I just Order namak handi kerhaee and shenwari beeharee ,and biryani and kheer. For 12 people. It was extremely good food especially biharee and kheer next level. Quantity of food was more than enough. Just one complain the price was little bit higher side. Food

We placed an order for 60 people they gave us enough food for about 80 which was great! The food was absolutely amazing, kheer was delicious and the veal korma was one of the best dishes! I would definitely recommend this place to others

Worst take out experience! Low quality food. I spend $50 here on average every other week. Watery Nihari and low quality meat. Never recommend to anyone for money value.

Had mutton and chicken biryani at this place. This is a Pakistani restaurant thus the biryani is not like the regular Hyderabadi biryani. 3 star is also for not much meat as compared to other restaurants. It had tamarind in the biryani and thus not at all a Hyderabadi biryani. The haleem was just average but slightly better than biryani. Thus people used to that kind of flavor might like it more but Indians might not really enjoy it so much. The staff was very good and pleasant. When taking orders on call or at restaurant they need to clearly mention what kind of biryani it is. We asked them multiple times is it Hyderabadi dum biryani and they confirmed it is.

Had tea here. Worst tea in Canada. And it priced 3.99. If you are looking for tea please avoid.

Very bad service, 10 min wait to order, 20 min later was told to order something else because they were not making puri anymore even tho it said served til 1pm and it was 11:15am. Only 1 server so she was not efficient, table next to us ordered water and waited 15 min for it, both other tables got their puri and we sat there for 30 min until we left without eating because no food or service. Place is run down too. Ended up going down the street instead. Owner looked like he came and left. Would not recommend since service was so uncaring and inconvenient and no options offered for the hassle.

Me and my wife went to have our lunch at this place!! Then the staff said we can t have our food inside the restaurant!! And they aske us to go to Whitby lol never go to this place with the hope of have good time with family!!!

Good Pakistan food in Pickering. More of a take out restaurant

This place never disappoints. Our fav is chicken biryani and chicken kabab. Only recommendation if you could add atleast one more piece of chicken in biryani. Taste wise it s authentic biryani.

It s a take out type with very limited sitting arrangements but the food is amazing. Very tasty food.

Loved the food. Loved the Karahi. Its a must try. The malai Tikka and Breakfast menu is decent too. The naans are the best in Durham. The one thing they could improve on is their kebab rolls. Overall great dining experience.

Had lunch at their second location on Brock in Whitby. This is a proper dine in location with a nice atmosphere. Tried their Karahi, Nihari and BBQ platter. All were excellent in taste, price and quantity. Additionally, do try their Kheer which also delicious. Without doubt they are one of best desi food restaurants in GTA.

Good food but very poor service

First of all : Kudos for preparing food on time. Can t even count the amount of times I have ordered food from desi restaurants and it s never ready on the quoted time Ordered Chicken Layered Biryani, Boneless Chicken Karahi and Naan Biryani was good, if a bit dry but that s to do with the style. My usual biryani place was closed today so this was a decent alternative. Portion was really generous too. I d rate it 6/10 Chicken Boneless Karahi was however amazing. Very well made with quality ingredients specially ginger on top added authenticity BUT for me it was a bit too spicy. Ofcourse that s to do with my tolerance so can t complain but it will be good if they tone it down a little bit. 8/10 Naan was 10/10 fresh and soft

First time trying as they came up on UberEats. Ordered Butter Chicken, Lamb Biryani (bone in, didnt see a boneless option), Fish Pakora, Garlic Naan, and their Pulao rice. Best things were their garlic naan and fish pakoras, very tasty and crispy. Unfortunately, the mains were only okay. Pulao rice was very salty (maybe a one off) and the meats were dry. Biryani had a good level of spice and flavour. Food wasnt bad but with the abundance of other options, theres no need to settle for simply average. May return for those fish pakoras though!

Food was tasty, qeema naan and chicken biryani were good. However there were too many bones in the Goat Karhai,hardly any meat. For the price we paid, it was not worth it . My guests were disappointed. Hence the 3 star review.

Veal biryani was nothing but colourful rice. When you have foodtime and silverspoon in close proximity you got to be good. Never coming back again.

We tried this place on a Sunday afternoon. The patio was empty, we ordered naan and namak handi. Chicken was delicious. The service was ok. I would have given 4 stars but I felt 25$ for the small portion of namak handi was too much and It was just enough for two people.

Excellent food and we all loved it. The owner Mr. Jemeel himself served us and took really great care of us. The kheer was offered complimentary which was one of the best kheer I ever had. We had Namkeen chicken Karahi and I must say it was authentic taste of Pakistan. Highly recommended.

Excellent service and food

Went there to have Halwa Puri, but they only serve on it on weekends so, got their Murgh Channa and Naan. It was raining so theres no sitting area and we have to eat in our car. The Naan was good my son likes it and Channa was okay.

A little more work on beautification of the patio would make quite a difference. 4.5 outta 5 overall, highly recommend this establishment. UPDATE: Its a shame that everything I said above was undone by yesterdays ridiculous dinning experience at this establishment. Spent $80 to receive no greetings by any of the staff there. The young waiter dropped my straw on the ground while bringing us our drinks then placed it on the table like nothing happened. We initiated conversations with staff and received no response. We felt unwelcome and disrespected. We wont be supporting this once excellent neighborhood establishment in the future. Taking away my 5 star rating and replacing it with a 1 star rating.

My wife found this place and she took me, my son and my daughter there. Well I drove because I am my wife chauffeur (lol). We ordered chicken pakoras in appetizer. And ordered mutton Karahi, chicken tikka, chicken tikka both, plain naan and garlic naan for dinner. Everything was superb. Mutton karahi was on top with plain naan. Meat was very tender. We ate food on Patio and felt like having food some were in Pakistan with good food. I recommend this place. Oh one more thing, Jameel (the owner) gave us kheer and didn t charge for this .

We had a catering order, the food was amazing, all the guests really enjoyed the food.

First the food itself was very good. Excellent. But Portions were crazy small for the price. Behari kebab wasnt kebabs it was a small handful of meat. Butter naan wasnt buttered enough or really at compared to other places. The full portion of boneless chicken Karahi cost 50 bucks and it was maybe less then half a chicken worth of meat. They also made a mistake by forgetting our main dish and 4 naan but remedied it quickly. But they could have included a were sorry dessert. But thats just nit picking. Because the meal for 4 cost 110 dollars. Vegetarian options: The Chana and paneer was delicious. Kid-friendliness: Had fries but the container was half full. Tasty fries though.

I ve been coming to this restaurant for a while now. I ve never had issues with the food. Honestly the food is always on point and I d still recommend this place if you want good food. But the service has been a hit or miss. If you re lucky you can expect to be greeted with amazing customer service or unlucky like my most recent visit, be told you re wrong for pointing out a pricing error :/. The staff is ready to argue for a menu price that s marked up in their system. I m sorry but it s not my fault that the advertised price is wrong in your POS computer. I understand that prices change and I could care less about the price, I ll happily pay whatever the advertised price is, even if the price in the POS rings up at 1cent. The lady at the register lacks 101 service skills as well as good etiquette. Would ve loved to support a local Pakistani business but I don t think I ll ever visit again, I don t really feel like being belittled by restaurant staff.

Customer service needs to be improved. While waiting for the take out order, another customer walked in and took a bottle of water from the fridge. Then when i was given my order, the lady at the counter asked me if i took something from the fridge and i replied no. She asked me the same question again. Then she said she saw me taking something from the fridge. I then pointed to the other customer standing at the restaurant with the bottle of water in his hand but she did not even apologize. I told her why would i steal a bottle of water. Really poor customer service.

Picked up Haleem, Nihaari, Seekh Kababs with rice, Qeema Naan and plain Naan. Haleem and Nihaari were phenomenal. Extremely tasty. Authentic Pakistani taste. Will definitely order them again. Seekh Kababs were okay, the Qeema Naan was unexpected. It was more like a chapli smashed inside a Naan. Food

Discovered this place on St. Patricks Day 2021 as we were in Pikering and have been ordering from here every chance we get. Considering we live in Downtown Toronto we ask our friends who are coming to the city to pick up something or another for us whenever they visit. Last time we ordered the Special BBQ Platter and were so happy we did. You get a little bit of everything and at a very reasonable price. Keep up the tasty work. Pure deliciousness.

We were enjoying a me for someone birthday when I was eating I saw a black orange hair in the nahri and I was gonna vomit I will say bad review

So I spent $69 for 1.5 kg karahi I come home open the lid , first off it is the same kind of meat pieces. all were uncooked and hard every bite i took had small pieces of bones chipped off frm the actual meat . I asked for regular spice and it ended up being super spicy very disappointed i need my refund kindly let me know when can I come down to collect all the food is still sitting in the fridge .

Overall rating of 3.5! We have ordered takeout over the last couple of months. We tried the butter chicken, chicken biryani (bone-in), chicken biryani boneless, lamb biryani, beef kebab, chicken kebab, half-tandoori chicken, malai chicken boti, beef haleem, beef samosa, chicken samosa, halwa, poori, chana masala, potato curry, butter naan, regular naan and kheer. We have been impressed with their entire menu. Why the 3.5 stars then? The chicken biryani ordered Saturday evenings are the best in freshness; we have seen not so fresh biryanis the other days for lunch. The kebabs were tasty but a bit dry but the taste was on point with the perfect amount of charcoal flavor, the tandoori chicken on the other hand had too much charcoal flavour, the lamb biryani was love at first bite and so was the kheer - please increase the meat in the biryani and the portion sizes! We tried the weekend breakfast items and although we got three orders of halwa poori once and four orders, the chana, halwa and potato curry quantity was the same - this could be standardized. The pooris were awesome the first time around and then they got oily, soggy and chewy. I didnt feel like eating anything after a single poori. The chana masala has a good taste but is overpowered by the use of powdered ginger. The halwa could definitely loose sugar and lesser oil would make it fluffier and 5-star. The potato curry has too much citric acid/ vinegar (achaar) which is not appetizing. The beef haleem was on the spicy side and the quantity could definitely increase. Another dish that has been a favorite is butter chicken - perfect every single time - again the portion size is too small. Please go with the butter naans instead of the plain naans - there is a huge difference in quality. The butter naans are thin and delicate but the regular ones are thicker and chewy. The malai chicken boti could get more tender like the one in the butter chicken. The beef and chicken samosas are crispy with the perfect amount of filling but definitely overpriced. We want to try their various karahis but havent as they are too $$$.

Ive ordered Namak Handi on numerous occasions for my family and every single time they do not disappoint. I had a small dinner party yesterday not only was the owner accommodating he went above and beyond for my order. The food was delicious, flavourful and fresh, the portions were very generous and overall my experience was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had Namak Handi cater for a recent party with 30+ guests. They made appropriate suggestions and provided amazing service and quality. Had enough servings for everyone and everyone complimented the food. Really enjoyed the chicken korma, chicken tikka, chola masala, and veal biryani. Will be going back for sure!

I ate here with a friend over a year ago and left a negative review as the karahi we ordered literally had no salt. I have now decided to update my review as since then I have ordered food twice from this place and I am convinced the my first experience was one off incident. I have tried their Nihari, Paya, Bar BQ since then and it tasted very good. Recently ordered biryani which was good. So 4.5

I ordered chicken biryani that was not good because there is lot of cinnamon and few pieces of chicken, but the size of the biryani is too much. I suggest focus quantity of chicken and taste not on size.

I experienced extremely pathetic customer service in namak handi, went on saturday morning to get halwa pori. first they misguided me, the guy who took our order said it will be 2 piece in one order. When I got my order he charged me for 4x halwa pori and in each packet its 4 pieces. It was not my order tho. I didn t check my receipt that time. When I came home I called these guys that I got wrong order instead of resolving my issue he yelled at me and said not our problem they guys don t even know how to respect customer not going back

We made a huge order for my sister s baby shower and it was just biryani with naan The size of the biryani was massive and he gave us apparently a 16 ounce raita they only give out 12 oz I asked for another one because we had over 25 people coming and his response was basically teaching me how he only gives out the little one and he has already given me four more ounces and people are supposed to go home and make the yoghurt at home putting their vegetables in there like cucumbers and onions and going on about how yoghurt is supposed to be made at home and not bought from here

Ridiculous price hiking every week ! Better to get biryani and other items from surrounding restaurants, lot of options available in ajax and pickering. No point in compromising on prices on every visit !

I loved it. Chicken Boti combo, that came with salad, naan, and coke was great. Salad came with lots of onions. They provided plenty of extra yogurt sauce in a chilled squeeze bottle. They even have a covered patio at the back!!! If you want to sit there and eat, just go straight to the patio and you can order from there.

Had namak handi a few times. Today ordered Chicken and beef seekh kebab and naan. Sat and ate it in the car fresh. Delicious flavours like Pakistan. Hit the spot. Their butter chicken is good too.

My family and I went to Namak Handi for the first time today. Frankly we were somewhat dissappinted with the overall experience. They dont have an indoor dining but do have a patio in the back, which is not an issue...except there were some flies buzzing around while we were eating. Quite annoying to shoosh the fly away while trying to eat...sometimes we would be too late in realizing that they were already on our food sharing our meal with us. Anyway, the cutlery and plates provided were somewhat dirty....we had to ask them to clean it. The food tasted good but nothing special. We had Namak Handi, chicken malai boti, lamb briyani and naan. The portions for the price was somewhat little in my opinion. Specifically, the lamb briyani was a big dissappintment. We payed $15 for it, but it came with 4 bite sized lamb pieces, of which 2 were mostly bones. In addition, the food prices on the menu we ordered off of were significatly less than what were charged. I am not sure why it was the case, but we never asked. Personally based on the seating, the cleanliness, the cost and the portion sizing, we would probably not go back again. There are much better south asian restaurants than this one.

I was visiting from Vancouver and I wanted to taste their food, so had my dinner while coming back from Niagrafall . Absolutely very tasty and fresh goat karahi , and it was not made with tin tomoto,which we have in all restaurants. You will get what you pay for. Thier naans,I never had that type even in back home or here in Vancouver. Kheer OMG tast like we use to eat in our childhood cooked in earthenware s, mouth watering yum yum! Biryaani taste like authentic Karachi style. I brought packed food here in Vancouver, my family loved it. The bad part, airport security put my kheer boxes in trash as they considered it liquid. I was almost crying. My family missed their kheer. One thing please dont expect any hi fi set up, fancy crockery . Just have an experience of dhaba style tasty food and presentation. We go to fancy restaurants here in Vancouver but food just sucks. I was enjoying like sitting in fresh air at a roadside dhaba in back home and eating yummy food. Keep it up namak handi ownership and management. May Allah bless you all

Best catering we have gotten done in the GTA by far. Biryani and kheer are the best! Especially the kheer is to die for. We also had chicken tikka/ whole chicken and it was very juicy and tender with good flavouring. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Wow, Im so thrilled I found this place! We had butter chicken, palak paneer, and chana masala with pulao rice and it was all FANTASTIC! The food had the perfect balance of flavour and spice. Well be back! Plus the price was great and the gentleman I dealt with on the phone and at pickup was very friendly.

The food taste great - The dine in space is not that comfortable. Better do take away.

The rice is way too oily, had throw away half of it, please put less oil!!!!

We have ordered from Namak Handi several times, ordering beef kebobs, chicken tikka masala and the biryani. Food is always fresh and always tastes delicious. A little on the spicy side but I m sure you can ask for less. Price is also reasonable. We recently did a small catering order and they were easy to deal with and food was great! Everyone enjoyed it! Love this place and will continue to be a regular customer because it s that good!!

I got to try their food at a friend s party and loved it. The veal biryaani, karahai, naan, Chana masala and kheer were awesome. The star of the night was kheer. The amount of food was really generous.

Wanted to like this. I ordered a wrap I wanted - was told I just made this other wrap that nobody showed up for, 10 mins ago. I said okay. It was warm and tasted OK, but after this interaction I will never go back again.

Must try paya curry and lamb biryani. We eat once and buying all ways. Paya curry made me feel like home Halwa puri too is best! My kids loved it
