London Rd, Wansford, Peterborough PE8 6JB, United Kingdom
Country pub based in the outskirts of Peterborough in a beautiful village called Wansford. Serving hearty food with influences from around the world. Locally sourced with local ales and premium drinks.
Travelling up the A1. We wanted to stop and eat. But did not want to stop at a service stop. We hit this by accident tbh. But had a great lunch. Very friendly. And lovely little village just of the A1.
A lovely pub located in a beautiful village with lots of country walks, but... the biggest let-down was the plastic flowers on the tables: how old-fashioned and totally off-putting! It's better nothing than that! The other one was strange "soupy" side to the great filet of sea trout.... I had to "fish-out" the tiniest pieces of potatoes out of the source - a very odd presentation of what could be a great meal. Otherwise, it's centrally located, the staff are friendly and efficient. See you all next time 👌
Gorgeous old style pub. Food was excellent, and showed a lot of care and thought had gone into it. Beer battered haddock was fresh, battered light and tasty. The chips were next-level, like chips used to be before the modern American style messed things up. And the beef shin pie with mash was very homey, delicious.
I didn’t eat here, I only came for drinks so can't comment on the food, but it did smell delicious! Friendly bar staff (it was a chef on the bar when we were there), knowledgeable about the wine selection. Cosy atmosphere, the fire was lit.
Nice pub and dog friendly 🐶. Really good sized portions and staff were really accommodating and helpful.. Working in pubs customer service myself growing up so nice to have a friendly smile and welcoming place makes such a big difference.Good food recommend the fish and chips we destroyed it.🤣.
Fabulous food, beautifully presented. Staff friendly and helpful. The menu is really interesting and marks the GF/V/VG options. It is a modest range of dishes but they have tried to cover some staple favourites with interesting variations. It is gourmet food with the focus on flavours and modest portions. Ample for me but those with a large appetite would probably want to order a couple of sides. The central part of this place is the bar with seating at the back and around the old whitewash walls inside. Lovely setting and spot for a pint or some fancy food.
Service and food was fantastic! Good selection of drinks and menu. The beef on the sunday roast was cooked lovely and rare with a great vegetable selection and huge yorkshire pudding. My sea bass had so much amazing flavour and the ingredient pairing was stunning! Followed it up with poached pear, caramelized pecan nuts and ice cream. It was some of the best food I have had in a very long time! Looking forward to returning.
We called in here on the way to Sandringham, and was pleasantly surprised. Food was good pub food. We had fish and chips, and burgers and chips, which were good quality for a pub. All food was freshly cooked with fresh ingredients. The service was good here with a friendly staff member making sure we had exactly what we wanted, recommendations and questions answered well. We will definately call here again in the future and I would recommend.
Food looked good but was cold, chunk out of plate when told waitress she said they are all like it,would not eat hear again
Closed the bar early on our table which was disappointing as we were not warned. Food was good but service was a bit slow. Not sure it was worth venturing out as far for our party, might be if your more local to the area.
Lovely village pub with a cracking pub comfort food menu! The staff were friendly and welcoming and it had a nice atmosphere around the bar with the locals.
Great food! We have the catch of the day and curry and was great! Service is also great!
Saturday night six of us nice meal, paid bill 370pounds.Asked for another drink at 1012pm to be told till closed, a little disappointing. For that reason only will never use again shame.
Absolutely lovely staff, roast lamb cooked to perfection with plenty of veg, burger for the young person in our party was same price as a roast which I feel is wrong and should be cheaper, was slightly let down at the end when we were given the dessert menu but then left for an inordinate length of time we got fed up and decided to forget desserts and leave but up until then everything was spot on.
Great place to stop for a bite to eat on the way to the North!
Lovely food and service
The food and service was awesome. Parking: There was plenty of street parking Food : 5/5 |
Excellent service today, group of 15, slight issue with dogs not being allowed in the restaurant, but the staff accommodated us in the garden, great food well cooked and friendly staff, thank you for making our occasion special
Stopped off heading south on A1 for a bite of lunch . Great experience , food and beer 1st class. Dog friendly and space 50m away to exercise dog next to the river. Highly recommended
Delightful meal, fabulous and friendly real country pub vibe with a great menu and exceptional prices for the quality.
Really nice garden and pub
Nice pub for lunch
Stopped after visiting the crematorium for some lunch. I chose the fish finger sandwich and I wasnt impressed that I only got two fish fingers in my sandwich for £14! The salad was drenched with dressing that I didnt like and the coleslaw looked like it been few days old. other than that I enjoyed my drink. I wasnt asked how my food was during my lunch. The member of staff at the bar who was a young lad, served me was very polite and helpful.
Sat here, being ignored by the staff who are all sitting by the bar eating and drinking, when got up to get served get a very welcoming huff as they put down there crisps and a very polite YES Sorry I asked for a drink! So rude of me to interrupt your eating and drinking.
No draught bitter and young staff that dont know the difference between draught and cask. Friendly enough but wont be returning
We visited last weekend for a Sunday roast and were impressed with their knowledge and ability to cater for food allergies. Erin (who served us) was great and attentive throughout, the chefs did a great job on catering for both a gluten free guest and a gluten free and dairy free child and Peter (chef) even came out to check we were happy with everything. Would highly recommend a visit especially for The GF sticky toffee pudding!
Superb food.
Beautiful meal for my 60th birthday. Lovely place and setting
We were really looked after. A great place.
The best pub around
In need of some love but the food (sandwiches) and service were fine. Garden currently closed.
Only popped in for a cuppa, got a lovely warm welcome. Lovely pub in a lovely area
Rude. Four of us booked a table for 2pm and placed a food order for sandwiches at 2.31 only to be informed after the order was taken the the kitchen refused it as they only make sandwiches up to 2.30. The staff didn t inform us of this and apparently rules are rules ! Bizarre given that this would have amounted to £60 had we stayed .but we decided to leave. Won t be back.
We both had ribeye steak which was absolutely lovely, service was excellent very happy. Thank you.
A regular stop for refreshments after walking in the area with friends. Always a warm and friendly welcome with quick service. A good range of well kept beers, comfortable surroundings and a pleasant atmosphere. We must sample the food one day having read the reviews.
Met friends we hadnt seen since before Covid. Staff were great allowed us to take as much time as we liked. Before, during and after the excellent food that was saved.
Great place for a meal with friends or a business meeting
Visited on Christmas eve..very limited Sunday menu so went for the burger which was dry and overpriced..we were a large group and nobody enjoyed there meal..very disappointed will not be returning
Awesome booked for Christmas lunch , arrived early for pre drinks and the locals were singing carols sounded fantastic , food amazing service great chat with the bosses while waiting for taxi , highly recommend
We have our annual company Christmas Dinner here, the food was really good and service was excellent
Just finished a lovely family meal where we were welcomed and looked after from start to finish. Great food, beautiful environment. Thank you
The food and service was excellent today.
Good beer, friendly staff
Superb staff, great food, lovely welcome. The fake flowers feel dated but the menu does not and thats what counts!
The whole experience of coming here for Sunday lunch was top notch. Food ,service, quality of the food and taste was beautiful. Would highly recommend
Food always great with friendly staff
Went here for valentines night meal the place was fantastic the atmosphere, local people said good evening as you walked it decorated very nice warm and homely the staff was very polite the meals was amazing they was that good nothing was left nothing was wrong with the whole evening we are definitely going back we have booked for Sunday lunch already
Lovely pub, dog friendly. The food was lovely and staff friendly. Thank you
Visited the Paper Mill at Wansford for the first time the other evening, what can i say? Great staff very friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Food was first class and we really enjoyed it. Will definitely go back again some time soon. Thanks to all for making a great evening.
Top pub, great food, drink and atmosphere. Enjoyed my visit and will return if passing by.
We wanted somewhere between Warwickshire and South Lincolnshire for a family lunch and discovered this place. Pre ordered because of party size and nothing was too much trouble on the day. I have no problem recommending this establishment if you fancy a decent nosh! Malcolm Clarke, Rugby Warwickshire March 2023 Kid-friendliness: We asked for high chair, got one, they have a decent kids menu too.
Weve visited here several times recently so the menu choice is getting slightly limited. We prefer to dine in the bar area, as restaurant was too cold when we sat in there, same menu wherever you eat. Vegetarian options: The vegetarian curry (i think its sweet potato with red pepper) is, in my opinion, the best dish on the menu, its, & Im not a vegetarian. Just a shame they dont serve it with a flat bread, (chapati or naan) to mop up the sauce. Parking: We use the free parking out front of the building. There may be parking at the back as well, but we have never been round there as it would be too far to entrance for disabled husband.
The food was stunning,Sunday roasts, great variety, service first class, nice all round atmosphere & even the dogs get treats
Went for a birthday party recently. Food was very nice and meal enjoyed by all. However I felt it was a little disappointing that the staff didnt clear away empty glasses as we had our meal, resulting in very full tables. Also Dessert cutlery was given on a plate and placed next to child so naturally didnt get passed around.. which made the whole thing feel a bit clumsy. Overall cleanliness wasnt great. I used the baby changing area and it was filthy. So I cleaned it myself before the baby was even changed. Atmosphere was nice, staff were friendly & polite, although very young so could probably benefit from additional training to improve overall customer service for mealtime. Cleanliness definitely needs to be improved in bathroom area. Overall was OK, sadly I wouldnt rave about it or go again in a hurry.
Lovely pub! We had delicious fish & chips, really tasty and well done. Quick & friendly service. Nice decor inside & great garden outside too, highly recommend :)
Fantastic food and great service. Set in the beautiful quiet village of Wansford a short drive from Peterborough. The cocktails are great too.
Very nice staff, good food and well kept beer, I will be back to enjoy again!
Service is excellent, beer is really well kept. Only ever had a burger here but that was great.
Lovely local pub, everyone was super friendly. They keep giving our dog little treats, he will definitely be coming back
Excellent food.
Brilliant and what a location! The pub is situated close to the river nene and by the historic bridge in Wansford so ideal also for walkers using the Nene way walk. We both had the Sunday roast dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it whilst we sat in the conservatory situated to the rear of the pub. My Yorkshire pudding was really good. We could not complain about the service either. Parking is on street and there are always ample spaces. Well worth a look and its a 30 seconds detour off the A1 on the northbound side.
Nicely located in the quaint village of Wansford, this is a traditional pub with a good range of drinks. I didnt eat there, but by the number of dinners it suggests its good. Parking: Situated on the original A1 London road, parking is free and plentiful and easy access to pub.
We turned up on the spur of the moment and were made very welcome. A big party in the restaurant meant a slight delay in the food but it was well worth the wait. Lovely food and friendly service in this very dog friendly pub. Fabulous
Food absolutely spot on Nice environment and friendly staff
Rude staff. The seating area outside was dirty. We were seated where the outdoor furniture was old and cranky. Catch of the day was ok but very small portion and not worth the price.
I came here to have a peaceful meal in the middle of nature. But the experience was stressful. The waitress with tattoos and red hair was very rude to me and a bit racist in her way of talking to me. Not welcoming at all. The garlic bread was not good at all. The food was so so. The catch of the day was ok but very small portion and expensive for such a small portion. I would not recommend this place. Outside table and chairs were old and dirty. Not fit at all for the prices we paid.
Not been to the Paper Mills for many years. However, on returning from the East Coast my Wife and I decided to make a short detour to the Paper Mills, and we were not disappointed. Food choice - very good. Quality brilliant. What a nice end to our few days away.
I was passing trade and saw the village of Wansford, so picturesque and serene. The Paper Mills food is hot, tasty and cooked to my liking. Staff are helpful and polite and the pub is comfortable and homely. I will visit again.
Used the backroom and garden after a funeral. The buffet was brilliant and the staff were amazing. Thank you all Jason Sheridan
Old world pub, food almost perfect but overpriced
Only stopped as passing by on way from Nene Valley Railway, but a pleasant local hostelry serving nice (but a tad expensive) lunches and very friendly and helpful staff. Good pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord.
A cozy pub/restaurant for a quick, good and affordable meal.
the food was cold and dry but the price and service as well as presentation was spectacular Parking: so many spots
Lovely atmosphere and very pleasant pub. However we were disappointed with our food choice which did not live up to expectation.
Lovely traditional old pub. Good food and friendly staff. Set in lovely surroundings. Kid-friendliness: Dogs and children welcome. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. Room in conservatory at rear to fit in a wheelchair plus access through door.
Got served a dirty cup for my tea and when I ask for a clean one I was told its just coffee stain and then I was given a clean one the staff member passed it with her finger in the cup, maybe being a bit fussy but this is not the correct practise. Having said that I have been here a few times and the food is excellent and never had a reason to complain as it is a very nice restaurant and I will definitely go again
Great traditional British pub eatery, menu very limited poor choices for vegan friendly, they had difficulty with dairy free too. Requested the supercool salad which they couldnt provide either! Lighting very harsh and glared we popped a cardigan over to soften.
Very overpriced food for what you get. £14 for a sandwich! £7 for small cup of soup with some stale bread and no butter. To top it off, they can t even pour a pint of Guinness properly. Won t be coming back here. Edit: strong response from the owner.
Didn t eat but had a few beers of good quality.
Really lovely had BLT and Brownie and the quality of the bacon and the brownie were excellent.
Amazing food and great service we vist aug 23
Great food at a reasonable price. Son really liked the fish and we all enjoyed to meal. Great job keep up the wonderful service and lovely food
A very nice pub in the village serving a very tasty local bitter. The pub has trendy decor, comes with comfy seats and has ample / easy parking outside. Locals are friendly. Good atmosphere with sports on multiple tvs. Didnt eat food but the menu looked good. It was a nice stop off on way to the Nene Railway and very much appreciated after a long day being ba tourist!
Unfortunately the disabled access wasnt quite what we had been led to believe. Although they were able to provide a ramp for the steps (for which, thank you), the toilet isnt truly accessible and my friend struggled. Luckily the other male in our group was able to assist him. I appreciate the building doesnt lend itself to adaptation but I think they need to be a little careful in describing the Paper Mills as totally accessible. My friends enjoyed their first visit to the pub and their meals. Alas my duck was overcooked and tough. Wheelchair accessibility: See above.
I went for dinner this evening for the first time the food was amazing the staff where so welcoming the restaurant had a really happy vibe. I will definitely be returning. Thank you guys didnt get pics and my toddler wouldn t sit still Kid-friendliness: Both young girls and guy was super freindly
Tasty food and good service. Great Dyson hand dryers too.
best thing to do in wansford is enjoying this pub!!!great staff and very quick service. The girl in the bar is very good.I ordered fish and chips and it was 10 out of 10 very fresh fish chips 8 out of 10 i would say.good clean place i would recommend 100%
Amazing food, service and friendly atmosphere. We were looked after really well, with 2 of our party having allergies and intolerances, we were never made to feel like a problem, they had a list of meals that could be eaten along with some that could be altered/adjusted all ready before we ordered(having informed then when booking) highly recommended.
Great food and good service, thanks.
Seated together - 7 in our birthday group. Happy with choices on menu. Enjoyed our meal.
Only stopped in for a drink while in the area. Very busy lunch time, didnt eat but all the food looked fabulous and good selection on the menu. Very nice polite bar/waiting staff. Will definitely go back for a meal, suspect booking is best option, dog friendly in the bar area.
Nice pub. Food good but not fantastic. Little too much salt added to my meal. Some staff very friendly, one however made us feel rushed to order. Would go back though. Nice evening.
Weve been 3 times now in groups ranging from 7 to 2 people. Each time the team there have been great - very friendly and accommodating. The food is consistently excellent and the meat inparticular is AMAZING. Ive got to the point where I pay extra to have both the belly pork and the beef because I dont want to choose either! A big thumbs up from us, we wouldnt shout about somewhere we know couldnt always back it up! Proper country spot with fantastic food and warm atmosphere
Absolutely fabulous - the food was delicious and good portion - and delicious- the beer and wine was a good quality - the service was with a smile and polite - we didn t wait at the bar or for our food. A credit
Nice looking place, the staff were all lovely. Had the sausage roll starter for £9, two tiny little rolls came out with some salted rocket and brown aioli (weird colour) immediately mistakenly thought I d walked into a Michelin starred eatery, no such luck. Nevertheless the follow up fish finger sandwich was more like pub fare you d expect although a little oily. The beer on offer though was very good Fullers London Pride and Grainstores beast! Kinda made up for it. If you re going to serve canapé sized sausage rolls at least try to put three on the plate, lose the nduja nonsense and stick to mustard! IMO. Will come again beer and staff were fab!
Nice cosy pub which was very welcoming and allowed dogs. Didnt try the food but will put it on our list for the New year.
Beautiful Sunday lunch
had lunch today, vegan burger, the 2 slices of tomato were so thin that you could see through them!! 3 tiny bits of lettuce.!! for the price charged, this was unacceptable. i should have complained but i put it down to chef having on off day
Little expensive
What a night !!!! Came here for my wife s 50th on a Saturday night and it couldn t of gone any better. Emailed ahead to book for 9 and did the pub have wheelchair access for our friend and was told it would be no problem. My wife and I arrived 1st and my surprise which was her friends from Essex turning up. The owner steve made us all welcome with some great banter and had us all laughing. The rest of the family arrived and we were shown to a great table in a section of the pub we had to ourselves. Steve then gave us a bottle of champagne for my wife s birthday which was lovely and we all enjoyed it. The service and food was great especially the starter of pork cheek which a few of us had ordered. I had the rib steak steak which was cooked perfect for me. Most of us had pudding which everyone loved as well. Completely full of food and wine we stayed till the end of the night in a great atmosphere and the drinks flowing. Massive thanks to steve and the team form me and Jen. Couldn t of asked for anymore from you guys.
Good service and staff very welcoming. Food very good.
Lovely food good service
Such a lovely Sunday roast
Beautiful location and fantastic food and drinks on offer
Friendly pub, can well recommend it.
It was very nice when we popped by one lunchtime, had a lovely dessert and were looking forward to being able to take the dog with us next time, outside seating was very nice.
Slight problem with the food but this was resolved quickly. The major problem was the lack of service and attention. Not told about the specials menu so missed out on full food choices, waitress didnt realise starter was unavailable, not offered any condiments, not asked how things were or if we needed anything. Not offered coffee or further drinks etc. and had to chase the bill so we could leave. Plenty of staff about but they seemed to be avoiding us after a complaint about a tough steak. A real shame as it looks like a nice place with lovely looking food but really let down by a lack of service from the staff. Disappointed.
Very spacious dining, outdoors or in. Good range of foods on a Sunday but best to pre book. Friendly, helpful staff plus a nice village for a walk about. Vivian Westwood shop just across the road.
Excellent food
Very friendly. Nicely situated business Nice fresh cooked meals.
Absolutely amazing food, definitely reccomended. Very friendly and polite staff. Will see you again thanks
Tasty food, Good service
A cracking little country pud, in a quintessentially English village! A fair selection of lagers and ales. A nice simple menu, but outstanding food. A good size beer garden with extra room out the front as well. If youre in the area pop in! Only 2 miles from the Nene Valley steam railway.
Been lots of times.over the years for lunch and food always good
Fantastic pub food with a delightful garden area, all at a reasonable price.
Lovely food.excellent beer. Great pub
A big thank you to all the staff at the Paper Mill, especially Markus. You all helped make our sons 16th birthday, a very special one and the food was beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Lovely meal & friendly staff Would definitely recommend
Really goos Sunday roast, the slow cooked lamb was amazing, good yorkiez and roasties and a nice side dish of cauliflower cheers to boot.
Staff and service were excellent. I had the burger which was average at best, followed by sticky toffee pudding which was delicious
Always a fabulous service would highly recommend.
Disappointed with the service. Food was tasty and nice to see homemade food like the onion rings which were delicious. Pub closed early without notice. Hadnt even offered us a pudding. Too busy clearing glasses away. At one point one of the ladies stood over me waiting for me to finish a drink so she could take the glass. The pub had 20+ people in when it decided to close. Yes it was hot and theyd had a tough day, but different provisions should be made when the pub is that full. Thought the lady was quite rude when she asked us to pay our bill. The home made food was refreshing, just wished the service matched the quality. They all seemed so keen to go home rather than serve people. Weve been supporting this industry throughout but they havent helped themselves or the industry. Not sure what theyll do this weekend when it is supposed to be record temperatures. Maybe they wont bother opening!visited 11th July 2022 @ 7.40ish
Lovely tasty food and very helpful staff. Highly reccomend
We had a very nice meal.
Stopped in for a great tasting two pints of London pride.
A lovely restaurant with great service, excellent food and good choice of drinks. Highly recommended!
Welcoming staff, good beer , would certainly drop in for a drink next time in the area
Found this pub by chance and its a gem. We had lunch there (Ceaser salad and the burger and both were great). Good choice of beer in a picturesque village. Recommend. Kid-friendliness: Didnt take kids but menu stressed how important younger customers were to them which I have never seen before.
Lovely cool pink after a hot walk.
Great food and good service. We thought it a little expensive at first, but the quality and taste was superb. We left satisfied and sated. Our dog was looked after, too!
Eaten here a few times never fails to impress
Expensive but not reassuringly so. Served by a barman chewing gum with a distinct air of disinterest . London prices in a normal pub that just happens to be in a village.
Helpful and friendly staff. Food definitely worth trying.
Very rude manageress should be sacked you need to get your drink and walk outside to go back into the garden costumer are not allowed to walk trough the restaurant to go into the back garden she refused to serve lunch when I questioned her about the silly rule she has done no favours to her employer lost at least judging for the price 60£ I will never use it or recommend this place to anyone
A pre walk coffee here. All good.
We were cii My brother and met him for a meal at the paper mill restaurant and had an excellent light lunch
Super fine dining at reasonable prices. We hadnt booked but still got in on a Friday evening. Loved it...
Food was delicious. Beer batter on my fish was light & crispy. Chicken pie had perfect pastry & was filled to the top.
Lovely village Setting good food Nice place to visit
Second time here in the past few months. Lovely service very friendly
It used to be good, but now theyre just happy to take your complaints and your money (I feel sorry for the waiting staff who have to take all the complaints). The confit duck leg was just a drumstick and not confit. The ink squid cracker that comes with the trout was hard and inedible whilst the whole dish was bathed in oil and totally lacked any seasoning. No compensation excpet a complimentary drink (which I couldnt have as I was driving) was offered for a £70 meal. I wont ever come back and would advise everyone to avoid.
Starters were ok but our mains were shocking. A confit duck leg was a drumstick. Under seasoned accompaniments. Shame. It used to be good and trying to support local business in this current climate of high bills and uncertainty. It was spat on by the manager and the chef tonight. It is hard when they rob you for the sake of it.£70 for a meal that we couldnt eat. Feel it for that lovely woman who took our complaint but it seems other diners tonight had the same issues. I wont be going again and I suggest you take yours elsewhere, at least somewhere where youre appreciated. I received a response. Its shocking. How hard is it to say youre sorry??? To be told that 4 other tables had the duck is such a lie. There were 3 tables dining at the time. One complained about a burger. A burger. Trust me. Ill never come to your establishment again. Ill make sure all associates stay away too! The lovely and honest waitress who took our complaints told us we werent the first. The lies you tell yourself wont help your business. Good to know that you again took the decision to blame a customer rather than admit your error. If four people ordered duck legs and got drumsticks and thought nothing of it, that says more about them than you thinking its good to serve. Keep going like this and Im sure itll go well for your place.
Great country pub sat in the beer garden for drinks at large family get together
Had a nice lunch. Not a lot of atmosphere, but decent food and very friendly service.
Was a great little stop from our journey back to London. Staff were very attentive, there was a nice garden room. Nice food, however slightly overpriced for what it was.
Gorgeous little place to visit for some really good food! Such a lovely place to go with friends and family. Always have such a good meal when visiting!
Excellent food
Anniversary meal with family. Very tasty food. Very hospitable. Would deffo come here again.
Great stop over after muddy walk along the river banks. Patio beer garden on sunny Autumn day with two wet dogs and 4 drinkers was ideal. Sunday lunch was fabulous. Can even have dogs in the stone floor bar, result. Good choice of draft beers and great bar team.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Sunday roast everything about it was excellent.
Great pub very friendly staff and food is great, we had bacon Brie and cranberry with the best chips,
Good customer service and kind man and very calm and peaceful
Beautiful food, and wonderful service from the staff!
Service was ok the the food was not up to scratch for the price. I had to complain about the fish and chips as it was so greasy I could not eat the batter only the fish on the inside and when I mentioned it, I got offered my drink to be taken off the bill which was a Diet Coke. My other half was also not impressed with his burger which he thought was over priced for what he got. I feel bad to complain as when we went for lunch a few months ago it was lovely.
Fantastic food Best service received including a smile and some lovely surroundings in a peaceful historical village of Wansford, will be returning in the near future with the whole family
Lovely great food but the star was Farita her service and welcome is just amazing star of the place .
Nice pub food, good about of specials and quick service.
Only had a drink but the food looked really nice. Garden is very nice.
Fantastic food, amazing staff
Great pub, with good ale
Nice Sunday lunch today. Freda is fantastic, friendly, attentive, on the ball with drinks making sure your always filled up. Other staff friendly too. Nice food.
Nice county pub
We were traveling on the A1 and wanted a pub atmosphere for a lunch stop, this place fit all our criteria-Food was very flavorful, service was attentive, prompt & our wait people were very friendly.
Really friendly service, excellent beer battered fish and chips and very good puds! Creme brulee wasnt what I expected but the flames made up for it.
Pretty average food, over priced for the quality of food and not the greatest of choice. Had a burger, was okay, but caramelised (sweetened) onions on top and base of brioche bun were overpowering and too much, plus not a very generous portion of fries. Others roast dinners were pretty good, but over priced. Staff okay, but a bit slow for the amount of covers in. Bar staff friendly and helpful. Interior fine, but a bit dated. Overall a bit disappointing, better places locally, with more choice and probably a bit cheaper.
Excellent food and service
