The Pin in Peterborough

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. We ve been going here for years. The quality of fresh ingredients is amazing and I have never had a bad meal. Quality of food remains consistent and delicious. We ve done high tea as well as lunch and dinner and had basically everything on the menu! Can t get enough! Atmosphere is so cute and the servers are so kind. Plan to be here for a few hours as the restaurant is set up for multiple courses, night caps and great conversations. You never feel rushed out! Love the pin! Dietary restrictions: They are amazing at changing or tweaking dishes to meet your needs like gluten or dairy free Kid-friendliness: Took my niece here for high tea! It was awesome

The Pin is the only place we really want to eat when travelling between Ottawa and Toronto. It s definitely worth the slight detour from the highway 7 speedway to relax and enjoy the great food. And if my brothers read this, HAVE THE BUTTER TARTS!

Hard 1. Our server was so rude. No hello or welcoming conversation at all. No small talk. If I knew this old fellas name I would put it in the review. Shocked at the price and the auto gratuity. We had 5 adults and a 3 and 4 year old. Why would you feel deserved of an 18% tip. Also very frustrated that we were served 6x Mother s Day tea servings. Tried to send one back as we had two small children. This guy wouldn t allow it. Absolutely horrible service. Sub par food. Dumpy old building with no parking.

First time and was blown away! Absolutely amazing place and food to die for! Chicken chiabetta sandwich and chocolate stout cake OMG so good! How did I not know about this place ???

Super expensive for what we had. $25 for Mac and cheese. Really?

Wonderful relaxed and cozy atmosphere with excellent meal choices. We will be back.

Great Sunday brunch

First time here, after wanting to go for so long. We went for brunch, and the food was fantastic! The brunch menu made it so difficult for me and my partner to pick something, as all of the options were equally as appealing. The drink menu was also extensive, with cocktails, teas, and other drinks to try. We ended up going with a smoked salmon Benedict on a crepe and a quiche Lorraine - no regrets! We will definitely return to try more items. The only sour note would be that we cut our stay short due to two guests in the same space as us that felt it appropriate to not only speak very loudly, but to cuss with nearly every sentence. It really ruined the date atmosphere for us. Will definitely return another time and cross my fingers that those two women wont be there next time!

My parents had their Valentine s dinner here. They said it was by far the best food they ve had! The whole restaurant is an experience. Excellent food, incredible staff, so clean and welcoming. I Highly recommend the Pin!

First time visiting our server was very attentive and the menu had great choices! Scottish wife enjoyed her scones and my eggs Benedict was great!

Lovely Rueben sandwhich nice and filling and the best tea anywhere. Would definitely go again. I wish they had cheesecake left but real impressed.

This was my first experience with high tea and I really loved everything about it. If i was a sweet tooth I would loved it even more but regardless I still loved the experience. For 33 dollars a person you get to choose a tea and the already set menu which included 2 raspberry scones, princess cake, raspberry cheesecake, buttertart, rich cheesy quiche, curry chicken croissant and a herb and garlic cream cheese cucumber sandwich. With this they also provided home made clotted cream and raspberry jam to go with the scones. Whoever was the chef did an amazing job, because the food was amazing and the scones and the curry chicken crossaints are to die for. As for the service, our waiter was sweet and helpful. He walked us through the menu and helped us with identifying the menu items. This is such a hidden gem in Peterborough, definetly check it out if youre in the area. Vegetarian options: I was told they are quiet flexible when it comes to allergies and vegetarian options as long as u call and let them know to prep. Parking: There is not much parking aside from the one street from across the pin which offered 1 hour of free parking.

Went this past weekend for a girls dinner. Food was amazing and service superb. A little off the beaten path gem!

My husband and I had dinner tonight at the Pin, our first time, it was absolutely delicious and so nicely displayed. We both love to cook, so it is hard to find a fine dining restaurant where the food surpasses our expectations. The Pin achieved that goal for us and our server was so accommodating, she helped make the evening perfect, even when we asked if we could move inside, as it was getting a little cool. There was no hesitation on her part, very personal and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and for sure will return. Mike and Lorraine

Amazing meal and experience every time Ive gone, soooo good.

This place is funny. Also, the best salad Ive ever had in my life. Im guessing theres like a berry-based sauce thats put on it. Soo good. The seafood crepe was actually GREAT as well but the portion is so small. I wish there was more because it costs $27 bruhhhhhhhh.

My friend raved about The Pin for months! I finally got the opportunity to eat here tonight. I started off with the Caesar salad. The bacon jam was mind blowing! Complemented the flavours of the salad perfectly. There were so many layers of flavour adding so many dimensions and putting a modern spin on an old classic. The steak with red wine butter, roasted veg and potatoes was cooked to perfection. The steak was juicy and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Once again, there was perfectly layered flavours that made my taste buds jump for joy. It ranks up there with some of the best steaks I have ever had! I finished with a cheesecake (gluten free) that was the perfect way to finish this meal. My friends had the duck Wellington and stuffed chicken. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meal. Our server was very friendly, personable and very attentive. He made our dining experience delightful! If you are looking for a wonderful evening out and awesome food I highly recommend the pin!

Went for brunch with friends so we could check out the location for a wedding shower event. We each ordered something different and everyone was very happy with their meal. Beautiful presentation. Wonderfully delicious. Reasonably priced. Server was friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. Not only did we decide to book the venue for the shower, we decided we would need to check this place out on a regular basis. Would very happily recommend this restaurant for brunch, and I cant help but assume that dinner and high tea will also be scrumptious. Ill let you know.

Nice setting, some of our party were happy with their orders but not all. Seafood crepe a bit soggy, boeuf bourgignon quite disappointingly bland.

My mom forgot to make a reservation and talked to Tristan who was absolutely stellar and the best customer service rep ever. Cant wait for our lunch there tomorrow.

Amazing high tea!!!

I chose The Pin for my birthday lunch and I m so glad I did. It was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the beef bourguignon which I d never had before. The flavours were incredible and the portion was generous. We all loved our waiter and we met the owner who was incredibly friendly as well. The atmosphere is very nice and the menu has many delicious looking options. I have to say that this is my new favourite restaurant. I can t wait to return!

Its fine, had a decent lunch but it was definitely overpriced. It was my frist time there and perhaps my hops had been inflated. The food was fine, atmosphere was meh (wallpaper doesnt help) and the tea biscuits had been frozen. Apparently the tone was very different than what once was.

Cocktails, apps, mains and dessert were amazing. Will be back soon, shocked I havent heard of this place before now

Delicious food, and attentive, efficient staff. The portions are satisfying but not overfilling. I would say theyre a bit on the small side as compared to other restaurants. My companions and I have been pleased with our food every time weve been here. They were also great in accommodating a child guest with an off-menu grilled cheese.

Had a high tea baby shower for my niece today at The Pin. Regular service ends at 1:30pm and then the space is available for events. We were a group of 12 and the way we were accommodated was amazing (a gift table was set up for us and extra space was cleared for party favours). From the time we were greeted to the end of the event, the service was absolutely amazing! The place settings are beautiful and parade of food coming out was an event in itself (very plentiful). A selection of delicious sandwiches, cakes, scones, tarts and quiche. This was my first high tea and it was a wonderful experience. I can t say enough good things about The Pin. Don t hesitate to book an event or a table. 5 stars for sure!

We had the most delicious lunch I ve had in a long time. Strawberries and chicken on a crepe was a creative and delicious combination. Everything about this restaurant is wonderful.

Wow. Phenomenal spot. Easily the best meal We ve had in Peterborough in years. Great service, amazing food.

The Pin used to be my favourite place to eat in Ptbo. Haven t been there for a while though. Can t believe how downhill it has gone. Building doesn t look well cared for and the chairs are a complete disaster and should immediately be replaced. They have no business charging those prices with that kind of decor . I noticed that the case for desserts was not full anymore and the whole place just felt different. We ordered and it took forever to get our food. I assume because there s only one person serving the whole restaurant -inside and out. I had asked for a tea and my teapot was completely empty and we still had not been served . I couldn t get more tea either as there was no sign of the server. By the time the person came back , we were already fairly annoyed. When the food finally came, it was ok but it certainly didn t meet the standard of past meals I have had there. I asked for a eggs Benny done medium and that came hard- it was basically two hard boiled eggs which I did not care for and my pan fried potatoes were pretty burnt and had a greasy taste. The hollandaise tasted good though. The waiter took quite some time getting around to asking us how we enjoyed it . However, by that time , I had decided that I would not come back so I didn t think there was any point in telling him about the eggs or the potatoes so I just said fine . this restaurant really needs to pull its socks up before it loses more of its loyal customers .

Situated in an old house it has a great ambience. Tristan, one two servers, was a force of nature. He remembers everyones name and flatters all the women (mainly an older crowd, myself included). Excellent food and good wine. I would go back.

This is a wonderful establishment! They are always so friendly! The customer service is amazing. They also have a great selection of food as well as teas and desserts! My favourite thing to get is the Reuben! It s a great size and tasted wonderful.

Went here for high tea with my daughter and her boyfriend. The food was delicious, the service was alright but certainly not worth the mandatory 18% that was required to be paid along with the entire meal when the reservation was made. High Tea with taxes and gratuity cost $44 per person. Very steep for the experience. We did have a nice time though.

Such great atmosphere here, Amazing place for people of all ages!! Men and women!! They have pulled pork sandwiches on pretzel buns!! Big Reuben sandwiches!! And much more, I can almost guarantee youll find something on the menu youll love!! Theres Mac bits and kids smash burgers for kids.. they offer high tea in the afternoon which is an amazing experience, and high tea is just something to hold you over till dinner so dont expect a big serving but its still plenty to eat and top notch food! I highly recommend you try this place out and see for yourself!

Seriously good food, great service and super chill atmosphere, at least on the patio. Highly recommend, they do an interesting twist on popular dishes and do it well. Prices are similar to the Keg, and worth every penny.

Came for High Tea and it was just lovely! Update: just had the seafood crepe and I teared up a bit it, it was so good. Our waitress was lovely. Tea was very nice (Madagascar almond). Even my side salad and biscuit was delicious.

Took my parents and their friends to The Pin for High Tea to celebrate a milestone birthday. The food was delicious, the service professional and attentive. It was a real treat!

Fabulous little spot! The food and drinks were both great. Visited for lunch on the porch with my mom and so happy we did. The venue is an old Victorian-era home and suits the menu and vibe of the spot perfectly. Will definitely return for brunch.

Excellent lunch, friendly and accommodates many. There were 18 of us ladies and still 2 rooms with other tables also a few tables on the veranda. Menu had many choices, I had Quiche with a fruite cup and tea biscuit. Enjoyed the Windsor Castle tea along with large butter tarte for dessert. Will return for sure!

A Friday evening dinner - we tried the risotto, the lamb, the steak and shared the amazing soup starter. The restaurant is charming in an old house. The service was excellent. The desserts were extremely fresh. We are all up for a return visit.

Tried it on Friday, liked it so much that I went back Saturday. Lovely place, I hope it gets busy to bursting in there because they deserve it. Everything we had was terrific. This included: - excellent Caesar salad - a Reuben that was the best sandwich Ive pretty much ever had - tea and buttermilk biscuits - a special (tacos) that were delicious even when reheated Waitstaff on both days were different but lovely people. Hope I get to try afternoon tea here one day. Highly recommended!!

This is a superb restaurant. The food is excellent, sophisticated in an unpretentious way. I had scallops in a cauliflower sauce as a starter and white fish with roasted fall veggies and fingerling potatoes. Both courses were fantastic. The prices were not as high as expected, so the meal was great value. The restaurant is in a heritage house just on the edge of downtown, so its quiet and relaxing. Service is excellent, and art work on display is a plus. The Pin definitely earns my five-star rating and strongest recommendation and I would go back any time for lunch or dinner.

We had High Tea, which was highly priced and too much food. Very tasty but we had to take some home. Would be better to serve less and charge less. $30 is steep for this meal. Wish we had just had a lunch which would have been more satisfying and affordable. Still a great place to eat though.

Best burger Ive had... ever? We tried the smash burger with the greek salad and the black bean burger with the warm beet salad. Both the burgers and salads were delicious. Even the buns were perfectly warm and buttery. The staff was great and respected social distancing too. I really couldnt recommend this place enough. (Unfortunately, because the burgers are big they got a little squished in the takeout boxes, so no nice photo... Get one yourself to see its glory)

My sister and I visited the PIN for their high tea last Saturday and it was amazing. Lots of choices of different teas to try and a beautiful delectable three tier tray of goodies. We were more than full when we left. Inside it is very quaint and I would highly recommend a small group a girl friends or sisters going for high tea, although their menu for lunch and dinner looks mouthwatering. It was a lovely experience and the owner is super friendly!

We are from out of town and stopped here for lunch. It is a great find! My husband really enjoyed his chicken sandwich. The staff are friendly and very accommodating.

Came here recently for the first time. Great service, delicious food and a very nice patio.

I was disappointed to see a lack of attention to the small details that I was used to here. A big one for me the refilled soap in the restroom, and another being that we were seated at a table with the wall air conditioner blowing directly on two of us and no option to change this ! The food was good and presented well.

Absolutely fabulous - I had curried chicken sandwich on whole wheat croissant. It was to die for.

Had lunch here today and my crepe was cold, lack of seafood in a rather soggy small crepe, more like an envelope, when I informed the waiter he heated in the microwave and the scallops were like bullets, sad to say, disappointed. We have been here when it was the Magic Rolling Pin and really enjoyed the expereience......will not return. The soup of the day was mediocre too

Wonderful pasta

Wonderful little tea room. Every aspect is meticulously well thought out and detailed. Staff are attentive and genuine. Lovely lunch menu and wide variety of teas available. Each pot of tea is served with a timer to ensure proper steeping. They were kind enough to fill 50 small jars with loose leaf tea for a bridal shower I was hosting. Above and beyond service.

Quaint charming elegant historical home where menu and service are exceptional. From lunch menu desserts to high tea you will be pleased and leave highly satisfied. I even pick up desserts for take away!

Not only was the food fancy, delicious and reasonable but the kids menu was short and incredible! For $8 my daughter got a fresh whole wheat croissant, 2 skewers full of cheese in big chunks and a cup full of really fresh fruit-the good stuff. It also came with a cup of juice AND a small ice cream topped with sprinkles, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was a really cute place with a jaw dropping selection of good tea, most meals were about $15, lots of desert and tasty gluten free options. The service was fast and friendly and they had a change table and short toilet!

Went for high tea here with my mother and sister. It was wonderful. Found service a little slow but they were busy at the time we were there. Plenty of tea options and the sandwiches, scones, and a variety of small desserts such as chocolate covered strawberry s, mini tarts, macaroons (with cream in middle). Great for lunch with the girls or mother daughter dates.

Afternoon tea perfect and fun

My mother-in-law and I had a great lunch here! The food and tea were absolutely delicious, and they had a real change table that I could use for my 3 month old son.

It s nice
