During a quiet saturday evening, invited inside by the friendly staff for a sample taste...ended up sharing the large bowl that costs around a tenner, with katsu and sweet chili chicken with curry sauce and steamed rice...perfect combo.

Great katsu curry and staff is wonderful

Im sorry to say but this sushi was as bad as supermarket sushi, not to takeout standards at all, the rice was gooey and flavourless a real waste of money. Dietary restrictions: none of the hot food was gluten free and the sushi was crap, absolutely waste of money, very disappointing.

Loved the spicy chicken and noodles

We ve had lunch on Saturday and it was not busy. We were able to sit by the window and watch world go by whilst eating our tasty meals. I ve really enjoyed Teriyaki salmon with noddles. It was tasty , juicy and together with noddles, the medium size bowl was very filling. My companion had sweet chilli chicken, which I was told was also very nice. The staff was very attentive and the place was clean and welcoming. Two bowls of food with two cans of drinks cost us £21, which I thought was OK for an enjoyable decent lunch for two. I will go back.

I go to every Kokoro religiously when I travel as its one of my favourite place to go to get my favourite meal. This is the first place EVER where the portion is smaller then every other Kokoro that I have been to. I would get a medium size everywhere else and I will be full, here I got the medium and was not full so I gave this place another chance and got a large and I still wasnt full. So I wont be returning. The service here is speedy. The atmosphere was simple and very clean.

Everytime I get food from here its great and taste really good but today I got salmon nigiri and they tasted funny and smells like the salmon has gone bad

Really not the restaurants fault, weve placed many orders and the foods great. The deliver provider - Deliveroo, are sh1t. You will receive no more orders from us because of the delivery service. Constantly let down. The more restaurants get complaints the less likely they are to use this circus of clowns.

I absolutely love ordering from here, they do the best Katsu Curry, my girlfriend loves the Salmon Teriyaki. When eating in the staff are always helpful and friendly. Both when eating in and when ordering if there is an issue theyre always very quick to resolve it. Kokoro Peterborough is absolutely great.

I cant give this place 5 stars since the food is pretty much average. There arent many good option for Japanese food in Peterborough and this place is better than supermarket sushi but you can find other comparable options from other Asian chains in town. The food is not healthy at all so if you thought it looked like a nice healthy meal then blame the marketting.

Gosh! Kokoro has finally launched in Peterborough. I ate at this place in London long time ago. It snt Japanese food ( I read someone wrote it is Japanese food before my review ). It is more like Korean food: slightly fusion food with Asian hints. Their Bulgogi is my favourite and chilli chicken ( I dont remember full name) is my husbands favourite. Definitely I will try again. So pleased.

The sushi sets are nice here, and I d say probably the best take away sushi we have in Peterborough. I also had the beef rice bulgogi. It wasn t a traditional beef bulgogi which is fine, but sadly it was very very salty. There is plenty of choice and I ve yet to try other items!

Ordered a chicken Katsu Udon, the food was pretty good, the staff were pretty chill, Portion sizes seemed good for what was payed for, had a laugh with the staff since was the first time he made the dish I asked for, only slight complaint is that I wish that there was a different bowl if I was going to eat inside. but was a great experience nonetheless!

Owner has no care for food safety and will routinely eat while cooking, cook without washing hands. Scratch off dates on expired fish and slap a new date on it, store raw meat above vegetables in the fridges, and try to sell gone off produce. The only reason no one has gotten sick yet is because of the incredibly diligent staff (that are being messed about with their pay currently) FYI if youre vegetarian, the owner regularly cooks vegetarian options in meat fryers, and meat in the vegetarian fryer so nothing can be guaranteed. -An employee. Vegetarian options: Nothing is guaranteed vegetarian as the owner will happily cook vegetarian products in the meat fryer, and meat in the vegetarian one. When confronted he said it was fine and the customer wouldnt know the difference.

Ive ordered from Kokoro about 6 times since stumbling across it on Deliveroo. The katsu chicken curry is absolutely incredible. The flavour and quantity is amazing. Its the best katsu curry Ive had since moving to the UK. The sweet chili chicken is also amazing. I highly recommend the Dorayaki and cheesecake, as they are so delicious. My partner also loved the sushi. The meal deals are fantastic. I highly recommend Kokoro if youre looking for great food that will fill you up.

The food was really nice - hot and tasted fresh (I got the chicken Katsu and sweet chilli chicken). However it is a bit pricy for me it was about £9 (?) for two sides and a base of rice or noodles. Having said that, the serving size was generous and it was a nice armosphere to sit and eat in

The food tasted amazing, and the shop looked fresh and clean. Due to the size of the shop their is no real atmosphere or buzz around the place but if you are a noodle fan Id definitely give it ago.

Was going to stop for lunch but wasnt sure if my mother in law would enjoy it, but the staff was so lovely and the food looked amazing, ended up going back to pick some sushi up for dinner and the staff remembered us and again, still so lovely. We dont have a lot of decent sushi places near here, and honestly both me and my husband thought it was the best sushi we have had in a long time. Great prices for the food too, you could easily pay more in a supermarket for something subpar. Highly recommended Kokoro!

Had a lovely lunch with my partner and baby in tow at the new place in Peterborough centre Kokoro. Went in and had a lovely welcome by I think the lady owner. She explained the food to us and we even got to have a try before we decided what to have. We ended up having the same as each other and my three month old baby boy couldnt stop staring at the food!!! Can highly recommend both for the food and the atmosphere and service. Clean and tidy. Chefs kiss Kid-friendliness: Had our three month son with us and made to feel very welcome by the staff there. No issues at all. Also saw teenagers in there and again no issues.

Amazing food!

So in a nutshell it s an improved version of chopsticks restaurant. Food was really good, tasty, hot and very well seasoned. I could tell it s freshly made. I did get noodles even though I have ordered rice but I didn t ask them to change it as the food would just end up in a bin and I m not about to waste food ahah. We ve paid £22 ish for two large boxes and two drinks. It might look pricey, however, they pack the boxes to the very top and for us it was lunch and dinner. Staff were very friendly. You can tell that the restaurant is fairly new as some staff looked a little lost but big smiles and apologies made it all good. I did not try sushi, however, the choice and options looked pretty good. It is a little pricey but that s what you would expect when ordering sushi haha. It s not the place to go and sit down at, as they don t have many seats and the place gets very crowded so you might want to have it as take away. Overall, good experience and tasty food.

Had high hopes everything looks really good & fresh. I tried the hot food a few weeks ago, noodles with katsu chicken & hot & spicy chicken. The chicken was gristly, stringy & chewy & the noodles were mushy & didnt have any taste. Today I took a sushi box because I love sushi & the boxes do look very well presented. I took the deluxe sushi set, it was soooo bland & tasteless, super disappointed. Tasted like the sort of sushi youd buy at a supermarket. For £9.95 a box I had good expectations. The fish was literally tasteless, I could taste the avacado more than the fish & tbh didnt taste very fresh either. Im surprised by all the raving reviews. Too expensive for bad tasting food. Shame as I had high hopes.

I went for the chicken katsu curry which was alright, the chicken was over cooked though which made it a little tough. The sauce and rice was really nice though. They guy behind the counter gave us a little sample whilst we were eating. The portion sizes are good but I would still say it s slightly over priced. Oh and they were pretty stingy with the sauce.

Got delivery and got something from the shop in cathedral square today, normally have no problems but got back home ate with my partner and we felt sick after and bad stomachs the tuna nigiri looked pale in colour and didn t look the same as always so I m assuming it was bad either they brought it bad or they left it overtime which causes more bacteria that the human body can t handle as it s raw, probably won t get again unfortunately as I ve always had good food from there but now it s not for me

I give real reviews, with pictures of the food without any filters or prep. Unfortunately Kokoro has let me down for the 2nd time. Ive had the same experience two times in a row. I hope the owners read this to improve their business. The first time only 1 out of 3 of the meals I ordered were fresh. I learned from this experience and today I asked them politely if they could make all my meals fresh. They refused to make the sweet chilli chicken fresh as they had just made one 30 minutes ago they claimed. They did however make the sweet sour chicken fresh for me. However, when I went home and tasted the fresh one, it wasnt cooked properly and the sauce was grainy and the chicken was mushy. The sweet chilli chicken which wasnt cooked fresh however it was cooked to a nice quality, even though I could taste that it was definitely older than 30 minutes. More bad news; they forgot to heat the noodles in the microwave, the noodles were stone cold and the chicken was luke warm. Any person can taste the difference between old food Vs a freshly made meal. If you enjoy not fresh food for restaurant prices then youll love this place. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the flavouring of the sauces is good, if only they cooked fresh food like the 1 out of 3 first meals I had from here, it would be an outstanding 5 stars and the place would be very busy. If you have a reputation for fresh reliable food, you will get a constant stream of happy customers. Service is fine but a little clumsy, forgot to microwave the noodles. I dont think they understood that I was prepared to pay more for fresh food. If I ever go back, I will try to explain this point again. The atmosphere is good, when its not busy its possible to sit in and eat there.

I wanted to try out the food here for a while and I was really pleased I did!! I ordered it from deliveroo and arrived in just under 30 minutes. I ordered a mix and match (beef bulgogi + chicken teriyaki + rice). It tasted amazing!! One of the best takeaways Ive had!! It was full of flavour. It didnt have any chilli so I would definitely 100% recommend this combination if you are not great with chilli. I was worried that the mix and match pot would be too small, so I also ordered the salmon nigiri and a custard dorayaki. But to be honest, the size of the pot was much much bigger than I imagined. Its really great value for money!! So I had about half leftover in the pot and was quite full (but I had to finish it off because it was way too yummy). Cant wait to order from here again!!

Every single time Ive ordered from here it has been amazing. Great quality food (the kimchi is honestly the best Ive had in the UK). Quick service, friendly & helpful staff when in store. Plus I got an adorable message on my bag. Vegetarian options: Decent vegetarian options. I only get the sushi but the hot options are quite varied and look great. When I went innthey even let me go through the allerge book sk I knew what I was ordering.

The food is amazing. I ordered a large chicken katsu curry and I was so full I couldnt quite finish it, and this is for dinner. The staff are lovely and they have a good range of food. I definitely want to come again. I have mobility issues and as it is in the square its accessible by wheelchair. Both doors open so can be any sized wheelchair. My relative had the cold sushi love set and cold green tea. The tea is such a lovely finish to the meal. You can take away or eat in. We ate in and it was nice to sit at the window and eat. Wheelchair accessibility: The doors are easy to access with a wheelchair.
