I m sadden that I ordered the lunch deal for this location especially after it was an option online. But then get there to pick up my lunch but get told it was cancelled WITHOUT being told until I get there, and that the lunch deal isn t run at that location. It s a shame, as I like the lemon and herb from here but if this is how it ll be then I won t becoming here anymore. Even more of a shame as I ve highly recommend it to my coworkers since we work in the office building in the same plaza.

Never in my life have I ever experienced worse service, we ordered the family feast. everything was good but we didnt like the peri potatoes as we thought they were a bit raw so we asked if we could replace them. The manager was a older guy and came up with an attitude, he began poking our potatoes with a skewer stating they werent raw and that we were cheap trying to get food for free, snapping the skewer in rage. Unbelievable, treat customers with respect especially if you are a manager. Incredibly rude service will not be back.

I recently had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. While most of the meal was fine, one item tasted undercooked. We politely informed the server and asked to speak with the manager. She seemed hesitant but eventually agreed to call him over. When the manager arrived, we calmly explained our concern. Instead of listening, he rudely dismissed us, claiming the item couldn t possibly be undercooked as they check everything before serving. We clarified that we didn t like the item and felt it was undercooked, asking what could be done to help. Shockingly, the manager snapped the sticks he was holding, and began yelling, accusing us of trying to get free food. He even claimed we come all the time (this was our first visit). We asked him to remove the item from the table, but he refused, got even angrier, and said he could do whatever he wanted. We had already paid and didn t want anything for free, just a resolution to the issue. As he continued to scream at us, we started recording for our own protection. He then stormed off across the restaurant, stood behind the desk, and started recording us while still yelling. He refused to come back out or engage with us in any way to resolve the situation. Overall, this was an extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable experience, and we will not be returning. This guy clearly has mental issues and should not be managing a restaurant. Disgusting.

They offered to make us another but we didnt want to waste the food so we ate it... The chicken was overcooked, almost burned and on top had that dressing, it wasnt that bad but we didnt like it.

It s always nice to eat here! My husband and I s go to food. The staff are friendly and accommodating Sometimes it s taking time to wait for the food specially when there are a lot of people but it s worth the wait. They prepare the food FRESH! So, I make sure to call before lunch time for takeout. My personal favorite is the TACOS!!! the best! my husband loves the Quarter chicken with Peri Rice! But they also have this Hot Box Deal for 12.99 only (Three pcs of grilled chicken with 1 choice of side - we prefer Peri Rice!)

Ordered for the first time from this Restaurant and I m impressed. The customer service was great, I had some issues with the delivery service I was using, called the restaurant and they were able to help me with the issue and even wrote me a little personalized note on my order! I definitely felt heard, and even though it wasn t their issue, they took action and honestly left a great first impression on me. Now moving on to the food, the chicken was well marinated and juicy. It was cooked well and was super tasty! My husband also enjoyed our meal, when he s not even a big peri peri fan, so that says a lot! Great new spot in Durham, will definitely be sending everyone I know over!

I ordered three burgers for dine in which cost about 32$. But what I got was not even worth 10$. Such a hard bread, OMG. I literally had to pull it hard using full bite force. Is burger bread supposed to be that rigid? Just one flat piece of chicken with lettuce leaf and two tomotos topped with mayo. Thats all you get in a burger. Is it your secret recipie? Cant believe. Worst burger I ever had in my life time. I also ordered whole chicken for take out. This was average. 3 stars to it.

I had such a positive experience at the restaurant! really enjoyed the delicious food and appreciated the exceptional customer service. I highly recommend this restaurant. The lady who answered the phone was so nice the manager was amazing, because I called in thinking I was missing a salad and he told me he remebers my order and packed the salad, so I was told I was beleived when I said I wouldnt lie, even though he remebers the salad was included and then he described what the box of salad looked like and to check again. I couldnt believe it, I found it according to his discription and thought he was the nicest manager with a lot of patience. He treated me so nicely. Such kind employees with excellent communication. Came to Galitos Pickering on Sunday and it was our first time trying their food. We had the two leg chicken with two sides. They were able to split it into two plates as we wanted different spice level for each piece of chicken. They were so kind and accommodating. Portion sizes are big and the flame grilled chicken was juicy! The peri fries had the right amount of kick and peri rice was also delicious. I definitely reccomend this place!

Placed order for lunch for a group of 13 people, a day before, for pick up. I got some good suggestions for the order by the staff as this was my first time at this place. The order was ready for pick up when I got to the place, with my name written on the bag in a beautiful hand writing. The staff helped me put all the trays in my car. Food was plenty and very yummy. I came with my family for iftaar and we ordered the party feast. The place was clean and Edwah was kind and welcoming. They even provided us with dates and water to open our fast with. They made sure everyone got their food at iftaar time and everything was fresh. The chicken was cooked perfectly and fries you could tell were just made too. The rice was very flavourful. Just for some context - Im a big fan of Nandos, and Ive been looking for alternatives. Have tried many peri-peri chicken places, but none have come close to Nandos. Except Galitos. This is probably the exact same taste if not better than Nandos. Also, shout out to Asheer who took care of us, who is the owners son. Very friendly customer service, and food was amazing. Fries fresh. I personally love the white meat chicken. Environment was excellent, food was excellent, service was excellent. Ill be coming here biweekly. Dont let the negative reviews phase you, Im glad it didnt phase me. I found a gem and they found a loyal customer. Oh and they had a Ramadan special so for the family meal I only paid like $35, which was an absolute steal (same meal goes up to $70 at Nandos).

half decent food with garbage service guys we picked up two whole chicken combos on April 6/24 at around 6:45 pm as we walked up to the cash the short Indian girl didnt greet us any way she just stared at us, didnt even bother asking us if we needed any help, she just stood there mute. Asked her for peri garlic sauce she literally threw them in the bag and it leaked in the bag once we got home, no ketchup for the fries no napkins in the bag, she didnt verify the items with us either before we left. i still tipped her 15% but thats just me though Parking: decent paking space

Keep in mind the double shrimp skewers meal in the photo was $19.22 (tax in). I recently visited Galitos Flame Grilled Chicken in Pickering on April 20, 2024 evening. Unfortunately the food was very underwhelming with very small portions. It was our first time at this location, we ordered a 1/4 chicken with 1 regular size (we chose coleslaw) and Double Shrimp Skewers with 1 regular side (we chose piri veggies), all for a bit more than $40. The portions were disappointingly small, especially considering the price. The 1/4 chicken was one drumstick and another small piece. The price exceeded what I would pay for a similar meal at Nandos. For the 2 shrimp skewers with piri veggies, the girl at the front noted the size of shrimp and that we would get 5 shrimp per skewer (2 skewers = 10 pieces of shrimp). When we received the shrimp, it was a lot smaller than she described, however I noted there was 6 shrimp on 1 skewer -- while that was a nice gesture, it was definitely not worth $16.94 (plus tax). You can note the portion sizes for the 2 shrimp skewer in the photo. The veggies were mostly carrots, and while they topped it with zuchini in the photo, there was a notable absence of the zucchini, red onions, and red peppers in the rest of the dish - it was mostly all carrots. In terms of flavor and quality, Galitos fell flat. The chicken lacked flavour, despite the options of spice level. Options are halal, which may be why there are more positive ratings (or perhaps there are other reasons), as there are not many other halal options in the area. Galitos Flame Grilled Chicken Pickering really falls short in value, taste, portion size, and price. Based on this experience, I will not be returning.

Great little place with some of the best grilled chicken Ive had in Durham and the hot sauce they use on it is out of this world. Highly recommended for anyone who loves spicy food.

Went today for dinner .The food was taking more than 30 mins to come .I went to the counter to inquire ,people who had come after us were served before us .Seemed like there was a confusion in the kitchen .The young guy at the counter when inquired why our order was running late said it s chicke6, we can t serve it [email protected] was the most appalling answer .His answer should have been Sorry for the delay ,we are running behind in the kitchen .When the food finally did arrive ,it was bland and that all tasty .Never going back .

Honestly, this is a great family run business. The food we had for our dinner was fresh, hot, tasty and just perfect. We ordered a few whole chickens, wings, skewers, peri fries, peri potatoes, peri vegetables, peri rice and coleslaw. Each item was delicious and was very fresh. We came as a large group and had amazing customer service by the husband wife daughter and remainder of the staff. We will definitely return many times in the near future. The restaurant was very clean, bathrooms were clean and honestly we have no complaints. Keep it up!

First time at one of these chains. The chicken is packed with flavour and well prepared. I tried the rice and fries and was not disappointed. The family meal was a hit at home. I did try some of their cakes, really liked the red velvet cake. Highly recommend.

We are visiting this place since beginning of the startup in NOV 2023. The taste is consistent and amazing place to eat, the sitting area is clean and really great for larger groups. the srvice is awesome compare to other Galitos locations. Must try their Family Meal and chicken lever. They are starting Pizza as well. The servers were amazing and provided information on their specials all in all a really great place to take family and friends. Kid-friendliness: Kids love this place. Really disappointed with this restaurant, the food is very good but the management or whatever the manager was some older guy when I spoke to him was very rude.. I went in on Tuesday afternoon, grab food for me and some coworkers, Placed an order and waiting around 10 minutes for food, which was not an issue, Went back to work, and when we went to eat lunch, I had noticed that my order was wrong was missing pieces. I had called the restaurant to let them know I had even asked before I let them know just to make sure I wasn t incorrect the order what the combo included, When the manager got back and spoke to me, he asked me to send proof via photo, Which I texted him as well, and all he kept saying was that I m incorrect and even accuse me of blackmailing him at the end because I told him that the service was terrible and I m gonna let people know on Google, and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, he got very rude and disrespectful with me . Never going back Update, they also seem to be terrible with customer support online as they respond with a generic response asking to contact them but dont respond to emails either!

Sooooooo yummy guys Wow Such delicious chicken Literally 10 times better than Nandos and we are Nando Lovers. So sauce has a really nice kick to it. Would recommend the HOT level chicken and use the mild sauce lol to add more flavor. Hahaha Together its so amazing. Clean and the Staff is lovely and sweet.

The food melted in your mouth. The garlic sticks and piri fries were also DELICIOUS!! And everything is halal! Atmosphere is super chill and there is plenty of room for larger groups. I ve been to Galito s twice, and both times have received excellent food and exceptional service. We went with a big group of 17 people including 8 kids. They literally re arranged their seating area so we could sit together and the staff were so so nice to our kids. They were offered stickers and balloons to play with, and the staff were so understanding about the noise and kids walking everywhere etc. no one showed a single sign of annoyance, and it warmed my heart. Great customer service still exists. And the food was also 11/10. Perfect in every way.

Horrible service. The restaurant was not busy during our time there. We watched the chef/owner make food for himself and eat over the grill. 30 min wait before we approached the owner.When approached about the wait, he blamed the cashier (she was not to blame). He offered to provide a refund but said he would make our food. Once refund provided he decided not to honour his word. So 40 minutes to be turned away. We were the only Black customers there....I will let you draw your own conclusion.

Galitos is a place i will definitely be visiting again. the area was inviting and clean. The Tacos stole the show with their perfectly seasoned fillings and vibrant flavors. The chicken poutine was also delightful. The Wrap showcased a well-balanced medley of fresh ingredients and secret sauce, making it an instant hit. Finally, the Red Velvet Cheesecake was a divine conclusion to our meal, with its velvety texture and rich flavors. From the friendly staff to the inviting atmosphere, the overall experience was top-notch.Above all it is all Halal which is why i went there in the first place. Galitos is a must-visit destination. I just wish i had taken pictures to add. Vegetarian options: they have vegetarian options as well.

Had a horrendous experience at this location. Waited 30mins for food, it wasnt ready, manager made excuses. Didnt want to refund money, he was rude. Also, when trying to refund he charged us AGAIN! NOTHING done to rectify. :(

Placed an order online 35 mins before the intended pick up time. Note: we ordered items to feed two people so this isnt even a large order. Confirmation says someone will call to confirm. No one called so we called after five mins. Went to pick up the food and ended up waiting an additional 50 minutes at the restaurant....50 mins past the requested pick up time. I dont see similar restaurants having this issue with getting the food out on time to their customers. Please review and make modifications to how you handle incoming pick up orders because the inconvenience and delays are ultimately going to deter business. Pretty upset that I wasted my time waiting. What was the point of ordering ahead?!

One time, the chicken portion size was good, but next time the same order had much smaller chicken portion size. The chocolate cake was very small, much smaller than what was shown in the menu. I will be happy to revisit my review if the management addresses my comments.

I thought Nandos was amazing, until I had food from here. The chicken here is cooked so well, it falls off the bone and its so soft, juicy and tender. The flavours are amazing and the staff here are so SO friendly and caring. I have zero complaints about the food here!

Been here twice already. I wasnt sure what to order on the first visit since the menu has a lot of options. They recommended the 3 piece hotbox special which was an absolute banger. Went back today and the cashier remembered me (good service). Not many places make an effort to try and remember your name nowadays which shows that the care is there. Tried the chicken strips on rice which was another 10/10. All of the sauces and seasonings Ive tried so far have been very good! Highly recommended if youre around the area.

Solid piri piri chicken joint in the Durham region. Piri rice hits but a bit on the saltier side. Chicken was juicy and well seasoned. It s also halal. Will be back

A fan of Galitos! Always had to drive to to the West-end, amazingly they are now open in the East-end, You have to try the spicy level! Hopefully they are able cater to everyone that comes their way. Because once you taste their chicken, you will want come back again and again!

Great service and amazing food

Got here and placed my order. Waited 40 minutes just to find out that my order never went through. Terrible first experience. The person taking my order was too busy socializing instead of checking on my order. I ve yet to try the food. I heat its good, but definitely not worth waiting this long for. I should have gone to Milos across the street.

Picked up food yesterday for my family. I ve had Galitos in the past i Mississauga and have always had a wonderful experience so was very excited to see Galitos open in Pickering. I ordered a whole chicken and half a chicken, one mild and one lemon and herb. Both chickens were extremely tasteless and dry. It was as if they had just been grilled and put in the box to serve. I really hope that this location will improve their quality of food that they serve.

This was the best food I have EVER had. my family and I wanted to try this new location. We ve been to the Mississauga location but my siblings are such picky eaters it s so hard to find good food that they ll enjoy. The staff is so friendly and kind, they make your dining experience so lovely. The staff answers all your questions, recommends menu items and are so easy to talk to. It s like being greeted by a friend. The food was so tasty and well cooked. The chicken was just delicious, it was flavourful, had the right amount of sauce to chicken ratio and made my taste buds dance when I took that first bite. I can t believe we finally found a spot that my younger siblings love!!!! I highly recommend this food to everyone. I will be coming to this location more frequently to try all of their delicious menu items.

It was my first time trying this place, the staff are really friendly and welcoming. The only negative review I had experienced was the chicken we bought it was undercooked.

I went with my wife to try out the food, safe to say it was worth every penny. The staff were friendly, food was served pretty quick we didn t have to wait much. And overall it was a great experience I highly recommend giving it a try.

The very best restaurant if youre looking for delicious peri peri chicken. Was very excited to try this place out. The staff were very polite and showed excellent customer service when serving my family. Service and waiting time was very fast and the chicken was very flavourful and cooked to perfection. Have a great variety of sides as well. The peri rice and tacos were my personal favourites. Overall the vibes are great for a family dinner and the place is kept very clean and spacious. Food was 10/10 as well as the experience!

Really great food, we got the family meal for two that includes two sides. We got the peri peri fries and the roasted veggies. Unfortunately, they ran out of rice, so we got the roasted veggies instead. The fries were crispy and flavourful and the roasted veggies had a crunch and a lot of flavour. The chicken was delicious perfectly cooked and moist inside. It does get really smoky in the place and will get your clothes covered in smoke, but they just recently opened and they will get a better exhaust fan in the future.

Food was great, portions are great for the price. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back to try other items!

I am so happy that Galito s finally opened in the Durham region. I ordered Whole chicken meal with peri rice and peri roasted potatoes Double shrimp skewer Garlic bread Mixed green salad The chicken was juicy and full of flavor. Sides were also good and in very good portions. Just one complaint there was no salad dressing that came with the salad. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Clean restaurant and very friendly staff.

This just opened up recently in Pickering. Family owned and great service thus far. Staff is friendly and informative. I wish this business nothing but success and prosperity. Portion was extremely small and rice was greasy.

Taste was good, first time trying it. We got the family meal but was a bit disappointed in the quantity of the sides. The large sides looked like regular sides. Wait time was also long for take out , the sides got cold while waiting for the chicken. Will try the food again because of the taste but definitely there is room for improvement.

Oh this place is heaven! Best halal food you can find in Durham region. I used to crave for Nando s and originally eaten in South Africa I couldn t find it authentic here. But Galitos hits the right spot for you. If you like to try that tropical flavours this is the place! Chicken is cooked to utmost precision , it s perfectly juicy and flavours seeped in. Their sauces are the best. They have a mild one and spicy one. I loved the spicy one the most. Unfortunately did not take any photos as we just pounced on food as soon as it arrived, lol. But definitely worth visiting. I will be going there often for sure.

The food is great but this specific location SUCKS! The food wait is way too long, the employees seem like they are unprepared and unorganized. Waiting 40mins for food in the store is not a good vibe.

I was surprised at the chicken portion served was so little. I saw previous post that said portion was little and was noted by the owner comments. I dont think an effort was taken to correct this. YOU are spending $20 per person and portio served doesnt justify for what you are getting. Food is tasty but it turns you off when you see at how little chicken portion you get

What a bad dinner on this special day, today is my sons bday and we plan to treat him at Galitos - we were so excited when we all saw food on the table but when we started eat there was a big disappointment, chicken was stale and rotten, it smells so bad that we literally have to move the chicken to the corner of the plate and call the restaurant manager, the guy came and listen to us very patiently, he was very soft spoken and humble and he replaced the chicken dishes, however the replacement also had the same unpleasant smell. We have no choice but to leave the place without making any noise as restaurant had some other customers dining at the same time. In my opinion the Government of Canada food inspection team should visit this venue and do their due diligence as it a serious matter which can lead to food poison cases.

Food was below average. Very bad customer service by the person who identified as the Owner. But I must say the girl at the counter was very supportive and tried to correct the mistake in the order placed.

Tried their food last night it was amazing. The front counter staff was very cordial and had great customer servicing skills, 5/5. Definitely going again with family. Just something to work on is the exhaust system when it gets busy the smoke gets heavy in the sitting area which is bothering for sure. Keep up the great work and keep making good food.

They attempt to emulate Nandos, but fall short in taste, quality, portion size, service, and price. Ambiance is good, and one lady seems to be manager is very attentive and helpful. But chicken is notably very small but pricier than Nandos, seemingly they chosen it encourage additional orders, which could be ok but unfortunately its tasteless to order more. The 2 sauces they provided were like only chili spice and lacks genuine peri-peri zest. Large portions are also like small servings of Nandos, but charging an extra $1 for salad (rip-off for the quality/quantity). Overall, its regrettable; my advice is to avoid wasting money and time here, or atleast not come with family for platter size might be single order would be any better. Their taste resembles more like cheap rotisserie chicken, rather than authentic peri-peri. I am surprised seeing people have positive reviews about them might be paid or by relatives. I suggest if you like Nandos and thinking it as alternate in East-side , please dont consider it as an alternate its not better than Chicken Fiesta (in-fact if chicken fiesta improve its ambiance they are 100 times better than this, but due to ambiance they lack dine-in customers)

Iv been here a few times now...takeouts mostly...first time, there was a long wait (restaurant was busy but still, whats the point of ordering ahead!) Second time, i was generally disappointed with the serving size of the half chicken. Not bad, but could do better.
