I'm not a pizza person at all (I know right?) and it's probably because your typical pizza place just has bleh pizzas. But can I just say - even the simple pizzas here: cheese pizzas, pepperoni pizzas, are FAR SUPERIOR than any other I've tasted. Gino's Famous Pizza is my go-to spot for last minute playdate dinners, and so far no one has been disappointed!
Not prone to writing reviews but this was the best take out pizza I have ever had and I know pizza. Hawaiian with onions and hot peppers. Chunks of onions and peppers. Actual pieces of bacon. Just the right amount of cheese and a solid body too hold it all together. My wife and (mostly) I can normally crush a large, but this was so filling and satisfying we only did half. Having the rest for lunch today. Can't wait!
Old school takeout pizza. Got two three topping specials. Well executed. Reasonably priced for the size of the pizza and number of toppings. We got them thin crust, well done and that was key IMO.
Your typical old school nostalgia takeout pizza shop. The gentleman was very helpful in making me upgrade to a large for only a dollar more which was well worth it. Pizza is okay. It's a type of pizza you would order for the kids for the soccer game or for poker night or to watch football. Nothing extravagant nothing out of this world
Here visiting some family, we happened to come across this pizza place, and got the pizza by the slice, pepperoni, and Hawaiian. And oh wow, this was some delicious pizza!! I highly recommend this place. We will be coming back next time we are in the area visiting family..
I recently placed a takeout order from Gino's in Pickering, opting for their signature panzerotti with pepperoni. This is a place I've frequented over the past 12 years. While their customer service is always good, the flavor of the food has been hit and miss. The customer service at Gino's has always been commendable. Their staff is friendly, attentive, and ensures that your order is handled with care. However, when it comes to the taste of their food, it has been inconsistent. While some orders have been flavorful and satisfying, others have left something to be desired. One standout characteristic of Gino's panzerotti is its size - it is undeniably large, bordering on almost too big for a single serving. This can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it offers good value for money as you get a substantial amount of food. On the other hand, it is lacking in taste. Unfortunately, my last order highlighted a significant issue with the food preparation. There was an excessive amount of cheese, which ended up dominating the entire dish and overwhelmed the other flavors. This lack of balance was disappointing and took away from the overall enjoyment of the meal. Moreover, I must mention the less-than-pleasant sight outside the front door. The presence of big spider webs and spiders around the entrance might seem like a minor issue to some, but for individuals like myself who simply dislike spiders, it creates an uncomfortable environment. While I understand this is not within the restaurant's immediate control, addressing this matter could greatly improve the overall impression of the establishment. Overall, Gino's has its strengths, but improvements in taste consistency and cleanliness would enhance the customers' experience.
TLDR they would rather steal $5 from a neighbourhood customer than keep one who orders often. They gave us the wrong change today and didn't recount the till but just argued with us. My son gave them $5 extra in a stack folded that his dad gave him to pay. The cashier took the folded stack, didn't count it, and gave him a change that was $5 short. Sure, it's his fault for not counting it out. She then argued with him about the amount he gave her. I called to speak with the manager, and the cashier passed the phone to someone. When I asked if they were the manager, they said no and asked if they could take a message. I said no, and finally, this manager came on. When i told him what happened, he lied and said that they watched the camera 3x and recounted the till, and it was right. He said on the camera he knows we gave them $65, but there's no way he could have seen it as it was a folded stack. He then said my son could have dropped it. We're done. Things have changed in the past couple of years - pizza often takes longer than they estimate and is often either burned or just barely cooked. You can find better pizza elsewhere. Unless you’re okay with eating roughly 3/4 of the food you order.
I always enjoy the food and service. So many toppings! The panzerottis are huge and delicious.
This is the only Ginos pizza! The others just dont compare!

I recently went back to Ginos, our local pizza spot, after experiencing poor service under the previous management. The pizza quality tends to be inconsistent, but its convenient. During our last visit, we ordered a Hawaiian pizza which was shared by two people in our household. I had leftovers from the previous night. Unfortunately, the two people who ate at Ginos suffered from food poisoning 6-8 hours later. It looks like its time to find another spot. Do you have any recommendations?
The cashier rip off my son for $5. We called the manager but this guys is even worst. Management have change, customer service went downhill. That s too bad. We order from them all the time and for $5 they definitely loose us. Shame!!
Food is good but they shouldnt ask for a tip when you pick up yourself
The pizza is fine, taste like regular pizza from the school cafeteria. My review is for the owner, it is quite hot outside and you are not turning on your AC on! Your poor employees have to work in the heat, maybe if you made sure they have a properly work environment they would make better pizzas! My order was for take out and I had to wait for my pizza and I couldn t imagine having to work like that!

Havent been here for a while, but I recently moved back to the area. Ordered a walk in 3 topping large. Just as delicious as I remembered. They dont skimp on the toppings. Once again my favorite place to get pizza!

Little pizzeria not bad
THE PRIZE FOR 1 SLICE OF PIZZA HAS INCREASED BY A DOLLAR. It used to be 4 dollars but now it is 5 dollars. I see my friend coming out from school and come to the store with 4 dollars, the cashier said its fine, but I think they should go back with 4 dollars again. I get it is instillation or whatever its called but I felt bad for the kid (my friend). Please change back to its original prize which it was 4 dollars.
Very disappointed with the last 2 pizza orders from Ginos Famous Pizza. The crust is burnt and the toppings are wet. Just really awful. Definitely avoid this place in the future.

Terrible! Burnt badly on the bottom of pizza. The crust was like eating hardened powdered flour! Horrid. As a note: We have had pizza 5 times from Gino s over the last couple years. This was our last attempt of ordering a decent pizza. Final try so to speak. We will never order here again. 5 strikes and you are out. Order from here, take your chances. Odds are 5 out 5 your will get a horrid pizza. I think the positive comments for Gina s family must only come from family or friends as we have NEVER had a good pizza from here. BTW. The ignorance and rudeness of the owners is absolutely astounding! The only saving grace for Gino s is sometimes they have a nice and friendly student at the front desk or answering the phone. Do not be deceived. They are only nice and kind for a short while till they quit or get fired. Miserable owners.

AMAZING pizza! We recently moved to the area and have been missing our old favourite from back home. Gino s Famous was recommended as the neighbourhood original and I am glad we gave it a try. Perfect pizza, looks just like the pictures. Cooked perfectly (not too much and not too little) and dough is delicious. Very generous with toppings and they are FRESH, yet do not make the crust soggy hate it when that happens! Leftovers heat up well and taste just as great. The Caesar salad is enormous, fresh and delicious. The panzo was just okay. I wouldn t try it again but will stick with the pizza. PLEASE DO NOT confuse this place for Gino s Pizza on Bayly, which is a chain and is trash. They have paid people for fake reviews to boost their score and people are leaving reviews here that are meant for the other place. Don t be confused and make sure to eat here at Gino s FAMOUS Pizza and you will not be disappointed! In business for over 20 years and there s a reason why! Support local and not the disgusting chain.

Hey guys. Great pizza dough but you delivered the wrong order to me! I cant reach you guys cause youre too busy right now. I chase the delivery guy down the street but he didnt see me! I cant eat onions so this pizza is covered in them. But it looks good.

We have ordered on many occasions. I do not like tomato sauce on any pizza. The first one was Supreme with bacon and then we ordered the meat lovers. Let s just say we don t make it home around the corner with more than a couple slices left. The pizza dough is nothing like the big box pizza joints. Light and doesn t make you feel bloated after eating. Love your restaurant!!

Best pizza Ive had from anywhere in the GTA. I drive from Markham to get pizza here. Every part of their pizza is delicious. The crust, the sauce, the cheese, the toppings - its all top notch. On a Friday or Saturday evening, its usually 25-45 mins if you order a couple pizzas.

Biggggg Panzo I love a deep fried Panzo. I wasn t expecting the size of this Panzo to be large enough to feed a family of 4. Service was fast and efficient. We drove from Scarborough to Pickering to support a family business. It was like biting into a lightly deep fried pillow, with the perfect amount of doughy chew and stuffing. Just 1 Panzo is going to probably last me for another 2 meals!
One of the best places to get a slice and is a hidden away gem! Grew up getting a haircut nextdoor and always followed by grabbing a slice from Ginos after. I always look forward to pop in here for lunch when Im in the area. Keep up the great pizza and service!

I come here regularly (my waistband can attribute that). Excellent pizza all around. My only criticism is that if/when you buy a slice, they reheat it for too long and it sometimes burns the pizza. No complaints other than that. Their meat lovers pizza is stellar!!!

The place is small with no seating. We had to wait for half an hour which was fine but by the time we got the pizza it was burnt and crispy. Not worth the money. The service was ok. The girls behind the counter just kind of stood there quietly until we were ready to order.
Too much oily good for stomach cleaning
The pizza is inconsistent. 2/3 times I ordered it was burnt and they asked me if I wanted it done again and I said yes. They were great at doing it the 2nd time but this happened twice. I had to wait an extra 15 minutes both times for the pizza to be redone. I had called in all 3 times and had to wait longer. I won t be returning because it always seems to be burnt.

Very rude staff. After an hour and a half waiting for my pizza, I called and asked about and he hung up on me. I called back and he just kept hanging up on me without answering. I called back from a different phone and explained what happened and he got all mad at me. Ive been ordering from here for years. They make good pizza. But Im done with the very rude attitude.

Best pizza in town. Worth the drive and wait. Best most friendly service. Plenty of toppings. I am hooked. Theres always a fight over the last slice. Tastes better the next day too. Forget everywhere else. I love this pizza. Try deluxe! I know food and this is amazing!!!

Moved to pickering 2 years ago finally a good mom and pop shop pizza !!!! Love the pizza here ! Ask for extra cheese u get extra cheese and they dont skimp on toppings . Great pizza .friendly service . Well done !

Order 2 pizzas got a mediun cheese and a large 3 topping. The price of the medium cheese so expensive for the size of it.i mean i order from here a lot and this medium felt a lot smaller then usual. When i called back to confirm what we got she told me no thats our medium and that was it. This will probably be the last time i order from here . I added a picture of the boxes big is a large and the small one is suppose to be a medium

Theres just something about the crust that makes it soooo good. I come from 2 towns over because our location is nothing compared to here. Staff is always friendly as well.
No pricing was available on the site, no break down was provided on the bill.. two extra large pizzas and two garlic breads $100!!!!!! Honestly didn t think I had to ask for a price .. would have never of ordered had I know that.. the worker who took the order never offered the total and seemed to be bothered that I said the price was absurd.. her response to put the phone down and say this lady think it s too much unprofessional

Usually come here for the panzerotti which is gigantic. It will feed 3 people for sure! We recently got their large pizza which was cooked perfectly with the right amount of toppings. The gentleman behind the counter was nice and courteous, I believe we even saw him give free drinks to some kids that were biking for free. Really great spot, will come again for sure

Our go-to local pizza joint. Order ahead and I mean WAY ahead. We ordered at 2pm for a 6pm pick up. They are always busy and usually during a dinner rush, it will take an hour or more for your pizza to be done. Plus, its always great to bypass the line and know your pizza is ready when you arrive.

The panzerotti is delicious. But, they need to work on the timing. We called ahead and they told us to come at a certain. We arrived 10 mins later and our order was still not ready. They gave us our order (2 panzerotti & 1 pizza) 30 mins later than they estimated.

Pizza was soggy like someone dumped a cup of water in the middle of it. Also asked for thick crust and it was barely average. Terribly done. Sloppy disgusting pizza that I even paid a 15% tip for. Never again. Never ever again.

Growing up in Amberlea is was a lifetime debate between Ginos pizza and Stars Pizza (Gone too soon but never forgotten) as an Amberlea native I refused to believe that Ginos was better than Stars. A popular debate/question on the Pickering s Neighbours Facebook is who has the best pizza in Pickering? And to my surprise Ginos seems to be the most popular opinion could Pickering people have an unsophisticated palette? Do they not venture out? These were all the questions I was asking myself when reading the comments on this group I finally decided to put my pride aside and try this Ginos Pizza place WOWZers!! Ordered the OG cheese and pepperoni. When I opened the box to take a look at that bad boy is hit me like a tonne of bricks- a beautiful piece of art similar to those you d see in the Louvre. It felt like I was looking at the cheese pizza Kevin McAllister received in his NYC limousine when he accidentally flew there by himself. Very fresh toppings, great under carriage- not too floppy. Solid 8.1 out of 10. 100% would recommend and return in the very near future.

Hands down the best panzerotti in the GTA! It s crazy huge and more than enough for 2 people - tastes great baked or fried (I prefer it fried slightly more). They re extremely generous with toppings and the dough is light and fluffy.

Absolutely amazing Pizza! Its a local favorite for a reason. The staff is very nice, their pizza is cooked to perfection, good options for toppings. The toppings also are not thrown on haphazardly like most places do. Their garlic bread, and chicken wings are also great (good size as well). If i am ever in the area and craving pizza, Ginos is the only place i go to.
