1289 Wharf St Bay Ridges, Pickering, ON L1W 1A2, Canada
Globally influenced American fare in a modern space with comfy booths & a patio with bay views.
An unexpected end of the road restaurant that boasts an elevated experience The servers were kind and attentive, as well as sultry knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious and shareable too. We went for a celebration lunch and everyone loved each and every plate presented. Thanks PORT for hosting
Best of the best, its been 5 years i never eat this much delicious seafood, it was perfect cooked and seasoned. I would give 100000 stars for the chef then the friendly team, shelly was serving our table she was so professional and patient with my questions 🙏🏻 highly recommended with break tacking view 🥇🥇🥇
The food was delicious, I particularly liked the jerk chicken and their twist on the fried calamari. I wish they were more generous with the portions. Although the patio was closed during our visit, the restaurant is right by the Frenchman’s Bay, it provides a good opportunity to explore it before or after dining.
Nice food, nice place, nice view. The burger is rich in juice and texture. The sauce of the fettuccine is tasty. The view from the outdoor seating is also wonderful. The attendants are friendly and diligent. You will not rue the day for traveling to and fro GTA and Pickering.
August 16, 2024 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently visited PORT for the first time, thanks to my girlfriend who took me there for my birthday. The restaurant is stunning, with a lovely atmosphere that's perfect for both family gatherings and business meals. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was outstanding. While the menu primarily caters to seafood enthusiasts, I found a pizza that caught my eye, and it did not disappoint. Every dish we ordered was beautifully presented. To top it off, I was surprised with a birthday brownie at the end of the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I definitely plan to return.
Had a great time with family at Port! I’ve been wanting to visit for a while and finally got the chance. The food was really good, and the location by the water created an amazing atmosphere. The free private parking was a nice perk, and the service and design of the restaurant were both impressive. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Is it a lovely restaurant by the water. We loved the patio despite it being sunny. The lakeshore and beach is a walking distance from the restaurant. All the food we ordered was really good. My favourite was bruschetta with three different flavours. I wish they had four pieces so that it was easier for us to share.
This place never disappoints! It has such a great atmosphere and the patio has a gorgeous view! The Truffle fries are delicious the Wild Mushroom Rigatoni is a must have & the Maple Bourbon Salmon is also super tasty! Sam was a great host, Thank you! :)
Lovely service, cozy ambience, tasty fresh food and fun cocktails. Excited to come back in patio season
Walked into the restaurant with doors propped wide open due to the air filled with smoke and only stayed because we thought it was temporary we were wrong. In fact it was off and on for our whole dinner. There was no explanation or apology by management for their issues. Now for the meal, the food is pretty overpriced for the quality of food you get. I am puzzled by all the positive reviews. The service was not very good either. Parking is also an issue. There are very few spots for the size of the restaurant and had to walk a pretty good distance for a suburban restaurant like this. I don t think I will return and definitely would not recommend this restaurant.
Food and cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere is beautiful! Definitely not cheap but was great at least!
Food was average but service was great
Had a great lunch. Highly recommend the burger and Ceasar salad.
2nd time at this lovely restaurant. Great service, awesome views, and very tasty food. I can comeback here anytime.
On 11/24/2024 my family went to the Port for dinner. The atmosphere was amazing, and the food was delicious.
Great atmosphere food not worth the price, but I guess customer are paying for the scenario
Port Restaurant in Pickering is a great spot! The atmosphere is nice, and the staff are super friendly. I had a great experience and would definitely visit again.
Great lunch at Port last week enjoying g the good food and amazing fall weather!
The food was like eating frozen box dinner, pizza was awful. Will NEVER go back.
I just wanted to send a huge thank you to Cassie, Brian, and all the staff at the port! We truly had an incredible time hosting our engagement party and have been hearing nothing but amazing things from all our family and friends. The food was amazing - constantly being passed around, the drinks were flowing - never a wait at the bar, the music was great and the staff were extremely helpful and I just want to say thank you for a flawless event!!
Very nice and friendly restaurant, great food and beautiful view Vegetarian options: Great Margherita pizza Food : 5/5 |
Beautiful view, the drinks were good. We got only some snacks I loved the fries however the calamari was very disappointing it felt like they just gave us the leftovers that no one wanted. Food
Great environment and atmosphere. Food is great and the service is better. Thank you Brian for accommodating me and my girlfriend. You rock! Will be back again.
This place is great for a nice evening out, or to celebrate a birthday, which is what we did for a friend. Food was good and the server was really nice and liked to joke with us while maintaining professionalism. I would go back here for sure.
Great food! Excellent quality!
Fabulous venue! Beautiful view right on the Lake Ontario. Peaceful ambiance. Fantastic menu. Excellent service. Kudos to Jackie our friendly and congenial server.
Why change a winning menu eh? We went back there for their deep-fried chicken burger n pasta alfredo but were told theyre history. There are other burger replacements, but theyre not really worth the drive there for.
Ports is lovely! Looking over the bay makes for a nice setting.
I recently dined at the Port restaurant with some girlfriends, and we were fortunate enough to have Denzell as our server. He was incredibly attentive throughout the evening, offering great suggestions on food items that did not disappoint. When a few accidental spills happened, Denzell handled them with ease and quickly brought back fresh cocktails to replace them, all with a kind and considerate attitude. His professionalism and friendly demeanor made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend Denzell for top-notch service!
Great improvement from a few years back. Food, cocktails, ambiance, 10/10! Thank you and see you soon again! Food
Had a great spot on the patio... Service was ok at best... Food was below my expectation... Being with close friends made the night. Parking: Parking was at a premium... Reservations definately recommended.
For the prices charged, the portions were quite small, the service was what you would get from a sports bar, and they charge $8 if you ask for water, they will automatically bring you stilled unless otherwise stated. My surf & turf was a 7oz steak, 2 shrimp and a single scallop for $49.00. The miso cod was $39.00 for a piece of cod and a whole intact sprout of Bok Choy. Our Brussels sprouts were 6 halves of Brussels for $16.00 We had a reservation for 7pm, and waited unattended at the front for about 6 minutes. Overall not what we expected for a restaurant of this caliber. Spend a small portion portion more and go to the Keg where they don t charge for water.
No well behaved dogs on patio? C mon Port, time to think about it.
Its a really nice restaurant. The food is fantastic, and the wines are delishious. Especially this one in the picture. This place is a must try.
As always the stunning view of the sunset doesnt let you even think about the fact that you overpaid for the regular quality food! The food is very normal, nothing special, but still in an acceptable quality, I cant say anything negative about their food either, other than there is some room for improvement. The service is OK, but the most important thing I regularly visit is not any of the above, but it is the fact that this restaurant has the best view of the sunset in the whole GTA. Definitely recommended.
Always amazing food and because it s close to the water, it s even better.
Staff was friendly and prompt.
My recent experience at Port Restaurant in Pickering on September 30th around 9 PM was disappointing, not because of the food, but due to how the manager handled an incident. A drink was spilled on me by the server, which she apologized for, and we accepted. However, only the cost of the spilled drink was deducted from the bill, which seemed minimal given the inconvenience. We asked the server to talk to the manager for a reasonable discount The real issue was the manager s response. Instead of addressing our concerns, he focused on his employee, asking, Why is my employee upset? At one point, he even offered to cover my laundry bill rather than provide a reasonable discount. His disregard for us as customers was unacceptable and showed a lack of professionalism. Port should ensure that its managers are better trained in customer service. This was a disappointing experience that I wouldn t expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
This is a great just int for a casual dining experience in the waterfront or a lovely date night before a stroll by the lake
Summer views are great on the patio...sorry winter is upon us soon You have to go. Food : 5/5
The food was really good, however there was a bit of a wait when we ordered a d then when the food came. I personally loved their bread pudding and will be going back for that. As for the atmosphere, overall I like that the restaurant is by the water, however parking can be an issue depending on the time you go. So to my ladies in your heels, be warned. Street parking is close by but its still a walk in heels. There were a few bees in the window as I was eating and they took a while to clear the table behind us. Nearly 30 minutes had passed. The restaurant was not packed so I am not certain why it took that long. Overall though, its a great date night or brunch spot. Parking: Street parking can be free depending on how long you are there for and the time of day. Parking at the restaurant can be limited at times.
The service and speed of delivery were stellar for sure. I ordered the Veal Stroganoff. For a $42 dollar plate I was disappointed at (1) the proportion of meat to the pasta - 6 oz. (2) the meat was dry and overcooked (3) the flavours were not there - the dish is definitely no worth the price of the plate. For $42 at the Keg you can get an absolutely brilliant steak. A tender, properly cooked veal steak cut with more authentic flavours consistent with this famous Russian dish would easily make this a 5-star.
Amazing food. Staff is great. Took care of our birthday desert. Will def be back to try more of that delish food!!!
*** Not dog friendly *** Wouldn t let me and my dog on the patio for lunch, so I didn t eat there. :-( They say only service animals but my dog is very well behaved, I bring him everywhere and I m sure many other good dogs and their owners have been rejected as well.
Omg! The vibe, the food, the service here, all so amazing! Must go place
Amazing restaurant
Great spot by the lake. Service was amazing, finally a crew who deserves to be tipped. Food very tasty. Not a cheap restaurant but definitely you are getting what you paid
We ( group of 4) ate at Port tonight; Big Mistake!! Should have stuck to The Keg . App : calamari 2/5, Baratta 2/5, coconut shrimp 2/5 . Wine $130 Cab Sav . Crap!!. Dinner , lamb brochette tough unseasoned Mutton 0/5 they should be ashamed to serve that Lamb/Goat . Short rib , not short rib , they used a cheaper cut and disguise. Desert , not creame brûlée, not cheese cake . Overall food score 2/5 . Overpriced crap!!! They should be ashamed to charge $$$$ for this crappy food . Owners/chef should taste food .
Very nice seating, enjoyed the food the service the atmosphere, recommend it for sure
Lovely lunch spot! Lunch was great and the price was reasonable. Only downside was the parking situation, the lot isn t very big and their overflow is a dirt/grassy gravel uneven lot across the street.
Food and service are lacking, this place has so much potential since it s and amazing location but the food quality is not on par with the prices ! But the patio is great! Parking is free
All I can say is not impressed. First time coming to the restaurant. It took us almost 20 mins to get our drinks, the wine glass had lipstick on it and the food was definitely nothing exciting. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we arrived so not sure why it took so long to get our drinks. The mushroom pasta dish was almost like pasta with canned cream of mushroom soup. The fried chicken sandwich was ok. It was over fried for sure. Server was nice. Atmosphere was so so. It was not that busy but there were a lot of fruit flies. $14 for a plate of truffle fries. That is insane. Not a memorable experience. Not sure if I truly would recommend. Truly disappointed as I was looking forward to this place. Don t forget to follow me!!
Been here a couple times and the service was amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was great too. Definitely would come back again :)
This was the perfect spot to celebrate a milestone birthday. We split the Coconut Shrimp appy, and had the Chicken Avocado Club and the Veal Parmigiana as our mains. Service was excellent and the food truly delicious. The Warm Chocolate cake arrived with a sparkler to top off our meal. We decided this was one of our stand-out meals in recent times, and we can t wait to return.
Have sent several emails and left messages for someone to call us back in regards to booking a group event. No response whatsoever.
THE FOOD WAS PRETTY GOOD. NO MUSSELS THOUGH. THERE ARE SO MANY BEES AND BUGS AT OUR TABLE WE SRE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. MY SURVIVAL INSTINCTS CAME IN HANDY.
Great food Great portions Great service Great ambience Food : 5/5 |
Id been looking so forward to it and was very disappointed by the food. The country pate was bland and under seasoned with a soggy chutney than seemed like a pile of boiled blackberries. Eggplant risotto featured under cooked eggplant and tasted of basically just pepper. Chicken and cornbread were both over cooked and very dry. The slaw with the chicken was great. Presentation on all of the dishes was sloppy and both of the hot dishes were barely warm. The location and the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. It would be a perfect spot to have a drink.
Both my Fiancee and I have been trying for months to get in touch with someone to book a large dinner for next year. Both of us have emailed through the website twice, we stopped in to look around and someone said theyd get a manager but after we walked back in from the patio no one was to be seen and I even called and left a message with someone who said a manager would call me back. Im sure the new owner wouldnt be too happy about losing out on a 30 person dinner but a lot of reviews lately make it seem like were better off
The food and service was good. But the patio was great
The ambience is great, the food was good , but too less of a quantity for a smain course. Paid 34$ for such a small quantity. The lady who took our order was very pleasant but the receptionist could have been more pleasant. Vegetarian options: Non meat, fish options available Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian options were available
A lovely sunset view over the water, while dining on delicious and well prepared menu offerings. The food was well prepared and executed; steak was cooked perfectly to desired finish and the sides to the mains were very noteworthy and equally delicious. The dishes have very good harmony and I highly recommend the braised beef. The desserts are as mouth watering as the mains-- must try the caramel brulee and the tiramisu..you wont be dissapointed.
First, this place has an amazing ambience and atmosphere. The location is picturesque and watching the sunset on the patio is well worth the visit. Unfortunately, whatever has changed with this place, it is no longer a shining dining experience that it once was. The food is lacklustre. The flavours are what you can get anywhere. The presentation is non existent. The prices are expensive for what it is. Though, at half the price, I d probably still not come back.
Highly recommend, relaxing atmosphere, good service, food so yummy
Patio season all day everyday still as we soaked up all of this summer weather Lunching on the patio at @portrestaurant by the waterfront Lovely vibes & good food with waterfront views. Cappuccino Wine Burger Prawns #portrestaurant #pickering #waterfront #waterfrontdining #patioseason #torontopatio #wineallday
Excellent place, I received that I paid. Service, good food, good portions, cordiality, excellent location, high class restaurant. Definitely Ill be there again.
Great location and view
Cute place with amazing views around and a lovely patio. Food was great wish there were some more vegetarian options. The chocolate cake is a must try!
This is place is a must visit, the food, the lake views and customer service are simply outstanding. We did a work event last night and had the best time. Brian, one of the managers made our visit even more enjoyable! Food : 5/5
Had a wonderful experience the first time and even more wonderful experience the second time. Welcoming atmosphere, beautiful ambiance, and lovely staff. Brian is an absolute gem, he goes above and beyond! I will definitely be back! 12/10 would recommend!
A beautiful spot on the harbour. Gorgeous windows overlooking the water. The food was good - service a bit slow but they were busy. Recommend a walk on the waterfront afterwards.
My friends and I had a great time dining here. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The music made the experience more enjoyable for us as well as the fast service. Brian one of the managers has amazing customer service and made us feel very welcomed and made the night even better ! Would really recommend !
Horrible, awful , gross .
UPDATE: Summertime visit... on the patio... perfect weather, perfect lunch. Food, service and atmosphere were all great. Will definitely visit again. We went for a family dinner wanting good food, good service and a cozy atmosphere. All our criteria were passed with flying colors, with a mention to the food which was excellent. From the Salmon dish to the Filet Mignon steak, everything was literally cooked to perfection, even for our picky tastes. We will definitely visit again and we wholeheartedly recommended this restaurant.
Always great food, good service and its a lovely spot to watch the sunset over the lake.
The food was ok, not amazing. My favourite part was the sorbet we had for dessert. Nonetheless the space and atmosphere were great, and our waitress was very attentive.
Friendly atmosphere and great food. Friendly staff. Parking: Parking is a nightmare! Very few slots. Food : 5/5 |
Great food, atmosphere and service. It is so lovely by the water!
We came here for my mom s 65th birthday. Had not been in a while but was blown away with the food and service! Thank you to the team for taking care of our family!
Perfect stop for some appetizers and a cold beer on a great summer afternoon. Try the truffle fries or their oven pizza. The best.
Amazing spot with waterfront views! Highly recommend the pizza! Food
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH!! We booked Port for our wedding reception this year and it was our collective favourite decision in all of our wedding planning! To this day we are still getting compliments from friends/family on the how delicious the food was, the overall ambiance in the restaurant, the sunset by the water, the swans in the backdrop and the incredible service that Port s dream team delivered! Cassie & Kait are the backbone of Port AND our wedding. They were so willing to curate anything we needed for our day, including setup, menu, etc. Everyone was extremely kind and we can t recommend them enough!! We absolutely love Port and it will be our special place in our hearts, and will be our anniversary spot!
Celebrated my daughters birthday at The Port. The view from the patio overlooking the marina and lake Ontario was the perfect ambiance for dinner. Service this evening was attentive and on point. The food, both in presentation and taste, was delightful. Perfect place to gather with family, friends or date night. Highly recommend.
Lovely place, the food was good, the service was great.
Had a dinner outside this past week and the food was tasty, but a tad expensive compared to other restaurants of the same caliper. The pizza was priced decent, but the salads & appetizers could have been more quantity for the price it cost. A simple caesar salad for $20 with no bacon seems high and calamari for $22 when the plate was half filled too. The service was the best of the evening with just the right amount of checking on us while we ate. The server filled our glasses as it was hot outside during our time there. That brings me to the atmosphere outside on the patio could have way better airflow as it was extremely stale. One fan, but that was at the server desk not for patrons. The siding around the outside seating area was glass but was sealed so no wind could pass through. The inside was quite cool with air conditioning while on your way to the washrooms. One note to the owners is to have two working faucets in both the men and women washrooms as this should be the type of issue to fix for the cost that everyone is paying to eat here.
Great place for beautiful weather. Food was fantastic and the staff super accomodating.
I was excited to share with our daughters about this place mentioned to us by a friend. Seemed like such a beautiful place. Disappointed with their experience. They went today and 2 of 4 guests found hairs in their food. The server offered to change only part of the food, the part with hair. They were charged 50% for each plate, and server made it sound like her manager was doing them a favor!
The food was average, and the service was unprofessional, failing to create a memorable experience while dining at the restaurant. The staff could benefit from additional training in customer service to improve their interaction with guest.
After being assured we would receive a table in the dining room because I need a quieter area, they put us in the bar. We were on time and they still gave away our table. Maybe they have their favourite customers? It s like they were trying to corral everyone in the back. I reserved several weeks in advance. Very off-putting. Also, be aware the jerk chicken portion is tiny. The snow crab, lamb skewers, and maple salmon were very good though. The butter that came with the crab seemed diluted. Our server was great.
Loved the patio, great food!
Great location. Good food. Mosquitoes were rather bad on the patio once the sun went down.
Great food, great service , and an outstanding patio. The food and service are always excellent. The highlight of visiting Port for me is sitting on the patio overlooking the bay. It s more expensive than some of the other local restaurants but the food is delicious and service great. Highly recommend for a nice lunch or dinner.
Reno d since our last time here 6 years ago - was a regular spot for us, new owner since the pretentious prior. Venue nice, service good, foods okay, over priced give it 1-2 years. Linguine seafood pasta, I seriously almost asked - do you bring the linguine on a separate plate? The pizza was more like a ring with topping, center was so thin it was mush and fell apart. kitchen requires some work.
Came here for my birthday dinner meal. Ordered the seafood linguine, which at $38+tax seemed like a terrible value for the meal. Only four shrimp and two scallop in a relatively small amount of pasta. My wife noticed her pasta dish was about the same portion size as our child s pasta meal (a cost difference of about $20 and a couple veggies). Service was lackluster - slow, not enthusiastic and we had to ask several times for stuff (water, Parmesan for the pasta, the child s dessert, the bill, etc). It s a nice atmosphere on the waterfront but not really great value for your meal. Kid-friendliness: There s a kids menu with about four options. Dessert is included.
Service was sweet as is the atmosphere here. With a view of the harbour, light music and screens of sports, all make for a pleasant evening with or without conversation. Food was a little salty for my tasting but wonderful and tasty nonetheless. All servers were delightful from entry however as a group of 5 adults, a table for 6 wouldve been better suited than a table for 4 with a chair added to the top. A wonderful last meal with family before travelling back to the UK
Great food. Great atmosphere.
Lovely gem on the water! Outdoor patio is a must!
Great pizza, cold beer, nice atmosphere and good service. Really nice experience.
A pleasant surprise! I ve seen this restaurant a few times before but finally decided to give it a try. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!!! In addition to the excellent service and nice atmosphere .the food was GREAT! You MUST order the Red pepper spinach dip and truffle fries both were heavenly
So disappointed that one of our favourite Pickering restaurants has gone so downhill. We unfortunately made the mistake of ordering our appetizers before our mains, and were forgotten about; we had to flag our server down to remind them that we had not ordered or meals after roughly 25 minutes of waiting. Not to mention, our food took so long to come (7:30pm reservation, still waiting for food at 9pm), that we just asked them to pack it all as takeout. The portions are not worth their value - the sandwich (pictured) was $25 with a side salad, and the size of the sandwich looks like it is missing a half. The pizza was tasty but had no truffle flavour though it was in the menu item s name. That said, our server removed our appetizer due to delays which we appreciated. Overall a really sad way to celebrate my father s retirement. Unfortunate to see such a beautiful restaurant be lacking in their service.
I recently dined at Port, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I had hoped for. The main disappointment was the snow crab (summer menu). It was clearly old and overcooked, making it tough and almost inedible. Returned a full cluster. Given the quality of the dish, I expected some form of acknowledgment from the restaurant. On a positive note, our server was fantastic (Ryan) attentive, friendly, and quick to address our needs. However, despite the servers excellent service, it would have been a nice gesture for the restaurant to comp our dessert as a small compensation for the disappointing main course. Overall, the service was the only redeeming part of the meal, but the subpar food quality made it an experience I wouldnt be eager to repeat.
Thanks to Tyler the host who gave us a fantastic table for our anniversary dinner and got us off to a great start, and thanks to Natalia our server for being so cheerful and welcoming and going above and beyond (we struggled to finish the huge piece of warm chocolate cake she brought us!) The beautiful view of the water and the swans really topped off a memorable evening. A great discovery!
This place has so much potential! It has a beautifully designed space and a gorgeous view of the Frenchman s bay waterfront. If you re just looking for a pretty spot to be by the water this is a great choice! In terms of food, I always leave feeling a bit underwhelmed. The pizzas are okay with nice flavour and the braised beef used to be the star of the show but really there s no outstanding dish on the menu. The brussel sprouts are worth ordering along with the friend chicken sandwhich but everything else is just meh. Staff however are exceptionally friendly and welcoming so I m hoping to see some refreshing changes to the menu in the new year.
Caitlyn (hope I am spelling her name right) made our anniversary dinner great as her humour and service was top notch. The truffle fries were suggested by many people so we decided to get that and it did not disappoint. The seafood fettuccine was flavourful, but there were too few pieces of shrimp and scallops to justify that price. The braised short rib was quite enjoyable. I would have given an overall rating of 3/5 but Caitlyn made it worthwhile as she also gave cake and Prosecco for our celebration.
Horrible service, won t accommodate for larger party of people, won t split the a Party into two. Do not recommend if you have more people. Food
They refused to seat us on the patio. We had 9 people. They said they can only seat 6 and wouldnt give us 2 tables/reservations even though we are 2 separate families. Probably because we had 4 children. Absolutely inexcusable.
Excellent food, service, and very friendly staff. Great place to have food and friends !
First order: pizza - Pizza oven not working Second attempt: Spinach salad (see pic) terrible Third (and final) attempt: Caesar salad which came with 10 small pre-packaged croutons (I counted them) - blah Service was minimal at best. Manager was shocked at my spinach salad presentation but there was no compensation or apology for poor food experience. Very disappointing. Ive patronized Port on more than one occasion, but never had such a bad experience. Vegetarian options: very limited other than salad or pizza.
I wanted to try Port after hearing about it from friends for over a year now. Finally went yesterday for our Wedding anniversary and Port did not disappoint. I love the water front scene, the place was clean and friendly and service was good. I will definitely be back with more family and friends.
Great food
I got the poke bowl. It was very bland. Service was a bit slow too but atmosphere was nice Parking: No parking had to park on the road and walk in
If your at the Freshman Bay area.. looking for a place to dine.
The whole experience was really good. The food was good (We got the LAMB BROCHETTES and the JERK CHICKEN). The lamb was a bit chewy, other than that food was good. The view is spectacular especially the outside seating.
I wish I could rate CERO. Horrible experience, disgusting food, extremely OVERPRICED! They charge for the view and location. Paid $182 for a dinner WE DIDNT EAT AT ALL!!!! We started with calamari, took forever, okay, arrived, and it was literally 6 little rectangular pieces, no tentacles, no rings, nothing. More than half the plate was empty! $22 for 6 rectangle mini pieces of squad? Really? Not even a simple nice presentation? Okay, no problem! We waited 3 days to get a reservation, so we were still positive with our mains! It has to be good, right?. Well, no, it wasnt! It took them 1 FULL HOUR to deliver our main plates, that wait was horrendous (remember we eat 3 pieces of mini calamari each), but even worse was the food. OVERCOOKED PIECE OF LOBSTER with hardly 4 or 5 pieces of grilled veggies?! Whaaaaat? $66 dollars for that? I really wanted to cry! I was hungry, angry, dissatisfied, and frustrated. My husband got burned and impossible to cut with the knife lamb brochettes with again 5 pieces of grilled veggies. PORT, you are a scam!!. And the worst part of it, your server didnt ask how the food was, why we were not eating, didnt offer to make things better, NOTHING! we left the plates as they were served to us, and all she said was: do you want a box?. No! I will never dine here again, $200 after, and have to come back home to put a frozen pizza in the over at 9 pm. I hope his place close, its a total scam!!
Worst food and service, I have ever had!
While everything else is ok, I just can t get over this $22 calamari.
Great views, good food but being charged $8 for water that is usually complimentary in most restaurants made me feel like there should ve been a leaf game being played on the bay, kinda soured the whole experience, very cheap of that restaurant, the old owners never would ve charged for water.
I absolutely loved this place! The outdoor view was simply amazing, and the service was top-notch. The food was incredible - the calamari was cooked to perfection, and the Tex Mex pizza was mouthwateringly delicious, topped with flavorful chorizo. Plus, they offer convenient parking and wheelchair accessibility. Overall, a fantastic experience! Best restaurant to visit in the summer with a view in Pickering!
Amazing place with interesting lake side views. The food is good and service is fast. Went there for dinner and it went really well, as the vibe of the place is very chill and relaxing. Can spend time there on a date. Vegetarian options: There are many options to chose from for vegetarian meal choices. Parking: Parking is available on the spot.
Its an awesome place with the warmest of staff and the yummy food and the out of the world scenes 5* all the way
Wonderful service and great meal. Our favourite dish was the spinach dip! It rained so we dined inside but I will come back to enjoy the patio dining!
Very poor experience at this restaurant. We were a group of 7 people, a few from out of town. We were looking for a nice restaurant, a good meal and great an experience, to our surprise, we didn t get any of that. Our first drinks took an hour to arrive to the table, appetizers took an hour and twenty minutes, main course took 2 hours and 15 minutes, some of the people didn t even get a second drink. I m in my mid forties, this by far top three worst dinning experiences of my life. We paid a bill of over $500, we would ve spent more money if they had any service available. Don t ruin your night by going to this establishment.
Very beautiful and great service. Food was delicious.
Went with few friends to the restaurant. Arrived at 8:15PM for reservation. After we were seated the hostess took drinks order. It took about 40 mins to receive our drinks. Took another two hours before our meals were served. The food arrived cold and for some not what they d ordered. Quite disappointing for a restaurant at such a beautiful location.
Great food and excellent service. The staff was very attentive and courteous. There was a problem with one of the dishes we ordered, but the staff was very professional and diligent about correcting it. We will definitely come again.
Nice atmosphere, nice people, good food. Cant complain!
PORT offers a stunning lakeside setting, perfect for special occasions. The menu features expertly crafted dishes, from fresh seafood platters to perfectly cooked filet mignon. The ambiance, coupled with exceptional service and breathtaking views, makes it an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended for a memorable evening. Parking: Plenty of spots
A breathtaking location. The food is sumptuous and the right portions. Service is par excellence. We arrived a tad late but we were never rushed to finish our meals. Also a great location for events. Andrew was a gracious host.
We were warmly greeted, offered a table with a stunning view, had some amazing cocktails, and our meals were awesome! Plenty to eat, finely prepared and delicious. We would highly recommend visiting this restaurant!!!!
Service was slow, but who really cares when you are sitting lake side enjoying a delicious glass of wine and great company. Food was delicious and there was several options on the menu. Parking: Parking spots are narrow, and the lot is tight. I went on a Thursday afternoon, the lot was full.
The garlic butter shrimp dish was amazing. We ordered a second one. Truffle fries were crispy and hot. The chocolate dessert with cherry compote was delicious. Not too sweet. Our server, Renee was excellent. Great suggestions and attentive but not too much. Perfect time.
Great atmosphere and good food . Went there for my wedding anniversary. Service was excellent. Server was prompt and suggested their best dishes and drinks to us . I would highly recommend the truffle fries and jalapeño margarita! Kid-friendliness: High chair and kids menu available
Food and service was great, very limited parking
Burger was very special. Server was very nice.
Awesome food, summery atmosphere! Stunning drinks ( coastal vibe)
Denise hands down is one of the best servers that we have had in my entire life!! The service here is amazing the staff here is amazing! The food here is amazing! Our server took a selfie.... with us thats how amazing the service was! Love her. I will be booking my birthday here and coming back and requesting Denise specifically! Love you girl thank you so much!
Made a reservation but asked for the patio as it is first come first serve. We had a party of 8 and we weren t allowed to sit with our family (told this was policy). Got eye rolls and laughs from some of the staff/hosts but they then proceeded to let us know we are being billed as a family and it s auto grat 20%. Mind you, tipping wasn t an issue. If we re not allowed to be seated as a party why must we be charged as such? The food didn t even come out at the same time. Our server was great (Sophia), awesome lady and she made up for the weird vibes but the overall experience was VERY unwelcoming (servers staring) .
Love the patio!!! It was beautiful. Service was great. Food and drinks were great too.
Exceptional.
Waitresses were racist and did not welcome people of color and the bill was pre-charged with 20% tip
Went to celebrate a bday for my son. Food was great and so was the service. Everyone had a good time. Food : 5/5
The view will make the food taste better! Chicken sandwich was good and the chocolate brownie was good!
Vegetarian options: Available options Parking: 2hr time restrictions in evening Food : 5/5 |
Excellent food and service!
We had a fantastic ladies night yesterday for my aunts birthday, two generations enjoying time together. The older generation is a bit harder to impress when we go out, but Port staff and kitchen did a great job in helping cater to their tastes. We ordered drinks, bruschetta, truffle fries, Brussels sprouts, coconut shrimp and mains, and most of us had the creme brulee for dessert. A few things I heard from the group that Ill mention - the coconut shrimp could use more coconut as the co-star, as most had trouble finding that flavor. They we expecting the creme brulee to be warm, so it was a bit disappointing - but the flavor was on point. Everyone seemed quite happy with their mains - I ordered the gumbo which was fantastic. Good depth of flavor and the shrimp and andouille sausage were done perfectly. My aunt with the birthday was wondering where her cake was, but then it showed up with a sparkler on top and we all sang to her :) thank you to the wait staff for that added touch - she loved it and said the cake was delicious. We also had a lovely young woman take our group picture on the patio before we left. Staff were each lovely and patient with our group, giving lots of time for us to order and dine and enjoy each others company. Thank you Port! Pictured- bruschetta, gumbo, and happy aunt with her chocolate birthday cake.
Wow! What a great establishment with a great pizza. Service could have been a little better as my pizza sat there for a good 5 minutes after I told the servers three times that my food is ready. Other than that everything is good. Stunning patio. Stunning view nice quiet by the lake establishment
Cream brulee was out of the world.
Crabcake Sandwich!
The Manager said: Sorry, no Indians
Food was amazing! Great Service! Will definitely revisit again!
Nice place for couples and families. We had a chicken avocado sandwich and a ribeye sandwich which were good.
The fact that this restaurant has the audacity to charge an automatic 20% tip, then ask for another 20-40% tip while paying is awful . The food was good but I will never go back.
Very odd experience. We arrived and were promptly seated on the patio and brought waters. Then we sat for about 10 minutes unattended. We had to flag down a server who quickly took our order. We received apologies by three people which was nice....but during dinner we were left unattended again. Werent asked if we enjoyed or if we wanted another drink. Server came back at the end of our meal and did not offer a takeout box right away. Food was good. Place is beautiful. Great vibe. They did mention it was busy and there were mixups in communication. Not sure if this was a one off.
What an amazing restaurant right by the lake. You can park your boat and get right in. Food is great and the server was very helpful.
Pizza oven not working (on Fathers Day no less!!) so had to order spinach salad (Im a vegetarian). Spinach salad was sent back because there was only a thimble full of goat cheese and 3/4s of a strawberry + 2 nuts. Im actually surprised the server brought it to the table. Sent it back right away. The only other option (3rd time lucky?) was a somewhat small Caesar salad with 10 packaged croutons (not even home made). To top it off, nothing was complimentary or discounted. Sorry to say I wont be back anytime soon! Beautiful waterfront seating, but day was spoiled by incompetency in the kitchen! Vegetarian options: very poor. Do not eat here if you are a vegetarian. The only options are 1 pasta and 2 salads!
This place is beautiful but some things to watch out for. We booked this a month in advance, but there isnt an option for the patio (the main reason to come here), so its first-come-first-served. We had to wait for a table but they were very nice about it. Wide food selection. Very good but not amazing, but youre here for the view. The area around the restaurant is also great for a walk on a nice day.
Great service and atmosphere. Friendly environment with a breathtaking view. I ordered the Maple Salmon. The portion is very very small for $40. Kid size. Not worth it. My girlfriend had more food from the sandwiches section. So she gave me half. Other than that, we had a great experience. Food
A little loud, but the food was excellent
Good food in a gorgeous atmosphere! Service is great as well.
I ve been here a few time the menu is always changing but the food is always pretty good the patio is great in the summer being so close to the water the staff is friendly and accommodating
Food is great, a bit pricy though. Its a loud place due to ceiling architecture.
I go here for the phenomenal views of the marina and atmosphere. The food here has always been pricey and just ok. Also, they really need to change up the dessert menu and offer more choices. Parking: When its busy the limited parking is full and you need to find street parking and walk to the restaurant.
