I was really happy with my dinner here. The food was excellent - very flavourful and just the right amount of spice. I find many Indian restaurants spice everything to their levels, which is usually overpowering. I like heat but prefer flavour. This spot nailed that fine balance perfectly. I usually ask for "Canadian spice" when I order to insure it's not ridiculously hot, but I forgot to ask as I tired and hungry. Thankfully, I didn't need to ask. They cooked everything just right. The only suggestion I have is that rice be included with each dish. If I had known I was only getting meat and veg, I would have ordered rice. Not a big deal but either include a bit of rice or put on the menu that rice is extra. I will definitely come back here to eat again.
Delicious food with attentive service! Took my wife and MIL to dinner, and we had a wonderful time! Everything was hot and fresh! Ordered veg and non veg items. Garlic Naan, butter paneer, fish tikka, rara chicken, rice, Gobi 65. Mango Lassi & Mango soda. Everything was nice and spicy. We went for level 4 it was just the right kick! Our server was on point, bringing us everything we needed, even napkins, without asking. Going with her expert recommendations made the meal very enjoyable 10/10 One issue the resturant needs more staff! Our server was taking great care of all tables without hesitation thank you Sora! (might have spelled her name wrong)
Good authentic food, very nice lady on the counter. No doubt about it at all. Just come and try the real Indian cuisine.
The ambience and service were good. Ordered Milanu's Fried Fish, Achari Chicken kebab, Tandoori chicken, Butter Naan and Paneer Butter Masala. Achari Chicken kebab was excellent. It was beyond my expectations. Butter Naan was too soft and buttery. Milanu's Fried Fish and paneer butter masala were too good. Tandoori chicken was not too good. Highly recommended
This was our second experience at Milanu and the food was excellent both times! Yesterday we had a big group of 18 and the owner was very accommodating, I had only booked for 16 but had 2 extra people and they made it work for us. The owner was very friendly and gave us some great suggestions. The food was super tasty and good portions as well. We had the flaming paneer tikka sizzler for one of our appetizers and it was amazing both in experience and taste. This is by the far the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in the Durham region. The only thing that could have been a little better was the wait time between our appetizers and main course as we had to wait quite a while for the mains but definitely understandable for such a big group of people. Amazing experience overall and will definitely be back!
Ordered food via delivery for the first time and our dishes were Karahi Paneer, Bhindi Masala & Baingan Bharta. All the above food items were hot and in good quantity. They also looked appetizing. The Karahi Paneer masala was rich and well roasted that had the coriander seeds flavour as one would expect in this dish. It was spicy and I liked it. The Bhindi Masala had the whole bhindi fried (instead of the usual cut pieces) which were crisp and tasted well with the masala. The Baingan Bharta was also nicely made and was delicious. It had the right amount of spices and I have not had this taste of baingan bharta at most of the Indian restaurants that I’ve tried so far so good job on that. The only thing that I noticed was the extra oil in all the dishes which can be avoided but overall they were great. I would recommend trying this restaurant and look forward to trying some other dishes the next time I order!
One of the best places for indian food in durham region. We ordered chole bhature, tandoori paneer, paneer masala curry and super naan. Everything was top notch and as it should be; close to actual Indian food that i have had here in a while. The staff were courteous and sitting arrangement was quite initmate. items are priced slightly on the higher end but certainly worth it. Would definately recommend it if you are looking to rry out authentic indian cuisine in Durham region.
I dont know how I missed this spot for so long. Pure authentic Delhi style Indian food in Durham region! This place is an Indian non-veg food lovers Heaven. We have ordered Tandoori chicken (which came in on a sizzler 😃) so tender and juicy, dal makhni was amazing, and butter naan was soft and tasty. The food was fresh and authentic. I would recommend anyone try this place. It really does feel like food for the soul. Note: The restaurant is clean and well-kept. I would recommend to reserve table before visit as they have limited siting option. Anyone who sees this review, mark my word, and try this place once.
I have tried this place couple of times - once for just my Tikki chaat cravings and other times for proper dinner. After my bunch of trials, I highly recommend their Tikki Chaat - so so good that it will give Indian street food vendors run for money. However, I didn t like their dinner preparation or Chholle Bhature. Mediocre at best. Vegetarian options: Plenty
Taste is good but pricing is ridiculous. $15 for 6 pcs of paneer tikka is a rip off.
Best chicken chow mein in whole Ajax and Pickering and also tried Chole Bhature they were served freshly hot with tasty masala chana, like the atmosphere and owner is very welcoming.
We are visiting this place frequently. Food quality and test is authentic Indian. Service is also very nice Vegetarian options: There is so many options for vegetarian families
Stick to Tandoori. Not Good for gravy dishes. Always too spicy despite telling them to keep the dish non spicy.
The most delicious biryani I have ever had Milanu s i recommend all my dear friends to come and visit Parking: Lots of free parking
Hakka is on point, first place that actually taste good. Got their schezwan chowmein flavor was good. One indian restaurant we really liked.
Picked up take out.good taste good portion Wheelchair accessibility: Largish lot Recommended dishes Dal Makhani Parking space
Food was really good. Please go and have a try. Chana bhatura was the best. 100% pure indian taste.
I had beyond and above experience. We did catering from Milanu for our daughter s first birthday and the food was way beyond expectations specifically paneer. Even our guests said that the food is really awesome. I would highly recommend Milanu for quality, quantity and budget friendly.
One of the best Indian restaurants. Their taste is authentic. A must try is their butter chicken, tandoori grills, garlic and bullet naan. Food
Always order food from here Not happy with Bhature yesterday It was look like half eaten by someone
Grate place to eat in Toronto Ajax area. We were first time and we like menu and food quantity and service..
I got takeout from here today and wow I am impressed. Coming from Brampton I was spoiled to lots of tasty Indian food, but I was struggling to find a place here in Pickering. I am SO happy I decided to give Milanu s a try because it did not disappoint. Flavours were amazing and heat level was actually great!! Can t wait to order again.
Tasty food, authentic flavors
Delicious food
Best Chana Bhatura that I have had in Canada.
If youre craving authentic Indian cuisine, look no further. Their dishes are absolutely delicious, with flavors that burst with authenticity. While they might be a bit pricier than other options, the quality of the food is well worth it. Its a must-try for anyone who appreciates Indian cuisine in the GTA.
Milanu s never fails to impress! I ordered Chicken chowmein and it was absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on, and it was cooked to perfection. I also tried their Chana Bhature, and it did not disappoint super tasty! On top of that, the customer service was excellent. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food and great service!
Got take out after a long day at the zoo. Samosas and chicken tikka masala were delicious! Will order again the next time we re in town. Yum!!
We ate here on a Saturday night, completely at random. The food was really tasty, fresh and good quality. The naan in particular was amazing! Friendly service and all for a very reasonable price. Would definitely go again.
The best catering service Ive experienced in a long time. Their indian spices are flavorful and not just spicy hot. Ive tried the veg and non veg and both are the best. Highly recommeneded
Milanu Grill was absolutely exceptional as our wedding caterer. The food wasn t just tasty it was extraordinary. Every guest couldn t stop talking about the delicious appetizers and mains, especially the live Tawa and the Shahi Paneer, both of which were massive hits. What stood out the most was their commitment to making sure everything went smoothly, even taking care of details that weren t their responsibility. Their dedication, professionalism, and incredible food made our wedding day truly unforgettable. We couldn t recommend Milanu Grill more highly! Thank you for making the day more special for us.
We ordered a shrimp dish and it tasted like chilli and water and when we spoke to the chef he said that s how it tastes, been a regular visitor to indian restaurants , this was one of the worst dishes i have tasted also when we informed them about it , they still charged us for the dish. Would not recommend this place
Pudina lacha parantha is the best here
I have dined in this place a couple of times and the food is good. Ordered a takeout today for Amrtisari Kulcha and they didnt give any chana (which they did during dine in). Upon asking we were told that chana is only included during dine in and not during take out which didnt make any sense. Despite the person accepting its wrong, she just shrugged that these are the rules. I had to pay extra despite this being included as a part of meal. Very poor service.
Great lamb
Highly recommend!!
Nice n
5 stars, absolutely! Not only do they have your typical Indian Restaurant dishes (Tandoori, Butter Chicken, Chana Masala), but they have a few more cheffy options, like Hariyali (my fave). Chola and Karahi curries. The Naan is exquisite and they do have an actual tandoor. Its been a few years since this review, and I would like to add that the food remains excellent. Recently, I tried the Tandoori Mushrooms and Tandoori Shrimp. Both had a lively, but not overwhelming, spicy heat, and also a rich smokey flavour from the tandoor.
Good food!! Non veg platter was quite nice, all appetizers were flavourful. In main course enjoyed Dal makhani and goat curry. Chole for channa bhature were very tasty!! Would recommend this place.
We enjoyed the food and kids loved the Tandoori platter
Excellent customer service and delicious meals.
Not a good place for Indian food. Majority of food is frozen.
This individual lacks the necessary culinary skills and is not equipped to manage a restaurant effectively. Unfortunately, Google doesnt allow for negative ratings, otherwise, I would have provided one. And even The food appears to be so poorly handled that even a cockroach would eat it and then immediately vomit.
It was really a great experience. Staff was very humble and kind. That front desk girl suggested best of your menu. She is a good employee.
Best Indian in Pickering, quality ingredients. Owner is very nice
I had vegan visitors from out of town who love Indian food, and saw that Milanus had vegan items. I went in to meet with the chef and he gave me an overview of the vegan options which looked amazing, so I reserved...and was not disappointed. All 7 of us loved the food (vegans and non-vegans!), especially the Palak Lamb and Tandoori Mushrooms (amazing). Chef is very passionate and was a pleasure to have him come out and chat with us. The food was fantastic.
Great service and very rich food !!
We ordered food for 40 guests. The food quality was authentic and the best. Everything was as promised including punctuality. Highly recommend this restaurant for your catering needs. You wont have any regrets. Its guaranteed.
Food was good, ready in a timely manner, chicken was juicy and the naan was soft. I ordered online which was really convenient. I value that this establishment sources their meat from a Halal supplier. Also, the owner Anurag is a gentleman! He is very well researched on many topics that we discussed but one thing he knows above all else is quality and taste. I ll be back to try other items.
Good food enjoyed it with family.
Food is really good but there is some room for improvement in service. We will be be back, hopefully management will address the concern. Food
Great food, quick service, polite staff. What more can anyone ask for! Thank you!
The tandoori butter chicken is so good and has a lot of flavour compared to other places I ve had butter chicken at! I highly suggest the food here especially for a date night or just with friends, shareable portions as well Parking: Parking lot is big and accessible
Pick up was not ready on time. Only option to pay via credit card when ordering takeout.
I am from New York City, my cousin took me here last nice for some Indian Chinese food! It was excellent!!! The chef was very sweet and helped us pick out the dishes that best suit us. The butter chicken and Lacha parontha flavor was exquisite. The style of the Indian Chinese food was better than majority of the Indian Chinese resteraunts I ve had in Manhattan.
My family and I have visited this restaurant a couple of times. Taste of food ( Chole bhatura, shola chicken tikka, thali) were very nice, quantity served is good and price is a bit...a bit on the higher side. Today we were a party of 7 people and I believe gratuity was already included in the bill. Before paying we have reconfirmed with the server again if gratuity was included? the server said tip is not included at which point we added more tip amount. After which we looked at the bill in detail. A bit disappointed that staff (probably new) misled us. We had requested the staff to return back the extra gratuity we paid. The server said, Owner is not in and once he comes, they may arrange for a refund. Anurag (owner) called back the next day and took our side of the story and expressed his apologies for the misunderstanding and reversed the additional gratuity tht was paid. It was a swift resolution provided by the restaurant owner. Keep the great taste and service going.... going.....going...
We ordered paneer Paratha and chicken Malai curry, the curry was awesome and Paratha was very freshly made and soft. The owner took care of smallest of details with food preferences. The place is highly recommended .
The person at the reception has no courtesy to speak to customers He thinks he is the owner And swears on you if he feels like Service : 1/5
Refused me a container for my leftovers. Had to buy takeout to get a container. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor. No button that I remember
Best Bhature and Tandoor mixed platter we ever had
Excellent North Indian food. My only issue is that the waiting time for everything is too long. (It seems like they get a lot of online orders and that leads to a much longer waiting time). So far Ive tried the tandoori platter, Gobi 65, honey chilli potato, chowmein, veg fried rice and Gobi Manchurian. I liked all the items. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options available.
I ordered the platter and paneer butter masala. Both were really good. I would definitely recommend this place for Indian food. Vegetarian options: Yes available Parking: Plaza parking Kid-friendliness: Yes, they have high chair and some activities for kids if you will request them. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor plaza shop, easy accessibility
I was with my 3 year old at place today . My son was insisting to get fries so I buy him fries from chicken and joy while I was waiting for my food at Indian restaurant. The owner came while we had food on table and asked to leave as no food was allowed from outside . I mentioned that we are already eating food and it s my son who is eating fries from other store . Owner mentioned that it s against insurance policy and also fried might have touched chicken. Wow !! You are serving non - veg too . It s a common sense that you don t ask someone to just leave because 3 year old is eating fries brought from other store . Please learn some customer service skills and some common sense while dealing with customers . WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN where customer is not valued .
A few days ago, I ordered food from this restaurant, and not only was it pricey, but it was also terrible. I was craving some daal makhani and called in to order. The Indian girl on the phone seemed like she had just arrived in Canada she barely understood me and took 10 minutes to take my order. She disappeared for a few minutes to ask someone in the kitchen, which I found odd, and I could barely understand her English. Long story short, when I went to pick up my food, the atmosphere was awful a 1 out of 10. The place was dirty, and a large man, who looked around 350 pounds, came out of the kitchen to serve me. I paid for my food and went home, only to find a small portion of daal makhani for $21.49, and it was tasteless. The naan tasted like it was frozen from No Frills. Restaurants like this charge high prices, but their quality and quantity don t match. They should close if they don t know how to run their business, cook, serve, or even answer the phone properly. If they re charging $21.49 for daal makhani and two naans, they should have someone on the phone who knows what they re doing and can take orders efficiently. Basic communication skills are a must. Also, if they re charging high prices, their restaurant should meet certain standards, and the food should taste at least 7.5 out of 10 I m not even asking for a perfect 10.
Disappointing Experience with Dishonest Pricing and Poor Service I recently visited this restaurant and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. First, the advertised special of a roll and drink for $9.99 ended up costing me an extra dollar. Additionally, I ordered chicken tikka for $16, and the portion size was the smallest Ive ever seen. The service was also subpar. The cashier struggled with processing our transaction, taking 15 minutes to complete it and giving us the wrong change. When I requested hot sauce on the side, the cashier initially agreed, but then spent another three minutes figuring out how to charge me for it. Overall, I found the pricing to be dishonest, the portions inadequate, and the service inefficient. I wouldnt recommend this place based on my experience, just cheap.
We stopped in for lunch for the first time today and were really impressed with the food. Excellent service, portion size and price! We highly recommend and can t wait to come back. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options available
Great food. Its one of the best places to enjoy a desi meal. From chaat to Soya chaap, from chana bhatura to daal makhani, everything was delicious and well cooked with balanced flavors. A must try if you are craving for Indian food!
We ordered the non veg platter, butter chicken and the gulab jamun. Everything tasted absolutely delicious and had authentic flavors. Definitely recommend
Best Tandoori Chicken and Malai kofta
A friend recommended this place and she took us there for dinner. One of the most delicious Indian food restaurants I have been to. There are plenty of choices of vegetarian and chicken dishes to choose from. The waitress was very friendly and explained the dishes we inquired about. Fair size portions all very flavourful. We did not leave hungry!
We recently visited this restaurant for dinner and let me tell you, this spot is run by a sweet couple who put their heart and soul into their food prep & customer service. Must try the flaming veg sizzler. One of the best paneer butter masala & soya bhuna chaap. Restaurant was very clean. Food might take a while to prepare but thats because they make everything from scratch. Im so glad they have Hakka Chinese too. Cant wait to go back there to try more of their delicious food.
So, I had heard lots about this place and finally yesterday I got a chance to visit. We ordered Tandoori Mushrooms, Tandoori fish tikka for starters and we ordered Tandoori Gobi masala and Ra-ra chicken along with tandoori rotis. 1. There are a lot of non-standard yummy dishes to choose from. even vegetarian ones. 2. Tandoori items were cooked to perfection, Mushrooms had that bite on the inside and the slight crunch outside. I could taste the flavours of the marination and quantity of mushrooms was quite a lot. Plus the chutney was yum, authentic and absolutely fresh! Fish tikka ordered by husband was delicious too. 3. Prep of Tandoori Gobi masala is very layered and is quite tedious but I could actually taste that smokiness and the tikka flavors in the gravy and their prep behind it was quite obvious because the dish was PERFECT!! 4. Finally had whole wheat tandoori roti which again was big enough and retained its softness in the evening too (I couldnt finish all of it at lunch & packed the leftovers & got it back home). 5. Our timing of going to restaurant was perfect as we were hosted by the owner herself :). Also, loved the fact that food isnt oily and there are so many options even for vegetarians and not just the usual paneer and dal dishes. The place is small but wishing you the best to grow from 36 peoples occupancy to an even bigger one soon (360 occupancy) :-) Cant wait to try the chana bhatura next ;) 27th April: tried the Chole Bhature today and yes, it was exactly like the Pindi chole that one would get in Dhabas in Delhi and nearby Highway Dhabas.. so Chole Bhature was nostalgic ... also we tried the veg & Non veg Thali.. gulab Jamun was the best in town...naans n rotis were so fresh and perfect texture ... paneer butter masala was again the most authentic one I had after a long time....but clear winner by all 6 of us was Dal Makhni .. it was just awesome... oh Yes we ordered Amritsari Fish Tikka again but I think it got over in flat 10 seconds . Thank you for the amazing time & food today... Vegetarian options: A lot of vegetarian options that you typically dont find in North Indian restaurants here like Tandoori Gobi Tikka masala, Hakka options etc and you can discuss with the person hosting if you can make it vegan.
The Manchurian was so delicious and I brought my dad home some butter chicken and he was very happy. Our favorite was the bullet Naan! Took a bit longer than expected but was delicious, and such friendly service from the kitchen! We will be back for a Sure (promise to take photos before we devour it next time!)
A very homely place is what I felt when I had the food here. We had the vegetarian and non vegetarian thali, Channa Batoora (hope I spelt it right) and a sizzling fish dish (forgot the name). The quantity and quality of the food was great. I felt I had great North Indian food after a long time. We sat for a bit and had chai it was lovely. I think the owners son was in and he was very humble and respectful. His customer service was to the point. I will definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to try good North Indian food.
The food is best over here, even the staff is also so cooperative and ready to serve you and explain the various food contrast tastes. If you like the proper Punjabi taste from Punjab then go for it.
The food was so so delicious and the staff was so co- operative and they also suggested us the best combinations of dishes which helped us lot while ordering food. The suggestions were on point. And once again the food was sooo good.
Staff were extremely friendly, service was fast, and food was very good! The take out lunch special had everything in it! Definitely a return customer
Do you like Indian food? OMG we have a jewel of a restaurant in Pickering. The family went for lunch today, Mothers Day 2024 Excellent! Delicious! Try the Milanus fish curry& chicken vindaloo Parking: Handicap Parking very accessible. The sidewalk slopes Wheelchair accessibility: Very Accessible Parkingemployee
One of the best Punjabi Restaurants in Durham Region, Authentic chicken curries with the fine test of pure indian spices. Rara Chicken with Bullet Naan is my personal favourite. Highly Recommended.
Food is good compared to other restaurants. Wont be disappointed
Great food, only thing is the portions could be a bit bigger! Great service as the waiter offered various refills on the waters. I recommend the chicken tandoori
This is one place, I would highly recommend, food gives a a very familiar delhi wala taste, which is rare to find in GTA. One thing I would highlight is there breads, lacha paratha and naan are not fluffs like how all other indian restaurants offer in GTA, There breads are really very well cooked and served. Not every one can make good breads. Recommendations - Seekh Kebab - Tandoori Butter Chicken - Malai Kofta - Lacha Paratha - Masala onion salad. Thanks to Anurag who is a very nice host, and a food lover which shows up on the food taste that he serves.
Amazing food. Best North Indian cuisine.
Good experience. Good service. Good food!
They have amazing food one of my favourite Indian restaurants very underrated
Amazing experience. Thank you, Anurag
This is another restaurant trying to position themselves as authentic Indian. The good story is that they have tried to replicate the Indian taste in their meals. The sad part is that they think they have been able to do it. Their food is great for white people who know nothing about Indian food, but the brown crowd would find them very average. Their meals taste like cooked from purees and premix packed products. The bread size is good but the veggies portion is not enough to finish the bread. Like they give good size bhature with little bit chole with 2-3 hidden aloo in it, probably to cut down on the cost. Then they slice the onion and cut that single slice into half and serve it, which anyone would finish with their first bite. They expect you to pay few times for the extra chole and onions that you would need to finish the bhature. Extremely overpriced for the quality and quantity they serve. Here, Im adding to my review just to answer the owner. Brother when I visited, your restaurant was empty. I was the only person eating there and obviously you didnt eat with me. And by your logic, if someone is sharing a meal, only 1 person would eat bhature while 3 people would eat chana? Did other 2 people bring chapatis from home to finish the Chana? Irrespective of how many people eat the ratio proportion has to match, which I feel is odd in your restaurant. Seems, youve taken an offence. Ive got nothing against you. I just didnt like the food and portion. My review doesnt make your food good or bad. Its just my personal opinion. Still there would be many whod like your food. God bless...
We ordered food and their Hakka Chinese is really delicious and perfect Indian Chinese taste. We tried Sweet and sour chicken, chicken manchurian and both were awesome. Looking forward to having chicken lollipop on the menu
Food tasted great with service as well. A bit pricey though.
Had the chole bhature , schezwan chicken noodles + chicken Manchurian. Really great food and the service is also nice. Highly recommend
Visiting friends and family in Pickering, I got the hankering for some Indian food. Picked up my usual favourites and I was not disappointed! The flavour was very good, but I didnt find the portions quite as large as I usually get from other restaurants. Service was great! The person behind the counter was very friendly, and the online ordering experience was pretty smooth. I was particularly impressed by the courtesy call when I entered my address (being in another province) just to double check that I knew the restaurant wasnt in my home province. Next time Im in the area, Ill be back!
A few days ago, my friend and I visited Milanus Tandoori Grill. We enjoyed butter chicken, lamb biryani, and garlic naan along with laccha parantha and chicken tikka. The meat that was used in every dish was so tender that it practically dissolved in my tongue. Im an international student, and the service was great; it felt like home. Overall, my friend and I had a great time and would suggest that everyone visit this place to try their curries, especially the non-vegetarian barbecue options.
The food was full of chillies and chole full of baking soda.they cannot customize spice level for you.. everything here is pre- prepared.. the ambience was dead. Just one tubelight over reception and we all were eating in dark. Service pathetic.Plain Glass of water did not arrive even after asking like 5 times. They forgot to punch in 1 out of 3 items in my order and told me about it when i finished the 2. so they made me wait another 20 minutes. Not going again.
Good food with great taste. We tried tikki chaat and veg chowmein and it was spot on. Will definitely visit again.
Amazing food, amazing service, hidden gem. Recommend to all.
We got catering done for an event and the food was amazing. They provided us with the food on time, and with a special container to keep everything hit. The food satisfied even the most pick of eaters, and was tasty while not being greasy. Special recognition for the butter chi Ken, the gajar ka halwa and the delicious Naan. We have been back since.
Got the chicken masala with garlic naan and butter naan. It was so good!! Definitely recommend
Had the worst experience of my life last weekend when I suffered from severe food poisoning. I threw up more than 20 times in 2-3 hours and had to rush to the emergency. I ordered dahi bhalla chaat, soya chaap and veg biryani. I knew something was wrong when I had the first bite but I couldn t say if it was stale or just didn t taste good. I couldn t finish my food because the food definitely seemed stale so I left it. An hour later I realized it was a mistake ordering from here.
Nitin sharma provided best service Food
Definitely recommend butter chicken!!
The food wasn t upto the mark. The curries were not good at all. Naans were good. The tea served seemed to be re-heated. The cutlery served was old and dirt ridden. Wouldn t recommend.
Their Karahi Goat is the best thing you will ever eat!
Food was fresh, authentic and delicious!! Will definitely be back and highly recommend - thanks for a wonderful meal !
Really.. this restaurant deserves multiple visits.. awsm everything.
Grabbed takeout with my husband a week ago. Ordered the butter chicken, naan, and lamb biryani. We did not even finish any of the food. Called the restaurant to say it made me feel extremely sick and that I was throwing up. The person I spoke to wrote down all my information and said someone would get back to me. It s been awhile and that has yet to happen. Thought it would be best to write a review and warn others as apparently the owner did not want to call back and make things right.
Excellent Food! We ve ordered take out twice now. Biryani , samosas and naan. All delicious; we love it. The spicy samosas are not to be missed; if you like spicy things you must try these. They have more of a spring roll wrap than their traditional samosas and they are excellent. Their traditional samosas are better than that king place across the border in Scarborough; they are packed with veg and flavour. Their lamb biryani is our fav; the lamb is tender and succulent while the rice is spiced nicely and the portions are huge! Check out this Pickering gem; this place deserves some attention.
It is a hidden gem, and l say that as I have not had Indian food that hits home, like this place, in a very very long time. Their food is prepared fresh and most of their dishes dont use frozen ingredients and so is their lassi made fresh from scratch, which was the best Lassi in Canada so far (for me)
Felt unwell after eating from here. The food was oily. And didn t taste good. I got the butter chicken and rice. I called the owner and told him that I had got food poisoning and he told me that it must ve been from somewhere else and didn t even apologize when the only thing I ate was from there. Wouldn t go here ever again. Update: The owner responded with a complete lie. I ate my Uber eats order 2 Mins after it was delivered.I hope whoever you give food poisoning to next time will report you to the better business bureau because I rather not bother. Plus why would someone get food poisoning for something being at room temperature anyways (which was a lie anyway).
Awesome food
I wish there was an option for a minus star. The food was pathetic service was not at all existing. We ordered a few veg and non veg options and everything was so bad in taste i could barely gulp the curry and naan with the taste it had. Not at all value for money for the quantity we had and the taste and service we received it was very very bad. Hope they take their reviews seriously. Vegetarian options: Very bad taste for everything veg we had ordered
Just visited this place, but flavor-wise, it didnt impress. The Karahi chicken had an unexpected sweetness, and the veg curry was too spicy felt like eating pure mirchi powder. On top of that, some surprise charges. Not exactly my taste haven, wouldnt recommend for a flavorful experience. Decide cautiously if youre looking for a predictable taste experience.
The food and service was very good. Prices are bit on higher side with respect to food portions.
I am not sure about authenticity of many reviews here. Its an average grill. The grill dishes ordered as shown in photo were ok , but not s good as some grills I have gone in GTA. Waiting for food was almost one hour for the dine in, we were only dineninn customers. Still . The dhal makani was very bad and we three got problem in stomach after coming home . And karahi chicken was reheated and tasted bad. Drinks were not up to standard. And quantity given for these curries were so less compared to other Indian restaurants.
Best butter chicken and naan
I decided to go here after seeing the variety of options on the menu, but the prices online were much cheaper than dine-in, plus the food wasnt even that great. The quantity was very little, and overpriced, definitely not making it worth it. I got two drinks, which were advertised as a Valentines special but what I didnt expect was for it to be $13 each. I saw this after looking at the bill, but I found the price unreasonable. They werent that big and were only strawberry mojitos which you could get at any other restaurant for around 6 or 7 dollars. Wasnt happy with my visit, and dont recommend going here.
I wish i could give negative rating. Worst food experience ever. First of all we didn t told you anything about other restaurants taking Ids or not we were having discussions in our group. And we gave you the id and had our drinks you are one who is talking about the id stuff we are not judging you for your policies. Now coming to food I know we ordered spicy food but that doesn t mean you can serve chill power gravy with some chunks of panner. We didn t like your food that s the reason why we wrote the review why you taking it personally. Please try to improve your food. We visited your restaurant first time and we checked the reviews and it was good but the food we tasted was really bad. In my thoughts it was the worst I ever had. And you guys charge for pickle as well and we were not informed about it as well. The reason I ordered the pickle was so I can eat roti and pickle as your spicy chill power panner gravy was so bad I was not able to eat a single bit of it. Improve your food and stuff!!!!!
The worst experience ever please dont vist there location by checking their reviews I experienced the worst restaurant experience ever.
A Culinary Masterpiece: Chole Bhature Delight! Rating: (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of indulging in the culinary delight that is Chole Bhature, and I must say, it was an absolute feast for the senses! This iconic North Indian dish has found its way to the top of my list of favorite comfort foods, thanks to its impeccable taste, rich flavors, and satisfying textures. First and foremost, lets talk about the Chole the spicy and flavorful chickpea curry that served as the perfect companion to the pillowy-soft Bhature. The Chole were cooked to perfection, with just the right balance of spices that tantalized my taste buds without overwhelming them. The chickpeas were tender, absorbing the essence of the aromatic spices and creating a heavenly blend of flavors. Now, lets move on to the Bhature the fluffy, deep-fried bread that was an absolute revelation. Each Bhatura was a work of art, golden brown and puffed up to perfection. The crispy exterior gave way to a soft and airy inside, creating a delightful contrast that added to the overall dining experience. It was evident that they were freshly prepared, as the warmth and freshness lingered with each bite. What truly set this Chole Bhature apart was the attention to detail in its presentation. The dish was garnished with finely chopped coriander leaves and served with tangy pickles and finely sliced onions. The combination of these elements enhanced the overall flavor profile, making every bite a journey of taste and texture. The portion size was generous, making it an ideal choice for sharing with friends or family. The restaurants ambiance and friendly staff further contributed to the overall positive experience. The Chole Bhature not only satisfied my cravings but also left me with a lingering desire to revisit this culinary haven. In conclusion, if youre a fan of authentic North Indian cuisine or just looking for a meal that will transport you to a world of flavors, Chole Bhature is an absolute must-try. This dish at Milanus Tandoori Grill has certainly set the bar high, and I cannot wait to savor its delectable taste again. Highly recommended!
Chole Bhature at Milanus Tandoori Grill is an absolute delight! The chickpea curry is perfectly spiced, and the Bhature are fluffy and golden. The portion size is generous, and the overall dining experience is top-notch. A must-try for anyone craving authentic and delicious North Indian cuisine!
Food was delicious and taste too. Very Good atmosphere and service.
Food and services was amazing. Definitely going to visit again. Vegetarian options: Channa bhutra Food : 5/5 |
Service and food were great!

Omg the food was the best me and my family had ever had. Have to give this place a try. Manager and staff are the nicest. Food was so good I had to ask for recipe
Excellent food and service. A hidden gem in Durham. Anurag was courteous and detailed and took care of our guests. Must try. Im sure youll be happily surprised.
My partner and I tried this place for the first time and our taste buds were blown away. We will definitely be coming back. #PickeringProud
Finally found delhi style chole bhature in gta. Fish tikka and butter chicken are also amazing. Will explore more dishes in the coming months. So far in my experience, Milanu s serves Authentic Delhi style food. Restaurant is also very clean
Amazing experience. Best customer service ever and the waiting time is so less. Best part is the chinese. Loved chole bhature as well. Overall best experience ever.
The chicken was out of this world, definitely right about bone vs boneless, bone wins haha. Everything was great, the atmosphere was amazing and everyone was super friendly, will come again
First time tried the restaurant. Not gonna lie, it had the best Haryali Chicken i have tasted yet in Canada. Food portions were great and food was delicious and tasteful. I would definitely go back to try more items in the menu. I had a meal with Kadai Paneer and Naans, best mixtures of spices and paneer i tried in a long time. The owners were great, very welcoming and friendly. One of my favourite spots for Indian food now.
Recently went to Milanu s for dinner. Ordered the butter chicken, chilli chicken, naan and their Hakka chow mein. All dishes were superb. The Hakka food is a recent add to the restaurant s menu - pleasantly surprised by how good it was. A high recommend. (Try their Garlic Naan!!!).
The host was amazing. We had Chicken Chowmein, Chilly chicken gravy and Sholay chicken Tikka. Everything was outstanding. I was craving the true flavour of Indian Chinese and Indian cuisine, I definitely felt this place justified and matched my taste buds. Definitely worth a visit. You won t be disappointed!
I had been recommended Milanus by my cousin. I finally went here with my mom. I had the Pindi Channa Bhattura. It was very good. I didnt know much about this type of channa, but I thought the flavor was very good, the owner was there, and he told me about how this is the typical style you would find in Delhi. Which is different from the style that you get in rajdhani. I do wish they gave the pickled carrots that you normally get with this dish, instead it was like a different pickle which I dont really like very much. The owner also answered my questions, like why is Chicken 65 called 65? (apparently that was the address of the place where the dish was invented). Anyway, this is a must try place in Pickering Vegetarian options: THere are many vegetarian options. If you are vegetarian you shuold be able to get something for yourself here easily
The food was absolutely amazing! First time here for my family and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. Our server Ruchika welcomed us with a friendly smile and great recommendations. She was extremely hospitable and great with our kids too :) Our family loved the Tandoori grill, Gobi Manchuria, ras malai and gulab jamun .
Best butter chicken I ve had in Canada. The food was so good I forgot to take pictures. Will be back in the future
Food was not tasty and overpriced. Chole in the bhature was awful. Edit: it seems that owner is not open for critical reviews. There are plenty of low ratings for your place. It would be great if you can work on them to make it a better place. So that many customers would consider visiting again. Thanks. Food
One of the worst experiences in terms of quality of service and attitude of the owner. Food was okay. Dont want to write much . Prices are very high as compared to better food in west side.
Chicken vindaloo came with 9 small cubes of chicken that were very tough and dry. Chicken with tomato paste would be a more suitable name rather than call it a curry. Garlic naan was tasty but a little well done.
Awesome food, great ambiance, good choice of music
Good food, great ambiance, helpful staff & on time service
We ordered chana bhatura it was really yummy !!
Looking for an Indian restaurant with big flavours?? Malianus will Not disappoint!! We have been to many Indian buffet restaurants and they all seem to be like the Mandarin, BLAH with a hint of flavour. We ordered a Lamb dish and I do NOT Lamb, however the Lamb they cooked was so delicious there was nothing left. No disappointment here!!
Food was amazing. Service was great quick and pleasant . Definitely recommend for a simple night out with family
Fantastic authentic Indian cuisine and friendly staff. Flavorful and spicy without the burn
Thank you Anurag & Milanus team for the incredible food and follow up customer service. The food was delicious, with every bite scrumptious and filled with flavor, skill and culinary soul. Thank you and much appreciated. Will recommend Milanus to anyone who is is a food lover or not
The ultimate Tandoori eatery in Durham when it comes to . We opted for the Tuesday special, indulging in a mouthwatering quarter chicken a truly delightful experience. The samosas exude a remarkable freshness thats simply a must-try. The service, overseen by both the proprietors and the server, Snowbi, is truly exceptional. A top-notch destination offering unbeatable value for your non-veg platter cravings. IG: @allfoodiesnamaste
We visited this place for brunch on Saturday. The chhole bhature are simply divine and very close to the pindi chhole from Delhi, according to my accompanying Delhite friends. Very friendly service and fantastic food quality and hygiene. It is obvious that the owners are passionate about their food. All the very best to you guys!
Delicious curry dishes! Friendly staff as well
As a Delhiite, this has been the best chholey bhaturey meal Ive had in my 21 years in Canada. Enough said.
Vegetarian options: Chole bhature Food
It is one of the best Indian restaurant in Durham region. The food is super delicious and so fresh. They even have daily specials which is a must try. I highly recommend this place if you are craving Delhi style food.
The food was incredibly fresh and the owner and his son were amazing with regards to recommendations. They were patient and asked the right questions with regards to the flavours we were looking for. The whole team takes huge pride in fresh ingredients and high-quality food. I would recommend anyone try this place. It really does feel like food for the soul. Note: We got take-out so we didnt receive table service, but from the attention the team showed, I would assume it would be fine. The restaurant is clean and well-kept.
We chose Milanus Tandoori Grill for catering our baby shower event in Pickering. The owner (Anu) is an awesome guy who provides a high level of customer service, attention to detail, impeccible pricing, and most importantly the best tasting Indian food in Durham! All of the food was delivered exactly as described, and exactly on the time that was promised. Lots of people at our event were complimenting the food (Especially the chole and aloo tikki) and asking us where we got the food from! A+++
Great tandoori
Fist time I ve ordered from here and it won t be the last. The food is excellent and honestly the best I ve ever had! If I could give 10 star rating I would! Well done Milanu s Tandoori Grill restaurant! Happy customer!
Friendly, delicious. I was thrilled to discover delicous Indian cusine close to home. My family and I ordered from here when they first opened and have continued to ever since. Staff is freindly, able to anser any questions, and always deliver amazing food. We like to get the Non-Vegetarian BBQ Pack #2 which includes tandoori chicken, fish, rice, and naan; perfect meal for a family. I also enjoy their Chicken Tikka Masala and Dal Makhani. Try something new and support Milanu!
Amazing place. Even better food. Simply great!
We tried Vegetable Kabab, Punjabi Veg Pulao, Dahi Bhalla Chaat and Mint Lemon Mojito. Everything was very tasty. If your craving for Delhi ke taste ke dishes then definitely try Milanus. You will love it.
First time - and it was incredible!!!! We are so happy to have a local curry that is amazing! Portions and price top notch.
Food is amazing and so is their service. Chaat papdi is so good, naan is always fresh and soft. Chana bhatura are a must try. Food
The yummiest Chana Bhatura in Scarborough! Must try!! I had been craving the original Punjabi taste and this place has granted my wish it s delicious! Pindi Chana tastes exactly like it used to back home I ordered via Doordash so no comments on service or atmosphere.
Plzz come vizit this place and must try chole bhature
The food is absolutely phenomenal. I had Chicken Seekh Kabab, Fish Tikka(To die for), Shola Kabab, Chole Bhatura, Amritsari Kulcha, and ended with Gajar ka Halwa(Carrot Desert). I must warn you. Once you eat here, you will never be able to eat Indian food any place else. Kid-friendliness: Lot of high chairs.
This is the only place where we go for Chana Bhatura, Soya chaap and actually for good food . Love the food at this place and the owner too is very friendly. He came to our table to make sure everything was good.
After reading such good reviews I decided to give this place a try and I was not disappointed. I was met promptly by a very nice lady. She seated me and let me look over the menu. The dining room was immaculately clean. I had some questions and the server was very helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding. Full of flavor and spiced just right. The garlic naan was amazing and accompanied the chicken tikka masala perfectly. I recommend this place to anyone!
Ordered Chola Bhatura and it was swimming in oil. Had to throw it out
Milanus, a dining haven that embodies culinary excellence, provided an unforgettable gastronomic experience. We got catering for a party of 20 friends and everyone was in love with the food. The heart of our meal was the fish, which was a true masterpiece. Every morsel of this tender fish dish melted in the mouth, showcasing the chefs unwavering commitment to freshness and quality. The flavors of the Chicken and Mushroom dishes were exceptional. The entire menu at Milanus exudes an attention to detail that elevates every dish to art. Quality is paramount, and it shines through in every aspect, from the choice of ingredients to the presentation on the plate. Each bite was an adventure, a journey through taste and texture that delighted the senses. In conclusion, Milanus stands as a culinary gem that leaves an enduring impression. If you seek a mouth-watering food destination that values freshness, quality, and the exceptional tenderness of their meat dishes, this restaurant is a must-visit.
I ordered food from this place for my baby s first birthday party for 25 people. The entire process starting from discussing menu, food portion, delivery was nothing but pleasant. Anurag is gem of a person who really cares about his customer needs and satisfaction. From the starter to the dessert, the quality and taste of everything was excellent. All my guests loved the food and asked me about the place from where i ordered it. The service we received was amazing so we will definitely be back again. Anurag and his team made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. Highly recommend this place!
Spicey chicken samosas were light, crispy, flaky, tastey delights. Rara Chicken was deeply flavourful and combined well with the Biriyani Rice and delicious Garlic Naan. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. She very kindly offered us a complimentary desert for our birthday celebration and even changed the soundtrack to a Happy Birthday song. Well definitely go again. Enjoy!
Must try Delhi style chole bathure.
Great food. Must go.
Delicious food and very friendly service, every time we visit. Thanks, Milanu s!!
Update(26Nov, 2023)- Top notch quality and service is what Milanu s delivered to us. We had ordered catering for 25 people for Diwali 2023 lunch and everything was super tasty. Even before delivery, Anurag explained the entire process patiently with every tiny details. It was nice every-time I talked to him and felt that my order is in good hands. I appreciate the suggestions he provided for deciding menu items and assuring the quality, delivery and taste of food. Food was delivered on time with care and portion sizes were more than expected. Everyone loved the food and kept asking about the place we ordered from. I was busy at hosting so forgot to take pictures of lip smacking food to post for this review. Menu Items we picked - Starter - Veg Kebabs and Kurkuri Gobhi Main dishes- Paneer Masala, Aloo Matar Paneer & Daal Makhni Rice - Peas Pulav Raita - Boondi Raita Bread - Butter Naan Salad - Garden Salad Dessert - Gulab Jamun I had dine in experience prior to this with Milanu s and I have always loved the authentic Delhi food. Their Chhole bhature are best in GTA. We will perhaps always use Milanu s for catering from now onwards and highly recommend that anyone looking for catering or dine in or takeout for authentic Indian food, go for them without a doubt! Lastly, A big and heartfelt THANK YOU to Anurag and his team for delivering best quality and service. Old Review- One of the best authentic indian tasting food in Durham. They make everything super tasty and food portions are great. I have tried aloo kulcha, chatpata chaap, chhole bhature, main dishes and breads, rolls etc. Basically lots of items from their menu and everything is pure indian taste with right amount for flavors and spices. Highly recommended.
Delicious food, welcoming host, great ambience and great selection of food. Channa bhatura is a must. Lamb palak was delicious. Rara chicken was amazing. Ill be going back for more soon!
Excellent food and dining experience
This place hits my top list for Indian food. The people who work here are very kind and welcoming. The food is tasty. It s made on the spot and you can taste the difference when I am part of town is my go to place for a nice meal, and a smile, I gave it a four star on the atmosphere. The only reason being that I believe that they can improve is the more warm lighting to the restaurant itself. Otherwise this place is immaculate very well run and absolutely amazing.
Desi Hakka Chinese Food! Mind blowing and highly recommended @milanus Pickering
Food was okay, their naans are the best and other dishes are okay (not bad and not excellent) The low rating is for their service, haven t seen such a bad service in recent years. I can put my whole experience here, but don t want to go into more details. Response to store s reply; Service is not only about price and time. There s more to that. If you remember, we have left most of our left overs there itself and even politely denied your complimentary dishes. Your response is complete lie, we never worried about paying extra for gol gappas or we had plenty of time and never asked to get the food sooner. Our concern was about your service compared to other customers. Explaining about the food or providing menus and dealing with children. The color pens/paper were given after the table next to us. Your response says how low you can stoop and defame your customers when they are not happy with your service.
OMG, I can t believe this place, it s beyond awesome!!!! You won t even find this yummy food in Brampton. Their Tandoori stuff is beyond 5 star. I highly recommend this place. If you love to eat high quality and super tasty food then this is the place. I love it every time I come here.
Very bad experience never ever going to order from this store i ordered ras malai and dal makhni from this store for dal makni there was no makhni ni daaal at alll and for ras mali it was a joke very less quantity
Perfect, literally couldnt have been any better. Amazing staff and food! Our favorite was the aloo tikki and the chicken (Shola) was some of the best Ive ever had. Food : 5/5
The food was wonderful! The owner was so nice and funny! My sisters were very happy ( this review was from a kid). We had a delicious meal, would definitely recommend the Chana Bhatura, it tasted like real Delhi street food and Biryani it was very delicious I just read some reviews, and I ve seen some bad reviews, and what I would like to say that, I think that he has seen these reviews and would like to mend his ways and I respect that. I had a wonderful time here!
The food was excellent. we have ordered catering for 35people for our son s birthday. Hopefully our guest enjoy the food the same way we did.
Had a wonderful experience along with the wonderful and delicious food.
Best north indian food in pickering, Specially veg poutine fries & veg platter were remarkable; moreover the hospitality by the staff & owner both were outstanding
food is very tasty nd great customer service
Excellent flavor in my lamb curry tonight. Restaurant was clean, service was good and if Im ever back in the area will definitely eat there again.
First time trying this place as I live close by and the food quality is amazing. Price is really good with great portions. Their daily lunch specials are amazing with the best prices in Pickering. Aaron was amazing and accommodating. This will be added to my go to spots. Thank you Aaron!
If you havent been here, you are missing something! We stay in Toronto and make sure to visit this place whenever we are around Pickering. The food is so good- last time we bought the kebabs, we couldnt wait to get home to eat them and had to stop in between to eat! Highly recommend the Shola kebabs, fish Tikka and lamb. Im salivating just thinking about the food. I have tried it for take-out, it is convenient to order ahead and go collect the food. I personally havent tried the dine in, but the place can seat around 30.
Excellent Ambience, food is great, their chicken starters and shahi panneer were very good. We celebrated my nephew and husbands birthday and they gave us complimentary gulab Jamun.
