Fantastic turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. Only eat in restaurant we could find open on Thanksgiving Monday serving turkey.

We come here a lot for the Thursday half priced wings. They are tasty, hot and good value. The staff are friendly and have always got our orders right. Would recommend.

Very disappointed in the breakfast menu says the breakfast sausages are grilled but they are deep fried in old oil which taste really disgusting.

Does one really need that many tvs? LOL. But the food and service and price is really good. But I dont think hardly anyone is watching the sports on the tvs.

Tuesday visits are a must for 99c wings. I m not a huge fan of wings in general but these are fantastic. Will certainly be coming back for another round! Great menu and lots of options!

Was ok menu has a good variety. Was a little disappointed that the special was after 8 pm on a Monday. We were there at 7 pm. Had to repeat our water request several times, the server kept forgetting was not busy. Food pk hubbys burger was burnt and dry my fish and chips were good.

Ordered for take out the food was awful Ordered a chicken sandwich bread was wet, not toasted, and chicken unseasoned. Garlic bread didn t even have garlic butter but pasta was okay. Don t recommend take out from here eat in food is much better. Won t be my choice for bday take out again

Came here for mothers day on Saturday. It was quite busy though I had made a reservation so we got seated quickly. We got our drink orders and ordered our mains. I will say, the main courses did take awhile to come out to us. It was really busy though so could have just been an off day for them. The food was really good. I got the Santa fe chicken which came with TWO chicken breasts, carrots and sweet pepper sand I got fries as my side. I had so much I ate my leftovers for dinner the next day. My husband got the lasagna which he really liked and the others in our group got the souvlaki and the Reuben sandwich which looked really good as well. Other than the wait for food, I would say it was good and would recommend.

Seated promptly and the server was very pleasant and attentive. The four of us enjoyed our well prepared and plentiful orders that were served promptly. Definitely do recommend Food

First time here and I was impressed. Super fast service, large portions and excellent food. It was a bit noisy but thats to be expected in a sports bar. Highly recommend this restaurant and I plan more return trips.

The food here was so good, high quality, and very filling. Castle johns is always the go-to restaurant for me and my family because of their food and service. The waiter, Keaton, was very helpful as well, and the service here is great. The employees are so friendly as well. Definitely coming back!

My two friends and I went to lunch at Castle Johns today, I was so impressed!! I had the soup salad brosheta and they had fish and chips, it was delicious The server was great, and the atmosphere was really nice. I would recommend it highly! Parking: Easy to access

Only one that is open the fish were good.

We went here last week, and our only complaint was about the beef dip sandwich. It was greasy and soggy. Our appetizers were amazing though we got the yorkies and potato skins, the drinks were also good and our server was so sweet. She actually had the beef dips taken off our bill because we didnt really eat them. Definitely will go back to try something else.

We had a great experience at Castle Johns. The menu is amazing with lots of diverse and interesting choices! We had the fish tacos, beef dip sandwich and yorkies with the soup of the day and garden salad. The portions were a good size. The service was prompt and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised by the prices. We will definitely go back again!

Food was good the service was very slow for Sunday night and only had maybe four tables full .took us over half hour for our food to come to us

Food was great but our service and server was AWFUL. We were dropped our food and were missing a requested item and never got to ask about it because the next time we saw him he was taking one empty plate away over 20-25 mins later while the other person was still eating then seconds later showed up with the bill and debit machine. Still while the one person was still eating their food. Nothing like feeling rushed out! We asked for some time to finish and digest first. When looking at the bill, it was noted that there was a charge for the item that was never brought and we wanted to speak to him about it. He was no where to be found so we talked to the first staff we saw and explained our disappointment in our visit. This waiter quickly apologized and said the charge would be removed and went to find our waiter. He finally appeared and was very defensive, offered no apology, and was frankly quite rude. We were one of the one tables left in this section. There was no thank you, no have a good evening, no apology- not even small talk. I know everyone has a bad day- but this was just plain poor service and not what we are accustomed to at Castle John s. He definitely did not embrace your motto on your website homepage. We very much did not feel welcome and are quite disappointed with this visit.

The atmosphere and service was great tonight! Our server Branden made it amazing as well! He was friendly, helpful, quick and even went as far to notice I didnt eat the olive from my Caesar and instead of an olive for my second drink, he gave me 2 Pickles lol really shows he pays attention to his customers and I really appreciated that extra touch! First time visiting, my wife had the seafood linguine. She loved it? I had the peppercorn burger. It was an awesome juicy burger !Best burger I have had in a long time. Second visit my wife had the chicken parmesan with linguine in a rose sauce. She loved it! I had the lasagna. Flavor was good but way overcooked! The servers are friendly and checked on us regularly. Finally the prices were reasonable and the portions big! Forget to mention the chefs salad. Fresh crisp ingredients and again, a large portion! Thank you Castle Johns! Another note:we travel from Bancroft to eat there (1.25 hours)just to spoil ourselves!

Had a few apps and a couple pints everything was amazing.

Normaly would recommend this place to anyone but lately downhill. Was served an amigo salad with manure still on the mushrooms, I picked them out of the salad and showed the server the clumps of soil, she apologized and took the mushroom that had the most soil on it back to show this kitchen. She did not return again other than at the time to pay the bill, at that time she asked how was everything I reminded her that last we seen her she took and order from us for a diet pepsi that never came and took the mushroom to show the kitchen but never returned, She said sorry kitchen has really not been on thier A-game sorry that they forgot to come out. I said no problem just the bill please and asked to please not be charged for the drink as we did not recive it..bill came we were still charged for the drink we didnt get. We asked for a correction on that and were given a $4 disscount as an apology but overall just a mess and nothing was done about the very unwashed ingredients, no replacement and no aknowledment of the contamination.

I always enjoy visiting Castle Johns. I usually sit at the bar. The food is really good and the menu is extensive. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I recommend CJs.

Ordered standard burger and fries. Burger was overcooked and very dry. Suspect it might be microwaved to make the precooked burger hot. Fries were a lower quality brand from restaurant supplier. Would suggest fresh cut fries. Very mediocre. You must cook a burger right or youll have lots of business go away.

All I am going to say is you have to try the Yorkies. Dont worry its not dogs...they are so good.

The Veggie Burgers are great & really filling ! They are very kind to my senior parents ,but if the waitresses see a person(s) with a walker please do not offer them a Booth seat ,this happened twice ,its too hard for my parent to get in & out of their seats with their walkers ...the place is great otherwise & my family loves the food & atmosphere Please keep up with the Vegan options as well ..theres always family going there w them for dinner .

Over cooked rock hard wings, no veggies or dip with it just the wings on a plate...(if you ask for the two sticks of veggies be prepared to pay $4.50 extra! Hardly any sauce on wings, just very odd. Need more flavours too Dont recommend anymore

The french onion soup was one of the best I tried. Both yorkies and mac & cheese were great too. I enjoyed the service as well.

Five us ate dinner here Sunday evening. The food was great quality, and the portions were great. We had the Lobster Poutine, Shepards Pie, Sante Fe Chicken, Chicken fingers, and Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich. We will be back. Everyone really enjoyed what they had.

We did eat here often.We had reservations for 4 and requested a window booth. Our guests brought their skinny little son so we were trying to see if we could all fit. The server back against the wall , rolled her eyes which my guest and I saw then walked away and left a gentleman to serve us. How rude. Then my guest was eating his onion ring and found an inch long piece of metal in a ring. We brought it to our servers attention to which he apologized. When I got to the car I called to speak to a manager. The manager was a young man with an Irish accent who had served us many times. Not the Manager.Thus this comment. This was at 11:30 am on Aug 22nd. The rude server was serving the patio.I will think twice before returning to one of my Favourite restaurants in Peterborough. Sheila Jervis

Atmosphere was a little lacking, its not overly welcoming. A little sparse on the decor. Kid-friendliness: High chairs yes, but I stood at our table for probably 10 minutes holding the baby waiting for a high chair

A great little spot for a home cooked meal. We were in town for a weekend event and went for thanksgiving dinner.

Have been to the Newcastle Castle Johns numerous times. Highly recommend! Went recently to the Peterborough one. Ordered fajitas but wanted the vegetarian ones (no chicken, steak or shrimp), also asked for no cheese or sour cream. Got it and the lettuce was brown on all the edges. Still got charged full price which I wasnt happy about. Asked for some hummus to go with my fajitas but they dont have it apparently. Waitress Heather J didnt bother asking me about other sauces or offering any other options. A good waiter/waitress would have offered some options. Will not return based on this.

Great bang for your buck

The New York Striploin is the best restaurant items Ive bought in Peterborough. Never buy well done steak. Medium Rare is AMAZING. The hero is the Peppercorn Sauce. Its a light gravy taste with a medium hint of saltiness & small hint of spice kick. Its super good. I absolutely love the peppercorn sauce with the steak. The mashed potatoes is mushy & great, consistent. The carrots with the peppercorn sauce is superb. Best brocolli Ive had at a restaurant. Friendly attentive service as well. Wonderful experience.

Really worn furniture. Menus needed to be wiped off. Wobbly chairs.

I usually love their wings and frings. My friend and I came in a Wednesday night (tonight) and ordered the above. My criend didnt get the wings she wanted and the frings were hard and cold and can tell they have been left out for awhile before being served. Not.in a hurry to go back. Totally disappointed.
