This is a great spot. I love the vegan options.

Update 2: based upon a few more visits, the staffing situation has improved! Update: There is a serious understaffing problem going on. The serving staff and bartender rush around like crazy trying to take care of everyone, but its just not possible. My wifes drink was completely forgotten and at one point our waitress was behind the bar helping out. I had to go over and get her attention to get our check. Not only did she have to bail out the bartender, but her tables were scattered all around the restaurant for some reason. To whoever the new owner is, please make sure your shifts are staffed properly. Original review: Great food, beer, atmosphere, and staff! Harlows is one of my two favorite restaurants in the area.

Went to visit family for lunch nice little spot good food

110 dollars for 2 people 2 pretzels, burger , chicken and one drink that tasted horrible. Didn t even drink half of it . there s nothing special about this place. Never going again !!!!Got sat down and had to wait 15 mins just to get water. Seats are very uncomfortable and way too close to each other . I had a lady behind me constantly bumping into me and hitting me with her hair. I had to ask who our actual waiter was. Owner is constantly pacing up and down the restaurant. They used way too much spinach as a filler in my wife s meal. Fancy fries are not fancy and very bland. JUST OUT RIGHT HORRIBLE !!!! PLEASE PLEASE DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY

Excellent food, drinks, service and atmosphere. My go-to spot in Peterborough

we eat here pretty frequently but the portions have gotten a bit skimpy for certain items, especially salads. A full sized salad from here is basically a side portion compared to other local places.

Fun local spot with delicious food, good beer on tap and good drinks! Friendly staff and excellent service.

Found this place by accident. Just driving by and stopped for lunch. Very cool little town and very friendly. Vegetarian options: Saw many items on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options were more than expected. Kid-friendliness: Surprised at how many little ones were there.

Back visiting Peterborough where I once lived, I met my old friend here for dinner. The menu has barely changed in 10 years. Maybe this is ok? We ate outside and I saw a friend I hadnt seen in years. Its that kind of place. And my daughter and her friends were there too (thats who I was visiting), so its a very friendly place. My daughters wonderful roommate Sean was our terrific waiter. He made it great. Its like family there. I watched runners and folks walking their dogs go by. I cant say my dinner was the best food Ive ever eaten, but the atmosphere is always comfortable.

The owner brings the whole experience together, what a cool space for a night cap!

We had a nice lunch at Harlows. We were greeted upon arrival and provided seating at the bar. Food and service were good. Nice place for a quick bite to eat or appetizers.

It s not what it used to be since they sold. The menu is sparse where it was once incredibly robust with multiple fusions. Sad to see an eclectic place lose its vibe.

Our go-to for a casual meal in town. Atmosphere is fun and quirky, food is always good and plentiful, but service has been consistently very slow (like almost an hour between when we sit down and when we get food). Wait staff didn t seem overwhelmed, so maybe they need to up the staff in the kitchen? In any case, we have and will return.

A great local staple. Went in for lunch and sat at the bar. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming. All the staff that I interacted with were very friendly. I had the Thai chicken wrap, with avocado and it was delicious and came out in a timely manner. If youre ever in downtown Peterborough I highly recommend you stop in and try it for yourself.

Because of the messy winter weather and being short staffed Katie had to handle about 10 tables and bar herself! SHE was great! Really good pub food and drinks!

Mediocre food at a high price, always warm beer yuck!!! Occasional fun night with music but you will be paying for it. This is basically what you get when a small town has a customer base of people who don t leave the town and don t know what good food is. If this place was in a bigger area it would go under so fast.

Okay if youre looking for a sort-of dive bar atmosphere. Burger, ordered medium, was practically raw inside. Service was the savior of this otherwise unremarkable lunch.

Ordered online, the order receipt from the kitchen was missing notes for excluding a vegetable no biggie. Also ordered a kombucha which was not with the food / on the slip with the order but was on the email receipt (so never received it). Overall food was average but probably wouldn t come back.

I really loved this place 5 years ago, and still do, but its changed.... Food takes way too long, even on a not so busy night. Drinks are great and they have a lot of local brewing diversity that makes it feel local. I love the vibe, the decor is eccentric and its always friendly. Wish they had french fries

Good pub style food and beer selection. The atmosphere is eclectic which includes the decor and staff. Nice outside seating area to watch whats going on in downtown Peterborough. A bowl of black bean soup with The Works makes a great meal. I ordered a veggie burrito most recently which was tasty as well.

The food was outstanding! Everyone there was very nice and courteous. Places like this are the reasons Im looking for a home in this area of New Hampshire.

What has happened to Harlows? I have been a patron for thirty years and the last three meals Ive had recently have been way below standard in quality and presentation. The plates speak of portion control, sandwiches are very spare, even the chips are meager. There has been an ownership change and seems it doesnt bode well.

It was ok tasted good wish they put more chicken on the salad the chicken was covered up with salad most places put the chicken on top so u can see it if Im in the area will try something different

Nice funky pub in Peterborough. Was glad to see it was still open. Three months ago it temporarily closed, so I was relieved it was open the other day. Interesting decor and friendly wait staff. I had a light lunch of a bowl of vegetarian chili and a root beer and loved it. Ive had their standard fare, and it has been great as well.

Very good nachos. Sandwich was loaded and tasted great.

Sunny Saturday 1:30pm, empty bar - bartender MIA and grouchy, complaining about having to be at work to coworkers, lunch order came out wrong after 35+ minutes. We ve tried three different times to like this place - off the list.

It doesnt get anymore more home town than the hanging at Harlows. A great place to chill and enjoy great food.

Been going to Harlow s for over a decade and sadly the pace of service has slowed to an unacceptable crawl in the past year. Latest lunch outing took over 2.5 hours because of how long it took for food to get to our table.

Closest thing to a real British pub, just great all round

Food was tasty and they have a good selection of craft beer. Service was friendly and prompt. The overall vibe is comfy and casual. Lots of eclectic posters and other memorabilia on the walls and ceiling.

Slow service!!!! Placed our orders and 30 minutes later we still had not received our order. It was nothing complicated; soup and salad with chicken. When I asked our waitress what was talking so long, she said I can t go downstairs . She had a boot in her foot and the kitchen was downstairs. Meanwhile the people sitting next to us arrived 10-15 minutes later than us, received their soup and salad within minutes. Again, I asked about our orders and was told some times things take longer depending what you order. We ordered pretty much the same thing that the people next to us had ordered. We decided to leave without ever receiving our orders. No attempts were made by the staff to rectify the situation. In fact, the waitresses became rude with us. Will not go back there.

Great spot, we were able to sit outside thanks to the unseasonal weather. My party of 3 had sandwiches. One person is on the keto diet and the other person has celiac disease. Meeting these requirements was no problem. The waiter was attentive and fast, but we never felt like we were being watched over or forced to hurry. The atmosphere was fun with interesting Halloween decorations among other interesting items. The food was great, I had a Ruben, and it was perfect. Thank you Harlows Pub for a great dining experience.

Not as great as we had hoped. Had heard great things about this place but service was ehh. Ordered a burger after my son in law ordered one. She asked him if lettuce, tomato and pickle were fine. She asked me about veggies too and I said all of them thinking the same options my son in law was offered. My burger arrived with a side salad ON it. It had lettuce, shredded carrots, green pepper, tomatoes, onion... It fell apart in my hands. The only side options were kettle chips or side salad. The place wasnt that busy but our server seemed flustered by a noisy table close by. She wasnt very attentive and we had to go find her twice for things. Not sure if well be back.

Weve been coming here for years and have always loved it! Food is consistent and theres usually something good on tap. The atmosphere is great and very unique. Definitely a must stop in Peterborough. Please bring back the kids menu!

Harlows is a mainstay of downtown Peterborough. Great, laid-back, pub atmosphere but with a slightly more enlightened offering. Pre-COVID they had a lot of great live music there. Theres a nice little stage area they use for seating when theres no musical guests. Ive come to Harlows many times over the last 15 years and Ive never been disappointed by their service, their food, or the atmosphere itself. Always leave feeling happy.

Staff was delightful, very friendly. The Strawberry kombucha was a surprise hit with our group, like a cider with Strawberry at the end. Meatball sub was tasty, goat cheese wrap was refreshing. Turkey club was devoured, so good! Good 0lace to come chill, get good food and beverages. Prices are very reasonable, too. You get 5* from our group...Thank You!

I can say that I wasnt all that impressed. I had read from an online blog that they did pretty good Bloody Marys... I was sadly disappointed. The Bloody Mary was bitter and was garnished with 3 Olives on a toothpick. I do not recommend it. On the other hand, The Blairwich sandwich was pretty good. The Blairwich sandwich was not what I was envisioning as I thought that the roast beef would have been somewhat rare but it was cooked well done. It was more like a Philly steak and cheese. I also had the barbecue chicken & bacon quesadilla to go; it was okay. Next time I go there (after 5 p.m.) I want to try the Diablo chicken pasta, as it sounds pretty darn good. The bartender was very good at answering questions that I had about the place and she was friendly. I also found another possible location to get a decent Bloody Mary.

A nice place to eat and spend time with friends. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The service was quick and kind. Overall a good experience, just not the above and beyond that would have netted it 5 stars. Parking: Not much parking. Mostly 2 hour street parking. Parallel parking.

A shell of its former pre-pandemic self, which was previously an easy 5 star rating. Weve been coming to Harlows for years. Was always worth a special trip to eat great food and then relax in beautiful downtown Peterborough after. We just revisited for the first time since the pandemic shutdown. First, our waitress was very friendly and attentive, as they always have been. However, the menu has been slashed down to pretty much just burgers and sandwiches. Harlows had a full restaurant menu previously, and the food was excellent. Now, the meatloaf? Gone. Steaks and Prime Rib? Gone. Spaghetti? Gone. Chicken parmesan? You guessed it, gone. Many other menu items were also cut. Harlows, once a great restaurant AND pub, is now just another place to get a burger and beer. Some of the items removed from the menu are so easy to make and turn a nice profit, and Harlows did a great job with them before. Now, it just isnt worth the trip. Hopefully management/ownership will reconsider and bring back their formerly great menu.

Our bartender, Trish, was absolutely AMAZING. She helped me figure out what draft I wanted and gave me small samples. We had the best burger and split the pretzel with the tomato cheddar soup. Great food and great atmosphere!

Quaint and Classy Restaurant which never showed by service or customer care that they were short handed. Sandwich Board with Vacancies. We took chances on different dishes all Home Runs! Monster Desserts! Parking: Parking looks terrible. Be prepared. You can tell the property manager and restaurant are well aware and have every inch figured out.

If you like a nice vibe with good people, this is most defiantly the place for you. Good food, good drinks, and good staff. I highly recommend asking for JR who is one of the best waiters there and will greet you with a smile every time you come in. My family and I are regulars and I will continue to go back. Kid-friendliness: On tap root beer for the kids . How can you beat that!

Two out of three lunches were practically inedible (two chicken nacho plates): stale chips and cheese was absolutely cold, making it impossible to break apart and enjoy. The 3rd lunch, a cheeseburger, was delicious.

This was my first trip back since the pandemic started. Was so great to be able to. The food and beverage was as good as ever. Our waitress Jane was an amazingly hard worker, friendly and efficient. We had a very pleasant time because of these great qualities. There was a wait for the food due to the times, but it didnt hamper our time out.

Wow, this was bad. Seated within 5 minutes, but it took 1.5 hours to produce a burger and a reuben. They dont even do french fries, just chips, so there is even less work to do. People were seated well before us were only getting their food after we had been there for roughly an hour. I do not understand how anyone would come back after having this kind of experience on a mildy busy Saturday.

This place is just great! Best veggie chili Ive ever had, Order it every time we visit. Also best espresso martinis in the state. Do yourself a favor and get both while youre there

Food was great, but took forever. We went around 3pm which we thought wouldnt be peak time, and the food took about an hour to come out. I understand restaurants can get busy, but my server also did not serve my drink for an hour. I reminded her of my drink and she still did not get it so I walked up to the bar where my drink was just sitting and waiting for more than half an hour.

Servers are amazing and always extremely polite. Theyre usually really busy and short staffed unfortunately but we make sure to be patient and honestly its always worth the wait every time! Their drinks are amazing and they have a really great wine selection! I also LOVE their BLTS. We used to come here a lot when they did live music!

Wife enjoys visiting Harlows. They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The veggie chili with works and the Avocado Bliss are her favorites. Pretzel and beer cheese are a good starter. I do enjoy the Turkey Thang and Thai Chicken Wrap. I sometimes find the grilled chicken sandwich to be a hit or miss. The chicken is occasionally overcooked so its chewy/rubbery. Service definitely depends on who you get. We sometimes wait for a server to take our order or check on us, and other times the server is prompt and stops by multiple times. Spouse likes it so much that I deal with service, but I can see why other reviews comment about service.

Great food fun atmosphere nice staff

This is a must go-to spot if you are spending time in the Monadnock area. One of the best beer selections around, excellent atmosphere, great staff. When I lived in town a few years ago we went almost every night. Its been a while since I lived in the area, and I was looking forward to catching up with old friends, and grabbing their Blair witch Sandwich. It was great! Enjoy your time there.

I hope they can expand their hours. Tough to get good help due to the pandemic. Food was very good. Although I think they had to cut back on the chicken in the nachos. It was tough to see pieces of chicken lots of veggies but little tiny pieces of chicken. The wait staff is fantastic.

Great atmosphere service was excellent

The restaurant was pretty busy, so my party of 7 had to be split between two tables that werent remotely close together. So it was like we didnt even go out to lunch together. The food was good, and the service was attentive. It did take a very long time to receive our sandwiches and soups, but its understandable since the staffing is limited due to the pandemic. I will definitely try again, but with a smaller party and maybe not on a weekend day.

Our first visit andnitbwas really good. I had the Thia Chicken salad, and happy with my choice. Well be back. Only draw back was our server came across a little grumpy but them it didnt matter, the company and food made up for it..
