Upscale casual at the entrance to the Cafe District. Cozy and warm in the winter, bright with two biggest patios in the town in summertime.
Went on a Saturday night and there were a few large parties in front of us. Service was pretty good. Our drinks came quickly and ordered the deep fried dough and cheese dip which was decent. My disappointment comes from the $20 fish and chips that came from a box.
We had the salmon here it was excellent the dessert bumble pie was also very good. It is obvious the staff care about the food and how it is served no complaints at all. We went on other people's comments and they were not wrong.
A quiet cozy atmosphere, good food and a lovely waitress
My family came here to celebrate my parents’ anniversary and we all had a great time! I talked on the phone with Ashley and Dan about setting up a nice table and they helped me out when I dropped off flowers and balloons early for the table. They were very accommodating and Dan was a great server. The food was delicious and the drinks were refreshing on a summer night. Thank you Dan and Ashley!!!
The Panko Crusted Meatloaf is Great. It's very filling, makes you full. The Panko crust is thin yet semi-hard so when you bite into the Meatloaf, you bite the Meatloaf first which is a mushy texture & then you reach the thin yet semi-hard Panko crust. Such a unique taste. Trying this for the first time is worth the experience. I love the name - Kettle Drums. I also love how many people go here. It's a good amount of customers enjoying it here. Love that.
Lunch at Kettle Drums was such a delightful experience, especially since we went during quieter hours. 🌟The ambiance, with its warm and spacious interior, was just lovely, and the staff was incredibly friendly, checking on us occasionally. I adored the attention to detail, like using graters as part of the ceiling decor – those little touches make a place unique! 🥘 Now, onto the food! While the menu didn't offer a wide variety, there were more items like steak after 3 pm. We indulged in some Sweet Potato Fries and Shrimp. The fries were presented beautifully – crunchy, flavorful, and a generous portion for one person. They were worth every penny! As for the shrimp, it didn't quite hit the mark in terms of both price and size, but it was still decent. 🍹 For drinks, I opted for the Raspberry concoction, which was pretty good; I'd order it again. My friend tried the Lavender, and although I didn't taste it myself, it looked and sounded delightful. A big shoutout to my friend Greatness for sharing your food and letting me snap some pictures! It made the whole experience even more enjoyable. 😁
Very nice dining experience. Nice ambient lighting that is warm yet bright enough for conversation. I loved the unique cheese grater lighting, 3 sided fire place and warm colour palette. The food was delicious with many options. We started with a bowl of the Soup of the Day and a basket of Sweet potato kettle chips. The chips were surprisingly light and crunchy served with a perfectly seasoned garlic and dill sauce for dipping For lunch I ordered the grilled cheese with a roasted beet salad as my side. The 5 year old cheddar, brie, shaved apple slices and red onion jam made a fantastic blend of sweet and salty. The roasted beet salad served with arugula, goat cheese and candied pecans popped the flavours of the grilled cheese for a perfect combo. My spouse had the prime rib sandwich with garden salad loaded with fresh veggies. The sandwich was stacked with prime rib to a daunting height. Enough to fill up the hungriest of customers. Over all I would definitely recommend and we will visit again to try some of the dinner entrées. Thank you Jessica for the great service and 🫶 shout out to the kitchen for the delicious meal. We will be back.
It was out first trip to Peterborough and it ended with a great dinner in Kettle Drums. We sat on a patio and it was a great choice. The appetizers came fast , the food tasted delicious. We ordered the angus steak and trout for the main dishes. Kids had a burger and pizza. Definitely will come back
Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options available Food
Really good Caesar wrap and salad, Server was friendly and did great
Great service. Huge plate of the meatloaf. I think I got the end pieces as was dry as all get out (either that or over microwaved?). Rest of meal - garlic mashed potatoes and veggies were delicious. Menu s are worn out and need replacing.
Great pub food spot. Washrooms were clean. Wings were good!
Nahh.... The food is not good. Pretty okay. The place is very nice, has potential, but it is dirty and lacks vibe. Service was good. Fast , attentive Food : 2/5
This place I feel has a lot of work to do. The lights in the womens washroom were broken. We were in the restaurant for at least an hour and a half for the entire meal. The food was less than desirable. The first time going there would never come back.
No music at all! They said sorry it doesn t work ?!?! Get it fixed ASAP!! There was a huge puddle of water in front of the Bar..no one could sit near the bar. But worse than that no one was cleaning it up!!! Three tables. Will not return. Sadly a friend recommended this to us. Now they won t return either
Overpriced mediocre food with slow service.
Went for a date night with my wife tonight. Everything was great fantastic spot for a dinner date waiter Dan was great to deal with would definitely recommend
Nice atmosphere Great service amasing food !!
Forty Creek chicken wings!
Stopped for lunch and I was not disappointed. Our server was friendly and the food was tasty with a reasonable selection of lunch specials.
The food was very greasy and the wings, were overcooked that the chicken was rubbery. To top it off the pizza had a hair in it.
Not a fabulous place. Ordered pizza and was fairly bland . Was suppose to have chicken on it and either got the wrong pizza or little to none on it. Service was ok, not super friendly nor did she check on us. Wouldnt probably go back. Other places around instead
The food is very good. Unfortunatley had to rate service poor as it took over n hour for food. Some computer glitch we were told. We will return
Great lunch
I went for my birthday! Chicken Alfredo was amazing!
Highly disappointed at my experience here. The food was ok, but the service was incredibly slow. Once seated it took quite a few mins to get our drinks ordered. Once we got our drinks it again took a while to get our food order placed. Then after what felt like forever our food finally came. The waitress at no point during the meal came back to top off our water. When we were finished our meal the waitress offered takeout boxes and then disappeared for 15 mins, and came back without the to go boxes. We originally had planned on ordering dessert as we were celebrating a birthday but the waitress didn t ask if we wanted anything else and we didn t feel like waiting another 30-45 for a brownie. She seemed to be the only server but the restaurant did not seem overly busy. There was a table who came in 45 mins after us and left a good 30 mins before us. Very long drawn out experience.
Nice cosy restaurant, server was pleasant. Food was a disappointment, Primavera was extremely oily. Fish batter was hard French fries were over cooked.
Didnt enjoy it as much as we usualy do. The service was not great, at 4:30 they were out of mashed potato and the salmon was a bit over cooked and I think the changed the sauce. We will go again it could have just been an off night.
Was brought here by Geetas instagram stories and was not disappointed in the slightest! Happy to have seen those posts. Will definitely be returning.
I had fish and chip and the fish batter was hard, the fries was already cold when it came out. Ill try somewhere else next time. But their appetizers was good, and appetizers portion was huge, 2 people couldnt finish it.
I ordered a beet root salad to be delivered to my work. Arrived with no goat cheese as described in menu and a very poor portion size for the price
Do it. Get the onion rings. Delicious!
Great Roast beef dip and my wife loves the gluten free pizza Dietary restrictions: Wife is gluten free Food : 5/5 |
My husband booked well ahead of time for an office luncheon post Christmas for 8 people. Took a lot of preparation and organizing to get everyone together for this date. Many had to reorganize their work schedule to attend. We picked up a message from someone from this restaurant at 6pm the evening before our 12pm reservation which was made a couple of weeks ago. The message said that they would not be open and that they were canceling our reservation! Left us a couple of hours to find an alternative restaurant that could accommodate 8 people last second. Restaurants are generally not open in the morning. Had to scramble last second to find a restaurant anywhere in Peterborough that would accommodate us. Not easy with a large group. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. We will never book again. Not reliable.
Super cute little spot. The food was delicious.
Apptisers were good. Fresh calamari and ceaser salad. Fries were hard and gross. Server was not personal. Made us feel she didnt want to be there. In stead of an after dinner mint. We were given a Costco chocolate.
Cauliflower bites are to die for!!!! Girl @ bar in leather pants was quick and efficient :) Food
We ve been to Kettle Drums on various occasions while visiting Peterborough but I m sad to say our last visit was disappointing. I appreciate that the pandemic has hit the service industry hard but it seemed like the usual quality of ingredients had been replaced by cost cutting cheaper ingredients-especially the Alaskan Cod. Was expecting a nicely battered and fried fillet of Alaskan cod and was served a minced fish variety of fish in batter. Customers like to rely on quality when dining out and cost cutting on ingredients helps no one long term. Server was great and worked her tail off-serving both bar & lounge alone.
I love the food here especially the calamari and the Mac and cheese the drinks are nice and yummy too
good food great staff
Excellent food with good gluten free options.
Not a fan.
Service was good and attentive and the place has some atmosphere. However the food was very disappointing a bruschetta that was overdressed and my entree Angus Strip Stake was tuff and overdressed with some terrible sources All in all the food was disappointing It has been several years since I have been and it will be several years till I go back
There was bacon on my vegetarian burger; which I didnt realize until I had already eaten half of it. I was violently ill afterwords. My cousin had treated us to the meal and I felt like it would be dramatic and rude to cause a scene but I was SO upset about this experience. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Ive been a vegetarian for over 20 years and was absolutely shocked that this still happens. I shouldnt have to inspect my food - when I order a vegetarian item, it should be treated with extra care.
Went in yesterday for a late lunch. I d never been to this restaurant before so I thought I try it. I m glad I did. The waitress was wonderful and the food was unbelievable. A must try.
Not my favorite place. Server was polite. However we waited close to an hour for our lunch which could be understandable IF...they were busy but the place was pretty empty. Food was mediocre. And things seemed shabby. Bench cushions are flaking apart. Bathroom was gross and my daughter and granddaughter almost fell on the way our because of stepping on pieces of the building that had broken off and landed on the walk way. I wont be back.
This was our first time at the Kettle Drums restaurant. We were two couples. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. Giving us time to look over the menu. Other than a miss communication over the number of orders, our meals came quickly. We had the Seafood Chowder and Beet Salad, which was excellent. The other couples meals were also very good. We all enjoyed our time at Kettle Drum, that is until we received the bills. $90 for Seafood Chowder, a salad and a glass of wine.(x2). Even though we all totally enjoyed our meals and the great service, I find it difficult to justify the cost. I dont know if well ever return because of the high prices.
A great little place. Both food and atmosphere were excellent.
The food was a bit over-cooked. But the service, ceasars, free kids pop refills, & beet salad were FANTASTIC!
Highly recommend this place! We ordered the Portobello pizza with truffle - delicious. The beet salad had a twist and was so flavourful! The staff was wonderful considering a packed Saturday night and only two ladies working both the bar and dining area. Well definitely return and explore the menu further!
Nice place to have something to eat.
What a great experience! The ambience was great. The food was delicious. The side salad with the Kettle drum burger was hearty. For dessert the crumble was just ok. I think there is room for improvement on the crumble itself. It tasted uncooked, inwould use more butter and brown sugar myself. Will definitely be back again
I had gotten the barbeque flavoured wings with fries. The food was really good and reasonably priced. My server was great, the only downside was that the food took a while to arrive when we were the only customers in the restaurant. Parking: A free parking lot was available outside the establishment though it is quite small
Massive bummer. Was there for an hour and a half, and all I ate were 3 bland breadsticks and a glass of rosé. The meals we ordered came about 50 minutes after ordering. My partners was ok. Mine was wrong: steak was well done, not medium, cold vegetables, cold plate. I sent it back and hoped I could order the chowder instead - no chowder available. I asked what could be prepared quickly and the server suggested cheese dip. It was pretty bland, and when youve been looking forward to a steak dinner a few flabby breadsticks doesnt quite cut it, yknow? Bummed because my partner and I rarely get a date night. Im going home to eat a bowl of cereal. Harumph.
Exceptionally attentive service without being a bother. A skilled server for sure!!!!
The server was friendly and polite. But the wait times to eat was way too long. We waited almost an hour or more. The kids were starving and frustrated. Nonetheless the food was great.
Ordered fish and chips which I ve had there for several years. Was sadly disappointed as they switched the cod for a cheaper, less tasty fish that was similar to frozen fish sticks and the meal portion was about half the size it was in the past. Very disappointed.
Great place to go for wings. The staff is super freindly and the food is great as well.
Quite simply beyond expectations. Service and food were outstanding. We were a group of 12 and all seemed delighted.
Good food. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. Awesome menu choices.
Was in Peterborough and looked up local restaurants and came across this gem. It sure didnt disappoint. I had the pasta Primavera with chicken, a strawberry lemonade mocktail and a cucumber ginger mocktail and everything was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back next time Im traveling through.
Great service!! No complaints
The waitress told us that we have to wait 30 minutes as we had not done reservation. But so many tables were free. Then she said we could sit at the bar. And we did. When we ordered northern lite IPA beer, they were out of it and this was at 7:00pm when it is the prime time for customers. The tables they offered were left empty. Finally they asked us to move to the table. Suddenly the behavior of the waitress became very polite. We ordered wood fired portobello mushroom and it was really good. The ravioli presentation was excellent. I did not try it but those in my group who tried really liked it. It looks like a family owned restaurant and hopefully we will not have this kind of experience where they dont welcome outsiders not residing in Peterborough. Vegetarian options: The food was good.
This place was awesome sauce the server that we had was amazing the cheese graters are a bold artistic design which emphasizes the awesome sauce that is dripping everywhere. I would recommend this restaurant to people who like cheese graters and good food and good servers. Our server we had was really really good. Please give him a raise as he is good. Daniel need to be promoted immediately best sever Vegetarian options: I m not vegan but Luke my friend Luke over here is. Dietary restrictions: I m not diet Parking: Yeah good could you at bike rack s please Kid-friendliness: They like kids Wheelchair accessibility: I m not disabled
Came here for lunch and I had the fish and chips and the gf had hot beef dip. Both were pretty tasty and the food came quick. I would come here again.
My husband and I went here for lunch on Tuesday. My husband ordered the Tuesday Chicken Wings for $10. The flavor was honey sriracha but he couldnt taste the sriracha so he got some Franks Hot. I ordered the chicken alfredo and it was a bit too saucy but delicious, especially with the lightly toasted bread on the side. Id definitely recommend Kettle Drums.
I made a reservation for a group of just 4 for lunch for 1pm on a weekday. When we arrived there was only one other table with 4 people at it. The only waitress/bartender in the restaurant took our drink order and then didnt come back to take our food order for over half an our after serving drinks. By that time most of the other tables were occupied and it took another half hour to get our food. I thought it would be a nice place to go after my sons University graduation, but I was not impressed. The menu is basically pub food at fine dining prices. We did have a couple of alcoholic drinks each, and 3 orders of sandwiches and 1 fish & chips (which was like Ikea food) and the bill came to almost $200. I definitely wont be back!
Went for a special occasion and the food, atmosphere and service were amazing!! I will say... you MUST try their homemade iced tea! And watch out for that dessert menu... itll hook ya for sure!! Hope you enjoy as much as we did!!! Dietary restrictions: They make sure right away if anyone has any dietary restrictions and/or allergies!!! Asked on the way to the table!!! You guys are awesome
Had a large group out on the patio. The service was examplory (its hard to do large groups). The food was tasty, well prepared, and quick.
Went on a Saturday evening and there was only one other party inside and a couple parties on their outside patio. I thought it would ve been a lot busier considering the great experience we had. We started off with the Kettle Cheese Dip. Amazing! The bread was almost better then the dip! I have their burger which was good but the portion of the cheese dip filled me up to finish the rest of my meal. Service was great!
We were on our way back time and decided to end off the weekend by a stop for lunch at Kettle Drums, the decor and the atmosphere was nice, the food was good but my girlfriend has a gluten allergy and we specifically told the server about her allergies and she is celiac. The server assured us the kettle chips were gluten free. We even asked if they had dedicated fryers to which they said no but guaranteed gluten free. Really disappointed with the service. If you are gluten free or Celiac free steer clear or eat at your own risk. The server, seemed very distracted and was not paying attention to our request.
Great food. My wife got the Seafood Chowder to start. She said it was the best shes had in a long time. Fries were great and the draft beer was great too.
Great service and good food. Nice place to eat if you are looking for a terrace.
Slow service. Got our order wrong. Not impressed.
First time here was a good experience. The service was fast, and friendly prices are fair Beer was cold, and you got your money worth Would definitely go back Food : 5/5
This is a great place to eat. It is unique in its ambiance!
I have been meeting friends at this restaurant for lunch and dinner for a few years now. I have yet to have a meal or service that is less than good. Most of my experiences here have been impressive, at least. I always know that it will be an excellent choice for friends who have not eaten here. The selection allows for options to please anyone.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, easy parking. However, service was Extremely slow. One waitress, one cook serving about 30 ppl. As my husband is diabetic and his monitor indicated his sugars were dropping, it was a long time to wait ( more than 35 min). Hope they get more staff soon. Great food. Dietary restrictions: They serve Gluten free.
We went for dinner and had an outstanding meal. The chefs soup was unique and exceptional when we went. Nice setting (loved the cheese graters) and the service was great. The restaurant somehow makes some of the best sauces you will ever try - not like one or two that they got lucky with but all of them. Strongly recommend.
Wheelchair accessibility: No step at entrance and wheelchair accessible washroom is available - I think front door is wide enough for most buggies and wheelchairs - not sure about larger Permobil style chairs Food
Good was pretty good except the fries seemed to be either re deep fried or way to over done. Not very good. The whipped cheese cake was delicious. Seevice was great until the end. After we were done it took the server a little bit to come ans ask if we wanted take out. But never did ask if we wantes dessert. We had to ask. And the bathroom, they next an alternate heat source for the days they have the fireplace on and the furnace doesnt kick in. The bathroom was about 16 degrees....brrrrr
Great food! Lots of gluten free options
Food is scrumptious! Great independent restaurant. Must try if you havent.
Perfect place to take my date on Valentines Day. Food was good, service was good, atmosphere was good.
cheese dip is amazing sadly they keep the place freezing...bring a coat
I dined here at Kettle Drums on ValentinesDay night for dinner.I must say that their salmon Is the best I have eaten in all of Peterborough. its not Atlantic salmon but is Wild-caught Sockeye, which I really appreciate a restaurant serving and the prices are not over-the-top here.
Intimate, friendly. Not some crazy fancy place that makes you feel like youve got to dress up, and also not some place thats a hole in the wall. Solid menu and great service. If youre looking for a nice night out with friends, casual dinner date. This place is for you. Also they have cheese graters for light bulb covers, which is hilarious
Great environment, great food. Excellent for weekend get togethers.
April 4, 2022 Sam was our server - she did an outstanding job. Best ever Sangria s - Cheers. Dinners were Salmon and Pork Tenderloin. Meals and appetizers were TOP Shelf.
The service is excellent, very friendly but not over the top constantly on top of you. The food is good but a little pricey for what it is
I was expecting delicious food, and was sadly disappointed. The calamari was disgusting, it was like chewing on a rubber tire covered in batter, definitely not worth 18 dollars. The cheese dip was a ramekin stuffed to the top with plain cream cheese topped with melted cheese. Do not recommend. However the wine was very good and the staff was very nice.
Delicious!!!!!. Grilled cheese with cheese and apples.
Went for Mother s Day lunch. We were sat beside the open door in an empty restaurant. Asked if it was possible to have the door closed or to move as it was cold sitting there. From there it became VERY obvious that some of the staff were upset with us. Very unprofessional!! Don t order the kettle fries, cold and soggy. We sent them back but they weren t removed from the bill. Won t be back.
Excellent service, but extremely expensive
Friendly staff great menu and the outside seating what is enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Great restaurant, patio and bar area! Waitress was super even while working alone on a busy lunch rush! Food amazing - spicy chicken sandwich and beet salad. Drinks a little pricey but food and service made up for it.
Wonderful lunch Ravioli was excellent as well as the chicken Caesar salad..Jessica lots of smiles excellent waitress
Excellent!!! Our server was lovely, super outgoing and friendly. Attentive but not too much! Food was delicious. Highly recommend.
Good atmosphere, loved sitting on the patio by the river. Food was good.
Really nice restaurant with a lovely back patio. Food was fresh and service was fast and friendly. One of our favs.
Not bad, food was awesome, friendly servers just pricey for what it s worth
Thoroughly impressed with my meal. Maple Whiskey pork medallions. Cooked perfectly, typically bacon wrapped anything comes with soggy bacon, but this was perfectly cooked, and pork was still juicy. Smashed Garlic potatos were delicious, only complaint was there was too much, would have preferred a little more vegg, but cant fault an over serving. Sauce was a little sweet, but that is just my savoury tongue talking. Well done
Great!
Went yesterday had great service. Right from the greater to the waitresses. Special thanks to Cam, who is a great, friendly and attentive waitress. The food was good too, as usual, but good service makes it even more enjoyable.
Stunning patio, delicious food, one of my go to restaurants. I love their Sandwiches, pizza, and Mac and cheese. Their beet salad is the best in town. Their cheesecake is also the best in town. Their prices are reasonable, especially for the quality of food you get. Vegetarian options: Great picks for vegetarians! Vegans may have a harder time.
Fabulous burger!
The waitress was very nice and made us feel very comfortable, the food was to die for and at good prices, I would recommend eating outside!
Great food and great service. Staff very friendly and attentive.
I like it here because their patio is set up amongst some trees and some water. Yes its right near a carwash but still better than a patio on the street. The menu has a variety of options and if outside is not for you they have AC inside. Its wheelchair accessible too. Enjoy!
Best bruschetta ever! Our waitress Dawn was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Great food.
The meat loaf is fantastic and service. Today I had the burger and it was excellent and the service was first class
Very nice environment... Food was good.. Portions were good... Liked the place enough not to worry about the money which is my barometer of a good restaurant!
Love the service, Jess is amazing, and great soup
Great food with lots of gluten free options which was great to see! Gluten free pizza & mocktails are great.
The food has always been decent. We have had many great experiences with this spot. However...the server at lunch today was very rough around the edges. Every question was met some snarky reply. A group of gentlemen came in not long after me and my wife. They were very polite and respectful in nature. They were placing their order and were met with the same attitude and irritated responses. After she took their order we all laughed at how tense it was and I wished them good luck. I think Ill be finding somewhere else as a main go to if she is going to be the regular server here during lunch time.
Very dark inside. Food was adequate but not great.
Service was great and food was awesome. We especially enjoyed the pizzas, very European style.
The food is amazing. Never disappointed. You gotta try the pizza if youre a pizza lover. Their own freshly made dough made nice and thin. If you are a mushroom garlic lover try the portobello mushroom! Ohhh. And bacon too!! UPDATE Have gone back a few times this summer. Disappointed both times. 1st time we got fish and chips, which weve had before and they were excellent. Not this time! They were fish sticks, like the ones you get frozen at the grocery store and then heat them up. We went back the second time because this was always our go to place the many times we visit PTBO and wanted to give it another try. We got the calamari, which weve had before and loved it. After waiting over 40 minutes for this appetizer it was explained to us that it was over cooked a couple of times. We finally got it, was disappointed as it wasnt the same as before. Very thickly cut and chewy. I realize it wasnt the fault of the server, however, it would have been nice to have heard from her before the 40 minutes had gone by to at least replenish our drinks. Then we got our fave pizza, just not the same, and much pricier than before! Hopefully if we try again our experience will improve.
Great food, excellent service, warm atmosphere what more could you ask for. Been back twice in the last month. Parking: Free on-site.
Never had any food there but had drinks and great conversations with owner and bartender.
Food was great but slow. We were there for several hours.
Okay the food was great but it was freezing in there! Most people in the dining room hat coats AND hats on! Any calories I ate I immediately burned off with shivering. Since I received a response explaining that the heating was broken down, I am updating my review and we ll give it another chance before summer
Service was ok. Did not enjoy my meal, when I order fish and chips I dont want fish sticks.
Great food. Patio /deck was comfortable. One of our favourite places to eat when in Peterborough.
Good food, excellent Patio space. Excellent service.
The last 2 times my husband and I went to the kettle drums, we were both up during the nite with awful stomach cramping and pains. The first time we just thought it was a fluke, then we went again last night and were up again all nite in pain. The food tastes good , but not worth the horrid cramping and pain afterwards. Im not sure whats in the food, but Im staying away now.
This was my first visit, and I ordered a Lavender Vodka Lemonade, which was refreshingly delicious. My entree was the Kettle Club with a Caesar Salad for an extra fee. Sandwich itself, was tasty. Allison was an amazing hostess, and ensured my guest and I were accommodated during our lunch. Thank you Allison for the lovely service and experience.
The food is amazing and the service is too
The best Ceasar salad ive ever had!!!!
It was our first visit, Hubby and I were looking for a new place to go to other than our usual few favourite restaurants, we dont usually eat in the downtown core, but this restaurant looked the best by their online menu (Im soo picky!) and other reviews on here. Were not disappointed! I ordered a beef sandwich and Hubby ordered a wrap, both were very decently sized - I took 1/2 my sandwich and 1/2 my poutine home with me. I got an Empress gin to drink and it was as delicious as it is beautiful. The inside was nice and clean, very modern and interesting (cheese graters were their light fixtures, it worked!) Outside patio is very nice, its also in a nice location so you dont get ruckus around you, just people walking about their day. Great service. Would definitely recommend.
I loved it!! The flavor was delicious!!
Went in looking to receive a delicious meal, but instead received a dish of disappointment. This was the first and probably the last time that my mom and I will be eating here :/ My mom checked out the online menu before we went in to place an ordered and had planned that we were going to order from their special 1 pound of wings and a pizza, just to be told that the host never hard of the bundle before. After asking our questions to the host and watching her walk back and forth to the kitchen trying to figure out the answers, we decided just to place the order anyways to save her the hassle. After spending almost doubled then what we were prepared for because of checking out the online menu before hand, we finally got our food to take home. Luckily the wings were really hot, I just wish the pizza was just as hot. Once we opened the box that held the 1 pound of wings, we were even more disappointed because it did NOT look like a pound. The pizza was nice, though felt that the sauce that was put with the wings was meant more for the pizza. We felt very ripped off and dissatisfied.
Great Food and Greater service. One of the best continental cuisine that we have come across. Outstandingly delicious food. Don t miss the Fish n chips, Pizzas and Pasta. The ever-smiling high energy server Cavell is not only remarkable but has a super-positive aura around her. KD definitely has the best service staff. Very satisfied!
Took awhile to be served. Food was good once we got it.
Awesome place!!
Absolutely stunning place with an excellent ambience and delicious food. The service and hospitality is very good. Well managed location.
Good food and a place to park at reasonable prices.
Had lunch with my family here at Kettle Drums, food was okay but not that great. We did not enjoy the fries that came with our sandwiches, it was over cooked and not crispy, we did not bother to ask for a new one. The patio was nice and clean, not crowded, we were seated right away but it took a long time for our food to come, I was looking around and there were only eight people including my family, if it was busy and the place was full then I understand for the long wait but it was just us and other people were already eating. It took 40 minutes before we got our food. Also we did not get our water refilled.
The service was excellent!! The food was amazing! I will definitely be returning and recommending!
I had an allergic or inflammatory reaction to a garden salad free of cheese, and a simple dressing. Not sure what preservative was added.
It is absolutely ridiculous that on a Saturday afternoon of a long weekend that this place only has two wait staff working. No hostess nor a bar tender. Poor gals are run off their feet.
I really enjoyed our lunch at Kettle Drums.I had the lavender lemonade, sweet potato chips ( a must share item because it is a huge plateful) and the gourmet grilled cheese with house salad. The atmosphere on the patio was quiet and relaxing.. We were seated quickly by smiling friendly staff and though the entrées were slow to come they were worth the wait. We did not feel rushed to leave and spent quite awhile visiting our friends from Peterborough. If you are in the city you must try this fine eatery.
Stopped for dinner on our way through from Quebec City. As foodies, we were very pleasantly surprised that all the dishes we ordered were quite flavourful and we could tell that the person who created the dishes really loved good food. The stand out dish was the beet salad; a humble dish that was elevated with a few changes to the normal chevre and pecans. The pizza, buffalo chicken and mushroom ravioli were all yummy. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.
Good food, great service.
Sat outside on the patio. Food was perfect as ordered and staff was friendly. Highly recommended.
Had the beet salad and the Mac and cheese, both were incredibly tasty. Waitress was friendly and attentive.
Finally went out for dinner and picked Kettle Drums! Perfect storm. Ordered a bottle of red and they ran out of wine glasses, had a choice between a short glass or a brandy snifter. Beet salad came without the candied pecans. Salad came at the same time as the main course (because it took so long to get the salad to start with), even though we asked for the salad first to start so by the time we had the main course, they were not warm anymore. It s too bad, they used to be so good. Sad that it was such a disappointment. Staff were nice, however. So for that, thank you.
Had 4 menu items and they were all fantastic! Outside deck is quite nice too, since our fearless leader is afraid of us eating inside!
Such a great restaurant in Peterborough! Our server was so sweet and the food was amazing. You have to try the Portobello pizza - sooo yummy!
Delicious lunch with kind service!
We were a party of 9 tonight. 10/14/21 Being in the service business I understand it is difficult for servers and restaurant owners. I am courteous and tip generously. My friend and I both ordered the Mac & Cheeze. It was not good at all. Both of us said it was terrible. I left mine after a few bites. When our dissatisfaction was brought to the attention of our server we were told Everybody else likes it. Its the house favorite Well everyone else wasnt served what we were! There was no panko crust or baked. I was not treated like a valued customer so I just wont come back then. You take our names and number. You can call me.
We enjoyed the food, staff was pleasant and all covid safety requirements were in place. Definitely recommended.
What an incredible experience last night at Kettle Drum. The food was awesome, the cheesecake to die for and the exceptional service we got from Cavell was over the top! Her bubbly personality was infectious and helped us enjoy the evening. We will be back.
I had a great time eating delicious food at your restaurant. I think Kettle Drums must be the one and only restaurant in Peterborough with such a wide patio, furnished in excellent modern style designs.I was so amazed on the service because of their friendly and kind behavior to me. Most importantly, every foods and drinks in your menu i have tasted were really really delicious and great. Anyway thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful and mind blowing experience from your restaurant
After eating in and getting take out... This place never disappoints! My wife and I have tried a wide variety of menu items... All excellent!
Great spot, good food. Cozy.
Service was short and straightforward - no big deal - but the food was super disappointing. We ordered the salmon dinner and it was $27 of way overcooked salmon and a lot of potatoes with some steamed veg. The apple & Brie sandwich was also a bit sad. Seems like lots of folks love this spot but it s not for us! This is the second time I ve tried takeout from here. Maybe eat-in is the way to go?
Kettledrums has great food and lovely decor/ambiance
Great atmosphere! Even better food.
My mom and I, from separate households, both threw up after dinner there last night (for her 70th birthday) and I called to let the restaurant know their calamari might be off..the manager suggested we may have had too much wine and then said I dont know what to say ... not sure Ill be bringing anyone back there any time soon.
