East Side Mario's in Pickering

we waited for 15 minutes before server show up to our table . we try get attention by waving hands to staff but nobody cares . food is average. the calamari should be sizzling but it was soft

We went to this location for the first time today. It is large, the employees are very friendly, but the service is super slow. It wasnt very busy on a Thursday night but we waited over 20mins and asked a couple of times until a server actually came to our table. Same thing happened at the end while we waited for the bill. We were seated towards the back of the restaurant and it was empty by the time we finished our meal, perhaps they forgot we were still there? Having said that, our server was very friendly and kind. We all oped to add on the unlimited soup, salad, and garlic bread. We really enjoyed the tomato soup and Calamari al diavolo - our server recommended adding shrimp to it, which was a great suggestion. The unlimited garlic loaves are fresh but we only managed to eat one loaf between the three of us, its quite filling. Probably better to go here at lunch when you have a bigger appetite! The menu is very meat-heavy, with limited seafood and vegetarian options. The kids drinks are very whimsical and is actually what got us to come into the restaurant! I wish I knew that they offer Scene points here, I only found out now while reading some reviews. The server shouldve mentioned/prompted it.

Emma and Liana are wonderful servers and keep us coming back often!!

I always go here with my parents and siblings and my family can be pretty annoying so God bless the staff for always being so great.

I have to say, I have not experienced this degree of service, care and hospitality in a long time. I never thought Id be wowed by an East Side Marios, but this location wowed me. The soups were really tasty, my kids loved them. The spaghetti and meatballs was delicious. Service was so lovely, pleasant, easy going. I must say a special thank you to multiple staff who jumped to my little guys aid when he got his finger stuck in the door at the front and offered bandaids, and all sorts of treats to try and make him feel better. This was so sweet, and such a character move to see how many staff were just trying to help. We truly appreciate all the staff here, and thank you for making us feel like we were visiting family!

Was really disappointed with the service today. We were seated quickly and then were left sitting at the table. Ignored no menus, no service. Left after 20 minutes. It wasnt busy. Thats OK. We went to Perkins better food and service. Try the pot roast. Its just like Grandmas.

Delicious as usual! Lots of salad!!! The main meal was a little small but that ok when you have unlimited salad.

They have kids eat free every Tuesday now! Mark invited my family to come out next week and was a pleasure to speak with.

Don t say you re open til 10 when your doors are locked at 945. Change the hours to reflect reality so people aren t rolling up from far away to be greeted by a locked door.

The food is great here! I got the salmon and it was delicious, but the service was even BETTER!!!!

I prefer to order regular size food instead of the lunch.

Waited for 15 mins and nobody came to give a table. Terrible customer service, terrible management and poorly run restaurant. Don t waste your time or money going here. Other locations actually respect customers time and money.

Blen was amazing

Our server - Kim, was amazing! It was my first time at East Side Mario s and she made it a wonderful experience. The food was great, Kim made sure to check up on us frequently which was much appreciated. I highly recommend this place and if you get Kim as your server, know you re in great hands!

Erica stayed on top of all of our needs. Refills on soups, salads and bread. Even our drinks were refilled without having to ask.

Not normal for me to make such a review, but yesterday evening for dinner was another level of disappointment. The server comped the meal I couldnt eat due to it being very cold and not worth eating. Main courses took over an hour to arrive at the table. Hard pass for me and my family next time looking for a place to eat. They even messed up chicken fingers for a kids meal.

My little kids love eastsides but as an adult Im divided. The food quality and portions arent the best but fine. The service has greatly improved recently versus the past few years. They do have some very good deal days, like kids eat free Tuesdays etc. Should I mention one server in particular is quite robotic in his behavior? I think his name was Alfredo! Kids love him every time.

Really enjoyed our night out with friends here. Everyone was friendly and kept the salad and bread flowing. Will be back real soon.

My dad and I frequent the bar at East Side Mario s. Erica always provide us with great and speedy service. The beer is also a great price!

We had such a great time at East Mario s for my daughter s 9th bday. The manager, Katie made sure that all our orders came out on time and tasted delicious. She made sure that all our needs were taken care of. Wait staff were friendly and professional. Highly recommend East Side Mario s!

Our group : boys basketball team with teens and young adults / we wanted a family restaurant to spend a time together after our games the last weekend / unfortunately the menu was too expensive for some of them, with no option in the menu to keep it under 15-20$ which is the per diem they have from us. / So, many went to others place around and some of us stayed, we had a good meal and the service was on point. But sure it was more expensive that we thought.

The food was okay, nothing to rave about. I am writing this review in disappointment with not getting the ayce salad. I could swear on the menu it said included with my option. I ate a grilled chicken wrap with a tomato soup thinking I would get a salad. The point of my family coming was to eat the salad. I won t be attending east side Mario s because I was misled and as a single mother, this was a treat for us.

Our server was Lavin - she was fantastic! She had to deal with some more challenging customers but remained very professional and helpful. She was very attentive throughout our whole meal. She was excellent to deal with.

Our work place had catered in for a going away luncheon, the food was very fresh bread was lovely fabulous salad (just watch out for those brown lettuce leafs next time) Over all really nice!

Had a catering order and it was delicious! Mark did an amazing job helping us set it up. The pasta was full of flavour and the bread was warm and tasty. Can t wait to order again! Thank you to mark and his team.

Question for management? Why do you advertise all you can eat soup or salad but youre only allowed one at a time? Some people, like me, like to eat soup and salad together. Plus, if you give people that option, servers can be more efficient with their time.

This was my first time visiting the east sides Pickering location, I had a great time at the Pickering location! The chicken parm was to die for and I loved the tomato soup! The atmosphere was amazing and I couldn t ask for a better time! Thank you so much east side Mario s!

We decided to go there at the tail end of our family vacation. Our server was wonderful and friendly. I wish I could remember her name. My child had spaghetti and they loved it. My partner and I had a special. I had a chicken parmesan and if I had any complaints there was too much food but nothing a takeout box cant handle. My partner had chicken tetrazini and he said it was great. Overall it was wonderful. Kid-friendliness: Their kids menu is small but exactly what you would expect. Entrees come with a drink and dessert. Kids get colouring placemats and crayons.

I was looking for an Italian restaurant near me and had been actively searching. I had stumbled across East Side Mario s in Pickering and I was incredibly satisfied. Not only was the food excellent but the waitress named Haymanot had provided astonishing service for my family and I. Haymanot was incredibly efficient and helpful and created a very satisfying process for us. Will come back again!

Recently dined at this restaurant and had an all-around excellent time! The calzone that I had was delicious, along with my lemonade. I had a great experience at this location. I especially commend my waiter, Sonya! She was very attentive and kept checking in on us. This place struggles with death, I used to go there at least once a month and every thing was amazing. Today I went and the restaurant was not busy, just few tables, they have seated us and the table was not stable and keep shaking, I asked the servant to change the table and she said she will put something to keep it steady ,then she brought napkins!! and absolutely nothing changed so I asked to move to next table, she gave me attitude and took me to another table, I ignored her attitude, I ordered from main entrée which comes with all can eat salad and soup ,I always order the soup and salad together, the servant denied my order and he said he cant bring both together and said you have to finish one to get the other one, so I left the place and I asked to talk to manager who didnt try to do anything and keep saying that it is a new system, I felt that I am in kindergarten and teacher is teaching me I have to eat my Sandwich before eating the candy, it is really disappointing, CARA ,are you okay with this policy ,east side Mario without all you can eat salad and soup wont survive in the market.

My husband and I came to this restaurant again after experiencing issues with cold food with other visits to the restaurant. We only came to this restaurant again because we had been given a $25 gift voucher. The restaurant had a horrible stinky smell Like stale smoke.When we got out food Again it was look warm, cool. I couldn t believe it!! I had something different Pasta and it was warm on The outside and lukewarm cool on the inside and my husband had The meatball sandwich and it was lukewarm cool inside and it was supposed to be with 5 meatballs and only came with 4 Which is an improvement considering last time it came only with 3. We have been to this restaurant too many times and keep having the same issue over and over again and will not be back to this location ever!! I would not recommend this location. The service was pretty good, but the food was absolutely horrible. It was so terrible that I ended up getting sick from the food on this visit. We both asked our server to communicate with the kitchen to make sure that our food was hot on the inside and out which she said OK too. I feel bad for the servers that go out of their way to try and make us happy and then the kitchen goes and screws it all up. (The only reason we kept going back time and time again is because management and our servers kept promising us that things will be different on our next visit which they were not!)

Went here with my wife and kids to celebrate our two year anniversary. Its actually where we went on our first date when we met. I dont know if it was all luck because it was our special day but everything was amazing. All the food was cooked amazing. We had the all you can eat pasta and the kids had the pizza and chicken fingers. They said both were great. The bread was the best its ever been. Maybe it literally just came out of the over but it was perfectly warm and soft. So good. The chicken Alfredo and the spicy sausage pasta (forgot the name sorry) were really good. The spaghetti and meatballs the meatballs were good but I really didnt like the sauce at all. And the last one was fine but it literally just tasted like baked Mac n cheese. Not a bad thing just not really my thing. The new iced tea lemonade drink was amazing so refreshing I really loved it. Got the non alcohol version. The staff was great as always at this location. Had a great dinner for our anniversary thank you. And sorry our baby wanted to sing lol. 1 year old found her squeal lol.

Great place for kids, but the food was awful. At the end of the day, the food needs to be good, but the entres tasted frozen and bland. Their roasted potatoes are just frozen wedges. Their Hell s Kitchen chicken is just a frozen chicken patty.

I came into eat a couple days ago and my server maylat was an absolute sweetheart, making my dining experience even better. The chicken parm was beyond superb! Im already planning my next visit just for another great experience!!

Always a classic and reliable lunch trio but the true credit goes to an amazing waitress. Blen was perhaps one of the best. Efficient, friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Including some much appreciated extras - lemon slices, dressing, Parmesan to name a few. Thanks for making our girls lunch so enjoyable.

3 of us went in for lunch at 2pm on March 25th. We stood at the door for more than 5 mins with the Server looking over and sighing but not greeting us (no hi, no be right there, nothing). Finally my husband called her over for help and she asked how many for a table. He said 3 for a booth please and she said well then youll have to wait and tossed the menus back down. We turned around and left. We will not be going back to this location - so many other options nearby.

Nasty place, smells bad burned chicken and the other plate had a string metal in her plate. This restaurant should be checked by local health for cross contamination.

One of my favourite places to come to for a quick and yummy bite! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. Came here on Saturday for my nephews birthday.. waited 15 min for a server after asking for one, once she came she didn t even apologize for the wait, ordered our food and drinks with her she brought ONE home loaf and no water we had to ask for water and utensils for all you can eat she didn t even ask if we wanted more bread or salads we didn t even bother asking because we were frustrated with the wait & it wasn t even busy, she brings out a birthday dessert for my nephew and leaves it on the table literally whispering I hear it s someone s birthday all this BEFORE our main course comes out and no one sang and clapped happy birthday like they did to other tables on the other side .. my nephew was upset as any kid would be... food finally comes out which was warm not even hot , she never came back to see if we needed anything this was so disappointing.. i have never seen a birthday dessert come out before a main course & with no other offering of a dessert menu to the rest of the table definitely not returning here .. she had no expressions or even tried to engage at all .. very sad ..

Pizza was good and food didnt take too long. But We waited well over 15 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order which was odd because it was not busy on a Saturday around 3pm. Then we didnt see her again until we asked for the bill and left. Our glass was dirty and the table or our plates were not taken away. It was an uncomfortable meal which is surprising for a known restaurant chain

The pizza was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of toppings and a deliciously crispy crust. The calamari was fresh and tender, perfectly seasoned and accompanied by a flavorful dipping sauce. The service was excellent, with attentive staff who ensured our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish.

Came for lunch with my family and since the moment we stepped in the door our experience was wonderful. From the friendly greeters, to our amazing server who was so great with our kids, to the food which was hot a delicious! The manager stopped by to check on our experience as well which I thought was nice. Such a lovely afternoon out of the house. Will definitely be going back to this location more often!

Food quality has gone way down. Salad were tasteless and limp. Caesar salad consisted of white rind of the lettuce. Tomato sauce is flavourless and chicken parm was very thin, small, tasteless so far too crunchy. Electronic food delivery system kept showing up at our table with dirty food on it. This is the second Time I have noticed the food quality take a nose dive.

Iv had arabiata pasta before and loved it but it didn t feel the same anymore.. I could barely eat it.. or the ceasar salad.. Buddha boomers, tomato soup and dessert was good for the Amore Thursday deal

Shiann J was so good, on time and on top of everything! she did an amazing job and we waited for nothing!

Shiann was the best server Ive ever had at this location. She was attentive to us and always made sure we had refills and all you can eat salad or bread. I will bring all my friends back here just for her service.

Overall wonderful experience! The staff were very friendly, even amongst the busy holiday hours, and the manager was very pleasant and accommodating. Will definitely be going back soon !! Vegetarian options: My husband is a vegetarian and he had lots of options to choose from. He loves the pizza options at ESM and we often come here as they accommodate him so well!

I decided to stop in at East Side Mario s last week as my partner and I were in the area and craving Italian. I remembered how much I loved East Side Mario s! Liana was our server and she was fantastic. She was very attentive and made our experience great. We ll certainly be back.

I was here with my sisters last week and we had an amazing time. Our server was Hasna and she was honestly such a sweetheart. She was so attentive and was always checking on our table, her service was above and beyond and I will definitely be coming back!!

This is an average, older chain restaurant. Very good for older guests that are not very accustomed to eating anything too complicated. It suits people that have kids and want Canadian Italian food. There are places in the area that have better pizza and better pastas and within the same price point, that I can take my first generation Canadian friends and they will not ridicule me. There is nothing particularly crave worthy in the menu that makes me come here, other than when elder friends and family are involved and it is the company and decent service that is important. I would not have left a detailed review, and just left a quiet average 3 (for me average is ok, I dont object too much or refuse to go average place) but I dont like being poked to give up any more time to provide feedback for an ok experience. Branded franchises have whole departments for that and this restaurant has been around for at least 20 years, so must have some sales data.

Went for dinner yesterday with my family. My kids got their food, but my husband and I did not. The server was polite and kept saying that our food was coming, but it never came. The waitress kept asking if we wanted more salad or soup, but we just wanted our main meal. My kids finished their food already, but my husband and I still did not get our main dish. Another lady came by and said that the kitchen staff was so busy and lost track of our order. Sure. We ended up asking for our food to go as it was getting late and our kids werent going to sit still and wait for us to finish our food. Needless to say that my husband and I did not enjoy our cold food at home. I wouldve assume that our meals wouldve been complimentary, but we were given $10 off. Sure it was a good gesture, but we were not happy with the whole situation.

We went for Valentines Day. We were seared very quickly, the service was great and the food was good too. The only thing is that we were overcharged on our bill, and I didnt notice until after I got home. This was likely unintentionally done, and when I called, I spoke to Mark, who was very happy to help rectify the problem. He was very kind and genuinely apologetic, which I absolutely appreciate. The server was great, and Im sure she didnt even realize shed done that. Id recommend this location to anyone who wants to attend @ at Eastside Marios.

I came out with friends and we all enjoyed our meals. The food was absolutely awesome.. Thanks to Candy, I was our waitress, and she was amazing. I highly recommend that everyone request Candy to be their waitress...... Food

I recently dined here and had a fantastic experience. The service was impeccable, and the food was delicious. They had an incredible Valentines Day deal with generous portions I couldnt finish all the food and had to bring some home. Highly recommend!
