780 Kingston Rd #6, Pickering, ON L1V 0C5, Canada
Warm, stone-walled BBQ eatery serving platters of beef, chicken & pork, plus classic sides.
We got a pig out platter for our group of 6 and i’d say it was the perfect amount of food for us! The sandwich was very juicy and the perfect amount of sauciness. I would definitely recommend everything that we had gotten! Not to mention the workers were very nice and welcoming and made the dining experience a whole lot better!
I recently tried Pig Out BBQ as a friend had recommended it. We ordered the pig out platter for takeout. I have to say, the portions are HUGE, definitely worth the price! The platter came with a good variety of meats, and everything was packed well, so nothing was cold by the time I got home. The pulled pork was flavorful, and the ribs had a nice smoky taste, though I could’ve used a little more sauce on the side. Overall, it’s a great spot for a hearty meal, and I’ll definitely be back to try more items from the menu. If you're looking for generous portions and solid BBQ, this place delivers!
The food portions are not good. That’s my order of sweet potato fries and the brisket was half just pure fat. The brisket was awful, no flavour whatsoever. Anything else we got is just doused in sauce but no actual seasonings. Really disappointing. Took 35 minutes as well for a walk in order, we watched someone come in after us, order, get his food, sit and eat it, and left before we got out 2 orders. I get making stuff fresh, but it wasn’t and not good. Wish they would have said up front what the wait was before we ordered cause we wouldn’t have waited that long for this. Staff was friendly otherwise, just not a good chain for food. Won’t be going back
The food was amazing here. We had the rib sandwich with fries. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely return next time I'm in the area.
On Friday night, my boyfriend will always stop by pig out before he comes over so we can enjoy a nice meal and I never really had an issue. Always enjoy the ribs but lately I find that the quality slowly slowly going down. It’s very sad. and on this day, he also ordered me my usual Caesar salad and to be honest the picture says it all.
It's an excellent place to visit with great service. It was my first time at this restaurant, and the lovely hostess took the time to explain the menu. The service was super fast, and the chicken wings were the biggest I've ever seen at a restaurant. They don't sell beer, but they have a variety of sodas. However, you can't sit in the window section because it's a little disorganized due to the pieces of wood under the table.
12/10 – Highly Recommend! On our recent road trip to Port Hope, we stopped in Pickering at Pig Out – a hidden gem that we won’t soon forget! The entire experience was fantastic. Our server was kind and friendly, checking in regularly to ensure we were well taken care of. The chef was equally impressive, making an unforgettable meal that truly hit the spot for us. We ordered the Jr. Pig Out Plate, which included pickles and coleslaw, a half rack of ribs, 1 lb of wings, a choice of 8oz pork or beef brisket (we went with beef), and two sides (we opted for fries and cornbread). The ribs were soft and saucy. The chicken wings were crispy and a good size. The portion of the platter was perfect, and it was enough to feed our group of four. We're already talking about going back and trying other items on their menu. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favour and stop by Pig Out – you won’t regret it! Always have daily specials , their wings are top notch. Honey garlic sauce is very good either on ribs or on wings . Sometimes you get the dryer pieces on the ribs but it’s still worth it , sandwiches are so filling ! Good place to dine in . Their brisket is very good , I love their brisket sandwich . Staff is helpful.went back for Sunday specials full rack of ribs only $24.95 and rib sandwich with fries $10.95 had the ribs with sweet sauce added the Mac and cheese side . And the rib sandwich was with honey garlic sauce . Both were really juicy and fall off the bone ! They were near perfect. I absolutely enjoyed every bite . We did not leave any meat behind ! The Mac and cheese was so delicious. And fries with great with the malt vinegar. Thanks to the staff the are not only helpful but very courteous and friendly.
Just had their special- Mac and cheese truffle... Sooooo delicious. Great comfort food. Would definitely order again. Never disappointed at Pig out. Friendly staff and great food!
Really enjoy the sauces here in particular. Their pulled pork is delicious. I recommend going in person.
We dined in at Pig Out on Sunday evening and loved it. The server was knowledgeable and helpful. The food, Pig Out Platter, was amazing and the portions were of so much value. We loved how the presentations looked too. Definitely coming back
We had the 4x4 and some mac n cheese and it was amazing! Our server and the chef did a great job. Coming back again someday!
We had a family dinner at Pig Out in Pickering. We got the pig out platter and portions were big and everyone enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend!
The food is so good! The flavour was very on-point and I couldnt have asked for a better rack of ribs! Will definitely come back for that mac and cheese and the pulled pork sandwich!
Very good food and service
Fantastic service and food
Great BBQ with tender, flavorful meats and delicious sides. The pulled pork was melt-in-your-mouth, and the ribs were perfectly cooked. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit for any BBQ lover!
Ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and it was amazing. Meat was tender, sweet sauce was sooo good! I ll be back soon.
The food is wonderful and the customer service is amazing
Not only did they have great service, they also had great food. I ordered a 4 rib dinner with cornbread and it was out of this world 10/10 I would eat here again
Went in for dine in today. The food and service was great. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy with all the Christmas decorations, great place to come dine in with kids!
Great service. Good onion rings. Would go again!
4/10 not that great
The girl named Janvi is just awesome, she gave great suggestions
The service is fantastic and the area is a great spot to come. Since I had never been to this place before, the friendly hostess took the time to go over the menu with me. The beef brisket at the restaurant was best Ive ever had and the service was incredibly quick. A variety of sodas are available.
I recently devoured the most epic food combo from Pig Out BBQ and its pulled pork is pulling me back for more! The Mac N Cheese mixed with pulled pork is something that I don t think I ve ever indulged before but these guys do it right! Thanks to the craftsmanship within the kitchen and the wonderful service up front, Pig Out BBQ is my number 1 spot for anything pork!
Before I skip to dessert let s just say the food was so good, we got the pig out platter to try everything, so much food good price the sides are fire and now let s just say that banana bread pudding is bonkers I was absolutely stuffed and had to finish it, my belly so happy rn
I had a luncheon with friends and this was our halfway point for choosing a restaurant. We needed something that was off Hwy 401 in Pickering. Boy, I m so glad I chose this place. The food is excellent. Price is $15-25 per person (meal and drink). Not bad. We all had different meals and all were excellent. I d go here again. Kid-friendliness: Yes, kids wouldn t be a problem here.
The bbq smoke had too much uickory, overpowering the pork ribs. The brisket was overly fatty. They put on excessive bbq sauce to hide the average cook on the meat. Their fries were subpar, lacking in crispiness and flavorless. Dietary restrictions: They were unable to offer a dairy free option for salad dressing.
The Pig Out Team was fantastic. I highly recommend for catering. They put together a large order last minute. They made it easy and made sure I wasnt forgetting anything for the special day. Everyone at the party commented on how delicious the food was and couldnt get enough. Huge shout out to the team and thank you very much for pulling all this together in such short notice.
Have been going there for years, the food is great and the portions are a good size Parking: Plenty of spots in the plaza
The perfect spot for some down south comfort food! The portions are huge and food is savory. The corn bread is delicious! Also, great customer service with many promos to save a few dollars.
Pickering best smoked brisket, ribs and wings! Food was very tasty and above all the portions are awesome
We went by on Sunday afternoon for lunch and left so full that we could barely have dinner that night. My rib sandwich and fries was huuuuge and a total deal as a daily special. I especially loved the sauce (combo smoky and spicy). The pro move is to get your spouse to order the beans so you can use your fries to dip them into the sauce. Service was a bit slow, but with only one person there, you could see him hustling. Hes doing all the order-taking, delivering the meals, answering our endless questions, and constantly checking in. Overall, it was delicious with friendly service.
Great food and very friendly and patient staff!
From Georgia / Tennessee. Best pig and brisket north of the Mason Dixon line.
Best mac & cheese, bbq chicken is super delicious. my go to comfort food spot every time
Been ordering from here for years. Love the food! Staff are amazing too! Lots of Gluten Free Options as well.
So I ordered through skip; I ordered pork tacos and an Oreo cheesecake. When the order arrived, the meat in the tacos were ice cold; as if they just plopped it in the taco without heating the pulled pork up on the grill or oven. Also, the Oreo cheesecake is not an Oreo cheesecake lol it s a small slice of (the best I can compare it to is the pc cheesecake from the grocery store) with chocolate drizzle over top of it. It also had like a fridge taste to it and the back end of the cheesecake had formed a type of hard crust on the cheese part of it and was stale. Had I known that this was not an actual Oreo cheesecake and a store bought one, I wouldn t have ordered it, it was $9.99 the same price as a whole pc cheesecake; there wasn t even any Oreos wth
Great BBQ restaurant I really enjoy the pulled pork sandwich on a fresh Kiaser bun and the beef tacos and cant beat the price for the quality. Anyone looking for a good BBQ restaurant try this place out Food
The little guy at the front is very nice and responsive but the food is awful , chicken was dry riblets were chewy and the brisket was a chunk of lard the macaroni and cheese was ok but nothing was like it used to be a couple years ago in this place I strongly believe it all sits around till it s ordered then microwave just by the textures and how dry the chicken was especially. It could sand doors or start a fire if u rubbed two pieces together . Overpriced wood
Im super disgusted!!! I ordered the 9 rib dinner today at opening along side 2 other dinners. When I was eating the mac and cheese as the side dish you could tell it wasnt fresh... it was cold and had maggots in it! I dont even know what to say. Myself and my child ate this! Would never recommend ever Im in complete and utter shock! Ew I hope we dont get worms or worse from this. Zero out of 5 stars!
Went in for take out. Ordered the Pig Out Platter, which gives a little bit of everything. Everything was amazing. Will grab take again.
Pig Out had a table set up at the bottom of Liverpool on Canada Day. Pulled pork sliders were ordered and service was great. Wow....dont know what to say except it was the worst pulled pork thing I was ever served. I was really excited about the food considering they were advertising their appearance on the Food Network. Pig Outs pulled pork sliders were like eating a nest of pork jerky strings, on a bun with bbq sauce. Dry, leathery and inedible. The coleslaw was ok but the pickles were soggy and sour. The server made the mistake of asking me how they were. Got an earful about quality of food. So sorry, she says. Pork is supposed to be their thing. Glad we didnt try the ribs. I should have suspected garbage food because there was no line up. The only positive was the service.
Brisket was delish! But food took 40 mins and it wasnt that busy
Amazing experience and delicious food! My go to bbq spot in Durham!
Every time Ive been to this place - its delivered almost every time. One thing I think they could improve on is the mac and cheese (maybe add breadcrumbs on top for texture). But meats, sauces and fries are always solid. Service is great. Portions are good and prices are fair.
Ordered beef brisket with fries using uber eats arrived cold it was disgusting never will I order from here again also mac and cheese was cold disappointing
I love this place. I love the brisket mac and cheese.
Sad to say this was my 1st time here after a friend said she had been there before but: my boneless rib sandwich was hard and dry(thank goodness l had my water so l didnt choke); my sweet potato fries for $6 were scarce but placed in a container where the dipping sauce was placed on one half and the fries barely filled up the other half; the pickle was limp; the coleslaw was watery; service was 50 minutes from the time we got in there til the time we left and others were waiting long periods as well; 3 tables hadnt been cleared or cleaned while we were waiting; the cashier (kindly) who was mainly dealing with money didnt think twice about grabbing 2 glasses (for a table of 2 that had asked for water) without washing or sanitizing her hands (but the full 4L jug of sanitizer was right next to her) and she wasnt holding them from the bottoms but rather the tops of the glasses (very unsanitary). I will not be returning to this restaurant unless management or ownership changes hands and only if reviews after that speak of improvement in all areas! Parking: Free parking right in front is available
Very bad service in the town. Front staff told me to wait for 5 mins and after I was literally waiting for 45 min over there. When I asked her twice she answered me very rudely and she was not understanding. They prioritized dine in customer and make take out customers awaited. literally worst experience
It s fire cuhhhhh
Absolutely delicious and very friendly service. Date night with my guy in a very comfortable atmosphere! Definitely recommend eating here!
fantastic service and food! the girl at the front was so kind and patient. Im usually not a BBQ person but it tasted wonderful. the garpar wings though wasnt my favourite.... but the riblets and beef was delish.
The food came fresh to order and the service is lovely. Pleasantly surprised by how good the salad and wings are the ribs were okay so I world recommend the riblets over them. But for what you re paying it s great value!!
One of my favorite places to go when I want good bbq.
The Mrs. and I tried Pig Out BBQ in Pickering for the first time and we will definitely be bad. The meal was awesome and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
Amazing food and great customer service
Excellent spot for ribs. Im not a ribs guy, but this place was exceptional! I will be coming back for sure.
First time ordering and will NEVER order from here again. The wings tasted and smelled awful. The fries were clearly old and microwaved Very soggy, they are not prepared fresh. The reviews are misleading, should not be over 4 stars for this low quality food!
Honestly one of the best meal I had in my life . The Mac & cheese beef and the pork are to die for !!! Amazing service , the owner is very helpful and very kind . We will definitely come back !!!
Fries over cooked, brisket sandwich had 4 solid bites of pure fat. Felt unwell following this 50$ couples lunch
First time visiting here. Everything was good. The food, the service, the atmosphere were good. Will definitely be back
Really enjoyed the spicy boneless ribs on a bun. The man behind the counter was pleasant and the ambience was decent. On and the price was good..Id go back when Im out that way.
I would say this has to be the best BBQ spot around! The chicken, beef brisket and Mac and cheese were all amazing! I recommend this restaurant for everyone as they have a variety of items to choose from and they re all delicious! Definitely going to be a regular here!
Food is awesome love the pulled pork sandwich the best in Ontario for sure.
Visited Pig Out for a friends gathering and was pleased with their accommodation of our party of 10. The interior exuded an American home BBQ vibe, complete with rustic wood accents. The service was good, with our server guiding us through the menu and assisting with orders. Opted for the Jr. Pig Out, featuring a half rack of ribs, 1 lb of wings, 8oz brisket, and cornbread and fries as sides. Absolutely delicious and savoury, couldnt get enough! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic American BBQ.
We love pig out! The food is so so so tasty, and the service is top-notch. What stood out during our most recent dining experience with them was their exceptional customer service. When we encountered an issue with our Uber order, the staff went above and beyond to help us, even offering to deliver the food to us themselves. Their kindness and problem solving skills were truly appreciated! Really yummy food!!! Try the riblets!!!
Great service. Real tasty food. If youre on your way out of Toronto I recommend trying it out
I ordered over the phone. It was a pick up order. I have had BBQ from other places and its hit and miss with all of them. These guys are in the middle. They were not bad, but it didnt really stand out either. The food was under seasoned. There was absolutely no smokey flavour, no bark or crust on the brisket. The ribs were kinda sweet and essentially flavorless. I am giving them an optimistic 3 stars in hopes they will read this and make some changes to their flavours. The best thing I ate from the platter was the wings with the Carolina sauce. The rest was underwhelming.
This restaurant has really gone downhill. It s as though they don t even care anymore. I ordered a brisket sandwich and fries through Uber Eats and it was delivered quickly but the food quality was poor. The brisket was dry and tough without much BBQ sauce on it. The fries were dark brown, almost black, and overcooked to the point of being crunchy, as though they d been in the fryer way too long. The food was inedible. I won t make this mistake again.
Our first order from Pig out BBQ and it is delicious. We would definitely order again. Thanks! We recommend your restaurant!
Respectfully, order through uber. Ribs were great. Moist and fall off tge bone. Mac and cheese good. Coleslaw good. The fries were horrible. The fries looked and tasted like they were deep fried yesterday morning and sat in a bucket all night. Dry, rubbery and over cooked. Stale. Garbage fries. Not fit to eat..thrown in the garbage.
Best bbq in pickering bar none. Amazing food, great menu and service....these guys really know their stuff!! I love this place...pure and simple the best!!!!
Found a bone in my boneless rib sandwich.. could ve broken a tooth
Got the Beef brisket poutine (sweet-Smokey sauce). It was delicious and fresh with good meat portions. Cashier was very nice and attentive as well, Explaining menu options and giving recommendations while we decided what to order. Would visit again!
I see a drastic drop in the quality of the food
1st timer. There is enough on the menu to make it difficult on what to have. 6 of us so we all had something different. I had the platter with 2 ribs, 4 wings and the brisket. Came with coleslaw, pickle and a side. Each dinner was more than enough food to have a full meal. The brisket was soft, ribs and wings amazing. Overall, great service from when we entered to when we left. Great value for price. Will definately try again and recommend. The Chicken wrap and poutine wrap looked delicious and were also enjoyed at the table. 5 stars well deserved
We found this place looking somewhere to stop for lunch. Absolutely delicious!!! Perfect amount of sweet and heat
Nothing special. Ordered the pig out burger and fries with Mac and cheese on the side. Meat was overcooked, brisket was okay. Really only good thing was the bbq sauce on the burger. Fries looked old, and were a little soggy. Not worth the money, wont be ordering from here again.
Overpriced. 1 star food. dont waste your time lol
Got a pop and a sweet small sweet brisket sandwich sandwich which was a bit spicy for 15 bucks. I was still hungry. You do get a small pickle wedge and slaw, not a fan. Wont be back.
Tasty but pricey. Try the mac and cheese!
Went in for the first time after hearing about this place from a bunch of friends and after seeing them on the food network! Boy was it worth it.. ribs were out of this world, the brisket was so tender and the pulled pork was so nice and moist even without the sauce! This place has a ton of options and we had their pigout platter with my family. Everything was cooked to perfection! The gentleman who took my order was extremely helpful in helping us choose the right platter and he had so much patience with us! all in all the food was FANTASTIC and the staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming! I would recommend this place and can t wait to be back to test out some more options!
Great food, great service. Never a long wait and they always remember their customers very homely feeling. Thanks Pig Out Pickering
Excellent customer service, and best beef brisket I ve had in a long time. I recommend highly.
Im a regular customer for some time now and the taste never changes....always good....treat your tastbuds Parking: Parking lot is large get in where you fit in Kid-friendliness: They welcome all ages...plenty of dining space
Staff was friendly, service was perfect. I had been to the Spadina location previously and when I moved to Pickering noticed there was a location here as well. I must say although the Spadina locations food was good, this location was even better! Can tell they really care about their food quality, 100% would go again and recommend!
Best pull pork poutine at a reasonable price also excellent customer service.
Delicious pulled pork sandwich Monday special fries are the best in town! Parking: Easy to find and lots of parking.
My wife and I love to have Pig Out BBQ as our payday treat. Amazing staff/owners, and the food is fantastic.
The wings and fries were very tasty and delicious.
Nice, clean, local restaurant. Friendly staff, good food, overall a nice dining out location.
This place has the best beef brisket sandwich ever ! I order. Few times a week until I had to take a break ! But for two months or so I ordered the pulled pork Sammy and the brisket. Its a must try!! They have two locations that I know of. One at Bathurst in Toronto and Pickering on Kingston road.
Food was terrible tasting. Staff was friendly.
Not a very good experience. Ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and the 1/4 white chicken, online. The website said the sandwich came with chicken and bacon but it was just the sandwich and chicken. The fries looked old and soggy. Looked like they were prepared way earlier than I ordered. The 1/4 chicken was okay compared to the sandwich and fries but did not have a lot of flavour. NOT GOING BACK AGAIN.
Probably the worst Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich I ve had. When you order a Nashville, you expect a standard of quality with the chicken. This was tiny, thin and was not crispy. Texture tasted like a cheap frozen meat. Sauce was mediocre, and way too much mayo which made it very soggy. This was a big disappointment.
The platters are pretty good value in my opinion. A lot of variety of BBQ meats and a couple sides. Very satisfying.
Great menu with lots of options. The staff was very friendly and hardworking! The Chicken Caesar wrap was amazing! Definitely worth going to this restaurant. Food : 5/5
Delicious and generous. Kind people
Pig out is hit or miss. Sometimes the food is amazing and sometimes it tastes like it was in a fridge and then reheated. Their sauce is really good (I prefer the sweet/hot) on my ribs. We ordered a jr platter last time and the brisket was a chunk of fat and the wings were hard and barely edible so we had just the ribs and cornbread which were meh..... . Ive had good food from here in the past, but maybe quality is going down now.
Staff there were very friendly and nice but my boneless rib sandwich, the meat was a bit dry and the sauce was too sweet. But my husbands tacos were so delicious It was a perfect balance of meat & veggies and the meat was so juicy! Definitely recommend! The high chairs they have are very sticky so put our daughter in the chair with halfmoon back support.
Its not bad but I wouldnt eat there again.
Everything tasted fresh and delicious
Ordered food for a party and it was excellent. Shar provided the best customer service and patiently recommended a menu and quantities to perfectly suit the number of people attending. It was delivered on time by a fabulous staff member who was so courteous. I highly recommend the ribs, chicken wings and beef brisket. All were delicious and the party was a great success! Thank you to everyone at Pig Out BBQ! We will be back for more!
We ordered this for the first time and it was absolutely horrendous. The sandwich was dry. Meat dry. Bread dry. I would never return.
OK, I used to come here from Oshawa a few years ago several times a week. Ribfest is in town and I cant afford it so I brought my wife here. I think management has changed. Maybe food costs going up have affected things. We order the same thing. Brisket isnt sliced its a diced mixture now and quite fatty. Combos are not combos they are just the individual things put together at the same price. Pulled pork was dry. Service was polite enough, place was clean but the garbages in the bathroom were overflowing. We were the 1st ones there so that is unlikely from that day. The dirty diaper was a nice touch. Was kind of a shame, and maybe just an off start. But its far enough we wont be returning.
The beef brisket was excellent! And the pig platter is a must try! I would definitely eat here again next time Im on vacation!
For a bbq place, it was good but the atmosphere was where it could of been better. They were featured in You got to eat here , so I was expecting a bit more. Onion rings were great. Loved the beef brisket and pulled pork. Not sure how I felt about the chicken wings or ribs tbh.
We went for a homemade burger and potato salad. The food was ok. The potato salad had no salt... The burgers vary from $8.95 to $12.95. We spent $35 with tips for 2 burgers and a drink. Food
Good portions were good size, taste of food was overall delicious, restaurant and bathrooms were very clean, dining chairs were comfortable. If we were in the area again our family would come back.
Our meats were a bit dry. The only one that was juicy was the brisket so I recommend taking that along with their mac n cheese. Very affordable for the quality and quantity. Food
Had a wonderful time. Great food, friendly service generous portions. Food was top notch. Will be back again.
Im kind of sad. I had a hankering for their pulled pork sandwich. I used to eat here often. Was amazing. I havent been here since before the pandemic and decided to come here today for a pulled pork sandwich. Pork, was kind of tough and the flavor wasnt how it used to be. Coleslaw is great. Fries are home cut and great....I ordered the corn bread which used to be amazing. Today it was dry and had a taste like it sat in my grandfathers 1979 impala in the sun for a week. I told the guy at the counter and he just said he would look into it. Did t even offer a refund for the corn bread. Sorry guys. You blew it. You lost me and my wife as customers.
We were visiting Pickering for a sporting event after googling you gotta eat here, Pickering Pig Out BBQ came up as a near unanimous choice and for good reason, the staff were super helpful helping and explaining to us the various options which are plentiful and the portions were bountiful, we selected the Pig Out Plater which was more than enough for three we ended taking a good size portion home, which then yielded three snack and a bit I consider that to be super value. The food was great, good taste and bbq d to perfection. Lots of in house made sides as well potato salad, coleslaw, fries most of the items are gluten free by nature any, although it is not a gluten free restaurant the only item missing was Hush Puppies there is lots of free parking, tv playing news and sports, entering and exiting the plaza lot is a bit tricky, but way worth it. Tooth picks are also provided in the salt and pepper caddy . Two thumbs up Dietary restrictions: Many of the items were gluten free, by nature. Parking: Entering and exiting the lot was a bit tricky.
Disgusting onions rings! Burnt and greasy! Cook at home
I ordered the beef brisket Mac and cheese and it was DELICIOUS!. Lots of brisket and loads of cheese in the Mac. I also got the ribs they were nice and soft with delicious bbq sauce choices. The fries were even amazing with the gravy. I ordered from Uber eats and I was blown away with this place and how amazing it taste! I will definitely be ordering again.
Wasnt bad food
Pig Out BBQ has been on our bucketlist for a while, and finally popped in for takeout today! We ordered to share: Pulled Pork Sandwich Small Fries Piglet Platter (with 2 ribs, 4 garlic parm wings, brisket, sweet BBQ sauce, and a small side of Mac & Cheese) Small Coleslaw The portions were huge and we had plenty of leftovers after our meal. The meat was juicy and the BBQ sauce was perfectly sweet. We were blown away with how big the small sides were (a lot bigger than we expected or have seen from competitors that also offer southern BBQ). Food was also quick (Takeout took about 15 mins for all this food). Will be back in the future!
....unfortunately my advice is to save your money and time. Once again, after a long break from this place, I decided to try it again yesterday, under the new owners. Nope. $42 for an overcooked dry rib sandwich served on a cold Wonderbread type bun, a container less than half full of overpriced sweet potato fries and 2 slices of brisket, ya no thanks. Worst part? I actually returned to the restaurant (went back out to get a burger at Wendys next door because I tossed my dry leather rib sandwich) to discuss the issues I encountered politely, I really just wanted to try and make my failed purchase right. Nope...nothing. So, here we are. Sorry folks but I have no idea how they have the rating they do, food STILL misses the mark and the prices are far to high for anything they serve. Again, dont waste your money or time.
Good bbq.
The daily specials are a good way to order if you cant decide on what you want. The wings, ribs, pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese were all great picks.
Great staff, delicious food and fair prices! They provide a lot of value in their meals and daily specials are always my go to! The beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches are top notch!
Always friendly customer service. Food is delicious and has good portions for the cost.
Popped in for a bite to try some BBQ. I tried the piglet platter, which came with 4 wings and 2 ribs, I chose brisket instead of pork and had a side of Mac n cheese. The price was amazing and the food was delicious. The staff was super friendly and polite and helpful with choice selections. Thank you! Had to get to go containers for all the extras.
Not even close to being the best BBQ in Durham or the GTA. Pig Out BBQ needs to work on creating authentic BBQ, as opposed to serving the lackluster food, which is prices in the unreasonable zone, they try to pass of as BBQ. There are much better BBQ option to be had, at better prices, nearby. My advice is give Pig Out BBQ a pass if you are looking for authentic BBQ.
Absolutely amazing BBQ spot. If in the area, make sure you stop in! Updated Dec 11 2023- Excellent service today! I had the boneless rib sandwich. The fries were cooked to perfection! Food : 5/5
We ordered the Pig Out Platter with the 3 trimmings (sides). Not disappointed at all, not even in the slightest. It was our New Years Eve dinner, and we called to place our order but were told they were sold out of Ribs and Wings! Totally understandable given trying to order dinner at 7:30 on NYE! But their manager called us back within 5 minutes to say they have wings and everything except ribs, so we said yes! So happy we did! The Brisket, Pulled Pork, Sausages and BBQ chicken were all delicious! The sides let me tell you, get these three: fries, potato salad and macaroni salad. Some of the best of those three I ve ever had at a restaurant! One of the best BBQ spots in Durham and the GTA! As my boy John Catucci said on TV . YOU VE GOTTA EAT HERE
Good food
For a place that specializes in bbq and has mostly good reviews, I expected their food to be much better than it is. Instead, its maybe average....and I dont know what they do with their baked beans, but they taste like theyve been cooked in dish soap or something, just awful.
They take a while to prepare the food but when you receive it is game over! The meats are nice and soft, sometimes pull pork not really tasty but only sometimes. Good flavor and excellent service.
Absolutely prime. Best BBQ around!
Coming to this place for the first time, i had some expectations as to what i read on the media, it supposedly was good, but when i got my order, the food was poorly seasoned and overcooked i would say, as a person who is also in the food industry. Corn bread was dry and felt like it was sitting outside for hours. The fries were undercooked and the chicken was also poorly seasoned and cooked as well. I wont be promoting this business. Mind you, i had to wait almost 1 hour for my food
Nice Brisket sandwich
We ordered the Jr. Pig Out Platter - everything was delicious and the portions were really good.
Been here twice, tastes awesome
I got the rib dinner with onion rings and an extra coleslaw. Delicious! I was worried because of the previous poor reviews, but give this restaurant a chance!
We didn t mind driving out to this location as the ones in Spadina has a very limited seating capacity and boy the drive was so worth it. We ordered the carnivore platter that could feed 3-4 people. The ribs were fall off bones and savoury, the wings are top notch and has very smoky flavour, pulled pork was deliciously sweet and tangy, my preference. However, I think they came short on the brisket as it has only 3 tiny slices and cut along the flesh instead of across. Also, I wish they would serve beers soon. These are the missing link to complete the 5-stars.
I really enjoyed this place as I went off hours from rush hour but I clearly got everything made fresh for my order as it was hot and tasted great! I thought the price was a little high at first but I got enough food for 2 meals and that was the smallest platter! I got to try their wings, ribs, brisket, steak bites, cornbread and coleslaw and I loved all of them. Ill be back for sure!
We always order the Pigout platter, it is a hit and miss situations for us. I had pigout three times; the FIRST time we had pigout was back in 2018/2019, the food the staff the dining experience everything was absolutely amazing. The SECOND time was back in Covid lockdown time around 2020, we order take away for my birthday. One particular staff was rude, because we picked up our take away 20mins before closing. I do understand that it would be nice for staff to complete all the orders ahead of closing time, but we were only late due to traffic caused by collision on 401, nonetheless we apologize once we stepped in the door. We did not deserve the attitude and listened to her complaining about us picking up our food late . Food was generally okay but the wings and ribs are dry. The THIRD time was a very recent experience. Ribs are dry. Wings are not moist leaning towards dry but still acceptable. Sausages were nice. Pulled pork is okay. But the brisket is very disappointing; it is dry, worse yet whoever cut the brisket cut it along the grain .. it was already a tad on the dry side plus the way it was cut brisket becomes hard to chew I am not sure if I would go back to be honest is pigout a hit and miss or whoever taking care of the place does not care anymore Edit/ google keeps saying fail to upload pictures.. bummer
We ordered a bunch of food... Mac and cheese, spectacular. Wings, ditto. Ribs, fabulous. Sausage and fries, out of this world. I will be returning. Unfortunately, its quite a drive for me being from montreal:(
Finally tried out this place tonight, it was... meh. Pretty lackluster for a place that specializes in BBQ. Most of the items in our platter were pretty dry, definitely overcooked. Nothing was good enough to keep us coming back. There are better options for BBQ in town.
Really solid. Price is decent and the food is high quality.
After seeing the Pig Out BBQ on you Gotta Eat Here we decided we needed to check this place out. The staff were very friendly. We ordered a Jr. platter for $40.00. This included spicy chicken wings , ribs and beef brisket. Very delicious flavours. This platter also came with fries, onion rings and coleslaw. We were the only people in there and there were several people doing takeout. The food was not hot. Not sure why but as I said the flavour was really good. The ribs were tough as well which was disappointing. I did not complain because it wasn t a bad experience it just could have been hotter. My issue with the Pig Out BBQ is that the staff knew this was our first time, we even asked them to pick what type of brisket to have - the problem was that we were charged $47.00 not $40.00 as posted. When we asked why they said the prices increased and they were waiting on a new menu board. They should have told us when we were ordering that there was a price increase. This was not good value and we won t be returning. Reason for two star review - poor value, food was not hot and they didn t advise us of $7.00 increase.
Their food is amazing. I especially enjoyed the Warm Banana Bread Pudding. Would definitely recommend them. Good portions for their price.
Food was amazing.
This is the best ribs and chicken wings Ive had from a restaurant. Wow! Simply amazing No need to go to RibFest and the customer service is on the same level.
Great traditional BBQ here. Very tasty.
Absolutely the worst experience Ive ever had i ordered a pulled chicken sandwich and made sure to repeat I wanted sweet bbq sauce no spicy I cant take spicy. And of course it came with the hottest sauce imaginable. My aunt asked for nothing on her sandwich plain and of course it came with all the topping. my wife asked for a rolo, the cashier said what? So she repeated rolo the chocolate milk, the cashier said ok. When the order came we asked where the chocolate milk was and the cashier said I never put it in the bill. All the while I watched them forget the guys before mes order and had to remake his. The freezer they kept the food in was falling apart. I highly suggest who ever is thinking of trying this place dont!
Absolutely terrible service! The food was overcooked and out of 3 separate orders NOT a single one was correct! We will not be back!
Super disappointed in todays experience. My dad and I fell in love with the food when this location first opened up. So we decided for fathers day to treat him to Pig Out. Our order was placed through Skip. We ordered 3 combo meals I almost left without my drinks and 2 sets of fries, I asked the staff if this was everything they said yes. I went to the car and realized no this wasnt everything. Went back in to discuss and corrected the order. After waiting an extra 10 minutes for 2 orders of fries, I come home to an improperly made burger missing 2 of the main ingredients which was dry and hard to eat as well as cold fries. My fathers burger was also dry, as well as my mothers brisket. The staff are pleasant to deal with for the most part. The skip app was blamed for the burger being made wrong as it wasnt described on the app on their end. But if this is one of the stores burgers I would be under the impression you know what the toppings are. Sorry to say we will not be returning to this location ever again. Below is the Canadian Burger supposed to have cheese curds and peameal bacon.. wish I could have enjoyed it.
TLDR; Probably the worst bbq experience weve ever had. Long wait time, dry bbq meat, stinky restaurant. We were in the neighborhood and decided to finally try Pig Out. We ordered 3 things, brisket mac, 1 roast chicken leg, and the boneless rib sandwich special with a side of coleslaw. Mains: It was the driest rib pieces Id ever had to bite through!! Legit choked on a bite because it was so dry going down, couldnt even finish the sandwich. The chicken and the brisket mac were ok, but nothing to write home about. Sides: The coleslaw was tangy, so if thats your thing, go for it, but I kind of like mine a bit sweeter. The fries were indeed cooked well and seasoned nicely, which was the only thing I liked about this meal, and why Im giving the 2 instead of 1 . Restaurant: It smelled like floor cleaner in there. Not very appetizing to be in there smelling that. Wait time: The wait was ridiculous for what we ordered, 40-45 mins, maybe thats why the ribs were burnt to a coal.
Always delicious good to be back
Ordered the piggly platter which included 2 ribs, 4 chicken wings, pulled pork and fries. The only thing that was edible were the 2 ribs. The rest had to be thrown away including the rubbery fries which seemed like they were cooked days ago. The chicken and pulled pork was dry, overcooked and then smothered in sauce trying to hide how bad it was. Avoid this place as you will be very disappointed after spending a lot of money for nothing. Not sure how they are still in business.
I have given it 4 star the taste of the food was great.i just wished the staff were a lil more welcoming. We placed ordller and food came but no plates given so I requested the waitress then goes and brings us back wet plates(literally wet) nothing said so I just wiped them down no cutlery given went back and requested. What I can say is staff needs to be trained I guess.
Great Food, great service, reasonably priced.
Really enjoyed the ribs and pulled pork. Definitely will be back for more.
The food is pretty appalling. They kept getting our order wrong and they sent the grossest, driest French fries I ve ever seen. We brought the food back (after paying our Uber driver a good tip,) in order to correct our meals and return food we absolutely did not order. The replacement French fries we re just as horrible as the first batch, which I thought were an anomaly. How can anyone mess up fries? I took a photo, but it won t let me post it. Absolutely revolting.
We decided to take out because it was hot. I didnt really see the big deal about the place. The only thing that stood out was the beef brisket.
The burgers were really good but they were missing topping ingredients like the cheese, caramelized onions and tomatoes that were mentioned in the food description. Not busy on Wednesday afternoon at all, food came fast
We know this place very well since they opened and it used to be a regular take out place for my family until we moved a little farther away. Recently we have been taking out from another place and a very good one. However this time we had to wait over an hour to pick up and we couldn t wait after 3 hours of exercise. We decided to order again from Pig Out again even though its 20 min drive away each way on the 401. However problems began right from the start with placing the order. We ordered the Jr. pig out platter with sweet potato fries and baked beans. Whomever was taking our order kept repeating herself if we are ordering Mac & cheese ???? We kept saying no Mac & cheese repeatedly. My husband went through the side choices one by one to confirm everything which included a COKE! They said coleslaw is complimentary but we knew this anyway from memory. We were excited to enjoy their food again but it was a big disappointment. First they gave us root beer instead of COKE and no one in my family likes it. Size of the complimentary coleslaw was a joke! One bite size for such a big platter and couldn t share because of the bite size portion. And the meat was burnt and dried out. Especially the wings were hard to chew. Baked beans were crunchy which we never experienced before? When they said jr platter is good for 2-3 people, aren t they supposed give at least 2 peoples portion size?? They gave not only a tiny size coleslaw but the pickle was so tiny, thinner than a pinky finger! This is because it was actually half a pickle!!! Sooo cheap! We spent over $60 including tax and it was the worst food quality and portion experience I ever had! I ll never be going back! Memory of the original owner, it was very good quality food and really good portions that they gave out and we really enjoyed their service but when owner changed everything changed to down sizing. I don t recommend this place to anyone! They provide a lack of quality food and portions. TOO CHEAP! I will stick to the restaurant where we go normally even if I have to waiting more than one hour. Same price but quality is vastly different and portions are much larger. Simply DON T GO!
This place gave me some rotten chicken wings. I wouldnt come back again!
Excellent foods. Loved their pulled pork buns, very moist and tasty
Meh it seems Not so worth the dollars sometimes and by that I mean ...please more meat way less fat.
Amazing fall of the bone wings and ribs! The coleslaw, mac and cheese, and poutine were all bang on too! Great service 10/10
Tried for the first time and ordered through Uber. Delivered in about 45mins - Brisket Sandwich, Boneless Rib Sandwich, Caesar Salad, Onion Rings, complimentary fries. Boneless Rib sandwich was tastier than the brisket, but brisket was still good! The meats were juicy and the Smokey BBQ sauce was tasty. Felt the brisket sandwich could use a few more slices, or have less bread / doughy bun. If theyre using the same bun for both sandwiches, then the rib one came squished which worked out better. Onion rings were perfect. Generous amount of fries but only mediocre quality - on the soggy side. Will likely order again when theres another promo!
Oh my, ordered the brisket sandwich. It was incredible. Havent found a place in the area that Brisket is this good. YOU GOTTA EAT HERE, was right on the mark.
Ribs were decent but not sure worth price. Fries were disgusting, its like it was fried in old oil, and chicken wings were pretty stale. Pretty disappointing for $60 worth of food.
Food was a huge disappointment, environment was dirty, dingy and sad looking. Only positive was staff were friendly. You are better off eating somewhere else .
The food was very good, large portions. Staff was great. Definitely will come back.
We googled comfort food in PIckering and found this place. So worth the drive from Markham. I had the 3 Little Pig sandwich melt and my boyfriend had the Pig Out Burger. We ordered large onion rings to share.. if you re hungry, this is the place to go! Portions are plenty and man oh man delicious! Friendly staff too. We ll be back to try something different on the menu for sure! Parking: Lots of free parking out as its in a plaza
Traveled all the way from Winnipeg to eat here. Kids love the Mac & Cheese. Ribs and brisket are amazing! Staff super friendly. Will visit again next time for sure!
Third time Ive had food from here, first time going in person. They need to bottle the aroma in the store, its delicious. So far I havent been disappointed in the food. The pulled pork is amazing, the portions are large, the fries are perfect! Service was great and fast! Highly recommended!
Bought the Rib Platter, paid $60+ and was disappointed. Ribs 2/10, they were small, dry, and just underwhelming. Sausage and Beans both decent, 7/10. Wings were a 5/10, another just dry, tough meat that was pretty bad. Won t be coming back, way to steep to justify the poor quality.
Friendly Service. Had the platter. Sat in. Very good
This is some seriously good bbq! We shared the piglet platter, 2 ribs, 4 wings, pulled pork and we ordered a half lb of brisket. So very good!
Ordered dinner via Uber eats and had to come in the following evening, as my food was delicious. Got the ribs in spicy bbq sauce with a side of Mac and cheese. Very quick and excellent service. The gentleman that served us was polite and displayed great customer service. Special bonus they offered Grape crush
Got takeout and food was just okay, found it average
Great food and a clean place.
Always an awesome place for BBQ and fixings! My go-to is always the ribs. Love their corn bread and banana bread pudding as well! So good.
Best bbq soft taco shells. Delicious tasty beef tacos with plenty of toppings and meat. Chicken was just as tasty. Meaty pulled pork sandwich. Both smokey and the sweet BBQ sauce was delicious. Very nice Cole Slaw salad. Was very happy with dinner. Food was very good. Definitely recommend restaurant.
I went yesterday for some takeout to take back to mississauga and the front desk staff and owner paid special attention to put sauce and veggies on the side so my boneless rib sandwich wouldn t get soggy. The Mac and cheese is amazing and the house sauce for the sweet potato fries is deleicious. I went with high expectations and was not let down whatsoever. Going back again soon to try the three little pig burger. The owner was there and was totally a nice guy with his recommendations too! Great job guys! Awesome vibes even during the pandemic!!
Loved the food here ! I ordered the beef brisket with smokey bbq sauce as well as the caesar salad and they were both delicious. The beef brisket was so tender, highly recommend! Follow @jkoeatsto on Instagram for more reviews
The pulled pork/brisket sandwich I ordered was cold and just not well made overall. Sauce wasn t evenly spread. It s almost as if they just slapped it together. In addition to being 30% fat.
Ordered the Pig out platter. The food was good, the staff on site were communicating very well and were friendly. The fries were absolutely perfect and Id go back just to order them again. I would not order the platter again if I was to return due to finding another place where I found the meal to be a lot more juicy however the pricing here is far better than the other place. I still recommend having the platter to sample the menu out to help get a feel for what you like though. I definetly would prefer sandwiches and wings here. I also failed to mention the wings are huge and were seasoned nicely.
Brisket was all fat and all the meats were in the one container which mixed up the flavours
Good food! Skimpy on the potato fries, rib and chicken tasted great.
I got here 8:55 and they wont take my order. Kitchen is cleaned and grills closed up. Unacceptable when the operating. Keyword operating times is until 9pm. Set your closing time to 8:45pm if you guys decide to close earlier. I got my family with me hoping to try out this restaurant. But never will go back even if its before store hours.
Rarely disappoints...generous portions, worth a try IMHO!!
Not impressed with the taste and the brisket it was like pulled beef All covered with bbq cannot taste the smokiness of the ribs and brisket
The food felt like it was pre-made and just heated up. The fries were soggy. The brisket was shredded but tasted just fine.
Smokey, tender and delicious. Brisket is a must try.
Food was pretty good. Brisket was tasty, a little on a dry side, pulled pork quite good.
Ordered from Pig Out Bbq Pickering on Monday evening. Husband ordered the homemade burger and this is how it arrived. I should mentioned the outside of the bun was absolutely drenched in ketchup as well. Almost like they tried to cover it in ketchup to try and hide the burnt. Can t believe a restaurant that s been publicized so much would serve food at this quality. Very disappointed. Tried calling the restaurant with no answer. Have tagged the restaurant in multiple posts on their social media. No response.
I hate saying something negative about restaurants, especially during the current climate but this was a pretty big disappointment. I called ahead to find out what was gluten free and was told everything was except the Mac and cheese was (the one answering the phone didnt know and asked a line cook). Great! Ordered the brisket meal and my husband ordered the chicken and ribs. I mentioned no half bun a few times when ordering as I cant have gluten. Sat down and waited for food. Table rocked but whatever. Went to the bathroom to wash up before eating and the sink is broken and the handle spins all the way around. Only exceptionally hot water comes out until you wiggle it just right. Food comes out and there is a bun on my order. I mention to the server that I cant have that I know I know. And puts the plate down and looks at me. Oook can you please replace the food? Credit to them they do make everything fresh (after saying I cant have it if the bun is just picked off). Brisket was somehow both fatty and dry. Fries were pretty hard. Husbands food was decent but enjoys rib fest more and the ribs were burnt, 2 he picked the char off of, 1 rib didnt have the full meat. Hes pretty chill so for him to say anything says a bit. The server and 1/2 of the line cooks leave as soon as we get the replacement meal. The 2nd line cook does ask us if we need anything like ketchup for the fries about 5 min after we get the food and says to just ask if we need anything. No one says anything to us for the rest of the meal and we are both slow eaters. We were pretty hungry due to driving for 4.5 hours so we made a good dent in the food but I definitely wouldnt say you gotta eat here.
I ordered the beef brisket dinner. The meat was delicious and cooked perfectly, the fries were decent, might have been better in a poutine. Great food and even better customer service.
Cheap and good quality!
Beef brisket is mouth watering!
I loved the food I had here today. I had todays special which was a half rack of baby back ribs with fries for $14.99. The half rack was eight bones. The ribs seemed slightly dried out but they were really meaty with few globs of fat and no gristle. The portion of fries was generous and well seasoned although I prefer my fries a bit more crispy. I finished the meal with a milkshake which was the perfect texture for drinking without plugging up my straw. Ill probably be back as there are other options on the menu which look delicious.
Great BBQ as always.
Great food. Good service. Genuine bbq. Ribs, Brisket, Chicken wings, Pulled pork, everything tastes fantastic. The ambience is nice and it has a good vibe. The Pig Out Burger is my favorite, with loads of meat, cooked to perfection. Platters are good if you re into sharing your food. All in all, great place for bbq lovers.
Literally the best bbq I ve ever had. The ribs were so juicy and flavorful. The cornbread was AMAZING. Not dry or gritty. When I asked who made it they said Kiefer makes it and it was amazing. The Mac n cheese was very good as well as the brisket. This is for sure a place you have to eat at.
DELICIOUS!
