Havent had a meal here is years......boy what a mistake. Food was first class service was great chef a genius. Will be back ASAP. Set meal is only £31 what a bargain.

Amazing food, piping hot and plenty of it, good value for top class food and staff very friendly and efficient.

Jordan and the team looked after us really well. Food, service and hygiene was all excellent. Would definitely recommend.

If you have not been before, go try for yourself, just to experience how good the food is Parking: On sure; limited. Off road & outside the property/within 75 mtrs; expect to find a place too park. Wheelchair accessibility: A bit on the slightly difficult side (a really old building), but not impossible to deal with.

A lovely meal beautifully presented and very good service by the young staff on a busy night. Our service was prompt and the entire meal served with appropriate time between courses. Thank you. We return again and again. A small entrance seating area for drinks while waiting to go into the restaurant. Drinks can be a tad pricey. By the bottle a good selection good price range. Tables set with damask tablecloths and napkins and silver cutlery. China abounds. A delight. Lovely log fires in the winter. The food is both hot, well cooked and presented and a taste delight on the tongue. So lovely to have ones own dish of vegetables as extra and not have to pay extra. At last a sensible restaurant manager. I cant praise the food quality enough.

visited with elderly vegetarian family members, I mentioned this to Andrew when I booked and he offered other alternatives than whats on the usual Sunday menu. They both agreed it was the finest veggie option they had ever eaten at a restaurant.

Food excellent could rave about it all-day , plus a very good wine list

Went here for an evening meal Service was odd and ranged from inattentive to just poor Ordered the chateaubriand, plates arrived dirty and had to be returned, the meat was meant to be medium rare but arrived well done in the centre and worse at the ends. This was fed back to the waiting staff but nothing done about it. The waiter tried to serve the vegetables at the table and just struggled.

What can I say? Been quite a few times, great every time, dont know if there is a new chef, but this meal was exceptional. Highly recommended.

This place is special! Its a quiet little thatched cottage just off the seemingly quiet main road. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the servers are extremely attentive. Oh the chef, he definitely knows his kitchen. His food is absolutely fantastic. Its the 1st time the 3 of us have been. We each ordered a different dish for each of our 3 courses, and its was worth every penny and will most certainly be going back again very soon. Dietary restrictions: The food is cooked fresh to requests for the most part, so if you need to make a request, I can see it being an issue Parking: Parking on the front and back carpark is available Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps at the entrances

Absolutely first class service, attentive waiting team nothing was to much trouble for them, it was our first visit but was made to feel like a long lost family member. The food was out of this world, it was a surprise to visit for my 50th birthday but oh my goodness the team have this absolute perfect. Kid-friendliness: My 9 year old son is a bit of a chatter box but they made him feel so so welcome and answered his questions with detail he could understand.

Without a doubt my favourite restaurant in Peterborough! I love the fact that the menu changes regularly and every dish is absolutely delicious. Full of flavour, indulgent, cooked well and made with top quality ingredients. The staff are always friendly and service is quick and I just love the cosiness of the restaurant! Just had a belated Xmas gathering that was postponed due to a party member being ill. It Was worth the wait, the food and service was exceptional. Highly recommended for a top quality dining experience.

The last time we visited was for our wedding in July 2021! It was great then, and it was great on Thursday night for my Dads 81st birthday. Wasnt cheap but was worth every penny! They accommodated our gluten-free requirements, and the service was impeccable. The owner (also chef) didnt see us leave, so he ran out of the restaurant to put his hand up to say thanks/bye. 5/5. Will be back and wont be leaving it as long this time!

Came for birthday meal. Arrived early and had drinks outside in the sunshine. Staff were welcoming and very friendly. Plenty of time to look at menus. Great wine list something for everyone on there. Ordered our food and shortly after we were taken to our table. Food was cooked to perfection and nice spacing between courses. Highly recommend the pannacotta for dessert was delicious. We will definitely be back once we can convince nanny to babysit again.

Came on a Wednesday evening at 6.30 to a warm greeting and a prompt choice of pre dinner drink along with the menus. A reasonably small selection for each course offered plenty of variety. Escorted through to the dining room by a smart polite young man who provided wonderful service during our meal.He was obviously well trained and a credit to the restaurant.. A popular restaurant giving a good chance for conversation without disturbance by loud background music. Thank you.

The portion I got very small and only 10 french fries and 1 chip. This makes for an expensive meal with poor value. Will not return.

We made a last minute reservation on Saturday afternoon, as my daughter and I were passing through Peterborough and wanted to try something different to the high street offerings. We were delighted therefore to have found this restaurant 20 minutes outside town centre and thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. 5 stars for service (with a smile) from Emma and other team members, and 5 stars for the food which exceeded our expectations. The restaurant is really pleasant. I d describe the clientele as a slightly older age demographic (that s me too!) which means there s a background of muted conversation and quiet music - generally a nice warm atmosphere. All in all a really pleasant environment matched up with good food and service so we ll definitely return. Finally we didn t see the kitchen staff - but compliments to the chefs!

We recently chose to have our wedding reception at the Cherry House (JULY 2023)...and we are so glad we did.We had around 53 guests and absolutely everyone enjoyed the ambience, service and incredible food. Nothing was too much trouble for Andrew and his team. The outside areas were also really nice for photos. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The food is very good and is well worth the money. The downside is that we were sat on a table where everyone had to walk past us , therefore we had a constant stream of waiting staff and other diners walking very close to our table while we were eating. This spoilt our enjoyment. We did ask to be moved however we were told that there was not an alternative table due to being fully booked. Not the dining experience we had hoped for.

Fine dining at a fair price. Enough choice on the menu to want to come back and try more. The side veg was fantastic, possibly even eclipsing the main. Not keen on the glazing on the kumquat in the post-meal petit-four, though.

Lovely Sunday Xmas lunch with friends

Unfortunately I have the misfortune to write this review on what should have been a fantastic night of celebration. I cannot believe the behaviour of the son and owner on our visit. It was a birthday treat and whilst I appreciate it was December, (we cant help when we are born) we still deserve respect and to be treated well. We didnt end up eating at the restaurant as they were so rude an unaccomodating it was embarrassing. The son violently snatched the menu out of my hands for making a playful comment about asking for a birthday drink and then denied it after asking us to leave! I would however point out that the Banyan Tree was absolutely amazing and accommodating later that evening.

Lovely service with amazing food but the roast potatoes could have been better.

Fab evening at the Cherry House with good friends. The service from all staff was excellent. Food was amazing and lots of it. Very relaxing atmosphere. We spent over three hours and was not rushed at all. We will definitely be back!

Very good as usual

We shared a meal with some great friends and we were very impressed with the venue and food. The place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the 3 course meal at just over £30pp was really excellent. We all enjoyed our choices and we all said wed happily dine there again.

Fabulous meal and service.

Came here for my 30th birthday. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the starters were not very nice and also they were not accommodating to guests who were intolerant to ingredients or did not like the options. For the prices they charge there should be options available so the starters for us accompanied by the oh well this is what we have on offer attitude from the staff is the reason for 3 not 5 stars. On a positive note everyone loved their main courses and desserts- beautiful presentation. We even got hot drinks at the end included in the price. Would we come here again? No because there are cheaper places that serve food that is just as nice at a lower price and are more accommodating to dietary requirements or taste. That said the overal presentation of the food was nice as well as the folded napkins and candles. The starters were just really disappointing for the taste and price.

Really good food, plentiful portions. Good choice for Sunday lunch with 3-course set price menu at reasonable price. We had to wait quite a while before ordering but it seems thats just how they do things so just go with the flow and enjoy! Diners are crammed into the restaurant when a full house, so if you like to stay more socially distanced I would maybe go somewhere else - just my observation and not a criticism. Visited the cherry house on Sunday and was really looking forward to it. The starter was ok melon balls with Parma ham. I chose rib of beef which was chewy I had a selection of vegetables which in my opinion didnt seem to have been seasoned. The sherry trifle was ok but didnt have fresh cream just synthetic cream.very surprised as I I was expecting a very high standard here

Go-to restaurant for a group of friends who worked together in Peterborough twenty years ago. We have dinner here in September and January and have had no complaints on the five or six years weve been coming back...so thats around 160 dinners successfully consumed...well done Cherry House - see you in the New Year

Great place with friendly staff, very comfortable environment and great food. We have been here a number of times and Id normally give 5star but my steak didnt really have any flavour and for the extra cost I expected more. Everything else was great though so nearly a 5 star rating.

Went to celebrate an anniversary. The food was excellent and the service staff friendly and helpful. All 3 courses were good, as was the coffee afterwards, with petit fours. All for less than £30 pp has to make this the best value in Peterborough by far. Dont have to wait for an anniversary - go now. Lets be thankful for places like the Cherry House. Its a small place, so please make sure you turn up unlike the no shows which cost the business money and which means we all have to pay deposits to make sure the business is viable in the long run. Cozy. Excellent food and service. Good value. What more can you ask for!

Waiting staff amazing starter was really nice maybe lacking enough toast with parfait other starters really nice. Main course Grasmere pork tough beef main very good chicken and brie wrapped very nice. Puddings amazing once again service second to none. Well worth money.

26 of us went to celebrate the life and passing of my late aunt which we were unable to do in February due to covid. The meal was out of this world, piping hot with plenty on the menu to choose from. As usual the staff were very friendly and helpful towards the party and it was great value for money. Would very much recommend The Cherry House Werrington as a place to dine. Thank you once again.

Another year, another birthday, and another wonderful meal at The Cherry House! This cosy, welcoming restaurant has been our favourite for many years, and we ve celebrated countless birthdays and anniversaries there over that time. Our first visit since restrictions were lifted, we were greeted warmly by both Andrew and Jordan, and we appreciated the changes that had been made in the restaurant to help diners feel safe and relaxed. Although our absolute favourite starter of Broccoli and Stilton soup was not on the menu this time, that was no issue, as the kitchen brigade produced the delicious recipe for us before we tucked into our hearty main courses! The food and the ambiance was as delicious and enjoyable as ever, we really valued being back at our favourite eatery, and we booked in for Christmas Eve before we departed. Thank you for making my birthday even more special.

There are so many chain-type restaurants around nowadays that every now and again its nice to go somewhere that serves proper food (you know what I mean). Been here twice in recent months, found their set menu reasonably priced and the food very nice on both occasions (cant remember the proper name for it on the menu but the seafood sausage starter was a highlight!). Drinks reasonable, too. Decor is a little old fashioned but many would say thats part of what this place is. Sure well go back.

Service was good. Drinks, great and lots of choice Food was subpar... duck and pink peppercorn source (rank combo) and the lamb source was very watery for my date. Desert was OK but sticky toffee pudding was swimming in a watery source which did nothing for it at all. Hope this is constructive, I want to reiterate the service was good, Just the food was yuk

The Cherry House is a lovely traditional pub/restaurant with wonderful thatched roof. We visited the Cherry House in December and were impressed with the fantastic menu. The tables were all set with festive hats and crackers and the menu was suitably festive too. Starters, main course and deserts were all beautifully presented and very tasty.

Went here for an evening xmas meal. Wow, the chef creates amazing meals. I had garlic and mushrooms in a filo pastry, followed by filet of beef with a mixture of mushrooms in a red wine reduction and an assortment of seasonal vegetables. This was to die for. I chose the Mr. Gibbons sticky toffee pudding for dessert equally as nice. Rounded out with coffee and a selection of sweets. I am looking forward to taking my wife here.

This is a very lovely, traditional and cozy restaurant. The staff are very attentive and friendly and the food is exquisite. We went for a couples date night and it was incredible. There were also friends dining at a nearby table and a birthday celebration elsewhere. The restaurant caters well for all group types. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning.

My goodness what a restaurant! Went Friday night and everything was amazing: the staff, the extensive wine list (haha), the service was so speedy and the food was perfect. The atmosphere was lovely and one particular waitress was very informative (I was really curious and kept asking what different parts of my meal were). Superb food & service for the special occasion

Went for our 25th wedding anniversary told the restaurant when I booked it but did not acknowledge this when we came to the restaurant we ordered stickey toffee pudding it tasted disgusting and the sauce was very watery i am a chef and have worked at the haycock Hotel where in the 80 s we had a high standards we would not except this desert and we were seated then half a hour later their sat a table of 4 right next to us no Social distancing my wife was in touching contact there dont understand Social distancing the restaurant was empty so I dont understand the seating arrangements when other restaurants i have been to stick to this and the table next to us was on loud speaker on her mobile phone not a very good experience for the money we paid been to better places a big let down

Food was good. I had the salmon & prawn starter, followed by duck. Both were very good, although the duck was slightly tough, despite being cooked perfectly. My sticky toffee pudding dessert was very good. Service was attentive and efficient. We also had the fig starter, which was excellent and the lamb, which my wife thought was excellent. Her only minor criticism was the ratatouille, which she felt did compliment the lamb. Excellent evening
