This had been our go-to for catering for some time. Previously we had good experiences with Usmania Grill. However, last time it was an embarrassment for us. Serving sizes for barbecue was half the party size. Trays were half filled and there was nothing to serve in next round. Rice serving size was less from what we previously used to get. Wait time to receive was long. Nobody to answer the complain. Never ordering again.

This is a great place for BBQ. Service is impeccable! Will certainly come for their Chicken karahi!

Excellent service on my sisters wedding in June. Catering for 150 people. Food was extremely delicious and portions were enough for even 200 people. Also usmania Manager (EHTISHAAM)helped us out of the way. Highly recommended.

Comparatively good food and waiter was good. Only think I would suggest is to please check your detailed bill before paying and make sure price is charged as expected.

My family has been ordering from this establishment for many years now. But the one consistent problem is the wait times. In order to get your food on time, you have to order about an hour before you actually want it. I recently placed an order for pick up and was told it would take about 35 minutes, but I ended up waiting over an hour. The problem is, the staff are well aware that the food takes a lot longer to prepare than what they tell you over the phone. They are well aware that sometimes they only have one person in the back cooking but, will deliberately tell you it takes less time than it really does just so you place your order. You end up arriving at the restaurant just to wait another half hour. This establishment needs to either hire more people or be honest when telling people what the wait time is on the phone. It seems as if they choose not to tell you the because they know people won t place their order if it takes that long, especially for those ordering within their work lunchtimes. This has happened several times in the past and it s become very frustrating. It s unfortunate because their food is great, but they need to do better in terms of service.

2 shawarma wraps for $16. Very tasty price for a very tasty shawarma! Loved it. The only thing I forgot to ask for was hot sauce. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Would have ordered the platter for 4 but did not have the time to wait. Next time ordering ahead for sure!

The food was great! Gagan, the staff was wonderful and kind. It was fun playing snooker. Overall, we had a good time eating out there.

They are very very unprofessional, they did not supply the proper order I placed , they did not give the quantity I ordered . They less quantity. Long waiting time . It was a take away order , when I opened in dinging found this is not the one we ordered . Specially less quantity of Nan and instead of butter Nan they have different Nan which was burnt and cold . I really hate this place !!

We ordered mixed daal (lentils) , Chicken Tikka masala & tea during our visit to Niagara Falls Ontario on 22nd Sep 2024. The food was really outstanding! Every meal we had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant for halal food. The staff here genuinely cares about their guests. They were attentive, courteous, and pleasant. They made us feel like VIPs. Particularly I would like to mention about Gagan she was very knowledgeable about food and provided fantastic customer service.

We got the catering done for 25 people taking Platinium Package. The Appetizer, B.B.Q and the complete food and dessert everything was excellent. All the guests from children to adults appreciated and enjoyed the quality of the food. This made our celebration a memorable one. Excellent Staff. I have ordered from here on recommendations from clients of mine and the food is amazing. Everything my family has tried has trumped other places. Delicious. Used them to help cater my company BBQ and it was a hit. I have never eaten inside the restaurant, usually just get takeout or catering, and the staff are helpful (even if rather busy with lots of orders....b/c the food is that good). Highly recommend.

I ordered a week in advance. $400 worth of food for a event at my home. The order was 50 mins late. With no apology, explanation or remorse. By the time I got home my guests had filled themselves from appetizers. I will never return here nor recommend anybody to spend their money here. Very typical of our people . We waited 1 hour for food. We were the 1st customers who walked in & 2 other customers got their order before us. DO NOT order Nihari, so poor quality and terrible food, especially Nihari. Our order was four Naan, chicken karahi, & Nihari. The total was $85. It was our 1st and will be the last time visit.

Me and my friend went there and we ordered 2 chicken Tikka with naan. It took 45 minutes to get the food. The food was ok, no one came after the food was served to ask if we need anything else. We ordered 2 teas after the food and it took more thn 30 min. We had to ask several times for our tea order. My friend paid the bill and by chance he had a glance at the bill ... the Tikka I guess was $14 something on the menu but they charged 18.99 . When my friend inquire about it the lady said it was old price on menu and we never changed that . I have seen the same issue in several desi resturant. I might not go again there.... I live in mississauga and I have so many better options ...

It was very very tasty, fresh & delicious. We ordered veal biryani, chicken karahi, aloo gobi, chicken & beef sheikh kababs along with raita, salad & naan. Everything is good except for the Naan. All my pick up orders which includes Naan are not good. It is very frustrating to chew a hard baked bread. A good Naan served to a customer should not become hard and have freshness and softness.

I ordered Nihari and mix daal, because it was a Wednesday and mix daal was on special on Wednesday with two plain naans. Unfortunately I got butter naan with uncooked nihari meat. I asked the waitress to change naans and also I told her nigari is not properly cooked. She even didn t say a sorry. For me I don t recommend to anyone.

I ordered Silver Package on Eid-ul-Azha for 30 people. Quantity was sufficient. In Quality Every dish I ordered was tasty, reasonably spicy. All my guests liked the food and praised for it. I placed an order of chicken tikka masala with boneless breast, and chicken tnedori and the same specifics they gave me chicken tight and I really don t like it, that s why I ask for breast also, the girl at the front was very rude when I got there to pick up my order, she was in the phone when Igot there, and she signal me to shut up when I ask for my order I used to love this place, but it s not the first time they are rude or do a wrong order, the food also is not the same I used to come back regardless of the service because the food was good, but with this, I ll never come back, zero recommended

I order food for 90 persons in this restaurant but they provide hardly 50 persons food It s cheating when I call but they are not answering because they know that what they did.

They charge a dine-in fee. While the floor is dirty all under the chairs and tables. Lights are flickering on and off. And the music quality is terrible. Definitely not fine dinning enough for a fee to sit. We were also not asked if we wanted to dine in or take out. We found out about the fee when we sat down at a table. However, the food is absolutely delicious.

Used to be a great experience about a year ago. Just came back spent 90$ food quality wasn t good at all, the Karahi itself was sweet the chaat was too hard. The biryani had no bone in biryani. Plz do not come here.

Food quality and taste price for the quantity very good portion. But waiting time is the reason I took 1 star down. No other complaints. All other customer service is great! We did dine in and take out both and dine in is just superb like how they serve the food and etc. But take out is not bad at all either.

Had a very bad experience with Usmania Grill the last 2 times. Will think twice before going back again. Saturday openeniing hours advertised for 10am, tried calling to place an order for pick up, no answer. Drove there around 10:50am, door is still locked. No sign indicating late opening. They finally opened the door at 11:10, tried to place an order and was told that it will take 40 min. What a waste of our time. Previous time, I called to place an order for pick up and was told it will take 50 minutes, did not have time to wait that long Not sure what is hapoening with this place. Customer service does not seem to be their priority.

Edit Previously I gave this restaurant 5 stars. But unfortunately I have to change it to 1 now. Reason I ordered 2 curry items and naan. When I picked up my order I felt naan were cold. I asked the girl behind the counter why are naan cold and curry hot. Because anytime when I pickup my food everything feels the same temp. She said naan were ready before the curry. I just thought it was odd. Didn t think anything else. When i went back home and actually had a chance to have our takeout I figured out why naan were cold. They were actually old. They gave us staled naan. That was extremely disappointing. Why would u ruined your reputation for couple of naan.how much money can u save for giving old naan. If u have left over naan give them to the birds. Not a good idea. Next time I will go couple of blocks further to get my food from another restaurant.

The food here is bomb, but the service is a bit slow. I think its because they make everything fresh, or maybe it just takes a while for the BBQ to cook. But, the tandoori chicken and biryani were totally worth the wait!

Five Stars all the way. This is one of our most favourite restaurants. We have ordered from here for ages and the flavors have remained steadfastly tasty all these years. Not only are their Combos great, we also ensure that we place our Eid day orders from them. The most recent Catering order from them this past Eid-al-Fitr literally had our guests raving about the quality and taste of the Chicken Biryani, Chicken Kabab, Aloo Chana Chaat, Achari Chicken and the Tandoori Chicken. I also have to mention that the people who work there have always been friendly to deal with. All in all, an absolute gem that we are lucky to have here in Pickering.

When ex Toronto cabbies open a restaurant. Rude and arrogant. Health protocols are ignored. Customers being yelled at. Employing students and paying them $7 pee hour. No concept of hygiene you could see by the dirty nails of the chef/owner. Avoid and further avoid due to no respect will be given to you.

To be honest I have no words the customer service was top tier the food was soo good especially the nihari and biriyani were out of this world and they delivered it right to our house for a very good price saved us a lot of hassle the catering service is amazing overall just amazing

I had worst experience at usmania grill pickering location.I ordered butter chicken and naan and it was not freshly made.I was feeling like burning and had very bad stomache after eating it. I called the restaurant and they were very unempathetic and denied that they made everything fresh in the morning,but it was stale. Will never visit again not only this location but every location of it.

Ordered one of their catering packages for a special occasion of 30 ppl my guests could not stop complimenting the tasty food every item was delicious from main to desserts ehtisham bhai catered to my requests and even made an item that is not on the menu for them at all amazing food at a good price and of course the tandoori naan just are the icing on the cake I will be ordering here for my parties again for sure it s hard to find authentic and good desi cuisine around but this spot has the right idea and the right chefs thank you usmania grill for making my event a success

We got food for iftar it wasss horrible I mean horrible the butter chicken was juts water cravy with big hard chicken pieces the bryiani was soo old and cold it was sooo disgusting never coming again

Excellent service. The service staff I placed order was very courteous and polite. Ordered for 30 people catering package. I asked for on time preparation and pick up due to Ramadan. The order was ready on time and the food was delicious. Cooked to perfection. Taste was excellent. Not too salty or spicy as per instructions to cater seniors and accommodate people going for prayers. Thank you team Usmania for making my Iftar dinner a success. Keep up the great work!

The worse restaurant you will find. Every order here you wait for like 1-1:30 hour and then they end up always telling you we are out of a certain food and will replace it but will charge you more. The lady that answers the phone can t care enough. She is taking 2-3 orders at same time and almost always gets your order wrong. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Service is -1.

This place came recommended by a close friend, so we ordered some food to try and the order was not ready for pickup even though we were half hour late but we called to reassure them we were coming. Had to wait another half hour. Because the food was good and trusting my friends recommendation we ordered $200 worth of food for a party at home. I called one day before - they wrote my name and phone number and assured me it would be ready on time. Called on day of pickup and again they said it would be ready. Arrived on time for pickup and no one had a clue of my name or my order!!! UNACCEPTABLE. After calling twice?? And then we were overcharged!! There is no way this mistake could have occurred given our order. Either staff are incompetent or they are stealing by overcharging. Because I had done the calculation in my head, I knew the total did not make sense. Then the salesperson returned the money, although at first she argued that it was correct. (Always ask for receipts!) If anything, we should have received a discount for the stress and anxiety. REALLY really disappointed with the lack of organization and care. I was trying them out for an even bigger catering order but with the unreliability I will not go back to them. It is real shame because food is actually pretty good. But reliability and trust are more important. Last minute panic does not speak to either. Disappointed.

I am regular to this place , have great food specially naan and butter chicken is super nice .. but during my last visit Air condition was not working and it was super hot .. more like a kitchen .. we were sweating so much and could not enjoy our food . I hope the management take notice of such situation and rectify .. IF A/C is not working properly should have kept the doors open so that fresh air could cool it down a bit and should have note or something about non working ac so that customers might do a take away

Yesterday, I ordered a platter with biryani rice, but when I got home and opened the food, I was disappointed. The food was cold and tasted like it had been cooked the previous day. Initially, the rice was missing, but when I asked, I received an apology, and the rice was provided. However, upon checking at home, I discovered the food was completely leftover and very cold. Additionally, I was surprised to find vegetables in the biryani, which was a first for me. Unfortunately, my whole family has been vomiting since we ate the food last night. Providing excellent customer service is essential. Neglecting to do so may result in the loss of valuable customers.

Disappointing experience with this restaurant. The service was incredibly poor. I arrived to pick up my order, only to be told that they had supposedly called me multiple times, even though I received no such calls. They were sold out. Ha! Consequently, I wasted an additional 30 minutes waiting elsewhere. The lack of honesty from the staff was disheartening, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to others.

Came here for family dinner a while ago and it was good. The food was really good tasting. Got the BBQ platter, and Currys, biryani and enjoyed them all. The portion sizes for the currys are a bit small which is why its not a perfect rating from me. The bihari kebab was real good as well. However the second time we came back, the bihari kebab wasnt as good. So perhaps it may be a consistency issue. Still overall there is good selection and its worth a try.

I had a guest and I ordered food, then I called for an hour and they lied that Uber canceled and I ordered again. I called at 9:00 PM and the food was finished and they only sent vegetables, but they charged me for the full amount of the food. I asked them to refund my money. Next time we will count the money, while I have a bad memory and I will never order food from here, I have to tell everyone, if you want to have the worst memory, dont go to this restaurant.

Their chicken briyani used to be great. Recently, theyve changed the recipe and it tastes awful. You can find lot of potatoes and less rice in it. Not sure why they are adding potatoes in chicken briyani. May be a filler ??? Edit: No more potatoes. But the taste and style are not same as before

I have tried Beef Behari Kebab, Chicken Biryani, Tandoori Chicken, Palak Gosht, Chicken Chilli (Gravy), Lamb Korma (Gravy) and Haleem. I have visited it more than three times now. Their gravies are not good at all except Palak and Haleem. But BBQ is worth trying for sure. In appetizers I tried fish it was not that great. Overall most of the food taste like authenticity Pakistani cusine. Vegetarian options: They do have vegetarian options but U did not try.

Purchased naan and chicken kebab rolls. Firstly there was no mention/option in menu for a single or 2 kebabs. Secondly the naans we received were not fresh, rather cold and rubber like. Hard to chew. We were forced to eat only kebabs & discard the left over naans in wooded area next to parking Kebabs tasted good though

HORRIBLE FOOD!! Ordered 6 samosas and 2 chicken Biryani. The rice were dry and tasted more like dried white rice with boiled chicken, no biryani flavor. Moreover, the samosas were refried and had an oily taste. Don t waste your money here. A complete disappointment!

Excellent food & service. Love the shrimp biryani, its our family favourite. Tandoori chicken, butter chicken, lamb karhai, seekh kebabs, lamb chops, chicken jal frezi, channa chaat and chaat papri are our other favourites. Worth visiting. Recently tried their yummy beef and chicken kebab rolls. Simply loved them.

Their biryani and mutton karahi is too good. Even their halwa poori nashta worth eating.

Best food place in Toronto area! Wonderful service, I got to speak to the head chef ahtasham myself and it was a wonderful experience overall would definitely recommend to anyone that wants Indian/pakistani food

Terrible experience with Usmania branch on multiple occasions. Bought nihari and naan yesterday where Nihari had a foul smell and no gravy. Pathetic customer service

Latest review updated : We took a shot with Usmania again to order a party tray of chicken biryani, butter chicken and chicken Tikka. Though the taste of butter chicken and chicken Tikka was fair, the chicken biryani was next to horrible. It was pretty much dry biryani rice with small pieces of boiled chicken spread scarcely. Again a very disappointing experience. Hopefully my last visit to this restaurant. ---------------------------------------------------------- This was my go to place since the last 2 years . Our favorite was a Family Combo for 4 on a Friday. Well priced , good portions. But off late , they have cut down from 4 naans to 2 naans and curry portion sizes have been cut to size as well. The prices have also been increased. I wouldnt mind paying for increased price however , cutting size portions , reducing no. of naans and its size etc, does not entice me to go to this place in the future.

The worst customer service! We placed an order at 4:10 PM they asked us to come by 5:20 PM. We reached at 5:30 PM and the food is not ready ( the order was not even taken properly, incomplete order ) They said it will be another 45 minutes. We are a regular customer, the girls working are very unprofessional and rude where they don t even acknowledge their mistake.

I wanted to inform everyone that will order from Usmania Grill. The food is amazing. We had ordered a catering for 25 people and the service, food was amazing. The guests loved the food. Best place to order for catering. Amazing options.
