Spicy Dragon in Pickering

If theres a place that couldnt care less about quality taste and service well this is your spot . The chilly chicken was dry cooked in old oil no flavor felt like I was chewing cardboard. The noodles were slapped together no love in the cooking . The beef broccoli was sloppy and tasteless.

The dish was satisfactory, although quite spicy. I enjoyed the fish and shrimp, and the shrimp fried rice was also excellent.

we ve got their lunch specials for takeout for years, and really like our regular dishes (for the price) - curry chicken, chili chicken, etc. but food is often inconsistent; tried the mixed vegetable dish and it was inedible. some of the veggies tasted SOUR, really concerning. will reconsider returning again. I only order 1 thing from here during the lunch rush. Ive never had an issue with the food. There isnt much in the way of hospitality but the food is enjoyable enough. The bathroom needs to be cleaned more frequently.

Raised prices and raised the 10% off cash threshold to $30 minimum spend. Avoid this place, the food is not this good to warrant the new costs.

I called in to place a big order today and the lady that was taking my order was very rude and was shouting at me because my order was too big. She was saying she s busy and do not have time to waste. She even put down the phone as I was still placing the order and I could hear her screaming in the background that my order too long. I was ordering for several co workers. Very bad customer service . Will not order from here again after the bad experience I had. Because of her lack of customer service they lost my business and others too.

Although not the same quality and taste as a few others in Scarborough, this is the closest to a decent hakka place in Durham! Their fried rice, although to some may seem basic, is so good, and definitely give their chili chicken a try, which I like dry. The food could be a bit more spicy.

The worst meal I ever had in my life! I ordered the special lunch, originally shrimps with noodles but it also had beef (I think it was beef) which was disgusting, greasy and a taste I couldnt recognize. Noodles had the taste of burned oil, used oil all day long cooking. My stomach is burning and thankfully I didnt eat all of it. Rest went in the garbage. Do not bust your stomach with grisly, gloppy, withered, rubbery, and curdled food. I have no idea how I can digest what I ate. Either way, you get what you pay for!

Bad customer service. Lady working the cash was no help with explaining the menu. She acted as if we were inconveniencing her. Even though there were no other customers in line. Considering a paying customer is what keeps places in business they should show more appreciation and have someone who can speak fluent English and has good customer service skills working the front.

Food is always good and fast! The dude at the counter who runs the phone is also very friendly. Bombay chicken and Manchurian veg noodles is my go to.

Mall Chinese food is 10 times better than this if you like chicken fried rice and spring rolls I recommend that is the only thing you get from this place. The chicken balls are all dough the wings were caked in batter the chicken wontons were just greasy fried sheets of wonton maybe the tiniest piece of chicken in some black pepper steak was thick salty sauce with no real taste. Honestly the food served at district lounge is way better than this. Never again.

RUN DON T WALK!!! The food is so gross, it s unbelievable. I wish zero stars was an option. Manchurian chicken was gross and the sauce did not taste like Manchurian flavour at all. If you want good food, you can likely go anywhere else but here.

The people were nice. However the food is quite horrendous. Youre better off going to Pacific market which is a grocery store and buying their hot food instead. Crispy beef - not crispy, and its more batter than beef. Its very thin, like noodles, but I think thats because batter stays like that when put in the fryer Cantonese chow mein - not enough sauce. And the sauce itself was bland. Honey garlic chicken - it didnt even taste like honey garlic of any sort My favourite dish here is probably the steam rice. The service was great though!

Very bad service.We ordered jumbo shrimp and they gave us battered shrimp. Ill never order this place again. We spoke to the owner his name is David. No discount for the mistake or compensation very rude. We order over $120.00. I dont think the owner cares about customers he only care about $.

Food has unfortunately gone way down no dine in anymore. You can however stay and eat in the disposable container the provide and you will need to throw out your own garbage. Between the down grade to the food and the No dine in option I have to say they ll probably never see me again. Not worth the price hike for subpar food and less service.

Honestly they use to be so fresh and give good quantity in the portion size but Inhave bought the lunch special a couple times now and it is not good very tough meat and barley anything

The Kennedy location is much better. We got 3 chilli chickens, 2 dry and one gravy. One of the dry was delicious. The other two were missing salt. Rice was okay. Noodles were bland. Got ginger beef as well, one of the orders was excellent and the other lacked salt and was bland.

I think the food is delicious and the portions are big! It has been a regular go to for me and my hubby for many years now. We used to go to the Kennedy and Lawrence location and recently started going to the one in Pickering. The quality is consistent.

This is the worst food I have ever tried . Its full of un-natural food color.This much color should not be used. Atleast could have ignored the color if taste would have been different. But the food taste s like nothing. Nothing no taste.

It was my favorite place for good (hot) spicy food. The hot and sour soup and the Spicy Dragon breaded shrimp are sooooo good. Would have given 5 stars, but they aren t open for dine in. It s too far for me to order take out, too cold by time I get home. Disappointing, not likely to get there anytime soon until dine in reopens (?)

Cheap and decently good haka style food. But not as spicy as the name suggests. Update: the quality of the food has detiorated since COVID. The taste is bland and no longer appetizing. I would no longer recommend this place which is disappointing because they used to be fairly good.

I been here before great food, friendly and food doesnt take too long. Tried some bombay chicken and it was delicious just wish it was a bit more crispy, but it was probably because it was in the container for about 30 minutes before I opened it. But goid food good service.

The food used to be good over the years so I m not sure what is happening now. Last week I ordered mixed vegetables and Cantonese chow mein. Everything was drowning in an excessive amount of sauce making the vegetables and noodles very soggy. This was truly disappointing as I was looking forward to a good meal. Breaded shrimps in the chow mein were so wrinkled and soggy . Who wants to eat soggy food? Certainly not me!

Good Haka Chinese options. Meats are Halal. They offer extra discount on cash. Good taste. House special beef and chili chicken dry are good. Manchurian chowmein is good.

That have very affordable and tasty meal. I enjoyed the food.

I love the food, the price is reasonable and portion is good for the price. My only complaint is that when I call their Pickering location to place a takeaway order, its a long wait for them to pick the phone. I once called their Scarborough location to ask if the other phone was faulty. Last attempt I made multiple calls within half an hr and we decided to skip the plan as i was unable to place an order. The surprising fact is that they are not that busy for a week day evening ! If not for this, I wud hv given 5 stars

Delicious Hakka food at a very reasonable price. The Chili Chicken with Egg Fried Rice lunch special is a favorite of mine and my colleagues, served dry without the gravy for a superior fried chicken experience. Portion sizes are great as well.

If there was a zero or -1 rating,I would be using it. Worst food ever. Got the Sweet N Sour Fish and Cantonese Chow Mein. Chow Mein has shrimp and chicken, well there were 2 shrimps which looked spoilt and stale chicken. The fish dish had more batter than fish. Not sure how they are still in business. There should be a food inspection check on this place. Into the garbage they go. A waste of money.

Try to stay away from this disgusting place. The employees are trash and don t even know proper customer service. They don t check orders and just charge random amounts to customers. They have a group of men that work in the kitchen that laugh and make fun of the customers, little did they know my friend understood their language and once I mentioned that they shut up. They charged me $95 for a $20 order then when I asked for the manager they proceeded to go to the back while laughing saying no one here haha . So disgusting to know this is how they treat their customers, these are the same type of people that would contaminate peoples food. Stay far away. Disgusting.

Worst Indian style Hakka. So much food colour in it and was so tasteless

This place was ok when we first moved to pickering a year ago. Then Covid happened and we havent eaten it since... ordered 2 orders veggie noodles tonight. Never ordering again. Theyre so stingy on the veggies, the couple pieces of broccoli we got were practically raw lol. This place might have been good back in the day, but the few times weve oredered - went from mediocre to straight garbage.

I have never experienced a bad meal so far. Chicken Piccora is yummy and the spring rolls are hand made and very yummy.

During a pandemic we are all nervous about ordering takeout but also want to support local businesses.. so you d think they would care a little more about what they give their customers. This is what I found in my chicken chow mein- doesn t look like chicken to me. I m so disappointed and I stopped eating all together.

Their Spicy Dragon Chicken is one of the tastiest, most flavorful chicken dishes I have every tried, anywhere in the world! My friend who moved from Toronto to Singapore, dreams about Dragon Chicken every day...even though he is at one of the biggest food cities in the world. Yes the customer service is not the best, I personally had a fight with their staff years ago...but I keep going back because the food is just that great! Do yourself a favour and try their Spicy Dragon Chicken...ask for extra spicy if you dare!

Terrible service! Received a call 5 mins before pick up time to state the price of our order had changed and was increased. There was no apologies on behalf of the restaurant for doing this. Although we confirmed our order three times to ensure the amount and what we were ordering was correct, we were told by the man at the front desk that it was a normal practice at their location as they always make human errors with orders?!?!!! Never ordering from here again!

I d stay away from anything Manchurian , was very bright and deep red but didn t blow my face off and was really bland. Genuinely puzzled by that one. Noodle dishes were stingy on the meats. Its been a while since Ive eaten food from Spicy Dragon. Their Indian style Hakka Chinese food is usually very flavourful, with a little bit of spicy heat. Here, I had the Manchurian Beef lunch special. It was only $7.00 for a very generous serving. It is usually very flavourful but this time it was lacking some seasoning, even salt. It wasnt terrible but just not as good as usual. Maybe next time.

Tasteless fried rice. I ordered Shrimp&Chicken fried rice, I got 3 tiney shrimp and 4 small pieces of boild chicken. As a chef I wouldnt recommend any of theres Fried rice. Sorry for the negative review.

Nice little place for a quick lunch. Hakka Chinese food. The portions are large and the price are very reasonable. The food is very tasty as well. We had dine-in and the place is very clean and customer service is good. Sorry I only took picture of the hot and sour soup, we were too hungry and attacked the food as soon as it was set down.

It was fine. Chilli chicken wasnt as great as some of the other places - mostly fried chicken with a few onions, fried rice was on the pill side and the chicken in the chicken corn soup was rubbery and bland.

Visited today for lunch. Cons : ordered the Cantonese chow mein which comes with squid, chicken and shrimp. It was mostly filled with onions and cabbage and was very bland. Pros: main guy at the cash was very friendly and polite. There seemed to be a lot of regulars who he knew by name-this was nice to see Neither pro nor con: there is no dine in service but you can order takeout and then sit with that at one of the tables. Took off 3 stars for the taste of my dish. I would go back to try something different.

Fried rice okay. Spicy dragon shrimp okay, not tasty. Chilli shrimp okay when just cooked, has a freshwater taste more pronounced that the spicy dragon shrimp, its unappealing. The freshwater taste intensifies for left overs, some people wont be able to eat it at that point. Whatever chicken dishes uninspiring, just meat meets sauce kinda story. Their food was better when they started a few years ago, would be ok to save the trip into Toronto, now it seems not worth visiting. I give credit their portions sizes have remained the same.

Basic Chinese food restaurant. Definitely not fine dining, but staff are friendly, prices are reasonable, servings are large, and service is fast. I normally would not give five star to such a restaurant, but Ive ordered from the Spicy Dragon for a few years and they have never disappointed me. However, I would suggest ordering take-out since the restaurant seating area is not very attractive (acceptable, but not attractive).

We frequently order our Hakka food from this place. We have never been disappointed. Their food has immense flavour and the portions are outstanding. Tonight we ordered their crispy beef which we never had before. It was absolutely delicious. If you havent tried it, it is a must. Thank you Spicy Dragon for another excellent meal.

My goto is chilli chicken and it s amazing every time. My goto for Hakka has been Spicy for almost 5 years now.

No seasoning, no flavor. The food looks the part but the flavors are lacking. This may be by choice. Pls change this.
