

The Argo Lounge is a very laid-back bar and restaurant and I like that their menu stays consistent so I know what I want to order whenever I come here to visit. Ive enjoyed trying their different styles of food but what I dont like personally is how expensive the tapaas is for the portion you get. I understand tapas is a small plate but for that price, it feels a little steep especially if this was in Spain it would be no more than three euros each instead of six to eight pounds for a small plate. Having said that I love their salads and its delicious and very fresh tasting. The staff here are lovely and you can order through the bar or you can do it through the QR code. Its really easy to do it and they have a downstairs section too which is quiet and they also have wifi and power outlets so you can charge your devices while eating.

I had the big lounge breakfast. The quality of the items was good. However most of it was only warm and I prefer my food to be hot.(Luke warm beans are not for me) The breakfast comes with 2 fried eggs served on white or brown toast. My toast was not toast at all... It was just warm bread buttered with a spread which had melted underneath the egg making the bread soggy with spread. This wasnt to my taste and I left it. Having said all that I still believe it is nearly a very good breakfast... Please just serve the items hot and toast the bread properly.

Not a bad place for breakfast in the city center. The food wasn t bad and the service was really good, all of the staff were friendly and polite. We got there just before it got really busy so the wait for food wasn t long at all. They had a selection of games which kept the kids entertained.
