Enjoyed a fantastic meal at the Golden Pheasant in Etton. A group of 8 of us, we pre-ordered off the festive menu. The menu was so reasonably priced for such high quality, professional food - it is worth more! The food was all presented beautifully, and was extremely tasty. You can tell this chef is highly trained! The entire table said how tasty the food was, and we all enjoyed sharing the vegetables/ accompaniments- it felt like a family Christmas dinner! The service was friendly, thank you so much to our two lovely waitresses Alison and Ashleigh, and the General Manager Suzanne. We loved our festive table with decoration and crackers! Excited to see posters for future special menus and events in the pub too - looking forward to New Year’s Eve and the Tasting Menu evening with Big Bird Catering! Having been aware of the food and service previous years not being so good, it was exciting to see such a good quality food offering, varied menus, and such friendly service. A superb local establishment for all of the outskirts-of-Peterborough villages. Thanks Golden Pheasant Team!
We had a lovely family get together with my elderly parents here on Sunday. We had a room to ourselves as there were a good few of us. The food was absolutely spot on and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were also excellent. I would recommend this pub, it was a great experience and we hope to go back in the summer
Unfortunately just returned home after an extremely disappointing meal. We had the Sunday roast and one person of our party had the fish and chips. We waited an hour and half for the food to arrive to be met with cold beef for all three that had it, cold chicken, two big burnt Yorkshires with burnt vegetables and potatoes to share within them which were also cold and the fish tasted like it was off. It was a massive shame, the staff were very nice and accommodating and it really is a lovely atmosphere but the food was just not at an acceptable or edible standard, especially for the price. If you’re looking for a pint with a nice atmosphere, I’d recommend but if you’re looking for a decent meal, I would not. Such a shame for a local lovely venue.
Nice clean country pub. I had Halibut mustard grain fondue, crab, which was very nice, my son had the beef burger with added bacon and fries, to which he said was delicious, it certainly looked very good, with a generous portion of fries, my wife and mother in law both opted for the sausage and mash, this was served in a bowl, which was full to the top, good helping of mashed potato and ample gravy, the sausages, to which they got three each were a really good size, not jumbo’s but not standard size, they both enjoyed this dish very much, for dessert,, three of us had the apple and pear crumble which again was delicious and my wife had the chocolate Affogato which was equally as good. Service was outstanding, although it was very quiet on our visit (Thursday lunchtime) the waitress was very good checking everything was ok and very quick In getting refreshments to the table. The pub itself was very clean, no sticky tables etc to which you sometimes get in other places. I would definitely recommend this place, and will definitely be returning at some point.
Amazing!! We were a party of six including children and everybody had a lovely meal. The menu had something for everyone and we all left very happy. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the food was stunning, chef max did an amazing job, I would’ve had ordered one of everything on the special if I could have. 10/10 Will be back again soon.
Thursday evening supper with friends was convivial and very enjoyable in this excellent local pub. The menu is sensibly short with classics like fish and chips along with more adventurous offerings. Photos attached of my pigeon breast starter and sea bass on truffle risotto (sorry forget to take before I started!). The wine list is also short but a good selection and well priced. We enjoyed a Picpoul. The decor is gradually being updated by the new owners/managers but the friendly efficient service made the odd brick wallpaper disappear! Will definitely return. Good place for walking and cycling.
Was a very good sunday lunch with only the gravy letting it down. Maybe on the sharing meals put the veg seperate or provide tongs to help serve the meal. Other then that the staff was very pleasant and friendly
Excellent food, friendly staff and great service! The menu changes every two weeks so you can always try something new every time you go. Good selection of drinks too. Happy customers, can’t wait to go back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Bad experience. Food area was cold, also heard someone else say they was cold. Tables couldnt fit legs under well, waited 40 minutes for food to come just the two of us and place was empty and then when it came it was awful. Burnt, cold, and gravy is not gravy and is like water. Got a full refund as we didnt eat it but not what you want on a sunday.
Delicious 3 course meal for our Christmas party. The food was of a very high standard and presentation was excellent. Highly recommend.
Amazing Christmas dinner last night, definitely recommend. All 3 courses were Super tasty, cooked to perfection and quite simply delicious.
Just had the best meal - the vegetarian options were brilliant. LOVED the celeriac soup with chestnut I could have this everyday for every meal
Went as a party of 9 for Sunday lunch. Pre-orderd mains as requested. Very disappointed. The beef was raw not rare ( and fatty)! The Yorkshire pudding bowls were so burnt we couldnt eat them. The gravy was like water and tasteless. Did mention the issues and got a round of drinks on the house, but would of preferred to pay full price for an amazing meal. The staff were lovely though and very apologetic. Sadly wont be going back
We have been to, and eaten, at The Golden Pheasant a few times now since its reopening with new owners. Everything is settling in brilliantly. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. We have eaten there a few times, enjoying from the Pub Classics and the Specials menus. The Sunday sharing roasts are truly fantastic. We ate last Thursday night at their speciality Steak Night and were not disappointed. Huge compliments to the new Chef, Max. The fillet steak and choice of different sides were outstanding. Keep up the excellent work, it s great to see this beautiful village pub coming back to its glory again. Also, keep an eye out for the Nine Bridges Beer Festival to be held there again next year, superb event with excellent ales on offer.
Been here a few times - the food is always excellent, the service is very friendly, and the crazy golf is always good fun for the kids. The duck leg terrine was delicious.
Really lovely staff, attentive and considerate of dietary boundaries. Felt very welcomed, and recommendations were delicious. Would come back
Came here with family Friday 15th Nov. We had mains and puddings. All food/wine/beer was lovely. Perfectly cooked Venison. This was the first time wed been since the new owners took over. Lovely, pleased the food and drink are still really good. Well be back soon
Thank you for the fabulous meal we enjoyed yesterday for our mum s 80th birthday celebration. From start to finish, we felt incredibly well looked after. While planning this special surprise for my mum, the communication from the team was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble, and every detail was handled with care. The staff followed my instructions to the letter and went above and beyond, even helping to hide my sister, who had flown in from Canada that morning, to create a truly unforgettable moment for Mum. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional. Every member of staff was attentive, friendly, and ensured the celebration went smoothly. Thank you so much for helping to make this day so special for our family. I highly recommend Golden Pheasant for any occasion you will not be disappointed!
Awful meal, had the beef shin pie. Very fatty and stringy. Took forever to come out. Arrived 6.30,didnt leave till about 9.30.
Visited twice in two weeks - once for Sunday lunch - whole roast chicken to share, and once for Friday evening meal - dressed crab. On both occasions the food was both delicious, and beautifully presented. Great menus, and every member of staff that we encountered was extremely welcoming and helpful. Could not have asked for more, and looking forward to returning.
Lovely pub in a quiet village. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of a noisy atmosphere while also enjoying free parking and good food, this is the place to visit.
Cold food. Sausages reheated three times! (Severe health issue with pork!!). One meal out of 9 ordered never even came to the table. The crudest version of a Tarte Tartin Ive ever witnessed, consisting of half an apple (unpeeled and uncored), cut in half wrapped in pastry. Rudest of rude Manageress who was not interested in hearing complaints. Raising her voice, telling us were not welcome to return. Ahem, we will never return Madam!!
Great roasts with a huge Yorkshire full of veg & roasties. Home made toffee apple sauce with the pork and a very pleasant horseradish sauce for the beef. Harriet was very knowledgeable about the food, and made us feel special.
Great friendly service and excellent food, a must go for Sunday lunch lovers
Table for 3 people, only two meals arrived because the chef had not read the complete order. One meal should have been gluten-free but arrived with bread sauce and no standard veg served with it. Extra veg had been ordered to account for no Yorkshire pudding, so only that veg arrived - 5 minutes after main plate. 3rd persons food was cancelled altogether and reordered as a different dish so we could at least all be eating at the same time. Very apologetic staff but shocking to see no measures in place to prevent cross contamination of food after being assured that gluten-free options are available. Please review this before something bad happens to one of your customers. Ww will not be returning! Dietary restrictions: Poor
We held a wake for our late father on 22/8/24 and were offered the marquee for our private function at no extra cost. Exceptional buffet of sandwiches, all prepared with freshly cooked meats and other fillings. Delicious homemade sausage rolls and scotch eggs (with runny yolks). Olives, crisps and gorgeous homemade cupcakes and tray bakes. Variety of different teas and coffee. The chef prepared a delicious risotto for our guests with dietary requirements. Very well organised, presented and great value for 40+ people. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again for a meal. Thank you to Martin, Max and all the staff for making a tough day much better.
Superb under new management. The best food for many miles. Kid-friendliness: Large playing area and beer garden. Food : 5/5 |
The food was beautiful, the service exemplary the experience excellent.
Dog friendly place, nice country pub with great food and lovely staff
Awesome Sunday roast, lamb rack to share an absolute winner. Beautiful pub and great staff! Well worth the two hour drive up from London.
***UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT*** It was an absolute pleasure to spend the evening in the pub after it has been re opened!! the staff are very welcoming, very well kept beer and a great atmosphere, but the star of the evening was the food, wholesome homemade meals that showcase the chefs talents i cant wait to be back as there are so many things i need to try! Kid-friendliness: Plenty of activitys to keep kids happy in the garden Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the door and all on 1 level
We had a lovely evening dining outside. The staff was super friendly, we both had delicious bavette paired with a very good Malbec. Just 15 minutes from the A1, so really recommended to stop by!! Dogs are welcome and they have a playground for the childeren. You can also park with your camper.
Had the rib roast for sharing (2) and it was beautiful! Servers/Chef considerate enough to cook to medium for the outer parts and mid-rare for me in the middle to suit both our preferences. Will definitely be going back to check out other menu items and/or sit outside this stunning old pub with a crisp vino!
Everything was on point. Staff attentive, welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious, good sized portions
Booked a table for 2 ppl at 13.15hrs on a Sunday as it was our wedding anniversary and wanted something a little different. Boy did we get it! Took nearly 50 mins to get the starter (which was just bread and oil) with main course being delivered 15 mins later. Most main course choices where shared so if you didnt agree on what you wanted - tough. The lamb was still baaaaaaing when it came out (guess thats what gourmet food is like ) and half way through the meal water started pouring through the ceiling meaning we had to relocate (no assistance given by the staff) to a table further away from the leak. By the time wed moved the rest of the food had gone cold. All but one other cover had left and we seemed to have got forgotten. Had to go and find someone to ask about getting the bill. Had one round of drinks knocked off for the inconvenience of the leak although nothing was said by the staff. Wont be rushing back.
Nice food, bit expensive.
Great place
We heard the pub had been taken over so decided to give it a go We where seated at 530 it took over 20 minutes for us to get our drink we ordered our food then didn t get to the table until gone half past 6 when people on other tables seated a while after us got their food just after us. all our food was cold except my farther in laws burger my wife s cod and pasta and my steak was just warmed in the microwave when we complained. not what you want when paying good money !!! Not even an apology from the chef !! Other than that quality of the food was amazing and the staff were happy to help with a big smile! live entertainment was an added bonus
Amazing guys, thank you. We booked in for a table of 7 today for my birthday. The food was gorgeous...burgers, chicken burgers, fish and chips, pork belly and halibut all cooked fresh and very tasty. Service was very attentive and all the staff, so friendly. Thank you for my lovely birthday dinner. Definitely will be back x
Nice Sunday roast.
Only the first full day for Max & Suzanne & wow! Lovely atmosphere & amazing food - the freshest fish ever & batter that s delicious & perfect texture. Chef also made homemade chicken nuggets for my 3 year old grandson as they weren t on the menu - very thoughtful & they were delicious. Unbelievably Max is cooking solo at the moment & producing this standard of food - amazing! Can t wait to visit again soon .
We had been for drinks on opening night and decided to come back for food.We certainly werent disappointed ! We both had a rib eye steak , which was cooked to perfection. The homemade chips were very tasty and the tender stem broccoli was also cooked perfectly. Service was brought with a smile and the staff were all very welcoming . A good selection of drinks to choose from and the deserts were amazing. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.
Our first Sunday lunch under the new owners (who have recently taken over in July 24) and it was great! Thoroughly recommended and the Pheasant will now become our preferred local venue.
Golden wedding anniversary with family absolutely superb service food surroundings many thanks to John and the team making our day
First time weve visited. Felt like wed been going for years. Just the nicest atmosphere, with the friendliest hosts, and clientele. Add in dining by a real fire with cracking food and wines, whats not to love!
Fantastic food and atmosphere.
A fantastic pub on the outskirts of Peterborough thats absolutely worth a visit. Great food with friendly, chatty hosts. Highly recommend, and well be back with our family for sure!
We tried the restaurant for the first time last night and really enjoyed it. The food was fantastic, and everyone was so friendly.
Got in last minute for Sunday dinner. Lots of good quality food with great friendly service. Excellent value for money.
Really good Sunday lunch in a lovely pub. We will definitely be returning.
Everything is freshly cooked and you can tell. Plus friendly people. Well worth going out of your way for.
Portions are not amazing, cearel bowl of veg between 3 roast dinners, watery gravy and the meat was thinly shaved better than kebab meat!! Was disappointed! Great for drinks and out door area, but need more food for the prices
Would not go again
A friendly welcome with great home cooked food which was delicious.
Always great food and a warm welcome
Had dinner there 8/4/23 - excellent food and service from Stuart. Would thoroughly recommend
I cant rate this place highly enough. We booked to have Sunday lunch as a group of 20 people after a christening, and they were so well-organised and accommodating. Weve visited this place numerous times. The food is so good and theres always great vegan options available. They also take allergies seriously. If youre visiting, know that their pies are proper pies! Their Pizzas are to die for, and their Sunday lunch is better than your mum makes... Sorry mum. I know Ill be visiting again very soon!
Staff brought me food from the party I was hiding from
Good food excellent staff. Would highly recommend Parking: Good sized parking area. Kid-friendliness: Several great childrens play areas
Lovely country pub tucked away in nice surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food and drinks. Thanks Paul. Food : 5/5 |
Staff were warm and welcoming, food was just absolutely lovely and we all left feeling very satisfied. Cant recommend this place enough
Popped in for an early dinner Johno is a wonderful convivial host nothing was too much trouble, lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent we will be going back, lots more to try on the menu the pizzas look delightful....! Thanks very much Johno.
What a lovely evening in the garden, birds singing, sun shining and gorgeous food to top it all off. Highly recommended
Nice small country pub... friendly welcome... Sunday Lunch was very nice... service not so good... the waitress seemed more interested in talking to her family than dealing with paying customers... we ordered lamb but got beef... the chef even came out to reassure us that it was lamb but it was a very beefy tasting and looking lamb...? Go figure...? I wasnt going to argue and the meal was very nice... however upon leaving sarcastic remarks were made by the waitresses family... something about chicken tasting like duck... comments that were not called for... good and bad comments... but a result im sorry to say I wont be going going there again...
First ever visit, and its safe to say we will definitely be going back. Greeted on arrival and shown to our (reserved) outdoor table. Kids then vanished off to the play area whilst the food was prepared. Portions were a decent size, and the food was lovely. Host and staff were available throughout, and were both hospitable, friendly and professional. All in all a 5* visit and looking forward to our next visit. Parking: Loads of it and not an issue. Kid-friendliness: Large play are for the kids, and a green/paddock with a football goal in it. There is also a crazy golf course available for a small charge.
I and a lot of family members went to an engagement party on Saturday evening, what a lovely place. We had it in the marquee outside. If you live local and need a party venue, then look no further. The staff were fantastic , the food was delicious and plentiful, the drinks were all reasonably priced, we had a fantastic time and when we visit family we will definitely be returning for food. Five stars all the way, and thank you, The Golden Pheasant for a fantastic experience
A lovely big beer garden and a nice country pub
Impromptu visit with a friend. Lovely summers evening, sat outside with our G&Ts. Good atmosphere & great staff.
Great food. Great service. Lovely venue definitely be back Dietary restrictions: Caters well for gluten free Food : 5/5 |
Sunday lunch was great, generous portions and delicious. We were in the back room which was very echo -y and could hear every word of the conversations on the other tables so definitely not for a romantic, intimate meal Didnt like that as well as our table reservation there was the same reservation plaque for the booking after us. It made us feel like we were on a timer which was a real shame as it took the shine off a lovely lunch and we were gone well before the next people anyway. A bit more of a subtle approach would have made all the difference.
Great service and Christmas lunch was more than worth it. Thanks very much.
Good honest food. Wooden tables. Not cosy. Apparently attempting the wine bar look. Probably falls between 2 stools. Is it a pub or restaurant?
Great atmosphere very welcoming we booked in for food 11 of us ate and all loved it and stayed on for the vinyl night will definitely be back
Been twice..was there Sunday 20th march..Sunday roast was to die for..probably the best Ive had lashing of gravey..my only gripe was needed more roast potatoes as they are soooo good 3 wasnt enough...and strawberry cheese cake for dessert wow..the owners really know how to cook and so friendly and welcoming I go to Peterborough 3-4 times a year I will visit for a roast every time..so if your in area its a must.
Good place out in the sticks for a drink or a meal
Just dropped in for quick drink mid walk very pleasant
Fantastic place to eat, would highly recommend it there. Took a party of 13 people and all the food came out at the same time, hot and all cooked perfectly. The desserts were freshly made and tasted amazing. The service was impeccable and really cant fault them.
Great food attentive & friendly landlord would definitely go back-probably when the mini golf is open
Its OK as pubs that do grub go. Food was good for the prices. Beer was good and the staff friendly
Very nice place. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Nice food.
A lovely old building and a decent menu. Our steak pies were delicious
Fab meal last night at The Golden Pheasant with my other luscious lady ! :) The pie was superb and the cheesecake was gorgeous. Excellent service. Very friendly and attentive. Can thoroughly recommend and am looking forward to our next visit. Thank you.
Amazing food and brilliant service went today and me and the wife cant wait to return
Absolutely great food. Had the steak and ale pie with the best gravy ever. Very attentive staff, kept our glasses topped up. Great atmosphere, so welcoming. Will certainly come again.
Never answer the phone to try and book in leave a message and never get back to you very poor customer service. Have been before and very good food and hospitality such a shame
We had 3 most enjoyable evenings and fabulous meals over the last 3 evenings. Definitely be back next year when we visit Burghley Horse Trials.
Top place village pub great food live music
Lovely host and fantastic steak
Very very nice and good food fantastic
Country pub with nice atmosphere and excellent food. A little bit out the way but worth the effort to find. Throughly enjoyed our time there. Very affable host and staff.
Very friendly, good food and a warm welcome. Great place for a large rib eye steak or my favourite the mixed grill. Chef took the time to visit each table and ask how the food was. Will definitely be going back. We were a party of seven, having starters, main course and deserts, the service was very good.
Just been for Sunday lunch at the golden pheasant, food delicious, staff all friendly, definitely be returning very soon. Thankyou all
Good beer.
We had our wedding anniversary on Saturday and the food and service made it a perfect evening which was supported by us going back in time and enjoying a dance with friends. The staff couldn t do enough and the best part of the Golden Pheasant, the food was cooked to order and was definitely worth the wait,
Such a warm and friendly welcome, and the best steak & ale pie, ever!
Delicious Sunday lunch at the Golden Pheasant. Recommended Vegetarian options: I enjoyed a vegetarian Sunday lunch at the Golden Pheasant. The vegetarian sausages and gravy were lovely. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were top notch. Great assortment of vegetables
We had our Christmas party (18 covers) here and couldnt ask for more, nothing was too much trouble, the food was fantastic and we got excellent service, would highly recommend.
Nice &friendly place,good pub grub
Brilliant time at the Pheasant. Staff and owner really good. Thanks.
Visited after part Covid restrictions lifted. Facilities and dining/garden well signed and managed. Wouldnt go at night as too cold, but they do offer to borrow a blanket for £5.00 or you could buy one for £10.00! hmmm!!
Went for a drink, tables well set out and plenty of space. Very busy (Sunday afternoon) but service OK. Food looked lovely.
Very welcoming place the staff were fantastic, they have massive beer garden aswell
Excellent food and service
Great food and service. Busy. Good atmosphere.
Visited in April 2021 just after pubs reopened. Had a lovely time sat in the garden with a nice pint. Didnt try the food but looked on with envy at other tables as it looked fantastic. Only thing I didnt love was the music playing out during the afternoon on a Sunday which was a bit too much of a party vibe for a quiet Sunday but I suppose the kids like it :)
Nice friendly atmosphere good service.
We had a impromptu meal here on Saturday early evening. A table was free for and hour and a half. They had a small outside menu until they return back inside. I chose the salad with dates strawberries balsamic vinegar. Yes it sounds a bit weird but the vegan block cheese was heaven. So much so so ive gone and bought some. The salad was divine.... The wine a little too pricey at £7.15 for a large.. id probably have a cider when we next go back. Great food
Great location-overlooks lovely fields, great drinks-good selection of lager and ales and great food-good quality pub grub, perfect country pub, looking forward to our next visit!
Birthday meal was booked for the restaurant several weeks ago, but disappointed when allocated a table in the bar when we arrived. It was noisy and attention to detail by staff was poor. We had to request cutlery on both occasions when served with starter and main course. The atmosphere in the bar was not conducive for a family meal. We were very disappointed with the meal..it seemed the staff was pandering to local friends rather that the paying customers. ,
Great beer and atmosphere
Lovely village pub, great service and friendly place.
Nice terrace and atmosphere. Service a bit slow that day, probably short of staff. And dishes pretty basic but ok
Booked for dinner and arrived at the 6.30 booked time - was promptly offered drinks. Had to ask for a food menu, after ~30 mins had to hunt for someone to take the order. The menu isnt large and we were informed that Pizzas were unavailable as they had run out of ingredients. Ordered Fish and Chips and Burger - food was ok. No one came to offer desert or coffee. Had to hunt for someone to get the bill, had to repeat since no one actually came the first time.
Good food pleasant staff well set out owing to the situation
Very nice place spacious to witch is good. foods lovely and great staff friendly people ideal for kids aswell they have play area and parking brilliant aswell definitely worth a trip to golden pheasant for food and drinks
Came over to visit my dad for an early fathers day. And came here for food and drinks. Cant fault it was completely amazing. Food was brilliant.
Lovely pub and friendly staff.
Brilliant place helpful landlord, Jono
Great service, pleasant surroundings, prices not too horrendous. Will go again.
Very nice day out
Had a wonderful meal for 4 last night at The Golden Pheasant. We ate in the bar as there was a function on but this was fine as we got to see the owner in action with is hosting skills and banter. Food cooked by his wife/chef was wonderful and all homemade. Definately will visit more often.
A very friendly place to go and eat . The food is all cooked fresh and seems like its all homemade . There is a decent little play area outside and even a mini golf course which my kids loved . Had a really relaxing time . Top marks to all at the pub .
Food is brilliant go the once a week religiously Kirsty does a amazing job of the pies absolutely amazing and the beer is brilliant from Johno!! Very welcoming pub!
Good and friendly place food very good staff efficient and a venue for partys and weddings ect
Lovely food and service with a smile. Highly recommend.
Amazing foods and great atmosphere
Great landlords and superb location for a meal a party or wedding celebration definitely recommended. Also good selection of beverages alcoholic and none alcoholic.
What a wonderful place. I attended a wedding here on Saturday 18th September & it was a great night. Both landlord& landlady really welcoming, friendly & good fun. Will definetly visit again they deserve 5 stars

Fabulous setting. Lovely food and great, friendly service. Would recommend to anyone. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Travelled down from North Cumbria to meet family. Received a warm welcome at this excellent hostelry. Great food and service along with a good selection of beers. Thank you
Great home cooked food great drinks
Good food. Nice environment. Excellent customer service.
Really nice safe atmosphere. Great for a cold beer.
Lovely place to sit out outside in the sun. Friendly staff
Beautiful place with a friendly welcome, food was very tasty. A great place to visit.
Friendly accommodating staff, great range of beers, food is excellent and has plenty of outdoor seating.
Lovely family meal outside, very good service
Amazing food, a hidden gem. Will be back soon
Just stopped off for a swift one really impressed with things .
Nice friendly atmosphere, good beer and a genial host. Enjoyed our visit, would certainly be returning! Lovely. Next visit, Wednesday 26th August. Lunch with family members. Food was delicious, all dishes were excellent. Service was very good, mine host was very attentive. We will be visiting again next time we are over. Well worth a visit for food or just a few drinks.
First visit and not disapointed. Lovely location and ownets. Both fish and vegie burger ordered were of good size. Tàrtar and salsa souces require separate praise.
Good for kids
Very pheasant ( pleasant)
The food is mostly local, very local. The triple cooked chips are amazing. We will definitely be coming back.
Amazing food and brilliant friendly staff made it a lovely evening for us last night. We will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend! Thank you
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and lovely owners. Couldnt ask for any more.
Waited 40 minutes for food which was dry and overcooked. No explanation why it took so long and poor service /attentivty given it was table service.
Beautiful places, matched with beautiful presentation of the meals... just the price felt too ala carte for what you had
Went for afternoon tea. Absolutely gorgeous. Homemade savouries and scones. The littke dish of Christmas pudding was just divine. Great couple who run it. Thank you.
Welcoming fire & friendly staff - delicious noodles! Chef very helpful in adapting dishes to dietary restrictions. We had a lovely time, thank you!
My mum paid £480 for a buffet for my dads wake. My dad was a regular in there. The buffet was all open before we arrived so was a bit warm and starting to dry out. The table it was on was not very big. There was sandwiches, pork pies, sausage rolls some Doritos and not a lot more. Im disgusted I would not have paid 50 quid for it and my dad would have been very disappointed. I would never use this pub again. They should be ashamed of themselves
Amazing food really impressed we will be back
Great surrounding, great food.
Amazing food! The ribs were great and everyone else in our party was pleased with what they had. Great service - will definitely be back.
Best Sunday lunch weve had out for a long time. Good service, clean and tasty food these people have it right.
Great place for a wedding reception, from what I hear the staff make you forget the stress of setting up and are all really friendly
Five of us visited for Sunday Lunch and we had a friendly welcome and very good service always checking if everything was ok. We had a Sunday roast and the need and pork belly were cooked to a good standard.. There was a variety of seasonal vegetables which were also cooked well. 3 had Etton Mess as dessert and two of us shared a cheese board which was very well presented with variety of cheeses an fruit. Probably best I have seen. It was an enjoyable visit with appropriate banter you left feeling comfortably full.
Good food very frindly enjoyed a really nice meal
I like it here and the food is great, we go with friends for lunch but end up staying all afternoon
About the best good I have had in ages!
Polite and really friendly
Here is the thing: the food is absolutely great but it is let down by the time waiting for mains and even worst dessert to arrive - it took almost 30min for main and almost 1h for dessert even though we ask many times. The location and surrounds are great.
Great food in a country location. Thoroughly recommend
Its a old pub but serving lovely food .
Good food, good beers, wonderful area for kids to play. Very accommodating staff especially taking 3 young children! But, big praise for the landlord! Came and chatted, super friendly, how a landlord should be!! We will be going back!
Lovely pub, food was great and service top notch
We went for the music that they put on, (Sunday) great show, great pub, great weather, great day.. Thanks very much.
Great atmosphere and great food with attentive staff, perfect place to have a few drinks and food with friends, highly recommended
Absolutely fantastic food, it s a shame we live so far away. We went three times in one week and we will definitely be back next year.
Good food easy to park.
Lovely setting peaceful and lots of tables to eat outside in the sun. Food mediocre service slow though told 20 mins as cooked fresh. We had chicken fajita and tuna mayo fajita. 20mns???? Salad was a few paltry leaves only. Very disappointed. .
Great food, first time I have visited, friendly and fun landlord, would highly recommend.
Nice pub, cozy feel. Friendly staff
Food was good. Service wasnt great, but was ok.
Really nice Sunday roast, with a decent choice and a very welcoming service
Lovely atmosphere wonderful menu highly recommended
What a find! A really great pub and restaurant with truly wonderful food, attentive, spot-on service and a charming proprietor. This was the best Sunday roast we have had in a long time. Both the beef and the lamb were succulent and tender and the veg, plentiful and cooked al dente accompanied with perfect roast potatoes. This really was proper home cooked food. The deserts did not disappoint either, all were fabulous, particularly the apple crumble and custard! To top it all off, the gentle background music of Northern Soul and Motown was awesome! We highly recommend this place and both ourselves and our friends will be returning.
Great food
Warm and cozy lovely atmosphere
Fantastic, good beer, great food, very reasonable prices, we all had a really nice meal, definitely recommend. Many thanks
